Casey Stumpf is a nurse practitioner and my sister. Years in emergency medicine and hospice, a stretch inside military medicine at Camp Pendleton, and now her own practice in Montana treating hormones full time — perimenopause, menopause, testosterone for men and women. She is one of roughly 4,100 providers in the country holding the MSCP certification. There are 75 million American women in some phase of menopause. The math does not work. She is back to answer listener questions and to explain why estrogen patches are disappearing. The FDA says there is no shortage. Pharmacists say otherwise. Best estimate on a fix is two to three years. She lays out what the 2002 Women's Health Initiative did to an entire generation of women, and why the black box warning finally came off. Testosterone for women, prescribed off-label because no FDA-approved formulation exists. GLP-1s and what they pull out of you besides fat. Hormone therapy after breast cancer. Vaginal estrogen, UTIs, and hip fractures. The suicide risk in perimenopause that standard screening misses. Recent research shows that between 40 and 60% of women either change or quit their sport due to bladder leaks. That's 100% too many in our book. So this week we sat down with Dr. Lauren Siff, a double board-certified urogynecologist to demystify one of women's health's most under-discussed issues: urinary leakage. We break down the differences between stress and urge incontinence, why athletes and active women are prone to leaking, and how the menopausal transition can worsen the situation through declining estrogen, shifting vaginal pH, and rising UTI risk. Dr. Siff walks us through the full range of solutions, from pelvic floor exercises and support devices to Botox, bladder stimulators, and the game-changing role of vaginal estrogen, plus how to know when it's time to seek care. Her message is loud and clear in this one: no matter how small or severe the symptoms, there's help available — and you never have to stop doing what you love.Dr. Siff is a double board-certified urogynecologist and Chief of Gynecology and Urogynecology for the Central Virginia VA Health Care System and Associate Professor at VCU School of Medicine and VCU Institute of Engineering. A dedicated innovator and surgical educator — with a Distinguished Educator certificate from the Cleveland Clinic and founder of SurgicalEd VR, which uses VR and haptic technology to improve the quality, safety, cost-effectiveness, and accessibility of surgical training. She also serves board and committee roles with the Society for Gynecologic Surgeons, American Urogynecologic Society, and American Association of GYN Laparoscopists. She is Central Virginia Site Lead for the National VA Women's Health Research Network, and chairman of the U.S. National Surgery Office's Surgical Advisory Board for GYN. Philanthropically, she directs surgeon training for Global Surgical Expedition, driven by a mission to democratize access to surgical training and vital surgical procedures worldwide.FeistyFit Info: https://livefeisty.com/training/running/feistyfitfall/Join us at Feisty Fest September 18-20, 2026: https://livefeisty.com/events/feisty-fest/Women's Mechanic Camp in Tucson: https://livefeisty.com/events/bike-mechanic-school-tucson/Courses and Coaching: https://livefeisty.com/courses/Sign up for our FREE Feisty 40+ newsletter: https://livefeisty.com/newsletters/feisty-40/Follow Us on Instagram:Feisty Menopause: @feistymenopauseHit Play Not Pause Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/807943973376099Support our Partners:Midi Health: You Deserve to Feel Great. "Time management is not something you're born with or born without. It's a skill that anybody can learn if they're being taught in a reasonable way." In this episode, Heather and Megan Sumrell explore what it means to stop fighting time and start building a life that actually has room for you to live. So many of us approach planning from a place of pressure, trying to squeeze more into every available pocket of time, sacrifice sleep to catch up, or follow rigid systems that were never designed around our actual lives. But creating a calm, organized life isn't about becoming more productive; it's about building enough structure to protect what matters while leaving space for the unexpected, the people we love, and the parts of ourselves that can't be scheduled. Learn how to let go of the shame of not doing it all, increase your capacity instead of constantly playing catch-up, and redefine productivity so that the white space in your calendar becomes part of the life you're creating. What to listen for: ☑️ Getting into a relationship with time rather than always trying to "beat it" ☑️ The sooner we learn to build ourselves back into our lives, the better we'll feel ☑️ Why the way you're planning might be keeping you perpetually behind "Learning how to create a plan that supports enough structure to ensure important things are getting done while also leaving space to absorb life and the reality of life, that's really the sweet spot." ☑️ Releasing the shame and pressure we put on ourselves to plan perfectly ☑️ Sacrificing your sleep is not the way to create more time, and what to do instead ☑️ Why you should never follow someone else's rigid morning routine "A successful tool or system is one where the steps that you follow are the same for everybody, but the inputs are uniquely yours, and the outputs are uniquely yours." ☑️ Goal setting is a waste of time when you don't have control of your daily life ☑️ How to increase your capacity so that you don't begin each week already behind ☑️ Teaching our children time management skills so they can thrive "The stuff that's important to me is represented on my calendar and protected to ensure I can get them done. But my identity is in all the white space on my calendar." ☑️ Breaking the belief that you have to be productive in your open pockets of time ☑️ Learning to think like someone who knows how to create a calm, organized life ☑️ Building a full life that isn't stressful or constantly overbooked About Megan Sumrell: Megan Sumrell is a former corporate executive turned entrepreneur. Women are told to be strong, but not hard. Confident, but not intimidating. Emotional, but for the love of God, don't be too sensitive. Apparently, there's some magical “just right” version of womanhood—but nobody seems to have the address. In this episode of This Is Woman's Work, Nicole Kalil talks with Dr. Sasha Hamdani, board-certified psychiatrist, mental health educator, and author of Too Sensitive about why feeling deeply isn't a flaw to fix. They unpack rejection sensitive dysphoria (RSD), what happens when emotions hijack logic, how hormones impact sensitivity, and practical ways to regulate without stuffing, numbing, or apologizing for what's being felt. In This Episode: Why sensitivity isn't weakness—and can actually be a leadership strength What rejection sensitive dysphoria is and why rejection can hit so damn hard How to regulate emotions without suppressing them Why hormones matter more than women have been taught Why the goal isn't thicker skin—it's greater self-awareness and control Feeling deeply isn't the same as being fragile. The goal isn't to become less sensitive—it's to understand it, work with it, and stop shrinking perfectly human parts of ourselves just because they make someone else uncomfortable. Pornography is increasingly becoming a struggle for women—but what's really driving it, and how can Christian women fight it? Todd sits down with Fortis Fellow and biblical counselor Libby Glosson to discuss what's happening beneath the surface and the hope found in Christ. Segment 1 • Why are more women consuming pornography—and has our culture encouraged women to adopt some of the worst behaviors of men? • What are women really seeking through pornography: intimacy, acceptance, love, or escape? • Why pornography is ultimately more than a sexual problem—it's a heart and worship problem. Segment 2 • Why “just stop it” and shame aren't enough to produce lasting change. • How wrong beliefs about God's goodness, holiness, and character can fuel sexual sin. • What practical steps can women take without ignoring the deeper desires of the heart? Segment 3 • What's the difference between wanting freedom from consequences and genuinely wanting to repent? • Can repeated sexual sin dull a Christian's conscience? • How do you uncover what's really driving a recurring struggle with pornography? Segment 4 • What should you actually do when temptation hits? • Why fighting pornography may require dealing with escapism, discontentment, ingratitude, and entitlement. • In the moment of temptation, the ultimate question is: Will you love Christ more than your sin? ___ Thanks for listening! Episode Description: Over 21 million women in the United States are dealing with bacterial vaginosis right now. Most of them have never told a single person. Not their doctor, not their closest friend, not their partner. Because somewhere along the way we decided this was not something we talk about. Today we will talk about it. Danielle spent five years cycling through antibiotics, specialists, Reddit rabbit holes, and remedies that did not work. When she finally told her then new boyfriend Hans, he did not run. He asked how he could help. Hans happened to come from a family that had been manufacturing dietary supplements for 30 years. What came out of that conversation became Happy V, a vaginal probiotic that does not just feed the good bacteria but hunts down the bad ones. Danielle and Hans break it down — in order: Take 1: "Antibiotics eliminate all the bacteria — and then it comes right back" Danielle explains why the standard treatment for BV sets women up for a revolving cycle of reinfection. She breaks down what is actually happening in the vaginal microbiome and why the conventional approach keeps missing the root cause. Take 2: "The shame around BV is destroying relationships" From new couples to long marriages, BV is ending intimacy and keeping women isolated in embarrassment. Hans and Danielle share what that conversation looked like for them and why having it honestly changed everything. Take 3: "Not all probiotics are the same and most gummies are basically useless" Hans pulls back the curtain on how the supplement industry actually works and why most probiotic products on the shelf cannot deliver what they promise. He explains what three things a label has to show before a probiotic is worth buying. Take 4: "Probiotics hate water, acid, and heat — which is everything a gummy is made of" This one will make you look at your cabinet differently. Hans explains exactly why the gummy format destroys the very bacteria you are trying to consume and what format actually protects them. Take 5: "Give it time — anyone telling you this works overnight is lying to you" Dietary supplements are not magic and the marketing around vaginal health is especially aggressive. Danielle and Hans give the honest timeline and explain what patience actually looks like when you have the right product. In this episode, you'll discover: • Why recurring BV is not a hygiene problem, what is actually driving the imbalance, and why the antibiotic cycle keeps women stuck instead of healed • How to read a probiotic label and what three things the International Probiotic Association says must be present for a product to actually be legitimate • Why the vaginal microbiome is one of the most undertreated areas of women's health and how an imbalanced pH affects everything from intimacy to confidence to daily comfort This one is for every woman who has suffered in silence and every partner who wants to understand. The figures are startling - 2.1 million Brazilians have a clinical addiction to betting and 7.5 million are problem gamblers. Women now comprise 40% of all gamblers, having been 25% just a decade ago. Online sports and casino betting have exploded in Brazil to make it one of the largest gambling markets in the world. The self-help group Gamblers Anonymous says it is receiving thousands of calls each month and millions of Brazilians are estimated be suffering financial, emotional or relationship problems as a result of betting. Camilla Mota talks to football fans in Sao Paulo about why they are gambling on their team's result. She speaks to a man who gambled away $75, 000 on a corporate credit card, a businesswoman who locked herself in the toilet of her family home in order to bet in secret and meets two psychiatrists offering treatment to addicts at a special clinic. What can be done to protect problem gamblers and avoid driving legal gambling underground?
In 1723, the College of William & Mary opened the Brafferton building, a permanent home for an Indian School the college had been chartered to run and struggled to fill for its first 30 years. The premise of the Brafferton: take Native boys and strategically teach them in ways that would make them more useful to the British Empire. So what actually happened inside the Brafferton Indian School? In this revisited episode, the first of a two-part series, our three guests investigate why the Brafferton School existed, how the English filled Brafferton with students even as Native families refused to send their children, and what the Indigenous students did with the knowledge the English taught them. We'll also explore how a school built on a colonial college campus during the reign of King George I connected to schools like the Carlisle School, which were still separating Indigenous children from their families in the 1950s.Show Notes: https://www.benfranklinsworld.com/367RECOMMENDED NEXT EPISODES:

For three years, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has worked with global humanitarian and nongovernmental organizations as part of its Caring for Women and Children Initiative Consortium. The first week of August of this year, leaders from seven of those organizations met in Salt Lake City to review learnings from the past year’s work and to evaluate what can be done next year to continue to bless families and communities around the world.Relief Society General President Camille N. Johnson sat down with some of those leaders at the Church’s newly opened Humanitarian Center on Thursday, Aug. 6, to talk about how the group has worked together and the outcomes they have seen in the lives of those they have served. On this episode of the Church News podcast, President Johnson and others speak with Church News editor Jon Ryan Jensen and share examples of the successes seen three years into this initiative.“[The Church’s] members are committed to lifting and caring for all of God’s children,” President Johnson said. “And we’re happy to have the opportunity to collaborate together to make miracles happen in the lives of women and children.”
Men, you need to stop chasing women who have not chosen you. The solution is not becoming cold or nasty. It is becoming more selective, reading the situation for what it actually is, and making sure your investment matches the investment coming back to you. Interest is not commitment. You have to let each step of the relationship be earned before you take the next step yourself. Stay on your purpose, pay attention to actual behavior, and reward reciprocity instead of potential. Ralph Friedman is the most decorated detective in NYPD history — with 2,000 on-duty arrests, 5,000 additional assists, and 219 awards — and in this episode of Locked In with Ian Bick, he finally tells the complete truth about what policing in New York City's most dangerous precincts really looked like from the inside during the most violent and most lawless era available. Stationed at the South Bronx's notorious 41st Precinct — known as Fort Apache — he served during one of New York City's most dire periods, recording 2,000 on-duty arrests, 5,000 additional assists, and 15 shootings — four of them fatal — before a rookie in a radio patrol car T-boned his passenger door at high speed on August 1, 1983, leaving him with 23 broken bones including a pelvis broken in four places and a shattered hip that forced him into medical retirement at 34. He shares what the Bronx streets in the 70s and 80s really required of the officers working them, what criminals putting hits on him actually involved, the worst things he ever saw on the job, and what the stories from a career that produced the most decorated record in NYPD history actually sound like from the detective who lived every one of them. _____________________________________________ #NYPD #cops #truecrimestories #police _____________________________________________ Thank you to AG1 & HUNGRYROOT for sponsoring this episode: AG1: For a limited time, save 20% on your first subscription order of AG1 Next Gen or AG1 Pro at https://drinkag1.com/lockedin _____________________________________________ Hungryroot: Explore my Hungryroot Digital Cookbook "The Commissary Upgrade" at https://hungryroot.com/LOCKEDIN _____________________________________________ Connect with Ralph Friedman: https://www.bronxstreetwarrior.com/ _____________________________________________ Hosted, Executive Produced & Edited By Ian Bick: https://www.instagram.com/ian_bick/?hl=en https://ianbick.com/ _____________________________________________ Timestamps: 00:00 Introduction to Detective Ralph Friedman 00:22 Reflections on a Legendary Career 01:08 How He Became a Cop 03:25 First Day in the Bronx 04:34 An Officer's Gear in the 1970s 06:16 The Mental Toll of Policing 07:47 Public Respect and Deterrence 10:00 Case: Stopping a Justifiable Homicide 12:53 Public Sentiment Today vs. Back Then 15:08 First Arrest and Early Impressions 17:04 Specialization and the Black Liberation Army 19:34 Daily Danger and Chaos 22:40 Corruption and the Knapp Commission 24:16 A Rookie's Brush with Corruption 27:43 Changing Views on Women in Policing 29:57 Path to Detective 33:05 Plainclothes Work and Tactics 35:31 Shootout in the South Bronx 41:17 Aftermath of a Shooting 43:31 Close Calls and Street Survival Tips 47:20 Quirky Emergency Service Stories 51:03 Old School vs. Modern Training 53:52 Detective Work and Arrests 58:40 A Typical Day as a Detective 01:02:32 Taking Down a Gun and Grenade Cache 01:05:05 Reputation and Informants 01:07:55 Riding with Friends and a Street Crew 01:12:40 The Worst Call of His Career 01:14:40 When the System Fails 01:16:51 Fitting In with the Squad 01:18:04 Off-Duty Life and Arrests 01:21:28 The Attempt on His Life 01:27:07 A Date with an Assassin 01:29:25 The Trap Unfortunately Foiled 01:30:42 The Emotional Weight of Taking Lives 01:32:28 Respect eroding in Society 01:35:10 Detective Ranks Explained 01:38:41 Handling Bosses and Paperwork 01:40:41 The Frances Tavern Case That Haunts Him 01:45:40 Fighting Layoffs 01:48:41 The Accident That Ended It All 01:53:20 Recovery and the Next Chapter 01:58:40 Life Advice from a Legend 02:00:00 Final Thoughts and Thanks _____________________________________________ To advertise on the show, contact sales@advertisecast.com or visit https://advertising.libsyn.com/LockedInWithIanBicka

This week, Corrine Malcolm is joined by Sabrina Pace-Humphreys to talk about two kinds of endurance: returning to UTMB after a heartbreaking race, and continuing the long-term work of making trail running a more inclusive sport. They talk about what Sabrina learned from last year's UTMB, why she's coming back, and how her work with Black Trail Runners has shaped the way she thinks about belonging, representation, and responsibility. It's a thoughtful conversation about resilience, community, and what happens when an athlete who spends so much time creating space for others asks what she wants for herself.Sabrina's Website: https://sabrinapacehumphreys.com/Sabrina's book: Start Where You Are (The Beginner's 5k Running Guide for Women)Follow Us:FeistyFest Details and Registration: https://livefeisty.com/events/feisty-fest/Women's Mechanic Camp in Tucson: https://livefeisty.com/events/bike-mechanic-school-tucson/Courses and Coaching: https://livefeisty.com/courses/@feisty_media@trail.societySupport our Partners:Use the code FEISTY2026 for 20% off at https://www.tifosioptics.comProBio: Use code Trail20 for 20%-off orders (30%-off + free shipping w/ subscriptions) at https://www.probionutrition.com/rabbit: Visit https://www.runinrabbit.com/ use code: SUMMERTRAIL for 10% off.

What if the biggest difference between you and an organized woman isn't how much stuff she owns or how naturally organized she is? What if she simply believes being organized is possible for her? In this episode, I'm sharing the secret I think organized women know about decluttering and why that belief changes everything about the way you approach your stuff. When you doubt that you'll ever really be organized, every unfinished project, difficult decision, or cluttered room can become more evidence that you're “just not an organized person.” You start, stop, question yourself, get overwhelmed, and eventually give up. But organization is a skill you can learn and practice. You don't have to organize your whole house to be organized. Every time you make a decision, declutter for 15 minutes, assign something a home, reset a space, or resume after stopping, you're practicing being an organized person. We'll also talk about another powerful shift: decluttering from your life forward instead of from your stuff backward. Instead of picking up an item and asking, “Should I get rid of this?” try getting clear about the life you want to live, the season you're in, and who you're becoming. Then ask, “Does this deserve space in that life?” In this episode, you'll learn: Why believing organization is possible for you matters How decluttering actually helps you become more organized Why decluttering is really a decision-making practice How fear, scarcity, memories, and regret make decisions harder Why your current season of life can help you decide what stays How your future identity can become a decluttering filter The difference between stuff that supports your identity and stuff that simply proves your identity Why you don't have to finish an entire project for your organizing efforts to count How to use 15 minutes to get clear on what you want your home and life to support I also share the story of my client Cheryl, who had to declutter to move into her dream retirement home. The payoff wasn't simply having less stuff. It was having a home she loves, a guest room her grandkids can actually use, and the freedom to enjoy this season of her life. As you listen, consider these questions: What am I making room for? Who am I choosing to be in this season? Does this support the life I want to live? You don't need to wait until your whole house is organized to become an organized person. You become her while you practice. One decision, one space, and one 15-minute session at a time. Get the 15-Minute Declutter Challenge here.
If you are taking HRT, it is not enough to only ask how much estrogen you are using. You also have to ask a second question: how well is your body actually processing and clearing that estrogen? In this episode, I sit down with David Roberts and John Gilday from Mara Labs to unpack estrogen metabolism, estrogen receptors, environmental hormone disruptors, detoxification pathways, and why the conversation around "estrogen dominance" is often way too simplistic. We talk about the difference between having high estrogen and having estrogen that is not being metabolized efficiently, especially in perimenopause when estrogen can fluctuate wildly while progesterone starts dropping. We also get into xenoestrogens, microplastics, estrogen metabolites, the body's phase one, phase two, and phase three detoxification pathways, and why compounds like sulforaphane, resveratrol, black cohosh, and curcumin have become so interesting in the conversation around midlife health. The big message here is that hormone optimization is not always about adding more. Sometimes it is about making sure the body has the tools it needs to use, metabolize, and eliminate hormones effectively. In this episode, we cover: What "estrogen dominance" can actually mean in perimenopause Why low progesterone can change the way estrogen affects the body Estrogen receptor alpha versus estrogen receptor beta How xenoestrogens and endocrine-disrupting chemicals may interfere with hormonal signaling Why estrogen metabolism matters whether your estrogen is natural or coming from HRT Phase one, phase two, and phase three detoxification explained Why genetics may affect how efficiently women metabolize estrogen What sulforaphane is and why broccoli sprouts get so much attention Sulforaphane vs DIM for estrogen metabolism The roles of resveratrol, black cohosh, carnosic acid, and curcumin Why inflammation, oxidative stress, and detoxification are all connected How supplements may fit into a broader midlife hormone strategy For the next week, Hormone Solution loyal listeners can get an exclusive 25% off all Mara Labs products when you go to mara-labs.com/HORMONES use code HORMONES at checkout. In this episode of Profiling Evil, I sit down with clinical and forensic psychologist Dr. Joni Johnston to examine why some women pursue relationships with men responsible for notorious killings. We begin with Chris Watts, who is serving life without parole for murdering his pregnant wife, Shanann Watts, their daughters, Bella and Celeste, and their unborn son, Nico. With reports that Watts may now want to marry a woman who has repeatedly visited him in prison, we discuss what someone may gain from a relationship built around distance, controlled contact and the belief that she alone understands the man behind the crime.Dr. Johnston explains the limited research surrounding hybristophilia, the term commonly used for attraction to people who commit serious crimes. We discuss rescue fantasies, religious redemption, the desire to feel uniquely important, denial of overwhelming evidence and the emotional appeal of a relationship in which everyday responsibilities are largely absent. We also examine how an incarcerated offender can create intimacy through letters, telephone calls and carefully controlled stories while the person outside supplies money, attention, loyalty and a connection to the free world. We compare Watts with Richard Ramirez, the Night Stalker, who received attention from numerous women while awaiting execution and eventually married Doreen Lioy. Her refusal to accept the evidence against him lasted for years before DNA linked Ramirez to the killing of nine-year-old Mei Leung. We also discuss Luigi Mangione and the public support, romantic attention and substantial defense contributions he received after the killing of UnitedHealthcare executive Brian Thompson. Mangione has now pleaded guilty to two federal stalking charges resulting in Thompson's death and admitted in court that he shot him; the separate New York murder prosecution is currently being challenged by his attorneys. (Associated Press)This conversation is not about assuming that every person who writes to an inmate has the same motivation. It is about understanding the different psychological needs that can make these relationships attractive, the ways imprisoned offenders may groom or manipulate people outside and the difference between a sincere claim of change and years of accountable behavior. Dr. Johnston also explains why intelligence, professional training or previous relationship experience does not necessarily protect someone from emotional manipulation.I want to hear what you think. Should Chris Watts be permitted to marry while serving life for killing Shanann, Bella, Celeste and Nico? Is a prison relationship evidence of love, a rescue effort, a redemption story or something the offender has carefully constructed?#ChrisWatts #ShanannWatts #BellaWatts #CelesteWatts #NicoWatts #LuigiMangione #BrianThompson #RichardRamirez #JoniJohnston #JennieVincow #DayleOkazaki #TsaiLianYu #VincentZazzara #MaxineZazzara #WilliamDoi #MabelBell #MaryLouiseCannon #JoyceLucilleNelson #MaxonKneiding #LelaKneiding #ChainarongKhovananth #ElyasAbowath #PeterPan #MeiLeung #TrueCrime #ForensicPsychology #PrisonRelationships #PrisonGrooming #Hybristophilia #LoveBehindBars #VictimAdvocacy #ProfilingEvil========================================20% OFF Newspapers.comhttps://www.newspapers.com/go/podcast/?ref=profilingevil?xid=8877&utm_source=ProfilingEvilPodcast&utm_medium=podcst&utm_campaign=ProfilingEvil26========================================Discounts on eBikes: https://aipasbike.com/?ref=PROFILINGEVILReferral Coupon Code: PROFILINGEVIL========================================Email your questions to: ProfilingEvil@gmail.com========================================
