When you are done with an older computer, there are lots of great ways to properly upcycle it. Organizations across the country will take donations of older computers that can be cleaned up and provided to children who need them for school but cannot afford one of their own. However, before you transfer an old computer to someone else, it is important to remove all of the data from the drive to protect your identity. No matter how much you trust someone, you can never determine the final resting place of that data. What not to doWindows offers an option to reset your PC while removing all data, programs, and settings. However, this does not do exactly what it sounds like. You can remove all of the data from the publicly accessible list of files, most or all of the data is still easily recoverable. Using a consumer tool like EasyUS, nearly anyone can recover the data "removed" using the built-in Windows recovery toolset. What you should doWindows has another tool built in designed to easily wipe a drive. You can do it if the drive is the primary or if it is a secondary drive on your computer.Secondary Drive PreparationIf the drive is secondary on your PC, things are really easy. All you have to do is open the command prompt on your PC in admin mode. If this is outside of your normal scenario, simply click on the Start Menu (Windows logo), type "cmd" into the search, right-click on the app, and select "Run as administrator." The User Account Control might prompt you for admin access, so select ""Yes" and you're ready to proceed.Primary Drive PreparationIf you are looking to wipe out a primary drive (the one running Windows), the preparation is a little more in-depth. You'll need a Windows installation flash drive, which you can generate from your computer. Open the Start Menu (Windows logo) and search for "recovery," then open "Recovery Drive." This wizard will allow you to make a recovery disk. Or, you can use the Windows installation media tool to create a full installation drive.Once you've got a flash drive all setup, you'll need access to the command prompt. From Windows Recovery, you'll select command prompt. But, from installation media, you'll need to hit Shift-F10. This command prompt will run in admin mode, so you're good to go.Wiping the driveNow that you're prepared and in the command prompt, you're ready to wipe the drive. Type diskpart at the prompt, and after a moment you'll get a new prompt that says DISKPART. At this new prompt, type "list disk" and hit Enter to show all of your disks. Usually your target drive will be disk 0, so you'll likely need to type "select disk 0" and hit Enter. Then type "clean all" and hit Enter. This process can take a while, so feel free to walk away and wait for completion. The most important part of this is that it works for both standard hard drives and SSDs, so nothing to know or worry about here. It's possible that a professional data recovery facility can still get around this process, but it is a great way to protect against most data theft.

Nolla (zero in Finnish) is the 29th episode of HelsinkiEats, and it certainly lives up to the promise by being one of the original zero waste Restaurants in the world. The concept of sustainability has obviously gained momentum around the world for the right reasons, but I do have to say that I have not really paid too much attention to the fact before "growing up". Now, can a Fine Dining restaurant be sustainable and deliver great food? Yes. Absolutely. In this episode, I get to hang out with my old work buddy, Timo Valtonen whom I consider to be the specialist for "let's do a really difficult project that requires managing complexity and people". Together during my years at OP Financial Group, we got to be a part of a great product launch called DriveNow. This restaurant is ranked high up on the list of Top 50 restaurants. In fact, it sits firmly at the position 19 - which is only right, I think. We enjoyed a menu from the Ala Carte, by selecting a starter, main and desert from the list. Together with the menu, we picked beers from Mamu brewing (a microbrewery operating together with Nolla). Both the food and the drinks were amazing. My picks from the menu were Beef Tartar, Roasted Cabbage and Corn-icecream goodness. This restaurant served food that is amazing and guilt-free. I'd recommend this for anyone enjoying a company of a friend or a date, and willing to do his/her part in protecting the environment. You'll hear one of the chefs share his view on the Nolla before the conversation with Timo begins.

Mõned ametikohad, mida Valjo on täitnud: - Indrek Raudne Riigikogu valimiste eduka kampaania juht - baarimees, - sekretär, - spordi analüütik ( 2x kuu parim töötaja) - raamatupidaja Lisaks: - Activator Leader and Chairman - Golf Operation Intern - Student Mentor - Senior Ambassador - Student Sales Manager - FC Levadia Marketing Manager jne.. :D
Fontos megjegyezni! Bingo!
Hey Guys, We’re back and we’re sowas von international. Our Lieblings chocolate bar thing goes around the world. We’re super thrilled like oh my god you guys are amazing. But now Spaß by side: this new episode is everything, I mean it’s like super funny, very very entertaining and kind of wissenwert. We’re talking about 21 Savage, Schwesta Ewa, Jordyn Woods and Pippi Longstocking. In this Zusammenhang we came through Colonialism, the Creol-German language Unserdeutsch as well as die „Entdeckung Amerikas“ In other news we’re talking about the lost of Karl Lagerfeld, new music by Westbam and the one and only F-Raz. In the Industrie News of Paytric the Fusion between DriveNow and Car2Go are Thema genauso wie Uber in Köln and an upcoming WhatsApp Update. In this episode #25 you’ll get the answer of the realest question of life: Sprudel or Silent Water? Think about it you filthy animal!

Read More About Patreon here EVne.ws/patreon Read today’s show notes on https://www.evnewsdaily.com Good morning, good afternoon and good evening wherever you are in the world, welcome to EV News Daily for Friday 8th February 2019. It’s Martyn Lee here and I’ve been through every EV story I can find today, and picked out the ones I think you need to know about. Thank you to MYEV.com for helping make this show, they’ve built the first marketplace specifically for Electric Vehicles. It’s a totally free marketplace that simplifies the buying and selling process, and help you learn about EVs along the way too. MODEL 3 IN EUROPE – GROWING PAINS, FIRST DELIVERY Simon at Teslarati kicks us off with an Elon tweet about the logistics challenges of unloading thousands of TEsla's from a ship in Belgium and getting them to customers: "The arrival of the cargo ship Glovis Captain on the port of Zeebrugge earlier this week heralded new opportunities and challenges for electric car maker Tesla. The massive vessel is estimated to be carrying around 3,000 Model 3, which are expected to start an electric disruption in Europe’s passenger car market. At the same time, the arrival of the highly-anticipated sedan also means that deliveries to reservation holders in the region are about to begin. Soon, social media posts from the Tesla community revealed that the first Model 3 deliveries in Europe were already underway. That said, it did not take long before Tesla became unable to deliver as many vehicles as they estimated." On Wednesday, Elon Musk took to Twitter to apologize for the delivery delay in Europe." elonmusk: "Sorry, many unexpected challenges with cars coming through Zeebrugge first time. Cars will start moving out in volume tomorrow." Look, it's a three year wait, another day is fine. People just like to have a moan online because they got bumped by a day. Also this was a self-made problem. Tesla brought forward the delivery dates, some by quite a way, and then had to delay by a day causing disappointment. In on a way Tesla could and we love them for it. Meanwhile Kyle Field at CleanTechnica was one of the first to pick up on a Tweet from the first owner to get his car: "The first European customer has taken delivery of his Tesla Model 3 today after what felt like an endless stream of delays since it was first announced nearly 3 years ago. Fred is from Oldenzaal in the Netherlands and has been a long-time supporter of Tesla, even going so far as to travel to the Tesla “mothership” at its automotive factory in Fremont, California, to lobby for the Netherlands. Opening up its higher end configurations of the Tesla Model 3 to European and Chinese customers allows the company to continue building higher margin vehicles as it puts the finishing touches on the Standard Range vehicle." https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-model-3-logistical-challenges-europe-deliveries/ https://cleantechnica.com/2019/02/07/the-first-european-customer-takes-delivery-of-a-tesla-model-3/ GM ELECTRIC VEHICLES COULD BE PROFITABLE EARLY NEXT DECADE, SAYS CEO "Incentives, credits, and compliance schemes can only get the electric vehicle market so far. The real test of its success will be when large, established automakers can get to a point when they can call them profitable." says Green Car Reprts: "On Wednesday, on a call with analysts to discuss the company’s fourth-quarter 2018 financial results, GM CEO Mary Barra said that’s a distinction could come in the early 2020s.Barra reiterated yesterday that GM believes in an all-EV future, and noted that the company is being repositioned “from one that was trying to be all things to all people in all markets to a very strategic, agile, and profitable company.”" https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1121379_gm-electric-vehicles-could-be-profitable-early-next-decade-says-ceo ARCIMOTO STARTS TAKING ORDERS FOR ITS THREE-WHEELED EV "Arcimoto has started taking orders for its three-wheeled electric vehicle. The Fun Utility Vehicle (FUV) Evergreen Edition will set you back $19,900 before tax credits and rebates, which is a far cry from Arcimoto's target of $11,900, though it aims to push down the price over time." reports Engadget: "Arcimoto plans to deliver 100 Evergreens by the end of June in Oregon, California and Washington. It will later expand delivery to other states, and hopes to fulfill all US pre-orders (more than 3,000 of them) by the end of June next year. It's requiring a non-refundable $5,000 deposit from anyone who orders one now. The Evergreen offers a 75 mph top speed and a range of 100 miles of city driving on a single charge" https://www.engadget.com/2019/02/07/arcimoto-fuv-evergreen-edition-orders-open/ KIA NIRO EV ELECTRIC CROSSOVER SELLS OUT IN UK: NEW DELIVERIES DELAYED "The number of e-Niro allocated to particular markets is limited while deliveries could be significantly delayed, according to the latest news In the UK, for example, the initial batch of 900 e-Niro was ordered within several weeks and customers probably will need to wait until the end of the year to order some from another batch (probably for delivery in 2020)." accrding to Mark Kane for InsideEVs. AutoExpress said: "“Deliveries for the new Kia e-Niro were supposed to commence in April. However, as a result of the e-Niro’s popularity and the production bottleneck, buyers who managed to snag one of the initial 900-model run may have to wait until the end of 2019 before taking delivery. John Hargreaves, Kia’s head of fleet and remarketing, said the battery pack supply chain issue is likely to remain “a restraining factor for at least another 12 to 18 months.”" https://insideevs.com/kia-niro-ev-e-niro-sold-out-uk/ KIA STUDY REVEALS FLEETS READY FOR EV TIPPING POINT Meanwhile, and you really couldn't make this up: "Demand for electric vehicles is reaching a tipping point for fleets, according to a new study by Kia. Furthermore, it seems as if public perspectives are also having a huge impact on fleet decisions, with 71 per cent of respondents saying that their organisation is nervous about purchasing a petrol or diesel car that isn’t EV/PHEV up five percent from the previous report." https://fleetworld.co.uk/kia-study-reveals-fleets-ready-for-ev-tipping-point/ DRIVENOW TO BOOST ELECTRIC CAR SHARING FLEET "Car sharing firm Drivenow has announced that 130 new BMW i3 electric vehicles (EVs) will be joining its London fleet. The company, owned by BMW Group, says the new i3s will join 50 older examples of the model until the latter are phased out in April." according to Business Car: "Drivenow says its aim is to have a fleet that is 80% electric by 2025. The new i3s - which offer a 160-mile driving range between charges - will take the company's total current fleet to 720 vehicles, operating in nine London boroughs: Barnet, Brent, Hackney, Haringey, Islington, Southwark, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest and Westminster. " https://www.businesscar.co.uk/news/2019/wc-feb-4/drivenow-to-boost-electric-car-sharing-fleet BMW 530E TOURING WAGON PLUG-IN HYBRID SPIED First up from InsideEVs a PHEV story: "BMW is working on a plug-in hybrid version of the 5-series Touring – the prototype was spotted during winter test runs. The lack of camouflage suggests that the market launch is close. It’s a smart move for the German manufacturer, as BMW 530e iPerformance is already the best-selling plug-in hybrid model for the brand." https://insideevs.com/bmw-530e-touring-phev-spied/ BMW I7 ELECTRIC WITH RANGE OF NEARLY 400 MILES IN THE WORKS And also: "One of the new all-electric models in BMW‘s pipeline is the BMW i7. That’s according to BMWBlog’s sources in Munich. There is no official announcement about the i7. However, at least the trademarks from i1 up to i9 were registered in 2012 and then renewed in 2018. It’s expected that the i7 could be an all-electric version of the next generation 7-Series. Furthermore, it’s believed that it will get an electric range of up to 600 km (373 miles)." COMMUNITY And thanks to MYEV.com they’ve set us another Question Of The Week. Keep your comments coming in on email and YouTube… "Which incentives, beside those already available where you live, do want to see implemented by auto makers or dealers to help promote EVs?" I want to say a heartfelt thank you to the 178 patrons of this podcast whose generosity means I get to keep making this show, which aims to entertain and inform thousands of listeners every day about a brighter future. Well good morning, good afternoon and good evening, wherever you are in the world, hello and welcome to the Thursday 5th July edition of EV News Daily. It’s Martyn Lee here with the news you need to know about electric cars and the move towards sustainable transport. INSIDE EVS SCORECARD Steven Loveday starts to round up the North American sales: "If the trends persist, we should continue to see the final month of each quarter claiming the new lead spot on our all-time list, and June will likely prove this true." Topline number is at least 26,500. For Q2, GM sold 3,483 Bolt EVs and 4,336 Volts. Nissan delivered 1,367 LEAFs this June, down about 9% from last June and also down from May’s 1,576. Big questions remain like Tesla's 200,000 delivery. And how are the Model S and X selling? https://insideevs.com/june-2018-plug-in-electric-vehicle-sales-report-card/ AUDI E-TRON QUATTRO HIGH-TECH CABIN UNVEILED I've going to try and get through a piece talking about Audi's new e-tron Quattro without comparing it to the Jaguar I-PACE. So bear with me. Audi's new AWD EV is on the horizon, powered by 3 motors, a 95kWh battery pack delivering 250 silent miles on WLTP test cycle, with 150kW CCS fast charging to make use of the next gen chargers, the specs are certainly competitive and we know Audi make a fine car. 0-60 is under 6 seconds and top speed 124mph. But how much will it hurt with a launch date no sooner that a rather vague 'Spring 2019' given the I-PACE is out - DAMMIT. Sorry I won't do that again. As for price, it will start at $89,000, a $20,000 premium over the I-PACE - DAMMIT New interior photos have just been released and it's a stunning place to spend any time. There are two large centre touchscreens sitting just below the air vents. Of course the instrument panel behind the wheel is all digital too. Some journalists have been in the passenger seat, yesterday I was tweeting about CAR's review, and Auto Express have had a ridealong too: "On the move first thing you notice is the serenity on offer from its electric drivetrain; it’s much the same as we’ve experienced from its rivals. Although this early passenger ride was ostensibly to demonstrate the e-tron’s fine refinement and show us the new interior, we did manage to get the lowdown on the e-tron’s specification. Unlike its Mercedes-Benz EQ C rival, the e-tron will be built at a dedicated production line in Belgium, it riding on a unique, scalable platform, under which its 95kWh battery resides. Audi’s people admit that the platform is around 40 per cent stiffer than the Q5’s to allow for the e-tron’s weight, as well as help with its refinement and dynamic goals." The showstoppers are the side mirrors, of which there aren't any. Just two small aerodynamic stalks with HD cameras on them, called e-tron Virtual Side Mirrors. There are 7 inch OLED screens in the doors at the junction of the A-pillar so you just have to look slightly down from where you do for mirrors. Slashgear say: "However, because it’s all digital, Audi can switch up what’s shown depending on the situation. When you’re parking, for instance, the e-tron can show you a different view compared to when you’re on the highway. The upshot isn’t just aesthetic, though the electric SUV does look good without traditional mirrors. Audi claims the virtual mirrors help cut drag by between 2 and 7 percent, leaving the EV more aerodynamic as a result. That should pay dividends when it comes to range." "Scrubbing side mirrors can also pay visual dividends, too, and not just because the resulting body sides look sleeker. For its part, the e-Tron will still have a pair of small stanchions projecting out of its body sides to mount the rear-facing cameras, though they still should look much cleaner to the wind." reports CNET Sadly US regulations mandate that all cars have glass mirrors so only Europe and Asia get the sci fi cameras. However to make up for it, e-tron Quattro buyers can use Electrify America's high speed charging network with 290 locations installed by the end of next year. "Audi says that not only is the electric car’s drivetrain quieter than the typical gas or diesel engine, but it has packed the e-tron with even more noise insulation just to really deliver that cathedral-hush." say Slashgear on the subject of noise. Or lack of it. As for regen, as everyone loves a bit of regen, you can choose to sail for when on the highway, or ratchet up for town driving. https://www.slashgear.com/2020-audi-e-tron-electric-suv-cabin-revealed-5-things-to-know-04536502/ http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/audi/e-tron/103979/new-audi-e-tron-2018-ride-review DELIGHT FOR JAGUAR I-PACE AT 2018 AUTO EXPRESS NEW CAR AWARDS And a quick note on the I-PACE. There are lots of car awards events run by magazines, and they all have various categories. For a while EV's have been picking up wins in certain sub categories, but that changed last night. "The all-electric Jaguar I-PACE has been named Car of the Year at the 2018 Auto Express New Car Awards with Editor-in-Chief Steve Fowler describing it as: “the most exciting new car we’ve tested over the past 12 months.” according to Automotiveworld.com. Stat check on the I-PACE...90kWh lithium-ion battery, dual motors for AWD, 0-60 in 4.5 seconds and 298 miles on the WLTP test cycle. Steve Fowler, Editor-in-chief of Auto Express said: “The I-PACE proves that brilliant electric cars are right here, right now – it’s the most exciting new car we’ve tested over the past 12 months. We love the way it looks, the space and quality of the interior and most of all that it drives exactly how a modern-day Jaguar should – it’s fantastic fun. On top of all that, it’ll cover city-to-city distances on a single charge in complete comfort – it’s a massively impressive car that bodes well for our electric future.” https://www.automotiveworld.com/news-releases/double-delight-electric-jaguar-pace-2018-auto-express-new-car-awards/ FORMER TOP GEAR PRESENTER TESTS NEW TESLA P100DL FOR ELECTRIC GT The Electric GT championship launches this year, not officially endorsed by Tesla by racing Model S P100DL's with a load of the interior weight stripped out and lots of carbon fibre-y bits added, which loses 1100 pounds overall. On the LoveCars YouTube channel the TV host and racing driver Tiff Needell take one for a spin in Barcelona at the cars launch. There is a race body kit, the door handles are permanently out which indicates the motors are all gone from there, and the Air Suspension is likely to be replaced with a lightweight and more customisable racing setup. Plus with improvements to the brakes and cooling a lot is different to a stock Model S. Simon at Teslarati says " the vehicle’s battery still showed some heating issues, as revealed by the Model S’ systems throttling performance after 1.5 hot laps around the Barcelona track" The series starts racing in Jerez on 4th November and I'll be there at the Silverstone event in 2019. TWO CAR SHARING SCHEMES ANNOUNCED You wait ages for a car sharing scheme and then two come along at once. And no the irony of that joke isn't lost on me, because maybe we should be using buses more and not adding more cars to inner cities. First up a saw Fred at Electrek writing about Renault, and 2,000 new EV's for Paris in ride-sharing services. "Starting in September, Renault will start to make all-electric ZOE, Twizy, Kangoo Z.E, Master Z.E vehicles available for a series of services." The previous car sharing service was Autolib and recently stopped after a dispute with local authorities. And then I see Reuters reporting: "Volkswagen plans to start offering car sharing services using fully electric vehicles in German cities next year as part of efforts to serve consumers who don’t want to buy their own vehicles. Its offering will compete in its home market with DriveNow and Car2Go, the soon-to-be-merged carsharing services of BMW and Daimler. New CEO Herbert Diess, who took office in April, said it was vital for VW “to pick up speed and make an unmistakable mark” in areas including new mobility services which VW wants to contribute a significant share to future group business." https://electrek.co/2018/07/04/renault-fleet-electric-vehicles-ride-hailing-car-sharing-paris/ https://www.reuters.com/article/us-volkswagen-mobility/vw-to-launch-carsharing-with-electric-vehicles-in-2019-idUSKBN1JU1QK CHINA TO PRODUCE 2 MILLION CARS PER YEAR FROM 2020 And finally a bit of background on China. Because recently I’ve been super excited about Tesla hitting their goals but just a reminder the really big numbers are found when you head East - to China. Plug In sales, or New Energy Vehicles (NEV) as they are branded in China, are up 149% in Q1 this year. In May 94,000 new EV's were registered. The names you probably won't have heard of but which are a big deal... BAIC EC-Series - small family EV, modern styling, sold 12,624 last month, and could well beat the Tesla Model 3 to be the best selling EV in the world this year BYD Qin PHEV - has been selling between 3-4,000 models a month for 9 months. SAIC Baojun E100 - made by Shanghai Auto and GM. It's a tiny 2-seater like the Smart cars, has 39hp and costs just over $14,000. Zhidou D2 EC - looks like a small city car from the 90s, but super cheap, looks like a slightly larger Renault Twizy with a 18kWh battery. BAIC EX-Series - a compact crossover and the first of these 5 you might want on your driveway. Good styling, 48kWh battery, 200miles range and $28,500 price tag. Half of ALL plug in cars in the world last month, June 2018, were made by Chinese OEM's. They are on target to make and sell one million EV's this year. One. Million! And now a new action plan was released yesterday to move forwards. "China will cut coal consumption, boost electric vehicle sales and shut more outdated steel and coke capacity in the coming three years, the State Council said in a long-awaited 2018 to 2020 pollution action plan" reports Reuters: "China is in the fifth year of a “war on pollution” aimed at reversing the damage done to the country’s environment since the economy was opened up in 1978, with President Xi Jinping promising to use the full might of the Chinese Communist Party to meet the country’s goals. The new 2018 to 2020 action plan, released on the country’s official government website, will expand the fight to 82 cities across China. The cabinet also set an annual production and sales target for new energy vehicles at around 2 million vehicles a year by 2020 in order to reduce road emissions." https://in.reuters.com/article/china-pollution/china-to-cut-coal-use-curb-steel-in-2018-2020-pollution-plan-idINKBN1JU0BL COMMUNITY Emails You can listen to all previous 169 episodes of this podcast on iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, YouTube, TuneIn, Stitcher, and the blog https://www.evnewsdaily.com/ – remember to subscribe, which means you don’t have to think about downloading the show each day, plus you get it first and free and automatically. Wednesday 23rd May 2018. First a word for any EV groups meeting up soon. Like the group organised by Mark Goudie (Pron: Gordy) who organises regular EV meet ups with other EV owners here in the UK, so hello to the Northwest England Owners group on Facebook, and all the information you share and conversation you have. Any other groups listening? Let me know I’ll give you a shout. Mark also opened up the Tezla / Tessla debate – I think I just say what comes naturally BUT apologies to those who insist of Tessla, if I ever say Tezla I’m sorry. From now on I promise to try harder at Tessla. STUDY PREDICTS INCREASE IN ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLES Starting with a study by Statista, reported by RideApart.com and then ono InsideEVs, which is like a russian nested doll of credit I'm giving there, they are forecasting global e-bike sales will reach approximately 40 million units sometime in 2023. That's a huge number, and it starts to make more sense when you realise 35million of the 40million will be in China. But even so, 5 million electric bikes is a big number for North America and Europe. They say: "Unsurprisingly, one of the strongest forces in the entire e-market equation is urban (and suburban) areas. An increasing amount of electric two-wheeler sales are coming from scoot-sharing services like BMW’s DriveNow program, or the San Francisco-based Scoot Network e-scooter sharing offering. Both of these services, in addition to buying large fleets of bikes, also serve as a sort of motorized, two-wheeled test-drive, introducing the non-riding public to life on two-wheels. The number of EV startups risen sharply for the last couple years as well, and signs point to that trend only intensifying." https://insideevs.com/study-predicts-huge-increase-in-electric-motorcycle-sales-by-2023/?utm_source=bambu&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=industry RIVIAN TO DEBUT 800-HP ELECTRIC TRUCK AT LA AUTOSHOW Detriot-based electric car startup Rivian Automotive is getting ready to take the stage later this year at the Los Angeles Autoshow and debut the company’s first electric truck. “according to Christian Prenzler for Teslarati. "Rivian is also creating an 800-HP version of the vehicle capable of more than 450 miles of range, making it an SUV having the longest all-electric range on the market" These will serve the popular American consumer truck segment which we don't have in the UK or Europe to such a large extent. It's easy to quote numbers on something not yet made, but they say 0-60 in 2.8 seconds. “It’s stiffer than a supercar,” said CEO RJ Scaringe in speaking with Engadget. “There are only a few cars in the world that are going to be as fast as ours, and we have a large five-passenger truck.” The price they say is in the $50K to $90K region which seems way too cheap for all that performance. Rivian have their factory, the old Mitsubishi plant in Illinois, which they bought in January 2017. https://www.teslarati.com/rivian-800-hp-electric-truck-la-autoshow/ ADVANCED E-BUSES HIT ROADS QUICKER THAN EVS The latest long-term forecast from Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) shows sales of electric vehicles (EVs), increasing from a record 1.1 million worldwide last year to 11 million in 2025, and then surging 30million by 2030 which cost-parity with combustion is achieved. China will lead this transition, with sales there accounting for almost 50% of the global EV market in 2025 and 39% in 2030. The advance of e-buses will be even more rapid than for electric cars, according to BNEF’s analysis. It shows electric buses in almost all charging configurations having a lower total cost of ownership than conventional municipal buses by 2019. There are already over 300,000 e-buses on the road in China. https://www.windpowerengineering.com/business-news-projects/advanced-e-buses-to-hit-the-roads-quicker-than-electric-vehicles/ CHINA CUTS CAR TARIFFS "China will cut tariffs on most imported cars to 15 percent from July 1, the finance ministry said on Tuesday following a thaw in trade tensions with the United States" says the UK's Daily Mail. Whilst Bloomberg say: "For Tesla, a tariff cut will provide a boon until they set up local production. Tesla has been working with Shanghai’s government since last year to explore assembling cars in China. China saying that it will allow foreign new-energy vehicle makers to fully own auto factories as early as this year removed a primary hurdle for Elon Musk." https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-05-22/china-is-said-to-cut-car-import-duty-in-boost-for-lexus-bmw http://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/afp/article-5756777/China-says-cut-auto-import-tariffs-July-1.html MODEL 3 PERFORMANCE COULD END UP BEING EVEN QUICKER Staying with Tesla and it seems Ryan McCaffrey from Ride The Lightning Tesla Podcast has a direct line to Elon - which some superfans of both would probably compare to that old saying about The Pope having a direct line to God. I'm joking. Mostly. However Ryan said on Twitter: It’s probably not *this* simple with manufacturing, but wouldn’t the robot just reach into the red caliper pile on the assembly line for the cars tagged as Performance? In other words, it’s just a different part (in practice if not technically so), not a different process." So he's talking there about the red brake parts seen on other performance models. To which Elon replied: "not promising anything, but we *might* be able to increase Model 3 Performance power output a little" However I think many buyers will be happy to stump up $54,000 for a very quick dual motor Model 3, rather than $78,000 (without Autopilot) for a stupidly quick Model 3. There will be those who always want the fastest, but basic dual motor would do me more than fine. https://electrek.co/2018/05/22/tesla-model-3-performance-version-higher-power-output-teases-elon-musk/ DS3 DESTINED FOR PARIS MOTOR SHOW Maybe DS are feeling like they're being left out of the EV party because Rachel Burgess in Autocar point out: "DS will reveal the electric DS3 Crossback compact SUV, a rival to the Audi Q2, at the Paris motor show this October ahead of its launch in 2019. The EV variant of the new car, which will run alongside more traditional powertrains, will be available from launch and will offer a range of more than 124 miles on each charge. The urban-focused car is likely to have a 50kWh battery pack. DS product boss Eric Apode told Autocar that "DS has to lead [the electric] innovation" within the PSA Group. "This is also because of pricing. It [electric technology] has to start with premium brands because the prices will be high," he said. "Then, as the pricing decreases, it can go to the other brands." https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/electric-ds-3-crossback-be-revealed-2018-paris-motor-show MODEL 3 BRAKE ISSUES WILL BE SORTED SOON Finally on Tesla, Elon Musk has now admitted there was a braking issue with the Model 3. The braking issue was first pointed out by Consumer Reports. He said it can be fixed with a firmware update that the electric car maker will be rolling out in a few days. He said in a reply to Electrek: "Looks like this can be fixed with a firmware update. Will be rolling that out in a few days. With further refinement, we can improve braking distance beyond initial specs. Tesla won’t stop until Model 3 has better braking than any remotely comparable car." https://www.cnbc.com/2018/05/22/teslas-musk-admits-model-3-braking-issue-promises-fix.html BP INVESTS $20 MILLION IN FLASH BATTERIES CNBC report on more oil money flowing into electrons: "BP said its venture capital arm was investing in Tel Aviv-based StoreDot as it looks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in its operations. StoreDot develops so-called "flash batteries," lithium-ion batteries that it says can charge electric vehicles in a matter of minutes." "Ultra-fast charging is at the heart of BP's electrification strategy," Tufan Erginbilgic, chief executive of BP's downstream business, said in a statement on Tuesday. "StoreDot's technology shows real potential for car batteries that can charge in the same time it takes to fill a gas tank." The range on their batteries is said to be 300miles but the product won't even start to be commercialised until 2019. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/05/22/bp-invests-in-israeli-battery-startup-storedot.html NISSAN: VEHICLE TO GRID SERVICES WILL NOT DRAIN EV BATTERIES Finally Nissan Europe chief Gareth Dunsmore has responded to suggestions that V2G, which is being led in many ways by Nissan because of the CHAdeMO connector, and he says: "“It is not draining the battery, it is using the battery to balance the grid. It uses the battery, but it also puts energy into the battery; it is going up and down rather than draining. Draining the battery is not where the value is for the energy company or the customer.” Accoring to The Energyst: Mike Kerslake, UK technical manager for Chinese battery firm BYD, said V2G services for those customers may require a change of service model in terms of battery ownership and management. “Perhaps the vehicle owner doesn’t own the battery, but it is [instead] leased from an energy resources company, who also gets value from the vehicle to grid capability,” said Kerslake. “So there is quite a potential change in the way it works.” https://theenergyst.com/nissan-vehicle-grid-services-will-not-drain-ev-batteries/ I’d love to spread the word about electric cars so, if you can, share this somebody who might be interested. Also, could be an incentive system, reward mechanism so people can get CryptoKicks coins every time they purchase a Nike shoe. TD Ameritrade Reportedly Testing Bitcoin (BTC) and Litecoin (LTC) Trading - BeInCrypto Bandit makes off with Million of ETH by brute force - BRENT Has gotten away with nearly 45,000 ETH There was a firm that was trying to find a way to guess wallets They started with wallets that began with the number 1. They then tried to narrow down the wallets with 2, 3, 4, and so on When they actually managed to guess some, they were a little shocked to realize that the wallets had already been emptied. They found 732 wallet keys with this method They were all emptied by the same attacker Their conclusion is that some ETH private keys can be guessed by using cloud computing tech - and this was likely from a wallet provider taking shortcuts in the code and cutting off a lot of the complex parts. Or that the wallet's code was malicious to begin with. They were also able to replicate the experiment on Bitcoin, but without finding as many private keys. They still found 100 - and every wallet was also already emptied. Binance DEX (BRENT) Let's talk a little about the Binance "Decentralized Exchange" Firstly this all comes with a migration to the Binance main-net CZ has been very clear ETH is superior to their coin. Binance coin has been one of the better investments of the year, we agree with a lot of what CZ does, and Binance is in my opinion a trusted exchange. Here's the thing about the Binance "DEX" It's not really a DEX at all. They are not holding your crypto, but they also do have full control of the trading systems. In the terms and services it does appear that they can freeze your assets. They might not be able to move them because they don't have custody, but they can stop you from doing so. It's centralized because it's on a Delegated POS system, and it appears Binance has all the nodes. Even though it's non-custodial, they DO actually default act as custody of anything that isn't native to the BNB chain. They do have some interesting governance behind the fees. The community votes on the listing of a coin that has applied to list. The Validators in theory vote like the community has asked. They have 4 vote options, yes, no, no veto, and abstain. If majority is yes it gets listed. Majority is no then it doesn't. If one third of votes are veto, it gets killed. They have to deposit 1000BNB which they get back if they get a yes vote. They have to pay 2000BNB to become listed, unclear but I think it goes to the network. They do intend to implement atomic swaps on the main-net, but they also will be giving their version of BTC tether. Terms screenshot Getting your coins listed Shots Fired!
