Ok folks, in a time when we are encouraged to (and often do so) give our power over to the educators, the doctors, the 'scientists' and the lawyers because we think we aren't qualified, this interview is timely and very important. How many of you know of people who have spent 10's, maybe 100's of thousands of dollars on lawyer fees with no resolution and only more headaches? Why are so many lawyers so willing to take their clients' money without providing them with full remedy? It's time to take it ALL back... our parenting, the education of our children, our health and also our LEGAL matters! It's not as hard as you think, and Dr. Graves wants to teach you just how easy it is. He is tired of seeing innocent, good people getting screwed by the system.Dr. Graves, lawyer and former teacher, has always had a strong sense of justice and caught on very early in his career as a lawyer that there are some very basics tenets of law and justice, which led to an excellent track record for successful resolution for his clients.Dr. Graves has a course, at a very reasonable price that he offers so you too can be successful in court with confidence. His ultimate goal is to get this information to the children so that they can grow up understand the basics of the system to empower their lives and to avoid unnecessary harm in the court system in their adults lives. He's got a lot to share, and it's accessible to everyone! In this interview Dr. Graves shares with us:His background and how his late entry into law school came aboutHow all case law is simply based on storiesHow litigation is really not rocket science and how it has basic rules that anyone can learnHow you can learn the basic rules of law through is his concise courseWhy we, the people, need to take control of the judiciaryHow learning the key elements of any particular case is all you need to be successful in courtHow the Dean of the largest law school in Florida has stated that legal education is failing in the USHow Dr. Graves's unique earlier years led to his strong sense of justice and how he has always been a campaigner for the innocentThe fact that waiting for people in high places to do the right thing is an act of futilityWhy Dr. Graves looks to pre-WWI books for his legal sourcesWhy the primary principles of American justice are worth fighting for, yet most people, and even lawyers, don't know what they areIs it ever too late for recourse if a lawyer did not do his job effectively while defending you?How lawyers often don't do their jobs out of fear of offending the judgeThe fact that what he teaches in his course is not taught in law schoolWhat contempt of court is, and what it isn'tHow the law schools are no longer teaching primary principlesHow it is up to the people to learn these principlesHow to access his course (we'd appreciate if you used our affiliate link!) and leave a legacy for future generations with this basic yet profound knowledgeand more!If you know of anyone that is in a legal battle, or is about to enter the courts, then they need to know this information! Please pass this on so that more of us can gain greater control of our lives. It's time we keep our money in our pockets and avoid the opportunistic litigators who simply escalate the controversy to keep themselves on your payroll.Check out my store page for discounts on various products at: https://www.sovereigncollective.org/shop/Buy Dr. Graves's Course:If you like what you heard here then please share! Allergy Season and School - What is your plan? Spring is coming and maybe even here already in Carolina. School is in full swing for kids and they are filled with joy and excitement. They are back outside enjoying sports and play. For the parents of allergy suffering kids, this is a time for check ups, medicines and the countless forms required by school. I know! What a pain! The goal for parents and educators is to limit missed or unproductive school days due to asthma and allergies and to get the most out of the learning environment for all children. My goal is to help children be symptom free or as close as possible while also focusing on reducing mucous development which is a direct precursor to bacterial sinus and ear infections....and more Enjoy, Dr. M

In this episode we welcome back renown marketer Kirt Daunt to talk about putting marketing to work in your firm. In particular, we drill into what comes next after putting the marketing foundations (brand, website, case studies etc) in place. To squeeze the utmost out of this interview with Kirt, we pitched him headlong into real life scenarios that listeners will relate to, such as –Introducing current clients to a new service, as well increasing the uptake of services provided by other divisions of one's firmWhat to do if the work that you do is a “best kept secret” in your community plus how to tactfully play your hand while serving on the committee of the golf club or on the board of your children's schoolWhat comes next when a prospective client makes an expression of interest, such as downloading a strategy paper or coming along to one of your eventsThroughout the interview, Kirt shares many timeless marketing principles which have served him well at the top end of town, linking them to the scenarios being considered for a professional services firm. Literally, there are too many to list here but here's a sample –“When someone's adding value in your life, that's a relationship you come back to”“What do your customers care about?”“Marketing is the pursuit of ruthless experimentation”“Your marketing plan is as much about the things you are not going to do as the things you will do.”During the interview, Kirt made mention of a summary of some key concepts covered in his earlier podcast (Episode 69). In this second part of the two-part series, Lindsay Hoyt takes us inside her vision — from building a school to what happens now inside the classroom. Finding the right people, building a team, and unlearning have been part of the valuable process in creating the classical education classroom and teacher. Lindsay shares what the learning curve has been for the teacher of Cornerstone, the differences between this type of teaching and other schools and what's most important — the beautiful impact on the children. The school's motto is: Learn the truth. Do the good. Love the beautiful. This is spoken daily in the classroom along with the Pledge of Allegiance. Cornerstone Classical Academy is now in its second year of operation and increased enrollment from last year's K-6th grade to K-7th this year with 646 students in total. It is publicly funded and expanding to 12th grade with a vision for a total of 1200 students when this happens. Lindsay shares today what's next — a gymnasium that would serve as a hub for student life; theatre, gatherings, sports, and pep rallies. Lindsay is up to ongoing big things for the next generation to experience a space where students love learning, think for themselves and understand big questions — not just the right answers. You can listen online (below), download it to listen later, on your smartphone: all for free. Now find us on Instagram! In this week's episode, we present our amazing colleague Josh Yem. Josh's episode was fascinating for many reasons. Many a time, we all have significant setbacks on our journey to medicine, and Josh was no stranger to this said fact. After his first unsuccessful application, he took the initiative, made various changes, and sought experiences that made him the ideal candidate when he reapplied, rather than fall down the cycle of despair. Josh shares with the listeners what he did in his gap year and how he conveyed his maturity in that period in his application. He spoke at length about crafting a personal statement, especially given that he was informed, when he went back for feedback, that it wasn't well crafted when he first applied. This may have impacted his application negatively. Did I also say he was a music major in the classics??? For this and more, tune in and join this episode! Midst July after hosting a room on Clubhouse I was invited to join Michael Riscica on his podcast to talk about life, the Architecture Industry and building the Architecture Social. Here is the description from the episode:Some people take a long and winding route to realize that architecture is the field for them. Stephen Drew is not one of them. He always knew that he wanted to be an architect. He did temporarily entertain the idea of becoming a doctor, but his love for drawing and designing won out. Even his friends always assumed that he would become an architect. Stephen was passionate about graphic design and geography, which is an unusual combination. He went to the University of Westminster – that was his first time in London. He graduated into the global economic crisis and was worried about finding a job. Encouraged by a friend (who is now a famous You Tuber), he sent out a large number of CVs and ended up landing a job in a top firm as his first job.In today's episode, Stephen talks about his experience working in recruiting for architecture firms. He explains what architects need to understand about recruiters and also talks about the ins and outs of finding a job as an architect. Stephen also discusses the project that he started during the pandemic, Architecture Social. He explains what it is, how it started, and why it's interesting to young architects. Listen in to hear Stephen's thoughts on the word community, what he thinks about the Clubhouse app, and his advice for architects applying for jobs. What You'll Hear on This Episode: What inspired Stephen to pursue a career in architectureWhere Stephen went to architecture schoolWhat happened after architecture schoolWhat Stephen is doing todayWhat the recruitment process looks like for StephenHow Stephen feels about doing recruitment workArchitecture SocialWhat Stephen thinks about ClubhouseThe use of the word communityStephen's advice for aspiring architectsWhat Stephen knows now that he didn't know thenThe book that changed everything for StephenStephen's favorite resource, product, or gadgetStephen's best time saving trickHow listeners can find StephenTop Three Takeaways from This Episode:It's important to understand the recruiter's role.Understand what community really means.Become a better version of yourself.Stephen's Advice for Aspiring Architects:“It always changes over time, but the things that I think are constant is that don't worry about whatever other people are doing but hold yourself accountable and keep pushing yourself.Favorite Quotes:“Don't doubt yourself too much.” – What Stephen knows now that he didn't know then.“A book that's been really helpful is How to Win Friends and Influence People.” –The book that changed everything for Stephen “I would love to say it's not a mobile phone, but the mobile phone is both a blessing and a curse.” –Stephen on his favorite resource, product, or gadget“I'm not a list person, OK? An end goal isn't always going to be what leads one to the path they are meant to be on. Things change. You change. Passions change. Ideas change. Goals change. Life is an adventure, especially when trying to figure out your career path. Instead of putting the pressure on yourself to have a concrete end goal, allow the journey you're on to take you there. By embracing the adventure and sticking to the journey, the right path will find you.Joshua Cluff, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, has an unusual narrative. His narrative wasn't anything like his high school friends who chose to believe that they would fall into their place and ended up miserable in their jobs. His narrative also wasn't to be a doctor or a lawyer, or follow the footsteps of his parents. Joshua instead got really courageous in his journey and took on the adventure. He took five years of time in between high school and college to really have an adventure. Those five years that he took to figure himself out before jumping onto a path, was the best decision he has made in his entire life. By staying true to the adventure, Joshua found himself in something he truly loves, with therapy and psychology, and is now a Licensed Clinical Psychologist at Clear View Psychology Services. He works with a team of experienced clinicians to provide progressive, evidence-based assessment and consultation services to adolescents and adults in wilderness therapy programs, residential treatment programs, and in the community, to improve client care and treatment outcomes. On this episode of Success is Subjective, Joshua joins Joanna to share his clumsy and unscripted journey that led him to a life he loves and wouldn't trade the world for. Joshua, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist for young adults believes that he would not be where he is if he were to have gone straight to a degree after high school. Listen in for insight how Joshua's glass half full outlook and dedication to the adventure allowed him to find work that he couldn't be more happy with, and be able to bring a wide variety of unique life experiences to his clients seeking to navigate and find balance, and peace in life's journey. What You Will LearnHow college was never a topic growing upWhat led Joshua to join the military straight out of high schoolWhat led Joshua to join wilderness therapy straight out of the militaryHow a clear vision of his passions helped Joshua tremendously in collegeHow 5 years in between high school and college was the best decision Joshua madeJoshua's shift from therapy to psychological assessmentsHow trusting the adventure now still motivates Joshua even in his careerThe importance of keeping strength and digging deep in what you desire to do in lifeConnect with Joshua CluffDr. Joshua J. About the Guest: Born and raised in Berkeley, CA by his incredible mother who valued hard work and education. Dre listened well and received his Bachelor's degree from Occidental College, kept listening to his mom and received his Master's in Counseling from Long Beach State and is still listening to his mom because he is in process of getting his Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Leadership from Touro University. Dre wears many hats but the one he most favors is that of father to his beautiful and energized daughter Mia (7). Currently, Dre is the Dean of Campus Interventions at Sac City Campus. Dre is an engaging speaker and has delivered hundreds, if not thousands of meaningful, thought provoking, inspiring, and informative presentations. Today's high school students don't just rely on websites and viewbooks. They turn to social media to help them get a complete picture of life at a particular college. At some schools, the reverse happens, too. Some colleges and universities (not Bucknell) actually look at an applicant's social media to give them a fuller picture of the prospective student. In this episode of College Admissions Insider, Becca Haupt, the Senior Assistant Director of Admissions at Bucknell University, delivers a deep dive into the world of social media.Becca and the hosts discuss:What prospective students and their families should be looking for when examining a school's social channelsHow to go beyond the school's official channels to see what people are "unofficially" saying about a schoolWhat high school students should do if they're applying to a school that reviews applicants' accountsHow to keep a healthy outlook about college applications when looking at other people's posts Read a transcript for this episodeIf you have a question, comment, or idea for a future episode, email podcast@bucknell.edu.Links:General info about applying to BucknellBucknell Custom ViewbookInformation for prospective studentsInformation for parents of prospective students@BucknellU on YouTube@BucknellU on Facebook@BucknellU on Instagram@iamraybucknell on Instagram

Chap. 95 - Learning in Christ's School What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. Psalm 25:12. {OHC 101.1} Jesus has opened a school for the education and training of His chosen ones, and they are ever to be learning to practice the lessons that He gives them, in order that they may know Him fully. {OHC 101.2} Those who think they are very nearly good enough, and do not work diligently for the perfection of Christian character, will set up idols in their hearts, and will continue to practice sinful habits until sin will no longer appear sinful.... {OHC 101.3} Jesus offers Himself to every sin-sick soul, to every soul who is struggling to overcome. The Holy Spirit is making intercession for every sincere wrestler, and Christ will make His words to be spirit and life, the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth. But you will certainly fail if you permit the devil to control your mind, to guide your imaginings.... God will not be trifled with; He will not accept a divided heart. He claims entire, wholehearted service. He has paid the ransom money of His own life for every son and daughter of Adam.... {OHC 101.4} Christ has a claim upon every soul; but many choose a life of sin. Some will not come unto Jesus that He may give them life. Some say, "I go, sir," to His invitation; but they do not go; they do not make an entire surrender to abide in Jesus alone, which is life and peace and joy unspeakable, and full of glory.... Will you not rise to be wise and to make diligent work for eternity? Seek the grace of Christ with the whole heart, might, mind, and strength.... {OHC 101.5} God has given you a right to take hold of Him through the prayer of faith. Believing prayer is the very essence of pure religion, the secret of power with every Christian.... {OHC 101.6} Take time to pray, to search the Scriptures, to put self under discipline to Jesus Christ. Live in contact with the living Christ, and as soon as you do this, He will take hold of you and hold you firmly by a strong hand that will never let go. {OHC 101.7} --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/tawasv/message

#40: Early retirement may seem glamorous when you’re dreaming about it….Sleeping in every day. Going jogging mid-day. Picnicking on a random Tuesday. Flying off to vacation on a moment’s notice. Wandering abroad for months at a time. But once early retirement is actually your life, it’ll feel different. You have to be intentional about it to make sure it lives up to your expectations. This week, I invited Anita Dhake – a lawyer turned early retiree who’s retirement plan has shifted over time – to share her story about retiring from the law at 33 to travel the world, what she’s learned along the way, and why she no longer travels full-time.We discuss:Why she walked away from a high-powered law firm career after graduating from an elite law schoolWhat motivated her to retire early, and how she came up with her FIRE numberHow she tackled student debt at the same timeHow much she had in the bank on the day she FIRE’d…and how much she has nowHow retiring early actually made health insurance easierHow many countries she’s traveled to since retiring, and why long-term travel is so difficult compared to vacation travelWhy she ultimately stopped long-term traveling and what she’s doing now insteadDid anything in Anita’s story surprise you? Do you agree with her view on long-term travel? Would you do anything differently? Photo by Craig Marren via Flickr Is Gun Play Really Okay? A generation ago, gun play was an acceptable part of childhood. Parents gave their kids toy guns as gifts -- yes, even Red Ryder BB guns! (and yes, that's A Christmas Story reference) -- and boys regularly played Cops and Robbers and War both at school and in the neighborhood. Today, we're a little more leery of gun play. And no wonder. Mass shootings seem to happen with alarming regularity, and without exception, the shooters so far have been male. No one wants their son to grow up to be the next school shooter. No one wants their son to kill another human being in anger. So, yeah -- we're understandably nervous when our boys nibble their toast into a gun shape and say, "bang!" But what's the best way to respond to boys' fascination with guns and weapons? Note ~ Girls play with guns, too. This is my friend's daughter playing at the beach with some conveniently shaped sticks just recently: In this episode, Jen & Janet discuss: Why boys are so attracted to gun play The benefits of gun play (Yes -- there ARE benefits!) The risks of gun play, especially for African-American boys (12 year old Tamir Rice was playing with a toy gun when he was shot by police.) Common sense guidelines for gun play How teachers and childcare professionals can uphold school rules that ban pretend violence without shaming boys Links we mentioned (or should have!) in Episode 111: Gun Play -- American Journal of Play article by professor emeritus Jay Mechling Voices on Gun Play - round-up of parents' thoughts, feelings and concerns regarding gun play, by Janet Is Gun Play OK? -- article by Jen Weapons Play is OK -- blog post by Jen (apparently answering the question she posed in the above article!)
