(Airdate: 3.27.25) Nikki Glaser spills about being on Raya with Gwyneth Paltrow on her Goop Podcast. Nik said she say Ben Affleck on there a bit, but it seemed that Andrew Garfield was matching hard on her, even though he never reached out, nor did Ben. The son of the Producer of Disney's flop Snow White totally lays blame on Rene Zegler for the failure of the film due to her personal politics shared during the press and publicity. Another Yellowstone series is reportedly in the works centered on Luke Grimes' character Kayce Dutton. The pitch is to CBS, so language and nudity will be curtailed. I'm thrilled to share some exciting updates. First and foremost, I've just wrapped up the revisions on my forthcoming film, "The Arbiters." After a month of intense work on the script's outline, I now have a detailed 59-page blueprint to guide me through the next stage of scriptwriting. But there's more! I had the privilege of being a guest on a friend's podcast, where we had a thought-provoking discussion about creativity. You can check out the episode here: https://youtu.be/H9HuR4srxBw?si=i_WETGSja1vmZe8b. It was a fantastic opportunity to reflect on my creative process and share insights with a wider audience. This experience got me thinking about the importance of creativity, even during challenging times. Whether our art reflects the world's ups and downs, it plays a crucial role in processing our experiences and sharing hope. There's always a lot to explore and express through creativity. A significant part of my week was dedicated to Goop, which was celebrating its 15th anniversary. I had the honor of asking a question during Gwyneth Paltrow's big AMA episode. Being part of the Goop Podcast team is a privilege, and I'm grateful. I truly enjoy the people I get to work with on the show, which is exactly why I attended Cleo Wade's Remember Love Book Tour in Los Angeles. She's a co-host on the Goop Podcast and I wasn't required to go, but I wanted to support. It was a magical night filled with tears and laughter, strengthening the beautiful community Cleo has built. My website revamp is an ongoing project, focusing on making necessary adjustments to ensure it functions perfectly and looks its best, with high-quality photos and more. For my Patreon supporters, we had a fantastic coaching session this weekend. If you haven't joined yet, you're welcome to become a Patreon member at patreon.com/PhilSvitek for exclusive content and direct interaction with me. Speaking of coaching, I recently had the opportunity to help someone improve their podcast's audio quality. It was a delicate situation, as the recording team were professionals and my advice was unsolicited. Still, I crafted a helpful and disarming message, and the feedback was positive. Sometimes, a small suggestion can make a big difference if handled right. I also touched upon The Rock's recent apology for the Maui incident and discussed the importance of amplifying existing organizations rather than starting new ones. The financial impact of being financially strapped was another topic I delved into, emphasizing how every little bit helps, especially for those with less. I shared a fascinating statistic about indigenous people and their role in protecting biodiversity. Plus, an update on Diamond, my foster dog, and my thoughts on organizing an adoption fair for her. BTW, here's info on her if you'd like to see her and share: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMZS0hYAb7Y. Then, I shared my concerns about a dear friend experiencing headaches and explored the connection between mental and physical health. Could therapy hold the key to resolving these issues? And finally, the idea of intermissions in long movies got me thinking. Imagine having a break to refresh, use the restroom, and grab some snacks during epic films. A win-win, right? Join me on this diverse and thought-provoking journey, and don't forget to like, subscribe, and share your thoughts in the comments below! Why do women feel like we have to do it all?  I've always prided myself in keeping all the balls in the air at once. And I've tried to perfect doing it all– often without even flinching. But because of this, I'm burnt out. And the mental exhaustion is real.  So why is it that we feel like we have to wear so many hats to be recognized as successful women– whether it's in a career, family life, marriage, or all of the above?  I know I'm not the only one working overtime, all the time.  I carry the bulk of the household and caregiving responsibilities, on top of all my career work– every single day.  And the stats across the board back it up– women have higher rates of depression, anxiety, and autoimmunity. Our bodies as women take a beating, but we've been convinced to put others' needs before our own.  To change this mindset and help us recognize we don't need to be perfect at everything, I've invited expert Elise Loehnen on the show. She's here to explain how these impulses– often described as unselfish and distinctly feminine instincts– have actually been ingrained in us by society for a long time.  Elise helps us understand our innate need to be perfect as an aspect of being a woman and allows us to recognize how to adapt when we feel this need to do it all.  Elise recently wrote a book called On Our Best Behavior: The Seven Deadly Sins and the Price Women Pay to be Good. And if you've ever struggled with self-sacrifice, or feeling the need to be good, this book is for you.  Today's podcast is one you won't want to miss because Elise does a deep dive into the history of women's behavior– all the way up to the modern day, and discusses how society has created ideas in our brains of who and what we have to be. It's time to break this mold and live the way we as women deserve to. To feel empowered, patient with ourselves, and perfectly imperfect. So listen now to gain thoughtful insight and become the best version of yourself! Elise Loehnen  Elise Loehnen is a writer, editor, and host of the podcast Pulling the Thread, where she interviews cultural luminaries about the big questions of today. She's the author of the New York Times bestselling book– On Our Best Behavior: The Seven Deadly Sins and the Price Women Pay to be Good.  Elise has also co-written 12 books, including five New York Times Best Sellers. Previously, she was the chief content officer of Goop. While there, Elise co-hosted The Goop Podcast and The Goop Lab on Netflix, and she's interviewed hundreds of thought leaders, doctors, and experts.  IN THIS EPISODE Elise's story and her exploration of women's need to be good  The impact perfectionistic tendencies have on women  Discussing gender constructs throughout history  How the “Good Girl” mentality permeated into society  The connection between the seven deadly sins and our behavior  Discussing envy and what it can tell us  Getting clear on our own wants and needs  How self-denial can be detrimental RESOURCES MENTIONED Order On Our Best Behavior by Elise Loehnen Now! In Russian, the word for procrastination is: “provolochka“ In Arabic, they say, “taswif an” In Spanish, it's aplazar.  In other words, procrastination transcends culture, race, gender, and even transcends time. Seneca was talking about procrastination during the ROMAN Imperial Period, and famously said:  “The fool, with all his other faults, has this also, he is always getting ready to live.” The tendency to procrastinate seems to be baked into our behavioral DNA as homo sapiens. Which seems like some kind of cosmic joke, given how SHORT our lives truly are.  This episode is dedicated to sharing the ONE technique that has changed the procrastination game for me. I've never shared it publicly before because it is so laughably simple, but what the heck, I might as well come clean!  This episode is packed with practical strategies for getting around your very human case of procrastination, and I mention a few resources, which I've listed here for your viewing/reading/listening pleasure: https://mailchi.mp/bronwyncommunications/procrastination  My Focus + Shine Worksheet Dopamine Nation: Finding Balance in the Age of Indulgence by Dr. Anna Lembke Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World by Cal Newport “To Stop Procrastinating Start by Understanding the Emotions Involved”, by Shirley S. Who would have thought it, the Hollywood A-lister and founder of the luxury lifestyle brand 'Goop', Gwyneth Paltrow also finds time to host a podcast. Making her a prime target for Matt and Chris, who simply cannot stomach the competition! Fans have the option to join Paltrow in questing for the eternal and well-guarded secrets of health and wellness. But unless you're only after some lip-balm, this total holistic and integrative lifestyle is not going to come cheap! As we learn from her special guest Kristine Gedroic you are also going to need some precision medical diagnostics to balance with your biome, cleanse your cell membranes, and undo the horrors of 5G. And that isn't even addressing the panoply of parasites that we are all (apparently) infested with. So this is why Matt and Chris haven't been actualising their spiritual selves recently. In some ways, this health and wellness space is familiar stomping ground for Matt and Chris (and maybe for many listeners too). However, the duo reckon that Paltrow, Goop, and the whole industry is very 'Now' and might even hint at some exciting new directions elite culture is taking. Check it out! Meredith and Kaytee are here, with a case of the giggles and a case of “why can’t I talk correctly?” We’re having more fun than you can shake a stick at. You’ll hear a “bookish moment of the week” from each host: an overflow of TBR riches, and a lovely book-screen adaptation. Next, we discuss our current reads for the week. Non-fiction and thrillers is the name of the game, and we’ve got both of them in SPADES. We’ve got an update for you on our Slow But Steady reads as well, what progress looks like for us. We are loving having you chime in for what you’re reading for this challenge. It’s been great to see what actually piques your interest here, readers. For our deep dive, we are discussing the books we are “embarrassed” that we haven’t read yet. But mostly we’re having a conversation about why people let embarrassment even effect their reading lives. And it’s a good one! Finally, this week, we finish the episode by Pressing Books Into Your Hands. We’re both pressing books by male authors this week and they are a couple decades old, at least. A Phil Svitek Podcast - A Series From Your 360 Creative Coach

Do you know what causality is? It's the principle where everything that happens is because of a certain cause. Sometimes it's referred to as the cause and effect theory. As a society, many of us have adopted this line of thinking because it seems logical. It gives us a sense of understanding. But what if cause and effect was bullshit? What then? What you have to understand first and foremost is that many of us, including me, have limited our thinking severely. Why? Well, because we've bought into the stories of our ancestors, our parents and society. Here's a lie you've probably bought into: past experience can predict the future. No it can't. Another lie is we're not perfect. Who says we're not? I'm perfect just the way I am and so are you. (We can choose to better ourselves, but that doesn't mean we're imperfect. That's just part of the human journey.) Causality is also false. We actually have the ability to alter our realities just by thinking about it. How the hell does that happen? Through practiced techniques, we can essentially rewire ourselves and therefore affect our surroundings. Sounds woo-woo doesn't it? But it doesn't have to be if you open yourself up to it. The wonderful thing about this lesson is you'll discover that you can become the “storyteller”, as Don Miguel Ruiz puts it, of your own life. I (Phil Svitek) use the teachings of quantum physics and specifically Joe Dispenza to show you all this. After you're done with the lesson, please write down 10 things you're grateful for in your life. Trust me, it'll make sense after you've gone through the lesson. Thank you for tuning in! “I’m not good enough.” “I don’t deserve this.” “I am unlovable.” Recognize any of those messages? As someone who repeated those things to myself regularly, I’ve been there. I know the importance of finding where that self talk stems from in order to nip it in the bud. In this podcast, we look at how we can untangle the spaghetti junction of negative self-talk that exists in our heads. I’ll share the process I use to trace these thoughts right back to the core beliefs we hold about ourselves, and give my top tips on how to then begin to change the message you’re telling yourself. I've been working hard on my negative self-talk, and share my approach and experiences with you here. I've even produced a free workbook download to accompany it! It is not easy to get out of the habit of negative self-talk, but learning some tools and techniques can really help.   0-2: Introductions 2-4 : Defining self-talk, both positive and negative. How I use both types. 4-6: How our self-talk forms from negative / false core beliefs.  6-14:Why negative self-talk is dangerous! 14-23: The different types of negative thinking / self-talk that are most common in my life.  23-39: The negative thoughts that come into my head every single morning, and where I think they stem from. 39-43: Quote of the episode. 43-44: Some more info on the free workbook that's available to download. 44-55: My new approach to self-talk, and the process I'm using to overcome it. Looking at how to convert negative self-talk into positive self-talk.  55-57: Conclusions.   Quote of the Episode: "If you want to change your life, begin by changing your words. Start speaking the words of your dreams, of who you want to become, not the words of fear or failure." Podcast Ep #16: Spring Cleaning Regret + Clearing out the Time and Energy to Believe New Things “The role that I play in my real life matters.” This is why it is the perfect time to clear out our regrets. The seeds that spark our imaginations are a focus of my work these days. Especially after finding myself unable to access my imaginative forces during a five month period at the age of 51. I promised myself that I would continue to nurture the faculty of my imagination and never tell myself again that I was too old, irrelevant, and had made all of the wrong decisions. Instead, I decided to leave all of those thoughts on the shore. They were not the boots that would get me across the water to my next horizon. The other thing that fascinates me about this idea of where we find inspiration and what happens when we follow it is that we become a part of the imaginative cycle. We see someone who has done something we haven’t done, we then allow ourselves to believe it is possible for ourselves, and we take the inspired action necessary to realize that imaginative goal. And then, we find ourselves in the role of serving as inspiration for another. ACIM puts it this way, when you free yourself from your own limitations, you open the door for a thousand other people to walk through it. For Nupita, first it is “an intellectual exercise to believe in the imaginary circumstances.” Because her friend from Kenya had attended Yale drama school, it was possible for Lupita’s “imagination to expand.” Someone that looked like her, sounded like her, who came from the same part of the world as her, had done it. This fascinates me. What strikes me this morning as I am listening to this gorgeous podcast interview is the deeper why of why reconciling and clearing our personal regret and resentments matter. It matters because our country is being presented with the same work right now and if we have not done this work in our personal lives, how can we open the door to do this in our societal lives. Who is going to do this work and be the example of what is possible if not you? This is the perfect Segway into the work we are going to do today … tapping to release regret. Regrets are the harms you feel you have done to yourself or others. These might be decisions you have made that you now look on as decisions that have set you back. These might also be the choices that you have made in your past that you now use against yourself as evidence for feeling undeserving of good things. As Dr. Joe Dispenza says, “If you are living by certain emotions that keep you connected to the past, then you can’t create a new future.” Check out his interview on the Goop Podcast, too. Or if you want to go deeper with Dr. Joe, I will include links in the show notes about his book “Breaking the Habit of Being You.” This book changed my life 3 years ago and explained the emotional fuel part of the equation for me in a way I had not heard it before by making the connection between our emotions and the hormones and chemical states they release in our bodies and how we become addicted to those cortisol and adrenaline states and what it takes to switch over to more sustainable energy of oxytocin. All of that is for another podcast. Back to releasing regret. Make yourself comfortable. Listen to the tapping exercise I walk you through. Until next time, XOXO + Press on, T P.S. By the time she died in Syria, in 2012, Marie Colvin was one of the world's most renowned and courageous war correspondents. Recognised for her trademark eye patch - the consequence of a grenade in Sri Lanka, in 2001 - and revered as a journalist, with a 25 year tenure at The Sunday Times, Marie Colvin had a personal life as tumultuous as the war zones she covered. With the help of 300 of Marie's journals, her friend and colleague, Channel 4's International Editor, Lindsey Hilsum, has written a funny, frank and moving biography, In Extremis: The Life of War Correspondent Marie Colvin, where she separates the myth from the woman: as brave as she is glamorous; as fierce as she is vulnerable. Ahead of the release of A Private War - a film of Marie's life, with Rosamund Pike as Marie and Jamie Dornan as photographer, Paul Conroy - we talk to Lindsey about her friendship with Marie, the reality of being a war correspondent and how you keep mentally strong and sane, the bad news cycle, social media and MeToo. Tuesday April 24, 2018  and Certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor Andrea Catherine is here to share with us her spring cleanse.     Consistency, consistency, consistency… I’m struggling this day because this weekend I was on google Analytics and trying to figure out what people are doing… because 25,000 people have been to my website and left within 10 seconds. It always tells me the average is 90 seconds but to see 25,000 have left in 10 seconds? Google Analytics is a rabbit hole. Part of me is like I should quit doing the show notes. I do the show notes for me because when I am talking with the guest it helps me remember what people say so i can tie it altogether. And someday I may write a book…anyway… What’s cooking? (https://www.groundedhere.com/tea) I finally tried the golden milk (https://www.groundedhere.com/tea) . I woke up from a bad dream and could not fall asleep and the golden milk totally worked! (https://www.groundedhere.com/fearless-self-love-retreats) The mystery and magic is more in the intension then the food blasphemous cooking and preparing food has so much to do with the pausing being with the ingredients grinding up spices for the golden milk To me that’s the preparation for our digestion slowing down using our senses experience what we are preparing to receive the thing we are cooking for us something easier to digest calm our nervous system in a way that we can then receive. preparing and drinking the milk was something that served you so well… So i was listening to this podcast trying fall asleep with Gwenyth Paltrow interviewing Oprah and Oprah talks about how she is present in every single second of her life. (https://goop.com/thepodcast/) The GooP Podcast (https://goop.com/thepodcast/) I also texted you my phone screen died and I have my old iPhone 4 out and it won’t download anything etc. There were 2 Lewis Howe’s podcasts on there one with the Founder of Organifi and he was talking about Ayurvedic Nurtition. Oprah doesn’t know it she’s totally my homegrown. I totally think Hillary Clinton will come have tea in my garden someday. One thing I learned about Google Analytics my listeners go to news websites their news junkies like Mike. My mom and Mike are appalled with the whole Facebook thing my feeling is it’s time to buy facebook stock they’re not going anywhere. They take money now, they bought instagram! I love instagram! Everybody loves instagram! I threaten quite often to throw my phone in the river my ideal lifestyle would involve technology an hour a day or less which is a long day off. I’m just thinking about  when I’m happiest my phone is on airplane mode and my computer is no where near me Im in the kitchen or in nature all of these tools to connect us we know they isolate us in a way share with you what I wanted to talk about today that pause how to do that why to do that So Jackie it’s time for a cleanse for me at least. Every year, 2xs a year I do some kind of a cleanse involves  Ayurvedic Kitchari  (https://www.groundedhere.com/cleanse)   Ayurvedic Kitchari (https://www.groundedhere.com/cleanse) mung beans basmati rice vegetables in season cilantro cumin coriander black pepper salt avocado herbal tea that’s it mono diet for 3-7 days in the winter fall transition I stick to that mono diet nourishing the body digests it very well mung bean most easy to digest legume white basmati easier to digest or stick to  quiona amaranth dahl beans themselves spices in the golden milk help to digest the bean help to eliminate gas In springtime what I will do do about a weeklong cleanse I will not just have  Kitchari... In that podcast, which I will link down below because there are SO many gems in it, GP & Oprah briefly discussed “The Disease to Please.” I think this is something so many women struggle with because we tend to have this "inner guilt" where we don't want to disappoint or let anyone down; We want to be liked, and we want people to think we're nice and agreeable. While it's great to be liked, it's not so much when it comes at the expense of not living the life we want to live, spend our time the way we want to spend it, etc. To make sparks in this life, you've got to get comfortable with creating some friction.
