An album pin is a lapel pin with artwork inspired by a specific album or song from an album. It could be the actual album artwork or it could be inspired by a specific track on the album. The best album pins stand out on their own. They appeal to more than just your fans. It is simple, bold, and visually engaging. However, what truly makes it an “album pin” is that the purchaser also gets a digital album with their pin. I have an entire blog on my website with details including templates for you to make your own album pin jacket.

Thank you for your podcast. I discovered Celtic music in the 1990s in France with a french band that has since disappeared, Tonynara. I could be wrong but I don't think I've ever heard it on your podcast. This group remains a reference for me and I can only advise you to play one or two songs at the next opportunity. Thanks !” Caleb Cotter sent a photo: "Hi Marc, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for featuring the Irish Lassies' music this year. You've introduced me to so many incredible artists, and I truly appreciate that! I've also been really enjoying your Dancing with Hobbits album—it's fantastic! You definitely nailed it with that project, and you should be incredibly proud of it. You've always encouraged us to send over recommendations, so I wanted to share one with you: My friend's band, The Mad Ferret from Edinburgh, UK. They're amazing, and I think you'd really enjoy their music. Here's one of my favorite tracks that I think you'll love. Also, the Lassies would like to send you something in the mail as a thank you. Could you please share an address where we can send it? Wishing you a wonderful New Year and thank you again for everything you do for the Celtic music community!” Patrick Rieger emailed photos: "Hi Marc, Some more celtic musicians from the family's renaissance festival season, this time the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival. Pittsburgh is a small faire, but the musicians are still great. We could only spend one day there, so we didn't see them all. We did get to see The Reelin' Rogues, The Craic Show, Sarah the Harpist (Sarah Marie Mullen), and just as we were leaving at the end of the day, Magnus and Maggie. Despite the musicians and us seeing each other one or two times a year, we still get to be friends. Big smiles. Daniel from the Craic Show wanting to clink glasses at the Pirates Pub. Sarah and my wife Gayle got into a conversation about environmental issues.”

Owen Alabado joins the podcast to discuss this weekend's Northern Door Pride Cabaret at Northern Sky's Gould Theater. The founder of Northern Door Pride chats with Myles Dannhausen Jr. about bringing locals together for the show on stage and in the audience, the Knobs, and why he's been so driven to do community work from the day he landed in Door County almost five years ago.
Northern Sky veteran Karen Mal joins Debra Fitzgerald to talk about her upcoming show at the Gould Theater, Dec. 28, 29, 30 and 31, to play some original music, and to talk about her career as a singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/actor. Mal found a community in the Northern Sky team back when it was American Folklore Theater, and their fall season box office line rang in her kitchen in a cottage on Gibraltar Road. She talks about that Door County origin story and how she balances different aspects of her career while raising her daughter in Austin, Texas.
Mary Kreiser has been missing since October 1987, when she failed to show up to her daughter's house for Thanksgiving dinner. After being reported to the RCMP, further investigation would discover that the 49-year-old mother of five was last seen at a Petro Canada gas station over an hour away from her home the previous month. A proud member of Bigstone Cree Nation, it was completely unlike her to be out of touch and even though the RCMP has never officially named a suspect in the case, her family has a strong feeling that they know exactly who was involved in Mary's disappearance. Hans Christian, classically trained as a cellist in his native Germany, emigrated to 1980s Hollywood to study bass guitar and pursue a career as a rock musician. More than three decades later, the performer, recording engineer, producer and multi-instrumentalist has lived a fascinating story (complete with famous people like Billy Idol, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Ram Dass, to name just three) – including his serendipitous meeting in San Francisco with Northern Sky's Doc Heide and Fred Alley, planting the seed about a place called Door County that Christian today calls home. Christian talks with Debra Fitzgerald about his career, his current work at his Studio 330 in Sturgeon Bay – and about being nominated for a Grammy in 2023 for his original music, Ocean Dreaming Ocean, in the category of New Age/Ambient/Chant.

While the Green Bay Packers have announced the succession plan for retiring team President Mark Murphy a year in advance, most nonprofits don't have the luxury of planning for succession in leadership positions. Northern Sky Theater is one of the few that had a plan in place for the transition, and new Managing Director Holly Feldman joined the podcast to talk to Myles Dannhausen Jr. about the process and the benefits of putting a plan in place. She also discusses highlights of the 2024 season, and how Northern Sky handles the ever-unpredictable Door County weather at a theater in the woods.
Hosted on Acast. When English singer/songwriter Nick Drake released his ambitious second album - 'Bryter Layter' - in 1971, he all-but-squashed any chance of commercial success by failing to promote it. Three years later the troubled artist was gone. A tactile model of the night summer northern sky for the teaching of astronomy to the BVI by E. Pérez-Montero et al. on Wednesday 23 November Astroaccesible is an outreach project hosted by the Instituto de Astrof'{i}sica de Andaluc'{i}a - CSIC aimed at the teaching and popularisation of the astronomy among all publics independently of their capabilities and abilities, paying special attention to the collective of blind and visually impaired (BVI). Among the different strategies and resources using in our project, we have developed new 3D models representing in relief some of the stars, constellations and deep sky objects that can be observed during night from the Northern hemisphere in spring and summer. These models can be used by BVI to transmit to them the spatial configuration of the sky during night, but can be also used as an additional resource for all kind of publics to complement their sensorial experience. We also describe additional resources based on sounds that can also be employed to get deeper into this multisensorial experience. Finally, we summarize some of the activities and the context in which this new material has been used in the last 2 years. arXiv: http://arxiv.org/abs/http://arxiv.org/abs/2211.11707v1

Evidence for neutrino emission from the nearby active galaxy NGC 1068 by IceCube Collaboration et al. on Monday 21 November We report three searches for high energy neutrino emission from astrophysical objects using data recorded with IceCube between 2011 and 2020. Improvements over previous work include new neutrino reconstruction and data calibration methods. In one search, the positions of 110 a priori selected gamma-ray sources were analyzed individually for a possible surplus of neutrinos over atmospheric and cosmic background expectations. We found an excess of $79_{-20}^{+22}$ neutrinos associated with the nearby active galaxy NGC 1068 at a significance of 4.2$,sigma$. The excess, which is spatially consistent with the direction of the strongest clustering of neutrinos in the Northern Sky, is interpreted as direct evidence of TeV neutrino emission from a nearby active galaxy. The inferred flux exceeds the potential TeV gamma-ray flux by at least one order of magnitude. arXiv: http://arxiv.org/abs/http://arxiv.org/abs/2211.09972v1
When a young woman faces a life-changing decision, she calls upon her inner circle to gather for an outdoor camping trip. Sunflowered is on stage at Northern Sky's Gould Theater, and Andrew Kleidon is joined by Lachrisa Grandberry, Molly Rhode, Alexis J Roston, and Aidaa Peerzada to talk about the musicals inception, workshopping, and world premiere this season.
We check in with our outdoor theater friends, Sara Young (Managing Director) at American Players Theatre and Jeff Herbst (Artistic Director) at Northern Sky Theater. A great conversation about both companies and insight into how theater makers are faring this summer.
Darkthrones sagnomsuste "A Blaze in the Northern Sky" var bandets andre plate - og verdens første norske black metal-album. Hva tenkte folk da de hørte "A Blaze in the Northern Sky" for første gang? Hva gjorde Satangruppa i Kripos? Icelandic-born, Sweden-based singer/songwriter/pianist Anna Gréta was born in music (her father is acclaimed jazz saxophonist Sigurður Flosason) and has performed with some of the great Nordic jazz musicians of today. On October 29, she will release her debut album, Nightjar in the Northern Sky, via ACT Music. The record emerged from a period of two years and was partly influenced by the isolation of the global pandemic. It includes twelve original compositions, shaped by tinges of the familiar sonic Nordic surrealism, nature and Anna Gréta's own process of self-discovery. As an official press release puts it, "with each of the tracks on this album, she creates self-contained worlds that are part of a bigger picture, light-footed, relaxed, reduced, concentrated. And a remarkably multilayered, immersive and beautiful experience." --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jazziz/support

Andrew Kleidon is joined by Northern Sky's Artistic Director Jeff Herbst to talk about the 2021 season. What did the company learn from a year of virtual performances? And a look at all of the shows coming up in Peninsula State Park and at the Gould theater in Fish Creek this year.
Andrew Kleidon and Myles Dannhausen sit down to talk about a trifecta of Gibraltar news stories, including a lawsuit between the town and the Alibi Docks, the school district looks at starting 4K kindergarten, and three administrators have resigned in less than a month. Dorothea Rockburne (Canadian, b.1932) is a painter and a draughtswoman, as well as a mixed media and installation artist. Born in Montréal, Quebec, Rockburne began classic training in Painting, Drawing, and Sculpture in 1942 at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Paris, France, where she studied under the Abstract artist Paul Emile Borduas (Canadian, 1905–1960). After winning a scholarship, Rockburne studied at the Montréal Museum School, where she began to distance her artistic style from the classical manner she had been studying since a young age. Moses Martin Reinblatt (Canadian, 1917–1979), one of Rockburne’s teachers at the museum school, convinced her to apply to Black Mountain College in Asheville, NC, which was known for being the radical art school of the time. Rockburne attended Black Mountain College from 1950–1955, studying a variety of subjects including Painting, Music, Dance, Math, Theater, Linguistics, Philosophy, Literature, Writing, Poetry, and Photography. Rockburne moved to New York, NY after she graduated. Although she won the Walter Gutman Emerging Artist Award in 1957, Rockburne struggled with her art, and so she turned to dance and performance art for several years. During this time she took on some side jobs to support herself, including a bookkeeping job at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY, where she catalogued the Egyptian Antiquities collection. Rockburne took a great interest in the art of ancient Egypt from a young age, and she later incorporated this interest into her works entitled Egyptian Paintings (1979–1980). In 1963, Rockburne began assisting her friend and former schoolmate Robert Rauschenberg (American, 1925–2008). For the next five years Rockburne worked in Rauschenberg’s studio; she participated in various performances with other artists, including Claes Oldenberg (b.1929) in a work entitled Washes (1965) at Al Roon’s Heath Club in New York City. A year later, Rockburne was working in her own studio again. She incorporated mathematics into her art, inspired by dance and how the body moves through space. Rockburne produced her Set Theory installations, which were first shown in 1970 at the Bykert Gallery, NY, with this new inspiration. In 1972, Rockburne received a Guggenheim Fellowship and traveled to Italy, where she continued her studies in Italian Art, and began to merge her classical training into her work. In the early 1990s, Rockburne began to study Astronomy and frescoes, combining these interests to create a major fresco secco for SONY headquarters in New York City entitled Northern Sky, Southern Sky (1992–1993). In 2001, Rockburne participated in the comprehensive exhibition The Universe: Contemporary Art and the Cosmos, combining her knowledge and skill in Art, Music, Science, and Astronomy. She has received many awards and honors during her successful career including the National Endowment for the Arts grant (1974), the Witowsky Prize for Painting (1976), participation at the 1980 Venice Biennale, and a membership in the Department of Art at the American Academy of Arts and Letters (2001). https://www.dorothearockburne.com @tipntell tipntellpodcast@gmail.com Host & Cover Art: Cydney Williams @cydneywilliamsstudio Sound & Music: Ian Eckstein @ian_eckstein Listen on Breaker, Google Podcasts, Pocket Casts, Radiopublic, Spotify, Copy RSS, Anchor, Apple Podcasts, Youtube, & IGTV

The crew approaches the lost city, home to an elusive illicit empire - and a forbidden utopia, far from the grasp of governing nations lost to the swirling dust and blistering rage above. It is said the singular harbinger of safe passage to below the mortal trenches of Deadark is held here... and at last the Dream is within reach. Myles chats with Jeff Herbst, Artistic Director of Northern Sky Theater about their difficult decision to cancel their outdoor season, what that means for them as a company, but also what it means for the actors and crew they employ each year. Also, Myles speaks with Cain Goettelman of FLS Banners about how their company shifted gears to manufacture PPE for the hospital, as well as custom masks for the community.
In this episode, I describe how I got interested in space as a young boy. Then I give a description of how to draw a basic star map for the Northern Sky in March. This was recorded for a friend's podcast (Covid19Ed Podcast) intended for a younger audience isolated at home during the Covid crisis. I sum up with a reference to Carl Sagan's story of Contact and where we can find intelligent life.

Your host, Monslyht, reviews the essential black metal album “A Blaze in the Northern Sky” by Darkthrone.
In this inaugural metal episode, Scott and Robin discuss the very explosive, weeks long Twitter tirade that Nails frontman Todd Jones unleashed against Metalsucks earlier this month, why stoner icons seem to have so much trouble with their toes, Corey Taylor threatening all of the innocent people of the world with “dark jazz” album, some good old fashioned classic rock trolling and if anyone really cares that Tool have (allegedly) finished a new album. ****************************************************** “Party Crowd 2” by Kolezan is licensed under CC BY 3.0 “Bong Hit” by OnionEye is licensed under CC BY 3.0 “Breath in and out Cigarette” by OnionEye is licensed under CC BY-NC 3.0 “Metal Loop” by thunderstorm10 is licensed under CC BY 3.0 “Scream 1” by TheSubber13 is licensed under CC BY-NC 3.0 "Death Metal Track" is licensed under CC BY 3.0 ****************************************************** Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel and like us on facebook, Instagram, and on Twitter.
