Read transcriptEvery kid who ever begged a parent for money to hit GameStop on release day understands the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship series in their bones: it's the same card game, sold back to you once a year, wearing a slightly fancier hat each time. Konami ran this bit from 2003 to 2006 with the discipline of a Swiss watchmaker and the restraint of absolutely nobody when it came to naming the things. Four games! Four years! Somehow four completely different amounts of the word “World Championship” crammed into each title! And somewhere in that run, things got weird. By the last entry, Konami had apparently decided Yugi, Kaiba, and the rest of the cast had done enough work, and quietly let you duel the actual monster cards instead, like the whole show got replaced by its own trading cards in some kind of legal dispute. There's also a tiny RPG town nobody asked for, a cartridge somehow refereeing six languages at once, and just enough real cardboard cards taped inside the box that there's a real argument the packaging outsold the game. Grabbing a seat at the table to help me sort genuine dueling nostalgia from pure cardboard-fueled compulsion is William Morgan, host of The Geek Gauntlet Podcast, self-billed as the fastest hour in podcasting, a claim that tracks given how fast he and the crew burn through a week's worth of comics, movies, anime, and gaming news. So keep an eye on your Life Points, don't forget your face-downs, and let's find out if the World Championship series was Konami's finest run of Game Boy dueling, or just years of very well-packaged déjà vu. Learn such things as: Why do I think this is so weird but yearly sports games aren't? How far back into a game's ruleset can you go if you weren't there when it was current? Who bought the game for the game, and who bought it just for the included card? And so much more! You can find William on The Geek Gauntlet Podcast. Welcome back to Cannabis School! This week's Sesh begins with a simple idea that opens the door to a much bigger conversation: people are people, and life may be better when we stop treating every issue like a team sport.Brandon and Jesse explore the labels we place on ourselves and others. A label may help explain part of your experience, but it can also become a box—a reason to believe you cannot grow beyond certain limits. The guys discuss ADHD, identity, self-awareness, and the difference between understanding yourself and using a diagnosis as an excuse. That leads into storytelling, audiobooks, and why reading with emotion can transform words on a page into something alive. Naturally, the conversation takes a quick trip through Dune, video games, and questionable websites before landing on the evening's most expensive lesson. After consuming cannabis, one of the guys gets pulled into a shopping app designed to turn purchasing into a game. A few confusing taps later, an unexpected $88 charge appears. The order gets canceled, but the mistake creates something more valuable: an opportunity for calm, honest communication between partners.Instead of becoming defensive, they slow down, clarify what happened, and make room for frustration without turning it into a fight. Sometimes “I'm fine” does not mean everything is fine—and asking one more thoughtful question can change the entire conversation. From there, the Sesh moves into how other people experience us, releasing old resentment, expressing emotion through art, and learning to observe our behavior before reacting. The guys also examine modern consumerism, smartphones, digital addiction, impulse purchases, and the strange tradeoffs that come with having nearly everything available through one screen.Of course, no Sesh stays completely serious. Expect detours into Nokia brick phones, sending 46,000 text messages in one month, Nintendo, PlayStation, GameStop, motorcycle helmets, Dune: Awakening, and the usual Cannabis School nonsense. This episode is about becoming more present: with your money, your relationships, your technology, and yourself. In this episode:• People, politics, and the problem with picking teams• When personal labels become limiting beliefs• ADHD, identity, and self-awareness• Reading with emotion and telling better stories• Cannabis and an accidental online purchase• Communicating without becoming defensive• Why “I'm fine” may deserve another question• How other people experience us• Releasing old resentment and changing your perspective• Creativity as an expression of emotion• Smartphones, consumerism, and digital addiction• Buying games versus actually playing them• Nintendo, PlayStation, and GameStop• Being more intentional with money and technologyFind everything in one place here:
Ryan Cohen may pull the $56 billion eBay bid. Bloomberg reported Monday that GameStop is weighing a partnership instead, opening roughly 1,600 stores to eBay for cards and collectibles while taking board seats. Reuters could not independently verify it. The 9.8% stake GameStop disclosed in July is what makes the governance ask possible.QVC is out of Chapter 11 with more than $5 billion less debt, a $600 million ABL facility, and Mike George back as interim CEO. Creditors took equity and equity took seats. The one name worth watching built TikTok Shop.Numerator puts 22% of US households on a GLP-1, double the October 2023 reading. Those households spend almost 4% less at grocery after a year, pulling out of pantry staples and into protein and skin care. Nearly two-thirds of former users quit inside six months.Shein's Hong Kong IPO filing shows US revenue down more than 3%, Q1 US sales down 14%, and a $99 million quarterly loss against $395 million a year earlier. Join our champion program: mark@themomentumcompany.comAttend a Thriving Leader event: https://thriving-leader-2026.lovable.app/Instagram: @the.momentum.companyLinkedIn: /momentum-companyIn this episode of The Intentional Agribusiness Leader, Mark sits down with entrepreneur, inventor, creative strategist, retired professional rodeo cowboy, and FullBucket Health co-founder Robo Hendrickson. What begins as a conversation about entrepreneurship quickly becomes a masterclass on intentionality, focus, AI, innovation, and building a business that truly matters.Robo shares one of the biggest shifts in his career. For years, Robo considered himself an opportunist. He was constantly finding new ideas, launching businesses, pursuing partnerships, and chasing the next opportunity. At one point, he had eleven different ventures competing for his attention. Then one question changed everything:What if being intentional mattered more than being opportunistic? That realization led Robo to clear his plate, walk away from good opportunities, and focus his energy on the few things that mattered most.Sometimes success isn't about adding more. It's about having the courage to burn the boats behind you.The conversation moves into Mark's three-part definition of intentional leadership:Be deliberate.Be decisive.Be uniquely who you were created to be.Rather than copying someone else's leadership style, intentional leaders discover their own voice and lead from a place of authenticity.Robo also shares remarkable stories from his entrepreneurial journey. From helping build Sony's first website during the early days of the internet to creating innovative training systems for retail sales teams, Robo reflects on what it was like to pioneer technology before most people understood its potential. The lesson?Great innovators don't wait until they have all the answers. They start building anyway. The conversation naturally shifts to artificial intelligence.Mark and Robo compare today's AI revolution to the birth of the internet—filled with excitement, uncertainty, skepticism, and incredible opportunity.Rather than fearing AI, they encourage leaders to become students of it.Technology will continue to change, but leaders who remain curious and intentional will always have an advantage. One particularly practical discussion centers around how AI is already transforming sales. From coaching conversations and improving emails to helping new salespeople learn faster, AI isn't replacing great salespeople—it's accelerating their growth. The leaders who learn how to work alongside AI will outperform those who ignore it.The second half of the episode explores Robo's return to agriculture through FullBucket Health. After years serving global brands like Sony, GameStop, XM Satellite Radio, and Blockbuster, Robo realized something important:It doesn't matter what you do nearly as much as who you do it with. That realization led Robo back to agriculture alongside two visionary veterinarians, where together they built a company focused on improving animal health through science-backed nutrition and probiotics. The conversation dives into emerging research surrounding gut health, inflammation, the microbiome, and how improving animal health starts from the inside out. It's a fascinating look at where veterinary medicine—and human health—is headed. The episode closes with one of the most inspiring parts of Robo's story.Through FullBucket Health's one-for-one giving program, every product sold helps provide nutritional support to working animals in Guatemala and other developing countries.More than 28 tons of supplements have been distributed while veterinary students and professionals work together to improve animal health, educate families, and create lasting impact in rural communities. It's a reminder that great businesses don't simply create profit. They create purpose.Listen if you are:Struggling with too many opportunities and not enough focusBuilding a business around purpose instead of profitCurious about how AI is changing leadership and salesLeading innovation inside your organizationInterested in entrepreneurship and brand buildingLooking to make a meaningful impact beyond your businessThe most successful leaders don't chase every opportunity—they intentionally choose the few that align with their purpose, then give them everything they've got.
Tykr founder Sean Tepper on why most investor accounts stall at $5K, and the system that gets people past it.Sean Tepper is the founder of Tykr, a tool that turns stock picking into a simple green, gray, or red signal. Jack and Sean dig into why the average brokerage account sits around $5,000 while the average Tykr account is over $120,000, and why Sean is convinced the real gap is confidence, not intelligence or luck. They also cover the 4M framework for evaluating a stock, how Tykr avoided the GameStop and AMC meme stock traps, and what it actually took to turn a personal Excel spreadsheet into a real SaaS company with paying customers.Key topics:The traffic light system that removes guesswork from picking a stockThe 4M framework: math, meaning, moat, and managementWhy confidence, not returns, is the real driver of investor behaviorThe free equation you can run in Excel without any tool at allWhat broke first when a personal spreadsheet became a companyAbout Sean Tepper:Sean is the founder of Tykr, a stock analysis platform built on a simple scoring system that helps everyday investors decide when a stock is on sale, fairly priced, or overpriced. They compare notes on what's hitting, what's surprising, and what's keeping them hooked. In industry news, the Japanese Patent Office delivered a rare moment of public sass by rejecting Nintendo's Palworld‑related patent — signaling frustration with the ongoing legal battle. The guys then break down Nintendo's argument that Switch 2 customers have no right to U.S. tariff refunds because they “received exactly what they paid for,” a stance raising eyebrows across consumer rights discussions. Next, they dive into comments from the GameStop CEO, who claims Sony going disc‑less is “totally irrelevant,” noting physical software makes up only 12% of the company's business. The conversation expands into what this means for retail, collectors, and the future of physical media. The episode also features hands‑on impressions of Xbox Back‑Compat for PC — a new initiative launching with four classic games and potentially signaling a broader preservation push from Microsoft. To wrap things up, the Inflation Deflation Game of the Week spotlights Greendog: The Beached Surfer Dude! on Sega Genesis, as John and Ryan debate whether this tropical platformer is a hidden gem or just a relic of its era. Welcome to another edition of Retail Roundup—your weekly brief helping retail leaders decode the biggest shifts in retail, AI, and commerce. In this week's episode, Jeremy sits down with Martin Bailie (MWB Advisory) and Kimberly Morgan (The Fashion Tech Exec) to break down how three major retail moves signal a definitive shift away from safe, superficial trends toward bold execution. INSIDE THE EPISODE: - Marketplaces As Infrastructure: GameStop's CEO Ryan Cohen put $500M of his own capital toward acquiring eBay (a company 5x GameStop's size). Regardless of the outcome, it shows massive conviction in combining physical store networks with marketplace scale to power modern commerce. - Practical AI Execution: Instacart acquired computer-vision startup Arpalus to track shelf inventory in real time. Shoppers will experience fewer substitutions and out-of-stock items. (For more on Instacart's infrastructure moves, check out our interview with the Chief Commercial Officer, Ryan Hamburger, here) - Profits Over Growth: Reformation's $1B IPO filing will test public market appetite for direct-to-consumer brands. The standards have changed: investors now prioritize healthy margins, sane customer acquisition costs, and durable unit economics over raw expansion. Different headlines, same story. Safe, incremental moves aren't cutting it anymore. Moving ahead right now takes clear strategy, strong execution, and real financial discipline.

Financial journalist and author of the new book 1929, Andrew Ross Sorkin, joins Sam to talk about the parallels between 1929 and now and, and how while history does repeat itself, there are some comparisons that don't work. Sam explains Soul Cycle vs. Peloton, they rehash the Gamestop frenzy, why the lottery is a “tax on the stupid,” and get rich quick schemes. They unpack what Venezuela means for the American economy, and Sam begs Andrew to make a period piece out of his new book even though it would break the bank. If you are looking for a review of the odyssey, you wont find it here, but we have other exciting news. Like Disney cuts Pixar staff, even after making a billion dollars. Or Is Nintendo justified in telling consumers to stuff it after tariff refunds? PlayStation ain't budging on ditching discs, and some sales numbers back them up. But hey, at least we got a trailer for Avengers Doomsday!

Whoa, Shuhei! We’ve got a lot to talk about. Stack it up and feel the power of a dynamic duo! Join Tricky and Alex as they discuss, among other things, Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven, Assassin’s Creed Rogue and Marathon. What’s more, we delve into Sony Computer Entertainment’s PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium July catalog additions, and we ponder GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen’s comments on the company’s shrinking dependence on game sales. As a reminder, GameStop, despite selling the discs to further our hobby, has never been a friend to gamers. If you needed more evidence, then Cohen has provided all you need to hear. Power to the players? Power to the players my ass! And if you think that’s all, then you’ve got another thing coming! As usual, the news is full of surprises. We hit the high notes, and we hit the low notes, but we’ll always bring the banter. What are you waiting for? Dive in! As always, the opinions fly fast and heavy! Look out for this super-sized show, as the seemingly smallest conversation veers off into a multiverse of chit-chat. Sounds cool, huh? That’s the fancy way of saying “derailment.” And there’s plenty of that to go around! Let’s dance, Heroes of the XMB! ...For Summer! It's End of Term but rather than watch films in our own clothes all day while the teachers neck vodkas in the staff room we decided we'd smack one more episode out of the park for YOU! So this week we briefly gloss over the football, despite EA being right again, and discuss yet more physical media axing shenanigans (that GameStop doesn't care about), CoD lobby 'banter', a Mii return, The Charles Cecil Patented Sleep Technique and what exactly is a Tōkon, Gillen?? There's also Summer Holiday plans, definitely not a review of Pragmata but you do get a brief review of Develop:Brighton, using Wiki to read the plots of things we can't be bothered to watch/play/read/continue with (if it's not already been called this then I'm starting here: WikiSkipping!), Andy Burnham's plans for gaming and, AND, a load of your blooming lovely letters!! Thank you, all! So, yes, it's now the Summer Holidays and you'll have to amuse yourselves until we return in September but please don't be strangers! Many will see it as a deflection from the bigger problem, and perhaps it is for XBOX, but the reality is, Bethesda essentially confirmed their major franchise slate for the foreseeable future. Starfield is still getting content, and Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas remasters are real; The Obsidian Fallout game is also confirmed, Fallout 5 is officially in pre-production but is still coming after Elder Scrolls VI. Does this really do anything for Sean and Marc with all these games coming at some point? Also, there's further evidence at least from the United States side of why Sony has gone this NO DISC route, and even Gamestop calls them irrelevant. Do we still believe this could be turned back? Plus, Take Two Interactive could be in the business of buying other studios, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced apparently didn't use the original code, actual XBOX devs have spoken out about Xbox Game Pass behind the scenes, EA wants in-game ads to become defacto in gaming, and more! You can also watch this episode in video form on the W2M Network Youtube Channel, please give us a like, comment on the episode, and give the channel a subscribe and follow as well: https://youtube.com/live/26pzk7CMby8Listen as a podcast and give us a review on these platforms... This week on AwesomeCast 788, Sorg, Katie Dudas, and Dave Podnar explore the growing appeal of retro technology, screen-free devices, customizable gadgets, and digital tools that give users more control. Katie begins with Mama's Night Off, a browser game inspired by Dungeon Crawler Carl and the Maeve Chocolate Dirty Shirley bar. Dave introduces Garmin's new screenless fitness tracker, an alternative to smartwatches and subscription-heavy wearables. Sorg shares his experience setting up RetroArch on Apple TV, including its wide range of supported systems, open-source games, ROM management, controllers, and the tinkering required to make everything work. The conversation expands into the tension between digital convenience and physical ownership. The hosts discuss GameStop's response to Sony's physical-media decisions, the rapid progress of PlayStation 5 emulation, and why consumers are returning to CDs, vinyl, cassettes, retro games, and other physical formats. They also have an extended discussion about generative AI, creative production, AI-assisted image editing, automation tools, corporate responsibility, electrical-grid pressures, and the rapid construction of data centers. The hosts examine the difference between rejecting AI entirely and learning how to use it responsibly while still demanding accountability from businesses and government. Later, the show looks at NASA's Psyche spacecraft capturing a Mars flyby, Pittsburgh movie history through the Pastfinders app, a minimalist flip phone for people who want fewer distractions, a development board that turns old Nintendo Wii Remotes into customizable controllers, and Google Photos restoring a traditional search option alongside Ask Photos. Stories and Gadgets Discussed Awesome Things of the Week Mama's Night Off and the Maeve Chocolate Dirty Shirley Bar Katie shares a browser-based game connected to Dungeon Crawler Carl. Players fire magical projectiles at cherries to help create Mama's Dirty Shirley. The hosts discuss the game's intentionally retro presentation and voice work by Jeff Hays. Play the game and view the chocolate bar: https://maevechocolate.com/products/virgin-dirty-shirley/?game Garmin's Screenless Fitness Tracker Dave introduces Garmin's wearable fitness tracker designed without a screen. The device offers health and activity tracking without requiring users to wear a full smartwatch. The hosts discuss its approximately ten-day battery life, Garmin Connect compatibility, optional Garmin Connect+ subscription, and Garmin's reputation for durable hardware and direct fitness feedback. Engadget: https://www.engadget.com/2219713/garmin-finally-made-a-screenless-fitness-tracker/ Garmin product information: https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/1989182/#specs RetroArch on Apple TV Sorg explains how RetroArch can turn an Apple TV into a multi-system retro-gaming device. The software supports numerous systems, including Nintendo, Sega, arcade, PlayStation-era platforms, and older computer games. The hosts discuss Bluetooth controllers, open-source games, shareware versions of Doom and Wolfenstein, storage limitations, organizing ROM libraries, and troubleshooting incompatible files. Apple App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/retroarch/id6499539433 Supported platforms: https://www.retroarch.com/?page=platforms Awesome Person of the Week Ralph Teetor and the Invention of Cruise Control Dave highlights engineer Ralph Teetor, who became blind as a child and later earned engineering degrees. Frustrated by the repeated acceleration and deceleration of drivers, Teetor developed an early version of cruise control. The hosts discuss the evolution from basic speed control to adaptive cruise control and its relationship to modern driver-assistance systems. Teetor later served as president of the Society of Automotive Engineers, and an SAE award for educators bears his name. Automotive Hall of Fame: https://automotivehalloffame.org/honoree/ralph-r-teetor/ Chachi Says Video Game Minute Playing GTA III and Vice City Inside GTA: San Andreas A PC mod allows players controlling CJ in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas to walk up to an in-game television and launch GTA III or Vice City. The hosts compare the concept to a video-game version of Inception. https://www.tomshardware.com/video-games/pc-gaming/gta-3-and-vice-city-are-now-playable-inside-san-andreas-a-mod-lets-you-revisit-liberty-city-and-vice-city-without-leaving-san-andreas GameStop's CEO Responds to the Decline of Physical Games GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen argues that Sony reducing physical-disc support will not significantly hurt the company because new video-game sales represent a relatively small portion of its business. The discussion includes GameStop's continued interest in eBay and the changing economics of physical game retail. https://www.ign.com/articles/gamestop-ceo-ryan-cohen-insists-sony-killing-physical-discs-doesnt-matter-at-all-because-video-game-sales-make-up-so-little-of-his-business PlayStation 5 Emulation Progress Developers are making progress booting PlayStation 5 titles through multiple emulation projects. Two-dimensional games are advancing more quickly, while fully rendering complex three-dimensional games remains a significant challenge. The story sparks a broader conversation about game preservation, physical ownership, digital licensing, and consumer distrust. https://www.tomshardware.com/video-games/playstation/ps5-emulation-ramps-up-in-wake-of-sonys-end-to-physical-media-ps5-titles-now-booting-across-different-emulators-with-rapid-community-development-for-both-2d-and-3d-games AI, Creative Work and Data Centers The hosts discuss the growing use of AI-assisted tools in image editing, video production, business documents, email, captions, background extension, and design mockups. Sorg explains how AI can help reformat posters for different social-media dimensions without replacing the original creative work. The discussion distinguishes generative AI from other machine-learning tools, such as automated transcription, rotoscoping, search, and image organization. Dave raises concerns about social-media challenges potentially being used to gather free voice-training data. The group discusses how Google, Adobe, Canva, and other platforms increasingly build AI functions directly into existing software. The hosts argue that professionals cannot simply ignore the technology, but they should evaluate where it is appropriate and disclose its use when needed. The discussion also addresses the electrical demands of new data centers, corporate incentives, local government decisions, environmental protections, grid capacity, and the disproportionate placement of industrial infrastructure near lower-income communities. Their central argument is that rapid technological growth must be accompanied by accountability, regulation, public representation, and responsible development. NASA Psyche Mars Flyby NASA's Psyche spacecraft used a Mars flyby as a gravitational assist while traveling deeper into the solar system. The mission captured detailed images and a time-lapse view of Mars during the maneuver. Dave highlights the value of scientific exploration driven by curiosity and the desire to understand more about the universe. https://science.nasa.gov/blogs/psyche/2026/07/17/nasas-psyche-mission-delivers-mars-flyby-data-time-lapse-video/ Pittsburgh Bridges on Film and Pastfinders Sorg highlights a collaboration between Pastfinders and the Pittsburgh Film Office focused on Pittsburgh bridges featured in movies and television. Examples discussed include locations connected to Mayor of Kingstown, Sweet Girl, Jack Reacher, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Dark Knight Rises, Dogma, The Silence of the Lambs, and Mindhunter. The hosts discuss how the Pastfinders app sends location-based notifications about historical sites, movie locations, landmarks, and unusual local stories. Pastfinders: https://www.pastfinders.app/ Pittsburgh Film Office bridge-tour post: https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=1458603939638716&set=pcb.1458603999638710 The Light Flip Minimalist Phone The hosts examine a modern minimalist flip phone inspired by classic designs. It uses physical buttons, T9-style typing, a small screen, and a dedicated operating system rather than standard Android. The group discusses the appeal for people who want calls, messages, navigation, and limited apps without carrying a high-powered smartphone. They also consider whether younger users might adopt simpler phones to reduce social-media use and screen time. https://9to5google.com/2026/07/21/light-flip-minimalist-phone-announcement/ OpenMote: Repurposing the Nintendo Wii Remote Sorg introduces OpenMote, a drop-in development board that turns a Nintendo Wii Remote into a customizable controller. Demonstrations include pointing the remote at lamps to control them. The hosts brainstorm uses for smart-home controls, games, production equipment, lighting effects, custom 3D-printed controllers, and event technology. OpenMote: https://openmote.io/?utm_source=ig&utm_medium=social&utm_content=link_in_bio Instagram demonstration: https://www.instagram.com/reels/Da8p5B7PNKP/ OpenMote Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/openmote.io/ Google Photos Restores Classic Search Google Photos is adding an option that lets users choose between the newer Gemini-powered Ask Photos experience and a more traditional search interface. The hosts discuss why some users prefer entering straightforward terms rather than asking an AI-generated question. The change becomes an example of why providing a choice can reduce frustration when companies add AI to familiar products. https://9to5google.com/2026/07/20/google-photos-classic-search-toggle/ Also Discussed The return of CDs, vinyl records, cassettes, retro games, and physical media. The difference between owning digital media and licensing access to it. Consumer distrust of large technology companies. The space required to store large physical-media collections. Using Gemini to interpret business acronyms and generate a first draft of a statement of work. Severe-weather alerts and Katie briefly leaving the podcast during a tornado warning. Dave's upcoming races, including the Two-Face Race and Trick or Trot 5K. The next AwesomeCast interview with Spotter Global and its technology for detecting drones and identifying operators. Are you looking to save time, make money, and start winning with less risk? Then head to https://www.ovtlyr.com.Learn more about OVTLYR: https://youtu.be/TUCbD5KovlcThe market still looks bullish on the surface... but underneath? The cracks are starting to show. Breadth is weakening, bond yields are climbing, and more stocks are quietly flipping to sell signals. The question isn't whether the market can keep going higher... it's whether you're buying at the right time or showing up after everyone else already has. This conversation dives into one of the biggest mistakes traders make—chasing the hottest sectors after they've already exploded higher. Using OVTLYR's new Sector Intelligence Map, the discussion breaks down how to identify industries that are just beginning to gain momentum instead of becoming the last buyer before the crowd heads for the exits. There's also a fascinating look at why buying the rip often beats buying the dip, and how market cycles repeat themselves over and over. One of the biggest takeaways has nothing to do with predicting the future. It's about stacking probabilities in your favor. Instead of chasing headlines or following the herd, the episode explains how sector rotation, buy signal participation, and disciplined risk management can help traders stay ahead of the crowd while avoiding the emotional trap of buying at peak greed. There's also a complete market update covering SPY, QQQ, market breadth, bond yields, equal-weight performance, active portfolio management, Roblox, Coca-Cola, Apple, GameStop, Box, and how professional traders stick to their plan—even during frustrating drawdowns.✅ SPY, QQQ, market breadth, and bond yield analysis✅ OVTLYR Sector Intelligence Map and sector rotation strategies✅ Why buying the rip beats buying the dip✅ Portfolio updates with Apple, Roblox, GameStop, Box, and Coca-Cola✅ Trading psychology, risk management, and avoiding the herd mentalityIf you've ever bought a stock right before it started falling... or wondered how professionals spot strong sectors before everyone else does... this episode is packed with lessons you can apply immediately.Subscribe to OVTLYR for disciplined trading strategies that actually make sense.

Are you looking to save time, make money, and start winning with less risk? Then head to https://www.ovtlyr.com.Learn more about OVTLYR: https://youtu.be/TUCbD5KovlcEveryone loves talking about winning trades... but almost nobody talks about what happens in between. The drawdowns. The losing streaks. The moments where it feels like your strategy has completely stopped working. That's where most traders quit... and that's exactly why most traders never make it.This conversation dives deep into what professional investing actually looks like. Why stop losses exist to protect your capital instead of limiting your profits. Why one big winner can completely erase dozens of small losses. And how proper position sizing can keep you in the game long enough for your edge to finally play out. There's also a fascinating comparison between trading and gold mining that perfectly explains why consistency always beats chasing the next hot stock. One of the biggest takeaways from this episode is learning to trust the probabilities instead of your emotions. The discussion breaks down Monte Carlo simulations, expectancy, and why even winning strategies experience painful losing streaks. In this episode of the Via Stoica Podcast we examine one of the most common and costly habits in modern life: the blame game, and what Stoic philosophy says about how to break it.Welcome to the Via Stoica Podcast, the podcast on Stoicism. This episode is an honest look at how blame keeps us stuck, why it feels so comfortable, and what taking real responsibility for our lives actually looks like in practice. The shift did not happen overnight. A teacher approaching retirement described how in her early years, parents would tell underperforming children to work harder. Over time, that finger moved from the child to the teacher, from the self to everything outside it. That shift is not just happening in schools. It is happening in our relationships, our careers, and our inner lives.Epictetus placed blame squarely on the discipline of assent; we are not adding the correct judgment to what is happening. The discipline of desire reminds us that chasing externals makes blaming externals inevitable. And Epictetus described three stages of progress: the beginner blames everyone else, the intermediate blames themselves, and the advanced person simply does the work. The moment you stop blaming is the moment you start growing.Support the showviastoica.comYouTube: @viastoicaProduced by: Badmic.comNote: In the episode, I attributed the three stages of blame to Marcus Aurelius. This is actually from Epictetus, Enchiridion 5. The wisdom is the same; the source just needed correcting.

Then head to https://www.ovtlyr.com.Learn more about OVTLYR: https://youtu.be/TUCbD5KovlcNobody likes talking about losing money... but every serious trader eventually has to face it. Drawdowns are part of the game. The question isn't whether they'll happen... it's what you'll do when they do.This conversation gets into the reality of professional trading. Why even traders who make hundreds of percent in a year still struggle emotionally through drawdowns. Why chasing losses almost always makes things worse. And why the traders who survive aren't the ones who never lose... they're the ones who know exactly how much they're willing to lose before they ever enter a trade. There's a powerful lesson throughout this episode that goes far beyond the charts. Great trading isn't about predicting every move. It's about controlling your emotions, sticking to your rules, reducing risk whenever possible, and trusting a system even when results aren't going your way. The market doesn't owe anyone a win... but discipline gives you a chance to still be standing when the big winners finally arrive. There's also a full portfolio walkthrough covering real trades, Apple option rolls, GameStop, Roblox, Robinhood, Coca-Cola, and Box, plus a deep discussion on position sizing, risk management, trading psychology, and lessons from professional trader Lance Breitstein on handling drawdowns without letting emotions take over.✅ How professional traders handle drawdowns without panicking✅ Trading psychology, emotional discipline, and risk management✅ Apple option rolling strategy and reducing portfolio risk✅ Real trade management with GameStop, Roblox, Robinhood, Box, and more✅ Building a trading plan that survives losing streaksIf you've ever questioned your strategy after a losing streak... or wondered why trading feels more psychological than technical... this episode will probably change the way you think about the markets.Video Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7DfwJTC_Ow&t=14sSubscribe to OVTLYR for disciplined trading strategies that actually make sense.

Then head to https://www.ovtlyr.com.Learn more about OVTLYR: https://youtu.be/TUCbD5KovlcThe market keeps pushing higher... but there's one problem standing in the way. Every time the S&P 500 gets close to breaking out, it runs straight into overhead resistance. And that's exactly why blindly chasing stocks right now could end up costing traders a lot more than they think. This conversation dives into why order blocks matter so much, what the latest market breadth is really saying, and why strong-looking markets can still hide weakness underneath the surface. There's also a great breakdown of semiconductors after Micron's sharp selloff, why some of the hottest themes eventually come to an end, and how to spot those warning signs before everyone else sees them. One of the biggest lessons in this episode has nothing to do with picking stocks. It's about having a plan before emotions take over. Whether it's avoiding the temptation to "buy the dip," managing losses without panic, rolling option positions to reduce risk, or simply turning off your P&L so it doesn't control your decisions... the discussion keeps coming back to one idea: disciplined traders survive, emotional traders don't.There's also a full walkthrough of active trades, earnings season preparation, GameStop and Apple option rolls, why Netflix could still have more downside despite looking "cheap," and how to use market conditions to decide when it's better to sit in cash instead of forcing trades.✅ SPY, Nasdaq, market breadth, bond yields, and dollar analysis✅ Micron, semiconductors, and Netflix earnings breakdown✅ Order blocks, overhead resistance, and buying the rip vs. buying the dip✅ Options rolling strategies and risk management techniques✅ Real portfolio updates, trade management, and disciplined investingIf you've ever wondered why following a trading plan is more important than finding the next hot stock... this episode is packed with lessons you'll be able to use immediately.Subscribe to OVTLYR for disciplined trading strategies that actually make sense.
