Asteroid "12 Victoria" is a large S-type (stony) asteroid in the main asteroid belt, discovered in 1850 by J.R. Hind. It orbits between Mars and Jupiter, recently, a meteor event occurred over Victoria, Australia, in August 2025, which created a sonic boom and was large enough for fragments to potentially have landed on the ground.  5th & 6th - Moon Near Pleiades NGC's 253 & 288 well placed tonight 7th - Cleomedes Sunset Rays visible on Moon 9th  - Carbon Star VX And Best tonight 10th - Jupiter 4-degrees S of Moon 11th - asteroid 471 Papagena at opposition  471 Papagena is an asteroid that was discovered by German astronomer Max Wolf on 7 June 1901 12th - N Taurid Meteors ZHR=5 The Northern Taurid meteor shower, active from roughly October 20 to December 10, peaks around November 12. It is known for producing bright, slow-moving fireballs that are easy to spot with the naked eye. The shower is caused by Earth passing through debris from Comet Encke  14th - Zodiacal Light becomes visible this month 17th - Leonid Meteors this morning The Leonid meteor shower is an annual event that peaks around November 17th, when Earth passes through debris left by Comet 55P/Tempel-Tuttle. These fast, bright meteors appear to originate from the constellation Leo, which is how they got their name. The orbital plane is inclined at an angle of 7.97° to the ecliptic.68 Leto is a large main belt asteroid that is orbiting the Sun. The Aboriginal people of Australia are on the precipice of cementing a historic agreement with the state of Victoria, one that could provide a blueprint for recognizing Indigenous peoples and incorporating their voices and cultures into the political process going forward. The treaty is a first for Australia and comes after years of research, negotiation, and a failed political referendum in 2023. Among other things, those crafting the treaty look to avoid the pitfalls of federal treaties with Native Americans and First Nations peoples of Canada. We'll hear from those who worked to make the treaty happen and what about their hopes and concerns following this historic action. Arranging everything, I made sure a few words were prominent, like FiLia, and solidarity. While mostly obscured, Zionism is situated over Gaza. Other words, such as biological, gender, research, influential, bodies, and war showed up more randomly. I appreciate the texture of the words - and ideas. How they overlap visually and abstractly. This week I'm joined by the wildly well-traveled UK based model, Jade Kitty Dawson: a full-time touring art nude / fashion / alt model who has shot over countless photo sessions across Europe. She and I finally found a moment to connect despite the 7-hour time zone difference between the US and the UK. We talk about the realities of modeling in the UK vs mainland Europe (and why the rates are often lower in the UK), how she strategically chooses where she tours so she can still walk away with profit, and her upcoming major leap: planning her very first tour to Australia, where she'll be flying 22+ hours for a 2–3 week run. What I love about Jade is her willingness to take those big, scary leaps purely in the name of growth - even when she's nervous - because, as she says, “you always regret the chances you didn't take.”   We also dive deep into the beginning of her career — she started doing “site modeling” at just 14, styling, shooting, and editing her own photos as a one-woman creative outlet, which genuinely helped her come out of a dark period of bullying, depression, and anxiety. From there we follow her path into professional modeling, the encouragement she received to try art nude, navigating family reactions, and the harsh lessons she learned about safety while traveling internationally as a freelance model. (She's had to deal with both genuinely kind photographers who lay out a full spread of snacks… AND the rare creeps who prove that even a photographer you've known for years can cross a line.) All in all, this is such a raw, honest, truly global conversation about independence, self-trust, taking risks, and staying safe in a wildly unconventional career.
