Harald Rudolph ist Automobil- und Digitalxeperte und war zuletzt als Leiter der Konzernstrategie der Daimler AG tätig. Alexandra Baum ist Designerin und Unternehmerin. Nach ihrem Modedesign- Studium mit Schwerpunkt kreislauffähige Textilien und nachhaltige Mode an der HAW Hamburg mit Abschluss als Diplom-Designerin zog es die heute dreifache Mutter als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin an die Fachhochschule Hannover, wo sie das Forschungsprojekt EcoMTex „Von der Öko-Nische zum ökologischen Massenmarkt im Bedürfnisfeld Textilien“ an der Fakultät Design betreute. Ihren Karriereweg setzte die gebürtige Gothaerin ab 2005 in der Entwicklung technischer Textilien fort. Sie machte sich 2003 mit dem Produktentwicklungs- und Designbüro novanex selbständig. Zu Ihren Arbeiten in der textilen Produktentwicklung für Industriekunden zählten smarte Textilien, Medizintextilien und Entwicklungen für Automotive. Zum Kundenkreis zählen neben vielen kleinen und mittelständischen Unternehmen auch Philips, Westfalia mobil GmbH oder die Daimler AG. Darüber hinaus war Baum als Design- und Innovations-Beraterin aktiv und hielt Gastvorlesungen an Hochschulen. 2013 entstand die Idee eines textilbasierten Fahrradschlosses, das parallel zu ihrer freiberuflichen Tätigkeit entwickelt wurde. 2016 gründete Alexandra Baum gemeinsam mit ihrer Kollegin Suse Brand die Texlock GmbH in Leipzig. Kern der patentierten Lösung des Fahrradschlosses tex—lock ist der Einsatz von funktionalen Hightech- Textilfasern, welche die tex—lock Fahrradschlösser flexibel und weich wie ein Seil machen. Mehrere verflochtene Hochtechnologiefaser-Verbundschichten übernehmen unterschiedliche Funktionen für den Schutz vor Angriffen mit Schneidwerkzeugen und Feuer sowie der Vermeidung von Lackkratzern. Schutz vor Sägeangriffen wird in der aktuellen Produktgeneration durch den Einsatz eines speziell gehärteten und flexiblen Stahlkerns erreicht. Die Nutzung der gesamten Länge und Flexibilität beim Anschließen an feste Gegenstände und Sichern von Anbauteilen wird durch das sogenannte „Loop Through Prinzip“ von tex—lock ermöglicht. 2019 kam die marktreife Entwicklung der multifunktionalen Regenschutzbekleidung „raijn“ hinzu. raijn lässt sich in Sekundenschnelle von einem Parka in einen Overall verwandeln. Die hochwertige Textilie wurde unter dem Motto „whatever the weather“ als täglicher Begleiter für wetterunabhängige Fahrradmobilität entwickelt. Externe Anerkennung fanden die Texlock-Produkte u.a. bei den German Design Award 2018 und 2021, ISPO Award 2019 sowie dem Eurobike Award in Gold im Herbst 2021. Alexandra Baum ist bis heute Mehrheitsgesellschafterin und Geschäftsführerin der Leipziger Fahrrad-Accessoire Manufaktur Texlock GmbH, die Produktion, Vertrieb und Marketing in einer ehemaligen Pianofabrik in Leipzig umsetzt und über 30 Mitarbeiter*innen beschäftigt.

Madeleine Kern ist studierte Wirtschaftswissenschaftlerin und seit 2020 mit ihrer Personalmarketing Firma selbständig. Zu ihren ehemaligen Arbeitgebern gehört unter anderem die Daimler AG, für die sie fünf Jahre den Bereich University Relations & Academic Policies verantwortete. "Es ist die Rolle des Finanzbereichs, die Transformation zu ermöglichen und zu gestalten." Olaf Schick ist CFO von Mercedes-Benz in China. Er ist gelernter Jurist und arbeitete zunächst als Anwalt in Frankfurt und London. Bei Mercedes-Benz hatte er verschiedene Funktionen im Rechts-, Finanz- und M&A-Bereich inne, u.a. war er CFO bei Mercedes-Benz Russia und Chief Compliance Officer der Daimler AG. Seit Mitte 2020 arbeitet er in seiner jetzigen Funktion in Peking. Ich spreche mit ihm im Podcast daher u.a. über die internationalen Anforderungen an die/den CFO und den Finanzbereich. Moderne CFOs setzen Standards, optimieren und digitalisieren den Finanzbereich. Gleichzeitig sind sie für Olaf Schick Strategen und Impulsgeber, die Chancen und Risiken erkennen. Ein wirkungsvoller Finanzbereich basiert für Olaf Schick auf einem klar definierten Operating Model, unterteilt in Governance, Operations und Performance. Grundlage dafür ist eine integrierte Systemlandschaft als gemeinsame Datenbasis. Mindestens genauso wichtig ist der zugehörige Performance Mindset. Olaf Schick sieht den Finanzer als Treiber und Enabler des Wandels. In der aktuellen Transformation spielt der Finanzbereich eine entscheidende Rolle. Dazu gehört beispielsweise auch, die Gewinnschwelle - trotz höherer variabler Kosten bei der Elektromobilität - abzusenken.

Here are some quotes… “Again this year, the Corporate Knights Global 100 most sustainable corporations are progressing faster than their peers. Members of the MSCI All Country World Index (ACWI), a global equity index, derive just 30% of their earnings from products or services aligned with the Corporate Knights Clean Taxonomy, while 47% of the Global 100 do so (up from 41% last year). Crucially, Global 100 companies are also investing more aggressively in clean technologies and services, with 48% of their capital expenditures, R&D and acquisitions going to clean investments, versus 34% for ACWI… This is reflected in their performance. Electrek and TMC forum member Sunnyvaletree report that Tesla has started delivering the revised Model X to customers, holding at least one event to mark the occasion." reports engadget: "As you might guess, this effectively drags the electric crossover into the modern era with a landscape touchscreen display up front, a smaller display in the back and overall interior quality improvements that are more befitting a nearly $94,000 vehicle. Order a Model X Plaid as of this writing and you'll have to wait until July 2022; spring for the lower-cost Long Range variant and you'll wait until September 2022. It could be a long, long while before you can simply buy the current Model X design and expect to receive it in a timely fashion." Today, the Croatian is the founder and chief executive of Rimac Automobili, a producer of electric hypercars and electric vehicle (EV) drivetrains sold to some of the world's most prestigious carmakers. He is also about to become the CEO of Bugatti, at the age of 33." says Wired: "Once the takeover of Bugatti is complete, Rimac Automobili will share ownership of the historic French brand in a 55/45 split with Porsche. Mate will become CEO of the newly formed Bugatti Rimac.  Despite taking on such a healthy brand, Rimac wants to shake things up “by developing cars that are very different.” As well as a hybrid successor to the mighty Chiron, Rimac has plans to expand Bugatti's vehicle lineup for the first time in generations." Mate says: "I picture it in a way that we have the campus built, that we ship cars every week to customers all around the world, are a leader in high-performance cars, and have truck-loads of batteries and powertrains going to OEMs every day. The car company selected the Merseyside site over one of its plants in Germany for a £200m investment into its e-Drive transmission systems. The systems control power from batteries used to run a vehicle's wheels." reports City AM: "The deal secures the future of the 500 staff members working at the site. They currently make transmissions for petrol Ford vehicles including the Fiesta and Focus, which are then exported to manufacturing plants in Europe." Executives including Young Liu, chairman of Foxconn's flagship unit Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., unveiled the vehicles at the company's Technology Day event in Taipei. Taiwan's Yulon Motor Co. will be Foxconn's first electric-car customer, Lilian Chen, Yulon's chairwoman, said at the Taipei event. Yulon's electric sedan built by Foxconn is set to retail for less than NT$1 million ($35,700,) Liu said" Reuters said: " Autos could ring in roughly $35 billion in sales for Foxconn in five years, executives boldly predicted, and the company has already set a lofty target of supplying components or services to 10% of the world's battery-powered vehicles by 2027. Yesterday's new models, including an electric bus, are expected to hit the market in Taiwan as early as 2022. The aim is to be able to service auto customers and partners, which already include U.S.-based Fisker (FSR.N) and China's Geely, closer to their end users. I was unable to tell the interior colors." - SirIceberg on Youtube STELLANTIS, LG ANNOUNCE JOINT VENTURE TO PRODUCE EV BATTERIES IN NORTH AMERICA "The maker of Jeep SUVs and Ram pickup trucks on Monday said it has entered into a memorandum of understanding with LG Energy Solution to create a joint venture for the production of electric-vehicle battery cells and modules in North America." according to The Detroit News: "The joint venture between Stellantis NV and the Korean battery maker intends to break ground in the second quarter of 2022 on a battery plant for hybrids and EVs assembled in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The plant will have an annual production capacity of 40 gigawatt hours with the goal of starting production by the first quarter of 2024." The report adds: "In Europe, Stellantis has partnered with French oil and gas company TotalEnergies SE and Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz for its Automotive Cells Co. joint venture. A total of three battery plants are planned in France by 2023, Germany by 2025 and Italy by 2030. Altogether, they represent 120 gigawatt hours in annual capacity." CNBC points out: “The batteries produced at the new facility will be supplied to Stellantis' electric vehicle plants in the United States, Canada and Mexico, to support Stellantis' goal of having more than 40% of its U.S. sales consist of e-vehicles by 2030. The plant is targeted to start by the first quarter of 2024 and aims to have an annual production capacity of 40 gigawatt hours." The EQE vehicles are built on a Mercedes-Benz scalable and flexible EVA platform and are expected to spawn several models, including rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive dual-motor variants that will offer at least two battery pack options." Seit dem 16. Dezember 2019 ist die sogenannte EU-Whistleblower-Richtlinie (Richtlinie (EU) 2019/1937 - Richtlinie zum Schutz von Personen, die Verstöße gegen das Unionsrecht melden) in Kraft. Die Frist zur Umsetzung der Richtlinie in nationales Recht läuft noch bis zum 17. Dezember 2021. Ein erster Entwurf liegt seit Ende 2020 vor. In den vergangenen Monaten ist es ruhig geworden um das geplante Hinweisgeberschutzgesetz. Eine Umsetzung vor der Bundestagswahl 2021 ist nicht gelungen. Unabhängig davon, wie eine künftige Regierungskoalition aussehen wird, scheint eine fristgerechte Umsetzung der Richtlinie eher unwahrscheinlich. Unternehmen stehen nun vor der Frage, welche Pflichten gelten und was in einem möglichen Compliance-Fall zu beachten ist, sollte der Gesetzgeber die Umsetzungsfrist versäumen. Shareholders of Daimler AG agreed to realign the company by spinning off its truck and bus unit by the end of the year to form Daimler Truck Holding AG, which will be publicly traded on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Daimler AG will be renamed Mercedes-Benz Group AG effective Feb. 1. Daimler generates about $48.8 billion in revenue and sells more than half a million trucks and buses in a typical year.

It's a totally free marketplace that simplifies the buying and selling process, and help you learn about EVs along the way too.   BIDEN TIGHTENS POLLUTION RULES   - President Biden on Thursday announced a multistep strategy aimed at rapidly shifting Americans from gasoline-powered cars and trucks toward electric vehicles — a central part of his plan to reduce the pollution that is heating the planet.   - The new rules, which would apply to vehicles in the model year 2023, would cut about one-third of the carbon dioxide produced annually by the United States and prevent the burning of about 200 billion gallons of gasoline over the lifetime of the cars, according to a White House fact sheet.   - The administration next plans to draft even more stringent pollution rules for both passenger vehicles and heavy-duty trucks that are designed to compel automakers to ramp up sales of electric vehicles.   - Mr. Biden, who announced the plan from the South Lawn of the White House before an array of parked electric vehicles, including the Ford F150 Lightning, the Chevrolet Bolt EV and a Jeep Wrangler.   - Mr. Biden wants to retool and expand the domestic supply chain so that the batteries that are essential to electric vehicles are also made in American factories.   - He also signed an executive order that calls for the government to try to ensure that half of all vehicles sold in the United States be electric by 2030.   - The tailpipe emissions regulations enacted by the Obama administration in 2012 required that passenger vehicles sold by automakers achieve an average of roughly 51 miles per gallon by 2025. Mr. Trump loosened the standard in 2020 to about 44 miles per gallon by 2026. On Thursday President Biden stood alongside the leaders of the big three U.S. auto makers and the president of the United Auto Workers as he announced his goal that half of all new cars sold by 2030 would produce no tailpipe pollution and directed the Environmental Protection Agency to begin developing new standards for cars, trucks and buses. The Biden administration has unified manufacturers, labor and environmental groups behind a common purpose: to accelerate the manufacturing of zero-emitting vehicles and the economic, health and climate benefits they will provide.   - Mr. Biden is also sending an unmistakable sign that the U.S. intends to lead in developing zero-emitting vehicles—a signal that will provide the long-term certainty that manufacturers need to plan. It should be obvious by now that climate change is creating havoc and destruction across the globe. It will take dramatic action to cut greenhouse gas emissions enough to prevent a climate catastrophe. But he did so without the world's largest maker of EVs: Tesla. Joining Biden were executives from General Motors (GM) and Ford (F), as well as Stellantis, the company formed by the merger earlier this year of Fiat Chrysler and France's PSA. But electric vehicles are only a sliver of these companies' US sales — 1.5% for GM and 1.3% for Ford so far this year, and Stellantis doesn't have any pure EVs for sale on US soil yet.   - One potential reason for the apparent snub: The United Auto Workers union will also be at the ceremony. The UAW represents workers at GM, Ford and Stellantis, but has been battling, so far unsuccessfully, to organize Tesla workers at the EV maker's plant in Fremont, California.   - Volkswagen (VLKAF), which has surpassed Tesla in EV sales in Europe so far this year, is due to start building an EV for the US market at its Chattanooga, Tennessee, plant in 2022. But the UAW has twice failed to win union representation votes at that plant. You may recall that IONITY was founded by BMW Group, Daimler AG, Ford Motor Company and the Volkswagen Group through Porsche AG, with Hyundai Motor Group also joining later.   - It's not only the size of the network that's lagging; Herbert Diess points out that the stations are lacking in other areas, including reliability and restrooms.   - Too few charging points on the burner! Only 4 - of course, everyone stops at the shopping center. Occupied. So continued to Trento. Specifically, Sila Nano is helping Mercedes increase energy density by using silicon-carbon composite in the anode, which should boost range and allow for shorter charging times. Daimler AG's plan to spin off its truck division has earned praise throughout the industry since its announcement last week. But perhaps no one is happier than the man in charge of the company's global truck operations. Martin Daum, head of the Germany-based Daimler Trucks, didn't hide his excitement in an interview with Transport Topics. He said, “I was pushing for this for years and finally it came. It's a dream come true.”

The prototype is expected to be completed early next year."Exascale" means it will be capable of making a quintillion calculations per second. One quintillion is written as 1 followed by 18 zeros. That is at least 10 times faster than the world&`&s current speed champ, the Sunway Taihu-Light, China&`&s first supercomputer to use domestically designed processors. The new computer will be available for public use and can help tackle some of the world&`&s toughest scientific challenges with greater speed, as well as better precision and scope. Tianhe-3 will be made entirely in China, from processors to the operating system. It will be stationed in Tianjin and will be fully operational by 2020, earlier than the same product planned in the United States. But they will encounter disappointment unless they avoid or remove the costly speed bumps ahead.Some of these services are Gofun Chuxing launched by Beijing Shouqi Group and Car2go under the automobile giant Daimler AG.The sharing cars, mostly powered by electricity are in good condition, and can be ready for first-time users in minutes once they finish the required registration via the service app. In some cases they cost less than taking a cab. One of the companies offers services for a refundable deposit of 700 yuan, roughly 100 U.S. Dollars. Following that, a passenger has to pay only 1 yuan per kilometer and 0.1 yuan per minute for a ride.However, like their bike-sharing counterparts such as Mobike, the car-sharing apps are struggling to keep illegal parking in check and bring unruly users out of the dark. There are also worries that traffic accidents involving these vehicles become more complicated issues.This is Special English.Archaeologists have discovered a cluster of tombs with boat-shaped coffins that are 2,200 years old.The tombs were found in southwest China&`&s Sichuan Province. A total of 60 tombs are scattered in an area of 10,000 square meters.The boat-shaped coffins are made of nanmu, a precious wood for making furniture and coffins.Archeological diggings have been finished on 47 of the tombs.Archaeologists say the site was the graveyard of an ancient indigenous tribe called Shu, which was part of the Shu Kingdom.The discoveries include more than 300 pieces of pottery, bronze, iron and bamboo items as well as weapons, coins and a dozen marking seals.In one of the tombs, ten bamboo baskets of well-preserved grain were found, as well as a string of crystal beads surrounding the waist of the occupant. Scientists say the delicate crystals indicate that the occupant was a wealthy person and the crystals had probably been imported from other countries via the Silk Road.As the area is surrounded by ruins of ancient salt wells, experts say the occupant was possibly a salt administration official.
