Hi. Today we're looking at aliens. Well, not them specifically, but the idea of them, recently discussed by our former and current presidents. Are they out there? What does our government know? 0:00 - Any fans of the X-Files in here? Moser WANTS to believe in the Nuggets. But why is he struggling to find that belief EVEN AFTER a win like last night where they demolished the 76ers?15:28 - Luca "My Name is Luca" Evans of the Denver Post joined us today. Yesterday, we tried to get him on the show to discuss his latest article about how the Broncos re-signed their entire roster (essentially). Then, the Waddle news broke. So today, we had him on to recount the details of the Waddle trade. How long was it in the works? What needed to happen for the trade to be finalized?32:46 - Both the Nuggets and Avs are in action tonight, so let's get a double Keys to the Game! After that, who's advancing in our Drop Tournament? Which drops from the Moser Region are moving on to the Round of 32?
Greetings, comrades, and welcome back to the bunker. Today, we're broadcasting live from The Eagles—just 22 kilometers from the Russian border—and stepping straight into the geopolitical Twilight Zone.Usually, we analyze the collapse of the Russian Empire using logic, economics, and military strategy. But the Russian elite has officially abandoned reality. The cognitive dissonance of losing a war to Ukraine has broken their imperial brains, and the Z-Swamp has devolved into an incoherent, Roswell-level conspiracy cult. Evita joins me to wade through the absolute darkest, most radioactive ideological rot the Russian internet has to offer. In this episode of The X-Files of the Z-Swamp:

Growing up, we were fans of The X-Files. Reboots have been a mixed bag, however. That does not stop us from being excited about Ryan Coogler's upcoming take on the series. As we speculated last week, The Last Drive-In aired its final episode. According to those in the know, there will be more to come. The first movie this show throws a lot at the wall. It is a supernatural horror movie with a haunted house, ghosts, and cursed objects. Plus, there are twins, a blind medium, and a monster. Oddity makes it work thanks to patient writing and some of the best placed scares we have ever seen. We have covered lots of found footage on our show. Bodycam is the first one to make one of us feel physically ill. And it had nothing to do with what is in the movie. Its chaotic pacing and extra shaky shaky cam will make this a difficult watch for anyone with a weak stomach. It does try to do something different by having a semblance of a plot. This works until it doesn't. After a great set-up, Bodycam runs out of ideas. The first and biggest issue happens almost immediately. There is no reason for anything in the movie to be happening. As things progress, it becomes more convoluted and less enjoyable. Maybe it is better for found footage movies to have no plot. We were honored and excited to sit down with actor Aaron Douglas! Aaron is an incredibly accomplished actor, with over 100 tv shows, movies and video games on his resume. He's appeared in such movies and shows as X-Men 2, iRobot, Stargate SG-1, Falling Skies, The Strain, X-Files, Supernatural, The Flash, Once upon a time, and currently Murder in a small town, airing on Fox. He created and wrote comic books for AfterShock comics, with his writings appearing in the first two volumes of the Shock Anthology, culminating in his first full length graphic novel “10 years to death” which was released back in October of 2021. You may know him best as the man who kept the Admiral's Vipers flying, Chief Galen Tyrol on Battlestar Galactica! We laughed so much our jaws hurt and we know you will LOVE Aaron as much as we do!
Noel catches up with Kristen Cloke Morgan. The actress's breakout role came as Captain Shane Vansen on Space: Above and Beyond. The FOX series was unfortunately cancelled after one season. The show was co-created by Kristen's husband, Glen Morgan, who also was a writer on The X-Files, it resulted in her work as Melissa, a guest role in The X-Files fourth season episode "The Field Where I Died", which was written for her. She starred as Valerie Lewton in the first Final Destination and as Leigh Colvin in the slasher film, Black Christmas.
Back to the longtime favorite running series inside the show - It Happened One Year's exploration of television programming specifically on November 3rd of a given year! This time around, Sarah & Joe dig into what the hell was going on that Friday night over at the FOX Network and cable's E! Entertainment Television. Not the most robust of original programming nights saw FOX roll out the short-lived, X-Files-esque FreakyLinks starring Ethan Embry and Dennis Christopher, while E! dropped another entry in their beloved look at chat and reality shows, Talk Soup. Along the way, the hosts get into a lot of random TV areas, including Cheaters, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, A.J. Benza, Greg Kinnear, The Nine, The Chicago Code, and more!
Jessica and Dini travel back to October 7, 1994! Join us as we discuss our top 5 favorite moments from S2 EP4, Sleepless. This episode was written by Howard Gordon and directed by Rob Bowman. Agent Mulder investigates a series of mysterious deaths connected to a group of former U.S. soldiers who claim they haven't slept in over 20 years due to a secret military experiment. The case introduces Mulder's new partner, Special Agent Alex Krycek, and explores the psychological and supernatural consequences of the government's attempts to eliminate the need for sleep.Do you have any X-Files-related theories, stories, key points, or podcast feedback? Send us comments, suggestions and ideas here! In this week's episode we continue following the bread-crumb trail of clues within the recently released tranche of Epstein files that elucidate both Epstein's and his friend's private thoughts as well as evil, science-fiction-worthy master plan that Epstein seems to have been working toward prior to his death (or disappearing into hiding, if you believe that.) While many others are digging into specific crimes, we're going to focus on underlying philosophy and motive. In the first half of the show we discuss Epstein's ongoing obsession with eugenics, buying babies, how the elites really feel about minorities (you can probably guess) and what it all has to do with determining psychic ability. Starting off in FOLLOW UP, we've got a tax economist who actually made money betting against the "efficiency" of Elon's budget-slashing fever dreams, while Tesla is busy trying to dodge a $243 million jury verdict for an Autopilot-assisted fatality. Not content with being legally liable, Tesla is also suing the California DMV because they're offended someone called their "Autopilot" and "Full Self-Driving" marketing deceptive—ironic, since Jack Dorsey just "proactively" halved the staff at Block to make room for more AI slop. Speaking of which, Goldman Sachs is here to remind us that all this AI spending added a grand total of zero to the US GDP last year, mostly because we're just exporting all that cash to overseas chip makers while 80% of execs admit the tech hasn't actually done anything for productivity yet.Moving into IN THE NEWS, Sam Altman had the audacity to compare ChatGPT's energy-sucking habits to the 20-year evolution of a human, though the internet wasn't exactly buying the "my bot is just like a baby" defense. Anthropic actually stood its ground against the Pentagon's demand for killer robots and mass surveillance, so naturally, the military just signed a deal to put Elon's Grok in their classified systems instead—because what could go wrong with an "edgy" LLM in the war room? Meanwhile, cities are dumping AI surveillance contracts as citizens start a literal "smash-the-snitch-box" campaign against Flock's license plate readers, Google's AI is busy inserting racial slurs into news alerts, and the White House is apparently harboring a staffer moonlighting as a racist "masterpiece" creator on X. We've also got Reddit being slapped with a $20 million fine in the UK for being lazy with age checks, while Discord and Apple scramble to build verification tools that hopefully won't leak your entire identity to a hacker in Belarus. In MEDIA CANDY, the Paramount-Skydance merger is leaving the industry in a cold sweat of "synergy" layoffs, but at least we're getting more Game of Thrones spinoffs and Star Trek reboots to rot our brains. Face/Off 2 lost its director, Ryan Coogler is taking on The X-Files, and Google wants to use AI to turn music into generic "lo-fi" background noise for the masses.Over in APPS & DOODADS, OpenAI is planning a 2027 smart speaker that literally watches you through a camera—because you definitely wanted a $300 Sam Altman-shaped eye in your kitchen—while the Dark Sky creators are back with "Acme Weather" for the low price of $25 a year.We wrap up THE DARK SIDE WITH DAVE with a deep dive into "Under Pressure" and Coruscant's urban sprawl, leaving us to reminisce about the days when KPT Bryce was the pinnacle of tech—back when "generative art" was just a fractal that took six hours to render.Sponsors:DeleteMe - Get 20% off your DeleteMe plan when you go to JoinDeleteMe.com/GOG and use promo code GOG at checkout.SquareSpace - go to squarespace.com/GRUMPY for a free trial. Bryce Zabel and Brent Friedman, creators of NBC's Dark Skies, join Podcast UFO to discuss the strange real-life event that sparked their new investigative podcast, Sound, Light & Frequency. They share how their personal interest in UFOs began (including Bryce's childhood discovery of the McMinnville “Trent Farm” photos, and Brent's startling “aliens are real” disclosure from a Reagan-era family friend), plus Brent's more recent UFO-style sighting during the Perseid meteor shower on Vancouver Island, tiny star-like lights moving erratically and seeming to drop into the ocean. The conversation turns to why witnesses stay silent, including stories Bryce heard from strangers after Dark Skies aired, schoolyard sightings with dozens of witnesses that never made the news, followed by families insisting: “don't ever talk about it.” From there, Bryce and Brent explain the premise of Sound, Light & Frequency: an active investigation into whether Hollywood has been part of a long “chicken-and-egg” feedback loop with UFO culture, did filmmakers invent ideas that later entered ufology, or were real narratives quietly fed into film and TV? They preview their central claim: a mysterious “Man in Black”-type figure crashed their Dark Skies premiere party in the 1990s, claimed ties to the Office of Naval Intelligence, and allegedly offered a “deal” connected to a slow-drip disclosure program, truth inserted into fiction. They won't fully reveal the details here (they insist listeners start with Episode 1), but they confirm follow-up meetings occurred and that the encounter never stopped haunting them. They also reveal how Dark Skies was sold with an elaborate “top secret” style series bible mapping a multi-season timeline, then the eerie twist: the exact “cover of fiction to tell truth” concept they pitched to networks later appeared to boomerang back on them in real life. The episode closes with their plan to examine iconic UFO films and series (Close Encounters, Contact, The Abyss, The X-Files, V, and more), vet tips from insiders, and look for patterns, without claiming they already have the answers.SHOW NOTESTHIS WEEK'S BLOG BY CHARLES LEAR: MR X

This episode originally aired August 13, 2024 When I first met Kumail Nanjiani, we were on set on the X-Files, chasing down the shape-shifting Were-Monster. Since then, I’ve seen Kumail undergo his own transformation — into a leading man and big-screen superhero, playing memorable characters with depth, heart and humor. Only, he doesn’t always see it that way. We chat about his love of the X-Files and how he’s recently found new ways of approaching his life, relationship and career with more presence and joy, rather than stressing about the outcome. Send a textIn this episode of Serving Sundays, Dave Wheeler and Candace Langan trade in their usual routine for some serious "protection"—literally.
