His stories will captivate you, revealing the profound impact of military medicine both in the field and on the homefront.      Feel the ocean's swell as we set sail on the USNS Mercy, where Dr. Provencher once led surgical teams on life-saving missions. Politicians, government officials, business leaders, and public-health professionals were unprepared for the most devastating pandemic in a century. Many of the world's biggest drug-and vaccine-makers were slow to react or couldn't muster an effective response.   It was up to a small group of unlikely and untested scientists and executives to save civilization. A French businessman dismissed by many as a fabulist. A Turkish immigrant with little virus experience. A quirky Midwesterner obsessed with insect cells. Their work was met with scepticism and scorn. By 2020, these individuals had little proof of progress. Yet they and their colleagues wanted to be the ones to stop the virus that was holding the world hostage. They scrambled to turn their life's work into life-saving vaccines in a matter of months, each gunning to make the big breakthrough—and to beat each other for the glory that a vaccine guaranteed.

Remember when the Trump administration sent those massive floating hospitals to California and New York?  One of the signs that the pandemic was under control was seeing those ships return to base.   But now hard-hit Mississippi has requested the federal government send a military hospital ship such as the USNS Comfort to its aid.  And ventilators are shipping again too.  The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services confirmed Wednesday that it was sending 200 ventilators and 100 nasal breathing machines to Florida, where more than 10,000 people are hospitalized with coronavirus-related illnesses.  And even though the demand for much of the personal protection equipment (PPE) fell this spring as COVID-19 cases declined, the need has risen again the need for PPE now is similar to where it was at the pandemic's beginning.

Welcome to This Present Moment. What follows is the first in a series of semimonthly writings. In the coming weeks I will share emails on life, philosophy, consciousness and whatever else electrifies me. What this will blossom into, I do not know. It is an experiment in connection, and I invite you to meet me here. If you'd like to be kept abreast, subscribe below for new volumes at least twice a month. To move into This Present Moment, let's first look backward. It's almost cute how we compartmentalize our life into eras. We see our history as little chapters that comprise the Story of Our Life. It's portioned out into sub-narratives, like "My Summer Abroad," or "Middle School: The Weird Years," or "Grandma's Final Days." We also have collective eras, culturally agreed upon and enshrined in history books. "The Victorian Era." "Pre-9/11." And now, "COVID." In the centuries to come, those early months of 2020 will be the pivot in which the 21st century turns. And as with many of us, it is also a fulcrum in which my life turned. In February 2020 I snuffed out the last remnants of my bachelor life and said goodbye to the East Village. I whittled down my belongings to three boxes, moved into my girlfriend's uptown apartment, and she immediately got me hooked on La Croix. I am now a convert. But moments after I moved in, the world moved away. New York drifted into silenceThe nation held its breath. And we all became friendly with the unknown. The Observer In Me found this curiously engrossing. Tragic, absolutely, but it was also a time bursting with novelty. If you recall, this domestic drama premiered in New York City. It was quite the production. There was the now-mired press briefings by Andrew Cuomo, the banging of pots for healthcare workers, and, of course, a deus-ex-machina: The USNS Comfort. That Navy darling sat emptily one block from my apartment, greeting me during mornings runs. "May you live in interesting times." Well, what's more interesting than jogging through a totally empty Times Square like Tom Cruise in Vanilla Sky?And as if reality wasn't shifting fast enough, we decided to get a puppy. Rooh surged into our life with boundless vigor. At once a firecracker and a love-bug, she's tested me where I'm weak and softened me where I'm hard. And in turn, she has become one of my greatest teachers. As rascalous as she is, I marvel at how I've come to love her. Animals are bizarre beings. On one hand, they're in some foreign world that shirks any resemblance to the mind of man. And yet, we draw our eyes to theirs and we connect. In that instant we know each other, and we see them as if they were us. That collective space—the union of mind—is what this present moment is really about. Somewhere behind the clatter of our daily thoughts we have a deeper seat of awareness, a point of stillness. Our minds have been affected by this virus more than our bodies. In the fog of lockdown, one was left with an inescapably close-up look at their life. It slowed our motion, held up a mirror, and asked Do you like what you see? In the mornings I would sit on a thin, grassy parkway on the Hudson River. This slice of "nature" became my center of gravity, my tether to the natural world. Lying in Shavasana, I would listen to the birds sing. They didn't seem worried about anything—just another day in the steady spin of time. The dawn sun would bathe my body, and I felt clean. What nourishment even the briefest ray of light offers us in otherwise dark times. "So shines a good deed in a weary world."My years in New York were buoyed by these daily trips to the park. Mini-eras marked by mini-plots of grass. Astoria Park. Central Park. Washington Square. With every new apartment came a new spot to commune with the Sun. Tompkins. East River. Riverside. Prospect. They were lifelines carrying me through the different islands of my 20's.But through the looking-glass of lockdown, these meager patches of Earth suddenly seemed insufficient. Where was there room for growth? And thus the closing words were written for "The Most Exciting Decade of My Life." Nothing will match the youthful jubilance of those New York years—a kinetic voyage of self-discovery that will forever be lodged in my heart. What a gift it was to come of age in the Greatest City in the World, to ride its waves to the shores of who I am. But it was time to traverse new lands. Molly and I condensed our few belongings into storage, bought a car, and with little Rooh took to America to find a home. The first stop was Molly's hometown of Carlisle, Ohio, a bastion of middle America, and a counterpoint to the high pitch of New York. Molly's folks inhabit an old haunted house where I spent my free time writing what amounted to a garage-philosophy theory of everything. Our month-long stopover was a gentle respite of relaxation, contemplation, and, as always, work. For the prior two years I had been a filmmaker at Google's Creative Lab. Gripes abound at Big Tech these days, and I could levy plenty of grievances over the perils of modern technology—corporate and otherwise. But my experience there was fantastic, and the Creative Lab is good people trying to do good things with a good company. Plus, the work was stimulating—crescendoing, for instance, in a Super Bowl spot of which I am proud.I was at the end of my contract—and at the end of my willpower to gaze into a Macbook all day. I bid Google adieu and, for the first time in my life, began turning down work. I was simply going to live. Thus began one of the most glorious chapters of my life.First we dropped by Chicago to see my folks, and then sojourned at Molly's sister's in Oklahoma City (a surprisingly hip place). Then we drove west to Colorado and nabbed an AirBNB in the mountains, nestled between Boulder and a crusty, hippie town named Nederland. The mammoth beauty of it all lifted me up, and I was Rocky Mountain High. The vastness of the mountains. The totemic serenity of the trees. The notes of pine in the morning air. It felt magical, and my spirit was ignited. We descended Colorado by way of a small mountain town named Crestone, population 86. Crestone is a bracingly unique spot in the San Luis Valley, flanked by dozens of Zen retreat centers, the Sand Dunes National Park, and my favorite: a UFO watchtower. (My visit offered no sightings ... But aliens are real. More on that some other time.

Hopefully others will learn to do so as well.New York Governor Cuomo ordered nursing homes to take in patients who were currently sick with COVID-19. This was one of the most stupid things that could have been done in treating this highly infectious illnesses. The nursing homes tried to fight it, but lost. In May, because this was such a disaster, they changed how they were counting nursing home COVID deaths to cover up the mess by about 50%. Cuomo subsequently threatened to destroy anyone who dared question why he was covering up the real death numbers. Turns out New York City was the epicenter of COVID, and yet, the USNS Comfort (a Mercy-class hospital ship) sat in the NYC port essentially unused, as was the Javits Center, which the Corps of Engineers had converted to an alternate care facility. Why was this allowed to happen? The Press refused to do its job of investigation. Stephen Parr and Louis Avallone explain.

Add in the bullying might of the 'woke' mob, and it truly feels like George Orwell's dystopian novel '1984' has taken root in American society. Michael focuses on designated emergency hospital areas such as the USNS Comfort and a triage location at Billie Jean King Tennis Center outside of Queens. These two locales were set up to treat Coronavirus victims, but ended up being vacant boondoggles for the cause.

Bob Enyart and Fred Williams complete Real Science Radio's List of 25 Ways the Shutdown Kills People. See the full written list at rsr.org/25 and links to various scientific studies showing how increased death results from economic decline. We've noticed leftists and other Democrats getting angry at this list. But, if you're a conservative Christian, hold onto your hat! Because you might get mad at the guys yourself as they begin today's program quickly calling out their List of 25 COVID Christian Conspiracies. * List of COVID Christian Conspiracies: from the conservative pastor of DBC, after first angering the left with our 25 Ways the Shudown Kills People, now we've angered many on the right, our own natural consituency, with our list of COVID Conspiracies. Millions of Christians lacking discernment swallowed whole each of these absurdities, many of which are contradictory, and risk their mental health by indulging their paranoia... - the coronavirus was never a real threat - the government planned the pandemic (as a power grab) - the media planned the pandemic (to get Trump) - the global elite planned this (toward ushering in the anti-Christ) - Fauci who had said "it's coming" planned this (to make money) - China planned the pandemic (but first infected itself) - the CDC planned this (advertising in 2019 for pandemic workers) - the virus is a Plandemic (even though its clearly natural) - somebody, doesn't matter who, planned this (says my paranoia) - this virus can't be natural ('cause then I can't indulge my paranoia) - a SARS or COVID virus could appear naturally only every 800 years - China created this as a biological weapon (then infected itself) - people can contract SARS-CoV-2 from the flu vaccine - masks increase your risk of contracting the coronavirus - Bill Gates is creating a vaccine to kill millions of people (depopulation) - God's command to not bear false witness doesn't apply to me - KS City ordered churches to turn over membership roles - coronavirus test kits are infecting people with the virus - the Mark of the Beast is a vaccine (Of course! How could it not be!) - any conspiracy always explains whatever crisis occurs - COVID deaths, relatively small in number, are highly exaggerated - $39k paid for each ventilator use (So what? Most have gone unused.) - government plans to forcibly remove children from homes - 5G wireless technology helps to spread the coronavirus - churches have been shut down but not mosques - medical examiners are attributing traffic deaths to COVID - the CDC designed guidelines to overcount COVID deaths - the CDC quietly reduced COVID death count by 23,000 (and see below) - the COVID vaccine is unsafe (yet one doesn't even exist) - Fauci profits from a (non-existent) HIV vaccine and will from COVID - the left is using this crisis (yes, but they use everything, even normalcy) - to receive any of the $100 billion HR 6666 testing money institutions must require everyone entering their facilities to have taken the (non-existent) COVID vaccine. COVID Leftist Conspiracies: - Trump-led racists fabricating Wuhan lab origin - Those urging return to work want people to die - HCQ used safely for 60 years now a very dangerous drug - _________ please send suggestions for leftist or Christian conspiracies to Bob@kgov.com. Like the people in the Bible and taking the Lord as an example, we are far more interested in confronting bad behavior among us Christians, and exposing the misinformation spread by believers, than we are in talking about the overtly obvious left-wing conspiracies. Understanding the Shutdown without Conspiracies: and please send suggestions for this section to Bob@kgov.com. - For decades epidemiologists have proposed shutdown mitigation ideas - Mankind through the 1900s lacked the wealth to even try a shutdown  - In late 2019 SARS-CoV-2 jumped from bats to a Wuhan laboratory staffer - That Wuhan lab worker spread the disease in the Wuhan wet market - The communist Chinese lied and covered up igniting a pandemic - The World Health Organization dutifully repeated China's misinformation - President Donald Trump insightfully cut off the US from China - Fauci, the media, the Dems, and the WHO condemned the "overreaction" - May 12th Trump announces unprecedented cutoff of US from Europe - We conservatives, also fearing the virus, did not criticize cutting off Europe - US media and all the left flipped position to now claim Trump underreacted - Epidemiologists, security consultants, etc., given a free hand, will overreact - Prosperity meant eventually nations would try the epidemiologist proposal - Europe's nations closed their borders and not for conspiratorial reasons - First time ever millions (all liberals) hope a drug, HCQ, fails to save lives - Shutdown flattens the "curve" but as at rsr.org/25-ways it also kills people - Leftists and epidemiologists seem oblivious to mass death from recession   - NY Gov. Cuomo's Dept of Health ordered nursing homes on March 25th (and reversed on May 10th), "No resident shall be denied re-admission or admission to the NH solely based on a confirmed or suspected diagnosis of COVID-19. NHs are prohibited from requiring a hospitalized resident who is determined medically stable to be tested for COVID-19 prior to admission or readmission." That incompetence led to approaching 5,000 deaths, or nearly 25% of New York's fatalities while hundreds of emergency hospital beds went unused at the Javits Center and on the USNS Comfort. - Late January to late March when a tiny fraction of Americans were dying from the coronavirus, the epidemiologists had justification for their predictions that a major wave of death was coming soon, whereas many pro-Trump conservatives were solidifying a premature belief, based on what they were seeing, that this disease was a minimal concern.- As worldwide daily fatalities for this brand new cause of death race past those of most recent endemics and pandemics and have tied malaria and AIDS and approach pneumonia, U.S. fatalities have average 1,800 deaths daily and higher for a number of days in April and May 2020, and for that duration COVID-19 was the #1 cause of death in America... - Millions of Christians swallowed whole the rsr.org/COVID-conspiracies - Conspiracy allegations make it harder for politicians to back down - The cure is worse than the disease per rsr.org/25-ways-the-shutdown-kills* Wuhan Flu: Those who seek to hold the Chinese communist government accountable for the lies and cover-up behavior that ignited the pandemic can use this map of China coated with the widely-recognized SARS-CoV-2 virus graphic... * Biblical Principles Related to a Drastic Epidemic Mitigation: Consider historical accounts and biblical principles from Joseph, Moses, Nehemiah, and Jesus Himself. In the Book of Leviticus Moses wrote God's commands regarding infectuous disease mitigation 3,000 years before the age of microbiology ushered in by creationist Louis Pasteur. The Lord instructed the Israelites to quarantine, wash, observe, and even at times burn the personal effects of the infirm. That quarantine, of course, was for the person who was ill, and this was for the particular infectuous disease the Israelites were facing at that time. A biblical teaching from a couple centuries earlier in sacred history that is related to drastic action taken by a government in the face of a possibly existential threat comes from the time of Amenemhat III. (He's the source of the ancient expression, Amen, make it so.) The reason that God revealed the coming famine to Joseph was so that the Egyptian government could prepare for a looming drought. Pharaoh undoubtedly expropriated land over the nine miles of what is still today called the Waterway of Joseph. That Bahr Yussef brought the Nile's water to Birket Karun, quadrupling its water acreage. Also undoubledly, thistook a tremendous number of lakefront properties, when Birket Karun became the massive ancient Lake Moeris, filling that valley to become a huge resevoir. Joseph was not known as one of the twelve patriarchs of Jacob at that time, and any displaced landowners, even any who happened to believe in the Creator of the world, if they held the same position as many right-wing Christians today, would have fiercely objected: "The government has no just authority to take away my God-given right to control my own private property! And besides, look at the weather. Looks fine to me! There's no drought in site!" (Sounds like many Christians in January, February, and March 2020. See the almost non-existent daily deaths for those months, above.) When God authorized Nehemiah to return to Jerusalem and build the great wall of the city to mitigate possible future death from invaders, the descendants of Jews and others who had escaped Nebuchadnezzar's army seventy years earlier were living among the rubble of the cities overthrown. Undoubedly here too God's authority extended to the appropriation of land for the wall even over any objections of current residents. "You're not building a wall across my land!", to which Nehemiah if he were in a good mood would have said to his men, "Ignore him." Consider also the significant implication of Jesus' teaching that man was not made for the Sabbath but the Sabbath for man. Selah. * Masks: The world's mitigation efforts have suddenly promoted a medical industry question of effectiveness into a public controversy. For the sake especially of medical staff, hopefully we will improve our understanding of the dynamics involved, even after a hundred years of enormous experience and a lot of study. In 1977 smallpox, a disease from a highly transmissible airborne virus, was eradicated. Three of ten victims died. In case of a reemergence, nursing protocols reiterated even this century call for those around a suspected case to wear masks. With all our conspiracy-minded friends have learned against masks, undoubtedly each would still wear a mask if their work (or love) required them to be around folks like that poor girl, shown here. The mask conspiracy item listed above states the false belief that those who wear masks increase their risk of transmission. Such conspiracists must conclude that over the last century those who wore masks to minimize risk actually increased disease transmission. It appears thast most of those who come to that conclusion and who are also angered thereby don't assume that recommending masks is a well-meaning but ill informed policy, but rather, there must be nefarious reasons motivating the thousands of medical experts who advise wearing them. This later is an indication of a progressing mental health issue evidenced by paranoia. * Traffic Deaths Being Marked as COVID: If you play a trick on your Christian friends and read any of a thousand Bible verses to them, not telling them it's from Scripture, about half will say they disagree with what you've just read. So when Christians en masse instantly accept the claim that coroners are marking traffic fatalities as COVID deaths, that overwhelming uncritical acceptance alone is a good indicator that, as it appears on it's face, it's fake news. Here's a typical BEL email correspondence... Forwarded Conversation Subject: "My cousin knows somebody?" ------------------------ From: K********  Date: Thu, May 14, 2020 at 8:44 AM To: Bob Enyart Bob, I gave my friend a link to your program, and he did enjoy it. But our text exchange went as follows. To my friend: Didn't u say u knew someone whose kid died in a wreck but they put COVID on her death certificate and he has to fight the hospital to change it for insurance purposes? It's interesting all the messages around that start with "my friend knows someone" or "my brother knows someone" etc. His response: Yes. And I heard it again from my doctor Monday. He has a client who’s son just died in a motorcycle accident in Vancouver. They listed the death as Covid. Also my buddies grandmother who was 92, no Covid symptoms, just old, week at the end of her life died in the hospital of natural causes. Listed as Covid. I know a girl in Hawaii that just had a friend pass of pancreatic cancer, listed as Covid. No conspiracy when you hear it over and over again. Sent from my iPad ---------- From: Bob Enyart  Date: Fri, May 15, 2020 at 9:19 AM To: K********" Cc: B******** Hey K*******! I've cc'd our dear friend and graphic artist extraordinaire B****** because of the Vancouver area traffic deaths, two of the more tragic ones were children from his town. B..., if you're aware whether the local news reported a recent motorcycle death in the Vancouver area, please let us know. I'm fishing out another spreading conspiracy for our RSR show for May 15th and for our list at rsr.org/covid-conspiracies. K*****, using my lie detector mode, when I read the above exchange, I'm thinking as though I'm interviewing a suspect's friend, and I'm spotting evidence of evasion and likely false information... Q: Didn't u say u knew someone whose kid died in a wreck but they put COVID on her death certificate and he has to fight the hospital to change it for insurance purposes? A: Yes. Oh really? And that's it? With such a pointed question, the only answer is, Yes. Not, "Yes," and then offer the identity of the gal who died, or at least your friend's identity? What's missing that would appear in a truthful answer is: "Yeah, it was Jerry Berry's kid brother, Mark. He died last Tuesday over on Main and 15th. It was a reall mess." But instead of details about the case he knows of personally, he then obfuscates by throwing in questionable and likely uncheckable details about a different case. A continues: And I heard it again from my doctor Monday. He has a client who’s son just died in a motorcycle accident in Vancouver. They listed the death as Covid. Ah, now he gives more details than he just did for the person that he knew. But it turns out that traffic deaths in Vancouver and its surroundings, like in all major cities, are contemporaneously reported and in the last month according to local and Canadian media there were: - three motorcycle accidents in the past month and as of a report six days after the one with the most serious injuries, no report of fatalities - a baby boy was killed and parents injured in a rollover crash on Highway 97 C - two Abbotsford children killed when drowning in a crashed and submerged ATV   - a Vancouver island pilot killed in a far-distant Canadian miltary helicopter crash - two fatal boating accidents in the last ten days - new recommendations from a fatal train crash a year ago - finally charges issued in a nearby Malahat crash two years ago - but no fatal motorcyle crashes [UPDATE: other than the tragic one that B***** found from November, which he truly doubts was marked as COVID related.] And even if there had been, the doctor's account would have turned out to be false. Doctors are hardly less susceptible to personalizing the conspiracy theories they spread than are others. And ironically, there's undoubtedly a slightly paranoid doc in Vancouver who's saying a motorcycle death in your friend's city was marked as COVID. (Televangelist faith healers know that trick. They tell donors in Singapore that God raised someone from the dead in Kansas City and when in KC say they did that in Singapore. Piece 'o cake.) A continues: [with two examples that were not fatal crashes marked as covid deaths] These just add details that even if true wouldn't corroborate the original false statement but they're meant to imply that they corroborate it. Lies often are detectable by the details added in order to make them sound more believable. Like, the friend "has to fight the hospital to change [the cause of death] for insurance purposes." Oh, really? Right. Overcounting and undercounting obviously both occur and both for unavoidable and for bias reasons, and often these cancel each other out and regardless, because the number of cases is by far the greater factor, getting the count "accurate" is not as important as most people think. If millions of people are infected, and a hundred thousand people are claimed dead from the virus, but the deaths were overcounted by double, that would mean that, for example, the death rate was 0.02 instead of 0.01. The overcounting, and the undercounting (as with nursing homes and via state governors who want to look like they did a great job reducing deaths), these factors both go into the number in the numerator, and it's the denominator, that is, the number of cases, that is so vastly greater, that makes the difference in evaluating the real world happenings. UPDATE: At any rate, K****** just emailed: It's obvious some of that overcounting went on. But the "I know someone's sister" ... is all over. "My wife's a Farmers insurance agent and just last night a fellow agent said one of his 'prospects' told him a similar story. Thanks K******, I'm obviously not saying the doc or your friend are going to hell because of this. (People go to hell if they reject Jesus Christ.) But I am admonishing them and ten thousand others by pointing out that regarding God's Ten Commandments, when they're endulging their paranoia, they believe they can reject His command, as maybe the Amplified Bible would put it, "Do not bear false witness against your coroner." They're so sloppy with the retelling of stories, and so eager to have people believe them, that like with the game telephone, only somewhat intentional, each time they or someone else repeats what they've heard or read on social media they have the opportunity to falsely remember/misspeak/personalize the story or add a detail they imagine must be true, in order to make the claim sound more convincing. When it comes to fake news, the left has nothing on the right. After all, they say, never let a crisis go to waste. Thanks K******. List of Christian COVID Conspiracies (& the debate pt. 4)

Bob Enyart Live

Play Episode Listen Later May 13, 2020

Before airing more audio from the first-ever televised predestination and free will debate, Bob Enyart presents the List of COVID Christian Conspiracies as compiled by the pastor of Denver Bible Church. :) And he also presents our nascent COVID Leftist Conspiracies list and our bulleted Understanding the Shutdown without Conspiracies. Then Calvinist pastor Brian Schwertley continues to argue for the false doctrine of Limited Atonement, not recognizing that God the Son Himself IS the atonement, and that because He has infinite value and worth, the atonement by definition cannot be limited. And then the second half of the debate, about God existing "in time", begins with time in heaven, God in time, and the nightmare of the alternative, which would be God always looking upon us a saved and unsaved, as Jesus as resurrected and unresurrected, as Adam as unfallen and fallen, etc. * List of COVID Christian Conspiracies: from the conservative pastor of DBC, after first angering the left with our 25 Ways the Shudown Kills People, now we've angered many on the right, our own natural consituency, with our list of COVID Conspiracies. Millions of Christians lacking discernment swallowed whole each of these absurdities, many of which are contradictory, and risk their mental health by endulging their paranoia... - the coronavirus was never a real threat - the government planned the pandemic (as a power grab) - the media planned the pandemic (to get Trump) - the global elite planned this (toward ushering in the anti-Christ) - Fauci who had said "it's coming" planned this (to make money) - China planned the pandemic (but first infected itself) - the CDC planned this (advertising in 2019 for pandemic workers) - the virus is a "Plandemic" (even though its clearly natural) - somebody, doesn't matter who, planned this (says my paranoia) - this virus can't be natural ('cause then I can't indulge my paranoia) - a SARS or COVID virus could appear naturally only every 800 years - China created this as a biological weapon (then infected itself) - people can contract SARS-CoV-2 from the flu vaccine - coronavirus test kits are infecting people with the virus - masks increase your risk of contracting the coronavirus - Bill Gates is creating a vaccine to kill millions of people (depopulation) - God's command to not bear false witness doesn't apply to me - KS City ordered churches to turn over membership roles - the Mark of the Beast is a vaccine (Of course! How could it not be!) - any conspiracy always explains whatever crisis occurs - COVID deaths, relatively small in number, are highly exaggerated - $39k paid for each ventilator use (So what? Most have gone unused.) - government plans to forcibly remove children from homes (i.e., Washington) - 5G wireless technology helps to spread the coronavirus - churches have been shut down but not mosques - medical examiners are attributing traffic deaths to COVID - the CDC designed guidelines to overcount COVID deaths - the CDC quietly reduced COVID death count by 23,000 - the COVID vaccine is unsafe (yet one doesn't even exist) - Fauci profits from a (non-existent) HIV vaccine and will from COVID - the left is using this crisis (yes, but they use everything, even normalcy) - to receive any of the $100 billion HR 6666 testing money institutions must require everyone entering their facilities to have taken the (non-existent) COVID vaccine. Countless extreme variations of conspiracy are racing through the web giving the paranoid an adrenaline rush. For example, a nurse practitioner owner of a succesful clinic tells people that China's phase one bioweapon has killed about half-a-million Americans (and countless millions of others around the world) yet the governments of the U.S., Japan, South Korea, etc., are hiding the true death toll. (Why? You'll be better off if you don't ask.) Separately, online videos are claiming that President Trump signed a bill enabling charging with attempted murder anyone who does not wear a mask. (No word on whether the law requires masks while sleeping and showering.) Millions of people have spent decades of their life being reckless with their mental health, indulging their paranoia, and now the consequences are seen everywhere. (For BEL's main related page, see kgov.com/conspiracy-theories.) COVID Leftist Conspiracies: - Trump-led racists fabricating Wuhan lab origin - Those urging return to work want people to die - HCQ used safely for 60 years now a very dangerous drug - _________ please send suggestions for leftist or Christian conspiracies to Bob@kgov.com. In Christ, - Bob EnyartKGOV.com  -  RealScienceRadio.com  -  rsr.org   * Washington State Interdiction & Bill Gates' Sterilization: Christians would do well to review the case of Typhoid Mary. The current discussion by Christians is much like that of pacifists who have the luxury of being pacifists because they live in a mostly peaceful state. Yet once violent state-sponsored aggression breaks out (like in WWII including when the Japanese kidnapped tens of thousands of Korean and other "comfort women") then their false pacifist teachings are exposed as all-along erroneous and dangerous. Similarly, the false case is easily made that because human beings are sinful and control freaks, we should have anarchy because governments can't be trusted. Likewise for an unprecedented deadly epidemic (which is not COVID-19; rather we have an unprecedented overreaction), regardless of the fact that politicians generally are wicked, there remains authority for government to interdict when there is reasonable evidence that someone is recklessly spreading a deadly pathogen. If Mat Staver apologizes for his May 1 fake news, beyond his "Corrections have been made to this message", I'll start reading his material again, but he's paranoid and spreads paranoia. As the widely-trusted former dean of Liberty University Law School and chairman of Liberty Counsel, his fake news headline “Kansas City, Missouri, officials are now requiring every church to submit a list of members” harmed those unknowingly struggling with paranoia and mental illness. The damage was just as though he had harmed those struggling with pornography by emailing them a dose. Here at BEL we rather dislike being in the position of having to defend, for example, the egregiously evil Bill Gates from the libel that he's creating a vaccine to kill 15% of the world's population. Being himself, along with the rest of the godless left, obsessed with abortion and overpopulation, he points out that healthy and propsperous societies tend to have fewer children and a million Christians think he's admitting that his vaccines are designed to kill people. Really? Right out in the open? Even if such a thing were true, he'd just go ahead and say it? As to to the vaccines he has funded being used to sterlilize millions of women, for certain he has not funded the development of any infectuous disease vaccine being used anywhere in the world, that was designed to unwittingly sterilize people.   Today's Resource: Predestination & Free Will Debate Bob Enyart vs. Brian Schwertly Can God change? This is Coronavirus 411, the latest COVID-19 info and new hotspots… Just the facts… for Wednesday April 22nd, 2020. Two deaths in Santa Clara County, California in early February, have been attributed to the virus, autopsies reveal. The deaths on February 6th and 17th are the earliest known in the U.S. Neither victim had been out of the country, transmission was likely “community spread”. Meaning the virus may have been spreading in the U.S. weeks earlier than thought. Antibody tests from a study conducted by USC and the LA County Public Health Department, conclude that more than 320,000 in LA may have been infected, reports CBS news. The Senate passed the $484 billion aid bill, it includes $382 billion for small businesses, $75 billion for hospitals, and $25 billion for testing. The bill heads to the House for a vote. A study done by the Veterans Administration concluded that patients treated with hydroxychloroquine had higher death rates than patients not treated with the drug. The USNS Comfort, docked in New York City, will no longer accept new patients, as the need is no longer there. An executive order, signed by India’s Prime Minster, will make attacks on healthcare workers punishable with 6 months to 7 years in prison. In Spain, The Prime Minister has asked Parliament to extended lockdown restrictions to May 9th, with a “slow and gradual” re-opening after that, reports The Washington Post. There are 33 cases on board an Italian cruise ship, docked in Nagasaki, Japan. 623 total crew members are on board, no passengers. South Korea has announced a 32-billion-dollar aid package to assist businesses hit hard by the virus. The locations of hotspots and U.S and Country diagnoses in a moment. I spoke incorrectly referencing the USNS MERCY. That hospital ship was enroute to Los Angeles. The hospital ship berthing in New York was the USNS COMFORT. Here is more information about the history of the USNS COMFORT. Laura mentioned turning off the water when brushing teeth. I found this statistic about turning off the faucet: two gallons of water flow from a faucet each minute. Something as simple as turning off the water while brushing your teeth can save up to three or four gallons of water per person per day. That’s more than 1,000 gallons of water per year or enough for almost 100 four-minute showers. We had a brief confused conversation about numerous authors. Iwas referencing Malcolm Gladwell’s Revisionist History and it’s episodes on higher education. I found this article. What followed was a list of other authors and books while I tried to explain Gladwell to Laura. These included Tim Ferris, author of The 4 Hour Work Week and then Simon Sinek, author of Start with Why which I incorrectly cited as The Power of Why and graduate of Northern Valley Regional High School like Laura and myself Finally Laura and I agreed she was referencing Eckhart Tolle, the author of Power of Now. Laura was surprised that the Bowery Ballroom was listing events rescheduled from May 18 forward. As the COVID-19 pandemic is a evolving situation, here is a link to the Bowery Ballroom website and calendar of events. Laura used the story of DJ D-Nice and his evolving free virtual dance floor parties “Club Quarantine” as an example of the power of online communities and how people need relief from the stress of the pandemic. Here is a great summary of the story. I gave a shout out to Virginia Beach Recording Arts, where the Corporate Thought podcasts are edited. I also mentioned the newly redesigned Corporate Thought Website. Laura spoke reverently of Howard Bragman. This is his company. Early in her career, Laura worked for Former US Senator and NY Knick, Bill Bradley. Laura well stated “Age is only a number and that number doesn’t matter”. I found an article demonstrating just that. I spoke of his long term desire to achieve Inbox Zero nirvana. Here is an article on how to achieve it. Laura used to host a sports podcast called Bullpen Betty. We discussed the idea of a shortened season for major league baseball or possibly a cancelled season. There was a great article released today on the statistical advantages of a shortened season. Laura spoke of her friend, sportscaster, Roger Clark. Here was a short interview I found with him. That Ship Has Sailed Today's topics include: That ship would be the USNS Comfort, which arrived in New York's harbor today. It's a hospital ship to help relieve crowded New York City hospitals on the mainland. Some in the Left-Wing media - looking at you Rachel Maddow - thought the President's promise that these Navy hospital ships would arrive as early as this week was a joke... Next, Matt Margolis (Columnist at PJ Media and Author of several books including, "Trumping Obama: How President Trump Saved Us From Barack Obama's Legacy") joins the show to discuss the Obama-Biden Administration and how they ignored several government reports that hospitals lacked ventilators and supplies years ago. A Navy hospital ship with 1,000 beds arrived Monday in New York City as the number of deaths in the state from the coronavirus outbreak climbed quickly. The disease continued to claim the lives of health care workers. Mayor Bill de Blasio said President Donald Trump’s suggestion that thousands of medical masks are disappearing from New York City hospitals is “insulting” to front-line medical workers. The latest coronavirus developments in New York:___SHIP ARRIVES AS TOLL RISESA Navy hospital ship docked in New York City on Monday as the number of coronavirus-related deaths in the state soared to a “beyond staggering” 1,218.The 1,000-bed USNS Comfort will be used as a “relief valve,” treating non-coronavirus patients while the city’s increasingly stressed hospitals handle people with COVID-19, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said.Shortly after it arrived at a Manhattan pier, the governor announced that the statewide death toll had risen by 253 in a single day."That's a lot of loss, that's a lot of pain, that's a lot of tears, that's a lot of grief that people all across this state are feeling," Cuomo said. Most of the state's fatalities have occurred in just the past 10 days. Cuomo said the ultimate number of COVID-19-related deaths will be staggering, then added: "To me, we're beyond staggering already."The Comfort, which was also sent to New York after the 9/11 terror attacks, has 12 operating rooms that could be up and running within 24 hours, officials said. The ship is docked just north of a temporary hospital constructed inside the cavernous Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. State and city officials are trying to increase hospital capacity by up to 87,000 beds to handle the outbreak."We bring a message to all New Yorkers – now, your Navy is returned and we are with you committed in this fight,” said Rear Admiral John Mustin. There are 9,500 people in New York currently hospitalized for COVID-19, with more than 2,300 in intensive care. More than 66,000 New Yorkers have tested positive for the virus.___TEMPORARY MORGUESAs the outbreak has worsened, some hospitals are now parking refrigerated trailers outside their doors to collect the remains of the dead.At two Brooklyn hospitals, videos posted online by bystanders and a medical worker showed workers wearing protective masks and gowns loading bodies onto trailers from gurneys parked on the sidewalk. The office of the city's medical examiner confirmed on Monday that it has started using a temporary morgue set up last week in Manhattan to provide emergency capacity as the city’s permanent morgues fill up. The site near Bellevue Hospital includes a large tent and refrigeration units. The U.S. military has sent 42 people to the city to help the medical examiner’s office deal with an influx of bodies.Thomas Von Essen, the regional administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, said Monday his agency was also providing refrigeration trucks to the city.“We in New York City have a desperate need for help over in Queens,” said Von Essen, who was the city’s fire commissioner on Sept. 11, 2001. “And we are working on that as we speak, there’s folks trying to put it all together.”Queens has been the hardest hit of the five boroughs, with an outsized number of coronavirus cases and deaths.___THE TOLLTwo more New York City health care workers have died of the coronavirus, days after the first confirmed death.De Blasio announced Sunday the deaths of Freda Ocran, a psych educator at Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx, and Theresa Lococo, a pediatric nurse at Kings County Hospital.Ocran was previously the head nurse of the psych unit at Jacobi and was working, in part, to support her mother in Africa, de Blasio said.On March 20, Ocran changed her profile picture on Facebook to include a mantra familiar to people on the front lines of the coronavirus fight: “I can’t stay home ... I’m a healthcare worker.”Dr. James T. Goodrich, a pediatric neurosurgeon who once led a tea...

Parts of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut could be put under a short-term quarantine, President Trump said Saturday, as other states reported spikes in coronavirus cases, prompting fears they would emerge as the next hot spots.President Trump said he was still considering a two-week quarantine Saturday afternoon, tweeting, "A decision will be made, one way or another, shortly."The US surpassed Italy and China this week to become the country with the most coronavirus cases in the world and now has at least 111,980 known cases, according to CNN's tally. At least 1,858 people have died in the US, with at least 402 of those deaths reported on Friday alone.More than 52,000 of the country's cases are in New York state alone. It was unclear what a quarantine of the tri-state area would entail, though Trump said it would be "enforceable" and restrict travel from the areas in question.Trump's announcement came just as New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo was addressing his state in a news conference, where Cuomo said he spoke with the President Saturday morning. But when he was asked about the President's comments, Cuomo said a quarantine had not been a topic of discussion."But I can tell you, I don't even like the sound of it," the governor said.New York officials forecast the apex of the pandemic in the state is still 14 to 21 days away. At that point, the state expects it will need 140,000 hospital beds, Cuomo said.To increase capacity, New York and its National Guard are assembling four 1,000-bed temporary, overflow hospitals in existing buildings. One, at Manhattan's Javits Convention Center, will open Monday, Cuomo said. The USNS Comfort is set to arrive in New York City the same day, providing another 1,000 beds.Meanwhile, officials elsewhere are concerned their states could follow in New York's footsteps. In Los Angeles County, cases more than tripled in six days, and one official says numbers will keep going up. Health Director Barbara Ferrer says she expects to see case counts in Los Angeles double every four days for the next two to three weeks."No matter where you are, this is coming to you," Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said Thursday. "Take all the measures you can now to make sure people are home."On Friday, the FDA approved a coronavirus test that can provide results in less than 15 minutes, using the same technology that powers some rapid flu tests.Pandemic will hit these states hard, top US doctor saysNew hot spots have emerged as the numbers have also escalated in other states, the country's top doctor says. Those include Detroit, Chicago and New Orleans, US Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams told "CBS This Morning" on Friday."The virus and the local community are going to determine the time line. It's not going to be us from Washington DC. People need to follow their data, they need to make the right decisions based on what their data is telling them," he said."Everyone's curve is going to be different," Adams said.In Chicago, hospitals and health officials have begun preparing for a surge in patients after Mayor Lori Lightfoot said the city could see more than 40,000 hospitalizations in the next week, CNN affiliate WLS reported."This morning, we spent time with folks from the state and my team and Army Corps of Engineers at McCormick Place. We were looking at what it takes, not in a theoretical way, to layout thousands of beds," Commissioner Dr. Allison Arwady of the Chicago Department of Public Health told the news station. One registered ICU nurse with University of Chicago Medicine, who asked not to be named for fear of reprisal, told CNN that she's afraid of what the ICU will look like in another week as cases rise."The number of Covid patients we are getting is rapidly increasing every day," she said, "and all of us collectively worry about what will happen as it gets worse if this is where we are starting."University of Chicago Medicine officials did not immediately respond to CNN's reques...

But all of this recently happened to us, and the result is a superb new episode of "The Resonance Test," featuring the USNS COMFORT's Commanding Officer Captain Lanny Boswell in conversation with Continuum's Mike Dunkley. Some highlights from Boswell: • “In some of these countries where healthcare is few and far between, when we move in, we can impact and change the health of a small country for years, with a three-week stay.” • “We are in what we call Ready Five status. We have to be prepared from when we're given a go signal, to be able to throw the lines within five days. That's our requirement. And we usually do it in three days.” • The Comfort's unilateral design creates a “leapfrogging of communication” which is “not done by going up two or three flights of stairs or into another level or into another building. They're literally down the hall.” • “The challenges are so intense and so immense, it really is the belief in the mission to begin with that carries the day.” • “We represent the best of who we are, as a nation, and our alliances. The multiple countries we take on board. We represent the benevolence of a great thought—that we're all in this together.” Host: Pete Chapin Editor: Kyp Pilalas Producer: Ken Gordon

A daily devotional through the recorded words Jesus spoke while He walked alongside us. Our website http://alittlewalkwithgod.com. Thanks for joining me today for "A Little Walk with God." I'm your host Richard Agee. If you're going to be around sailing men, you need to know a few nautical terms like bow and stern, port and starboard, and a few others just to get around. One today struck me for the first time in some of Jesus' final words to His disciples. Scripture John 21:5-6 Jesus: My sons, you haven't caught any fish, have you? Disciples: No. Jesus: Throw your net on the starboard side of the boat, and your net will find the fish. Devotional I'm not much of a naval guy. But having been on a few ships during my some of deployments, Meetings on a the USNS Comfort and Mercy Meetings on Flagships I needed to know a few nautical terms so as not to embarrass myself in front of my Navy brothers and sisters. Needed to know the difference between port and starboard, bow and stern. Important terms like galley, mess, and head. Both brothers served in the Navy Also wanted to be able to converse with them One a submariner for twenty years One an engineer for six years All our languages are a little difference, but many commonalities Never thought about what Jesus said until I read it again in The Voice “Throw your net on the starboard side of the boat…” The right side of the boat Not the wrong side How many times do we beat our heads against the wall because we are hard at work doing the wrong thing? I've been guilty of working hard on the wrong thing Sometimes physical labor Digging the wrong hole in the ground Cutting the wrong board Building the wrong wall Tearing down the wrong structure Sometimes mental Taking the wrong classes Reading the wrong books Watching the wrong programs Listening to the wrong teachers Sometimes spiritual Following the wrong guide Listening to the wrong voice How do we know what the right is? Get into God's word Listen for His voice Know His voice better than any other Do what He says when He says it Do the right thing! If you want to learn more about my church, you can find us at SAF.church. If you like the devotional, share it with someone. If you don't, tell me. I hope you'll join me again tomorrow for "A Little Walk with God."
