Cannabis is being studied more and more in both human and veterinary medicine, and if your dog has cancer, you have probably seen at least one person recommend CBD oil. But all of the terms can be very confusing and may sound the same. Knowing what each term means can help you and your veterinarian determine if CBD is appropriate for your dog and help you to choose a safe and effective product. Here are a few of the terms discussed in today's show: Cannabis is a plant with many compounds reported to have medicinal properties. These compounds are called cannabinoids. The two most famous cannabinoids are CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol). THC has hallucinatory psychoactive effects and can be toxic to dogs, while CBD has much more calming effects and is safe for dogs. Marijuana and hemp are both categories of the cannabis plant. Marijuana refers to a cannabis plant with over 0.3% THC, while hemp refers to a cannabis plant that has 0.3% THC or less. And when choosing a product, a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) is critical so that you know exactly what is in each product! Ob Munich Re, Swiss Re oder Hannover Rück: Sie alle erwarten Preissteigerungen. Der Anstieg der Inflationsraten wird dabei als wesentliche - aber nicht einzige - Ursache genannt. So nennt Hannover Rück beispielsweise noch den Trend zu Großschäden. Axa und Creditplus bauen Zusammenarbeit aus Seit 2020 arbeiten Axa und die Creditplus Bank AG im Bereich Konsumentenkredite für Kunden der ehemaligen Axa Bank zusammen. Diese Zusammenarbeit soll nun ausgebaut und das Angebot einem breiteren Kundenkreis zugänglich gemacht werden. Losing a beloved dog is always hard, but it can be even more heartbreaking during the holiday season. But while we as humans put a lot of value in specific dates and times, our dogs do not. Your dog will not mind if you celebrate a favorite holiday with him a few weeks early because his health is failing – after all, every day spent with you is a holiday to him. You are not alone if you have had to say goodbye to a dear pet during the holiday season. The short, cold days take their toll on sick and elderly dogs, and the bustle of the holidays can be stressful. Money may also not be as plentiful as other times between heating bills and gift giving. Allow yourself the time you need to grieve, but also give yourself permission to enjoy the parts of the holidays that you enjoy. Share memories of your dog with close friends and family, and consider a thoughtful remembrance gift if a loved one has lost his or her pet. Your dog having surgery can be stressful and knowing what to expect on the day of your dog's surgery can give you peace of mind. Veterinary technician Kate Basedow goes over what a typical surgery day looks like, as well as what to bring with you when you drop off your dog … and when to expect a phone call with an update. Set yourself and your dog up for success by remembering NOT to feed your dog breakfast before surgery and by arriving on time to the vet's office. Factor in some time for paperwork, and if your dog has been seeing multiple vets, bring copies of records and recent bloodwork. Taking your dog in for surgery – no matter how "small” -- is stressful. But there are things you can do ahead of time to reduce anxiety and upset for both you AND your dog. To make sure your dog is ready, get bloodwork ahead of time and any x-rays that your veterinarian recommends to check for heart problems and other important medical issues. Die Krankheit Morbus Basedow wird oft mit Schilddrüsenüberfunktion gleichgesetzt, doch auch Augen unter starkem Einfluss pathogener Antikörper. Die Folge ist die sogenannte Ophthalmopathie, eine starke Vorwölbung der Augen, die bis zu die Hälfte aller Patienten mit Basedow Krankheit betrifft. Der Morbus Basedow ist eine wichtige Autoimmunerkrankung, und typischerweise betrifft die Krankheit zu 80-90% Frauen. Die Anzeichen des Morbus Basedow sind neben der starken Vorwölbung der Augen unter anderem ein übersteigerter Stoffwechsel: stimulierende Auto-Antikörper binden an die Schilddrüse, wo sie die vermehrte Bildung von Schilddrüsenhormon bewirken. Diese stimulierende Wirkung erfolgt unabhängig vom TSH, durch das normalerweise das Gehirn die Kontrolle über Schilddrüse und Stoffwechsel sicherstellt. Schilddrüsenuntefdunktion, Schilddrüsenüberfunktion, Autoimmunerkrankungen wie M.Basedow oder Hashimoto sind nicht selten! Leider werden sie viel zu oft lange nicht erkannt weswegen ich dich in der heutigen Folge für dieses Thema sensibilisieren möchte. Genau so wichtig übrigens in diesem Kontext ist die Jodversersorgung. Jodmangel betrifft unglaublich viele Deutsche und ist vor allem häufig in Veganer oder vegetarischer Ernährung... Talking to Tina Florio about being desperate for a solution when it comes to health situations – in her case an autoimmune disorder called Graves' disease, which means your thyroid is in overdrive(aka Basedow’s disease). Il a publié un nouveau roman L'impact, dès la rentrée 2018, la nouvelle Le Captain' fin 2019. Un troisième roman: La fille du week-end est sorti au début de l'année 2020. Les livres de Pascal Bezard et pourquoi je les ai aimés Le sang blanc Une histoire authentique où Pascal Bezard nous fait vivre un an de la vie de Max, atteint d'un lymphome, un fait de vie qui peut toucher chacun de nous. Beaucoup de moments d'humour, de dérision, de réflexion, sur un rythme soutenu ou au point mort, jalonnent ce parcours atypique plein de pudeur et d'émotions. L'auteur nous fait partager, dans l'ombre de Max, les thèmes qui lui sont chers et son amour pour la littérature, tout en laissant le soin au lecteur d'interpréter et de s'interroger afin de comprendre. Certains passages peuvent être difficiles pour les plus sensibles. Pour des raisons qu'il juge suffisantes, l'auteur a omis de faire figurer les noms de nombreux personnages ou les a modifiés. Ce livre peut être tenu pour un roman ou une œuvre autobiographique, mais il est toujours possible d'imaginer que ceci a été rapporté comme un fait et en aucun cas comme un témoignage. « Les mots ont failli me manquer pour écrire cette critique tant ce livre m'a touché au cœur et à l'âme. Le sujet n'est pas facile à traiter et pourtant l'auteur nous entraîne dans le combat de Max contre la maladie sans tomber dans le pathos. On y frôle cette “Insoutenable légèreté de l'être” qui vous fait retenir votre respiration dans l'espoir que tout ira bien. Et oui ça va aller. Il le faut. Tant de force d'âme dans ce récit magnifiquement écrit ! J'ai lu Le pavillon des cancéreux il y a déjà fort longtemps…et je ne m'attendais pas en lisant Le Sang Blanc, à me surprendre vouloir le ressortir de ma bibliothèque pour le poser sur ma table de chevet. In dieser Folge wollen wir über Schilddrüsenüberfunktion und auch Morbus Basedow sprechen. Schilddrüsenüberfunktionen sind zwar nicht so häufig wie Schilddrüsenunterfunktionen, doch die negativen Folgen der schulmedizinischen Behandlung sind häufig permanent. Nämlich dann, wenn die Schilddrüse am Ende des Behandlungsweges rauskommt. Denn ohne Schilddrüse kann man nicht leben. Somit muss jeder Mensch ohne Schilddrüse für immer Schilddrüsenhormone nehmen. Wir wollen in dieser Folge zeigen, dass es häufig Alternativen zur OP und anderen typischen schulmedizinischen Behandlungen wie Tiamazol, Carbimazol oder Radiojodtherapie gibt. Eine Belastung mit Kupfer kann im Zusammenhang der Überfunktion eine sehr wichtige Rolle spielen, weswegen die Regulierung des Kupferhaushaltes dazu beitragen kann die Schilddrüsenfunktion wieder zu normalisieren. Heute begrüße ich bei mir die wunderbare Gerti Schöpe! Gerti erkrankte 2012 an Morbus Basedow, einer Autoimmunerkrankung der Schilddrüse, die zu einer Überfunktion des Organs führt. Bei dieser Erkrankung entwickeln die Patienten häufig eine Schilddrüsenvergrößerung, Herzrasen, Schwitzen, die Augen sind oft mit beteiligt und treten hervor, die Betroffenen fühlen sich nervös, wie getrieben, leiden unter Muskelschwäche und vielen anderen quälenden Beschwerden. Bei Gerti war es so, dass ihr die Erkrankung nicht nur körperlich das Äußerste abverlangte, sondern sie auch emotional-mental in eine tiefe Krise stürzte. Aber sie gab nicht auf, sondern machte sich auf, um die tiefere Ursache der Erkrankung zu finden und für sich aufzulösen. Der mühevolle Weg der inneren Transformation lohnt sich: Im Zeitraum zwischen Frühjahr und Spätsommer 2019 gelingt es Gerti, sich von der Erkrankung zu befreien und gilt seit September 2019 als geheilt. Es sind keine Antikörper, Symptome oder Entzündungsherde mehr nachweisbar. Anfang 2020 entschließt sie sich dazu, ihren Weg mit der Öffentlichkeit zu teilen, um auch anderen Betroffenen Mut zu machen, ihren Weg in die vollständige Genesung zu gehen. Und die Erfahrungen, die sie auf diesem Weg gemacht hat, teilt sie heute mit uns! Season 15, Episode 3. Ngaji Filsafat - Dr. Fahruddin Faiz H. P. Blavatsky Helena Petrovna Blavatsky adalah seorang pendiri Teosofi dan Theosophical Society. Orangtuanya Kolonel Peter von Hahn dari keluarga Hahn kuno von adalah sebuah keluarga bangsawan Jerman dari Basedow dan Helena Fadeyeva. Adik Blavatsky yang bernama Vera Zhelikhovsky adalah seorang penulis okultisme. Sepupu pertama Blavatsky adalah Sergei Witte seorang Menteri Rusia, dan kemudian menjadi Perdana Menteri pada masa pemerintahan Tsar Nicholas II. Dalam memoarnya, Count Witte mengingat pertemuannya dengan Helena. Kakek dari ibu Blavatsky adalah Andrey Mikhailovich Fadeyev, Gubernur Saratov dan istrinya Putri Helene Dolgoruki, tokoh usia pencerahan Rusia. Blavatsky tumbuh di tengah budaya yang kaya dalam spiritualitas dan mitologi tradisional Rusia, yang memperkenalkan ke dunia supranatural. Meskipun tinggal di New York City, ia mendirikan Theosophical Society pada bulan September 1875 bersama dengan Henry Steel Olcott, William Quan Hakim. Blavatsky menulis bahwa semua agama sama-sama benar dalam ajaran batin mereka. Tulisannya menghubungkan pengetahuan spiritual esoteris dengan ilmu pengetahuan baru yang dapat dianggap sebagai contoh pertama dari apa yang sekarang disebut cara berpikir yang baru. Secara etimologis, teosofi berasal dari kata theo (Tuhan) dan sophia (ilmu pengetahuan atau kebijaksanaan). Dengan demikian, secara literal teosofi berarti pengetahuan atau kebijaksanaan dalam memandang permasalahan ketuhanan. Sepintas, bidang kajian teosofi tidak jauh berbeda dengan teologi. Kendati sama-sama mengacu kepada pembahasan terhadap berbagai masalah ketuhanan, perbedaannya terletak dari bagaimana operasionalnya. Jika teosofi cenderung menukik pada inti permasalahan dengan menyelami misteri-misteri ketuhanan yang terdalam, maka teologi lebih menggunakan pendekatan spekulatif-intelektual dalam menginterpretasikan hubungan antara manusia, alam semesta, dan Tuhan. Seseorang yang ahli dalam bidang teologi disebut teolog, sementara ia yang memahami kaidah teosofi disebut teosofos. Melalui pemikiran filosofis-sufistis, seorang teosofos dapat dikatakan sebagai seseorang yang mampu mengawinkan latihan intelektual teoritis melalui filsafat dengan penyucian jiwa dengan tasawuf dalam mencapai pemahaman terkait masalah ketuhanan. Munculnya kajian teosofi dapat ditelusuri dari budaya dunia Timur yang identik dengan segala mistisisme dan okultismenya. Seperti dalam hikayat Mesir kuno, Hindu, atau tradisi Timur lain yang tetap hidup dengan kultus (pemujaan) dan terkait erat dengan kultus Rosicrucian. Adapun tokoh paling berpengaruh dari teosofi adalah Helena Petrovna von Hahn atau yang kelak dikenal dengan nama Madame Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, seorang perempuan keturunan bangsawan Rusia. Kelak, bersama Kolonel Henry Steel Olcott, ia mendirikan Theosophical Society di New York pada 17 November 1875, namun baru diresmikan pada 3 April 1905.

The objective of this thesis was the development of a mouse model for human Graves’ disease which ensures constant symptoms over a period of several months. Background is the assumption that a possible therapeutic development is only feasible and sensible on reliable animal models. The in-vivo parameters heart rate and weight development should therefore be reviewed as to their significance on the progression of the disease. In this study, BALB/c mice were immunized nine times with a TSHR-expressing adenovirus over a period of nine months. Alternatively, mice were administered adenovirus which expressed GFP ("mock-immunization). Both adenoviruses were given at concentrations of 1 * 1010 and 1 * 1011. Additionally, blood and ECG tests took place on a naïve, unimmunized mouse group. Before each immunization, body weight and heart rate of the animals were documented. The blood sera of the mice were examined for TSHR-stimulating antibodies with two different ELISA as well as determination of cAMP in test cells. A measurement of thyroxin took place at four time points (trial weeks 0, 8, 27 and 35). At the end of the test, the thyroid glands and hearts were investigated with regard to their dimensions and histological sections were examined. Increasing antibody titers were evidenced only in the Ad-TSHR-immunized animals. The mouse “third generation” assay which was adopted from a respective human assay delivered reliable results. Also these animals showed an increase of T4 levels compared to the control groups. The parameter heart rate proved to be a good indicator of the course of the disease. The heart rates of the Ad-TSHR-immunized mice increased considerably as well as the antibody titers. Observing the weight trend was unsuitable for the disease course assessment. However, the histological examination showed considerable differences between both groups. In Ad-TSHR-immunized animals, typical changes were verified, such as hyperplasia and a folding of the follicular epithelium and a marked vacuolization of the follicles. With the titer 1 * 1010 more stable results could be achieved than with 1 * 1011, especially on the parameters increase in serum T4 and the enlargement of the thyroid gland. The histological result of these animals was inconspicuous. In summary, a long-term immunization over a nine month period with TSHR-expressing adenovirus used at concentrations of 1 * 1010 and 1 * 1011 ensures maintenance of Graves’ disease symptoms for a period of at least 30 weeks and can provide an important contribution in preclinical research. Existing adenovirus protocols could therefore be validated for a considerably longer timeframe than was previously known. The measurement of the heart frequency represents a useful addition to existing mouse models.
