Danes je, tako kot včeraj, praznik dela, ki je državni praznik in dela prost dan. Znotraj Evropske unije smo edina država, širom sveta pa ena redkih, ki praznovanju dela nameni tako prvi kot drugi maj. Ob tej priliki smo preverili, kako na delavske vrednote gledajo rudarji in kakšne so delavske razmere v turizmu, kjer se delo kljub prazniku ne ustavi. Druge teme: - Ameriški svetovalec za nacionalno varnost Mike Waltz zapušča položaj. - Turški predsednik Erdogan naj bi obiskal severni del Cipra, kjer potekajo množični protesti ciprskih Turkov. - Na mednarodnem razpisu SozialMarie za družbene inovacije na Dunaju slavil Časoris.

V Ženevi so minuli teden potekali pogovori med vodilnimi predstavniki ciprskih Grkov in ciprskih Turkov o prihodnji politični ureditvi Cipra. Šlo je za prve pogovore na tako visokih ravni po letu 2017. Generalni sekretar Združenih narodov Antonio Guterres je po pogovorih pozdravil znaten napredek, ki da sta ga v Ženevi dosegli sprti strani. Med drugim so se dogovorili o razminiranju in odprtju več novih prehodov med obema ciprskima stranema. Blaž Ermenc se je v Nikoziji s tamkajšnjimi poznavalci razmer pogovarjal o političnih razmerah na tem več desetletij razdeljenem otoku.

Piše Jure Jakob, bere Igor Velše. Pesnice in pisateljice Lidije Dimkovske verjetno ni potrebno posebej predstavljati, saj že več kot dve desetletji živi in ustvarja v Sloveniji in je tvorni del slovenske literarno-kulturne srenje ne le kot izrazit avtorski glas, temveč tudi kot zavzeta slovensko-makedonska (med)kulturna posrednica in prevajalka. Mustarjev prevod njenega romana EMŠO je izšel le leto po izidu izvirnika, ki je bil leta 2023 ovenčan s prestižno makedonsko nacionalno nagrado roman leta. EMŠO je kompleksen, premišljeno strukturiran roman, ki učinkovito prepleta dva pripovedna pramena: motivno-tematsko in po obsegu dominantno prvoosebno pripoved v približnih okvirih literarne realistike ter vzporedno fragmentarno distopično pripoved, ki ključne tematike prve (osamljenost in medčloveško odtujenost) potencira v maniri poetizirane negativne utopije. V romanu EMŠO imamo tako opravka s polivalentnim, pomensko bogatim in sporočilno večpomenskim svetom, v katerem se literarna izmišljija spretno in boleče natančno stika z nekaterimi fenomeni družbe in časa, v katerih živimo. V prvem planu dogajalne resničnosti romana je zgodba o družini Avram, kot jo pripoveduje Katerina, najmlajša članica ožje družine. Živijo v Skopju, njen oče Nikos je ciprski Grk, ki ga je njena mati Milka spoznala poleti 1974, ko si je kot sezonska delavka služila denar v enem od hotelov na ciprski rivieri na severnem delu otoka. Tisto poletje je sever Cipra zasedla turška vojska, tam živeči Grki pa so v strahu za golo življenje prebegnili na jug otoka ali pa se kot politični begunci razkropili po svetu. Eden od njih je tudi Nikos, ki s takrat že nosečo Katerinino mamo v nikoli povsem pojasnjenih okoliščinah zapusti primarno družino in z Milko zbeži v Makedonijo, kjer se poročita in si ustvarita skupno življenje. Rodi se sin Stefan, sedem let zatem pa še Katerina, glavna protagonistka pripovedi. Nikos, ki že od mladih nog boleha za težko obliko astme, je ljubeč oče, ki pa čustev do otrok ne zna izražati. Svojo begunsko travmo in spodleteli zakon predeluje z zanikanjem in potlačitvijo – zapre se vase, je pasiven, apatičen in depresiven, z bližnjimi komunicira le na ravni funkcionalnega minimuma. Ob prepirih z ženo, ki so stalnica družinskega vsakdana, ali pa če mu preprosto kaj ni prav, se iz blokovskega stanovanja zateka v svojo garažo. Edino, kar ob tem zmore storiti, je, da se vsakič priduša z istim ljudskim reklom, ki kot ponavljajoča se mantra in simbolična ponazoritev dogajalnega ozračja odmeva od prve do zadnje strani romana: "Da bi se pobral v puščobo!" Pripovedovalkina mati Milka je skoraj obrnjena podoba svojega moža. Je histerično občutljiv hipohonder, vedno in o vsem ima svoje mnenje in ob vsaki priložnosti ga brezobzirno izraža, kar pa ne pomeni, da ji je za svet okoli sebe kaj mar. V resnici je čustveno hladen egocentrik, ki zna do drugih – bližnjih in manj bližnjih – vzpostaviti le zajedljivo sovražen odnos. Je patološko negativistična oseba, ki za fasado glasnega, pikolovskega in samopomilujočega pritoževanja nad vsemi, ki ji pridejo na pot, svoje življenje neskrupulozno krmari v smer zadovoljevanja lastnih, v osnovi plehko materialnih potreb in interesov. Izredno neizprosna kritika sentimentalnega klišeja "dobre mame", kot jo z likom sebične in ozkosrčne Milke Avram razvije Lidija Dimkovska, je sicer le eden, čeprav mogoče najbolj oster izmed kritičnih nožev, s katerimi pisateljica reže v družbeno patologijo sodobnosti. Zgodba o družini Avram namreč ni romantična družinska saga. Ni niti psihološka študija nravi in značajev, ki bi jo v prvi vrsti zanimalo subtilno in pronicljivo raziskovanje osebnih motivov protagonistov in odnosov med njimi. Zgodba o odtujeni, disfunkcionalni družini (eni od mnogih podobnih) je pravzaprav prilika, skoraj moraliteta o načelni nemožnosti pristnih medčloveških odnosov v sodobnem svetu, tako na mikro kot na makro ravni. Njena osnovna intenca je kritični prikaz, ne hladna razčlemba, eden glavnih stilističnih prijemov, pa je groteska. Ne le sebična mati, tudi drugi glavni liki so pretirani, občutje odtujenosti in emocionalne neizpolnjenosti, ki pripovedovalko preveva od začetka do konca, pa prignano skoraj do neznosnosti. Družinska zgodba je sicer že od vsega začetka vpeta v širše, zgodovinsko prepoznavno in v realno okolje umestljivo družbeno dogajanje. Nastanek družine Avram je neločljivo povezan z zgodovinskimi dogodki in geopolitiko – če Turki ne bi okupirali severnega Cipra, se Nikos in Milka verjetno ne bi na vrat na nos poročila in čez noč pristala v Makedoniji. Tako kot geneza družine, ki sovpada z enim od izbruhov političnega nasilja, je tudi njeno vsakodnevno življenje, kot ga korak za korakom spoznavamo ob pripovedovanju sprva odraščajoče deklice, kasneje pa mlade, izobražene, radovedne ženske Katerine, neločljivo prepleteno z akutnimi problemi zahodne (globalno ekspandirane) družbe. Gre za vprašanja, kot so razslojenost, družbena korupcija, agresivna neoliberalna ekonomska agenda, razčlovečujoče potrošništvo, dobri stari nacionalizem, šovinizem, okoljska problematika in spremljajoče ideologije hitrih in dokončnih rešitev ter še kaj. Družinska zgodba in družbena zgodba sta ena pripoved, katere glavno sporočilo je, preprosto rečeno, da nam gre slabo, da je nekaj zares in temeljito narobe. EMŠO je angažiran roman v dobrem, netendencioznem pomenu. Za bolezni, ki jih diagnosticira, ne pozna čudežne tabletke, ampak preprosto in umetniško suvereno izvaja eno od različic starega, aristotelovskega recepta: katarzično očiščevanje s pomočjo terapije prikazovanja trpljenja. Torej: minister nič ne opozarja, uporaba izdelka obvezna!

Was haben Waldbrände mit Lawinen gemeinsam? Wie spüren Drohnen illegale Lagerfeuer auf? Wie schützt man die Einwohner:innen eines Tals vor dem nächsten Hochwasser? Wie können sich Forstbetriebe, Bäuerinnen und Bauern, Gemeinden generell besser auf Klimarisiken vorbereiten? Um diese Fragen zu beantworten, reisen wir diesmal in den Wienerwald, einen Biosphärenpark vor den Toren der Millionenstadt Wien. Dass sich die Klimakrise auch dort massiv auswirkt, zeigte ein Jahrhunderthochwasser im Herbst 2024. Doch auch Wasserknappheit, Trockenperioden und Waldbrände - oft ausgelöst durch Unachtsamkeit - treten hier und in anderen Biosphärenparks im Alpenraum immer häufiger auf. Durch Bildung und Vernetzung leisten Biosphärenparks schon jetzt einen wichtigen Beitrag im Umgang mit Klimarisiken. Sinoči so bile odigrane tekme 5., predzadnjega kola ligaškega dela konferenčne lige v nogometu. Olimpija je zadnjo domačo tekmo v tem delu tekmovanja odigrala proti belgijski ekipi Cercle Brugge. Celjani se domov vračajo s Cipra, kjer so se pomerili s Pafosom. Nekaj ekip si je že zagotovilo igranje v končnici tekmovanja, kakšne možnosti pa imata slovenska predstavnika? Tema se podrobneje posvetimo v današnji oddaji kot tudi nadaljevanju svetovnega pokala v smučarskih tekih. Karavana se je preselila v Davos, kjer se bodo najboljši tekmovalci in tekmovalke popoldan pomerili v ekipnem sprintu.

«Es braucht wahnsinnig viel Energie, so zu tun, als wäre nichts» meint Bea Albermann. Die junge Ärztin aus der Schweiz hat «Health vor Future Switzerland» mitbegründet und arbeitet derzeit als Assistenzärztin am Universitätsspital in Lausanne. Das Wirtschaftsmagazin Forbes listet jedes Jahr 30 Persönlichkeiten unter 30 Jahren, die Ausserordentliches geleistet haben. In der Schweiz befand sich 2022 Bea Albermann auf dieser prominenten Liste. Sie ist zudem Co-Autorin der nationalen Planetary-Health-Strategie des Schweizer Ärztedachverbands und ehemalige Jugenddelegierte der Weltgesundheitsorganisation. Albermann hat neben zahlreichen anderen Vorträgen und TEDx-Talks auch eine Eröffnungsrede beim von der CIPRA organisierten Zukunftsforum Alpen Liechtenstein 2023 gehalten – zum Thema Klima und Gesundheit. Kristjani zahodnih cerkva - katoliške, anglikanske in protestantskih, tudi manjše pravoslavne cerkve danes praznujejo veliko noč Gospodovega vstajenja. To je najpomembnejši krščanski praznik, ko se kristjani spominjajo Jezusovega vstajenja od mrtvih. Gre za največji čudež in srčiko krščanske vere. Kristjani verujejo v Jezusovo vstajenje zaradi pričevanj ljudi, ki se jim je Jezus - kot poročajo evangelisti - prikazal po vstajenju in jim z znamenji dokazal svojo istovetnost. V oddaji tudi o tem: - Po pomorskem koridorju s Cipra odplul drugi konvoj ladij s človekoljubno pomočjo za Gazo. - Hrvaška skupaj s še petimi evropskimi državami kupuje 20 novih protipožarnih letal. - Začenja se sezona klopov, strokovnjaki opozarjajo na nevarnost okužb.

V Gazo je po morskem humanitarnem koridorju s Cipra priplula prva ladja z 200 tonami vode, hrane in zdravil. A medtem vojna dobiva nove razsežnosti. Izraelski premier Benjamin Netanjahu je namreč odobril načrt vojaške operacije v Rafi, kamor se je zateklo približno miljijon in pol milijona Palestincev. Tem naj bi bila omogočena evakuacija na t. i. humanitarne otoke v osrednjem delu enklave, za katere pa ni jasno, ali so varni. V oddaji tudi: - Hrvaški predsednik Zoran Milanovič bo kandidiral za položaj premiera - V Rusiji se nadaljujejo predsednišle volitve, prvi dan zaznamovalo več incidentov - Rokometaši bodo po porazu proti Španiji vstopnico za olimpiske igre znova lovili že jutri

Poleg stavke zdravnikov in operaterjev na klicni številki 112 bo danes še tožilska stavka. Mineva namreč 70-ti od roka, ki ga je ustavno sodišče dalo vladi in državnemu zboru, da uredita plače sodnikov in posledično tudi tožilcev, a rešitve še ni. Nekaj drugih poudarkov oddaje: - Po srečanju koalicije naj bi bilo znano, ali bo vlada danes obravnavala pokojninska izhodišča. - Do Gaze bo po morskem koridorju s Cipra prispela prva ladja s humanitarno pomočjo. Evropski komisar Janez Lenarčič Izrael pozval k odprtju dodatnih mejnih prehodov na kopnem. - V Ljubljani se je začel Festival dokumentarnega filma, na ogled ponuja 25 celovečernih in kratkih filmov.

His name is Jay Cira and he is the Ceo of broster company Jay say hello and tell us a little bit about yourself. 00:14.42Jay CipraHey, how are you Mike how you doing um, first of all, thanks for the opportunity one whenever I get a chance to spend some time with you. It’s exciting but also the opportunity to talk about broster is great. So thanks for the opportunity and inviting me on your show here. Um. Groster company. So I’ll tell you a little bit about myself I’ve been with grocester company for 19 years now so long time can never imagine that I was going to be part of an organization this long but it’s it’s been awesome and it’s been awesome run and looking forward to another 20 years or so so it’s ah the broster company. Is actually a very interesting company and something that you know you think of a you know small business within the us. You know you think it’s fairly simple but it’s a little bit more complex than a lot of people think and that’s because we do a lot of different things. Um, broster company started back in 1954 when it was first organized and the way we got. Our started is ah there was a gentleman by the name of Lewis Phelan and Lewis Phelan was basically an inventor turned businessman and he worked for companies inventing products such as Monsanto. Good year. He worked as part of the Panama canal project et cetera and some pretty cool things. Um, but back in the 20 s he found himself running the Taylor company I think everybody here probably has heard of the Taylor company. The softa of ice cream machines that you see at most fast food restaurants et cetera. But. 01:37.99vigorbrandingUm, and hope. 01:41.93Jay CipraHe ran that organization for several years and actually from there also started something I want to say it’s like Zesto zestomatic or something like that which is another custard machine but he started that and it ended up turning into a a franchise drive-in so anyways, with that. In 9052 53 he was in the midwest and anybody who’s in knows in the midwest especially Wisconsin Minnesota Iowa Indiana it is supper club country and wherever you go not too many people know about supper clubs anymore. But there’s still are some around. And I tell you I still frequent with them because ah they got great food and talk about comfort food. They got it and a lot of them. There have ah their fish rise and their their fried chicken and while at 1 of these supper clubs Lewis ah decided to come up with his own method and what he did was. You know what we can make a better fried chicken and he took a pressure cooker and an open fryer and in 1953 he patented the first commercial pressure fryer into the us. So that’s kind of where we got our start way back when um, I’m gonna say shortly thereafter. He. I’ll developed his own marining encoding so he had a specific taste profile at the same time I think people may have heard of ah colonel Sanders. He was doing something similar. But yeah and Lewis developed the marinade and codings known as ah chickite marinade and slow bro. 02:58.80vigorbrandingSo. 03:13.83Jay CipraAh, coding which is still used today to make genuine brocery chicken. So that’s kind of where we got our start and you know we’ve been running our business through a couple different ownerships I’ll just state on that real quick. So I mean I’m going to back up a little bit because it’s intriguing to me First of all I mean you know we always talk about restaurants or cpg and the combination thereof So yours is is ah is a piece of equipment and it actually kind of. 03:53.66Jay CipraUm, even. 03:54.53vigorbrandingTranscends and kinds of slides around into it’s not a franchise but it kind of becomes a program and we’ll talk about that in a second I want to go back to supper club. So like what’s the difference between a supper club and a restaurant like tell me more I’ve never been to a supper club I’ve heard about them. You know, um what? what is it is it actually a club I mean as crazy as that sounds. 04:10.70Jay CipraWill know it. It is just it is the old school um restaurant in the Midwest and basically it’s ah if you want to go in if you go in hungry, you’re not going to come out hungry. That’s for sure. So back in the day they were the higher end restaurant which has since been replaced by a lot of the different you know che steak place et etc but people would go out there for big celebrations and when they were going to go out in the town and they wanted to have a good dinner. They went to the Supper Club but the thing that’s interesting about the supper clubs in the Midwest is you would walk out there and or sit down and immediately you would have a relish tray which would have everything you would have crackers you would have cheese and then everything you ordered would come with a soup a salad the meal. 05:03.12vigorbrandingWow. 05:03.88Jay CipraAnd a deserve. So and everything was included and it was basically you pay for that and that’s what you get and you basically would look around and all your neighbors would be there for their big meals of the week as well. 05:07.97vigorbrandingHe. 05:15.72vigorbrandingVery cool Next I’m in the Midwest you know how next time I slide into Boyoid I’ll have to find a a supper club. So that’s that that’s ah. 05:19.50Jay CipraWe got 1 right there called the butterfly club and we like to take people there. It’s awesome. Absolutely. 05:25.20vigorbrandingAh, and I assume they they sell broasted chicken of course of course. Excellent. Okay, so you know ah the the other thing that’s really intriguing to me is and and I kid you not like you know, um um um I was a kid I grew up in Hershey Pennsylvania and somehow I knew the broster name I mean. You know there’s there’s baked chicken. There’s fried chicken. There’s but somehow I knew broasted and I mean how did it permeate like how would I know that like you know were restaurants serving it. How did that all kind of come to be. 05:54.51Jay CipraWell, you know it’s interesting and again it all gets its stem from the midwest or I’ll say the ah ah the what do I want to say up upper central part of the US so if you were to take the dakoas over to Ohio go down probably to Kentucky that is where the broster market is. 06:07.84vigorbrandingUm, got you. 06:11.82Jay CipraAnd what’s interesting is we’ve really found is people have moved moved outside of the midwest. That’s how the name spreads and while that is our strongest market that we have um what we see are people start to move outside of the us and that’s where the brand starts to build and the brand recognition starts to build. Actually what’s interesting is we had a partnership with a larger chain restaurant and they were selling and I’ll just jar it. It was called Bob Evans roasted chicken. We did a branding thing and we were in all their stores and what was interesting is they did their studies. 06:41.65vigorbrandingFrom her. 06:51.28Jay CipraThey found that when they had broasted on the menu compared to just Bob Evans chicken on the menu. There was a lot more market recognition and brand recognition and people were going into the restaurants more where they called it broasted so it’s got a name. It’s good. There’s something about that name broster that. 07:03.91vigorbrandingHere. 07:09.70Jay CipraNot everybody can really put. Ah you know, get a handle of what it means or what it stands for but they know it and that’s what drives people to try it. 07:17.90vigorbrandingNow are there are are restaurants using that name now to to to enhance. Ah I mean we see like ah co promos with like say a Jack Daniels chicken or things like different things on menus or you know ribs or whatever you mean are people using roasted as a as a marker and paying for a trademark there. 07:24.31Jay CipraThat. 07:31.46Jay CipraNo absolutely they are using it as a marker and we we like to call that as grocery chicken is a a champion menu item and what a lot of people will do with that is they’ll take a section of the their menu. And they actually describe the cooking processt etc and what it means and then they’ll have whatever meals that they serve there but they will use broster on their menu once like so I’m from you know I live in Chicago land area. Our our companies inloit. But um, you know a lot of people have Vienna beef for hot dogs on their signs in Chicago. 08:02.67vigorbrandingHere. 08:06.45Jay CipraAnd for the same thing at these restaurants and the way we’ve always sold 2 restaurants is this is your champion menu item and it’s worked for people. 08:15.54vigorbrandingAnd it’s Amazing. So I Want to talk about sort of that that brand that Trademark. Ah, it’s a piece of equipment. It’s a broster so we have broasted chicken I can’t really think of ah and maybe I just I can’t think of another brand tied to a machine that is part of like the trademark. So for instance. Ah, we we have you know kettlec cooked Chips. We don’t It’s not ah Trademark Kettle. It’s just they say they’re kettle cook obviously in in food marketing when you have a descriptor with it. It just makes it better I mean you know you know healay and sea salt or whatever you know like it always sounds like it’s Better. So. 08:43.72Jay CipraUm, right. 08:50.60vigorbrandingUm, is there something else out there that that has like ah is like a broster or that we would know that you know you hear a name tied to it. It just seems so unique to me. 08:56.59Jay CipraWell, it’s a little bit different and I want to take a step back here because it broster isn’t tied to the equipment alone. Okay, and like I said when it was a personally when we were you know incorporated 1954 it wasn’t just the equipment. It was the equipment and the marinities and codexs. 09:03.58vigorbrandingOkay. 09:14.84Jay CipraSo Basically what it is is if you want to call yourselves or say that you’re using Broster chicken or serving broster Chicken. It has to have this it starts with the marinades and the coatings actually uses the fryer and then you have to use the process that we dictate. On that to actually call it genuine Brocester Chicken. So It’s not just the fryer you want to call it brocester chicken you have to use our Marin needs our coatdings our equipment and cook to our process then you’re able to call Gender Brocester chicken. 09:34.46vigorbrandingGotcha. 09:43.76vigorbrandingVery cool nice that makes a lot of sense then I know it’s it’s interesting because ah because that name is so like I don’t know it’s almost like Kleenex and people just know it. It’s the the brand is is sort of like the product. 09:53.16Jay CipraUm, yeah. 09:57.45vigorbrandingUm, there’s trademark issues I mean people tried to use your name and I know that you have to track that down sometimes in fact I remember there was a time I was driving in the back waters of New Jersey headed to the beach and I saw this big sign. It said the guy said you know I said broasted chicken. It looked like he was handmade so I reached out to you. And I know you’d looked into it so talk about that the trademark protection process and all that kind of thing. 10:20.11Jay CipraSo You know it’s It’s interesting and it’s It’s actually ah, there’s quite a bit of work there and protecting the Trademark. So We do have something that’s out there and like you said earlier a lot of people know what it they know the name but they’re not really sure what it is. And one of the things we found is people have tried to say that broaster chicken is tied to the pressure fryer as you mentioned earlier not only the brocester pressure dryer but any pressure fryer that’s out there and actuality like I said it’s tied to the marinates. It’s tied to the coatings is tied to the pressure fryer and our equipment. 10:46.11vigorbrandingAnd. 10:51.32Jay CipraSo people out there and actually some of our competitors will even say well you’re using fresh fryer just go ahead and call it broaster chicken. You can’t do that. We have broster broasted Genuine Broster chicken and anything around the name Bros Broaster etc is been trademarked by the broster company. So we own all those trademarks. 11:08.31vigorbrandingMe. 11:10.72Jay CipraSo as people go in and may oh let’s just say ah we’ll we’ll be. We’ll be nice, accidentally use the name or sometimes accidentally on purpose use that name. Um, we’ll hear about it and the interesting thing is originally when I first got in the business I’m like So what are our distributors tell us about it. 11:21.49vigorbrandingAh, yeah. 11:29.98Jay CipraOur operators tell us. But how do we hear? we actually get more call from Consumers. Um, than we do from the actual restaurants and our distributors because they go in and said hey we went in for a genuine broaster chicken and it wasn’t general Roaster Chicken I Want to let you know because you don’t want them using their name. Ah your name. Because it’s not the same quality Chicken. So Our consumers are our biggest ah police for monitoring our bread. 11:56.29vigorbrandingThat’s fantastic. That’s very cool and look. You said it started in the Midwest Wisconsin to to be precise supper clubs all that. But you you have a business that’s actually building outside of that I mean Middle East india can can you talk about that a little bit. 12:07.10Jay CipraUm, yeah, we actually we’ve been international business for global business for as long as barster is is been incorporated so to speak. Um, we have distributors I I shouldn’t say as long but quite a long time. We have distributor in the Middle East um that we’ve been working with for I think the past sixty years and we’ve been working in the Middle East I’m going to say internationally we have a strong market in the international in the Middle East we have a strong market in the Australia market and then we have a very strong market in Canada so those are the 3 marks that are really booming for us right now. 12:40.90vigorbrandingUm. 12:46.51Jay CipraAnd what we’re also seeing is just like the us as they get outside of the central us we’re seeing them as they gets out of those 3 areas they’re starting to grow different markets as people are seeing people want western brands and we give them opportunity to get in like you said before. 12:57.27vigorbrandingHere. 13:03.60Jay CipraAh, with a restaurant brand or something that looks and feels like a franchise but it’s not a franchise and we’re able to get into different food service Menues internationally and as people want this western brand they see genuine broaster chicken and they want it and they want to grab onto it and it’s been working very very well for us. 13:07.16vigorbrandingWho. 13:21.15vigorbrandingVery cool. Well I mean let’s but let’s one with that. So ah, you know we we know about restaurant franchises and franchisees franchisors and you know you have Kentucky fried chicken. You have all these but broster kind of goes about it in a different way. So if I have. A bunch of convenience stores I could I could talk to you about a program isn’t that correct. 13:37.98Jay CipraYes, absolutely so. We sell what we call a licensed trademark program and basically what that means is you can go in if you want to use like I stated early the pressure prior our marinades and codings and cook to our process. We will signed a licensed trademark agreement with you. And you’re able to use that and advertise that um at your facility now what we don’t do anymore is allow people to use broster in their name but we do allow them to use on their menu and say serving genuine broaster chickent etc. But it couldn’t be Michael’s broster chicken ah, ah, for example, but um. 14:06.36vigorbrandingYou. Right? right. 14:15.90Jay CipraYeah, so we sell it as a trademark program. We renew that every year with them and through our distributors we make sure they’re doing it right? And if they’re following the program and they’re serving quality chicken then we continue on with that agreement as long as they would like. 14:30.52vigorbrandingYeah, and you don’t want it in the name because if Mike doesn’t do a good job with the product. All of a sudden it really can affect your brand. Yeah. 14:37.40Jay CipraExactly right? pull in a product and you know we’ve had the situation where people weren’t serving to our quality or you know and and the other side where they weren’t properly using Genuine Brocester chicken where we have talked to them and they’ve pulled it off their website pulled it off their menu etc because. Again, we want our brand represented correctly. 14:55.10vigorbrandingUm, yeah, and and it’s amazing because it obviously is a fantastic product so much so that there’s ah, a really large convenience store that really hangs its hat on its chicken I mean. I’m seeing all kinds of advertising about the quality of their chicken and it’s your product Basically right I mean. 15:09.96Jay CipraYeah, so I wouldn’t say it’s our product but it’s definitely using our our equipment our cooking methodology so to speak. But you know royal farms chicken in the I want to say the Norton I shouldn’t say royal farms chicken but that’s actually how they’re becoming more and more known but royal farms convenience stores. Um, they used to just be in the northeast and basically now they’re going up and down the the eastern coast there but they they’re known for their chicken program and we started working with them I’m just going to say five ten years ago somewhere in there and basically have ah. 15:31.52vigorbrandingE. 15:47.62Jay CipraStarted using our pressure fires and they’re selling more chicken and doing a great job and the partnership that we’ve worked with them and developed with them has been a great partnership because they do serve quality product and as that’s associated with our equipment and what it’s Producing. You know that’s something that we’re we’re proud to stand behind and prior to be partners with people like that now one of the things is we go down this path a little bit. You know as I said before we make our our marinise and coatings we have equipment. Um, we have different food products et cetera. If an opportunity comes up and somebody is serving high quality chicken but they want to use their own recipe so to speak and use their own brand. We do have a strong piece of equipment. We feel. It’s the highest quality pressure out in the marketplace right now. 16:34.16vigorbrandingM. 16:38.83Jay CipraUm, we will partner with those companies while they can’t call it roaster chicken. They can still use our equipment and prepare. For example, Royal Farms chicken. 16:46.44vigorbrandingYeah I mean it’s kind of ah it’s kind of an amazing thing because again, what a great Brand Royal Farms I mean quality product quality stores. Great great ah message and they’re really using your product. Um is there is there other products that that I mean I I know that the the machine is not quote unquote pro. It’s ah it. Ah, it’s a pressure friar and it’s a quality product. Is there anything else that you’ve ever heard of people putting in that I’ve I’ve read online of Apple pies. 17:24.22Jay CipraApple pies um breakfast burritos. One of my favorite products. We don’t have it anymore but we used to have ah a frozen food product. What? Ah, there were many cheesecakes all those are outstanding. But if you just talked. Really 2 products and the main product that we are manufacturing and selling right now is called the smoke aroma barbecue boss and it is a pressure smoker and what I liked about this opportunity was it has pretty much the the same functionality as what a pressure firering does. But it’s kind of you have everything that you need with the broaster name and the broster products to just drop that into your restaurant and you’re going to have a top quality restaurant or top Quality. Ah menu item on your on your menu but food service has expanded so far. Um, that you have convenience stores you have college and universities you have grocery stores, Cetera etc that are looking to put in programs and they’re looking to put in branded programs because it’s something about a a brand that Grabs people’s name. So What were. 21:35.40vigorbrandingMe. 21:51.50Jay CipraYou know one of the main areas of focus is further developing out our programs to truly fit into sea stores grocery stores um college and universities even prisons et cetera different things that we can do to get out there and get out in the food service marketplace and give them an option. They see what we do on the program side. They know what our quality of the food that it produces they start looking into it so we are innovating not only from a how to go to market perspective to some of these opportunities but also innovating from our equipment side. For example, we we’ve just introduced and we’re putting putting out a new um piece of equipment called the eseries e standing for for efficiency e series twenty four and what that is is. That’s the 8 head pressure frier. Um, but it also has an automatic lift as well as automatic oil management system. So we basically you know in today’s market it’s harder and harder to get labor. So we’re innovating by side and how to reduce some of the labor. So what we’ve done is taken out I mean we used to be able to instill to this day we have somewhere. You drop the chicken in a basket and you have to pick pick the basket out of the oil and then dump the chicken on the side. Well in all cases with the the operational conditions that we have from a people perspective. It’s getting harder and harder to retain people. We’re giving an option where basically you load it on a tray and you push a button. And it goes down into the oil when it’s all done. You push a button that comes out of the oil and all you have to do is pick up those trays and chicken and it’s much easier and faster method for the for the operator. So innovation. Um, and then expanding our our footprint into other food service markets. 24:00.94vigorbrandingThat’s super smart I mean I know like just from personal Experience. We’ve been hired by some of the the world’s largest I’ll say food service ah companies and to your point they want a branded program so they can’t just have a coffee shop on campus they want to have like ah. You know, ah you know petes you know,? whatever Columbian coffee or whatever they they want to brand it to it and experience and what I always found amazing about your product Brand is. It’s already Turnkey I Mean there’s a piece of equipment you buy it. You then? commit quality Product. You have the the seasonings you have the program and you have a name and it’s like like you said franchise without franchise fees. It’s like it’s already known and it’s already going to be a quality product and there’s something that that seems so obvious to me about that that that I really feel has a. 24:37.50Jay CipraYeah. 24:50.63vigorbrandingAh, tremendous opportunity. So it’s ah it’s it’s very exciting so all opportunities I mean like you know we to hear about people. You know you said about some people throw the the turkey and into the pressure friar. Ah, great team that can really walk them through the process and we have a great training program not only on their site but also in bulllight Wisconsin where we invite in operators. She goes I grew up on roaster because as a matter of fact, my husband didn’t know what roaster chicken was but that’s what they served at their wedding so we want to continue to build those stories and we want to continue to build the traditions with families. And I ordered fried chicken I said he got it test out the competition. So I’ll have it often. But as a matter of fact I just had a piece of chicken broster chicken as I was leaving office yesterday. So I have it quite frequently. Um, as far as my last meal that’s a tough one and I just say it’s a toss up so I’m gonna throw it too. Um, I used to spend a lot of time. My daughter went to northeastern university in Boston and she played ice hockey for their team and while out there I fell in love with 2 restaurants. So I just say there’s 2 places that I would go ones probably would be my you know if it would be my last meal. Če se na prvi pogled zdi, da gozdovi v Sloveniji dobro kljubujejo podnebnim spremembam, pa se v resnici v gozdovih marsikaj dogaja. Bolj kot bo v naslednjih letih vroče, večja bo ogroženost drevesnih vrst, ki trenutno prevladujejo v naših gozdovih. Bomo na območju Slovenije do konca stoletja imeli samo še sredozemsko makijo? Jernejka Drolec se je ob robu posveta, ki so ga organizirale nevladne organizacije Focus, Društvo za opazovanje in proučevanje ptic in CIPRA, o vlogi gozdnih sistemov v luči podnebnih sprememb pogovarjala z dr. Primožem Simončičem z Gozdarskega inštituta Slovenije. Vprašala ga je, kakšne scenarije za gozdove izrisujejo raziskave.

Tra il 2000 e il 2014 i ghiacciai alpini hanno perso 22 chilometri cubi di ghiaccio, l'equivalente di uno strato di ghiaccio di oltre mezzo metro sull'intera superficie della Svizzera. Solo nel 2022 la perdita registrata è stata di quasi 3'000 milioni di metri cubi di ghiaccio, che corrispondono a oltre il 6% del volume residuo. Insieme a quelli del 2003 e del 2011, si tratta di uno dei peggiori ritiri degli ultimi cento anni. Dall'inizio degli anni ‘70 fino al 2003, la superficie dei ghiacciai si è ridotta di un terzo. Il record negativo lo detiene il ghiacciaio del Morteratsch in Engadina. Proprio qui, l'estate scorsa, ha fatto tappa la Carovana dei Ghiacciai, la campagna di Legambiente Italia e Cipra che quest'anno ha sconfinato in Svizzera e in Austria proprio per testimoniare che il problema delle nevi perenni affligge tutti gli Stati e non un solo versante.

Dr. Matej Ogrin, izredni profesor na Oddelku za geografijo ljubljanske Filozofske fakultete in vodja nevladne organizacije CIPRA, je zagovornik planetarne solidarnosti in trajnostnega razvoja. Čudi se mladim, ki zahtevajo avtocesto, izum prejšnjega stoletja, in dvomi v smiselnost širitve ljubljanske obvoznice ter glavnih vpadnic v prestolnico. Ob koncu tedna mobilnosti, ki ga je marsikdo praznoval čakajoč v dolgih kolonah, opozarja, da širitev cest generira le še več prometa. Zelenskis – globālās politikas zvaigzne. Ungārijas īpašā nostāja Krievijas agresijas pret Ukrainu sakarā. Grieķija saglabā politisko kursu. Aktualitātes analizē ārpolitikas eksperti Rinalds Gulbis un Jānis Kapustāns, Nacionalās Aizsardzības akadēmijas pētnieks. Grieķija saglabā politisko kursu Grieķijas labēji centriskajai valdībai ir izdevies iegūt valsts iedzīvotāju nozīmīgas daļas uzticību, un tā arī turpmāk paliks pie varas stūres. To ļauj secināt 21.maijā notikušo vēlēšanu rezultāti, saskaņā ar kuriem līdzšinējā varas partija „Jaunā demokrātija”, viena no vecākajām grieķu partijām, ieguvusi apmēram 41% balsu un, attiecīgi, 146 no 300 Grieķijas parlamenta deputātu vietām. Partijas sniegums ir nedaudz labāks nekā iepriekšējās vēlēšanās 2019. gadā, taču šoreiz ar to ir par maz, lai, kā līdz šim, veidotu vienpartijas vairākuma valdību. Iemesls tāds, ka starplaikā ir stājies spēkā jauns vēlēšanu likums. Agrāk vēlēšanās proporcionāli tika sadalītas 250 deputātu vietas no 300, savukārt atlikušās piecdesmit tika papildus piešķirtas vislabāko rezultātu ieguvušajai partijai. Tagad šāda kārtība ir spēkā tikai tad, ja pēc vēlēšanām koalīciju izveidot neizdodas un tiek rīkotas atkārtotas vēlēšanas. „Jaunās demokrātijas” līderis, premjerministrs Kiriaks Micotakis, jau paziņojis, ka īstenos tieši šādu scenāriju. Parlamenta sastāvs ir tāds, ka viņam šai ziņā ir visas iespējas. Galvenais konkurents, Radikāli kreiso un progresīvo koalīcija jeb SIRIZA, kas bija pie varas līdz 2019. gadam, tikusi vien pie 20% balsu un 71 deputātu mandāta. Šai bijušā premjera Alekša Cipra partijai nav iespēju izveidot vairākuma koalīciju ne kopā ar idejiski tuvo kreisi centrisko aliansi PASOK, kurai ir 41 mandāts, un pat ne piepulcinot galēji kreisos – Grieķijas Komunistisko partiju ar tās 26 mandātiem. Var piebilst, ka grieķu komunistus, kuri joprojām turas pie ortodoksālā marksisma dogmām, no mēreni kreisajiem šķir arī visai liela ideoloģiska plaisa. Piektais spēks, kas iekļuvis parlamentā, ir galēji labējā, ultranacionālistiskā partija „Grieķu risinājums”. Kā SIRIZA veiksmes atslēgu komentētāji min visnotaļ pozitīvo ekonomikas izaugsmi, kas pagājušogad sasniegusi 6%. Premjerministram Micotakim, acīmredzot, ir izdevies pārliecināt vēlētājus, ka viņš ir īstais, kurš spēs arī turpmāk uzturēt šo attīstības tempu. Zelenskis – globālās politikas zvaigzne Viens no Ukrainas prezidenta Volodimira Zelenska talantiem, kuram likusi izpausties viņa valsts izmisīgā cīņa pret Krievijas agresiju, ir māka veidot un uzturēt starptautiskos kontaktus. Pateicoties tiem, Ukraina saņem arvien plašāku sabiedroto palīdzību, kas palielina tās cerības uz kara mērķu sasniegšanu. Un laikam gan nav nejaušība, ka tieši šobrīd, kad kuru katru brīdi tiek sagaidīta Ukrainas spēku ofensīva, valsts vadītāja ārpolitiskā aktivitāte sasniegusi vēl nepieredzētus apjomus. Aizpagājušās nedēļas nogalē un pagājušās nedēļas sākumā viņš apmeklēja Romu, arī Vatikānu, Berlīni, Parīzi un Londonu, tiekoties, attiecīgi, ar premjerministri Meloni un prezidentu Matarellu, pāvestu Francisku, kancleru Šolcu, prezidentu Makronu un premjerministru Sunaku. Visos gadījumos galvenais temats bija atbalsts Ukrainai, kas, jo sevišķi Londonā un Berlīnē, ietvēra arī ļoti nozīmīgas ieroču piegādes. Savukārt pagājušajā piektdienā, 19.maijā, Francijas valdības sagādātā lidmašīna nogādāja Zelenski Saūda Arābijas rietumu pilsētā Džidā, kur uz kārtējo samitu bija pulcējušies Arābu valstu līgas vadītāji. Saprotams, šī ierašanās nebija iepriekš izziņota, un sevišķi netīkama tā nepārprotami bija ciešākajam Maskavas sabiedrotajam arābu pasaulē – Sīrijas diktatoram Bašaram Asadam, kurš pēc 12 gadu pārtraukuma atkal ticis pielaists līgas sanāksmē. Starp samita dalībniekiem bija dažs labs, kurš uztur draudzīgas attiecības ar Kremli, un arī pārējie ietur neitrālu nostāju, dažos gadījumos sniedzot humāno atbalstu Ukrainai, taču nepievienojoties sankcijām pret Krieviju. Gluži citāda gaisotne valdīja pasaules septiņu ietekmīgāko brīvā tirgus valstu jeb G7 samitā Japānas pilsētā Hirosimā, kur Zelenskis ieradās sestdien. Arī šajā gadījumā līdz pat nolaišanās brīdim nebija skaidrs, vai Ukrainas līderis pievienosies samita dalībniekiem. Dažas stundas pirms tas notika, Savienotās Valstis paziņoja, ka tās apmācīs ukraiņu pilotus lidošanai ar iznīcinātājiem F-16 un neiebildīs, ja sabiedrotie nodos šos modernos lidaparātus Ukrainai. Tāpat jau pirms Zelenska ierašanās G7 līderi deklarēja apņemšanos izvērst tālākas sankcijas pret Krieviju, lai kavētu tās militāro spēju pieaugumu. Kā atzīst novērotāji, pēc ierašanās Ukrainas vadītājs nepārprotami kļuva par samita zvaigzni, tomēr visa notikuma svarīgākais akcents palika nemainīgs, un tā bija Ķīnas ekspansija reģionāli un globāli. Pieņemtajos dokumentos nosodīta Pekinas tendence izmantot starptautisko tirdzniecību kā ietekmes sviru un pausts nepārprotams atbalsts Taivānas neatkarībai. Ka ierasts, samitā piedalījās arī Eiropas Komisijas prezidente Urzula fon der Leiena, Eiropadomes priekšsēdētājs Šarls Mišels, kā arī uzaicinātie vairāku citu valstu vadītāji. Kā sevišķi nozīmīga tiek atzīmēta prezidenta Zelenska tikšanās ar Indijas premjerministru Narendru Modi. Īpašie viedokļi Pagājušajās dienās Eiropas politikas degpunktā jau atkal nonākusi Ungārijas un tās premjera Viktora Orbana īpašā nostāja Krievijas agresijas pret Ukrainu sakarā. Ungārija turpina bloķēt kārtējo militārās palīdzības izmaksu Ukrainai piecsimt miljonu apmērā no t.s. Eiropas miera mehānisma – finanšu instrumenta, kas paredzēts Eiropas Savienības partnervalstu aizsardzības spēju stiprināšanai. Tāpat Budapešta atsakās piekrist nākamās savienības sankciju paketes ieviešanai, kuras fokusā ir cīņa pret Krievijas sankciju apiešanu caur trešajām valstīm. Konkrētais iegansts, ko min ungāru puse, ir Ungārijas banka „OTP Bank”, kuru Kijiva iekļāvusi karu atbalstošo institūciju sarakstos. Kā apgalvo Budapešta, šādas apsūdzības esot nepatiesas. Pirmdien notikušajā Eiropas Savienības ārlietu ministru sanāksmē, kur risināti tieši šie jautājumi, kā informējuši anonīmi avoti diplomātu aprindās, esot notikusi diezgan asa viedokļu apmaiņa starp Vācijas ārlietu ministri Annalēnu Bērboku un viņas ungāru kolēģi Pēteru Sījārto. Bez jau minētā konkrētā apstākļa Ungārijas ārlietu resora vadītājs izteica arī vispārīgākus argumentus par to, ka sankcijas pret Krieviju esot bezjēdzīgas un līdz šim nav devušas nekādus rezultātus. Vakar intervijā aģentūrai „Bloomberg” šo tēmu izvērsa arī Ungārijas premjerministrs Viktors Orbans. Paziņojis, ka viņa viedoklis nesakrītot ar „Eiropas meinstrīmu”, viņš postulēja, ka Ukrainai nav izredžu uzvarēt karā pret Krieviju un, attiecīgi, militārs atbalsts tai tikai turpinot asinsizliešanu; vienīgais risinājums esot sēsties pie sarunu galda ar Maskavu. Ungārijas valdības īpašā nostāja, kā zināms, ir bijis pastāvīgs drauds Eiropas Savienības vienotai rīcībai, reaģējot uz Krievijas agresiju pret Ukrainu. Tāpat Ungārija kā NATO dalībvalsts joprojām nav akceptējusi Zviedrijas uzņemšanu aliansē. Šai ziņā Budapešta pievienojusies striktākajai Zviedrijas uzņemšanas pretiniecei – Turcijai. Turcijas ieskatā Stokholma sniedz atbalstu kurdu teroristiem, savukārt Budapeštai netīkot Zviedrijas aizrādījumi par demokrātijas stāvokli Ungārijā, kas, ka zināms, ir jau ilglaicīgs spriedzes moments tās attiecības ar Eiropas Savienību. Visai izplatīts ir ieskats, ka situācija varētu mainīties pēc Turcijas prezidenta vēlēšanu otrās kārtas, lai kāds arī būtu tās iznākums. Ankarai mainot savu nostāju, Budapešta negribētu palikt vienīgais autsaiders. Pirms dažām dienām intervijā telekanālam CNN prezidents Erdogans gan vēlreiz uzsvēra, ka Zviedrija neesot labojusies un, attiecīgi, neesot pieņemama Turcijai kā NATO dalībvalsts. From the alpine plateau to the wild river in the mountains: How can visitor flows be managed in a meaningful way? What are the problems involved? How and by whom could they be solved? Four pilot regions sought answers to these questions in the speciAlps 2 project. The current CIPRA podcast reports. Where a few decades ago there were still lonely valleys with mystical waterfalls and crystal-clear mountain lakes, today cars are jammed on access roads and visitors get in each other's way looking for the next insider tip. In some areas of the Alps, pictures like these are unfortunately part of everyday life. Four pilot regions in the Alps have set themselves the goal of changing this: The Tiroler Lech Nature Park/A, the Kamnik and Savinja Alps/SL, the mountaineering village of Balme/I and Bad Reichenhall/D. They developed measures to manage the growing number of visitors. In the CIPRA podcast the coordinators of the pilot regions talk about problems and approaches to solving them. They talk about what politics, tourism, regional development and other decision-makers can do to ensure that nature and visitors benefit equally. This current episode of the CIPRA podcast was produced by the Alliance in the Alps network of municipalities. What can visitors themselves do to protect sensitive natural areas? What are my resources and what are yours? Which ones are in danger and which ones are our lives dependent on? What resources does it take to make a change towards sustainable development in the Alps? The CIPRA-project Re.sources was tackling these questions by bringing people from different Alpine countries to work together. Meanwhile, “job shadowing” gave 24 participants the opportunity to work for one of the partner organisations in the Alps for three to seven days. In this way, the project strengthened exchanges and learning between the organisations. Young people gained an insight into the working world of an NGO and expanded their professional network. One of these young people is Polona Zakrajšek. Polona is 24 years old and from Slovenia. She did a bachelor in geography in Ljubljana, but is currently staying in Prague in Czech Republic for one more year, doing her master's degree in Forestry, water and landscape management. During the summer, she was doing field work in forest ecology and mountain forests. Maya Mathias interviewed Polona about her experiences within the Re.sources project and job shadowing at CIPRA international. Around 120 million people visit the Alps every year. The crowds leave an enormous footprint, as over 80 per cent of journeys are made in their own cars. Behind this is often the fear of losing control and uncertainty about being able to remain mobile. Yet it is perfectly possible to get from A to B by more climate-friendly means of transport such as train and rail, while still experiencing relaxed travel away from traffic jams and noise, as well as authentic encounters. This was demonstrated by the young people who travelled to and through the Alps this summer with "Yoalin". The project from CIPRA celebrated its successful conclusion on 19 and 20 September in Innsbruck/AT. www.yoalin.org

La perspective de l'ouverture de la galerie de sécurité du tunnel du Fréjus et de la fermeture concomitante du tunnel du Mont-Blanc, pour travaux, deux mois aux automnes 2022 et 2023, font bondir les associations écologistes (France nature environnement, Mountain wilderness, Commission internationale pour la protection des Alpes, Vivre et agir en Maurienne, Réseau air 74, Amis de la terre)… Elles craignent « 5000 véhicules supplémentaires sur la VRU de Chambéry et en Maurienne ». Dans une lettre ouverte aux élus de tous bords et à toutes les institutions (Etat, Région, Département et communes), les écologistes, s'estimant « devant le fait accompli », demandent des explications sur les modalités et conséquences de cette politique de transport « favorisant une fois de plus le transport routier, en opposition avec tous les discours des autorités ». A leurs yeux, « les 1 700 poids lourds par jour passant dans le tunnel du Mont Blanc doivent être réorientés sur le ferroviaire et non sur l'autoroute de Maurienne. La ligne ferroviaire Ambérieu – Modane, modernisée en 2012, est très largement sous utilisée avec moins de 3 millions de tonnes de marchandises par an alors qu'elle peut en transporter jusqu'à 15 millions ». He is a Professor of Biogeography, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services at the Goethe University Frankfurt. He spoke at the online bee conference "Let’s bee together", the final event of the BeeAware! project. Over the past three years, the BeeAware! project has inspired communities throughout the Alpine Arc to protect wild bees and honey bees, and thereby improving the livelihoods of these important pollinators. Jaunais EP sasaukums un ES līderi, G-20 - finanšu ministru un Centrālo banku vadītāju grupas tikšanās Japānā, Osakā, Grieķijas vēlēšanas svētdien. Notikumus studijā komentē Latvijas Ārpolitikas institūta pētnieks Aldis Austers un Latvijas Radio Ziņu dienesta korespontente Ella Semjonova. Grieķijas vēlēšanas 7. jūlijā Grieķijas pilsoņi dosies pie vēlēšanu urnām, lai ārkārtas vēlēšanās ievēlētu 300 vienpalātas parlamenta deputātus. Precīzāk – tiešās un proporcionālās vēlēšanās tiks ievēlēti 250 deputāti, savukārt atlikušās 50 mandātus saņems papildus visvairāk vietu ieguvušais politiskais spēks. Iepriekšējā vēlēšanu reizē 2015. gada septembrī šis uzvarētājs bija Radikāli kreisā koalīcija jeb „Siriza”, tomēr arī ar papildus iegūtajiem 50 mandātiem tai pietrūka divu vietu līdz absolūtajam vairākumam. Tā nu, lai izveidotu valdību premjera Alekša Cipra valdību, radikāli kreisajiem nācās veidot koalīciju ar nacionālradikāli populistisko partiju „Neatkarīgie grieķi”, maksājot par to ar vairāku ministru vietnieku portfeļiem. Kaut arī tobrīd – Grieķijai finansiāli joprojām smagā situācijā – „Siriza” baudīja pietiekamu vēlētāju atbalstu, jau drīz pēc vēlēšanām atbalsts tai sāka kristies, un kopš 2016. gada sākuma visās vēlētāju aptaujās to konsekventi un nozīmīgi apsteidz tradicionālais konkurents – liberāli konservatīvā partija „Jaunā demokrātija”, kuras priekšgalā tobrīd nostājās jauns un enerģisks līderis – bijušais baņķieris Kirjaks Micotakis. Tagad viņš pārliecinoši vada šo spēku pretim svētdienas vēlēšanām, solot grieķiem ekonomikas atdzīvināšanu ar reformām un investīcijām labvēlīgāku politiku, noziedzības apkarošanu, pielaidīgāku budžeta noteikumu panākšanu no Eiropas Komisijas starptautiskajām aizdevējorganizācijām. Tiek lēsts, ka „Jaunā demokrātija” pat varētu kļūt par pirmo spēku apmēram desmit gadu laikā, kas iegūst absolūto vairākumu parlamentā.   G20 samits Osakā G20 jeb „Divdesmitnieka grupa” dibināta 1999. gadā ar sākotnējo mērķi veicināt pasaules finanšu stabilitāti, un sākotnēji darbojās kā valstu finanšu ministru un centrālo banku prezidentu forums. Grupu veido 19 ekonomiski ietekmīgākās pasaules valstis un Eiropas Savienība, kuru organizācijā pārstāv Eiropas Komisijas un Eiropas Centrālās bankas vadītāji. Jaunu attīstību organizācijai deva globālā finanšu krīze, kas aktualizēja vairāku ekonomiski nozīmīgu valstu ciešāku iekļaušanu globālajā dialogā. Dalībvalstu pārstāvniecības statuss tika paaugstināts līdz valdības vadītāju līmenim, kopš 2008. gada notiek ikgadējie G20 samiti. Šobrīd G20 valstis aptver apmēram 90% no pasaules kopprodukta un apmēram 2/3 planētas iedzīvotāju skaita. Šī gada G20 samits risinājās 28. un 29. jūnijā Japānas pilsētā Osakā. Tā noslēguma deklarācija postulē dalībvalstu uzticību, citējot, „brīvas, godīgas, nediskriminējošas, caurskatāmas, prognozējamas un stabilas tirdzniecības un investīciju vides” principiem. Tāpat tiek deklarēta gatavība risināt klimata pārmaiņu, piesārņojuma un citas vides kvalitātes problēmas. Tomēr pozitīvo deklarāciju fonā nepatīkami vīd konkrētās pretrunas, kuru galvenais avots šībrīža globālajā ekonomikā ir pašreizējās Savienoto Valstu administrācijas īstenotā protekcionisma politika un savrupā pieeja ekoloģijas jautājumiem. Galvenā samita tēma nenoliedzami bija ekonomisko attiecību saspīlējums starp Savienotajām Valstīm un Ķīnu – planētas pirmās un otrās lielāko ekonomiku. Relatīvi labā ziņa samita noslēgumā bija tā, ka pašreizējā tarifu karā pagaidām nav gaidāma jauna eskalācija – sarunas turpinās, ASV negrasās ieviest jaunus tarifus. Pateicoties Eiropas līderu, sevišķi Francijas prezidenta Emanuela Makrona uzstājībai, gala dokumentā paturēta atsauce uz Parīzes klimata vienošanos, gan pievienojot atrunu par Savienoto Valstu īpašo pieeju globālo vides problēmu risināšanai. Daudzu novērotāju uzmanība bija pievērsta Krievijas prezidentam Vladimiram Putinam, kura kontaktus ar pasaules līderiem neglābjami apzīmogo Krievijas agresīvā un avantūristiskā ārpolitika. Ja britu premjere Terēza Meja abu tikšanās laikā bija īsts saltuma iemiesojums, jau atkal atgādinot Krievijas līderim Skripaļu indēšanas skandālu, tad gluži citādi uzvedās Donalds Tramps, pārvērzdams jokā kādas žurnālistes piesaukto Krievijas iespējamo iejaukšanos Savienoto Valstu vēlēšanu procesā.   Eiroparlamenta sesija Otrdien uz savu pirmo plenārsesiju Strasbūrā pulcējās jaunievēlētais Eiropas Parlaments. Pirmais deputātu uzdevums bija izraudzīties jauno parlamenta priekšsēdētāju. Pilnvaru termiņš ir divi ar pusi gadi, respektīvi – puse no parlamenta pilnvaru laika. Jau kopš pagājušā gadsimta astoņdesmitajiem gadiem nostiprinājusies saspēle starp divām lielākajām Eiroparlamenta frakcijām – Tautas partiju un sociāldemokrātiem – nosaka, ka pirmajā ciklā šo amatu ieņem vienas lielākās frakcijas pārstāvis, otrajā – otras. Šāda kārtība, protams, nav pa prātam mazāko frakciju pārstāvjiem, kuru kandidāti priekšvēlēšanu debatēs tai veltīja kritiku. Tomēr tā kā abām minētajām frakcijām kopā Eiroparlamentā joprojām ir vairākums, shēma darbojās arī šoreiz, un parlamenta vadības stafeti no tautpartijieša, partijas Forza Italia pārstāvja Antonio Tajani pārņēma cits itālietis – sociāldemokrāts, Demokrātiskās partijas biedrs Dāvids Sassoli. Savulaik viens no prominentākajiem Itālijas televīzijas žurnālistiem - Sassoli pirms desmit gadiem uzsāka politiķa karjeru, tiekot ievēlēts Eiropas Parlamentā. Jāteic gan, tas notika tika ar otro piegājienu un visai nenozīmīgu pārsvaru – 345 no 667 balsīm. Taču galvenā intriga Eiropas Savienības politiku gaida pēc divām nedēļām, kad nākamajā sesijā parlamentam paredzēts balsot par Eiropas Komisijas prezidentu un Eiropas Savienības augsto pārstāvi ārlietu un drošības jautājumos. Paralēli parlamenta plenārsesijai Strasbūrā, Briselē notika Eiropas Padomes samits ar mērķi izvirzīt kandidātus uz augstākajiem savienības amatiem. Rezultāts daudziem ir pārsteidzošs – Komisijas prezidenta amatam izvirzīta pašreizējā Vācijas aizsardzības ministre Urzula fon der Leijena, ārlietu un drošības virsvadītāja postenim – Spānijas ārlietu ministrs Žozeps Borejs. Līdz ar to savienības valstu līderi ignorējuši jau iedibināto vadošo kandidātu jeb Spitzenkandidaten izvirzīšanas procesu, kas paredz Komisijas prezidenta amatā ievēlēt tikai kādu no parlamenta frakciju iepriekš apstiprinātajiem pretendentiem. Tad nu lielais jautājums ir – vai parlaments piekāpsies. Līdz ar piesauktajiem diviem - Eiropadomes samits apstiprināja kandidātus vēl divu nozīmīgāko savienības institūciju vadībai: par Eiropas Centrālās bankas prezidenti paredzēts kļūt pašreizējai Starptautiskā Valūtas fonda izpilddirektorei Kristīnei Lagardai, savukārt par Eiropadomes prezidentu, kura ievēlēšanai nav vajadzīgs Eiroparlamenta akcepts, kļuvis līdzšinējais Beļģijas premjerministrs Šarls Mišels.

Raidījumā Septiņas dienas Eiropā diskutējam par komunikācijas nozīmi globālajā sabiedrībā un aktuālo konfliktu jaunajiem draudiem un izaicinājumiem. Mūsdienās starptautisko konfliktu būtība ir mainījusies, informācija un komunikācija ir kļuvusi par neatņemamu karošanas sastāvdaļu. Noskaidrosim, kas ir stratēģiskā komunikācija, kādi ir tās pamatprincipi un kā var stiprināt NATO un mūsu aizsardzības spējas informācijas laikmetā. Viesi studijā: NATO Stratēģiskās komunikācija izcilības centra direktors Jānis Sārts un žurnāla „Ir” komentētājs Aivars Ozoliņš. Stratēģiskā komunikācija Starp Krieviju un Rietumvalstīm šobrīd pilnā sparā rit informatīvais karš. Esam jau pieraduši dzirdēt dažādas versijas par to, kā mūsdienās ir mainījušies draudi un kā attiecīgi ir mainījusies arī atsevišķu valstu stratēģija savu mērķu sasniegšanai. Kad runājam par stratēģiju, tad ļoti bieži izmanto jēdzienu “stratēģiska komunikācija”, bet ko gan tā īsti nozīmē? Stratēģiskā komunikācija nav negatīvas nokrāsas jēdziens. Piemēram, tā var piemist kādam privātam uzņēmumam, kura vadība domā kā mērķtiecīgi uzrunāt sava uzņēmuma mērķauditoriju. Savukārt, valstu līmenī stratēģiskā komunikācija ir ļoti tuva tādiem jēdzieniem, kā “publiskā diplomātija” vai “uztveres menedžments”. Tā ir mērķtiecīga informatīva kampaņa vai uzvedība, lai censtos uzrunāt cilvēku prātus, kas patiesībā nozīmē sasniegt politiskos mērķus. "Lielos vilcienos ir divi varianti: vai nu ir fiziska ietekmēšana ar militāru spēku un vardarbības pielietojumu valsts iekšienē, vai arī ir pārliecināšana. Un pēdējo desmitgažu pieredze liecina, mērķus vienkāršāk sasniegt ir ar pārliecināšanu. Turklāt, tas ne tikai attiecas uz militāro jomu, bet arī uz iekšpolitiku un ārpolitiku. Savukārt, otrs vārds “stratēģiskā” attiecas uz to, ka, ņemot vērā informatīvās dimensijas nozīmi, komunikācija nav kaut kāda atbalsta funkcija, bet tā ir stratēģiskās vadības instruments. Komunikāciju plāno stratēģiskā līmenī, līdztekus visām citām darbībām. Un vēl viena nianse, kas jāpatur prātā, šajā piesātinātajā mediju vidē, komunikācija ir ne tikai vārdi, bet arī darbi. Līdz ar to, katra darbība, ko mēs veicam, ir komunikācija," skaidro Nacionālas aizsardzības akadēmijas Drošības un stratēģiskās pētniecības centra vadošā pētniece Ieva Bērziņa skaidro, kā tad valstis var censties sasniegt savus mērķus. Rubrika „Viedokļi”. Grieķijas premjers Grieķijas premjerministrs Aleksis Ciprs 20. augusta vakarā paziņoja par savu atkāpšanos no amata. Valstī notiks ārkārtas parlamenta vēlēšanas. Vai Grieķijā gaidāma parlamentārā krīze? Grieķijas premjera Alekša Cipra paziņojums par atkāpšanos no valdības vadītāja amata nebija negaidīts. Jau vairākas nedēļas tika runāts par to, ka Ciprs varētu atkāpties uzreiz pēc tam, kad tiks apstiprināta trešā finanšu palīdzības programma Grieķijai 86 miljardu eiro apmērā. Galvenokārt tādēļ, ka gan sabiedrībā, gan pašā Sirizas partijā valdīja liela nevienprātība par reformu plānu. To apstiprināja pirms trim nedēļām, taču pašā partijā tas izraisīja dumpi. Lai gan daži bažījas, ka jaunās vēlēšanas tā nestabilo valsti ievedīs jaunā haosā - tā kā nauda jau ir sākusi ieplūst valsts kasē - lielākā daļa ekonomistu, kā arī Briseles amatpersonas uzskata, ka Cipra atkāpšanās un tam sekojošās vēlēšanas ekonomiku neiedragās.

Raidījumā Septiņas dienas Eiropā šoreiz vērtējam FIFA ģeopolitiskās spēles. Spriedīsim, cik reāli, ka Krievijai varētu atņemt tiesības rīkot nākamo Pasaules kausu futbolā 2018. gadā un kā uz pēdējā laika korupcijas skandāliem starptautiskajā organizācijā skatās Eiropas un Latvijas futbola aprindas. Viesi studijā: sporta žurnālists un futbola komentētājs Ilvars Koscinkēvičs un telefonsarunā - Latvijas futbola federācijas ģenerālsekretārs Jānis Mežeckis. Aizmirstiet sportu, tā ir ģeopolitiska cīņa! „Mēs runājam par skaistāko un kaislīgāko sporta veidu pasaulē,” Djego Maradona sacīja nesen ekskluzīvā intervijā raidkompānijai CNN. Bijušais Argentīnas futbola kapteinis, kurš tālajā 1986. gadā izcili, bet arī skandalozi pateicoties savai „Dieva rokai”, vadīja savu komandu Pasaules kausa izcīņas finālspēlēs Meksikā, līdz ar kārtējo FIFA skandālu pēdējos mēnešos bija uzsācis pārsteidzošu uzbrukumu Starptautiskās Futbola federāciju asociācijas prezidentam Zepam Blateram, jo tāpat kā daudzi citi patiesi futbola sabiedrības entuziasti uzskatīja, ka šim vīram FIFA vadības stūre ir jāpamet. Vēl aprīļa sākumā Blaters atklāja, ka vēlētos īstenot jaunus pasākumus, lai mazinātu Eiropas ietekmi futbolā. Tāpat viņš bija izteicies, ka Āfrikas un Ziemeļamerikas, Centrālamerikas un Karību valstu zonas komandām vajadzētu piešķirt vairāk vietas Pasaules kausa izcīņas finālturnīrā. Tikmēr šveicieša oponenti pauda bažas, ka sacensības par vietu dalīšanu nākamā Pasaules kausa izcīņas finālturnīrā ietekmēs balsošanu par FIFA prezidenta amatu. Tā arī notika. Un jau jūnija sākumā mediju ziņās varējām lasīt, ka Blateru ievēlēja asociācijas prezidenta amatā uz piekto termiņu, taču jau pēc dažām dienām viņš atkāpās no amata, kurā bija pavadījis 17 gadus. Gandarījumu par to medijiem pauda gan Anglijas Futbola asociācijas vadītājs Gregs Daiks, arī UEFA prezidents Mišels Platinī, gan vēl viens prezidenta amata kandidāts Luišs Figu. Taču skuma, piemēram, Zambijas Futbola asociācijas vadītājs Kaluša Bvalja. Bet futbola leģenda Maradona savās pārdomās bija ļoti emocionāls un daudzu iespējams noklusētās domas, pateica skaļi. „Zepa Blatera vadībā – FIFA ir kauna traips un radījis sāpīgu apmulsumu mums visiem tiem, kam futbols ir svēts. Es tikai lūdzu Dievu, un savu mammu, kas ir debesīs, kaut man būt iespēja dabūt laukā šo vīrieti no FIFA un dot cilvēkiem to, ko viņi ir pelnījuši. Es gribu pārskatāmību. FIFA darbojas kā mafija. Es gribu, lai beidzot tiek pielikts punkts korumpētiem līgumiem FIFA. Ja tāda ir starptautiskā futbola seja, tad mēs esam ļoti sliktā situācijā,”  tā Maradona. FIFA „seja” patlaban patiesi ir visai greiza un nepatīkama. Analītiķi norāda, ka futbola milzīgā popularitāte - ne kā brīnišķīgam un kaislīgam sporta veidam, bet kā gigantiskai mašīnai, kur sports ir bizness un varas telpa, jau labu laiku nākusi par sliktu organizācijai un pašam sporta veidam. Te loma milzīgiem ienākumiem no spēļu un čempionātu TV translāciju tiesībām un sponsora līgumiem. Protams, tiek akcentēts, ka daudz naudas arī ieguldīts futbola attīstībā nabadzīgākajās valstīs, tostarp Latvijā. Taču nu atklātībā nāk notikumi, kas savulaik iecerēti kā „atmazgājošie”, piemēram, Kaimanu salās pirms septiņiem gadiem piešķīra divus miljonus, lai uzbūvētu divus labus futbola laukumus. Tie vēl nav pabeigti. Kas notiek ar naudu? Raugi, tiek spriests, ka lielākie kukuļi apgrozās TV tiesību un reklāmas tiesību tirgošanā. Kukuļošanas shēmas, kurās figurē summas, kas mērāmas simtos miljonu. Pie lietas ir ķērusies ASV prokuratūra. No tās publiskotās informācijas izriet, ka viens no FIFA pārstāvjiem - Čaks Bleizers ir atzinies, ka šīs organizācijas amatpersonas ir pieņēmušas kukuļus. Nauda FIFA jau labu laiku ir svarīgāka par principiem. Rubrikā „Viedokļi”: Grieķijas finanšu problēmas, vai Cipram un Grieķijas valdībai Eiropas Savienībā un starptautisko aizdevēju vidū vispār ir palicis kāds labvēlis? Labāku atbildi uz jautājumu, kas notiek Grieķijā, iespējams, var iegūt iztēlojoties sevi Grieķijas premjera Alekša Cipra vietā. Viņš vada partiju – „Syriza”, kas apvieno vairākas dažādi noskaņotas un ļoti ekstrēmistiskas kustības, sākot no neomarksistiem un beidzot ar feministiem. Vienīgais, kas tiem ir kopīgs - šīs partijas iestājas pret kapitālismu un pārvaldību. Rodžers Koens no „New York Times” skaidro, ka šiem ministriem nav nekādas pieredzes administratīvajos jautājumos, taču viņu diplomātiskā pieredze ir vēl mazāka. Tādēļ pat ja gribētu, šādi ministri nevarētu saprast tādu gadiem izkoptu institūciju, kādas ir Eiropas centrālā banka un Starptautiskais valūtas fonds politiku un viņiem neatliek nekas cits, kā vien savstarpēji ķīvēties. Problēmu pastiprina arī fakts, ka „Syriza” priekšvēlēšanu laikā solīja visu visiem. Savas valsts iedzīvotājiem Ciprs un viņa partija solīja pielikt punktu taupības politikai, taču „Syriza” nevarēja tikt ievēlēta sakot, ka tas notiks izsludinot maksātnespēju un pametot eiro zonu, jo lielākā daļa grieķu nevēlas atgriezties pie drahmas. Turklāt saskaņā ar mēneša sākumā publicēto sabiedriskās domas aptauju - 74 procenti to nevēlas vēl joprojām. Tādēļ priekšvēlēšanu laikā solīto „Syriza” var izpildīt tikai, ja starptautiskie aizdevēji kapitulētu, ja viņi piekristu pielikt punktu aizdevuma nosacījumiem, bet aizdevumu vienlaikus tomēr turpinātu dot. Taču Eiropā tas nav pieņemami. Grieķija ir atlikusi kārtējo procentu maksājumu Starptautiskajam valūtas fondam un vienojusies, ka atmaksās naudu visu vienā maksājumā, nevis pa daļām, kā bija runāts iepriekš. Jaunais gala termiņš ir 30. jūnijs. Tas nozīmē, ka Ciprs uz abām pusēm rauties vairs ilgi nevarēs. Viņam būs jāpanāk vienošanās ar kreditoriem. Taču arī tad iznākums var nebūt viennozīmīgs – ja vienošanās tiek panākta, tas var sašķelt „Syrizu” un būs jāizsludina jaunas vēlēšanas. Ja vienošanās ar aizdevējiem netiks noslēgta, tas varētu nozīmēt Grieķijas maksātnespējas izsludināšanu un kaunpilnu Cipra padzīšanu no amata.
