We learn about the Selena documentary, and the life, career, and death of the Tejano singer, who was killed by a disgruntled employee. We find out the evolutionary advantage of kissing, which animals do it, how scientists define "kissing," and why it actually could protect us from harm. Susie explains why raccoons might become the next domesticated animals, why they seem to be ushering in their pet era, and why experts are convinced it's inevitable. We discuss the new female test dummy (or smartie as Susie calls her), and why it took so long to get it made, why people still aren't happy, and why it's so expensive to make. We're mad at the Guinness World Book of Records again because of their evolving business model and the schemes they're using to make bank. And Susie talks about the Stiller and Meara documentary, about the comedy duo and their famous son, Ben Stiller, and why despite their fame, they're more relatable than you'd think.Brain Candy Podcast Website - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/Brain Candy Podcast Book Recommendations - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/books/Brain Candy Podcast Merchandise - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/candy-store/Brain Candy Podcast Candy Club - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/product/candy-club/Brain Candy Podcast Sponsor Codes - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/support-us/Brain Candy Podcast Social Media & Platforms:Brain Candy Podcast LIVE Interactive Trivia Nights - https://www.youtube.com/@BrainCandyPodcast/streamsBrain Candy Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastHost Susie Meister Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterHost Sarah Rice Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBrain Candy Podcast on X: https://www.x.com/braincandypodBrain Candy Podcast Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/braincandy (JOIN FREE - TONS OF REALITY TV CONTENT)Brain Candy Podcast Sponsors, partnerships, & Products that we love:For 50% off your order, head to https://www.dailylook.com and use code BRAINCANDYGo to https://cozyearth.com and use my code BRAINCANDY for up to 20% off!Get $35 off Aura's best-selling Carver Mat frames - named #1 by Wirecutter - by going to https://auraframes.com and using promo code BRAINCANDY at checkout.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Rules. Everyone has them. But where do they come from—and do they actually work? In this episode of Three Shades of Grey, we dive into the rules couples create when entering non-monogamy, with a special focus on swinging. From no kissing and no single men to same room only and no repeat partners, we unpack the most common rules, why people make them, and what they're really trying to protect. We talk about the difference between rules, boundaries, and agreements, how some rules help couples feel safe, and how others quietly create more anxiety than security. We also explore how rules evolve over time, which ones tend to backfire, and what healthier alternatives can look like as couples gain experience. If you've ever wondered whether your rules are serving your relationship—or holding it back—this episode is for you. When do ‘preventative’ injections cross the line and start making you look older? Can wearing a bra to bed really prevent sagging? And do you need to see a gynaecologist if you've never had sex? In this episode, we speak to Consultant Dermatologist and Specialist Cosmetic Injector, Dr Cara McDonald to get the truth about anti-ageing, skincare ingredients and cosmetic procedures. She gives her expert rating (out of 10) for the most popular skincare ingredients - from your hyaluronic acids to your retinoids - and if they’re really that great in the fight against ageing. We cover everything from why the operator is more important than the device, the dangers of over-filling and when removing all movement from your face can actually backfire… Dr Mariam breaks down the serious risks of ‘cosmetic tourism’, the differences between a ‘Plastic Surgeon’ and ‘cosmetic surgeon’ and how to identify a properly credentialed practitioner. Plus, we settle the "to bra in bed or not to bra in bed" debate, and whether it has any proven impact on sagging. And, in our quick consult, Dr Mariam answers a listener’s question about whether you still need to see that doctor if you've never done the deed. Sex therapist Dr Rica Cruz is on a mission to destigmatise sex in the deeply Catholic Philippines. As a practising Catholic herself, she believes sex is a divine gift and should be intertwined with faith rather than in conflict. Using social media to advocate for this, she earned a strong following which led to her own TV programme, Private Convos with Doc Rica. But that show was banned by the country's broadcast TV regulator, the MTRCB. Jay Behrouzi speaks with Dr Cruz about her fight for better sex education which she believes is the key to a safer society for women and girls. This episode of The Documentary, comes to you from Heart and Soul, exploring personal approaches to spirituality from around the world.

Throughout his storied career, the legendary Steven Soderbergh has directed a wide array of highly acclaimed films and/or hits (Out of Sight, Ocean's 11, Magic Mike, Black Bag, Logan Lucky, Contagion, Sex, Lies, & Videotape) and THIS is the film which earned him his only Oscar for Best Director in 2000. This was actually one of two films (the other being Erin Brockovich) which he was nominated for in 2000 which turned out to be a TRULY stellar year for him! It's a sprawling story about the American "War on Drugs" during the late '90's, focusing on several different characters on different sides of the law and various levels of the drug trade including two DEA agents (Don Cheadle, Luis Guzman), a judge who has just been appointed the National Drug Czar (Michael Douglas), the wife (Catherine Zeta-Jones) of a suspected drug dealer (Steven Bauer), that couple's conniving attorney (Dennis Quaid), a teenager (Erika Christiansen) who becomes addicted to crack, and one conflicted Mexican cop (Benicio Del Toro who won an Oscar for his performance). It's a complex story delving into a lot of moral grey areas and it's a testament to all of the talent involved (including Oscar-winning writer Stephen Gaghan) that this film was not only highly acclaimed but also a word-of-mouth blockbuster with audiences at the time of release. However twenty-five years later, it is not often mentioned by many as among Soderbergh's best....so how does this ambitious ensemble hold up? Let's find out if any one gets away clean.....Host: Geoff GershonEdited By Ella GershonProducer: Marlene GershonSend us a textSupport the showhttps://livingforthecinema.com/Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/Living-for-the-Cinema-Podcast-101167838847578Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/livingforthecinema/Letterboxd:https://letterboxd.com/Living4Cinema/

"Most of our stress in life comes from all of the incompletions in our lives." Becoming a better version of yourself starts with understanding the mechanics behind personal transformation. At its core, growth comes from developing integrity, building systems that eliminate overwhelm, and learning the discipline required to follow through on the commitments that shape your identity. When you treat your life as a designed creation—not an accidental series of reactions—you give yourself the structure needed to operate with clarity and confidence. Bruce Muzik shares powerful insight into how his years immersed in transformational work—particularly the discipline he learned under Werner Erhard—revealed that excellence begins with completion, honesty, and the willingness to confront what isn't working. Bruce explains how procedures, integrity, and emotional responsibility become tools that not only elevate performance but also strengthen a person's sense of aliveness. Bruce is a transformational educator and relationship expert who has helped tens of thousands of people strengthen their marriages and redesign how they live. Through his company, Love at First Fight, Bruce brings a systems-based and emotionally intelligent approach to helping people create lasting connection. Expert action steps: Connect before you communicate. No connection, no conversation. Be honest, not armoured. Vulnerability is simply telling the truth about what's happening inside you. Was hilft wirklich? Was verändert sich im Bett – und im Kopf? Und was haben eigentlich Walfrauen damit zu tun?Hört einfach rein in die neue Folge und erfahrt, warum die Wechseljahre der Anfang von etwas richtig Gutem sein können.Habt Ihr selbst erotische Erfahrungen, eine Frage oder Story, über die Yvonne & Nicole im Ladylike-Podcast sprechen sollen? A conversation with Damian Andrews of SHAIR.Care Podcast (Australia) in 2023.Russian dolls very well illustrates the brain's attempts to protect and guard us from repeat pain from situations experienced in the childhood development years. The real us, may have got stunted, where the brain built layers and layers around the inner child from the time of early developmental traumas and uncomfortable issues.By adulthood, maybe you no longer know who is the 'Real' you. You get a split second sight of him (very rarely), but before you are ready, he pops back in and disappears. When you get that split second sighting, you know you could get to like him, but as you hold up your hands to beckon him to stay, just as quickly, he disappears. (Make sense to anyone?)You learn to present a version of you, dependent upon the persona you think that group of people want to see or have got use to seeing; but it may not be the real authentic you. It may have got tiring living in that mould and you have outgrow that version of you, but the 'system' won't let you change and metamorphose into a different version of you. You are stuck. The coat no longer fits. So you self-soothe with P....Men are “Wild at heart”. That book (by that title) by John Eldredge – maybe is on to something. There is something that is not done “good enough” during childhood development. The brain then sets about trying to fill the deficits with coping strategies – Sex, Porn and/or Love Compulsive activities enter the mix, after the game console or sports, ain't doing it well enough.Get some help from The Kairos Centre. "Here Comes Santa Claus" by Mrs. Miller. She was discovered by the announcer from "Laugh-In", which should tell you all you need to know.2. "Silent Night" by Wing. Wing Han Tsang was from Hong Kong and started singing as a hobby when she moved to New Zealand. Surprisingly, she made it kinda big. "South Park" even parodied her back in the day.3. "White Christmas" by Tiny Tim. There's also "Silent Night", featuring a spoken-word break where he takes aim at hypocrites, fornicators, and child molesters. You know, just regular Christmas caroler stuff. 4. "Little Drummer Boy" by William Hung. Isn't it crazy to think there's a whole generation who has no idea who this "American Idol" treasure is? 5. "I Got a Cold for Christmas" by the Three Stooges. Not terrible, but not exactly a classic.6. "Jingle Bells" by William Shatner, featuring Henry Rollins. Yes, THAT Henry Rollins.7. "Santa Claws Is Coming to Town" by Alice Cooper, featuring John 5, Billy Sheehan, and Vinny Appice. 8. "The Night Before Christmas" by David Hasselhoff. This one is extra cheesy, but did you expect anything less?9. "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" by Regis Philbin. This one has a cameo by a pre-Oval Office Donald Trump, who offers Rudolph a job in place of Santa.10. "Jingle Hell" by Christopher Lee. Yes, one of the greatest actors of all time. He dabbled in heavy metal later in life. This actually isn't his only holiday song, either. He also did covers of "The Little Drummer Boy" and "Silent Night".11. "Away in a Manger" by the Brady Bunch. This one only features the vocal talents of Marcia, a.k.a. Maureen McCormick. It's from an album called "Merry Christmas from the Brady Bunch".See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

If you've ever swallowed your needs, kept the peace, and then randomly lost your shit over something tiny (hi, dirty spoon in the sink), this episode is for you. Therapist and author Tonya Lester is here to talk about conflict, boundaries, and what it really means to be “difficult” in a world that still rewards women for being nice, accommodating, and endlessly available. Tonya is the therapist women call when they're done being walked on. A Brooklyn-based psychotherapist with decades of clinical experience, she specializes in women's emotional health, conflict skills, and relationships. We dig into why so many women default to do nothing → do nothing → do nothing → FREAK OUT, how to stop building silent resentment brick by brick, and what it looks like to push back early and often—in love, in work, and in every relationship that actually matters. This is real-talk conflict management for women who are done disappearing to keep everyone else comfortable. In this episode, we get into: Why “being difficult” is actually a compliment when it means being honest, boundaried, and real The subtle ways women suppress their needs in relationships, families, and at work (while telling themselves “it's not a big deal”) The do-nothing-do-nothing-freak-out pattern—and how to catch yourself before you emotionally flip a table How to say hard things clearly and calmly: phrases you can steal for your next conflict at home or in the office The difference between healthy anger and full-on rage (and why anger is often a sign you still care) When ultimatums do have a place—and when they're just emotional terrorism How to stop over-functioning in your relationships (aka rowing both oars while the other person “rests”) What to do when your partner, boss, or friend refuses to collaborate—and how to decide if it's time to stay, shift, or go Tiny, doable ways to practice pushing back if you're conflict-avoidant but deeply over people-pleasing If standing up for yourself has ever been labeled “too much,” this conversation will help you see that maybe the problem isn't you—it's the system that benefits from you staying small. Anna Rollins, author of "Famished," joins us for an honest conversation about the intersection of purity culture, eating, body image, and sexual intimacy in marriage in general and especially Christian marriage. We explore what happened in the Christian movement around weight and body image that went beyond general cultural dysfunction and became particularly harmful in church spaces, such as Anna's church creating an eating based programs as she talks about here in and in her book. Drawing on research from Sheila Wray Gregoire's survey of 20,000 women (one of our favorite past guests), Anna unpacks the connection between body shame and sexual intimacy, including the often-hidden correlation between body shame and painful sex that many women don't realize exists. She shares her personal journey of moving from controlling her body through over-exercising to actually caring for and stewarding it well, how she's parenting with intention, and how her relationship with her body has drawn her at first farther but ultimately closer, ultimately, back to God. This conversation is essential for anyone navigating body image in marriage or raising children in the intersection of faith and culture. 2025 didn't ask for transformation, it demanded it. For me, that meant shedding so many layers of protection and armor to let myself be truly seen. In today's episode, we go deep on the difference between performing vulnerability and actually letting someone in. Because you say you want intimacy…but are you actually bringing your vulnerability, or are you throwing it like a weapon and calling it connection? We explore: What vulnerability actually means versus performing it or using it as a weapon Activiely choosing to go first in vulnerablity and how it can shift your entire relationship and love life, even when it doesn't feel fair - and how to completely shift that resistance entirely The art of feminine communication and learning to speak from your heart instead of your head The IMMENSE power you as a woman wield in relationship and in the world, and how to use it from a place of deep devotion to love itself The four questions you can ask yourself to access true vulnerability with an open heart The total energetic shift that makes you more magnetic than ever How to exercise more presence and trust with your partner You'll walk away with tools to access your true needs, speak from the heart, and embrace vulnerability as a source of connection rather than depending on intellectualizing or allowing fears to take over. --> Book a call with me to talk about options on how we can work together in 2026! The British poet Raymond Antrobus was six years old when his parents and doctors realized that his ears couldn't recognize a whole range of sounds. He was fitted with hearing aids and began a life of straddling the Deaf and hearing worlds, going to speech therapy and reading lips, learning British sign language, and attending both Deaf and hearing schools. By necessity, Raymond became an expert in communication and miscommunication, which are recurring themes in his poetry. This week, Anna talks to Raymond about his memoir The Quiet Ear: An Investigation of Missing Sound and what it was like growing up with a “panicky sensitivity to misunderstandings.” This episode was produced by Cameron Drews. The morbid exercise that Liz swears by for making better decisions in bed and everywhere else—and why thinking about your 85-year-old self might be the permission slip you need to stop worrying about how your thighs look in those pants. Why "friends with benefits" might mean something completely different to you than it does to your partner—and the crucial conversation most couples skip before slapping labels on their relationship (spoiler: this applies to marriage too). The biggest myth about what makes someone "good" in bed, and why Liz believes your sex life can transform no matter where you're starting from. That one body part you've never considered an erogenous zone—until Liz reveals hers and suddenly you're rethinking everything you thought you knew about turn-ons. The real reason habits fail (hint: it's not about willpower)—and why letting go of routines that once served you doesn't make you a failure, it makes you self-aware. Plus: the conversation starter deck that's saving marriages by getting couples on the same page about money, desire, childhood trauma, and the question "how much do you need to feel safe?" that revealed way more than Liz expected. In today's episode of The Jimmy Rex Show, Jimmy sits down with Amanda Kroepfl, one of the top sex and relationship coaches working today. Amanda has coached several members of Jimmy's community, she has spoken at We Are The They events, and the feedback has always been incredible. So Jimmy brought her on the podcast to talk openly and honestly about sex, intimacy, attraction, communication, and everything couples struggle with but rarely discuss.Amanda breaks down why it's so difficult for couples to talk about sex, why belief systems from childhood and religion shape adulthood intimacy, and how unspoken expectations quietly damage relationships. She explains the “squirrels” that hijack the brain, the role of masculine and feminine energy, scheduling sex, aftercare, fantasies, porn, nervous-system regulation, repairing a sexless marriage, and how partners can create safety instead of pressure.Jimmy shares his own experiences—from leaving a strict religious upbringing, to hiring sex coaches, to navigating shame and redefining intimacy in a healthy way. The conversation is raw, honest, and designed to help couples finally understand what's really going on beneath the surface. This episode is for married couples, people dating, men in Jimmy's community, and anyone who wants more connection, better communication, and a happier sex life. We got an update about "aphantasia," the condition where you cannot see mental images, and now we're wondering if we're the weird ones because the way we see the images is apparently strange??? We think we are on the precipice of a scientific discovery that will be named after us. Susie talks about a man who had his wife cryogenically frozen, but now it's awkward because he got a new girlfriend, so hopefully they don't bring the wife back to life or he's going to have a lot of explaining to do. We hear why female scuba divers are better than their male counterparts, and Sarah is soooo happy. We learn about a woman who was stabbed to death (including in the back) and authorities are still claiming it was a suicide. Predictably, Sarah's got a theory. Plus, we learn about a "reparations happy hour" where people of color drink for free thanks to donations from white people who aren't allowed to come, and we debate whether this is a good or bad idea.Brain Candy Podcast Website - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/Brain Candy Podcast Book Recommendations - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/books/Brain Candy Podcast Merchandise - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/candy-store/Brain Candy Podcast Candy Club - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/product/candy-club/Brain Candy Podcast Sponsor Codes - https://thebraincandypodcast.com/support-us/Brain Candy Podcast Social Media & Platforms:Brain Candy Podcast LIVE Interactive Trivia Nights - https://www.youtube.com/@BrainCandyPodcast/streamsBrain Candy Podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastHost Susie Meister Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterHost Sarah Rice Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBrain Candy Podcast on X: https://www.x.com/braincandypodBrain Candy Podcast Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/braincandy (JOIN FREE - TONS OF REALITY TV CONTENT)Brain Candy Podcast Sponsors, partnerships, & Products that we love:Get 40% off your first box PLUS get a free item in every box for life.
