Tonight we're joined by someone who has spent his entire life chasing the truth behind the strange lights, the unexplained patterns, and the stories most people don't dare to look at twice. Scott Murtha from Mysterious Planet has been immersed in the paranormal and UFO world since he was young. He stepped into the field through ghost hunting, then shifted his focus to the UFO phenomenon, building projects like Mysterious Planet and UAP Tracker to document what's really happening in our skies. Scott has also had his own experiences which fuels the work he does today. He has been to the congressional hearings and keeps a close eye on what unfolds in DC. Do you know whether you're Vata, Pitta, or Kapha...and could that explain your stubborn symptoms in midlife? In this episode, I'm joined by my brilliant friend Dr. Shivani Gupta, and we dive into Ayurveda, inflammation, and why your body might be asking for a completely different approach right now. Have you ever wondered why turmeric seems to work like magic for pain, migraines, or inflammation? Or why the same routines that used to work suddenly don't anymore in perimenopause? We unpack how ancient Ayurvedic wisdom meets modern science—and why that combination matters so much for women over 40. We also go beyond supplements and symptoms into the deeper shifts of midlife. Is menopause actually an invitation to slow down, reconnect, and redesign your life? What if your fatigue, brain fog, or weight gain isn't failure, but feedback? This conversation might completely change how you see this season! In this episode, we uncover: How your elemental design influences inflammation, energy, and hormone balance. Why curcumin works so powerfully—and what most supplements get wrong. What Ayurveda says about perimenopause as a physical and spiritual transition. How simple daily rituals can replace willpower and finally stick. Why mental and emotional inflammation matter as much as hormones. If you're ready to rethink menopause and feel more at home in your body, this episode is for you. With the release of the new documentary series Handsome Devil: Charming Killer about Wade Wilson, Chalene shares the first episode of a Between Friends series exploring the psychology behind hybristophilia, the phenomenon where people become romantically drawn to violent criminals. In this first episode, she shares a personal story from early in her career that first exposed her to this behavior, then connects it to modern cases that reveal how attraction, manipulation, and control play out behind prison walls. This is not true crime for shock value. It is a psychological deep dive into why these relationships form, how dangerous men exploit empathy and attention, and why understanding these dynamics matters for personal safety.

In a lot of ways, the world is smaller now than it ever has been. With a few clicks of the mouse, I can watch a live camera feed of Sydney harbor, or read a newspaper from any country I can think of. Just five hours in an airplane can get you from the US to Europe, and pretty much anyone on the planet can listen to a couple of nerds like us on a podcast. But, obviously, the world is not in fact shrinking. It is still just as vast and potentially perilous as it was in the days when no one knew what lay on the other side of the ocean, and all it takes to bring that home is to lose connection to our world of technology and information. Our story is about a man's unimaginable journey through the ocean wilderness, driven by nothing but his wits and his will to survive.*Registration is now open for CrimeWave 2.0! HEALTH NEWS   Choline intake in pregnancy linked to lower inflammation Fatty acids found to influence immune defense during chronic infections Online shopping and social media use linked to higher stress levels Scientists Discover Natural Compounds With Unexpected Benefits for Skin, Anti-Aging, and Heart Health Discrimination damages the body—and makes victims age faster   Choline intake in pregnancy linked to lower inflammation Cornell University, February 5 2026 (Eurekalert)   A new Cornell University study suggests that choline, a nutrient many pregnant people consume too little of, may play an underappreciated role in keeping inflammation in check during pregnancy. Choline is an essential nutrient involved in many biological processes, including cell membrane structure, neurotransmitter production, methylation, immune cell receptor agonism, and fetal brain development, and some of these biochemical processes play a role in the regulation of inflammation. It is found primarily in eggs, meat, fish, dairy and some legumes and cruciferous vegetables. Researchers analyzed data from more than 1,300 pregnant participants enrolled in the Alberta Pregnancy Outcomes and Nutrition (APrON) cohort, one of the most detailed long-running pregnancy nutrition studies in North America. They found that higher recent dietary choline intake was associated with lower levels of inflammation in the third trimester. Most strikingly, participants with the highest choline intakes had dramatically lower odds of having clinically elevated inflammation than those with the lowest intakes. The current recommendation for choline during pregnancy is 450 mg, but there's some evidence that that may not be enough.     Fatty acids found to influence immune defense during chronic infections University of California at San Diego, February 5 2026 (Medical Xpress) Our immune system implements an array of strategies to combat threatening infections. White blood cells called cytotoxic T lymphocytes or "CD8 T cells" are soldiers of the immune system, serving as defensive agents that fight invading pathogens. When CD8 T cells reach the point of exhaustion, their protective capabilities decline and the immune system is much less effective. University of California San Diego immunologists have now studied the influences related to metabolism and the environment surrounding CD8 T cells. Their study led to intriguing new insights on the role of fatty acids in chronic infections and other persistent conditions, such as tumors. The research focused on metabolites, including small molecules such as amino acids, sugars, and lipids, in mice that play key roles in metabolism and its many functions and pathways. The study examined how such metabolites circulating in the blood change during short-lived or long-lasting viral infections. They discovered that an ongoing viral infection causes a brief but striking shift in the availability of nutrients in the early stages after infection. They saw levels of fatty acids increase during the first week after infection, associated with infection-induced changes in eating behavior and fat breakdown. At the same time, a special group of exhausted CD8 T cells with stem-like properties was found to absorb and store more fat than other T cells. These cells were able to use fatty acids as an energy source to power their mitochondria, the cell's energy producers. When fatty acids were provided later during chronic infection, the number of stem-like T cells expanded.   Online shopping and social media use linked to higher stress levels     Aalto University (Finland), January 9 2026 (News-Medical) Planning to save time by doing your shopping online? If so, it's possible you're not doing your well-being any favors. A study from Aalto University in Finland has found that online shopping is more strongly linked to stress than reading the news, checking your inbox or watching adult entertainment.  Previous studies have shown that social media and online shopping are often used to relieve stress. However, the new results show that a rise in social media use or online shopping is linked to an increase in self-reported stress across multiple user groups and across devices. The study found that users of YouTube and streaming services, as well as online gamers, also reported increased stress levels. For people experiencing high-stress, time spent on social media was twice more likely to be linked to stress as compared to time spent on gaming. Somewhat surprisingly, people who spent a lot of time on news sites reported less stress than others. On the other hand, those who already experienced a lot of stress didn't spend much time on news sites. Overall, the study found a strong connection between internet use, in general, and heightened stress, especially among those who already experienced a lot of stress in daily life. Women reported more stress than men, and the older and wealthier the participant, the less stress they experienced.   Scientists Discover Natural Compounds With Unexpected Benefits for Skin, Anti-Aging, and Heart Health Meijo University (Japan), February 5, 2026 (SciTech Daily) Scientists have found that certain natural compounds produced by algae and cyanobacteria may offer benefits beyond sun protection, including support for skin health and cardiovascular function. In lab experiments, two mycosporine-like amino acids were found to do more than soak up ultraviolet light. They also slowed down a major enzyme tied to blood pressure control, while showing antioxidant and anti-aging activity. One enzyme, Porphyra-334, is abundant in edible seaweed, which is already consumed widely in many countries. This raises the possibility that everyday foods may contain underappreciated bioactive compounds worthy of further health-related research. These compounds, called mycosporine-like amino acids (MAAs), are produced by seaweeds and other tiny organisms that spend their lives exposed to intense light. MAAs work like built in sun filters by absorbing ultraviolet (UV) radiation before it can harm cells. One of the most notable findings came from experiments on the inhibiting the angiotensin-converting enzyme ACE, a key regulator of blood pressure. Many widely prescribed hypertension drugs work by blocking ACE. Both compounds reduced the activity of this enzyme in laboratory tests, marking the first report of such an effect for MAAs. Although the observed effects were moderate and measured outside the human body, the discovery opens a new direction for future research.     Discrimination damages the body—and makes victims age faster University of Montreal, January 19 2026 (Medical Xpress) Has being discriminated against as an LGBTQ+ person been so bad, the stress so heavy, that the victim can literally feel it in their bones? Well, it turns out that's exactly what happens: discrimination damages the body and brain. That's the conclusion of a new study by researchers at Université de Montréal, who found that discrimination against sexually and gender-diverse people leaves measurable biological traces in the body—so much so, it should be considered a chronic health burden. Published in Psychoneuroendocrinology, the study was done on 357 Montreal adults aged 18 to 79: They included 129 cisgender sexual minority men and women, 96 transgender and non-binary people, and 72 cisgender heterosexual men and women. UdeM researchers measured the participants' allostatic load, the cumulative biological wear-and-tear associated with chronic stress. They looked at 16 biomarkers affecting the subjects' cardiovascular, metabolic, neuroendocrine and immune systems. Results show that major life experiences of discrimination and daily microaggressions were positively associated with allostatic load. This means that these two types of discriminatory events independently contribute to physiological dysregulation, creating a cumulative health burden and accelerated aging. The study revealed significant disparities: people on the male spectrum (cisgender and transgender men) had the highest levels of allostatic load, while sexual minority men (bisexual and gay) also showed high levels of biological stress.

Welcome to the Be It Till You See It podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring. I'm Lesley Logan, Pilates instructor and fitness business coach. I've trained thousands of people around the world and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt. My friends, action brings clarity and it's the antidote to fear. Each week, my guest will bring bold, executable, intrinsic and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and Be It Till You See It. It's a practice, not a perfect. Let's get started.Lesley Logan 0:48  Hi, Be It babe. How are you? Happy Friday. Happy February 6th. I'm super excited to chat with you today. I mean, like, something about February is just really nice because, like, okay, we're in this. We we're in it, we're in the month, we're in the new year, we're in all the things. And there's lots of stuff going on, you know, always, but you made it. You're here. And it's the day that we celebrate things, we're inspired by things we like, kind of have a loose agenda. Fridays are the days I like to reflect on the week. That's why it's a great day to, like, celebrate something you did do, because you did something great. I know you did. Especially since most of our listeners are women, I thought this would be a fun thing for us to look at together. So let me pull up my inspiration. You know, inspirations don't always have to be exciting. This one is interesting, and I think important for us to know. So women are 51% of the population, but 60% of the poor. Women are 83% of single parents, doing 66% of the work, producing 50% of the food, but earn just 11% of the pay and own only 20% of the land, all while giving birth to 100% of the population. In case you wondered why we still need feminism. And I share this because, look, I I think it's amazing if you want to choose to to not have a traditional work job, like if you're going to like work from home or things like that. The fact that you get to choose is because of feminism. And I think it's important that we continue to remind people that it wasn't always a choice, and women are still not getting paid what their fair share is, and there are plenty of women who are doing a ton of unpaid labor. There's a bunch of people out there who get to do different paid labor jobs because of the unpaid labor of women, and I just want, I just want us to remember that, because it can be really easy to think that, oh my gosh, like we're greedy, or is it ridiculous, we want these things, or should just be happy with what I have? No. Every time you fight for you, you're also fighting for the other women around you. You are. So many women benefit from it, you know, especially those who can't fight for themselves right now, who don't have the rights or the ease to have those rights. So don't stop fighting in the countries and places that you live, and don't stop reminding the people around you, men and women or and everything else and everyone else who are like, it's not that big a deal, like we've moved on by now. We haven't. You know, something that really bothers me is that when a male drives from one state to another, his rights don't change. But for women, their rights do, and that right there should piss you the fuck off. And I don't mean it because I want you to be in an angry place all the time, but like, my goodness, you know. So if you have a family member or a person in your life who's like, you know, it's not that big, it is a big deal. And this is why. And you can use the link in the show notes below to go over those stats with them, and kind of just say, like, explain, like, explain to me why you think we don't need it anymore. And I just would like to say, like, in the history of the U.S. we haven't had a, you know, all female at the top running this country, even at state levels, right? Like we've had governors, but, like the rest of the state, is not majority women running it. It's always had a majority of men, but never majority of women. So, you know, we haven't got what we want. We haven't done that yet, and you can't tell me feminism is a problem when women haven't been in charge of everything, you know. So I'm not saying that we're better than they are, or they're worse than us, or whatever. I'm just saying I think we really still have a lot of reminding people to do that there's still work to do, and we're still not there yet. Anyways, that is my little thing for today. Lesley Logan 4:43  Let's get into your wins. So we have from Nancy Lawrence, who's an eLevate grad and just an all around amazing woman who we've got to go to Cambodia with and celebrate. She's got a great win. She said, m win watching this young queen teach Pilates in her own beautiful studio. And I tell you, she's headed to Cambodia for this year's retreat. She's smashing it. So I love this win, Nancy, because you and your daughter are smashing it. And I there's a picture that was attached to this win, which is like of Miranda teaching in this beautiful space. And you know, when we went to Cambodia together the year before, not, none of those things were on the drawing board. And so like the fact that you get to have a win where you're so present in a space, and you're watching your beautiful daughter's an amazing teacher, teach in that space. What a beautiful win. You know, it's so interesting how we can underestimate what happened in a year. You know, just by being focused on what we want to do, it's kind of incredible what what we can do, and then what we get to witness along the way. So thank you for sharing that win with us. Lesley Logan 5:44  So my win is I bought a blow dryer, and I have been learning to blow dry my hair, and you don't get to see it from today's video, but I have been so once a week, I wash my hair, and then I try with different blow dryer attachment, blow dry my hair. And so I've had more days with my hair down than I usually do, and it's quite fun. It's not at all as gorgeous and wonderful as when my hairdresser does it. But you know what? We can't expect big things from ourselves, because I only wash my hair once a week, and so, you know, at this point, I've been doing it for 12 weeks now. And then, if you take one week out of each month away from my hairdresser doing it, I've only had nine attempts, and I'm not terrible at it, and I am really excited about myself for doing that. So you know, a win can be just learning something new, giving yourself permission to be a beginner at something and not great like that can be a win. So maybe, if you have a win like that, you can share with us, you can send your wins into the beitpod.com/questions, wins and questions go to the same place, and we'll celebrate your wins with you here, because you'll hear it probably months down the road when you need to be reminded that you did something amazing. Lesley Logan 6:42  All right, your mantra for the weekend, I do all things in love. I do all things in love. I do all things in love. Lesley, you do. Have a great weekend. Send your wins in. Celebrate what you did do, and I'll see you next time. Lesley Logan 6:57  That's all I got for this episode of the Be It Till You See It Podcast. I just turned 40 last month. And I don't know what shifts inside at midlife, but something changes when you hit this milestone. You start asking different questions: "Is this it?" "Is this who I really am?" "Is this all there is for me?" And if you've been battling an eating disorder for decades—maybe 10 years, maybe 20, maybe 30—you're asking an even harder question: "Who am I without this?" It's Eating Disorder Awareness Month. And this year, I want to talk about something we don't talk about enough—eating disorders in midlife. Did you know that eating disorder hospitalizations for women aged 45-65 have increased by 42% in the last decade? And yet, we still act like eating disorders are just a "young woman's problem." But if you're a woman in your late 30s, 40s, 50s, or beyond, and you're still struggling, I see you. This is NOT just a young woman's issue. And this episode? This one's for you. Because here's the truth: Midlife is an identity crisis. And breaking up with your eating disorder? That's an identity crisis too. And when those two collide, it can feel overwhelming. But what if this collision isn't a crisis at all? What if it's a crossroads? What if midlife is the PERFECT time to finally break free? IN THIS EPISODE, YOU'LL DISCOVER: Why midlife identity crisis and ED identity crisis are shockingly similar The statistics: 42% increase in ED hospitalizations for women 45-65, 13% of women over 50 engage in disordered eating Why more women are reaching out for support in midlife (and why that's powerful) The 5 reasons why NOW is the perfect season to go all in on recovery Why menopause/perimenopause can actually SUPPORT your recovery, not hinder it How to answer "I've had this for 30 years—how can I possibly recover now?" Real client stories: Women who recovered at 47, 52, and 61 What life AFTER ED in midlife actually looks like The reframe: This isn't a crisis, it's a crossroads Why the second half of your life is waiting for you to reclaim it KEY QUOTES

It's a period drama written and directed by Ryan Coogler, set in the 1930s South, with a supernatural twist. Autumn's previous credits include The Last Showgirl and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Anita talks to Autumn about her career so far and becoming the first woman of colour - and only the fourth woman ever - to be recognized in the Oscars cinematography category.Following the summer riots in 2024, the Women and Equalities Committee examined the impact of increasing tensions on women in Muslim communities across the UK and reported that the online, verbal and physical abuse and discrimination faced by Muslim women was having a ‘deeply damaging impact on individual lives and a corrosive effect on community cohesion'. Baroness Shaista Gohir OBE, CEO of the Muslim Women's Network and Iman Atta, CEO of Tell Mama join Anita to discuss the WEC's findings.AI companions are becoming increasingly common, with one in three adults now using them for conversation, advice and support. Now recent research from Bangor University has shown that many teen AI companion users believe their bots can think or understand. That research prompted Nicola Bryan, a reporter for BBC Wales News to investigate and acquire an "AI boyfriend" of her own in the process. Nicola talks to Anita about what happened next.Autism probably affects girls and boys equally, according to a long term study by the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden. The new research challenges previously held assumptions that autism is more common among males; it found that by the age of twenty, the male-to-female ratio of diagnoses was equal. But in children aged under ten, four boys are diagnosed for every one girl. To discuss the findings, Anita is joined by Doctor Judith Brown, Head of Evidence and Research at the National Autistic Society and Betsey, an autistic 18-year old university student.Presenter: Anita Rani Producer: Rebecca Myatt

The era of women underpricing is officially over.   In this episode I break the illusion that more work creates more money. The real lever for growth isn't expansion—it's pricing that's designed to match your expertise, your results, and the level you're here to operate at.   For years, women were taught that income increases after effort, explanation, and proof. That conditioning shaped how pricing was set—and why so many brilliant women still carry rates that lag behind the results they deliver.   We're talking about pricing as the foundation that allows growth to feel supported, spacious, and sustainable—without adding more offers, more content, or more pressure.   If you're ready to stop asking your business to stretch harder and start letting pricing do its job, this conversation will shift how you see income—and how you build from here.   Because pricing is the lever that unlocks more freedom, choice, and support inside your business.    In this episode I talk about: Why underpricing was never a mindset flaw but a patriarchal inheritance.   The specific – and outdated - money rules that shaped how women were taught to charge.   The difference between low pricing and unstrategic pricing.   Why pricing is the only growth strategy that increases income without adding complexity.   The key shift that turns pricing into a strategic advantage instead of a stress point.   What higher pricing actually funds in your business, including time, support, and freedom.   Powerful coaching questions to pinpoint where your pricing needs attention right now.   ~~   For full show notes, transcript, and to check out Kendall's NEW FREE workshop Your Pricing Breakthrough, click here: www.themoneycoachschoolpodcast.com/124

Angela addresses the common misconception that a slowed metabolism is the primary cause of weight gain during midlife, particularly for women experiencing menopause. Instead, the focus is on the impact of visceral fat and insulin exposure, which can lead to stubborn belly fat.  Angela episode outlines five actionable levers to combat these issues, including increasing daily movement, prioritising resistance training, strategically using high-intensity interval training (HIIT), choosing fibrous whole food carbohydrates, and improving sleep and stress resilience WHAT YOU'LL LEARN: Insulin Exposure: Elevated insulin levels throughout the day hinder the body's ability to mobilise stored fat. Improving insulin sensitivity is crucial for effective fat loss, particularly around the abdomen. Five Effective Levers: To combat midlife belly fat, focus on five key strategies: Break up long periods of sitting and increase daily movement. Prioritise resistance training three times a week. Use high-intensity interval training (HIIT) strategically. Choose fibrous whole food carbohydrates instead of cutting carbs entirely. Improve sleep quality and manage stress to enhance metabolic health. Personalised Approach: The most effective strategy for reducing belly fat varies for each individual. She never filed a public police report. She rebuilt — married Spencer, had two children — while carrying that weight. On December 30th, she and Spencer were found dead in their Columbus home. McKee has pleaded not guilty despite surveillance footage, a ballistics match, and years of documented threats.Mica Miller called police fourteen times in her final months. She reported tracking devices. Harassment. Fear for her life. She told her family if she ended up with a bullet in her head, it wasn't by her — it was JP. Two days after serving Pastor JP Miller divorce papers, she was dead. Ruled a suicide. JP just pleaded not guilty to federal cyberstalking while the indictment alleges tracking, non-consensual nude photo distribution, fifty-plus contacts in a single day, and lies to investigators.Psychotherapist Shavaun Scott — author of "The Minds of Mass Killers" and a DV survivor whose ex-husband died by revenge suicide — connects these cases. She explains the psychological burden of living under direct threat, why victims don't report, the forensic profile of defendants who treat prosecution as competition, and how coercive controllers weaponize every system designed to help their targets. Two women. Two systems that failed. Two men who allegedly believed consequences were for other people.#MoniqueTepe #MicaMiller #MichaelMcKee #JPMiller #HiddenKillersLive #ShavaunScott #CoerciveControl #DomesticViolence #SystemFailure #MindsOfMassKillersJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Looking 4 Healing Radio with Elizabeth Joseph – Detox mobilizes stored toxins and demands energy, minerals, thyroid signaling, and adrenal resilience. Many popular protocols reduce calories or drive heavy chelation without first building capacity. That stresses the thyroid, depletes iron, strips zinc and magnesium, and destabilizes blood sugar. Women lose iron monthly. Low iron undermines...

America's drug crisis isn't a science problem; it's a pricing and policy problem that blocks patients from medicines that already exist. In this episode, Dr. Jerry Avorn, a professor of medicine and leading expert in pharmacoepidemiology and medication policy, discusses why many patients still can't afford essential treatments even as breakthrough drugs for cancer and inflammatory disease proliferate. He shares a personal case where “nonadherence” was really unaffordability, then unpacks how US exceptionalism in drug pricing, patent “thickets,” and delayed competition keep costs unsustainably high. Dr. Avorn also contrasts access failures with overuse concerns, explores why other countries negotiate on the basis of value, and addresses objections to innovation and rationing, including a sobering example of cystic fibrosis in the UK. Finally, he explains how academic detailing spreads evidence-based prescribing and evaluates recent US attempts to let Medicare negotiate prices alongside more deal-driven approaches.  Tune in and learn how drug prices, patents, and public funding shape what patients can actually access! My Take: Why Sales Is the Real Job (Even If You Hate Sales) — with Julia Arpag

I'm saying the quiet part out loud: if you don't build your sales muscle, growth stalls - no matter how talented you are. In this episode, Julia Arpag, CEO and Founder of Aligned Recruitment, shares with me how she went from five weeks postpartum and laid off to building a seven-figure tech recruitment firm by treating selling as service, investing early in mentorship, and using LinkedIn + networking like a real funnel.Julia's journey began in August 2023 when she was unexpectedly laid off while on maternity leave. What could have been a destabilizing moment became the catalyst for something extraordinary. While briefly accepting a W-2 role, she started selling for a friend's startup recruitment venture on the side. Within months, she closed three retainer clients. That early traction forced a pivotal decision: continue playing it safe, or step fully into entrepreneurship despite fears around sales, taxes, and “not knowing enough.” She chose the leap. Rather than trying to figure everything out alone, Julia invested her earliest earnings into mentorship by hiring an executive coach who had sold a recruitment agency for $28 million, a LinkedIn writing coach, and systems experts. Inspired by Carol Dweck's Mindset and the philosophy of “Who Not How,” she built her sales muscle, reframed selling as service, and adopted a growth mindset that became foundational to Aligned Recruitment's rapid success. She reminds us that for women entrepreneurs especially, seeking support is often the difference between staying small and scaling meaningfully. We also explored Julia's tactical wisdom as a recruiter, including why job seekers should treat their search like a sales funnel, how to optimize LinkedIn to be discovered, and why networking consistently outperforms cold online applications. At a deeper level, Julia challenges the idea that business success must come at the cost of personal well-being. Her philosophy is clear: build a business around your life, not the other way around. This conversation is a powerful reminder for all of us that profitability, purpose, and peace can coexist. Tune in to hear my conversation with Julia Arpag and how she is redefining what it looks like for women to lead, sell, and scale without losing themselves in the process. Chapters: 01:12
