What is trauma-informed leadership, and why does it matter in today's workplace? In this episode of Wickedly Smart Women, host Anjel B. Hartwell welcomes Dr. Melanie Gray shares how trauma-informed care transforms leadership, strengthens workplace culture, and prevents burnout before it derails careers. Drawing from over 25 years in healthcare, higher education, and corporate leadership, Dr. Gray explains how trauma shapes behavior, how generational stress impacts performance, and why confidence is built through intentional self-leadership. If you are a high-achieving woman considering leaving corporate, building a consulting business, or leading teams through change, this episode delivers practical wisdom on resilience, emotional safety, confidence, and long-term leadership sustainability. What You Will Learn: How trauma-informed leadership shifts workplace culture by asking what happened to someone rather than what is wrong with them. What generational trauma and adverse childhood experiences mean for confidence, communication, and leadership development. How unresolved trauma contributes to burnout, anxiety, and disengagement in corporate environments. What practical steps leaders can take to build emotionally safe and resilient teams. How to assess personal skills and strategically prepare for a transition from corporate to entrepreneurship. What confidence truly looks like when it is built through preparation, data, and intentional action rather than perfectionism. How planning financial runway reduces anxiety when launching a consulting business. What separates sustainable business growth from temporary virality and surface-level success. How structured coaching with defined goals creates measurable transformation instead of dependency. What it takes to lead with compassion while still holding high standards for performance and accountability. FAQ: What is trauma-informed leadership? Trauma-informed leadership is a framework that considers how past experiences, including adverse childhood experiences and generational stress, influence present behavior, communication, and performance in the workplace. How does trauma affect workplace performance? Trauma can impact confidence, emotional regulation, communication patterns, and stress responses, which may show up as withdrawal, defensiveness, burnout, or disengagement. How do I confidently leave corporate to start a consulting business? Confidence increases when leaders assess their skills, create a financial runway, build required competencies in advance, and transition with a structured plan rather than reacting to anxiety or corporate restructuring. For many women, the word “millionaire” can still feel uncomfortable. Not just financially, but culturally. Many of us weren't raised to imagine ourselves as wealthy, powerful, or building seven-figure net worths. My guest today wants to change that.Bola Sokunbi is the founder and CEO of Clever Girl Finance, one of the largest financial education platforms for women in the U.S. She's a Certified Financial Education Instructor, a six-time bestselling author, and her newest book is Clever Girl Millionaire. What I appreciate about Bola's approach is that she doesn't frame wealth as a quick win or a social-media highlight reel. Instead, she focuses on the real path to building wealth: intentional decisions, consistency, and the courage to think bigger about what's possible.Bola's own story is deeply personal. She grew up in a Nigerian immigrant household where resilience and sacrifice were part of everyday life. Her mother left a successful career as an investment banker in Nigeria and came to the U.S. to start over as a nanny so her children could pursue opportunities here. That experience shaped how Bola thinks about money, opportunity, and something we explore deeply in this conversation: legacy.Because wealth isn't just about reaching a number in your bank account. It's about asking bigger questions:What do you want your money to represent? Who do you want it to help? What changes because you existed? In this episode, Bola and I discuss:• Why the word “millionaire” still intimidates many women • How to build wealth even if you're starting from debt or living paycheck to paycheck • The mindset shifts required during uncertain economic times • Navigating family obligations and financial pressure, especially in immigrant households • And why legacy isn't just about money — it's about impact.Bola's Website: https://clevergirlfinance.comBola' New book: https://www.clevergirlfinance.com/clever-girl-millionaire/ Hosted on Acast. In this webinar turned podcast, Scott Becker is interviewed by Becky Robinson, founder and CEO of Weaving Influence on his upcoming book “Building Great Businesses: Create Momentum, Overcome Setbacks, and Scale with Confidence”.
In this episode - Benjamin confront one of the most dangerous lies people live with: God can do incredible things…just not for someone like me. And for others, the belief sounds like this: Other people grow, lead, and succeed - but I'm the exception - I'm just going to settle, because what's possible for other people is not possible for me. He's going after both. This episode is about learning how to believe again or believe for the first time.Believe in what God can do. Believe in who you're becoming. Believe that there is no invisible line separating you from the people who write the book, launch the podcast, build the platform, step into purpose, and show up for the relationships that matter most. Through powerful biblical case studies (Gideon, Peter, the woman with the issue of blood), practical psychology, and straight-up truth, you'll discover why self-disqualification is costing people their calling and how to break free from the mindset of “not me.” If you've ever felt overlooked, underestimated, delayed, or unsure whether you're allowed to step into more, this episode is for you. Because there is no difference between you and them - except belief, consistency, and the courage to take the next step. So let me ask you the question that might change everything: Why not you?Episode Quote: "God rarely gives you confidence before obedience. Confidence is the reward of movement. It's competence, from repeated action, that builds confidence. You become confident because you do it again and again. Each time you step forward your faith grows because you see God show up."This episode, like all Rise and Lead Podcast episodes, is highly practical and motivating. In this Daily Shift, Celeste explores the difference between performative confidence and quiet confidence. True confidence isn't reactive, loud, or dependent on validation — it's grounded in alignment. This episode is a reminder that presence, clarity, and steadiness often speak louder than performance. Confidence doesn't have to be loud to be powerful. Small shifts create big change.

This week, Christina and Brittany are having one of those honest, unfiltered conversations. The kind where you talk about what's actually happening in your body… how aging really feels… and why health can't sit at the bottom of the priority list anymore. They dive into inflammation and how it quietly impacts everything from energy to long-term disease, the growing conversation around peptides and recovery, and the reality of navigating wellness in a world where “nothing feels real anymore.” This episode is about taking your health seriously. About discipline. About gratitude. About choosing to live in a way that doesn't leave you with regret. If you're building a life, a career, a family — none of it works if your health falls apart. This is real talk on movement, mindset, nutrition, recovery, and what it means to age with intention. We don't shy away from the skepticism. We don't pretend we have it all figured out. But we do believe this: Health is non-negotiable. About Brittany and Christina: Meet Brittany and Christina, your dynamic podcast hosts who bring their unique blend of expertise, passion, and life experience to every conversation. Brittany, affectionately known as Britt, mom, mommy, bruh, and Queen, lives in Vancouver with her husband and their three fantastic kids (tweens and teens, hence the playful nicknames). Most businesses don't have a marketing problem. They have a clarity problem. In this episode, I sit down with Tori Humphreys of Cumberland Marketing to talk about why so many companies struggle to explain what makes them different. We dive into why logos aren't brands, why “on time and under budget” isn't differentiation, and why it feels illegal to pause long enough to get clear. If you've ever thrown money at a new website, business card, or ad campaign hoping it would fix your growth… this conversation will hit home. Clarity drives confidence. Confidence drives messaging. Messaging drives revenue. Let's talk about how to slow down long enough to get it right. ----- Frustrated with your government contracting journey? When Dave Mabe backtested his strategy, it outperformed his own discretionary trading — and changed how he approached everything. In this episode, we discuss gapping breakouts, expectancy, systematic trading, drawdowns, and the reality gap between backtests and live execution. A practical conversation for traders serious about building durable edge. In this episode, we explore: · How Dave got introduced to markets: From early exposure to investing through his family to actively seeking more control over his capital and moving from swing trading into day trading. · Why rules matter: The transition from discretionary decisions to systematic frameworks — and why trading without a process is a fast path to inconsistency. · Backtesting as a “superpower”: What backtesting really does for strategy development and confidence in your edge. · Reconciling backtests with real life: Practical realities of execution, slippage, and market structure — and how to build a feedback loop so your live results get closer to your imulations. · Drawdowns and mindset: How to handle periods where a strategy doesn't behave as expected, and why many traders quit in drawdowns rather than at all-time highs. · Scaling a trading business: The difference between scaling size versus scaling breadth — and why uncorrelated strategies matter. · Practical first step for systematic traders: How to start adding structure to your trading with backtesting, even if you're not a programmer. About the guest: Dave has been a professional trader and technologist for over two decades. As a former CTO of Trade-Ideas, he has unique experience at the intersection of algorithm design, real-time market data, and automated execution. Outside trading, he writes a popular daily newsletter on backtesting and systematic strategy development, and hosts the Line Your Own Pockets podcast focused on systematic approaches to markets. Live from Joe's mom's basement (where humility is encouraged and spreadsheets are optional), the crew tackles a deceptively simple question. If most people think they're above average with money, what advice actually helps someone who isn't? Joe Saul-Sehy, OG, Doug, Jesse Cramer, and guest Whitney Hanson (Money Nerds podcast) run a thought experiment inspired by Morgan Housel's observation that nearly everyone believes they're financially smarter than the median. What straightforward moves keep someone from needing last minute financial Hail Marys? The answer isn't flashy. It's systems. Whitney kicks things off with a practical starting point: identify your knowledge gaps. Tools like Investor.gov quizzes can reveal blind spots, and she suggests theming your learning (one focus per month) so financial literacy doesn't feel overwhelming. From there, the conversation turns to controllables: cash flow, savings rate, lifestyle inflation, and career capital. Because while markets bounce around, your habits are yours. The gang also introduces the idea of a tactile money leak audit, physically reviewing spending to spot waste that autopilot budgeting apps can miss. It's less glamorous than crypto speculation but far more effective. Investing gets reframed too. Instead of treating it like a mysterious Wall Street game, they suggest thinking of it as owning small pieces of companies you already know and use. Start small. Automate it. Build reps. Confidence follows action. Insurance and estate planning round out the episode. The crew urges listeners to shop multiple advisors, understand policy details before signing, use AI to help decode fine print without blindly trusting it, and avoid overconfidence just because something sounds right. Doug keeps things lively with trivia revealing that Johnny Carson's 1982 DUI fine was a very specific $603, and OG once again proves suspiciously good at guessing. What You'll Learn: Why most people overestimate their financial knowledge and what to do about it How to identify and close your personal money knowledge gaps The key financial variables you actually control How to perform a simple money leak audit Why small, automatic investing beats waiting for the perfect moment How to make investing feel familiar instead of intimidating The basics everyone should understand about insurance and estate planning Why repetition builds financial confidence faster than theory The Big Takeaway: You don't need advanced tactics. You need consistent systems. Focus on what you control. Automate the boring stuff. Learn one thing at a time. Build margin. Repeat. Because the goal isn't to be above average. It's to be steady enough that you never need a desperate Hail Mary. This Episode Is For You If: You feel like everyone else has money figured out except you Financial advice usually feels too complicated or assumes knowledge you don't have You're tired of feeling behind and want simple systems that work You want to build confidence through action, not just theory You believe steady progress beats trying to be perfect Question for You: What was the first simple money habit that changed your trajectory? Have you ever hit a big milestone and still felt… off? You closed the deal. You reached the revenue goal. You hit the number you've been chasing. On paper, everything looks solid. But internally? Something feels slightly empty. In this episode of the Happy Hustle Podcast, I dive into three of the ten alignments from our S.O.U.L.M.A.P.P.I.N system — the framework I use to systematically harmonize ambition and well-being. Those three are: Loving Relationships Mindful Spirituality Abundance Financially These are just 3 out of the 10 alignments, but they are powerful ones. When even one of these is out of whack, you can feel it. When all three are aligned, life hits different. Let's start with loving relationships. You can build an incredible business, but if your marriage is strained, your kids feel distant, or your friendships are surface-level, it will eventually catch up with you. Relationships are not a bonus category. They are foundational. I share the L.O.V.E.R. framework to help navigate adversity in relationships: Listen. Observe. Voice. Empathize. Repair. Most people skip listening and jump straight to defending. But communication isn't just about words. It's tone. Body language. Energy. Presence. If you want a ten in your relationship, you've got to be a ten. Then we move into mindful spirituality. This isn't about religion or rigid rules. It's about connection to something bigger than your to-do list, your ego, or your quarterly targets. When you feel spiritually disconnected, everything feels heavier. You operate from stress, urgency, and control. But when you intentionally create stillness, you regain perspective. I use the reminder C.I.T.S. — Chill In The Still. Sit down. Get quiet. Reflect. Pray. Meditate. Breathe. Even a few intentional minutes of stillness per day can shift your nervous system and your clarity. Stillness builds inner strength. Gratitude. Confidence. When you are spiritually grounded, you don't chase, you align. Now let's talk about abundance financially. Abundance isn't just about making more money. It's about how you make it and who you become in the process. Over the years, I've used a simple framework called R.O.A.D.M.A.P. to generate millions in revenue, often in 45-minute Zoom calls. Not because I'm special, but because the system is aligned. R.O.A.D.M.A.P. stands for: Rapport Obstacle Aspiration Demonstration Match Ask Pull First, build rapport. Real connection. Trust. Then understand the obstacle. What problem are they trying to solve? Next, aspiration. What outcome do they truly want? Then demonstrate. Show proof. Testimonials. Real results. Match is critical. It has to be a fit both ways. I've worked with misaligned clients before and the money is never worth the stress. Then ask clearly. And finally, pull, not push. Ethical urgency. Honest scarcity. Invitation instead of pressure. Money should not cost you your peace. It should amplify your impact. It should allow you to provide, give, invest, and grow without sacrificing your integrity. Money magnifies who you already are. If you're grounded in strong relationships and spiritual alignment, money expands that. If you're disconnected, it amplifies that too. At the end of the day, fulfillment isn't built in one big achievement. It's built in daily alignment. How you love your people. How you connect to something greater than yourself. How you steward and multiply your resources with integrity. These three alignments are just part of the ten. But if you dial them in, everything else starts to rise with them. Pause. Reflect. Realign. That's how you systematically harmonize ambition and well-being. That's how you truly put the HAPPY in your HUSTLE. Connect with Cary! Your philosophy predicts your results. In today's episode, Kevin and Alan unpack the thinking patterns that quietly keep people stuck, even when they are putting in real effort. Progress is not usually blocked by laziness. It is blocked by beliefs that shape how you interpret setbacks, time horizons, and responsibility. When those beliefs go unexamined, motivation alone is not enough to create change. This episode brings a sharper lens to personal growth, discipline, and long-term success without pretending the path is easy. If you want better outcomes, it starts with better thinking and more honest self-awareness._______________________Learn more about:Track the Work. Earn the Results. What does “strength” look like when it's not domination… and not self-erasure either? In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, hosted by Sayan, we explore the quieter, steadier kind of masculinity that holds power and compassion in the same hands. This conversation is for men who want to feel grounded instead of reactive—and for anyone navigating relationships where trust, safety, and respect matter. Michael Jaquith breaks down why control shows up when inner foundation is missing, and what it means to return to values without shame when you mess up. About the Guest: Michael Jaquith is a former corporate executive turned entrepreneur and life coach who works with men. He also hosts a podcast and has written a Catholic faith-based book focused on masculinity. Episode Chapters: 00:04:56 – Setting the tone: why this topic matters now 00:08:15 – “Healthy masculinity” as a rock: stable, dependable strength 00:09:26 – The biggest misconception: fear and society's mixed messages 00:11:17 – Where distortions start: wounding, roles, and imbalance 00:13:41 – Control vs foundation: how insecurity leaks into relationships 00:17:18 – The validation trap: “If you're not enough without it…” 00:22:21 – Recalibrating without shame: identity vs actions, self-forgiveness Key Takeaways: Build an internal foundation (values, purpose, “something bigger than you”) before trying to lead. Watch for control as a warning sign: it often shows up when self-control feels shaky. Separate who you are from what you did—accountability without self-hate is maturity. Practice “enduring the storm”: stay steady even when emotions rise around you. If you're chasing validation, pause and ask: “What am I trying to prove—and to whom?” How to Connect With the Guest: Website/Podcast: https://catholiclifecoachformen.com/ Book: Available on Amazon (Catholic faith-based; Audible planned but not yet live) Want to be a guest on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life?
