Watch the Screenplay Reading: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJHrGLMF19w Will two chimps type Shakespeare? A pot smoking visionary enlists a struggling book shop owner in a screw-loose plan to jumpstart Evolution. Against long odds and a couple of Mob loan sharks, the rewards are higher consciousness, human speech, and a Nobel Prize for Literature. Get to know the writer: It's a comedy about a hare-brained plan to jump-start Evolution. I began with that old probability teaser, How long would it take one hundred monkeys to type Shakespeare? The answer? Exactly two chimpanzees, in a surprisingly short time! Heaven has a vested interest here in correcting our course of planetary and self-destruction, too. A crazy, maybe dark, premise. But the comedy comes from the characters involved: a hapless bookseller and a pot-smoking visionary, their more stable, sensible wives, two Mob loan sharks, and two chimpanzees, Dick and TOOP. De raigambre europea y originada en Gran Bretaña, conecta con el free jazz, la música académica contemporánea, la experimental y la vanguardia que se gesta también en Estados Unidos. In this special interview, we were able to sit down with Katie Toop, the Senior Director of Transformational Development for World Concern. In this interview, Katie unpacks how she discovered her calling, what working overseas has taught her, and how working in the non-profit sector has personally changed her life. We'll also discuss the truly transformational work of World Concern, and how we can each help end the cycle of poverty for those living in some of the most rural and remote places in the world today.
Ambient music helped me survive the darkest moments of the pandemic, and David Toop's 2001 classic, Ocean of Sound, gave me the context to fully appreciate what I was listening to.He is a rare bird, with dual careers as both an accomplished musician and historian/cultural critic. In a world where artists are so often concerned about overthinking, Toop revels in it.I reached out on hearing that a pair of his 90s works – Pink Spirit and Noir World – had been reissued on vinyl. It was equally an opportunity to discuss silence, a frequent topic of his writings that has become an increasing feature for many who've been forced to slow down for once, amid the pandemic. In this episode we welcome Laura Toop, a grief and loss expert who experienced the loss of her husband, career, and health in quick succession. She has also overcome challenges with mental health, eating disorders, and trauma. Now she radiates magic as she helps others navigate the gap of loss and transition. In our conversation we cover topics such as different forms of loss, both recognized and unrecognized; the importance of taking care of oneself; and how to move forward with intention to create the life we want. “The thing with grief is there's not always a solution. And a lot of it is taking a different perspective on the situation and reframing it and seeing it from a different angle. … You can't look death in the eye and not have it impact your life. We all have a little ray of sunshine that wants to come out.” ~Laura Laura can be found at: Website: http://www.laura-toop.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/laurabridgingthegap/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lauratoop.bridgingthegap/ Your host Jenny Dilts is the founder of Grieving Coach. As a Certified Grief Coach she specializes in transforming adversity into advantage. She helps people feeling unmotivated and without purpose to deal with their grief in healthy ways and move towards creating a life of joy and passion. Working as a Grief Coach has completely transformed her own life from not knowing who she was and living in the shadows, to shining as an expert not only in the field of grief, but also in her own life as a wife and mom of 5. What does it mean to train to be a death doula for your community? This is a question a group of Indigenous youth in Canada grappled with as part of the Death Doula Mentorship Program, created by Blackbird Medicines and the Indigenous death doula collective. Chrystal Waban Toop, founder of Blackbird Medicines, joined us to talk about how early experiences with grief grounded her in the the work she does as a life spectrum doula and her commitment to helping people reconnect with traditional knowledge and cultural practices to guide individual, family, and community transitions throughout the life span. Andy Hollingworth, CEO at Toople #TOOP discusses their Final Results and points to a positive 2021. Toople PLC is incorporated in the UK and listed on the main market of the London Stock Exchange. The business currently trades under four main brands: toople.com; dmsluk.co.uk; broadbandandphones.co.uk; checkthatcompany.co.uk. Toople.com provides bespoke telecoms services for its fast growing target market of UK SMEs with between one and 500 employees. Services offered by the Group include business broadband, fibre, EFM and Ethernet data services, business mobile phones, cloud PBX and SIP Trunking and Traditional Services (calls and lines) all of which are delivered and managed via the Group's proprietary software platform. In February 2020, Toople completed the acquisition of DMS Holding (DMSL). DMSL commenced trading in 2002 and provides unified communication services in the UK, ranging from a single phone line to a multi-site unified comms VoIP platform, delivered via a network of telecoms and IT carriers and content providers across the UK including BT Business, BT Global Services, Gamma, EE, Vonage, TalkTalk Business and O2. DMSL acts as a BT Premier re-seller for broadband connectivity, mobile and fixed voice and cloud services and is responsible for over 250,000 BT customers and over 400,000 Revenue Generating Units. The acquisition of DMSL was transformational for Toople, as it also expanded the Group's reach into the UK residential market, which is experiencing a period of rapid change, as operational automation further develops and more people choose to (or are forced to) work from home. The Company also owns a telecoms price comparison website and a service offering company credit reference checking and reports. These complement the Group's IT and telecoms services. All the Group brands seek to differentiate themselves by offering IT, telecoms and broadband solutions, with robust and reliable packages, that enhance a customers' business and are based on trust and transparency, with no hidden fees within pricing policies. This provides customers with a clear understanding of cost and fixed prices for the duration of their contracts.

They also preview what #ITHSeason13 will look like. Please make sure to "like" and "share" this episode as the guys are ready to be a part of your fall season once again, even without over 70 teams playing each week!

Tools of the Trade: Your Number 1 Construction Industry Resource
I was recently a guest on The Site Visit's podcast where I shared my story. I hope you find value in my journey and walk away with a better understanding of the man behind the microphone at Tools of the Trade. Here is the bio and reason why I started the podcast. Enjoy!Colin has been in the construction industry for 14 years and is a Master Electrician by trade. As he progressed professionally, he realized that the construction industry was falling behind. "We are behind technologically, we have a labor shortage, there is a major lack of resources and mentors and many people are put off by the blue-collar optics of construction." Tools of the Trade was created to help bring the construction industry up by sharing stories, tools, and resources from industry professionals. "This is a billion-dollar industry and we have some major international companies that make up that billion, how come no one knows who owns them or how they got started? I think we could all use some motivation and some good resources to help us grow"Thank you for listening, please subscribe, leave us a review and share this with your friends!Check out The Site Visit Podcast HEREFor show notes, blog posts and past guests, please visit: www.toolspodcast.comSign up for Colin's newsletter HEREInterested in sponsoring the podcast? Mark & Barney invite writer and fearless musical improviser David Toop to reminisce about his work and his long and fascinating career.Toop talks about the impact of an aunt returning from New York with a stack of rhythm & blues 78s – and how this instilled a lifelong love of black American music. After he describes his early adventures in free and improvised music, his hosts ask how a man who's collaborated with Brian Eno and Max Eastley came to profile Bros for The Face – by way of his pioneering 1984 book The Rap Attack, the first serious study of the East Coast hip hop scene. The three men then discuss the cult "disco auteur" Arthur Russell, whom Toop interviewed.Toop also pitches in on the subject of the week's free feature, cult dubstep star Will "Burial" Bevan, with Barney waxing ecstatic about the man's noughties albums and subsequent Hyperdub tracks – and Toop making slightly more sceptical noises.Mark intros the week's new audio interview, with the late Joe Smith, and we hear a clip of the veteran West Coast executive discussing Joni Mitchell, one of the many artists he worked with at Warner Brothers and Elektra/Asylum. After considering Smith's role in the rise of acts like the Grateful Dead, Toop confesses to a surprising penchant for Crosby, Stills & Nash, prompting a more general discussion of dismantling musical hierarchies. Finally, Mark talks us through his highlights among the week's new library articles, including pieces on the Four Tops (1966), Mott the Hoople, with David Bowie on backing vocals (1972) and the late Luther Vandross (1985) – another artist Toop interviewed for The Face. Many thanks to special guest David Toop; Inflamed Invisible is out now, and you can visit his blog at davidtoopblog.com.Pieces discussed: Rap, Arthur Russell, Arthur Russell by Frank Owen, David Toop, Burial, Burialer, Burialest, Joe Smith audio, The Four Tops, Flower Power reader's letter, Mott the Hoople, Luther Vandross and YMCA.The RBP podcast is part of the Pantheon Podcasts network.
