On todays Show James, Dwayne, Sarah and Glenn (Charlotte was on a Special Mission MK-ULTRA RELATED) talk about, a conspiracy theory involving the death of Mike Lynch, the former CEO of Autonomy, a software company acquired by Hewlett-Packard (HP) for $11 billion in 2011. Lynch was later acquitted of fraud charges in 2024. The group discusses the mysterious sinking of Lynch's yacht, which occurred three days after the acquittal, attributing it to a waterspout. They speculate on potential motives, including financial repercussions from the HP acquisition and the involvement of Italian bankers. The conversation also touches on the acquittal of Lynch's COO, Stephen Chamberlain, and the death of a pedestrian hit by a car three days before the yacht incident. DO NOT MISS IT!
On this episode, we delve into the shocking sinking of Mike Lynch's 184-foot yacht off the coast of Sicily, Italy—a disaster that saw the massive vessel vanish beneath the waves in just two minutes. This incident occurred only days after Lynch's co-defendant, Stephen Chamberlain, tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run while jogging. Both men were embroiled in a high-profile case involving Hewlett-Packard (HP), which accused Lynch's company, Autonomy, of an $11 billion overvaluation fraud. Was the rapid sinking of the yacht and the mysterious hit-and-run death of Chamberlain mere coincidences, or is there a darker, more conspiratorial thread connecting these events?Download the Spreaker APP!

Japan's Top Business Interviews Podcast By Dale Carnegie Training Tokyo, Japan
Tomo Hasegawa is a second-generation Japanese-American with extensive leadership experience in the global medical and pharmaceutical industry. After he graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with an Electrical Engineering degree, Mr. Hasegawa joined Hewlett Packard (HP) as a Project Manager and Engineer where he helped design ultrasound devices that HP was creating at the time. When HP was struggling to survive the competitive market in Japan, Mr. Hasegawa was assigned from the US to work for HP Japan Medical (later became Agilent) to help turn around the business. He was originally hired to assist with marketing and sales of roughly 50+ people. Eventually, Agilent was acquired by Phillips and Mr. Hasegawa became the General Manager of the cardiac ultrasound business in Japan. After three years, Mr. Hasegawa was headhunted by Sonosite Japan, a company specializing in portable ultrasound devices. Mr. Hasegawa then began working at Sandoz Japan, a multi-national pharmaceutical company, and most recently, joined Medline Industries Japan office as their president. Mr. Hasegawa says HP's people-centric approach in business was what made the company so successful, and he has taken on this leadership approach throughout his career. He explains: “[As leaders] we were told to just do two things...first, set the direction and second, get things out of the way for your people.” During the early 2000s, a rival company had headhunted many of the leadership staff from HP, which caused many challenges. Mr. Hasegawa initially struggled with the challenge of leading an organization with a strong competitor, on top of the fact that he had no experience in doing business in Japan in Japanese. Yet he eventually came to realize that the customers care much more about the product and wanted to hear about the technical details, which Mr. Hasegawa as an engineer had thorough knowledge of. Within his team, Mr. Hasegawa's knowledge and active listening skills helped him build trust and credibility. At Sonosite Japan, Mr. Hasegawa joined just as the company had set up a subsidy from Olympus, which grew to 15 people within a year. Mr. Hasegawa helped take the company from a distribution model to a direct sales model and exceeded set targets. After a successful four years at Sonosite, Mr. Hasegawa was offered a position at Toshiba in the US to lead their ultrasound business. There, Mr. Hasegawa was tasked with bringing an ultrasound device to the commercial side. Mr. Hasegawa's felt Toshiba had “made it” in the US when he was approached by salespeople from General Electric (GE) who joined Toshiba, and are still with the company. Mr. Hasegawa then joined Sandoz Japan after completing an MBA at the University of Washington – Michael G. Foster School Of Business. This was Mr. Hasegawa's first experience in the pharmaceutical industry, leading an organization of approximately 300+ people. Mr. Hasegawa found it challenging to be in a competitive market trying to sell a product that was similar to many other rival companies. He explains that because the company was trying to make a cultural transition yet at the same time not agreeing on how to make the change, maintaining transparent communication was a challenge. Mr. Hasegawa recalls his years at Sandoz as a challenge but also a time of tremendous growth and learning. He explains: “I remember my boss telling me I don't care about your opinion and it's like, okay, great. So, what do you care about? And he explained to me it's facts, insight, and then action. That's what we pay you for…not the, this is what my gut is telling me…Right, the insight is why we are human beings running a business. Otherwise, you can have a computer run the business for you.” Finally, Mr. Hasegawa joined Medline, a medical product manufacturing and distribution company, which he calls the biggest company people have never heard of. The secret of Medline is, according to Mr. Hasegawa, despite its grand scale, it is run like a start-up – the organization is agile, bureaucracy-free, and focused on the genba (field). Mr. Hasegawa led the Japan branch of 400 people. At Medline too, Mr. Hasegawa practiced the leadership approach he developed at HP by setting the direction and leading by example. From customizing products to suit Japanese customers to building a warehouse in Japan, Mr. Hasegawa says such leadership activities allowed him to build trust from his team as well as customers who felt listened to. Mr. Hasegawa has built a yattemiyo (let's just do it) spirit within the company culture, which he believes has given the organization more innovation.

This week's guests on The WTiN Podcast are sales and marketing director Neil Green and technical director Paul Geldenhuys from NUtec Digital Ink. Based in South Africa, the company began its journey in 1995, when it was an early ink manufacturer for airbrush printers used for commercial printing. The company's name and focus has since changed a couple of times after being acquired by Scitex Vision in 2001 and Hewlett Packard (HP) in 2005. Eventually, the original founders of the company created NUtec Digital Ink which now develops and manufactures digital printing inks for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and distributors for the global market. In this podcast, Green and Geldenhuys talk about the company's interesting history, the different inks it offers and the benefits and limitations to each. They discuss the company's latest products, the different markets it serves and how R&D continually focuses on sustainability and water-based inks. What's more, the pair talk about how Covid-19 was ‘disastrous' for the company for the first few months, but how they believe digital printing and inks has a bright and promising future. In part two of our episode on the partnership between Hewlett Packard (HP) and GBS, Bill Hahn and Vince Ingles continue their discussion on the nearly 40-year history of the HP/GBS relationship and some of the newest challenges and innovations facing businesses today.
Hewlett Packard (HP) has been a valued GBS technology partner since the early 1980s. In the first part of this two-part episode, Bill Hahn, HP Partner Business Manager, joins GBS Account Executive Vince Ingles in discussing the history of the HP/GBS partnership, the customized technology solutions crafted for clients, the newest HP product innovations, and the challenges that manufacturers and end users are facing in the current marketplace.
Technology company Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is set to relocate its headquarters from San Jose, California, to Houston, Texas, by 2022. In a statement, the company said that it chose to move to Houston due to the city's diverse talents. Relocating to Texas will also save the company money because the cost of real estate and talent acquisition there is more affordable and less competitive compared to California. HPE added that it will still keep its San Jose office, where some of its San Francisco Bay area sites will be consolidated. According to the company, the move will not result in any employee layoffs. HPE's relocation from California is notable because the company was one of the founders of Silicon Valley, the world's major technology and startup hub. It is home to around 2,000 tech companies, many of which are industry leaders. Before it became HPE, the company was first known as Hewlett-Packard (HP). It was founded by business partners William Hewlett and Dave Packard in 1939. HP created its first product, a device used to test audio equipment, in the same year. In 2015, HP split into HP Inc., which manufactures printers, laptops, and personal computers, and HPE. While HPE is the most notable company to move its headquarters from Silicon Valley, it is far from the only one. Data analytics software firm Palantir Technologies and cybersecurity firm Tanium have also left the area. Many companies have explained that the switch to remote work led them to move to states with lower costs of living, as employees are no longer required to go to their offices.

She recently launched YAP Media, a full-service podcast production and marketing agency for top podcasters, celebrities and CEOs projected to generate over $2M in revenue in its first year. Hala is also known for her engaged following and influence on LinkedIn. “It’s always great to evolve your dream.” Hala Taha Worst investment everHala is a natural-born leader. So it was no surprise that when she joined Hewlett-Packard (HP) as an intern, she was burning to take on some leadership role. Previous to joining HP, Hala was the CEO of a company of 50 girls. She also was the President of her Alumni Association. Jumping heart in into a leadership opportunityHala saw an opportunity to start the young employee network chapter in New Jersey, where she was stationed. She went around the office, got signatures, and started the network from scratch. At the time, Hala’s company office had no culture. She went in there and infused everything with culture. She started the company holiday party and did a fantastic company summer picnic every year, which the company still does. Putting her soul into itHala put a lot of time into the young employee network. She would work full time during the day, and then at night, she would be working on the young employee network. She was so passionate about it and loved being a leader. Getting the recognitionHala quickly became the face of the young employee network. She was the President of her chapter for two years. Her hard work at the network got her great visibility with the CEO. Going higherHala wanted to keep growing and take her leadership skills to the next level. The next logical phase for her was the global young employee network. Here, the leaders from all the chapters around the world run all of the young employee networks and set the global strategy. Hala had her foot in the door as the recruitment director for the young employee network globally. She took advantage of this role and started a global event for Hewlett-Packard called HP Spirit Week. This is a week-long themed event. It became a huge event that they still do. The letdownStarting this event made Hala stand out in the entire company. All her peers agreed she was doing the President’s job. In her fourth year in the young employee network, she vied to be President. She had earned it. Hala had done everything right. She was President of her chapter for two years; she did the HP Spirit Week and knocked that out of the park. She had like 50 people that wanted her to be president record video nominations. Her board wanted her to be President. But the ultimate decision-maker was this lady who was the HR director, and she didn’t like Hala. When it was time for Hala to become President, she gave it to somebody else who had zero experience. Hala was crushed. She was so confused. She had put in almost four years, that she could have worked on a side hustle, into this young employee network thing. Hala felt so devastated to have made her worst investment ever by investing all her time into something she was never rewarded for. She left HP and went to Disney after that because she felt burned. Lessons learnedInvest your time in an asset that you ownInvest your time in something that you can take with you wherever you go, no matter what job you’re in and where you are in life. Do this instead of investing in a company that you will leave behind. You’ll always have your brandYour brand never leaves you, your network never leaves you, but your job can leave you at any time. Ira Pastor, ideaXme life sciences ambassador, interviews Sridhar Solur, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Chief Product Engineer at the Shark Ninja Operating Company. Ira Pastor Comments So as we continue upon the themes of healthy aging and human enhancement, a principle that we’ve touched on of “Aging in Place”, a concept whereby older people are able to continue live in their own homes as they age despite changes to their health and mobility, various smart technologies and the Internet of Things (IoT), have the potential to play a significant role in enabling older people to do so. As populations across the globe are getting older and living longer, the world life expectancy index is projected to further increase over the coming decades, and there is considerable evidence that 1) older adults prefer to live independently at home as they age, rather than enter aged care facilities, and that 2) there are major economic benefits of supporting older adults to remain in their own homes and communities as opposed to costly option of institutional care. Sridhar Solur: Mr. Sridhar Solurhas more than 25 years of experience in corporate venturing, strategy, and product development, is an intrapreneur, technologist, and business leader specializing in robotics, IoT, mobile tech, and AI based industry/products, and has a core interest in "humanizing" interactions with technologies like voice and deep Learning, as well as blockchain applications. Most recently, Mr. Solur was Executive Vice President and General Manager/Chief Product Engineer, the Shark Ninja Operating Company, an innovation leader in the housewares industry, where he was head of all products under the Shark and Ninja brands includinhg robots, food-tech and appliances. Mr. Solur led all software development for connected devices/IOT, including cloud services and apps, and oversaw the creation of two advanced navigation robots with AI in the app, cloud and the robot, known as The Shark IQ Robot. Prior to that, Mr. Solur was Senior Vice President of Product Development for Xfinity Home and Internet of Things (IoT) for Comcast Cable (the American telecommunications conglomerate headquartered in Philadelphia which is the second-largest broadcasting and cable television company), leading their strategic development of products for the Xfinity Home business, from concept to creation, including devices and services in the IoT, home automation, and home security categories. Mr. Solur joined Comcast from Hewlett Packard (HP), where he was the founder and general manager of the company’s wearables and IoT business, as well as the founder and world wide director of HP’s cloud and mobile printing business, called the Mobile/IOT Incubator. There he created 'Engineered by HP' as a sub brand, supporting Wearables/IOT products for consumer lifestyle brands like Hugo Boss, Coach, Titan, Ferrari, and Movado. Over the years, Mr. Solur established several patents on media delivery, location based services, and cloud connected objects. In addition, he is on the advisory board of several startups and a mentor to 500 Startups, Alchemist Enterprise accelerator, and RIVER- Virtual Reality Incubator. Mr. Solur holds a Master of Business Administration from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Engineering in electrical engineering from the National Institute of Technology in India. On this episode we will hear from Mr. Solur: About his background; where he grew up, how he developed an interest in IT and tech, and how he rose through the upper echelon of some of the world's largest tech companies. An overview of The Internet of things (IoT) as it pertains to the concept of the "smart home" and various consumer use applications, including, home automation, wearable technology, connected health, and appliances with remote monitoring capabilities. An overview of the IoT related to the themes of elder care, the Internet of medical things (IoMT) and "Smart Healthcare” for creating a digitized healthcare system, connecting available medical resources and healthcare services. His views on the future of medical robots in an era of COVID-19. His views on AI, bionics, and transhumanism. Credits: Ira Pastor interview video, text, and audio. In this podcast series, I have used the current Broadway performance by Glenda Jackson as King Lear to introduce several compliance topics. Today, I want to discuss the role of The Fool. Initially I should note that the actor who played it, Ruth Wilson, also played Cordelia; which in and off itself is rather amazing. The Fool did well to speak truth to power during the play and Wilson was excellent in both roles. Wilson’s performance as The Fool added a shading of interpretation that certainly works. It also informs today’s review topic which is who was the fool and who was the criminal in one of the most nortorious acquistions in recent memory, the Hewlett-Packard (HP) acquisition of the UK company Autonomy. The matter is now on trial in London, it being the largest UK civil trial in history with HP claiming some $5 billion in damages. The former Autonomy CEO Mike Lynch is in the dock as he will be in the US when his criminal case goes to trial sometime after the conclusion of this civil action. The trial began last month and the fireworks have already started, with HP claiming Lynch and his former CFO engaged in massive fraud; the trial judge asking HP what accounting standards they used to evaluate HP and Lynch basically saying HP dropped the ball completely in both the acquisition and after closing for a variety of reason. Based upon all of this tomfoolery I thought a review of HP actions was warranted today. Perhaps the simple truth is that everyone involved in this matter was a Fool. Learn more about your ad choices. The HP Series 80 (HP83/85/86/87) This episode is the third and final in a series about the Hewlett Packard HP-85 computer, or more accurately, the entire line of similar computers known as the HP Series 80. Once again, I have the tremendously knowledgeable duo of Everett Kaser and Vassilis Prevelakis helping me impart information to you about that venerable line of historically significant desktop computers. In this episode, we will primarily be covering tech specs, peripherals, expansion, magazines and newletters, books, emulation, modern upgrades, connectivity to modern computers, buying one today, community and Web sites. Wow, now that I list this out, it’s obvious we have a lot to cover. In addition, I will briefly talk about my new vintage computer acquisitions, feedback and perhaps a little news. Hello, all, and welcome to the next installment of the podcast that says “vintage electronics: I WANT IT”. I’m Randy Kindig and I’m your host. This episode is the first of a 2-parter on the Hewlett Packard HP-41 line of programmable calculators. The HP-41 is a seminal example of programmable calculators from the late 70’s and into the 80’s and is still very desirable and sought after today. I was lucky enough to find 2 gentlemen to co-host who are well-known among the active HP calculator community that exists today: Richard J. Nelson, who has written, edited, and published as much HP-41 material as anyone ever. And Gene Wright who is on the HP Handheld Conference Committee and he was a TI fan before becoming “hooked” on the HP-41. In this first part on the HP-41, I interview the co-hosts and then we cover the history of the calculator line in detail. Next month, with the same co-hosts, we will cover Web sites, emulation, software, and much more. To start out, as usual, I will cover my new vintage computer acquisitions, a little news, and some feedback. I hope you enjoy this and please let me know what you think.
