One of the biggest misconceptions I see when it comes to making money is the belief that you need to start from scratch. A new certification, a brand new idea, or a completely different skill set. But the truth is, most of us already have everything we need. The real problem is not a lack of knowledge, it is not knowing how to package and position what we already know.In this episode, I break down five simple and practical ways to turn your existing skills, experiences, and knowledge into income. Whether you are in between roles, exploring a side hustle, or just trying to make extra money right now, this episode is your reminder that there is value in what you already bring to the table.I also walk through a key mindset shift. You do not need to be the top expert. You just need to be a few steps ahead of the person you are helping. People are not just paying for information. They are paying for clarity, speed, guidance, and confidence. And that is where your opportunity lies.Main TakeawaysYou do not need new skills or certifications to start making moneyThere are five core ways to monetize what you already knowPeople pay for clarity, speed, and guidance, not just expertiseStart with one path and keep it simple instead of trying everythingHighlights Include00:00 – The biggest misconception about making money01:30 – Why you already have valuable, monetizable knowledge02:00 – The 5 ways to make money with what you know03:00 – The mindset shift you need before starting04:00 – Service and coaching as the fastest path to income06:00 – Done-for-you services and why people pay for convenience08:00 – Creating simple digital products that sell10:30 – Workshops and why people pay for real-time learning13:00 – Why reminders are key when selling anything15:00 – Using content to create opportunities and income18:00 – How to use AI without losing your voice21:00 – Why you should pick ONE path and start nowLinks Mentioned in This EpisodeSave the Date: Start the Podcast That Builds Your Exit Plan (Friday, March 20)Watch & ListenWatch this episode on YouTube and listen on all podcast platforms:Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/side-hustle-pro/id1126021323Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/13qDj08lBR4ymzGhXIKy8tYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/sidehustleproAnnouncementsIf you're ready to build a podcast that becomes your exit plan from your 9-to-5, sign up for my next live class: Start the Podcast That Builds Your Exit PlanSave your seat here. This episode felt like such a full-circle moment for me. I'm talking with my former photography mentee, Cortnie Davis, who has grown from an 18-year-old wedding photographer into a thoughtful consultant helping creative entrepreneurs build calmer, more sustainable businesses.Cortnie began her career behind the camera and later added floristry to her creative life. Today she works at the intersection of creativity, systems, and sales, helping wedding professionals and other service-based creatives turn all that invisible behind-the-scenes work into intentional systems that actually support their businesses. With a background in hospitality and years of client-facing experience, Cortnie believes strong processes should feel human and supportive — not rigid or overwhelming. She's equal parts people-obsessed and spreadsheet-loving, and her work focuses on helping creatives build workflows that allow their artistry to thrive. In our conversation, we also reminisce about her early photography days and the moment at a conference when a little encouragement helped her keep going. Hearing how that stayed with her all these years truly touched my heart. We also talk about the powerful mindset shift from scarcity to service, and why documenting your workflows and using tools like HoneyBook and ShootProof can make running a photography business so much easier. In this episode• The moment of encouragement that helped Cortnie stay in photography• Why a service mindset can calm anxiety and make selling feel natural• How documenting your workflows can completely change your business• The importance of personal touches in client communication• Systems and tools that free creatives to focus on what they loveA thoughtful, honest conversation about creativity, burnout, service, and building a photography business that feels calmer, clearer, and more profitable — without losing the human touch. To connect with Cortnie hello@cortniedee.comcortniedee.comConnect with Photography Business Coach Luci Dumas: Website Email: luci@lucidumas.comInstagram FacebookYouTubeNew episodes drop every week — make sure to subscribe so you never miss an inspiring guest or a powerful solo episode designed to help you grow your photography business.

Greg Anderson is a former Army Ranger and deputy U.S. Marshal with two decades in law enforcement and combat, a 3rd-degree black belt, and the owner of one of the most thriving Jiu-Jitsu academies in the Pacific Northwest. His first book, Courage Through Adversity, just dropped. He's also about to row to Hawaii. The Row West Pacific expedition is a four-man team rowing a Ronic 45 from the U.S. coastline to Hawaii — no motor, no support vessel, roughly 60 days at sea. Greg explains why he bought the boat, what 3-on/3-off looks like when there's nowhere to stop, and what the trip is actually about. It's not the craziest thing he's signed up for, but it might be the hardest. We also cover what happens when local government decides your Jiu-Jitsu gym is an illegal operation. The answer involves a $40,000 parking assessment, federally protected buttercups, and a mandatory ratio of rhododendrons to parking spaces. Greg pushed back. It worked. He talks about the book — why he wrote it, what he was actually willing to admit in it, and why authenticity isn't a marketing word. Then we get into cops and Jiu-Jitsu, lying about military service, wealth building, and where he thinks the country is headed. On today's episode of the CLS Experience, host Craig Siegel sits down with relationship teacher and author Lorin Krenn for a powerful conversation about sacred love, embodiment, and truth in conscious partnership. They explore the idea that you are not here to wake others up, but to awaken your own soul and embody your truth so fully that others rise in your presence. Lorin explains why trying to fix or coach your partner often backfires, and how asking permission to share reflections creates co-creation instead of ego conflict. The discussion reframes relationships as vehicles for evolution, describing sacred love as a refining fire that either burns away illusion or strengthens alignment. Each of us has been entrusted with unique gifts, talents, and abilities. Our gifts are blessings from God, given with and for a purpose. In the Gospels, Jesus reminds us not to "bury" the gifts we receive. We will not be measured by what we accumulate, but by what we give away—reflected in our generosity, and the service we offer to others. During the sacred season of Lent, we are called to practice almsgiving—to generously give of ourselves and share our resources to help the poor and suffering. Today, find at least one way to be generous. There is someone who needs you and your attention and timely assistance. Sacrificially, share your God-given gifts. Don't bury them!
The hardest pool problems aren't always in the manual—they show up on the pad when the water won't move, the lid won't budge, and the cleaner sits still like a lawn ornament. We dig into the field fixes that save your day and your lungs, starting with the offline chlorinator that refuses to dissolve tablets. Learn how to open it safely, diagnose the clogged check valve elbow with the “little BB,” and stop hidden leaks by replacing brittle black tubing before it drains a pool dry. If you've ever fought a stuck lid, we explain why trichlor swells o-rings and how a fresh gasket turns a two-man wrestle into a one-minute job.High PSI and poor prime can stall an entire route, so we share the quick backwash that drops pressure in 25 to 30 seconds and brings the system back to life. When your backwash runs oddly clear, we show you the toggle trick that shakes compacted DE loose. Then we tackle the age-old question of how much DE to add back, cutting through wet versus dry confusion with practical recharge amounts that protect grid life and maintain strong flow without overloading the filter. Finally, we turn service into strategy with a cleaner plan that works. Drop in bulletproof demo cleaners like the Hayward Aquanaut or Polaris Max, set variable-speed pump RPMs correctly, and let spotless water sell itself. For budget holdouts, deploy refurbished spares—Navigators, Aquanauts, MX6s and MX8s—to prove the value over time. You'll cut manual vacuuming, keep pools cleaner all week, and win more satisfied clients with less effort. This episode is a little bit of everything and the kind of rambling conversation we love most. We share stories from recent adventures, including a trip to the Walmart Museum in Bentonville, a mission trip to Honduras (yes, there's a cow involved), and a few memorable characters along the way including Abraham the goat. We also talk about some meaningful ways people in our community are serving others, from caregiver support groups to a creative "Egg My Yard" fundraiser that's bringing neighbors together. But in the middle of all the stories, we land on a deeper question: What is a lie you may be believing about yourself, and what does Scripture say is actually true? We talk about the power of encouraging others, calling out the good we see in people, and remembering that God has uniquely gifted each of us to serve. Our March memory verse reminds us: "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." 1 Peter 4:10–11 So whether you're listening for the laughs, the life updates, or the encouragement, we hope this episode reminds you of one simple truth: You were created on purpose, and your life is meant to bless others. About the Show:"A community that buys into its future, buys into its youth, can really create something special." – Coleman WarrenThis episode is part of a special series supported by the Walton Family Foundation. Through their Home Region program, the Foundation is investing in the people and ideas shaping Northwest Arkansas—across housing, entrepreneurship, transportation, and leadership. Before he was a Rhodes Scholar or the co-founder of the Compass Foundation, Coleman Warren was just a kid from Farmington, Arkansas — a small town that had no idea what it was sending out into the world. In this episode of I Am Northwest Arkansas®, Coleman traces the full arc of that journey: from a rural upbringing shaped by teachers and community members who saw something in him, to launching a socially-minded ice cream business that proved you could build something meaningful and mission-driven from the ground up.But it was the experience of stepping into elite spaces — and feeling the weight of being underrepresented in them — that lit the fire behind Compass. Co-founded by Coleman, the Compass Foundation is a mentorship and scholarship program purpose-built for first-generation and low-income students in rural Arkansas. It's not just about financial support. Compass surrounds students with mentors who've walked similar paths, opens doors to real-world experiences they might never encounter otherwise, and does the quieter work of helping young people believe that where they come from is a strength, not a limitation. This is an episode about what's possible when someone who made it decides to reach back — and build something that makes the path a little clearer for everyone who comes next.Key Takeaways:Community Investment Pays Off: Positive investment in young people leads to lifelong returns, both for individuals and their communities. The Power of Mentorship: Having caring adults and mentors can change a student's life, especially for those who may not have guidance at home.Education Beyond Finances: Compass goes past scholarships and includes ACT tutoring, personal development, and capstone experiences like studying abroad or community projects.Importance of Rural Representation: Rural voices are underrepresented in elite spaces, which inspired Coleman to focus on rural student success.Service at the Core: Compass encourages service-oriented mindsets and alumni giving back, sustaining local growth and support systems. Not Just for College-Bound: Compass values students going into trades and non-college career paths, emphasizing leadership, critical thinking, and community-mindedness for all.All this and more on this episode of the I Am Northwest Arkansas® podcast.Important Links and Mentions on the Show*Learn more, donate, or start a chapter: Compass Foundation WebsiteFollow Compass for updates and NWA Gives: Watch for tagged posts on I Am Northwest Arkansas InstagramEmail ColemanCompass Foundation on InstagramCompass Foundation on FacebookCompass Foundation on LinkedInFindItNWA.com NWA's Hyperlocal Business DirectoryThis episode is sponsored by*The Walton Family FoundationThe Walton Family Foundation is, at its core, a family-led foundation. …In the Holy Spirit | We Believe | Rick Atchley by The Hills Church
God's most magnificent plan unfolds not through human power and strength, but through weakness—supremely demonstrated when Jesus willingly submitted to arrest and crucifixion in the Garden of Gethsemane. When we embrace our own weakness and dependence on Christ, we discover that God's power is made perfect in our vulnerability, transforming us into servants who reflect His upside-down kingdom values.Series Summary: The religious leaders at the cross hurled a challenge at Jesus: “Let this Messiah, this King of Israel, come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe.” They demanded proof before faith. But the Gospel of Mark, especially in its story of the Passion, invites us into a different reality: believing in order to see. From the anointing at Bethany to the silent emptiness of the tomb, Jesus' journey subverts our expectations. The one hailed as king is crowned with thorns. The one with power to calm storms submits to arrest. The consistent, sure thread through the chaos is his Word. As the angel at the tomb reminded the trembling women, “He is going ahead of you…just as he told you.” As we study through Mark's Passion, we are invited to follow Jesus—not by sight, but by faith in his sure and leading Word.Add St. Marcus as your church on the Church Center App!Fill out our online connection cardHow can we pray for you? Empowering Professionals and Corporate Culture Through Nonprofit Board Service: Insights from Whitley RichardsIn a recent episode of The Thoughtful Entrepreneur Podcast, host Josh Elledge sat down with Whitley Richards, the CEO of Cause Strategy Partners, to explore the high-impact intersection of corporate talent and social good. Their conversation highlights how nonprofit board service is no longer just an act of charity; it is a strategic vehicle for leadership development and corporate social responsibility (CSR). Whitley explains how her organization bridges the gap between major corporations and the nonprofit sector, ensuring that professionals from companies like Google and JPMorgan Chase are not only placed on boards but are equipped with the governance training necessary to drive real systemic change. The Strategic Triple Win: Professionals, Companies, and CommunitiesFacilitating nonprofit board service creates a powerful synergy that addresses the most pressing pain points for modern business leaders: employee disengagement and the "skills gap." When a company encourages its rising talent to serve on a board, it is essentially outsourcing high-level leadership training to the real world. In the boardroom, professionals must navigate complex challenges such as financial oversight, strategic planning, and consensus-building among diverse stakeholders—all of which are "power skills" that translate directly back to their corporate roles. This hands-on experience often proves more effective than traditional classroom-style leadership retreats, as it places the individual in a position of high-stakes accountability for a cause they genuinely care about. From a corporate perspective, supporting board service is a robust retention tool that satisfies the modern worker's hunger for purpose. Employees who feel their personal values align with their professional environment are significantly more likely to remain loyal and engaged. Furthermore, these placements act as a force multiplier for a company's corporate citizenship. Instead of merely writing a check, a corporation is lending its intellectual capital to the community, building deeper, more authentic ties with local organizations. This proactive approach to corporate citizenship bolsters brand reputation and establishes the company as a pillar of the community, which is increasingly vital in a consumer landscape that rewards social transparency and impact. For the nonprofits involved, the influx of corporate expertise provides a level of professionalization and strategic rigor that can be difficult to acquire otherwise. Cause Strategy Partners uses a technology-driven approach to ensure these matches are based on more than just proximity; they are based on a deep alignment of skills and passion. This ensures that the professional isn't just a figurehead but a high-value contributor who can help the nonprofit navigate resource allocation and organizational direction. By shifting the narrative from "volunteering" to "strategic board service," Whitley and her team are redefining how we think about social impact, creating a sustainable model where every participant walks away with measurable growth and a renewed sense of mission.About Whitley RichardsWhitley Richards is the CEO of Cause Strategy Partners and a recognized leader in the social impact space. With an MPA from NYU Wagner, she has dedicated her career to the belief that the private sector holds the keys to solving many of the world's most difficult social challenges. She oversees the strategic direction of the firm, focusing on expanding the reach of their board placement and governance training programs to empower the next generation of social-impact leaders.About Cause Strategy PartnersCause Strategy Partners is a social enterprise that helps individuals and corporations achieve their greatest social impact. Through their flagship BoardLead program and a suite of governance resources, they match talented professionals with nonprofit board opportunities. By providing rigorous training and technology-powered matching, the firm ensures that nonprofit boards are diverse, skilled, and prepared to lead their organizations toward long-term success.Links Mentioned in This EpisodeCause Strategy Partners Official WebsiteWhitley Richards on LinkedInKey Episode HighlightsThe "Triple Win" Framework: How board service simultaneously benefits the professional, the corporation, and the nonprofit partner.Governance as Leadership Training: Why the boardroom is the ultimate environment for developing emotional intelligence and strategic thinking.Bridging the Purpose Gap: Strategies for companies to retain top talent by facilitating meaningful social engagement.Technology in Placements: The role of data-driven matching in ensuring that board service is high-impact rather than just high-intent.The "My Cause Finder" Tool: A practical resource for individuals to identify where their skills meet the world's needs.ConclusionThe conversation with Whitley Richards underscores that nonprofit board service is a transformative opportunity for professional and organizational growth. By aligning personal passions with strategic service, individuals can develop critical leadership skills while corporations strengthen their culture and community impact.More from The Thoughtful Entrepreneur

In part two of the "Serve-olution" series, Pastor Jeff Gonzalez explores the radical heart of the Kingdom of God. While the world chases prestige, power, and "likes," Jesus models a different path to greatness: the path of the servant. This message challenges us to look beyond our own convenience and see people through the eyes of compassion, revealing that true spiritual maturity is found not in what we receive, but in what we pour out. -- Real greatness in God's Kingdom is found by lowering yourself for the sake of others, not by exalting your own status. -- Humility is not insecurity or weakness; it is strength under control, rooted in a secure identity in Christ. -- Serving like Jesus changes our "prescription," allowing us to see people as souls to love rather than inconveniences to manage. -- A faith that only receives but never releases becomes weak and shriveled; we must exercise our faith through action. -- Service acts as a spiritual mirror, exposing our hidden pride, impatience, and need for recognition so God can heal us. -- Transformation is not about becoming a better version of ourselves, but about becoming more like Christ through the act of serving. Scriptures for Further Study -- Mark 10:43-45 -- John 13:3-5 -- Philippians 2:2-8 -- Matthew 9:36 -- James 1:22-23 +++++++ Join us for church this Sunday. MARRIAGES THAT LAST Ephesians 5.21–33 Gordon Dabbs, PhD The biggest challenge in marriage is that two imperfect people show up expecting the other person to change. Scripture says the strongest marriages happen not when we focus on changing our spouse… but when we focus on surrendering ourselves. Ephesians 5.21-22, 25 (NLT) Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her… 1st key element of a marriage that lasts: SACRIFICE. Am I willing to put my spouse's needs before my own? God's design for marriage is lifelong faithfulness. What about divorce? 1. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate. 2. Divorce is not presented as part of God's ideal. 3. Scripture also recognizes that we live in a broken world where sin damages marriages. Matthew 19.8 (ESV) Because of your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. 2nd element: SERVICE. Ephesians 5.29 (NIV) No one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church. . . 3rd element: SEPARATION. Ephesians 5.31 (ESV) A man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife. 4th element: SAVIOR. The best thing you can do for your marriage is put Jesus right in the middle of it. When these 4 elements are present… you don't just have a marriage that survives. You build a marriage that thrives.Subscribe to PRESTONCREST - with Gordon Dabbs on Soundwise
