Rainer Zitelmann, historian and author of New Space Capitalism, brings a genuinely different angle to the billionaire space race — SpaceX ran 165 of the world's 324 orbital launches last year and put 80% of all payload into orbit, making it larger than the entire Chinese space program. The more interesting argument is about property rights: the 1967 Outer Space Treaty bars nations from claiming celestial bodies but is silent on private companies, and Zitelmann argues the legal gap will be filled the same way the American West was — settlers took the land first, government legalized it later. On this episode we are joined by Dr. Rainer Zitelmann, to discuss his book New Space Capitalism: The Entrepreneurial Path to the Stars. We discuss why government-funded space programs were initially successful but also why the future of space exploration, and the space economy, will be driven by private companies. Dr. Zitelmann explains what he believes to be the key driver of unlocking the economic potential of space and why it's conceivable that ventures such as space tourism, orbital data centers and asteroid mining might be listed on the stock exchange.

Deutschland verliert rasant an Wohlstand – durchschnittlich 14.000 € pro Haushalt seit 2021.

Today, The Two Mikes spoke with the prominent economist, historian, sociologist, and author Dr. Rainer Zitelmann about his fine new book Unbreakable Spirit: Rising Above All Odds. Dr. Zitelmann said his book is about physically disabled individuals who refuse to adopt the persona and soothing-but false excuses of victimhood –sexism, racism, feminism, capitalism -- and instead seek to take advantage of the initiative to use their powers to not only survive, but to thrive. Dr. Zitelmann discusses the achievements of 20 unique individuals – including the blind Saliya Kahawatte who climbed the seven highest mountains on the seven continents, Beethoven, who composed the 9th Symphony when nearly deaf, and the extraordinary success of singer Ray Charles in rising from a ruined life to preeminence ins his field— who provided all of us the lesson that what makes a person great is his or her ability to transform weaknesses into strengths and overcome limitations.

What You Need to Know is ousting Speaker Johnson might be the best chance to save a GOP majority in November. Rep. Thomas Massie (KY-4) has been blowing the lid off of the spin and deception behind what's being voted through the U.S. House. The Establishment is fear mongering that any principled opposition to Johnson will essentially usher in a Speaker Jeffries… But what if the opposite is true?  Dr. Rainer Zitelmann is a historian, sociologist, and bestselling author of 28 books. He joins Ed to discuss his book How Nations Escape Poverty: Vietnam, Poland, and the  Origins of Prosperity. Dr. Zitelmann explains how nations succeed, the critical role of market capitalism in the developmental processes, and how the development of economies across the world have proven Adam Smith right time and time again. Kenneth Rapoza, business journalist and analyst at the Coalition for Prosperous America, joins Ed to discuss the growing dominance of the Communist Chinese on the global market. Specifically, China is breaking into the global energy industry, being marketed as the ‘Green OPEC'. Europe is facing stiff opposition in the global market. Wrap Up: The House activity and looming speaker fight show once again that our biggest battle, biggest issue, biggest need for attention in America is the war against the Deep State. What You Need to Know is that across the developed world, birthrates are in free fall. Whether you look at South Korea, Italy, or the United States, first-world countries are dropping below replacement rates to keep their population afloat and keep the economy properly functioning. This will turn into a crisis. Some on the left recommend mass migration as a solution, but that is a “solution” with far more drawbacks than benefits. What is most important is that we stop the leftist anti-family propagandizing and policymaking. It is good for American men and women to settle down and have children. Not only is it good, but it is necessary for the survival of the nation. Dr. Rainer Zitelmann is a historian, sociologist, and bestselling author of 28 books. He joins Ed to discuss his book How Nations Escape Poverty: Vietnam, Poland, and the Origins of Prosperity. Kaya Hudgins alleged that her school coerced her into participating in Eastern religious practices. Savage speaks with best-selling author and historian Dr. Rainer Zitelmann to debunk the myths about capitalism and expose the growing threat of socialism. German-born Zitelmann first explains how Hitler's policies were more anti-capitalist than commonly believed. He also criticizes the shift towards planned economies in Europe and the US, using Poland as an example of a country that suffered under a planned economy after World War II but has since turned towards capitalism. They discuss the increasing popularity of socialist ideologies worldwide and warn about the consequences of socialist experiments, using Venezuela and Vietnam as examples. He also criticizes wealthy individuals who support higher taxes and Democratic politicians despite potentially negative consequences for their businesses. The professor believes nations forget why they became successful and replace capitalism with a victimhood mentality. He also criticizes entrepreneurs and conservatives for not fighting for capitalism and instead focusing on their businesses, while intellectuals create theories of socialism and blame capitalism for socialism's failures. Today, The Two Mikes spoke with the prominent economist, historian, sociologist, and author Dr. Rainer Zitelmann about his fine new book Unbreakable Spirit: Rising Above All Odds.Dr. Zitelmann said his book is about physically disabled individuals who refuse to adopt the persona and soothing-but false excuses of victimhood –sexism, racism, feminism, capitalism -- and instead seek to take advantage of the initiative to use their powers to not only survive, but to thrive.Dr. All of these individuals, Dr. Zitelmann said, consciously or unconsciously, followed what has been, until recently, an integral part of the American character, and was followed by many others in the Western world, namely what is often called the “American Spirit”, which holds that each person is the master of his or her life and failure in seeking one's goals is the individual's fault not the fault of other people or of “the system”.Indeed, Dr. Zetilmann argued that this kind of spirit owes much to living a life in a vibrant capitalistic society, as socialist ideology is always intent on making people dependent and to see themselves as hopeless victims of the socialist system. --Dr. Rainer Zitelmann's new book Unbreakable Spirit: Rising Above All Odds is available at Amazon and many other booksellers.

Capitalism – what's the story behind the word and a cross cultural survey of peoples attitudes to it. Laurie Taylor talks to Michael Sonenscher, Fellow of Kings College, Cambridge about the evolution of a word which was first coined in France in the early 19th century. How has its meaning changed over time and how can a historical analysis shed light on political problems in the here and now? What's at stake in our understanding or misunderstanding of the term? They're joined by the German sociologist and historian, Rainer Zitelmann, whose latest study argues that many people are buying into myths about Capitalism and includes the largest international survey of attitudes towards our economic system. He finds negative attitudes to be widespread, including in Great Britain, the motherland of Capitalism - only in 12 countries are attitudes more critical. What accounts for this disillusion?
