Septiembre 01, 2026 - Aun en medio del sufrimiento, que reconfortables son las palabras de Cristo cuando nos dice que no tengamos temor porque El esta con nosotros. En los primeros capitulos del libro de Apocalipsis, hay una seria de mensajes que van dirigidos a las siete iglesias. Son palabras de animo, de esperanza pero tambien de exhortacion a no claudicar. Sin duda son ensenanzas que la iglesia de hoy debe prestar atencion.

El baobab africano puede vivir más de mil años en algunas de las tierras más secas del planeta. Cuando llega la sequía y no cae una gota en meses, el árbol no muere, porque sus raíces almacenaron el agua de las lluvias anteriores y ahora la liberan poco a poco, tronco adentro, hasta que el cielo vuelve a abrirse. Nada de lo que lo sostiene ocurre a la vista. Septiembre suele llegar cargado de comienzos: de escuela, de rutinas, de propósitos que se renuevan con el cambio de estación. Antes de pensar en lo que se construirá hacia arriba este mes, conviene preguntarnos de qué raíz estamos sosteniéndonos. El Señor Jesús no exigió a Sus discípulos un fruto inmediato. Primero los arraigó en Su presencia, en Su Palabra, en una relación sostenida día tras día. Sin esa raíz, lo demás es fachada. Este mes hablará de herencia, de identidad, de lo que se recibe de quienes vinieron antes. Pero todo empieza en una pregunta sencilla: ¿de qué agua vives hoy? Si la raíz está firme en Cristo, ninguna sequía tiene la última palabra. La Biblia dice en Colosenses 2:6-7: “Andad en él; arraigados y sobreedificados en él, y confirmados en la fe”. (RV1960).

La guerra de Ucrania ha entrado en una fase en la que ambos bandos atacan la retaguardia del contrario, pero el castigo no se reparte por igual. La retaguardia ucraniana es realmente la Unión Europea y el Reino Unido, que este año han aprobado un paquete de 90.000 millones de euros en ayuda y estudian otro paquete similar financiado con activos rusos congelados. Los centros logísticos del ejército ucraniano están realmente en Polonia, Alemania o Rumanía. Rusia, en cambio, paga la guerra con hidrocarburos que vende a descuento a China y la India, y sus aliados, Irán y Corea del Norte, están en la ruina. La asimetría se observa son un simple vistazo. Los drones ucranianos alcanzan objetivos hasta la misma Siberia y han inutilizado más de un tercio de la capacidad de refinamiento rusa, con la consiguiente crisis de suministro de combustible. Sin un aliado dispuesto a atacar a la OTAN y a absorber las represalias, al Kremlin solo le queda la vía de la guerra híbrida. Se han encontrado drones explosivos en un aeropuerto alemán, se han producido ciberataques contra los ferrocarriles polacos, un incendio en una empresa de defensa estonia, explosiones en polvorines italianos y búlgaros, y proliferan los saboteadores reclutados por Telegram. Los incidentes han pasado de unos 10 al mes en 2024 a unos 15 desde el mes de abril. La ambigüedad beneficia a Putin, porque atribuirle todo este desorden refuerza gratis su reputación. El objetivo es obviamente político. Trata de erosionar el apoyo occidental a Ucrania y agitar la política interna de Alemania, Francia, Finlandia, Estonia y Polonia, que tienen elecciones en los próximos meses. Pero la estrategia no termina de funcionar. Los europeos del este perciben cerca el peligro y redoblan su apoyo a Ucrania. En Polonia, Rumanía y los países bálticos la mayor parte de la población está a favor de seguir enviando dinero y armas a Ucrania. Algo similar sucede en Europa occidental. El reloj corre contra el Kremlin. El ejército ruso pierde unos 35.000 hombres al mes entre muertos y heridos, más de los que consigue reclutar pese a pagar primas de hasta 4 millones de rublos y sueldos para los soldados rasos 3 o 4 veces superiores al salario medio en Rusia. Sostener ese ritmo exigirá una movilización que equivaldría a admitir que no están ganando. Una movilización, además, hundiría la popularidad de Putin en el interior. Bloqueado el avance terrestre, al Kremlin le quedan dos tipos de escalada. La vertical, ya ensayada con ejercicios nucleares sorpresa, que sirva de aviso de que podría recurrir al uso del arsenal nuclear. Y la horizontal, que consistiría en ampliar la extensión del conflicto para congelarlo después en mejores condiciones. Todo aprovechándose de la actitud de Donald Trump que ha debilitado la disuasión hasta tal punto que la semana pasada su Gobierno tuvo que enviar en secreto a Moscú al director de la CIA para recordar a Putin que el artículo 5 sigue en pie. El centro de gravedad ya no está en el Donbás ni en ningún otro lugar del frente, sino en la resistencia de los países europeos y en su disposición a sostener a Ucrania durante el tiempo que sea necesario. Una mujer salía de un hospital con una bolsa. Adentro, un bebé recién nacido. Fue convertida en el símbolo de lo peor que puede ser una mujer y 13 años después, Saskia la grabó antes de que saliera libre. Y lo que escuchó fue una historia completamente diferente. Ale Marín era enfermera. Le hablaba a su panza en la oscuridad pidiéndole al bebé que se quedara. Su suegra le dijo que las mujeres que no pueden ser mamás son mulas. Su esposo esperaba hijos con su sangre. Y ella se lo creyó. Se lo creyó tanto que durante años pensó que era un espécimen raro, incompleto, defectuoso. Tres embarazos perdidos. Tratamientos de fertilidad que duelen y que se hacen en silencio. Un sistema médico que medía folículos pero nunca preguntó cómo estaba ella. El tercero lo perdió mientras trabajaba, sola, en la madrugada. Y fue ahí donde dijo algo que lo explica todo: "Ese día empezó realmente mi cárcel". No cuando la detuvieron. No cuando el juez habló. El día que una doctora le dijo que no iba a poder ser mamá. Siete meses fingiendo un embarazo que no existía. Ropa de maternidad, baby shower, un cuarto decorado. Los peritajes del caso confirmaron que Ale estaba en un trastorno mental transitorio. Un delito cuya pena máxima era de cuatro años. Y para mí es una buena noticia, porque a mi mujer le han concedido un par de semanas de vacaciones en septiembre, así que podremos ir a España para ver a nuestros hijos, para renovar el documento de identidad, para cambiar los neumáticos del coche, porque aquí es muy caro, para cortarnos el pelo… En fin, para todas las cosas que solemos hacer cada vez que vamos a nuestro país. Y también habrá tiempo para hacer algún viaje corto, porque necesitamos desconectar un poco del trabajo. Eso sí, como cada verano, dejaré grabados varios episodios para que tengas contenidos todas las semanas. Ese siempre ha sido mi compromiso y lo cumpliré. De hecho, ya los tengo casi preparados. Solo me faltan pequeños detalles. Pero vamos a centrarnos ya en el episodio de hoy. Si has seguido las noticias de España durante el verano, hay una que dio la vuelta al mundo. Me refiero a la entrada masiva de personas inmigrantes procedentes de Marruecos. Y antes de escuchar la información que he seleccionado para ti, conviene entender algo muy importante. Estoy hablando de lo que son y dónde están Ceuta y Melilla, porque para muchas personas que viven fuera de España pueden resultar un poco difíciles de situar en el mapa. Ceuta y Melilla son dos ciudades españolas que se encuentran en el norte de África, en la costa mediterránea. Aunque están físicamente en el continente africano, forman parte de España y, por lo tanto, también forman parte de la Unión Europea. Ceuta está rodeada casi por completo por Marruecos y Melilla también comparte frontera terrestre con ese país. Por eso son dos lugares muy especiales. De hecho, representan una de las pocas fronteras terrestres que existen entre África y la Unión Europea. Y precisamente por esa razón aparecen con frecuencia en las noticias relacionadas con la inmigración. Cada año, miles de personas intentan llegar a Europa desde diferentes países africanos. Algunas lo hacen en embarcaciones a través del mar Mediterráneo o del océano Atlántico. Otras intentan entrar a través de las fronteras de Ceuta y Melilla. A veces los intentos consisten en saltar las vallas fronterizas. En otras ocasiones, como sucede en la noticia que vamos a escuchar hoy, algunas personas intentan llegar a territorio español nadando por el mar. Se trata de una situación muy compleja porque, por un lado, están las personas que buscan mejores oportunidades de vida o que intentan escapar de situaciones difíciles en sus países de origen. Pero, por otro lado, también existe el debate sobre cómo gestionar las fronteras y cómo aplicar las leyes de inmigración. Por eso, cada vez que aumenta el número de llegadas o se produce una tragedia en la frontera, vuelve a abrirse un intenso debate político y social en España. Por cierto, en la noticia vas a escuchar hablar de una sentencia reciente del Tribunal Supremo español. Y es algo que tengo que explicarte. Esa sentencia estableció que los migrantes interceptados en el mar cuando intentan llegar a Ceuta o Melilla nadando no pueden ser devueltos inmediatamente a Marruecos. Hasta ahora, cuando una persona intentaba cruzar la frontera terrestre saltando las vallas de Ceuta o Melilla, las autoridades podían aplicar el llamado rechazo en frontera, es decir, devolverla de forma inmediata a Marruecos. Esa posibilidad sigue existiendo para quienes intentan entrar superando los elementos físicos de la frontera, como las vallas. Sin embargo, el Supremo decidió que esa norma no puede utilizarse cuando la entrada se produce por mar, ya que en el mar no existen barreras físicas equivalentes a las vallas. Y con este contexto, ahora sí estamos preparados para entender mucho mejor la noticia que vamos a analizar hoy. Una vez más, pertenece a Radio Nacional de España. “Ha sido un fin de semana de fuerte presión migratoria en Ceuta, con más de 200 intentos de entrada de personas a nado. La Guardia Civil ha recuperado en aguas de la ciudad autónoma cuatro cadáveres y hay una veintena de denuncias por desaparición. Lara Albillos. El aumento de la presión migratoria ha vuelto a poner rostro a la tragedia que se vive en la frontera entre Marruecos y Ceuta. La Guardia Civil ha recuperado solo este fin de semana cuatro cadáveres en el mar. El primero de ellos se encontró cuando un amplio dispositivo de Guardia Civil, Policía Nacional y bomberos acudió para rescatar a tres inmigrantes marroquíes que habían alcanzado las rocas. Horas después se localizaron otros tres cuerpos sin vida en el mar. Ante este incremento de intentos de llegada a nado, el gobierno local considera imprescindible impulsar una modificación de la ley de extranjería que posibilite las devoluciones en caliente en el mar. Así te habrá resultado más fácil entenderla. Aunque puede ser compleja. Por eso vamos a analizar las palabras y expresiones más difíciles. Presión migratoria: Expresión utilizada para describir un aumento importante de la llegada o el intento de llegada de migrantes a una frontera o territorio determinado. -Las Islas Canarias están experimentando una fuerte presión migratoria este verano. -El gobierno ha enviado más recursos a la frontera debido a la creciente presión migratoria. A nado: significa "nadando", es decir, desplazándose por el agua utilizando el propio cuerpo sin embarcación. -Consiguió llegar a la playa a nado después de que su barco sufriera una avería. -Algunos migrantes intentaron cruzar la frontera a nado durante la noche. Poner rostro: Mostrar el lado humano de un problema o una situación, normalmente a través de personas concretas y sus historias. -El documental pone rostro al drama de las personas sin hogar. -La entrevista puso rostro a una tragedia que hasta entonces solo conocíamos por las estadísticas. Amplio: Grande, extenso o formado por muchos elementos o personas. -La policía organizó un amplio operativo de búsqueda. -Existe un amplio consenso sobre la necesidad de proteger el medio ambiente. Dispositivo: Conjunto de medios humanos y materiales organizados para realizar una operación o una tarea concreta. -Se desplegó un amplio dispositivo de emergencia tras el incendio. -El dispositivo de seguridad estaba formado por decenas de agentes. Acudir: Ir a un lugar, normalmente porque se necesita ayuda, porque alguien llama o porque ocurre algo importante. -Los bomberos acudieron rápidamente al lugar del accidente. -Miles de personas acudieron al concierto celebrado en el centro de la ciudad. Impulsar: Promover, favorecer o dar fuerza a una iniciativa, proyecto o proceso para que avance. -El gobierno quiere impulsar una reforma educativa. -Las nuevas inversiones ayudarán a impulsar la economía local. Devolución en caliente: Expresión utilizada para referirse a la devolución inmediata de personas migrantes después de cruzar una frontera, sin seguir los procedimientos ordinarios de identificación o solicitud de protección. -Las devoluciones en caliente generan un intenso debate político y jurídico. -Algunas organizaciones critican las devoluciones en caliente por considerar que limitan ciertas garantías legales. A raíz de: Como consecuencia de algo o después de que ocurra un hecho determinado. -A raíz del accidente, se revisaron todas las normas de seguridad. -La empresa cambió su estrategia a raíz de las quejas de los clientes. Rechazo: Acción de no aceptar, impedir o negar la entrada, la participación o la validez de algo o alguien. -El rechazo de su solicitud le causó una gran decepción. -El gobierno anunció nuevas medidas para facilitar el rechazo de entradas irregulares en la frontera. Más tarde, los equipos de búsqueda encontraron otros tres cadáveres en el mar. Ante el considerable aumento de las llegadas por vía marítima, las autoridades ceutíes consideran fundamental promover una reforma de la legislación de inmigración. Su objetivo es permitir el retorno inmediato de las personas que accedan irregularmente a la ciudad por mar. Según el gobierno local, Ceuta está soportando una presión migratoria excepcional que se ha intensificado en los últimos meses tras una decisión reciente del Tribunal Supremo. Por ese motivo, defienden la necesidad de modificar la normativa actual para que contemple también la devolución de quienes entren nadando en territorio español. Según los datos del Ministerio del Interior, durante 2025 llegaron a España de forma irregular unas 32.900 personas a través del mar. La mayoría de ellas alcanzaron las costas de las Islas Canarias, aunque también hubo llegadas a la península, Baleares, Ceuta y Melilla. Otro dato curioso es que la ruta más utilizada no fue la de Ceuta o Melilla, sino la de las Islas Canarias. Y quizás el dato más importante de todos es que detrás de estas estadísticas hay personas que asumen enormes riesgos. Muchas recorren cientos o incluso miles de kilómetros antes de embarcarse en travesías peligrosas en pateras o cayucos para intentar alcanzar territorio europeo. Por eso, cuando escuchamos noticias como la de Ceuta, conviene recordar que no estamos hablando solamente de números. Estamos hablando de seres humanos, de familias y de historias personales muy diferentes. Algunas terminan bien. Otras, desgraciadamente, terminan en tragedias como la que hemos conocido hoy. Venga, repasamos las palabras y expresiones que hemos explicado hoy. Presión migratoria: aumento importante de la llegada o el intento de llegada de migrantes a una frontera o territorio determinado. A nado: significa "nadando". Poner rostro: Mostrar el lado humano de un problema o una situación. Amplio: Grande, extenso o formado por muchos elementos o personas. Este cambio de planes responde a la presión ejercida por sus socios parlamentarios y por el Partido Popular, quienes forzaron la convocatoria de un pleno extraordinario que ha interrumpido el descanso estival del presidente. El debate sobre las vacaciones de Pedro Sánchez ha generado una gran polémica, especialmente después de que trascendiera que sus propios asesores en la Moncloa tuvieron que convencerle de no viajar a Andorra junto a su esposa, Begoña Gómez. La portavoz parlamentaria del PSOE, Montse Mínguez, intentó defender la actividad del Ejecutivo argumentando que los ministros no han parado de trabajar durante todo el mes de agosto. Mientras tanto, la tensión en las calles de Ceuta va en aumento, registrándose graves enfrentamientos en la playa del Trampolín donde las fuerzas de seguridad tuvieron que efectuar disparos disuasorios para evitar choques entre los manifestantes locales y los inmigrantes. La gestión de los menores extranjeros no acompañados también centra la atención de la Conferencia Sectorial de Juventud e Infancia, donde se debate el reparto de fondos y el traslado de estos jóvenes a la península. La ministra de Juventud e Infancia, Sira Rego, busca consensuar esta medida con las comunidades autónomas, aunque regiones gobernadas por el Partido Popular y Vox han mostrado su rechazo o han exigido que se agoten todas las vías para el retorno de los menores con sus familias. Finalmente, la alcaldesa de Cartagena ha alertado sobre las consecuencias que estas políticas de fronteras abiertas tienen sobre la seguridad ciudadana y la convivencia. Según Arroyo, el Gobierno de España ha intentado instalar un campamento temporal de atención a inmigrantes en Cartagena del que muchos terminan saliendo sin recursos, generando problemas asistenciales que deben ser asumidos por el propio ayuntamiento. David says his silence drained him, but confession brought him into the joy of forgiveness. A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.” Matthew 15:21-22 Don’t Think You Are Not Welcome This woman had every reason to stay away from Jesus. She was a Canaanite. Jesus was a Jew. For centuries, there had been a separation between Jews and Gentiles. The Canaanites were not part of Israel. They were not heirs of the Old Testament covenant in the same way the Jewish people were. Yet she came anyway. Desperation certainly played a role. Her daughter was suffering terribly. But there was something more. This woman believed that Jesus could help. She even addressed him as “Lord, Son of David,” recognizing him as the promised Messiah. Somehow, she had come to trust that this Jewish teacher was more than a teacher. He was the Savior. What happened next might seem discouraging at first. Jesus initially remained silent. Then he spoke of being sent to the lost sheep of Israel. Yet the woman did not give up. She continued to plead for mercy. She trusted that Jesus’ compassion was greater than the barriers that seemed to stand between them. And she was right. By the end of the account, Jesus praised her faith and granted her request. Her daughter was healed, and the outsider was welcomed. What a beautiful picture of God’s grace toward us. By nature, we too were outsiders. Sin separated us from God. We had no claim upon his favor and no right to stand in his presence. Yet he came to save the world. Through his perfect life, sacrificial death, and glorious resurrection, he opened the door of salvation to all people. Like the Canaanite woman, we approach Jesus empty-handed. We come seeking mercy, not deserving rewards. We come confessing our need, not our worthiness. And like that woman, we discover that Jesus welcomes us. So come to him boldly. The mercy you seek is found in him, and his welcome is greater than you ever expected. Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for welcoming me into your family through your saving grace. Amen. Our sons worked for many years on a Native American reservation. And it was one of the few places on that dark reservation. Dark because so few people had been reached for Christ and so few had any Christmas decorations up. But I was always impressed with that one village church where they had a lot of lights outlining all their church buildings, and there was a cross covered with lights on top of the church's steeple. It was pretty impressive. One Christmas I had a chance to visit there and I got to see the lights of the church and that cross. And, man, the cross really stands out against the darkness. And I met Rose. She's a Native woman who attends that church. Those lights are an important part of her story actually. She said, "I have struggled with alcohol for many years. And one night, during the Christmas season, I hit bottom. I was in the pit. I wandered outside and there it was – the cross all lit up in front of me. I came to where the cross was," she said, "and with the help of the pastor's wife, I finally found hope that night." I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Light in Your Dark Night." As that Native woman discovered that night when it was especially dark for her, the shape of hope is the cross of Jesus. For her, and maybe for you right now. In our word for today from the Word of God in Ephesians 2:12, the Bible describes in eight little words how so many people feel. It talks about being (here we go!) "without hope and without God in the world." "Without hope" describes the feeling that things are always going to be like they've always been, I'm never going to change, my life is never going to change, I'll always come up empty, I'll always come up lonely, I'm always going to come up confused, I'm always going to come up feeling worthless. The habits, the failures, the weaknesses that have always brought me down, they're always going to bring me down. Rose, the woman I met at that reservation church, said it was like being "in the pit." And the Bible suggests that the ultimate reason we are "without hope" is because we are "without God." That doesn't mean you don't believe in God or even know a lot about God. It means you don't have the personal love relationship with God that you were made for. We're without God because we've chosen to turn our backs on Him and run our own lives instead of letting Him run them. So the One who has all the meaning, all the love, and all the answers we've looked for our whole life is on the other side of a wall, and that wall is called sin. Thankfully, this "without hope" statement in the Bible is followed by that hopeful word "but." "But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near." Wow! Now, how does that happen? "Through the blood of Christ" it says. So we find ourselves at the same place Rose found herself that night she found hope - at the foot of the cross of Jesus Christ. Why is this shedding of His blood on the cross so important? Because, as the Bible says, "Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness" (Hebrews 9:22). Sin has a death penalty, and a death penalty can only be paid by someone dying. And Jesus did so you don't have to. When you put your total trust in Jesus to be your personal Savior from your personal sin, you're forgiven of every sin. You're guaranteed heaven when you die. You receive His power to change what you've never been able to change. It doesn't have to be the way it's always been. Hope is born when you follow the light of God to the cross of Jesus. And that's where He's leading you this very day. It's what our website's all about, and that's why I want to ask you to go there. Let this be your hope destination today - ANewStory.com. Hope is in the shape of a cross. And hope is born for you when you come to that cross and you say these two words that change everything, "For me. It was for me."

Si estás en una etapa de cambios hormonales y sientes que últimamente te cuesta más sentirte ligera, fit y a gusto en tu cuerpo, este episodio es para ti. Quiero compartirte 4 errores que podemos cometer sin darnos cuenta y que pueden hacer esta etapa mucho más difícil. Porque sí, nuestros cuerpos cambian. Sí, nuestras hormonas cambian. Pero hay una gran diferencia entre vivir una etapa de cambios hormonales y convertirlos en la explicación de absolutamente todo lo que nos pasa. Error #1: Convertir esta etapa en tu enemiga. Durante años hemos escuchado que la menopausia es terrible, que después de cierta edad todo cambia y que ya no bajas igual. Sin darnos cuenta podemos llegar a esta etapa con una historia ya escrita. No estoy diciendo que no existan síntomas reales. Claro que existen. Pero además de lo que sucede físicamente, existe la historia con la que lo interpretamos. Tal vez esto no tiene que ser una guerra. Error #2: No darle a la comida su justo valor. Podemos irnos a dos extremos: querer comer perfecto, cero azúcar, cero carbohidratos, todo limpio y controlado; o pensar que da igual lo que comamos porque "son las hormonas". La comida importa, pero no lo es todo. También nos alimentan el descanso, el movimiento, las relaciones, la vida espiritual, el propósito y nuestros pensamientos. La invitación es observarnos, escucharnos y aprender de nuestro cuerpo. Error #3: Culpar a las hormonas de todo. Esta etapa coincide con muchos cambios de vida: los hijos crecen, nuestros padres envejecen, cambian la pareja, el trabajo, las prioridades y la rutina. Todo eso también nos afecta. Tal vez sí hay un componente hormonal, pero también puede haber estrés, falta de sueño, más alcohol o demasiadas cosas pasando al mismo tiempo. En lugar de meterlo todo en la bolsa de "menopausia", separa. ¿Qué está pasando realmente? ¿Qué parte es física? ¿Qué parte tiene que ver con tu estilo de vida? ¿Qué sí puedes atender? Error #4: Aguantar tus síntomas en lugar de atenderlos. Aceptar que tu cuerpo cambia no significa resignarte a sentirte mal. Atiende síntoma por síntoma. Si son bochornos, atiéndelos. Si es el sueño, atiéndelo. Si necesitas evaluación médica, haz tu cita, pregunta, da seguimiento, prueba lo que tú y tus profesionales consideren adecuado para ti, observa y ajusta. Yo misma he visto que cuando estoy especialmente estresada, consumo más alcohol de lo habitual o duermo tarde, noto diferencias en cómo me siento. Entonces cuido esas áreas desde la observación, no desde el miedo. Y quiero ser muy clara: nada de esto sustituye tus visitas al médico ni el acompañamiento de profesionales de la salud. Benditos médicos. Haz tus revisiones, pregunta, infórmate y sigue el tratamiento que consideres adecuado junto con profesionales en quienes confíes. Pero hay una parte que le corresponde a tus médicos y otra parte que ningún médico puede hacer por ti: observar qué te estás diciendo, cómo te relacionas con tu cuerpo, escuchar tu hambre, dormir, poner límites, trabajar tus pensamientos y atender tu estrés, tus relaciones, tu movimiento y tu alimentación. Esa parte te toca a ti. Y eso significa que hay mucho que sí está en tus manos. No necesitas pelear contra tus hormonas. Necesitas aprender a acompañar al cuerpo que tienes hoy, conocerlo, escucharlo, atenderlo y seguir creando tu mejor versión desde la mujer que eres hoy. Jesus is serious about forgiveness. He gave his very life to forgive you. And … he asks you to forgive every other soul who has hurt or offended you. Yes, everyone for everything. Now I don’t know, but maybe that’s a nearly impossible task. Forgiving them – what? They aren’t even sorry. Why should you offer them forgiveness? If for absolutely no other reason, because of this – JESUS SAYS TO. And if Jesus says to forgive, then it’s for a good purpose and you can trust him. Jesus teaches this lesson in another parable and this story makes it very clear the torment we subject ourselves to when we withhold the very forgiveness we have received. Matthew 18: 21-35: Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!” Therefore, the Kingdom of Heaven can be compared to a king who decided to bring his accounts up to date with servants who had borrowed money from him. In the process, one of his debtors was brought in who owed him millions of dollars. He couldn't pay, so his master ordered that he be sold—along with his wife, his children, and everything he owned—to pay the debt. But the man fell down before his master and begged him, ‘Please, be patient with me, and I will pay it all.' Then his master was filled with pity for him, and he released him and forgave his debt. But when the man left the king, he went to a fellow servant who owed him a few thousand dollars. He grabbed him by the throat and demanded instant payment. His fellow servant fell down before him and begged for a little more time. ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it,' he pleaded. But his creditor wouldn't wait. He had the man arrested and put in prison until the debt could be paid in full. When some of the other servants saw this, they were very upset. They went to the king and told him everything that had happened. Then the king called in the man he had forgiven and said, ‘You evil servant! I forgave you that tremendous debt because you pleaded with me. Shouldn't you have mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you?' Then the angry king sent the man to prison to be tortured until he had paid his entire debt. That's what my heavenly Father will do to you if you refuse to forgive your brothers and sisters from your heart. To begin, understand the bar Jesus is setting on how many times you should forgive someone for their sins against you. By Jewish law, you should forgive 3 times. So, when Peter suggest forgiving 7 times, he’s being generous. Then Jesus comes back with a number that doesn’t even make sense – “No, not 7 times, but 70 times 7.” Here’s what that means – that means every limit you’ve had on forgiveness is blown out of the water and there’s zero use in keeping score here. You forgive over and over and over again. This is supernatural forgiveness. This is a level of peace making within your heart that is beyond you. For this, you will need Jesus! Remember, you are a girl who has been forgiven of much. You have no right to turn around and withhold forgiveness from someone else. The first servant owed the King millions of dollars. This man had no possible way to repay his debt. No matter how much time the king granted, there was still no way for him to pay it back. Knowing this, the King had compassion and showed his servant mercy, forgiving his debt completely. This man’s weight had been lifted. He walked in full forgiveness for his very large debt. But, he refused to offer that forgiveness to one of his own servants who owed him far less. When his servant begged him for more time to pay, the forgiven man refused to offer forgiveness and ordered his servant to be thrown into prison. When the King hears of this, he says to the man, “I forgave you of your tremendous debt. Shouldn’t you have mercy on your fellow servant just as I had mercy on you?” Here’s the problem – so many of us forget the mercy God has shown us. In our own little world, we’ve somehow convinced ourselves we’re good enough for our perfect and holy God on our own. Girl, you and I have fallen so miserably short! We have zero right to the forgiveness we walk in. One of our sins disqualifies us from Heaven, let alone the piling of our sins. Isaiah 53: 5-6, “He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.” Yes, girl, your sin was absolutely unbearable. You were not good enough. You were disqualified. That’s precisely the reason Jesus gave his life for you. Now, Jesus requires that forgiveness to flow through you. What happens if you hold on to bitterness, anger, and resentment because of what someone else did to you? Well, Jesus is actually quite clear here – You will be tortured. This is serious. You need to understand what unforgiveness does to your heart and your mind – it brings torment. But you already know that, don’t you? If you just can’t forgive them for what they did, you have felt that torment. It’s been eating away at you. You can’t find peace. You’re continually upset and wrestling with thoughts, reminders and feelings that torment you. And here’s what is truly heartbreaking – you’ve allowed that. Your refusal to forgive has permitted the torment. Of course it’s easy to pull the “unfair” card. What they did to you was unfair. So it’s unfair to ask you to forgive them. Well, here’s what I know – we really don’t want to play the “fair” game. If God judges us from a “fair” standard, we lose. If God does to me what’s fair, then I don’t get his grace and mercy. If I get justice, then I get eternal punishment. No Lord, please don’t give me justice – give me mercy. As the recipient of his unfair mercy, I’m out of playing the “fair” game. It doesn’t have to be fair. Is unforgiveness a sin? Yes – it is. Jesus says in Matthew 6: 14-15, “If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.” That’s clear. If you hold on to unforgiveness, you will be walking around with the weight of your own sin. Here’s the warning in scripture that should scare the bejesus out of you if you dare hold on to unforgiveness, therefore bearing your own sin. Psalm 38: 3-8, “My health is broken because of my SIN. (Unforgiveness is a sin – it will break your health.). My guilt overwhelms me – It is a burden too heavy to bear. My wounds fester and stink because of my foolish sins. I am bent over and racked with pain. All day long I walk around filled with grief. A raging fever burns within me, and my health is broken. I am exhausted and completely crushed. My groans come from an anguished heart.” Where is this exhaustion, sickness and crushing feeling coming from? SIN. What is a sin we often hold on to out of hurt because something wasn’t fair – UNFORGIVENESS. And it’s tormenting us!!!!!! Unoforgiveness is sin and allows torment in our body and mind. Read Jesus’ warning in the parable again – “Shouldn’t you have mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you? Then the angry king sent the man to prison to be TORTURED until he had paid his entire debt. That’s what my heavenly Father will do to you if you REFUSE TO FORGIVE your brothers and sisters from your heart.” The king turned him over to the torturers. Do you realize there are demons from Hell with the assignment of torturing the hearts and minds of those who hold on to unforgiveness? Peace and healing from that torment can only be found one way – FORGIVING THE ONE WHO IS SO HARD FOR YOU TO FORGIVE. My friend, I pray you don’t allow this torment to continue in your life. You don’t have to carry this anymore. You don’t have to keep replaying what they did, rehearsing what you wish you had said, or carrying anger into every new day. Jesus is inviting you to lay it down. And maybe you’re thinking, “But I can’t forgive them.” You’re right. You can’t—not in your own strength. This kind of forgiveness is supernatural. So don’t start by asking yourself, “How can I possibly forgive them?” Start by asking Jesus, “Will You help me forgive them?” Bring Him the betrayal. Bring Him the injustice. Bring Him the anger. Bring Him the memories that still hurt. Bring Him the part of you that doesn’t want to let go. And then surrender it to the One who has already surrendered everything for you. You may never get an apology. You may never get an explanation. They may never understand what they did to you. Forgiveness doesn’t make what happened okay. It doesn’t erase the consequences. It doesn’t require you to trust someone who has proven untrustworthy. Forgiveness simply releases your right to keep carrying the debt. You are handing their debt over to the King. And remember this: you were carrying a debt you could never pay, and Jesus paid it for you. You have been forgiven. You have been shown mercy. You have been set free. So now, let that same mercy flow through you. Today, you can say, “Jesus, I forgive them. Not because what they did was okay. Not because they deserve it. Not because I feel like it. I forgive because You have forgiven me. I release them to You. I release the debt. I release the anger. I release the right to make them pay. And I ask You to heal what they broke in me.” And when you do that, something changes. The prison door doesn’t just open for them. It opens for you. Because forgiveness isn’t saying, “What you did didn’t hurt me.” Forgiveness is saying, “What you did will not own me anymore.” That’s the freedom Jesus died to give you. So, girl, let it go. Not because it was little. But because Jesus is bigger. Not because they deserve your forgiveness. But because you have received His. And not because forgiveness is easy—but because freedom is worth it. The truth about sin is that it reveals our nakedness, but a sacrifice must be had in order for us to be covered.
