His company, Predictive Health Intelligence (PHI), takes a unique approach to identifying and monitoring MASLD patients using basic EHR data and analytics. This session explores PHI's work over the past years and considers implications for several liver-related health challenges. 00:00:00 - Surf's Up: Season 5 Episode 10Opening comments from the panel, including brief quotes taken directly from the episode. 00:02:04 - Introduction and GroundbreakerEach panelist shares one piece of good news from the previous week.00:07:02 - New projects from TimTim discusses the three major activities that PHI has undertaken since our last visit.00:12:46 - Sequential testingRoger Green asks Tim to state one key lesson he would like to share with a global audience. Tim speaks of the value of sequential testing and the value of collecting data that will support this effort. 00:15:33 - Data governance and privacyLouise Campbell asks Tim about privacy issues and GDPR status for these types of basic health information. Tim states that the number of cases where patients have exhibited concerns when they learn the data is helping them get/stay healthier is virtually nil.00:22:31 - Most and least helpful data itemsTim states that "factual data" (e.g., lab tests) are more valuable than "coded data" reflecting a treater's point of view. 00:25:21 - Thoughts on patient gender and age In response to Louise's questions, Tim shares that his group creates separate analyses by gender, strongly prefers creating risk thresholds to "measures of normality and abnormality," and already is seeing a trend of patients needing MASLD care at younger ages. 00:30:23 - Differences between MASLD and HCVTim discusses some differences in the challenge of bringing in-need HCV patients into the healthcare system compared to in-need MASH patients. HCV patients tend to live at lower socio-economic status, and some who lead high-risk lives may be homeless. MASH patients are more likely simply to lack knowledge and more likely to come to a physician visit once identified. 00:38:38 - Specific challenges in the USIn response to Roger's questions, Tim identifies two differences in the US today: greater clinician motivation due to Rezdiffra coming to market and a greater need for an inexpensive way to target the right patients and then track whether the drug appears to be working.00:41:49 - Keeping data import simpleTim comments that these kinds of activities are challenging enough when data sets and needs are fit to goal and fairly simple, let alone if researchers or policymakers inflate the dataset unnecessarily. This is particularly important because the system can probably locate so many untreated patients using simple data. 00:47:18 - Seeking high-value patients more effectively and final questionLouise and Tim consider what might be the "sweet spot" when patients are ill enough to appreciate that they need treatment but still hardy enough that therapy has time to work. From there, Roger asks a final question about how all stakeholders can contribute to the goal of aggregating large-scale basic sequential data.00:52:52 - Question of the WeekThe question asks what help listeners' organizations or others like them can offer in providing data or otherwise helping enrich data sources for assessing the value of repeat measures. 00:53:37 - Business ReportThis week's news on audience metrics, post-Rezdiffra episode ideas and this week's Vault conversation.

Jesus Christ: God's Love Made Visible

Battle Drill Daily Devotional

SummaryJesus Christ: God's love made visible. Learn how to know God through Jesus and deepen your understanding of God's love. Reflect on your relationship with Jesus and discover how studying his life and teachings can help you know God better. Seek Jesus to experience the ultimate revelation of God's love and grace. Introduction: Jesus Christ God's Love Made VisibleNo one I know has ever seen God. So how can we know him, if we've never seen him? It's difficult to imagine this in a day and age when we can see people in so many different ways – face-to-face, on television, over the Internet. But for most of human history, important people – like the king or queen, for example – would have been invisible – unseen – by most of the population. How did they know the king or queen actually existed if they'd never seen them? The Portrait of GodPerhaps one of the most important ways people knew their kings and queens in history, was through portraits. They at least made it possible for people to know a likeness of their ruler. Jesus Christ is God's love made visible. Jesus is God's portrait. Actually, he's much more than that. He is the complete expression of God in human form. If you want to know what God looks like, then look at Jesus. Revealing God to UsIn his gospel, John wrote: No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father's heart. He has revealed God to us. John 1:18 (NLT)Jesus reveals God to us. By studying the life and teachings of Jesus, we can come to understand the character and nature of God. Through his actions and words, Jesus shows us what it means to love, to forgive, and to serve others. Getting to Know JesusIf we want to know God, we need to get to know Jesus. We can do this by reading about him in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, as well as the rest of the Bible. As we study and meditate on the life of Jesus, we will come to know God more intimately. We will see his love, mercy, and grace shining through Jesus' interactions with people. ConclusionJesus is the ultimate revelation of God to humanity. Through him, we can know and experience the love and grace of our Heavenly Father. Let us continue to seek Jesus and allow his life and teachings to shape our understanding of God's love. Reflection QuestionHow has getting to know Jesus helped you to know God better? In what ways can you continue to deepen your understanding of God's love through studying the life and teachings of Jesus? Battle Drill Daily Devotional Podcast This WeekThis week on the Battle Drill Daily Devotional Podcast we remind ourselves that God calls us to love one another as witness to how much he loves us. I am a graduate of both the University of Wisconsin and the University of Minnesota, and I have completed post-graduate studies at the MIT Sloan School of Management. My formal training has been invaluable, but I credit my true success to growing up in a family of artists, immigrants, and entrepreneurs. They taught me how to carefully observe the world, see patterns before others notice them, and use those insights to create new innovations. History is my favorite way to observe the world. I believe the people from the past have plenty to teach us about the challenges and opportunities we face today.https://jasontvoiovich.com/ https://www.paypal.me/Truelifepodcast?locale.x=en_US

Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. (John 15:9-11)In Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Harry stumbles upon an enchanted mirror. Unlike normal mirrors, this one does not show the reflection of the person standing in front of it. Instead, it shows a reflection of “the deepest, most desperate desire” of that person's heart. But the object inside the mirror is just a mirage—a tantalizing vision trapped on the other side of the glass. This, of course, drives the mirror's visitors mad with frustration. But you and I both know this is a blessing in disguise. Because even if they were able to get their hands on the object of their affection, unless that object was Christ, it would inevitably disappoint. My temptation, and I think yours, is to look to our careers for the very thing Harry was searching for inside that mirror—complete and cosmic joy. But as Jesus makes clear in today's passage, our joy will only be made complete through his love. Not through our families. Not through our health. Not through landing a promotion, selling your business, or being recognized in your field. And so, we can praise God for the days when our work feels like less than complete joy. Because our “painful toil” is reminding us that Christ alone can fully satisfy us. For this reason, John Mark Comer says this:“I think the curse is a blessing in camouflage. It's God's love in disguise. His mercy incognito. Because the curse drives us to God. If it weren't for the curse…we would look to whatever it is we do for work or rest, and we would find it. And nothing could be more disastrous for the world than God's image bearers finding identity and belonging and even satisfaction apart from him.”Should we lament over cursed work? Absolutely! Because God didn't design our work to be painful (see Genesis 1-2 and Isaiah 65).But as we've seen in this series, we can also praise God for the blessings he brings us through cursed, frustrating, painfully difficult work. Because “thorns and thistles”:Force us to rely on GodHumble us and compel us to rely on othersLead us to long for eternity with Christ when work will be perfect once againCreate empathy that helps us to make work less painful for othersEnsure that nothing but Christ will ever fully satisfy usIn light of those truths, give thanks for the thorns and thistles you encounter in your work today!

The introduction of an Undergraduate Student in Nursing (USIN) model of care for ECG performance was implemented. We have contracted 2.96FTE USiN to work 2 shifts 7days a week to implement a new waiting room model of care. The model of care is deliberately procedure/guideline driven given the limited scope of practice for the USIN group. All category 2 chest pain patients are ordered and ECG by the triage nurse and referred to the USIN for completion. We have set up a direct line of review for the ECGs with a dedicated SMO allocated to review ensuring quality review is undertaken. Using a USIN to perform the task of an ECG, similar to a technician position, has freed up nursing time to perform critical thinking and clinical prioritisation within the waiting room. From a fiscal point of view, the USiN is also cheaper to add to a work force already stretched from budget perspective. It has seen an improvement in time-to-treat, specifically for the cohort of ATS Category 2 chest pain presentations. The key achievements to date, are an overall improvement in patient safety, improvement in time-to-treat measures and an immeasurable improvement in staff morale.

When we were kids, proximity was the basis for our friendships. As adults, we have more control over our friendships than ever before. We get to choose where we're going, what we're doing, where we're living, who we're calling. And I think sometimes we get overwhelmed with all the choices we have and forget that WE have the power here. This episode is Part 1 of my conversation with today's guest, Kristian, who reached out after finding Friendship IRL by typing “friendship” into Apple Podcasts. Kristian is in her 20's, a phase in life in which we often find we can't rely on proximity for our friendships anymore. Our 20's are full of so many changes – changes that will inevitably impact our friendships. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. These changes also allow us to better understand who we are, what we enjoy, and what we WANT – not only out of life, but out of our friendships, too.In this episode you'll hear about:How you can be lonely even while having “friends,” and the importance of letting go of being our “best selves” and embracing our messy, unique, true selvesHarmful societal messages around friendship: put your best foot forward; give a great first impression; the first seven seconds set the tone of your friendship foreverMaking friends as an adult, which often involves deciding who we are; what makes us unique; ways we want to show up; and how we want others to show up for usIn our mid-20s, friendships often aren't based on proximity anymore, so for a lot of people, it's hard to know what friendship looks like during this stage of lifeHow our own personal growth and “tweaks” impact our friendships; for example, deciding to stop drinking might affect relationships with people we go to the bar withThe difference in being nice and kind, in friendships and in lifeResources & LinksLike what you hear? Usin Lyon Parilly : à Lyon, l'industrie n'est pas morte

LYON DEMAIN Gérald BOUCHON

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 1, 2022 8:15

IntroductionHow is your faith going to help you handle the latest tests to your life? Extension to lockdown is next phase of God refining us as people and a churchHow will we respond to not being able to see parents, relatives, homeschooling, no hugs with friends, no church services together etc?Abram's world a tough placeConflict with relatives; wars etc. (following on from famine)How is his faith expressed and evidenced? In meekness“Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.” Matt 5:5What is this meekness?“Meekness is a controlled desire to see the other’s interests advance ahead of one’s own.” See Gal 6:1."those who do not throw their weight about." "Those who know how to use a sword, but keep it sheathed"Not seen in some of our world leaders? What about us?Jesus lived like this 1. Meekness takes us back to God, Gen 13.1-4He's been humbled in EgyptDoes not sulkGoes back to reconnect with GodEven though God does not speak-yet.Dry times are not wasted, but a preparationWhat does that look like for us?How do we respond to sin, guilt, regret?Whatever you have done there is a warm welcome from God waiting for you (remember the prodigal) How do you know if you are meek? Consistent devotionWe go to God even when he does not speak. We get strengthened by God whether we notice it or notWe get equipped by God whether we notice it or notLooks to me like this 'quiet time' prepared Abram for the next challenge 2. Meekness helps us act like God, Gen 13.5-13Final recorded conversation with LotLot seeks material over spiritualLiving by sight, not faithEast - away from EdenExcellent example of how to deal with a dispute - notes on that in the podcast on this sectionGrace and meekness go togetherLast time tried to control his fateThis time gives up controlNot dominating the decision makingContent with land - not necessarily the best land!Seeking benefit of the undeservingLike JesusPhil 2:3–7Meekness demonstrated by generosity inspired by God's generosity to usIn what ways are we tempted into self-preservation?Are you generous by nature/habit?If not, the answer will not be in making yourself be generous, but in connecting with the source of generosity. Can we generous with time etc - in touch with one another How do you know if you are meek? When you are generous towards other people Interlude: Gen 13:14-18 - Meekness enables God to draw close to us and bless usPromises more expansive: "all...you see"; dust; foreverAnother altar - celebrating God's mercy to him (after what happened in Egypt)When we own our faults, experience God's generous mercy, we are able to draw closer to the heart of God. 3. Meekness helps us to act courageously for God, Gen 14.1-16, 21-24Lot near (Gen 13:12), now in (Gen 14:12)Meekness is not passivityNot his fight, but compassion moves himFirm against those who wish to harm Lot. Would not allow those he loved and felt responsible for to be taken advantage of, like Jesus and the apostle PaulSign of a mature leader & Christian - compassionate, merciful, generous and courageous, sacrificialStrength and warmth. Jesus - grace and truth. John 1:14Strength in his leadership:Prepared - 318 men trained, equipped and readyTakes initiativeCost in risk to his life, time, money (men on the battlefield not in the harvest field etc), lives (if some die or wounded)Emotional/spiritual - Lot getting what he 'deserved'? Yet, Abram self-controlled and spiritual enough not to abandon himKing of Sodom, vv21-24Handles his ingratitude and arrogance well, "give me...". Very strong in the Hebrew.Integrity - could have become more rich, but God is the focusLets king of Sodom know about God - he should have been impressed! When we are in a secure place with God (we are nothing, but God has chosen us), we are able to live a courageous faith. How do you know if you are meek? When you fight for the benefit of other peopleIn prayerPractically, for example, injustice Conclusion, Gen 14.18-20Each God-like act brings a blessing from God (13:14-17; 14:19-20)Two-way relationship voluntarily offered - blessing and titheMel came to bless him because he saw God was with AbramPeople see this when we are generous and courageous in faithMeek in dependence on GodMeek in generosityMeek in courageous actionPeople who's faith inspires them to live this way change the world and leave a spiritual legacyImpact multi-generational:, Rev 7:9–10Bread and wine: Royal banquet Discussion QuestionsWhat do you find attractive/unattractive about meekness? What do you find inspiring/challenging about Abram's faith? In which quality of meekness are you stronger in - grace/generosity/mercy/warmth, or, courage/confrontation/strength?What could help you to grow in the weaker area? How might you exercise your strength to its potential capacity? In what way do you sense God inspiring you to act in meekness this coming week?

Change begins within - dealing with triggers

This week it's all about change from within - and how the emotional experience of being triggered can both benefit from our willingness to change AND be a beautiful tool in enabling it. | 6'15” | Even the things that trigger us offer an opportunity for growth and learning. The key is always about how we bring our conscious observation to the fore - and what we take from that. | 7'45” | When you face into behaviour from partners, children, colleagues, family members that makes you unhappy, it's an opportunity to look at what it triggers within you.  | 11'25” | If we don't learn how to recognise and respond differently to our triggers, the danger is that you'll keep getting ambushed on your journey through change. You'll respond in the same way you always have, rather than navigating the trigger and responding in the way you want to. | 13'07”  | The need for safety often underpins our emotional response when we are triggered | 15'40” | When you know what triggers you, you can take steps to avoid them. Of course, we can't always control things, something may happen that ambushes us - a trigger out of the blue - and that's where doing the Work to create a more conscious, measured response is so useful.  | 19'35” | The only thing we can control fully is ourselves, and our response to the stimulus around us | 21'45” | This quote helped short-circuit my own triggered responses to stimulus. Viktor Frankl “Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom” | 25'00” | Without a willingness to change, very little can change | 26'03” | It's through learning how to accept and love ourselves that we are better able to love others, with mutual respect | 31'28” | Your response to what triggers you is your response, and doesn't belong to anyone else. | 32'45” | “Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself”. As usual, Rumi puts his finger on the heart of the matter. | 33'33” | Naming what triggers us gives us the opportunity to create the space within us that allows the physical response to be present, and to pass through, without driving usIn this episode I also touch on how triggers can be a key part of how we manage addiction. And I briefly discuss how triggers can be a feature of complex / controlling relationships. If either of those areas resonate for you and raise thoughts or feelings for you, please do reach out to a trusted loved one or someone with specialist skills who can support you.Couple of points for clarity… I've double checked the timespan for emotions. In neuroscientist Jill Bolte-Taylor's memoir, My Stroke of Insight, she notes that the physiological lifespan of an emotion in the body and brain is 90 seconds (rather than the 15 seconds I offered up). And… it was Ghandi who said “Be the change you want to see”Thank you as always to Angus at changomusic.com for his music and production. If you're not yet a member of THE REGROUP HOUR on FACEBOOK, come & join the conversation - everyone welcomeWe've also a new Regroup Hour event coming up - Building Your Self-Care Bank. As usual the crew start of with some Mere Mortal Moments as well as the etymology and definition of the word. They then start listing some of their favourite artists and genres before diving into how music can evoke past memories and whether this is only a good technique or could potentially ruin songs.Music plays a big part in all our lives and has huge effects on us both consciously and subconsciously. Movies use soundtracks to create certain atmospheres/feelings and listening to sad music while alone or pump-up music for the gym can also have physical effects on our body and endorphins. To finish up the episode there is a discussion of some musical facts, such as the 1/10000 person perfect pitch phenomenon as well as the only band to perform on every continent. Solemnity of the Body and Blood of ChristLectionary: 167 Reading 1 DT 8:2-3, 14B-16A Moses said to the people:"Remember how for forty years now the LORD, your God,has directed all your journeying in the desert,so as to test you by afflictionand find out whether or not it was your intentionto keep his commandments. He therefore let you be afflicted with hunger, and then fed you with manna,a food unknown to you and your fathers,in order to show you that not by bread alone does one live, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of the LORD. "Do not forget the LORD, your God,who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery;who guided you through the vast and terrible desertwith its saraph serpents and scorpions, its parched and waterless ground;who brought forth water for you from the flinty rockand fed you in the desert with manna,a food unknown to your fathers." Responsorial Psalm PS 147:12-13, 14-15, 19-20 R.  (12) Praise the Lord, Jerusalem.or:R.  Alleluia.Glorify the LORD, O Jerusalem;praise your God, O Zion. For he has strengthened the bars of your gates;he has blessed your children within you.R.  Praise the Lord, Jerusalem.or:R.  Alleluia. He has granted peace in your borders;with the best of wheat he fills you.He sends forth his command to the earth;swiftly runs his word!R.  Praise the Lord, Jerusalem.or:R.  Alleluia. He has proclaimed his word to Jacob, his statutes and his ordinances to Israel. He has not done thus for any other nation;his ordinances he has not made known to them. Alleluia.R.  Praise the Lord, Jerusalem.or:R.  Alleluia. Reading 2 1 COR 10:16-17 Brothers and sisters:The cup of blessing that we bless,is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break,is it not a participation in the body of Christ?Because the loaf of bread is one,we, though many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf. Sequence  Lauda Sion Laud, O Zion, your salvation,Laud with hymns of exultation,Christ, your king and shepherd true: Bring him all the praise you know,He is more than you bestow.Never can you reach his due. Special theme for glad thanksgivingIs the quick’ning and the livingBread today before you set: From his hands of old partaken,As we know, by faith unshaken,Where the Twelve at supper met. Full and clear ring out your chanting,Joy nor sweetest grace be wanting,From your heart let praises burst: For today the feast is holden,When the institution oldenOf that supper was rehearsed. Here the new law’s new oblation,By the new king’s revelation,Ends the form of ancient rite: Now the new the old effaces,Truth away the shadow chases,Light dispels the gloom of night. What he did at supper seated,Christ ordained to be repeated,His memorial ne’er to cease: And his rule for guidance taking,Bread and wine we hallow, makingThus our sacrifice of peace. This the truth each Christian learns,Bread into his flesh he turns,To his precious blood the wine: Sight has fail’d, nor thought conceives,But a dauntless faith believes,Resting on a pow’r divine. Here beneath these signs are hiddenPriceless things to sense forbidden;Signs, not things are all we see: Blood is poured and flesh is broken,Yet in either wondrous tokenChrist entire we know to be. Whoso of this food partakes,Does not rend the Lord nor breaks;Christ is whole to all that taste: Thousands are, as one, receivers,One, as thousands of believers,Eats of him who cannot waste. Bad and good the feast are sharing,Of what divers dooms preparing,Endless death, or endless life. Life to these, to those damnation,See how like participationIs with unlike issues rife. When the sacrament is broken,Doubt not, but believe ‘tis spoken,That each sever’d outward tokendoth the very whole contain. Nought the precious gift divides,Breaking but the sign betidesJesus still the same abides, still unbroken does remain. The shorter form of the sequence begins here. Lo! the angel’s food is givenTo the pilgrim who has striven;see the children’s bread from heaven, which on dogs may not be spent. Truth the ancient types fulfilling,Isaac bound, a victim willing,Paschal lamb, its lifeblood spilling, manna to the fathers sent. Very bread, good shepherd, tend us,Jesu, of your love befriend us,You refresh us, you defend us,Your eternal goodness send usIn the land of life to see. You who all things can and know,Who on earth such food bestow,Grant us with your saints, though lowest,Where the heav’nly feast you show,Fellow heirs and guests to be. Amen. Alleluia. Alleluia JN 6:51 R. Alleluia, alleluia.I am the living bread that came down from heaven, says the Lord;whoever eats this bread will live forever.R. Alleluia, alleluia. Gospel JN 6:51-58 Jesus said to the Jewish crowds:"I am the living bread that came down from heaven;whoever eats this bread will live forever;and the bread that I will giveis my flesh for the life of the world." The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying,"How can this man give us his flesh to eat?"Jesus said to them,"Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my bloodhas eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day.For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my bloodremains in me and I in him.Just as the living Father sent meand I have life because of the Father,so also the one who feeds on mewill have life because of me.This is the bread that came down from heaven.Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever."

None of this is possible without your guys support, spreading the word about the show and raising the profile of the podcast in such a short time. The reason for that is nothing has come across that I find I would truly support or have relevance to the show it self.
