They've got lobster on their mind!  Sam Smith is a BRIT Award, Grammy, Golden Globe and Oscar-winning singer and songwriter. They join us ahead of the release of their new album, Hazel Eyes, which is released on 21 August and features their new single, My Guy. This week, we're celebrating Pride with the movie that brought the drag queen road trip genre to America! Hot on the high heels of The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert from 1994 Australia comes this 1995 American release starring Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes, and John Leguizamo. When their car breaks down in small-town Nebraska, three drag queens must win the hearts and minds of the local townsfolk while evading a bigoted sheriff. With supporting turns by Stockard Channing, Blythe Danner, Chris Penn, Arliss Howard, and cameos by RuPaul, Naomi Campbell, Robin Williams, and the titular statuesque actress herself, the film opened at number one at the box office and is considered groundbreaking for being the first mainstream Hollywood production to depict drag queens. Along with RuPaul's popularity, the 1990 documentary Paris is Burning, and the aforementioned Priscila, interest in drag drove audiences to the cinema. Critics, however, were less enthused, but Swayze and Leguizamo were both nominated for Golden Globes, and the film has, of course, endured as an icon of queer cinema. Ertan Beskardes is a lifelong sailor entered in the 2026 Golden Gobe Race. He recently completed the Mini Globe Race, in which he circumnavigated in a 19' Class Globe 5.80 sailboat. He started both the 2018 and 2022 Golden Globe Races, but retired in each. His GGR boat is a Rustler 36, formerly Matmut, Jean Luc Van Den Heede's winning boat form the 2018 GGR. Bennett Yellin and Peter Farrelly talk about meeting each other in school and immediately connecting over their shared sense of humor. Bennett talks about substance abuse in college, while Peter discusses being a very hard driver at work. You talk about getting very lucky working with Eddie Murphy and David Zucker, and about bringing Bobby Farrelly into the group when they were writing movies together. Peter talks about being extremely loyal, living in Ojai, and never feeling like Los Angeles was really his town. Bennett talks about growing up in Beverly Hills in an Orthodox Jewish family. Peter tells a story about using the wrong knives while staying at Bennett's house because meat is not supposed to touch milk. Peter says he doesn't think Rotten Tomatoes is fair, and he also doesn't think criticism is very helpful. Bennett recently wrote a horror movie, Día de Muertos. Peter is a good audience member and wants everyone to contribute. Bennett knew everything about movies, while Peter knew almost nothing about them. Peter also has a very happy crew. Bio:  -Peter John Farrelly (born December 17, 1956) is an American film director, screenwriter, producer, and novelist. Along with his brother Bobby, the Farrelly brothers are best known for directing and producing quirky and romantic comedy films such as Dumb and Dumber, Shallow Hal, Me, Myself and Irene, There's Something About Mary, and the 2007 remake of The Heartbreak Kid. Farrelly solo-directed and co-wrote the comedy-drama Green Book (2018), which won the Audience Award at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2018, the Golden Globe Award for Best Screenplay, and the Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay. He has been married to Melinda Farrelly since December 31, 1996.
