Most people try to “heal” their brain with supplements, mindset, or meditation—but this episode reveals the deeper protocol to actually grow a new brain, reverse stress damage, activate 1,100 healing genes, and unlock higher human performance at any age. You'll learn how neuroplasticity, mitochondria repair, plant-based NRF2 activators, and energetic practices work together to rebuild the brain and extend longevity. Watch this episode on YouTube for the full video experience: https://www.youtube.com/@DaveAspreyBPR Host Dave Asprey sits down with Alberto Villoldo, Ph.D.—medical anthropologist, neuroscientist, energy medicine pioneer, and founder of The Four Winds Society, the gold-standard school for modern shamans. He has spent 25+ years studying Amazonian and Andean healing traditions, led the Biological Self-Regulation Lab at San Francisco State University to explore psychosomatic medicine, and authored more than 25 bestselling books on neuroscience, functional medicine, and energy healing. Few people on earth bridge ancient biohacking and modern brain science at this level. He also reveals the forms of nicotine that are safest (spoiler: it's not vapes or cigarettes), how nicotine works at the receptor level, and what the science says about long-term health effects. This episode blends functional medicine, brain optimization, and biohacking into one powerful, myth-busting breakdown. You'll learn: • How to grow a new brain every 22 days using neuroplasticity and mitochondria support • Why plant medicines and NRF2 activators can turn on 1,100 healing genes in 24 hours • The surprising link between nootropics, psychedelics, serotonin, and endogenous DMT • How mindset, belief systems, and placebo/nocebo shape immune function and metabolism • Why RFK's chronic disease warning connects to viral evolution and immune collapse • The real reason carnivore diets work—and when they fail without gut repair • Peptides, GLP-1 agonists, and the future of functional medicine hacking • Why most people sabotage themselves and how to stop fighting your own biology This is essential listening for anyone serious about biohacking, human performance, and longevity, and for those who want to understand how functional biology and mitochondrial science are redefining recovery, energy, and aging. Dave Asprey is a four-time New York Times bestselling author, founder of Bulletproof Coffee, and the father of biohacking. With over 1,000 interviews and 1 million monthly listeners, The Human Upgrade brings you the knowledge to take control of your biology, extend your longevity, and optimize every system in your body and mind. Each episode delivers cutting-edge insights in health, performance, neuroscience, supplements, nutrition, biohacking, emotional intelligence, and conscious living. New episodes are released every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday (BONUS). Dave asks the questions no one else will and gives you real tools to become stronger, smarter, and more resilient. Bob Proctor almost missed being in The Secret—a garbled voicemail nearly cost him the opportunity that would introduce millions to his work. But long before that moment, Bob had already transformed from a broke, directionless 26-year-old into someone earning over a million dollars a year cleaning offices. His journey reveals a truth most people miss: your results aren't determined by how smart you are or how hard you work, but by the paradigm—the unconscious programming—controlling your behavior. In this conversation, Bob breaks down the higher faculties we all possess but rarely develop, explains why brilliant people stay broke, and offers a roadmap for changing the conditioning that keeps us trapped. In this solo episode, I share a powerful reminder that the very challenges and obstacles we face on the journey to financial freedom are often what make us stronger. I start by revisiting a story I mentioned in my book, Your Journey to Financial Freedom, about the Biosphere 2 experiment where trees grew quickly in perfect, windless conditions but fell before maturing because they never developed the strength to sustain themselves. That missing “wind” reminded me of how important challenges are in our own growth. Just like those trees, when we try to avoid friction or rush toward quick wins, we might grow fast but not strong. The “wind” in our lives, the job losses, tight budgets, market downturns, and unexpected setbacks builds the stress and resilience we need to stand tall and stay grounded when life pushes back. In This Episode, I Talk About: How stress and challenges build strength and how the moments that slow you down, like money, stress or tough life changes, are what prepare you for long-term success. Why sustainable growth matters more than speed. Quick wins feel good, but real freedom comes from patience, consistency, and a strong foundation. How to reframe “going slow”. Going slow isn't failure, it's building roots deep enough to handle life's wind. What if instead of chasing a seat at the table, you built an entirely new game — and the world fell in love with it?On today's episode, we sit down with Jesse Cole, founder and owner of the Savannah Bananas and creator of Banana Ball. Jesse has built one of the most extraordinary, fast-growing sports movements by breaking every rule in the book. In an era where attention is the hardest currency, he's turned baseball into a full-blown entertainment experience — part sport, part show, and all heart. From selling out ballparks across America to giving foster families standing ovations mid-game, Jesse's vision is driven by one principle: Fans First. He shares the habits and systems behind that mindset — from his “Learn, Change, Plus” culture of constant improvement to the leadership lessons that came from adopting two daughters during COVID. It's a conversation about leading with joy, embracing risk, and using creativity as a form of love.In this episode, you'll learn:How to design sold-out experiences by removing friction — and why iteration beats perfectionWhy culture must evolve from “team” to “teammates”The simple system that keeps the Savannah Bananas innovating nightlyWhy “winning” is redefined as a remarkable show and shared joy–not just the scoreHow Jesse and his wife Emily turned their foster journey into Bananas FosterWhat it means to “play your own game” — in business and in lifeThis is a masterclass in building something meaningful — not by following the rules, but by following your heart.--------------------------Links & ResourcesSubscribe to our YouTube Channel for more conversations at the intersection of high performance, leadership, and wellbeing: https://www.youtube.com/c/FindingMasteryGet exclusive discounts and support our amazing sponsors! Hey friends, Chase here. I'm back with a little reflection that's been brewing for a while—one that hits right at the heart of what it means to be a creator right now. Lately, the number one question in my inbox (and probably yours too) goes something like this: “What happens to creativity now that AI can do so much?” If that question sounds familiar, you're not alone. We've seen this movie before. Back in 2006, I wrote a post responding to photographers who were terrified that point-and-shoot cameras would “steal” their jobs. Fast forward to today, and we're hearing the same fear—just swap “AI” for “amateurs with a camera.” For a trip down memory lane, check out that original post, “Don't Worry, Just Focus. Please.” — it's wild how the same conversation echoes through time. Different tools, same creative truth. The Creative Edge Isn't Vanishing — It's Moving. Here's the thing: every new tool feels like a threat at first. Digital cameras. Instagram. Smartphones. Now AI. Each time, a slice of the market shifts. The low-end work gets automated or absorbed by cheaper, faster tools. But the top quartile—the creators who bring taste, originality, and human nuance—don't vanish. They adapt, evolve, and expand what's possible. If you're worried about being replaced, you're probably looking at the wrong part of the playing field. The real creative edge has just moved—it's waiting for you to catch up. Here's what we get into in this episode: History repeats: from point-and-shoot cameras to AI, every leap in tech stirs the same fear—and the same opportunity Stay out of the bottom tier: low-margin work gets eaten first; creativity built on depth, taste, and expertise always finds demand Leverage the tools: don't compete with the machine—learn to wield it to multiply your output and sharpen your ideas Mindset as the real skill: the belief that you can evolve is what keeps you in the game when the rules change The big idea? Your creative advantage isn't disappearing—it's evolving. The tools may change, but what makes your work matter has always been the same: curiosity, courage, and a willingness to play with what's next. AI isn't the end of creativity. It's an invitation to a new chapter. So pick up the tools, experiment, and move with the edge—because that's where the real art happens. Until next time—stay curious, stay evolving, and keep creating.

If your voice has grown faint under the noise of everyone else's needs, this episode shows you how to tune back in and hear yourself again. There was a season when my voice felt almost gone. Muted by all the demands around me. I didn't even realize how quiet it had gotten until it was taken away in a painful way. But that loss sparked something powerful and eventually led to creating Eat Blog Talk. If you've ever wondered “Where am I in all of this?” then this episode is for you. Action Steps: Ask gentle questions: Pause daily and ask “What do I need right now?” Listen for whispers: Your true voice usually returns as nudges, not shouts. Most people carry around a mental scorecard of their failed attempts. Every diet that fell apart, every workout routine that fizzled out, every promise to stop snacking that ended with your hand in the chip bag - they all stack up as evidence that maybe you're just not cut out for lasting change. Your brain uses this track record like a crystal ball, predicting that your next attempt will end the same way. And when you're stuck in that loop of trying and failing, it becomes harder to trust yourself each time you want to try again. The real challenge with habit change isn't finding the perfect program or the right motivation. It's believing you can actually stick with it when your history says otherwise. Join me this week to discover how to stack small wins, expect discomfort, and keep moving forward even when belief feels far away. If you're tired of starting over and ready to build lasting habits (even if you don't fully believe you can yet), this episode is for you. In this exclusive episode of An Educated Guest, host Todd Zipper sits down with John Baker, the visionary Founder and CEO of D2L. John shares the remarkable 25-year journey of D2L, tracing its evolution from a student startup into a publicly traded global learning platform. The conversation explores the massive industry shift from simply managing content to building a "true perpetual learning platform" that serves K-12, higher education, and corporate clients. John argues that AI is the critical enabler—the final piece of the puzzle that will solve chronic issues like lack of personalization and high student failure rates, making models like competency-based education easier to implement than ever before. He provides a fascinating look at SkillsWave, discussing why employers are demanding stackable micro-credentials and why the future of education is less about the traditional degree and more about building skills for "more caring, more impactful work." John also addresses the challenge of AI-enabled cheating and offers a bold prediction for how personalization will redefine quality education in the next decade.Key Takeaways from this Episode:The Power of AI in the LMS: How D2L's generative AI tool, LUMI, is already transforming the faculty workflow by automating assignment and quiz creation, freeing up time for human mentorship.Competency-Based Education (CBE): Why CBE, long seen as theoretical, is now poised for mainstream adoption, thanks to AI simplifying the difficult work of mapping skills and creating personalized pathways. The Global Advantage: Insights into how D2L achieved market leadership in countries like Singapore and Canada by obsessing over client problems and incorporating local innovations into its global product.Building Enduring Companies: John's advice on how a relentless focus on solving the client's biggest problem—and treating change as a constant—is the only sustainable strategy in EdTech.About Our Guest:John Baker is the Founder and CEO of D2L and the Executive Chairman of SkillsWave. What if the very thing holding you back from success isn't your strategy, but your mindset? In this episode, I'm diving into the one mindset shift that separates successful entrepreneurial therapists from those stuck in burnout, fear, or self-doubt. I'm sharing the real stories behind my own messy beginnings—failed workshops, awkward launches, and showing up when no one was watching—and why those moments were actually the foundation of everything that came after. This isn't about hustling harder; it's about learning to do what others won't. From being willing to be embarrassed, to showing up even when no one's clapping, to surrounding yourself with people who challenge your limits—this episode will call you out (lovingly) and challenge you to rise. If you're ready to finally start operating from a place of confidence and resilience instead of comparison and fear, this one's for you. Topics Covered in This Episode: 1:25 - The uncomfortable truth about burnout and why most therapists fall into it 4:30 - The mindset shift that sets successful entrepreneurs apart 08:57 - Why failure and embarrassment are actually part of your success formula 11:45 - The secret power of showing up when no one's watching 14:20 - How to invest your time and energy like people who are “light years ahead” 16:58 - The hardest (and most freeing) lesson—being misunderstood 18:10 - How to protect your mindset when family and friends “don't get it” Resources Mentioned: Find out more about Alma here: helloalma.com/danielle Take 70% off your first 4 months of Simple Practice + a 7 day free trial using the link: simplepractice.com/danielle

The road to mastery is paved with small improvements every day.Communicating can feel daunting at times. What does it take to find your voice in the moments that matter most? As Chiney Ogwumike says, “There is freedom on the other side of your fear.”As a professional basketball player, NBA and WNBA analyst for ESPN, and advocate for gender equality in sports, Ogwumike faces many situations where communication is critical. For her, achieving confidence in communication is the same as honing any other skill—embracing failure and refinement through repetition. “The best things in life are things you work out over long periods of time,” she says. “Great people, great communicators, anyone that's working at something, show up each and every day and just chip away, chip away, chip away, until they turn that weakness into a strength.”In this episode of Think Fast, Talk Smart, Ogwumike and host Matt Abrahams discuss how practice and preparation can equip us for better communication, transforming fear into confidence, perfectionism into authenticity, and weakness into strength. To listen to the extended Deep Thinks version of this episode, please visit FasterSmarter.io/premium.Episode Reference Links:Chiney OgwumikeEp.166 Why Relying on Talent Alone Will Fail You Ep.153 Listen Up, Leaders: A Record-Setting Coach's Guide to Communication Connect:Premium Signup >>>> Think Fast Talk Smart PremiumEmail Questions & Feedback >>> hello@fastersmarter.ioEpisode Transcripts >>> Think Fast Talk Smart WebsiteNewsletter Signup + English Language Learning >>> FasterSmarter.ioThink Fast Talk Smart >>> LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTubeMatt Abrahams >>> LinkedInChapters:(00:00) - Introduction (02:20) - Communication on the Court (04:02) - Performing Under Pressure (06:11) - Lessons from Great Coaches (08:21) - Embracing Imperfection and Authenticity (11:43) - Strategies for Effective On-Air Communication (16:16) - The Final Three Questions (19:09) - Conclusion ********Thank you to our sponsors. Sun Yong Kim-Manzolini is a lifestyle mentor, accomplished options trader, and CEO of Lush Enterprises LLC. She now inspires and teaches everyday people how to build skills for real, leveraged wealth through options, mindset, and self-belief.
