Drummer, DJ, producer, Oscar-winning documentary director, composer and musical director Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson joins SCORE from John Mayer's private writing room at Henson Recording Studios!Ahmir discusses the absolutely bonkers music mashup from 50 years of Saturday Night Live, featured in the documentary LADIES & GENTLEMEN: 50 YEARS OF SNL MUSIC. Plus, how he discovered SNL really doesn't have any “theme song” despite its iconic sound. He also discusses his two other Emmy nominations for SLY LIVES!, a documentary about the great Sly and the Family Stone, and as musical director for an SNL Homecoming concert. How his start in a performing arts school in Philadelphia led him to meet Tariq Trotter (Black Thought) and form the band The Roots. Questlove reveals the long-anticipated new album, 10 years in the making, will be released in early 2026.He also dives into his other ventures — from Oscar-winning SUMMER OF SOUL (which won right after the infamous Will Smith / Chris Rock slap moment — that Ahmir missed at the time) — to his early experiments on potentially directing a live-action THE ARISTOCATS film for Disney, which he reveals likely isn't moving forward at this time.Plus, drumming on buckets, acting with John Mayer on an iconic Chappelle's Show sketch, and why one of his biggest dreams remains getting to perform with The Roots on SNL.Interview by Kenny Holmes and Matt Schrader at Henson Recordings Studios in Hollywood. Neon couldn't burn any brighter than it is now. The film production and distribution company acquired the rights to six consecutive Palme d'Or winners at the Cannes Film Festival: Parasite (2019), Titane (2021), Triangle of Sadness (2022), Anatomy of a Fall (2023), Anora (2024), and It Was Just an Accident (2025). Parasite was the first foreign language film to win Best Picture at the Academy Awards in 2020. Longlegs became the highest-grossing independent film in 2024. Director Sean Baker won 4 Oscars for his film Anora tying with the one and only Walt Disney for most Oscar wins in a single night. All of this from a studio that's only been around for 8 years. Film industry veteran Tom Quinn cofounded Neon in 2017 and has marked a distinct lane for himself in a crowded and, let's be honest, less-than-innovative industry. In this episode of Creative Control, Quinn traces his journey from actor to executive and explains how he's positioned Neon to be the "anti-algorithm" in a streaming world. He also gives his perspective on what's holding the wider film industry back and what Neon needs now to make their success sustainable.  For more of the latest business and innovation news, go to https://www.fastcompany.com/news To listen to the latest episodes of Creative Control on Fast Company:https://www.fastcompany.com/podcasts/creative-control

Tom Martin on the Five Levels of Legal AI and What GPT-5 Means for the Future of Law

    The Geek In Review

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 11, 2025 31:22

This week, we welcome back Tom Martin, CEO of LawDroid, to discuss his widely read “AI Law Professor” column for Thomson Reuters and his five-level roadmap for legal AI. Martin explains that the framework was inspired by a leaked OpenAI memo and aims to give legal professionals a clearer picture of AI's trajectory. The five levels range from basic chatbots to fully AI-run organizations, with intermediate stages such as reasoners, agents, and innovators. According to Martin, while we are still in the early stages, the release of GPT-5 and its reasoning capabilities has accelerated progress toward higher levels, especially in the development of autonomous agents. The conversation turns to the implications of GPT-5's hybrid reasoning model, which combines inference with step-by-step reasoning to deliver more relevant answers. Martin sees this as a significant shift for the legal industry, moving beyond single-response chatbots toward sustained, goal-oriented AI. He predicts that while the technology for fully autonomous legal agents could be available within a year, widespread adoption in law firms and corporations will take closer to three years. However, with these advancements come ethical concerns. Martin outlines four principles for responsible AI agents: transparency, autonomy, reliability, and visibility, cautioning that AI's knowledge is always bounded and potentially incomplete.Reflecting on the legal industry's pace of change since their last discussion, Martin notes that while some firms are sprinting to adopt AI, others may already be too late to catch up. He warns that professional services organizations must actively integrate AI to remain competitive. The discussion explores the potential for tech giants or AI companies to acquire major legal information providers, and Martin argues that the future lies in blending software, consulting, and education into a unified service model. This integrated approach, he believes, will be necessary for survival in a market where AI is capable of generating solutions without traditional software development cycles.Beyond the legal tech roadmap, Martin shares insights from his teaching at Suffolk University Law School and his observations from producing the “Last Week in Legal AI” news series. He sees both opportunities and risks for the next generation of lawyers, particularly in acting as translators between AI systems and legal practice. The discussion touches on generational attitudes toward AI, with younger users showing both skepticism and heavy reliance on AI for personal and professional support. Martin also addresses societal concerns, from AI in mental health applications to job displacement, and stresses the importance of curating AI outputs with human judgment. The episode wraps with Martin's update on the American Legal Technology Awards, set for October 15 at Suffolk University Law School in Boston, which he describes as “the Oscars of legal tech.” When asked about the biggest challenge for the next few years, Martin points to the uncertainty of where professionals will fit in a rapidly shifting world. He envisions a possible new model that combines service, education, and software to deliver legal help at scale, but stresses that no one knows exactly how the future will unfold. His hope is that the AI-driven abundance ahead will be shared broadly, without excluding people from its benefits.Links:Keep up with Tom's podcast and latest thoughts on the law and innovation at: lawdroidmanifesto.comNab some tickets to this year's Oscars of Legal Innovation at: americanlegaltechnology.comListen on mobile platforms:  Apple Podcasts |  Spotify | YouTube[Special Thanks to Legal Technology Hub for their sponsoring this episode.] Blue Sky: @geeklawblog.com @marlgebEmail: geekinreviewpodcast@gmail.comMusic: Jerry David DeCicca

We are kicking off a brand new miniseries on Oscar-winning Best Director follow-up films from the 2000s, starting with Steven Spielberg's bold and deeply divisive “A.I. Artificial Intelligence.” TV critic and Vulture writer Roxana Hadadi joins Phil and Emily for a wide-ranging conversation that digs into the movie's legacy, Kubrick's influence, and how the film hit differently post-Oscars and post-9/11.They dive into the unique collaboration and friendship between Kubrick and Spielberg, how “A.I.” bridges fairy tale and sci-fi, and what it means for love, grief, and humanity to be filtered through the eyes of a robot boy. The group explores how the film's themes of artificial intelligence, the uncanny valley, and the pursuit of parental love feel even more relevant today in a world grappling with AI and rapid technological change.Other topics include Haley Joel Osment's incredible performance, Jude Law's scene-stealing Gigolo Joe, the eerie brilliance of Teddy, and why this film has remained both underappreciated and deeply beloved by fans. They also talk about the Oscars' resistance to science fiction, the film's release in a world still haunted by 9/11, and the surprising emotional impact the film has had on different audiences, including its resonance with the trans community. It is a deep dive into one of Spielberg's most complex and haunting films, a movie that still raises questions about love, loss, technology, and what it means to be human.Follow Roxana Hadadi on Instagram: @roxana.z.hadadiWant even more? Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesWith the MCU's latest big screen offering now in theaters, as rabid fans, it only makes sense to look to the future, and apparently Marvel and Sony agree, as myriad fresh details surrounding the franchise's next film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day began hitting the internet all weekend. First, last Friday morning Sony released a 9-second video teasing features of Spidey's new suit, which was quickly followed up with a 23-second video with star Tom Holland, in suit, performing some minor acrobatics the next day. Finally, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the longstanding rumor that Mark Ruffalo is reprising his role as Bruce Banner/The Hulk for the film, while Better Call Saul actor, Michael Mando, was also announced to be returning as Mac Gargan/The Scorpion. The Fantastic Four: First Steps continued its box office reign, raking in $39.6 million its second weekend for a $368 million total global haul. While far from a defeat, the staggering 67% drop from the flick's first weekend presents a significant loss in momentum and is in stark contrast with expectations, which were largely fueled by positive reception and strong word of mouth among critics and fans. Elsewhere, Superman crossed the $550 million milestone internationally, and Jurassic World: Rebirth passed $750 million at the global box office after 5 weeks in theaters, becoming only the third film of 2025 to do so behind Lilo & Stitch and A Minecraft Movie. Amazon MGM's upcoming James Bond film being directed by Dune's Denis Villeneuve, is quickly coming together as Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has been hired to pen the script. Apart from Peaky Blinders, Knight has enjoyed a storied career on the small screen as a screenwriter, director and producer involved with projects such as Apple TV's See and Netflix's All The Light We Cannot See, while also co-creating Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? As far as big screen contributions, he wrote the screenplays for Eastern Promises and Spencer, which were both Oscars-nominated, and directed the films Hummingbird, Locke and Serenity, the 2019 film starring Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway. Considering candidates for our new Bond, as if we could ever get enough of Tom Holland, the actor went on record to voice his reverence for the role as the “pinnacle” for British actors, while seemingly disqualifying himself by announcing another break from acting in 2027.Per Deadline, Matt Smith has joined the cast of Shawn Levy's Star Wars: Starfighter in a villain role, set to appear alongside Ryan Gosling and Mia Goth in the film set for May 28, 2027. The House of the Dragon star gets another shot at the Star Wars universe after previously being cast in The Rise of Skywalker but ultimately not appearing in the final film.John Krasinski announced he's returning to direct, write and produce A Quiet Place Part III, set for release on July 9, 2027; no cast or story details have been revealed.Disney and Lucasfilm announced Star Wars: A New Hope will return to theaters on April 30, 2027, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the film.Aaron Sorkin has his sights set on Oscar winner Mikey Madison and Emmy winner Jeremy Allen White to star in The Social Network Part II, with Madison potentially playing a whistleblower and White as journalist Jeff Horwitz behind the explosive Facebook Files exposé. While no formal offers have been made, sources say these are Sorkin's top choices for the sequel that will explore Facebook's role in various controversies rather than serving as a direct continuation of the 2010 film.

In this episode of The Big Impression, Kelly breaks down how Diageo is turning tequila into a global cultural force. One standout example: a six-city collaboration with DJ and fashion icon Peggy Gou that combined out-of-home, merch drops, pop-up events and hyperlocal storytelling. From a Hong Kong hot pot party to a Milan piazza activation, every detail was designed to blur the line between brand and experience.  Episode TranscriptPlease note, this transcript  may contain minor inconsistencies compared to the episode audio. Damian Fowler (00:00):I'm Damian Fowler.Ilyse Liffreing (00:01):And I'm Ilyse Liffreing.Damian Fowler (00:02):And welcome to this edition of The Big Impression.Ilyse Liffreing (00:08):Today we're talking about how one of the fastest growing categories in the spirits industry, tequila and mezcal, is being shaped by culture, identity, and global consumer trends.Damian Fowler (00:20):Our guest is Sophie Kelly, SVP of Global Tequila and Mezcal Categories. At Diageo, she's leading the strategy behind some of the world's most iconic tequila brands, helping Diageo navigate its growth, changing cultural expectations, and the new ways consumers connect with celebration.Ilyse Liffreing (00:39):We'll talk about how Diageo is bouncing global scale with local storytelling, and in short, how tequila has become a cultural force beyond just the shot glass.Damian Fowler (00:50):So let's get into it.Ilyse Liffreing (00:51):Diageo is no stranger to bold campaigns and really intersecting in today's culture. How does your latest work in the tequila and mezcal category continue that legacy? And with your latest campaigns, what was one core story or rather insight that you're trying to bring to life?Sophie Kelly (01:13):Our moment of consumption is normally when people are out socializing, trying to have the best times of their lives or celebrate a major moment in their life. So think birthdays, weddings,Ilyse Liffreing (01:25):Or even here atSophie Kelly (01:26):Can, even here at can, right festivals. So what is really important for us as we build our brands and think about how we go to market is that we are creating experiences for consumers to participate in. I think some of my favorite stuff across the category is on Don Julio. I mean, we launched a brand new product, 1942 Manys, which was a 50 ml supposed to allow people to access the luxury of 1942 at a better price point in a fun format. And we did that in the Oscars, right? But the most recent one, which I just adore and am still obsessed with and is still going, would be our cultural global collaboration with Peggy Goo. She is a number one DJ globally. She's also an icon in the fashion world, and she creates a load of fashion jewelry. We discovered her in Southeast Asia and she was a massive fan of 1942.(02:32):As marketers, we just started to ride along with her and gift her and be a part of her experience. So we approached her and said, any interest in creating a 1942 special limited edition with us? And she was blown away. She was like, yes, but can I design the product? Can I design the experience? Can it be global? Can it travel? Can it be teased? We said yes to all of the above. So we started off in Miami where we had an intimate party, but that intimate party probably had influences at it that had over a hundred thousand followers on Instagram. So we started to tease the collaboration, which was called the 1942 goo. And that's a really important element because we changed the logo of 1942 to be 1942 goo. We teased the campaign with outdoor and these events and we went from Miami to New York, to London to Milan and then to Seoul and then to Hong Kong. New York had a pop-up souvenir store in a car park. When we went to Milan, we did it in a piazza. When we went to London, we did it differently. When we were in Hong Kong, we did a hot pot pop-up. One of the most special parts of the experience was in Seoul, right in her home neighborhood and right next to where she was going to perform. And that was already up six weeks before it came. So we are teasing the drum roll in and the desire for people to be a part of this limited experience.Ilyse Liffreing (04:12):Now, I know you're talking a lot about out of home, but what were some of the other marketing channels that you leaned into for this campaign?Sophie Kelly (04:18):Everything in the popup was consumable or was collectible. So whether it was the key chains, whether it was the hats, whether it was her specifically designed scars, consumers could collect it, they could create content on it and they could share it broader. So then what started to happen was they were creating their own content. She was creating her own content and influencers within her sphere were creating their own content. And then there was the tease that we were moving to a new city. So that was creating a hype in that. So when you think about channel mix, it was digital, it was static, it was experiences, real life experiences, and most importantly, actions doing something, not just talking about it and then providing people with beautiful little artifacts that they could collect from the experiences to participate and create around.Damian Fowler (05:18):We want to get to what your takeaways are in a minute, but before that, I want to ask you, it is interesting when you watch the kind of trajectory of different spirits, it seems like tequila's having a serious moment right now. I mean, for example, in New York, just the other week I ordered a mezcal Negroni, it wasSophie Kelly (05:39):Amazing. 800 new craft brands have been launched into tequila in the last, I dunno, two years.Ilyse Liffreing (05:47):Wow, that is a lot.Sophie Kelly (05:47):So we are seeing a boom in tequila in the same way we saw in North American whiskeys in bourbon in the last five, six years and as a global business unit that I represent. So you are running the gamut of understanding the benefit of the experience of tequila, which is high-end tequilas that are incredibly versatile, that are suitable for multiple occasions and multiple drinks in a culture like the US to teaching people that tequila is no longer that bad shot you had in college. How do you educate? How do you train, how do you get these drinks into culture so that people choose them? Well, you got to have strong brands. You got to have the love of the bartender and the on-premise and you create the biggest rituals there beyond anywhere else, and they travel into the home and then you've got to pick up how consumers are interacting, right? So I'll give you a fun one. For example, we were in the ski fields and we observed that people were taking hot chocolates in shot glasses and then they were tipping the mini that I gave you, the 1942 mini into the top of the shot glass, and that was a serve. So we took that and we scaled it across the ski resorts, right? So from simple mixed drinks to sipping age liquids to fun novel rituals in clubs is how you really fuel what's going on.Damian Fowler (07:19):In terms of takeaways, do you have any kind of data points that show the growth and interest in this category?Sophie Kelly (07:26):It's the fastest growing spirits segment in the category right now and is forecasted to be that way for the next five years. So if you've got spirits running at about three or 4%, you've got tequila running at about six to 11%, which is kind of amazing. It's also very specific on its development. So if you look at the US, it's more developed. You look at Mexico, it's very developed and the rest of the world it's between five and 15% penetration. Give you a fun fact like whiskey and vodka is up around 36, 42 depending on the market. Yeah, too many people associated tequila with college shots. That is not the experience of tequila. It is playing across high energy. It's in the club, it's with the VIPs, it's with the celebrities, but it's also playing in casual connect moments and simple mixed drinks. So you're able to get into cocktail culture as well as simple mixed drinks. So I think that's a lot of the key to the growth we're seeing and just the versatility and the taste profiles.Damian Fowler (08:36):Now that the campaign's out there, you did hit on some of these obviously, but are there key signals and metrics that you look to on your dashboard? As it were,Sophie Kelly (08:45):Our consumers had watched over 190 days of content. We got up to 9 billion impressions, which is pretty extraordinary. And what I'd say is lots of chat about AI and is it going to take over. I think the beautiful combination of cultural collaboration with talent, the right kind of elements in the experience to create talkability and then utilizing tech from a generate insights about the communities and how we're going to combine them and what they need in the experience to also distribution, right? Taking the influencer content, taking the bartender content, taking the experience content and amplifying that out to further bigger audience was critical on distribution.Ilyse Liffreing (09:34):Sophie, can you tell me whether there is a market or a moment that delivered the most surprising engagement or maybe taught you something new out of this whole campaign?Sophie Kelly (09:46):One of the most surprising stats was just how many hours of content our consumers consumed on the campaign because it was so engaging, right? The other thing I'd say is as she traveled, she went into global duty free, she signed bottles, she met consumers, and that exploded as well. So I think one of the surprising things for us was this relationship started in Singapore and then we cultivated it and then we were able to scale it globally, but also make it extremely local to that market.Ilyse Liffreing (10:30):So Sophie, from your perspective, and here's your big impression here, how are those broader cultural shifts really influencing the way Diageo approaches brand building in the tequila and mescal space?Sophie Kelly (10:46):You must create experiences that allow what we like to talk about, which is accessible luxury for people to engage in. So when you think about this, we created the baby mini Peggy Goo bottles, which are 50 ml bottles, and you can access the taste of the experience. I mean, I think formatting is a really simple way of doing it. I think inviting people in to experiences at multiple layers and letting them access a world that they may have sought was out of reach is super important when you're creating experiences. And then I think giving them little artifacts from that to carry through that represent that something special that represents the experience they were able to engage in. IDamian Fowler (11:36):Want to ask you, this is a very important question. What new drinks around tequila are available now? Are you seeing pop up?Sophie Kelly (11:43):I think you said it, the Negroni, the espresso martini. We're even doing old fashions with tequila, and that is a real result of, versus people thinking about tequila as just blanco or mixed in a margarita. We have this huge explosion in aged tequilas, which are really sourcing from whiskey moments and rituals as well as kind of the versatility of tequila.Ilyse Liffreing (12:14):So Sophie, you've worked across several iconic brands. What's one lesson about cultural storytelling that stayed consistent throughout your career?Sophie Kelly (12:22):Work with people who love your brand. Listen to what's happening with your brand and culture, and then add to that, enhance the experience. Don't interrupt it and don't make it up and don't play where you don't have a right to play. Is there aIlyse Liffreing (12:37):Non Spirits brand that you admire right now for the way it connects with people emotionally or culturally?Sophie Kelly (12:45):Labubu. Have you seen these things? Oh yes. Yeah, they are little kind of monster icons that everybody is hanging off their bags. I just love it.Damian Fowler (12:53):A final question I think is what's your favorite drink?Sophie Kelly (13:00):You know what? I am a Don Julio or a Casamigos Reposado on rocks with a slice of orange. I love my 1942, but so they're mine.Damian Fowler (13:16):And that's it for this edition of The Big Impression.Ilyse Liffreing (13:18):This show is produced by Molten Hart. Our theme is by love and caliber, and our associate producer is Sydney Cairns.Damian Fowler (13:25):And remember,Sophie Kelly (13:27):Work with people who love your brand. Listen to what's happening with your branding culture, and then add to that, enhance the experience. Don't interrupt it and don't make it up and don't play where you don't have a right to play.Damian Fowler (13:41):I'm Damian and I'm Ilyse, and we'llSophie Kelly (13:43):See you next time.

On episode 300 of The AwardsWatch Podcast, Executive Editor Ryan McQuade is joined by Editor-In-Chief Erik Anderson alongside AwardsWatch contributors Karen Peterson and Josh Parham to go back 35 years and take a look at the 63rd Academy Awards, covering the films of 1990. On this retrospective, the AW team take a trip to 1990, where actor Kevin Costner rode off the with multiple Oscars, winning Best Picture for his western Dances With Wolves. While a massive hit at the time, history has not been kind to the winner here as it has become one of the biggest mistakes in Best Picture history, with many believing this was the right time to give Martin Scorsese his due with his masterpiece, Goodfellas. Alongside talking about that, the team explores a turning point of cinema, where the big Hollywood hits made or released from the 1980s were starting to blend with the independent cinema that would dominate the 1990s. It's a fascinating year at the intersection of Hollywood's biggest night. In their in-depth discussion, the AW team talked about the film year of 1990, briefly discuss talk about Dances With Wolves as a Best Picture winner, do an extensive conversation over the below the line categories and nominees for the year, and then the new version of the AW Shoulda Woulda Coulda game, where instead of individual replacements, they must decide as a group who the nominees and winners should be in the top eight categories. The rules of the game state they can only replace two of the nominees that year from each category, except in Best Picture, where the group could replace up to three films to make up the final set of five nominated films. Like past retrospective episodes, it was a fascinating, fun conversation including spirited debates, alliances, vote swinging, celebrating various movies, performances that aren't normally talked about and more that we all hope you enjoy. You can listen to The AwardsWatch Podcast wherever you stream podcasts, from iTunes, iHeartRadio, Soundcloud, Stitcher, Spotify, Audible, Amazon Music and more. This podcast runs 2h07m. We will be back in next week for a review of the latest horror, Weapons. Till then, let's get into it. Free Thinking Through the Fourth Turning with Sasha Stone

A few years ago, if Sydney Sweeney had appeared in an American Eagle ad talking about her “good jeans/genes,” the uproar would have been just as deafening as it is today. By the end of the day, American Eagle would have pulled the ads. Sweeney would have been forced to issue a pandering, simpering apology. But none of that happened. Instead, Sweeney was celebrated, American Eagle's stock soared, and most importantly, the Puritanical Woke scolds have never looked more ridiculous. But most Americans aren't buying it. They're rolling their eyes at this level of hysteria and outrage over a silly jeans ad featuring a hot blonde, the kind we used to see all the time for all eternity until right now.Woke ideology has always been artificial and performative. It was never rooted in reality. It was a cosmetic fix for a ruling class that was too rich, too powerful, and too white. They needed symbols of virtue to absolve themselves of their privilege. It came at too high a cost. Their empire is collapsing all around them. You can't fool all of the people all of the time. Sooner or later, we must face reality and the truth. What is the truth? While beauty is in the eye of the beholder, there is still a standard, and there always has been. Take this woman, for instance. On what planet would she not be the beauty standard, and yet here she is pretending otherwise just to virtue signal to the fascists in the cult:What it all looks like to me is good old-fashioned bullying. What has shifted between older Gen-Z, younger Gen-Z, and Gen-Alpha is that they no longer want to look like sexless, genderless militant activists. This has always been acceptable for non-white women. It is only white women who have been shamed and scolded and told to de-center themselves. The best way to do that is to ugly themselves up and to celebrate everything but their beauty and their sex appeal, which was a way to punish them. So, you'd have movies like Barbie, where the hot blonde was front and center, but then standing behind her, like strategic Chess pieces, were the mandated intersectional, representative coalition. They thought it was giving equality, but it inadvertently read like “white supremacy.”Right about now, young women will flock to American Eagle to wear those jeans, signaling exactly the opposite message: they want to look hot, sexy, and desirable, because who wouldn't? Those jeans will make them feel like what it must have felt like to wear a leather jacket after The Wild One was released. American Eagle isn't trying to send a message so much as they are trying to sell jeans. After the Great Awokening, they pandered, like everyone else. Here are some examples of their previous branding:Now compare that to the latest Sydney Sweeney ad: Her ad cuts through the conformist, oppressive, stagnant monoculture like a hot knife slicing through birthday cake. Who wants to be associated with the screeching school marms on the Left now? Not teenagers, that's for sure. Calling everything racist has jumped the shark, as they say. It feels stale and yesterday's news. It doesn't feel modern, hip, and cool. Those protesting it are only making the jeans and Sweeney more popular. The criticisms were that the ad was “Eugenics” and “Nazi propaganda,” just because Sydney Sweeney said her genes determined her hair and eye color. But obviously she wasn't referencing either of those things because she knows what she's famous for.Sweeney is leaning into what has given her notoriety in our culture. She has what one might call a good “rack.” I can relate. That was sort of my entire life, being seen as the girl with a good “rack.” And every woman who has one also knows the “eyes up here” line. But Sweeney does it with a wink. She isn't shaming men for looking or noticing. She's showing them she's okay with it. How do you think we reached 8 billion people on the planet? The male gaze and women's desire to be gazed upon are nothing less than the forces that produced the entire human race. That alone is controversial now. But if the topic were only sexuality, that would be one thing. The really agonizing thing is the part about her being a white woman. That is, to the Woke, a mortal sin because whiteness is the original sin, the evil that lives inside of all of us who are white. This fanaticism has ravaged the confidence and identity of white men and women who seek to alter themselves not to be who and what they are out of shame. They dye their hair pink and blue. They wear septum piercings. They shave their heads. They wear drab clothing and try not even to look pretty. They find a way to be included in the LGBTQIA+ category so that they can be among the protected groups. In the most serious cases, they attempt to transition themselves out of their genders, which can and has sterilized them. The Woke support and celebrate this without even realizing how close that is to Eugenics. One million abortions a year can also be seen as a form of Eugenics, since all that really means is controlling births. This idea that white people should stop having babies or that we need to bring in more people of color to make our country less white is itself a form of Eugenics.True, the Nazis used it in an attempt to curate the master race, but Eugenics was practiced in this country up until the 1950s. Women were sterilized if they were seen as unfit mothers. Those who were not smart or had mental problems were also sterilized to purify the gene pool. There is only one movement that supports the sterilization of young people who can't consent, and it's not the Right. The Racism PanicThe idea that there were racists, racists everywhere, seeped into our culture after the election of Barack Obama. The fundamental differences between Liberals and Republicans on race were evident in a poll by the Washington Post that showed Liberals deliberately dumbing down their speech when speaking to Black and Brown people vs. Conservatives who don't. That meant the Right felt free to criticize Black people where the Left never would, unless it's Clarence Thomas. The panic began around 2012, with Obama's re-election and the rise of the Tea Party and Freedom Caucus. We were all conditioned to believe that these were “white power” groups rising up to attack and remove the first Black president. By then, Critical Race Theory was being taught in public schools, such as my daughter's. This coincided with Gen-Z getting online and finding their way into militant tribes that decided your worth by your identity. Before long, they formed an army of fanatics while most of us were not paying attention. They sold Trump as a “racist” and his supporters as the second “Confederacy,” and all of us believed it. Most people I know on the Left still believe it. You can imagine these two forces converging and what that might do to a society. It was nothing less than mass hysteria for the four years Trump was in power. The good news is that every episode of mass hysteria throughout our history is eventually punctured when the accusations become too ridiculous for the people to tolerate any longer. It was the accusation of witchcraft of the Governor's wife in Salem in 1692. It was “Have you no decency?” in the 1950s amid the Red Scare. I've been waiting for this moment for a long time. It always seemed like we were almost there, but the tyrannical mob would rise up and squeeze out their confess-as-a-witch-to-live apology, and we'd be back in it.So far, I don't see an apology from Sweeney or American Eagle, and I hope I never will. Because if they never apologize, they'll learn the only lesson corporations, institutions, and Hollywood need to learn. Let them get mad. Let them throw a fit. Eventually, they will exhaust themselves and take a nap, just like toddlers. I have the unfortunate curse of being ahead of the curve. It stems from 30 years online, and 25 of those years predicting the outcome of the Oscars. I've conditioned myself to read the signs that tell me where the consensus is headed.I have been warning the Left, the Democrats, and Hollywood for some time that the pendulum wants to swing and that if they don't see this coming, they will be left behind. Most of them didn't listen to me, but instead exiled me from our utopian diorama that denies reality to serve the elite. But the Sydney Sweeney ad and the reaction to it are proof enough that the tyrannical Woketopians have lost much of their power to force everyone into compliance. We're not all the way through the woods yet, but we're getting there. All thanks to a hot blonde and a company that could see the writing on the wall. Maybe now, we have good movies back. A Canadian activist remembers her friend Awdah Hathaleen. The Palestinian father, teacher and activist ... who helped film the Oscar-winning documentary "No Other Land" ... was killed in the occupied West Bank this week. Tuktoyaktuk, a hamlet north of the Arctic Circle, is already on the small side. But it's getting even smaller ... and its mayor says climate change is to blame. A group of swimmers is completing the final trip of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald in honour of its crew. One of them tells us about the surreal experience of being in the water above the wreckage. Dan Pelzer kept a record of every single book he ever read ... from 1962 right up until his death. His daughter says reading was a powerful constant in his life. A Manitoba man doesn't know who's been putting up billboards around town announcing he's terrible at fishing, but he's found an impressively charitable angle on their prank. A French resort town is reminding visitors that clothing is not optional once you leave the beach ... with the introduction of fines for those wearing bathing suits or going shirtless in town.As It Happens, the Tuesday Edition. Radio that encourages travelers to read the fines print.

Roald Van Wyk, Global Creative Commerce Lead at IPG, is issuing an urgent and compelling call that creative briefs, and the processes they fuel, must change to ensure that your brand is building trust with the best creative across every screen, and every interaction.

'The View' co-hosts weigh in on CBS and its parent company Paramount's decision to cancel 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert' as other late night hosts lend support to Colbert. Then, they question if Pres. Trump's posting spree on the Washington Commanders, Mexican Coca-Cola and the MLK, Jr. files is an effort to get the Jeffery Epstein files out of the headlines. Then, they discuss if it's okay to have age parameters in dating after the new 'Golden Bachelor' – who is 66 years old – said that his preference is women 45-60 years old. Christian Siriano discusses designing Whoopi Goldberg's 2025 Oscars look, working with the star-studded cast of judges in this season of "Project Runway" and fulfilling a lifelong dream to buy his mom a house.
