Messages From Spirit: Guardian Mother, Miscarriage & Son's Future | In this episode of the Radio Medium, psychic medium Laura Lee connects with Sonya, a caller from Colombia. A maternal spirit, deeply religious, who once lit candles for loved ones on the other side, reveals herself as Sonya's guardian, offering messages of love, guidance, and protection. Through spirit communication, Laura confirms intimate details: a rosary being held, a miscarriage, and Sonya's son currently attending private school. The spirit shares that the child Sonya thought she lost returned as her son, validating their eternal bond. With compassion, Laura brings through reassurance that Sonya's son will always take care of her, no matter where life's journey takes them. This powerful reading explores themes of life after loss, family connections, miscarriage healing, spiritual guardianship, and hope for the future. It's a reminder that even when we face challenges, our loved ones in spirit continue to guide and protect us.✨

In this intimate reflection, Colombian-American producer Tasha Sandoval takes listeners with her as she returns to her native Colombia, after a lifetime of living in the United States, first as a Latina immigrant and then as a US citizen. For a few years, Tasha has had a growing desire: to find out what life would be like if she relocated to the country her parents left, her homeland. And she’s not the only one–Latin American diasporas in the U.S., including many U.S.-born Latinos, are seeking connections to their ancestral homelands. Tasha takes us on her journey as she tries to answer a question: What happens when you are willing to return home? Deep inside the Colombian Amazon hi-tech submarines are being built. When it comes to making the cocaine trade more profitable, there's nothing narco-traffickers aren't willing to try. Some of the solutions they're reportedly employing sound like something out of the American TV series Breaking Bad: GPS-trackers, remotely operated submarines and recruiting highly specialised scientists. Reporter José Carlos Cueto of BBC Mundo has been investigating the new trends and technologies used by cartels in Colombia and abroad. Labubu dolls, the elf-like plush toys from the Chinese toy maker Pop Mart, seem to have taken the world by storm. Singer Rihanna had one clipped to her bag, influencer Kim Kardashian shared her collection of 10 dolls on Instagram, and former England football captain Sir David Beckham also shared a photo of a Labubu, given to him by his daughter. So, what's behind this craze? Fan Wang reports from Singapore. From the US to the Middle East, sand and dust storms have recently swept across many parts of the world, colouring the skies and leaving people with breathing problems. These storms traditionally originate in vast deserts. However, scientists believe that climate change means more people could be affected - with desertification and melting glaciers, exposing more dust. Maria Zaccaro, a BBC journalist reporting for the Global Journalism Science and Climate team, finds out more. Mumbai in India is one of the most densely populated cities in the world - and it's also the perfect habitat for leopards. BBC Marathi recently posted a video on their YouTube channel, showing these majestic wild cats strolling down residential streets and even entering people's homes. In the past, there were several reports of human-animal conflict, including some deadly attacks. But since 2022 there have been no accidents at all. So how did people and leopards manage to find a way to live together in harmony? Reporter Mayuresh Konnur has the story. This episode of The Documentary comes to you from The Fifth Floor, the show at the heart of global storytelling, with BBC journalists from all around the world. This is an EcoAudio certified production.

One day, nationally acclaimed poet Maria Kelson hit “a poetry wall” for no identifiable reason. “It was frustrating,” she says, “because I had devoted myself to poetry. For 15 years, it was my primary focus.” What happened next–she followed an emerging passion, crime fiction. ‘As i was casting about I thought, I want to explore the dark side.” In this episode we talk with Maria about shedding layers of creative identity, finding new community, art as a way to explore and expose issues of social injustice, and the surprising ways poetry informs her new award-winning thriller.Maria Kelson has two collections of poetry (as Maria Melendez) with University of Arizona Press, which were finalists for the PEN Center USA Literary Award and the Colorado Book Award. NOT THE KILLING KIND is her debut novel. If you're a mystery/thriller reader drawn to strong female leads, the scary beauty of the redwood country, moms who push it to the limit, or crime-fighting ESL teachers, she wrote her debut novel NOT THE KILLING KIND for you! It received the inaugural Eleanor Taylor Bland Award for Crime Fiction Writers of Color from Sisters in Crime and just won the WILLA award for best mystery/thriller. She has served as an American Voices arts envoy in Bogotá, Colombia. A Mexican-American educator from California, Maria lives near Yellowstone. She's writing a new thriller set there. Hey everybody! In this episode, I spoke with Sam Believ. Sam is an interesting guy. I was recently on his podcast and had him on mine. We spoke about Sam's past working as an engineer, his depression that eventually led him to ayahuasca or yagé, and how he eventually founded a center in Colombia. We spoke about these things and some of the culture in Colombia around the traditions and uses of yagé. It was a very interesting conversation and I think you all will gain a lot from Sam's story, his knowledge of yagé and Colombia, and his insights into this medicine. Get ready for an unflinching dive into the world of drug enforcement on this episode of the Mike Ritland Podcast, featuring Wes Tabor—a 35-year law enforcement veteran who spent over two decades with the DEA, operating across the United States, Central America, and South America. With stints embedded alongside the CIA and authorship credits for his eye-opening book Infiltrate America (plus the upcoming Beyond Blurry Lines set for next summer), Wes doesn't hold back as he recounts the brutal realities of his career. Mike and Wes dismantle pop culture myths about DEA agents—no, it's not all black fatigues and window-storming raids. Instead, Wes paints a picture of tedious investigations that turn spy-like overseas, while admitting the agency often fails at public messaging, leaving misconceptions about their focus (hint: they weren't chasing small-time weed dealers, but multi-ton shipments of cocaine and heroin from cartels in Venezuela, Colombia, and Mexico). He pulls no punches on DEA leadership, calling out bureaucratic inertia, "latte commandos," and a culture that stifles real change, drawing parallels to issues plaguing the FBI, ATF, and even the military. Tune in for a masterclass in resilience from a guy who's seen it all—and isn't afraid to call it like it is. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Kevin Key is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel who served with the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment before going through special forces selection and assessment (SFAS) and becoming a Special Forces Officer (18A) with 7th Special Forces Group. He started his military career in the Army National Guard while attending college under the simultaneous membership program (SMP). He served at Special Operations Command - South (SOCSOUTH) and has commanded a unit within the 82nd Airborne Division. At one point in this episode, Kevin recounts Operation Willing Spirit (Colombia version is Operation Jacque) — the effort to locate and verify hostages taken after a 2003 FARC plane was shotdown in Colombia, and how U.S. and Colombian forces used covert tactics (including a fake humanitarian operation) to free captives years later. The episode also traces Key's path post‑military shift into real estate, restaurant/event property ownership (Cosmic Tiki), cattle ranching and writing about carnivore nutrition in his book. __________ Please leave us a review on Apple/Spotify Podcasts: Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/mentors-for-military-podcast/id1072421783 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3w4RiZBxBS8EDy6cuOlbUl #mentors4mil #mentorsformilitary Mentors4mil Links: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/Mentors4mil Patreon Support: https://www.patreon.com/join/Mentors4mil Intro music "Long Way Down" by Silence & Light is used with permission. 1. Trip Recap & Foreign Relations El Salvador:Cruz praises President Nayib Bukele for drastically reducing homicide rates by aggressively targeting gangs like MS-13 and 18th Street. He contrasts El Salvador’s success with U.S. crime and immigration challenges. Panama:He toured the Panama Canal and highlighted U.S. concerns about China’s growing influence there, including ports, bridges, and tunnels near the canal. Cruz warns that China could disrupt canal traffic in a future conflict, threatening U.S. national and economic security. Mexico:Cruz met with senior Mexican officials (Foreign Secretary, Defense Secretary, Agriculture Secretary). He urged cooperation on border security and dismantling drug cartels, stressing Trump’s policies and a reported 99% drop in illegal border crossings. Mexican leaders, including President Claudia Sheinbaum, rejected U.S. military involvement, citing “sovereignty.” Cruz compared Mexico’s stance to El Salvador’s crackdown and Colombia’s Plan Colombia (early 2000s), arguing that success requires political will. He warned that if Mexico refuses, the U.S. may still act militarily against cartels under Trump’s leadership. 2. Domestic Politics & Crime Cruz and Ferguson shift focus to Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, criticizing him for downplaying crime in Chicago. Cruz cites statistics on Chicago’s murder rate (highest in the U.S. for 13 consecutive years) and argues Democrats prioritize criminals over victims. He frames Democrat policies in Illinois, California, and nationally as failures comparable to Mexico’s refusal to confront cartels. 3. Broader Political Commentary Cruz claims Democrats have become the “party of criminals,” siding with offenders over law-abiding citizens. He notes polling showing Americans are highly concerned about crime in cities. Discussion touches on 2025 midterm elections: Republicans may benefit from Democrat extremism. But Cruz worries about a GOP “enthusiasm gap,” citing a special election loss in Iowa. He stresses the need for Republican voter turnout despite Trump’s early policy “successes.” Please Hit Subscribe to this podcast Right Now.
