Joining us this episode to discuss the highs and lows of parenting (and life) is Leanne Quigley. Leanne was the winner of the latest series of The Traitors UK 2025 and ambassador for Cancer Research UK. **TRIGGER WARNING** This episode contains discussions of IVF, C-sections and premature childbirth. Leanne is swapping the round table for the turn table as she takes on her next big challenge of running this year's Race for Life to raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK, a disease close to her heart. This campaign is deeply personal; in July 2024, just before she filmed The Traitors, Sophie Jones, Leanne's fiancée was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. Through every step of Sophie's treatment, Leanne stood by her side, and now, after Sophie's all-clear in January, the couple are celebrating with a wedding on the horizon. The former soldier and mum to two-year-old twin boys discusses parenting, her Race for Life challenge, the impact of cancer on her family, her time on The Traitors, and her plans for the future! Sophie Jones is the new CEO of the British Wireless for the Blind Fund. Our David Hogg spoke to her about her new role and her plans for the organisation…
This week, we are chatting with @the_sophie.jones! Sophie and I met here on IG, and we hit it off immediately. Sophie helps high achievers to cultivate success from within. She has built several very successful businesses and she truly knows what it takes to create a lifestyle that aligns with your zone of genius to build wealth. Did you have a learning disability hold you back when you were younger? Or change the way you thought about yourself? @the_sophie.jones and I started on this topic on our first call together. We realized we both had similar experiences when it came to experiencing our learning disabilities. After being moved to a different room while in school, I felt like learning wasn't really the focus but I still had to push through the day to be seen as “smart.” But really what we had discovered while connecting was that pieces of our experience and our diagnosis actually helped us because we were able to push through all of the criticism. What most people don't know about learning disabilities, unless they have one, is that you are told over and over again the way you are perceiving something - math, reading, spelling, etc. - is wrong to modern society. That there is a right from wrong and we simply did most of it “wrong” and we didn't fit. But what this did was actually help us. Me, as a highly sensitive person, it was really hard to hear this over and over again as a child. Then I realized, ‘okay well I'll just ask for help. I will use my tools and people around me to change the narrative.' And that's what I did - it created resilience for me. Now when I am told no, it stings less because I was told no a lot growing up. Which differently gave me a leg up into understanding that maybe what I was experiencing wasn't wrong, it was just different. And if over time I could articulate it better, maybe the way I saw the world would eventually start to become more right or true. And that is exactly what happened. Learn more about your ad choices. How are you feeling right now, as a business owner? Do any of these resonate with you right now? “There has to be more to success than just money” “Owning my own business can be lonely - I miss the support I had when I worked at my regular job” “I'm showing up and doing all the things but feeling unfulfilled” “I've had some great achievements but they've come at a price” “I'm not sure I can sustain where I'm at in my business, let alone go to the next level. You're the heart & soul, the engine of your business, so there needs to be more to it than just leads, sales, and profits if you're going to feel a sense of fulfilment from it.
The PACE Radio Show - Guest: Kaylee and Nick Jones - Hosts: Tamara & AlTonight Kaylee and Nick join us to talk about their daughter Sophie, as they try to raise awareness and help find a solution for their daughter's medication. "Sophie Jones was born with a rare chromosome deletion/abnormalities. Malan Syndrome and CACNA1A causes epilepsy, ataxia, hemiplegic migraines, autism, anxiety, low muscle tone and many other challenges she has to face daily. Sophie uses a wheelchair and walker to get around, she is nonverbal but very vocal and loves to use the eye gaze/touch screen technology to communicate. She is a happy go lucky girl that loves wiping wheelies, donuts, spinning fast in her swing. Loves scaring her parents by going as fast as she can and listening/dancing to music. Sophie's seizures started after her 3rd birthday that came on very strong. Coming in clusters lasting 5 minutes of turning blue in the lips, puking and having tonic-clonic seizures. Longest cluster was up to 45 minutes long and they wouldn't stop until a rescue medication was administered. She tried 3 different medications to help her seizures. Which is all we were told we would be able to do for her. Since her seizures are life threatening. The seizures weren't stopping on clobazam, trileptal and keppra. Having to still administer rescue medication to stop the clusters and traveling by ambulance 2-3 times a week. She also had bad side effects from all the anti-epileptic drugs causing red rash, hives, night terrors, loss of balance and no appetite. Her neurologist let us try CBD oil even though the cost wasn't something we could really afford and he didn't believe it would help. His words were “It could make them worse for her.” But we really thought it would give better results for her over the keto diet since there are more side effects to be had such as ketosis, stress to the kidneys, dangerously low blood sugars, digestive issues and changes in gut health and may increase the risk of early death. Sophie has been on CBD oil for 3 years in December. Her seizures don't come in clusters, are not even a minute long now and her recovery time has improved drastically. We haven't had to use rescue medication or call for an ambulance since March 2020. She has such a better quality of life now. She was sleeping 2 to 3 days to recover and now she is going 2 to 3 days without a nap, is trying to talk more, eats great, sleeps all night. She doesn't need days to recover now and is so much more alert compared to before. Direct Family home support/ disability supports will not cover her medication due to the fact that it is not within their policy because it's not covered under pharmacare. They would pay for every ambulance bill, every anti-epileptic drugs and rescue medication. Each ambulance bill was almost $130 each time and we were going 2 to 3 times a week to get the clusters to stop. Thankfully we had community support with helping cover her medication but unfortunately with her medication costing $567 a month and if we didn't have her youth program it would be $1200 a month. All we want for our strong beautiful girl is a quality of life !We are hoping to either find a solution for her medication long term or make it happen ourselves by starting up a nonprofit grow operation for pedication patients just like Sophie. In the middle of a healthcare and ambulance crisis, keeping Sophie out of hospitals and ambulances isn't just a good plan, it is the only smart, economical, long term plan. The option is there, we just need enough people to do the right thing and give us and other families like us the help our children need to keep them thriving, living the closest to a normal childhood that we can give them. No kid deserves to live in and out of hospitals, especially when the thing that could keep them out is available, just not affordable to any regular middle class family. It's time to end the stigma around this and show everyone how much this is helping our children. We are hoping with the community's support we will fill this petition so Chris Palmer our MLA can present it in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly/Government and for the Health Minister of Nova Scotia to see how much support we would have to make this happen for not just Sophie."Tune In every Wednesday night at 8pm ET / 5pm PST to catch our LIVE show on the PACE Radio Network's Facebook pages, Twitter and our YouTube channel.
Queen, you have GOT to hear this story. Sophie started her coaching business with me in 2020, and quickly scaled to $44k in sales in 90 days which yes is a huge accomplishment, but also why I love her story so much is because it's not just about the money honey, it's that she stepped so powerfully into doing business a completely different way than she'd ever done it before in her prior career as an entrepreneur in real estate. Also quite notably, Sophie has a really deep story as a victim of human trafficking and so naturally a lot of abuse and complexity, and what it has looked like to step out of that and after success but also an enormous amount of stress in real estate to heal, get engaged to the man of her dreams, step into the role of being a step mom, to prioritize traveling, having fun, and always to have an enormous amount of space for herself while also creating an eff yes business that generates cash from the soul. Sophie, like so manny of my clients, is such a beautiful example of what I talk about when I say success need not take 100 years, and it need not come with sacrifice. Especially when you build the business to support YOU and your clients vs you getting dragged around by the business, and when you allow the healing to create the magnetism, and create an empire that is deeply true to you vs a carbon copy of someone else's. This episode is just everything AND super funny. Sophie interviews me in the end on my relationship to business, what my journey has looked like, how I relate to money, how I paced my own growth to stay in alignment and out of comparison, we talk about why I don't believe in failure, and also how detrimental it is when we don't allow ourselves to move forward. This episode is seriously like a coaching session in itself so you get a double whammy! Dive in gorgeous and join us while the Go All In Sale for The Cohort is live before EOD EDT 7/15! Sophie Jones wächst bei den Zeugen Jehovas auf. Der Glaube bestimmt ihr Leben. Als sie keinen Kontakt mehr zu ihrem ausgeschlossenen Vater haben darf, beginnt sie ein Doppelleben.
Inspired by true experiences of grief, girlhood, and growing up, Jessie Barr’s directorial debut SOPHIE JONES provides a stirring portrait of a tumult and uncertainty in the life of a sixteen year old. Stunned by the untimely death of her mother and struggling with the myriad challenges of teendom, Sophie (played with striking immediacy by the director’s cousin Jessica Barr) tries everything she can to feel something again, while holding herself together, in this sensitive, acutely realized, and utterly relatable coming-of-age story. The genesis of SOPHIE JONES came from director’s collaboration with her co-writing cousins Jessica Barr. Exploring the grief and loss associated with losing a parent––in this case, Sophie’s mother. SOPHIE JONES director, co writer and co-producer Jessie Barr joins us for a conversation on directing her first feature with her Jessica in the title role, and how she went about drawing out of her cousin and the remarkable supporting cast the universal elements of a very personal saga, as well as working with renowned filmmaker Nicole Holofcener. This week, we check in with Jessie Barr, director of SOPHIE JONES. We talked to Jessie at the beginning of the pandemic and wanted to chat with her again now that her film is out in the world. Jessie discusses the distribution journey during a pandemic and what she's looking forward to in 2021 (hint: lots of space to daydream). The film is now available on VOD. After our check-in, we re-air our first conversation with Jessie, who talks more about the process of making the film.

Welcome to Friday’s Child the podcast, formally known as Life School ME. When I started Life School back in June 2019 my vision for where I wanted to take the podcast and how it would grow was not 100% clear. I knew I wanted to interview inspiring women and share their stories, but there was no grand plan. And that’s ok. I’m a firm believer in starting before you’re ready! But after falling pregnant with my beautiful daughter Mavia, and deciding to focus on the world of #BumpsandBabies for Series 2, I discovered a new passion for all things related to pregnancy and birth. The things I learnt about the female body and birth during my pregnancy journey have changed me forever and ignited a new found passion and love for this subject matter. So Life School has now been reborn as FRIDAY’S CHILD and during this Series I will be talking to First Time Mums, Childbirth Educators and Industry Experts on all things Motherhood. Whether you’re newly pregnant, a first time Mum or maybe you just want to find out more about the world of babies and Motherhood, I hope you enjoy listening to my wonderful guests and that hopefully you can take away some helpful information and insights. My guest today is Sophie Jones, a qualified Child Development professional and Certified Sleep Consultant with over 20 years of international experience. When working with clients, Sophie adopts a holistic approach to ensure that her support is tailored to your child’s needs and aligns with your own parenting style. Sophie offers home and online consultations and currently works with the wonderful team at Babies & Beyond here in Dubai. Tonight we were reunited, it been over 20 years since we've seen each other. Sophie has been through thick and thin, having gone through Abuse, addiction, prostitution, toxic relationships that involved powerful men in the drug world. Sophie was a top Real estate agent with Keller Williams, very successful. Then realized it wasn't her true calling; Sophie is now an Intuitive healer and an abundance coach. She is recently engaged to the love of her life. She has been sober for 1 1/2 years which is incredible. I am genuinely inspired by the work she has done and who she has become, especially with having been through all the things she went through. Please join us as she shares some of her stories. What the f*** le Celtique? Stephen Savage first came to prominence as the creative force behind the romantic ecology centered comedy “Cosmic Radio”, starring Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah, and Irene Bedard (the voice of Disney’s “Pocahontas”). The film was the sleeper hit of the 2008 Palm Springs International Film Festival, becoming the first film to sell out all three of its opening weekend screenings. Since then, Savage has written, produced, and or directed five more feature films, including the 2011 thriller “Legacy”, starring Wolfgang Bodison (“A Few Good Men”, Joe Somebody”) and Conor O’Farrell (HBO’s The Pacific”, “Stir Of Echoes”), and two television length dramas for The Sundance Channel, “The Hunter’s Moon” starring Wes Studi, and “Tide Of Whispers”, a joint Scottish/Canadian project which was shot in the Arctic Circle. Savage wrote and directed the Rock climbing comedy-drama “Vertical”, winner of the Best Foreign Film Award at the 2015 London International Film Festival” and the Audience Choice trophy at the 2015 Paris Film Expo. His commercial work for such prominent clients as Tesla, Hyundai, Acura, Suzuki, and Kia, and his work with Time Warner’s Travel Channel, The History Channel, and Journey TV, all put him on the fast track to a major directing career in film, TV, and Web Based advertising, and his stint as a featured director on A&E Network’s “Son’s Of Hollywood” helped make him a triple threat in the film, TV and commercial ad game. Stephen is also the author of a new adaptation of California’s Official State Play, “Ramona”, based on the 1884 Helen Hunt Jackson novel and the 1923 stage play of the same name, which is performed each spring in the beautiful 6000 seat Ramona Bowl Amphitheater in Southern California. Savage is also the founder and director of the Idyllwild International Festival Of Cinema, occurring every March in Idyllwild, California. – IMDb Mini Biography By: Sophie Jones (https://www.imdb.com/search/name?bio_author=Sophie%20Jones&view=simple&sort=alpha)
