The “Constellation Platform” is revolutionizing the path to fault-tolerant quantum computing. Rather than relying on traditional state vector simulations that hit a wall at 50 qubits, this platform from Quantum Elements uses a breakthrough method, stochastic compression, to create realistic digital twins of quantum hardware at scale. This approach allows developers to simulate the complex time evolution of a system, including specific noise models such as crosstalk and decoherence, without the high cost of running thousands of shots on physical QPUs. Host Konstantinos Karagiannis sits down with Izhar Medalsy, co-founder and CEO of Quantum Elements, to also explore the cutting-edge intersection of AI and quantum engineering, highlighting a “quantum copilot” in Constellation powered by Claude. This AI-native platform doesn't just help write context-specific code; it also acts as a virtual supervisor that can troubleshoot failed experiments by comparing real-world results with first-principles simulations. Whether you are a professional looking to optimize algorithms through advanced error suppression or a researcher seeking a hardware-agnostic layer to run code across different vendors, listen and learn how digital virtualization might play a key role. HEADLINE: Moneyball for the Navy: Balancing the Fleet GUEST AUTHOR: Jerry HendrixSUMMARY: Applying a "Moneyball" baseball analogy, Hendrix argues the current U.S. Navy is "top-heavy," relying on expensive "home run" carriers while lacking "base hitters"—smaller ships for daily presence. He notes the fleet has under 300 ships but needs constant forward deployment to maintain peace. To fix this, he advocates for a high-low mix: acquiring the new Constellation-class frigate to serve as a versatile "pickup truck" and refurbishing older Arleigh Burke destroyers. This approach aims to rapidly expand capacity to counter the immediate Chinese threat without waiting decades for new technology.1900 DEPLOYED TO THE BOXER REBELLION

In this episode, guest Christine Cardoza shares a deeply personal adaptation story: growing up in a high-conflict family system (anger, yelling, walking on eggshells), experiencing a chronic nest worry/argument conflict and how that resulted in her experience in ongoing breast growth (even after a breast reduction). We also unpack the cerebellum constellation (and why it can look like emotional numbness, coldness, or “I just don't care anymore”), and why understanding the biological purpose can create a massive reframe: less shame, more clarity. This conversation also dives in to family dynamics, grief after losing a parent, internet triggers, identity traps, and what it actually looks like to “downgrade” your conflicts in a way that preserves your energy and your joy.Find us on Instagram:Ashlee - @alchemywithashleeAbigail - @abigailpuccioniOur personal websites:Ashlee - alchemywithashlee.comAbigail - abigailpuccioni.comWhere to find Christine:Instagram - @oasisofhealingspaWebsite - www.oasisofhealingspa.com

In this episode of Plugged In, host Chuck Hanna welcomes Brian Smith, Director of Nuclear Reactor Development at Idaho National Laboratory (INL), for a wide-ranging conversation on the role of advanced nuclear in meeting growing energy demand. Drawing on Smith's career across the U.S. Navy, Department of Energy and now INL, they explore why nuclear is both a current backbone of the U.S. grid and a critical solution for the future. They cover how small modular reactors (SMRs) and microreactors are expanding nuclear's use cases, from grid-scale power to remote communities and data centers, along with INL's role in de-risking, piloting and accelerating commercialization through partnerships with private industry. Smith also shares insights on grid resilience, cybersecurity, federal-industry collaboration and why “nuclear now” is an essential part of delivering reliable, low-carbon energy at scale. STARLINK: FUNDING THE FUTURE Colleague Eric Berger. To finance the immense cost of Mars colonization, SpaceX developed Starlink, a constellation intended to comprise 12,000 satellites for global internet coverage. Bergerexplains that while the concept of low Earth orbit internet existed, SpaceX was the first to make it practical by mass-producing satellites at an unprecedented rate. This revenue stream is vital for the Starship program. Berger highlights how SpaceX has outpaced sovereign nations and corporate rivals like Amazon's Kuiper, which are years behind. The segment emphasizes the relentless work culture required to maintain this lead, often at the expense of employees' personal lives. NUMBER 61917 MASTER MIND OF MARS

Bill Kirk and Phil Kafarakis break down Constellation Brands (STZ) earnings, which sent the stock higher despite year-over-year contraction. Phil says the whole industry is suffering because of suppressed demand from consumers. Consumers are moving from quantity to quality, he argues, along with Gen Z's more moderate drinking. Bill says the outlook is the real story as we're beginning to lap last year's disruptions. He thinks the pendulum may swing back from health and wellness towards alcohol, and says Constellation Brands is his top pick in the sector.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Options involve risks and are not suitable for all investors. In this episode recorded live from the 2025 Reagan National Defense Forum in Simi Valley, hosts Lauren Bedula and Hondo Geurts sit down with Congressman Rob Wittman, Vice Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee and Co-Chair of the Defense Modernization Caucus. Congressman Wittman shares his journey from reforming a Boy Scout troop in his small Virginia hometown to leading defense modernization efforts in Congress, driven by a passion for connecting good public policy to decision makers who can execute it. The conversation explores his call for Congress to thank people for taking risks and learning from failures, the critical workforce challenges facing shipbuilding, and why the overwhelming presence of non-traditional defense companies at the Reagan Forum signals a transformative shift in the defense industrial base. Wittman emphasizes that modernization must happen "at the speed of relevance," not incrementally, but with the urgency the strategic environment demands.Five Key Takeaways:Congress must thank people for taking risks, not punish failures: Wittman calls for Congress to "thank them for taking the risk" when acquisition officials present failures, then ask what they learned. Using SpaceX's Starship as an example, he argues that controlled failures accelerate progress, and Congress must stop punishing experimentation with a "process-centric mindset."The Navy's Constellation decision was a watershed moment: The Navy's willingness to reassess the Constellation-class frigate, where mission creep turned an 85% complete design into 15%, demonstrates self-assessment and course correction, the kind that should be celebrated even when acknowledging past errors.Shipbuilding faces unprecedented workforce challenges: With companies like Huntington Ingalls hiring 5,000 workers annually, shipyards must invest in quality of life improvements and expand skill sets beyond traditional trades to include software programming, robotics monitoring, and additive manufacturing.Non-traditionals are transforming the defense industrial base: The overwhelming presence of non-traditional companies, private equity firms, and venture capital at the Reagan Forum represents a fundamental shift. These players bring innovative approaches focused not just on platforms but on enabling the manufacturing process itself through software and data analytics.Modernization must happen at the speed of relevance: "We have to do these things, not just say, well, we'll think about it. We'll do a little bit. This has to be done at the speed of relevance." The strategic environment demands urgent transformation, not incremental approaches, across workforce development, manufacturing, and acquisition reform.
STARLINK: THE ECONOMIC ENGINE FOR MARS Colleague Eric Berger. To finance the massive costs of the Mars program, SpaceX developed Starlink, a constellation of thousands of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites designed to provide global internet. While previous attempts at LEO constellations were deemed impractical due to manufacturing challenges, SpaceX is now operating thousands of satellites, outpacing sovereign nations and competitors like Amazon's Kuiper. This aggressive expansion relies on the reusable Block 5 Falcon 9 boosters to launch dozens of satellites at once, generating the revenue necessary to build the Starship architecture. Is restarting Three Mile Island the ultimate redemption story—or the industry's biggest PR gamble?Judy Rader, Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Chief Communications Officer at Constellation Energy, runs communications for the nation's largest clean energy producer. Operating 21 nuclear reactors representing 25% of U.S. nuclear capacity, Constellation has transformed nuclear's narrative from defensive to proactive. "I want to save nuclear power plants. I think it's important for our climate," Judy told a skeptical colleague before joining the 2022 spinoff. She explains why restarting Three Mile Island was the right call, how eating a banana delivers more radiation than living near a reactor, and what it takes to build new nuclear at scale. PREVIEW: Bob Zimmerman questions Amazon's perplexing launch strategy for its LEO constellation, asking why the company is utilizing more costly, non-reusable launch providers like ULA and Blue Origin instead of the more cost-effective SpaceX reusable boosters. He speculates that historical contracts or potential personal conflicts between billionaires may explain the decision. 1958

On the All Things Sustainable podcast, we talk a lot about challenges like climate change, the energy transition and sustainable supply chain management. In today's episode, we're focusing on solutions. We sit down with three guests to unpack how their companies use technology to address key sustainability challenges. We talk to Rajiv Bazaj, Vice President of Energy & Sustainability Solutions at big US utility Constellation Energy Corporation. He explains how Constellation uses technology to address growing energy demand. This includes making better use of current generation and longer-term solutions like small modular nuclear reactors and fusion. We talk with Christoph Gebald, Founder and CEO of carbon removal company Climeworks. He explains how technology advances are leading to breakthroughs in carbon removal — and why this is a critical solution to address climate change. And we speak to Jonathan Horn, Founder and CEO of Treefera, a London-based startup that provides clients with insight into their supply chains. He points to the big developments in AI and satellite technology that are enabling more granular insight into supply chains. "I think of it as monitoring everything, everywhere, all at once," Jonathan says. "Not just because it's a good thing to do from a nature point of view, but because it's an essential bottom line C-suite problem." We sat down with today's guests on the sidelines of the Nest Climate Campus, where the All Things Sustainable podcast was an official media partner during Climate Week NYC. Yes, there are black bears in Door County, but we don't yet know where the one that washed ashore in Egg Harbor came from. Myles Dannhausen Jr. talks to Debra Fitzgerald about that bear, but first they dig into the news that the U.S. Navy has cancelled contracts for four Constellation-class frigates being built by Fincantieri Marinette Marine with assistance from its Sturgeon Bay yard. What does it mean for local workers when a multi-billion dollar contract ends?

As most parents can tell you, coming up with names isn’t easy. It sometimes takes a while to settle on something that sounds just right. It wasn’t easy for the people who named the constellations, either. Some of the names sound like they just gave up. They picked a region of the sky with few stars, gave it the name of a nearby bright constellation, then added the word “minor.” All three of these minor constellations are in good view at dawn: Ursa Minor, Canis Minor, and Leo Minor. The most famous of the bunch is Ursa Minor – the little bear. Seven of its stars form the Little Dipper, which is in the north – directly below the Big Dipper, which is part of Ursa Major. The constellation is especially well known because its brightest star is Polaris, the Pole Star. It’s at the tip of the little bear’s tail. Canis Minor is the little dog. It’s about half way up the sky in the west-southwest. It has only a couple of bright stars. The brightest is Procyon – a name that means “before the dog.” That’s because the little dog leads the big dog across the sky. In ancient Greece, in fact, the constellation was known as Procyon. Finally, Leo Minor is high overhead. It’s the little lion, standing on the shoulder of Leo. That region of the sky wasn’t depicted as a separate constellation until 1687. Today, though, it’s one of the 88 official constellations – even if it is a “minor” one. Script by Damond Benningfield

Starlink: Funding the Mars Vision through LEO Constellations. Eric Berger discusses Starlink, a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites designed to fund Musk's Mars vision. While the idea wasn't new, deploying thousands of satellites for global internet was previously viewed as impractical due to manufacturing and launch rate limitations. Starlink, now highly successful with about 7,000 operational satellites, minimizes lag compared to geostationary systems like Iridium. This revenue stream is critical to supporting the company's goals, although the work environment demands extreme dedication from employees who often sacrifice personal lives. Guest: Eric Berger.
