The USC Triple-Double Podcast -- the Peristyle Podcast's basketball-focused podcast -- returns with co-hosts Shotgun Spratling and Connor Morrissette (aka Mr. Triple Double) breaking down the latest news and notes surrounding the USC men's and women's basketball programs, including JuJu Watkins announcing that she will redshirt this season to focus on her recovery and rehab from a torn ACL and a banged and bruised men's team practicing without its three top players. The podcasting duo are also joined by 6-foot-9 Samford transfer Jaden Brownell, who talks about how his basketball journey has taken him from Salt Lake City to Chicago to Birmingham and now back to the West in Los Angeles. He discusses how the preseason practices have been going for the Trojans and what he needs to do to earn minutes on a roster that has a unique blend of big men. Brownell talks about his relationship with Musselman and how different the practices have been at USC compared to Brownell's previous collegiate stops. He also discusses how he has adjusted to life in Los Angeles as a new husband after getting married a couple months ago and gives his thoughts on who is the team's best bowler. After a break, Shotgun and Connor discuss what has been seen from a couple of recent practices, including one where the Trojans ended up down four players by the end of the session. The podcasters then discuss what the Women of Troy will look like this season without Watkins, especially with a challenging schedule expected. Hey friends! I'm so delighted to be back with another episode of the podcast, this time with a very longtime friend of mine: Dr. Jenn Salib Huber. Dr. Jenn is a Canadian Registered Dietitian, Naturopathic Doctor and Intuitive Eating Counselor on a mission to help women manage menopause without diets and food rules. She supports women through the physical and emotional shifts of perimenopause and menopause using a Health at Every Size approach, intuitive eating, and practical nutrition. Jenn hosts The Midlife Feast podcast and community, and is the author of the upcoming book Eat to Thrive During Menopause, out October 21, 2025. I first met Jenn over a decade ago, when she supported me and my family with some really scary food allergies that my kiddos were having. Our paths crossed again as I began writing Project Body Love, exploring my relationship with my body and, specifically, intuitive eating and the concept of health at every size. In more recent years, Jenn has supported me as I've been transitioning through perimenopause. I couldn't be happier to be sharing Jenn's wisdom with you today! Here's some of what we talk about: > We both share our somewhat hilarious stories of how we each realized we were in perimenopause – and then of course what happened for each of us afterward. > Why we know so little about the complex process of peri/menopause, why so many of us are surprised by our symptoms, and how Gen X and Millenial women are doing things differently, redefining the experience and demanding more information and better care. > The symptoms of perimenopause that no one expects, and that seemingly have nothing to do with perimenopause at all! Jenn explains the "hormone soup" that exists in our body during this time, and how it has far-reaching impacts well beyond hot flashes and crime scene periods. > How our relationships with our bodies change during this transformational time in our lives – how many of us are confronted with the body and health changes associated with aging and the reality that we can't always control what happens to our health. > The potential that peri/menopause has to catalyze us to break up with Diet Culture for good and find joy and pleasure in food and movement. We talk about the power and possibility that can reveal itself to us when we see this time as a rite of passage in our lives. Jenn leaves us with the question: how can midlife be a feast? I hope you love this interview as much as I did! Show Notes Jenn's book, Eat to Thrive During Menopause, comes out October 21st Pre-order the book and get some sweet bonus recipes! Jenn's website The Midlife Feast community - highly recommend! Jenn's amazing instagram page – seriously, it's such a wealth of tangible, shareable knowledge here! A coach once told me to stop pushing, and that single moment flipped everything I thought I knew about progress. Surrender shifted my energy, my business, and my life in ways I couldn't have forced if I tried. You'll hear how this same pattern shows up in my clients through rumination, overwhelm, and self-doubt, and why it always ties back to trust. I also share simple practices to move out of force and into flow, so life can finally start working with you instead of against you. You'll Learn:What purging and surging really means and why this cycle becomes a slippery slopeHow it shows up through rumination, analysis paralysis, and confirmation biasThe symptoms it creates, from anxiety and stress to overwhelm, low-vibration feelings, obstacles, and lack of trust in yourself and the worldWhat shifts when you stop forcing outcomes and allow yourself to just beHow awareness, trust, synchronicity, and openness to new ideas create more calm, peace, gratitude, and authenticitySimple methods to move from pushing to surrendering, including checking your alignment, exploring the roots of beliefs and coping patterns, and nervous system retraining when neededA powerful practice of asking for divine help and why you'll get tested by your choices and thoughts along the wayTimestamps:[00:00] Introduction[05:41] The moment my coach told me to stop pushing[07:45] How surrender changed my energy, alignment, and flow[10:36] The cycle of purging and surging explained[14:54] Symptoms of pushing: anxiety, overwhelm, and lack of trust[18:34] What happens when we just be and allow life to unfold[27:08] Simple methods to shift from pushing to surrenderResources Mentioned:The Surrender Experiment by Michael A. Transitions are inevitable. Whether it's becoming a parent, shifting careers, retiring, or simply navigating unexpected change. But why do transitions feel so unsettling, and how can we meet them with more self-compassion and patience? In this episode of Grow the Good, I sit down with my friend and fellow MAPP grad, Ilene Schaffer, to explore the psychology of transitions. With more than 25 years of experience in counseling psychology, Ilene shares her wisdom on navigating endings, sitting with uncertainty in the “neutral zone,” and creating intentional new beginnings. We talk about what it means to let go of old identities, how to clarify your non-negotiables, and why patience and self-compassion are the keys to moving through life's changes with resilience.Top 5 Takeaways:Self-compassion is essential in transitions, whether the change is chosen or not.The “neutral zone” between endings and beginnings is where reflection and growth take place.Defining non-negotiables helps guide decisions during uncertain times.Patience is vital; most transitions take 6–9 months to fully adjust.Fulfillment isn't about balance, it's about intentional choices aligned with your values.Tune in to learn more from Ilene, and hopefully, approach your next transition with a little bit more ease. --------------The Grow the Good Podcast is produced by Palm Tree Pod Co.

Do you ever feel like you're running on fumes? Too exhausted, busy, and overwhelmed to even think about how you're showing up as a leader? In this episode of The Inner Edge, Janet Ioli explores why your leadership presence isn't something to “get to later,” but rather the very thing that transforms how you spend your time, your energy, and your life.Through a powerful story from a recent executive program, Janet shares the all-too-familiar refrain of leaders who feel “too tired to focus on presence.” Then she flips that thinking on its head, showing why you're actually too tired not to. Today on the podcast, I'm talking with my friend David Ridley-Parris, a coach who helps people navigate life's biggest transitions and design careers that truly align with their identity. After years on Wall Street and in Silicon Valley, David left the corporate grind for a slower-paced life in Portugal and a new calling in grief coaching. In this episode, he shares how personal loss shaped his path, why grief coaching is about envisioning the future, and how AI, group coaching, and community are transforming his practice.
What happens when we stand at the threshold of transformation, no longer who we once were but not yet who we're becoming? Dr. BethAnne Kapansky Wright guides us through this sacred liminal space, sharing powerful passages from her book "Transformations of the Sun" that illuminate the courage required to embrace change.Key talking points include: • Reading from the poem "In Between" about no longer being the person you used to be while not yet becoming who you're stepping into• Personal story of leaving Alaska for Kauai and the emotional challenge of following soul guidance others couldn't understand• Exploration of "the wild unknown" - that spiritual wilderness where we must learn to trust our internal compass• Discussion of how initial certainty in decision-making often gives way to doubt when transformation becomes uncomfortable• Reflections on how our souls rejoice in the struggle even when our human minds resist change• Importance of having small anchors during change while still surrendering to the deeper processThe true gift of this episode lies in Dr. BethAnn's gentle reminder that transformation necessarily involves discomfort. When we follow a soul calling, we often experience initial certainty that later gives way to doubt and questioning. Yet it's precisely in this grappling that we discover unexpected strengths and access deeper wisdom. As she beautifully expresses through her poem "Submergence," we must allow ourselves to unravel before we can "knit ourselves back into new shapes and hue." The invitation is clear: can we trust our internal compass when external validation fails? Can we surrender to the "river beneath the river" and allow our soul's alchemy to unfold at its own perfect pace? Join Dr. BethAnn in this intimate exploration of what it truly means to trust the process of becoming who we're meant to be.--Your Heart Magic is a space where heart wisdom, spirituality, and psychology meet. There is something magical about technology which allows us to connect over thousands of miles as if we were in the same room. In this episode I chat with Marcia Werner about her adventures in moving her family from the U.S. to France. We had a delightful chat about Marcia's life journey, including her career transitions from real estate to coaching and her recent move to France with her family. We talked about Marcia's personal motivations and experiences, particularly focusing on her approach to change and her coaching practice that helps others navigate life transitions. We also talked about the conditions which caused Marcia and her husband to consider moving their family from Florida where their kids experienced safety concerns no kids should have to endure to France, where their 5-year-old can walk to school without any fear. I was inspired by our conversation to remember to actually take action toward what you truly desire, even if others in your space might not be able to imagine doing the same. If you'd like to connect with Marcia about coaching, please look her up at her website, MarciaWerner.com.

Send me a text!Honoring menopause as a life stage, not just a phase to get through acknowledges the weight of this transition. We live in a society that hasn't given much room to understanding women's bodies. While there is more information now than before, there are still large gaps in support for the physical, mental, and emotional experience of menopause. Too often, women don't even begin to ask for information until we are already experiencing the challenges of shifting hormones. We turn to managing symptoms instead of caring for this pivotal transition. In this episode of Mindset Unlimited, I invited Marelda Rodrigues to join me in a conversation about honoring menopause as a life stage and yourself as deserving of care.
