On the 290th episode of the MalloryBrosPodcast, the Bros start with a realization that all of you who have been watching us for weeks, months and even YEARS have collected so much information on them and seen so many moments that you're basically FAMILY. The also talk about how the project has improved on second listen, but people online seem to be split on Kendrick Lamar's feature on the project. This sparks a big conversation about Kendrick's influence on the public reception to the album and Terrance starts a conversation on how these days you really can't have an opinon. In his words, "you're either like it or SHUT UP". The Bros have a good CONTROLLED back and fourth about this but ultimately agree .. these days, giving even your OPINION takes some heavy considersation before letting fly. Next the Bros talk about the recent viral situation at the BAFTA Awards where a man with Tourettes syndrome yells the N Word in the middle of the ceremoney as Michael B Jordan and Delroy Lindo present the first award of the night. It was a horrible situation for eveeryone involved and thanks to the broadcast not being edited or cut like it COULD HAVE ... this set social media on fire. The Bros have a great conversation about the situation, educating each other on the seriousness of Tourettes Syndrome and understanding the "Coprolalia" that comes with it while also focusing on the DISRESPECT that CAN'T be overlooked because of the disability. This is what made this situation one out of a movie. It's a good convo! The Bros talk about the crazy situation in Mexico with the death of a Cartel leader and the mayhem happening throughout because of it. Next, the Bros discuss the recent passing of Eric Dane, a beloved actor from Grey's Anatomy and Euphoria who died from a short battle with ALS. The guys discuss this haunting disease and the speed of it and turn the conversation into one about showing up and making moments count. NETFLIX has announced that we're getting Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Paquiao 2 in Septmember this year. This comes a week after Floyd announced he was fighting Mike Tyson in Exhibition, and UN-retiring to purse a big event. The Bros discuss the Sport of Boxing and how it's seemlingly honoring the money more than the sport. The biggest question is are they wrong if we all are tuning in and it's keeping boxing exciting? Lastly, the bros talk about the late passing of Rondale Moore, a 25 year old NFL Wide Reciever who took his life this past week. This is the most important part of the podcast episode. The bros talk about mental health and it's importance, but more importantly they discuss how they deal with their OWN mental health in moments current and past and share a strategy you can use with you friends and family that might REALLY help. La conferència anirà a càrrec de Carles Ortet, enginyer en Informàtica i Electrònica per la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona i la Universitat de Vic- Universitat Central de Catalunya, amb recerca en arquitectura de computadors i computació paral·lela. Avui dimecres informem que l'Ajuntament obre el procés d'adjudicació dels 12 habitatges municipals de lloguer accessible del carrer del Carme. A partir d'avui i fins a finals de març, es poden presentar les sol·licituds per optar al lloguer d'algun dels 12 habitatges que hi ha al bloc municipal del carrer del Carme. La convocatòria s'adreça a persones empadronades al municipi que compleixin els requisits establerts i té com a objectiu promoure l'accés a un habitatge digne i adequat a les necessitats de cada unitat de convivència. Avui en donem tots els detalls amb el regidor de Benestar i Família, Alejandro Pérez. El Carnaval al barri de Can Carbó i el berenar de Dijous Gras al Casal de la Gent Gran se celebren aquest dijous. Després que les dues activitats se suspenguessin per les fortes ventades, l'Ajuntament ha decidit reprogramar-les demà a la tarda. Pel que fa al Carnaval de Can Carbó, començarà a dos quarts de cinc de la tarda, amb diversos tallers infantils i jocs per a infants de 0 a 6 anys amb la col·laboració de MónKids. Tot seguit, a dos quarts de sis, hi haurà un espectacle amb la col·laboració de la regidoria d'Igualtat i una xocolatada popular. L'acte principal arribarà a les set de la tarda amb la rua, que comptarà amb una batukada a càrrec de Kalatrons. Tot plegat, amb la col·laboració i coordinació de Serveis Socials Especialitzats. Tallers al Carnaval de Can Carbó (Ajuntament de Lloret de Mar) El regidor de Benestar i Família, Alejandro Pérez, assenyala que l'objectiu és donar vida al barri i fomentar l'arrelament al municipi. “Donem més vida en aquest barri i alhora apropem i fem activitats al nostre municipi i fomentem l'arrelament a les nostres tradicions”  Alejandro Pérez El Carnaval de Can Carbó està obert a tothom. Pel que fa al berenar de Dijous Gras al Casal de la Gent Gran, consistirà en repartir coca de llardons i un refresc a tothom que tingui tiquet. El regidor assegura que la gent gran sempre està molt disposada a celebrar coses i es genera molt bon ambient. “És una celebració amb el bon ambient que sempre es genera al casal de la gent gran, amb la nostra gent gran, que sempre té ganes i il·lusió de poder celebrar” Alejandro Pérez El berenar de Dijous Gras es farà demà dijous, a les cinc de la tarda.

L'Ajuntament ha obert el procés d'adjudicació de 12 habitatges municipals en règim de lloguer assequible. L'edifici en qüestió, situat al carrer del Carme, es va desallotjar el 2023 i va estar un temps tapiat, fins que se'n va impulsar la reforma per poder posar els habitatges a disposició de la ciutadania. Ara s'ha obert la convocatòria, que s'adreça a persones empadronades al municipi que compleixin els requisits establerts. El regidor de Benestar i Família, Alejandro Pérez, remarca que els més destacats són tenir entre 18 i 35 anys i portar un mínim de tres anys empadronat a Lloret, a banda de no tenir cap habitatge en propietat. Uns criteris que s'han treballat en col·laboració amb els grups de l'oposició. “Hi ha habitatges d’1, 2 o 3 habitacions i, per treure-li el màxim rendiment, les sol·licituds es faran de manera individual a cada habitatge diferent i, d’aquesta manera, que hi vagi gent que tingui les necessitats que cobreix aquest habitatge específic”Alejandro Pérez Les llars tenen d'una a tres habitacions i l'objectiu és promoure l'accés a un habitatge digne i adequat a les necessitats de cada unitat de convivència. La iniciativa s'adreça al jovent, perquè és el col·lectiu que té més dificultats per accedir a un habitatge actualment. “Hem volgut que siguin habitatges per a joves, perquè hem analitzat que actualment és el col·lectiu que més problemàtiques té d'accés a l'habitatge”Alejandro Pérez Les persones o famílies que hi accedeixin tindran un contracte per 7 anys, un període que afavoreix que tinguin temps de preparar-se per accedir a un altre habitatge i, a la vegada, fomenta la rotació per poder afavorir a altres persones que ho necessitin.   “Màxim 7 anys perquè la intenció del lloguer assequible és ajudar a les persones a independitzar-se i també volem generar rotació, però ha de ser durant un llarg temps per deixar que les persones es puguin desenvolupar dins d'aquesta llar”Alejandro Pérez El termini per presentar sol·licituds s'ha obert aquest dijous i s'allarga fins al 31 de març. S'han de presentar de manera telemàtica a través de la Seu Electrònica de l'Ajuntament, tot i que també es pot fer presencialment a l'Oficina Local d'Habitatge o a l'Oficina de Correus. I've been looking for a way to celebrate America 250 as this year goes by and I don't want it to be relegated to July 4th or certain events. So, I thought maybe I would search for primary documents, written for or by the Founding Fathers (and a surrounding cast of historical characters) for as many of the days of the year as I can. Since I'm starting in February, I think it's fitting that my search brought me first to a set of letters exchanged between Phyllis Wheatley and General George Washington. Below is the poem that prompted Washington to write to the formerly enslaved poet, Phyllis Wheatley. His four kids spent decades wondering what happened to him. Their mother, Dorothy, didn't like to talk about George and she didn't want to answer any of her children's questions about him. As adults, the kids decided to search. They were given a clue from an unlikely source. And so they started to dig--figuratively and literally. What they discovered leads to one of the most shocking conclusions we ever seen. You can read their statements at PrisonersForPalestine.org and check out our November 30, 2025 episode for some background on the cases. Xinachtli From Xinachtli's support crew (Instagram at @FreeXinachtliNow): On January 1, Xinachtli (state name Alvaro Luna Hernandez) was transferred to the Carol Young Medical Facility. In the moment, this was a major victory getting him moved from McConnell, and Xinachtli shared that he felt the power of the people! However this victory was short-lived. The transfer was carried out without any notice to his attorney, and made Xinachtli unable to communicate with them before his latest court hearing on January 6, effectively blocking his right to counsel. Within days of the transfer, we also learned that Xinachtli had been placed in a cell with no running water, and a broken sink and toilet. In Xinachtli's words: "They bring me a bowl of water. I first use it to drink, and then I use the rest for hygiene for the remainder of the day. I also have not been able to flush the toilet in days. Prison conditions in the U.S. are deeply dehumanizing. For Xinachtli, who is attempting to recover after months of medical neglect, these conditions risk further delaying his recovery and compounding the harm he has already endured. We know that applying pressure works. A director of TDCJ called organizers earlier this month begging for an end to the "hundreds of calls." Contrary to their request, we will not stop until Xinachtli is FREE. Xinachtli's current demands are: That he be moved to a cell with running water and functioning plumbing. That he receive his ID card so he can purchase needed items and receive his commissary order from January 2. That he receive all of his personal property from the McConnell Unit. To learn how to advocate for these three FAM leaders now at Kilby CI and read the press release announcing the upcoming strike actions, check our shownotes : following their announcement of an upcoming labor strike, Melvin Ray, Robert Earl Council (Kinetik Justice), and Raoul Poole — three prominent voices in the film "The Alabama Solution" — were taken to Kilby Prison. In anticipation of the strike, the AL Dept. of Corrections has also reduced access to food in its prisons. This is a dangerous violation of [prisoners] constitutional rights. The Press Release announcing the strike is here: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 2, 2025 FREE ALABAMA MOVEMENT (FAM) ANNOUNCES STATEWIDE SHUTDOWN ADOC 2026 Effective February 8, 2026 Alabama — The Free Alabama Movement (FAM) announces a coordinated, statewide shutdown of Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) facilities beginning February 8, 2026. This nonviolent action comes in response to decades of unconstitutional sentencing practices, forced prison labor, and the ongoing humanitarian crisis throughout Alabama's prison system. With the release of the documentary The Alabama Solution, state officials can no longer deny or ignore the overwhelming evidence that Alabama's prison system is in catastrophic failure and requires immediate, sweeping reform. The documentary exposes systemic corruption, violence, and deliberate neglect that incarcerated people have endured for generations. The truth is no longer hidden behind prison walls — it is publicly available, undeniable, and morally urgent. Despite federal investigations, DOJ findings, and repeated warnings, the State of Alabama has failed to enact meaningful change. Therefore, incarcerated people across the state are exercising their lawful right to peaceful protest through a statewide shutdown and work stoppage. LIST OF DEMANDS Repeal Alabama's Habitual Felony Offender Act (HFOA) Abolish the outdated and excessively punitive enhancement statute that has produced life and virtual-life sentences far beyond any rehabilitative purpose and out of step with modern standards of justice. Make the Presumptive Sentencing Guidelines Retroactive Apply current presumptive sentencing standards to all eligible prior convictions so that people sentenced under older, harsher laws can receive the same fair and consistent treatment as those sentenced today. Make HJR 575 Retroactive (Drive-By Shooting Statute Reform) Apply the legislative clarification of Alabama's drive-by shooting statute retroactively so that individuals who were improperly charged or enhanced under the statute can receive review and relief. First-Time Offender / Capital Murder Reform Bill Create revised sentencing options for first-time offenders and end Juvenile Life Without Parole by providing parole eligibility after 20 years, recognizing the capacity for growth, change, and rehabilitation. Parole Board Reform and Clear, Objective Criteria Mandate transparent written standards, meaningful hearings, and review procedures that ensure fair, non-arbitrary parole decisions for every eligible incarcerated person. Medical Furlough & Compassionate Release Expansion Expand and enforce mechanisms for the release of elderly, terminally ill, severely disabled, and medically fragile individuals so they can receive appropriate care in the community instead of dying in prison. Establish a Statewide Conviction Review Unit Create an independent conviction review body with the authority and resources to investigate wrongful convictions, excessive sentences, and cases involving prosecutorial or judicial misconduct. Abolish Forced Prison Labor End uncompensated and coerced prison labor by guaranteeing fair wages, voluntary participation, safe working conditions, and basic labor protections for incarcerated workers. Strengthening Families Act (Including Conjugal Visits) Implement policies that protect and strengthen family bonds, including conjugal and overnight family visits, expanded contact visitation, increased access to phone and video communication, and parenting and family-support programs. With the undeniable evidence now in the open, we are left with no alternative but to demand justice through collective, peaceful action.
