If you fall short on sleep, can you really “catch up” the next night? Many people think so — but our bodies don't quite work that way. This episode begins with what science says about recovering from poor sleep and how to optimize deep sleep when your schedule gets disrupted. https://www.womenshealthmag.com/health/a40511210/deep-sleep/ What makes a song a hit? Trends, personal taste, timing, and luck all play a role — but today, technology shapes popular music more than ever. From how songs are created to how they spread, the path to a hit is constantly evolving. Chris Dalls Riva joins me to unpack it all. He's Senior Product Manager at Audiomack, a musician and writer, creator of the newsletter Can't Get Much Higher, and author of Uncharted Territory: What Numbers Tell Us About the Biggest Hit Songs and Ourselves. (https://amzn.to/4pODklu). All kinds of things can be explained by math – from the beauty of a rainbow to the incredible pattern of sunflower seeds to why we have some left-handed people but not too many. Joining me to drill into the numbers on all this is Eddie Woo. He is the head mathematics teacher at Cherrybrook Technology High School in Sydney, Australia. In 2012, he began recording his lessons and posting them on YouTube and created Wootube https://misterwootube.com/ which has more than 600,000 subscribers and over 33 million views. He's also author of It's a Numberful World: How Math Is Hiding Everywhere (https://amzn.to/3KOHPOb). There are 12 core workplace skills that shape how well we perform — and everyone has strengths and weaknesses across them. Understanding yours can make a big difference in how you work and how others work with you. Insights come from Chuck Martin, author of Smarts.(https://amzn.to/3KzlaWc) PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SPONSORS! What does it really look like to live as a professional high-stakes gambler at the very top of the casino food chain? In this episode, Johnny sits down with RJ “Chip” Ryan — a legendary blackjack whale who spent decades betting millions per hand in casinos from Atlantic City to Las Vegas to Macau. RJ tells the raw, unfiltered story of how he went from a broke gambler driving to Atlantic City with his last $5,000, to carrying $10 million in checks, flying private jets, rubbing shoulders with billionaires and celebrities, and taking casinos for millions of dollars at a time. RJ is also known to many as “Robin Hood of Las Vegas” from the Cocaine Cowboys universe — the man who helped launder cartel money through casinos, later cooperating with the feds and offering a very different version of events than what's been told on screen. This episode dives deep into: -The real math and psychology behind winning at high-stakes blackjack -How casinos court, reward, and ultimately try to break whales -Blowing millions in a single night — and coming back the next day to win it all back -Private jets, penthouse suites, celebrity parties, and casino politics The emotional toll of gambling, addiction, loyalty, karma, and survival -RJ's personal reckoning after caring for his mother, losing everything, and betting his life on one final run This is not a glamorized gambling story — it's a brutally honest look at the highs, lows, wins, losses, and moral gray zones of a life lived on the edge. Stick around until the end and decide for yourself: Was RJ a genius, a degenerate, a hustler — or all three? This Episode Is #Sponsored By The Following: Ridge! Dharmesh Sheth is joined by Martin Samuel, Dominic King and Julien Laurens to reflect on the weekend's sporting action. We start with The Ashes, as Australia defeat England in the third Test in Adelaide to seal the series. Martin labels it a “crushing disappointment” for England, while Julien points out this wasn't even Australia at full strength. Adam Collins joins the show to praise a dominant Australian performance and predicts a 5–0 whitewash. We then move to Liverpool's dramatic 2–1 win over nine-man Spurs. Dominic questions Isak's underwhelming spell after another injury, while Julien points to lingering defensive problems. Next, we ask where Spurs are heading, as Julien argues it's hard to see what Thomas Frank is trying to do.Also, Manchester United's chaos continues after a 4–4 draw with Bournemouth, prompting debate over whether Amorim has got it wrong on Kobbie Mainoo and his role in the team. Finally, we turn to the title race: is the pressure mounting on Arsenal? Top of the league but unconvincing, and with Gyökeres' form in doubt, we as who should lead the line when fully fit? And after a 3–0 win over West Ham, Man City look dominant in the title chase. John Catsimatidis is the Chairman and CEO, The Red Apple Group and Owner of the Iconic 77 WABC Radio in New York City. The Red Apple Group is a conglomerate that owns and operates assets in the energy, real estate, finance, insurance, and supermarket industries. 77 WABC Radio is heard in 50 states and 173 countries. John is the author of Wall Street Journal Bestseller and Publishers Weekly Bestseller — “How Far Do You Want to Go: Lessons from a Common-Sense Billionaire.” As a leading American entrepreneur, John Catsimatidis will provide insights into the state of the US economy as inflation drops, nationwide gas prices fall under $2.80 per gallon and rent prices coming down. John will explain how free market principles applied by House Republicans in Congress with President Trump's "The One, Big, Beautiful Bill" will cut taxes for Americans earning under $50,000 by 14.9%. John will also highlight the benefits for 4 million tipped workers like waitresses, barbers, hairstylists, and taxi drivers who will not pay taxes on tips. For those working overtime - once again, this group of hard-working Americans will not be taxed on overtime. A major savings and great benefit for senior citizens who will not have to pay taxes on social security. Natasha Srdoc and John Catsimatidis discuss key economic data of economic growth rates and how changes at the Federal Reserve Bank may usher in an era of lower interest rates that will further help working families. Joel Anand and John Catsimatidis discuss the major fraud and money laundering unveiled in Minnesota with federal taxpayer funds abused. According to published reports: "A Minnesota safety net program was so easy to scam, it attracted tourists, Assistant U.S. Attorney Joe Thompson said Thursday. The extent of fraud in Minnesota human services programs — which has become infamous across the country — is even higher than the public knew. Providers in 14 “high-risk,” state-run Medicaid programs being audited by the state have billed $18 billion since 2018, and “half or more” is possibly fraudulent, Thompson said." The conversation on America's Roundtable will also focus on the horrific terrorist attack in Sydney, Australia, with 15 innocent civilians murdered and over 40 injured as the Jewish community gathered for the first day of Hanukkah. The brazen manifestation of anti-Semitism in the West, including America is brought to the forefront. The concerns of the waves of socialism battering America will be highlighted as the Democratic Party becomes more influenced by the Democratic Socialist Party's agenda which pushes communism and socialism, dangerous ideologies that have failed and left billions of people around the world in poverty. The conversation will also bring to the forefront economic forecasts for 2026 and what Americans can expect in the New Year. americasrt.com (https://americasrt.com/) https://ileaderssummit.org/ | https://jerusalemleaderssummit.com/ America's Roundtable on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/americas-roundtable/id1518878472 X: @JCats2013 @ileaderssummit @americasrt1776 @NatashaSrdoc @JoelAnandUSA @supertalk @JTitMVirginia America's Roundtable is co-hosted by Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy, co-founders of International Leaders Summit and the Jerusalem Leaders Summit.
