At the 2025 National Membership Meeting of Jewish Voice for Peace in Baltimore, MD, thousands of anti-Zionist Jews gathered to reaffirm their opposition to Israel's occupation of Palestine and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians—and to reject the antisemitic notion that the political ideology of Zionism represents all Jews. In this vital and wide-ranging discussion recorded during the JVP gathering in Baltimore, TRNN's Marc Steiner sits down with self-identified Palestinian Jews Esther Farmer and Ariella Aïsha Azoulay to discuss the complexities of Jewish identity and belonging today, the historical origins of Israel, and “the way that Zionism destroyed both Palestine and the diverse modes of Jewish life” that predate and reject the Zionist project.Ariella Aïsha Azoulay is a Palestinian Jew of African origins, film essayist, curator, and professor of modern culture and comparative literature at Brown University. Antisemitism is a real, violent, and pervasive scourge that spans the globe, but as anti-Zionist Jews like Molly Kraft argue, conflating opposition to Israel with antisemitism will make Jewish people less safe, not more. “Any systematic review of antisemitism must separate antisemitism from the Israeli state's claims to represent all Jewish people, or more precisely, all Jewish safety,” Kraft writes in The Grind. “This is both because no colonial state can provide safety as it destroys and expels Indigenous populations, but also because Jewish safety will only come through the destruction of all oppressive systems.” In the latest installment of “Not in Our Name,” a Marc Steiner Show series bringing together voices across the Jewish world speaking out against Israel's Occupation and destruction of Palestine, Marc Steiner speaks with Kraft about the need to accurately identify and fight antisemitism while forcefully rejecting Zionists' attempts to weaponize antisemitism to perpetuate genocidal violence and justify repressive censorship.Molly Kraft is a Canadian labor and community organizer, writer, a founding member of the Jews Say No to Genocide Coalition, and co-founder of Standing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) - Toronto.Producer: Rosette SewaliStudio Production: Cameron GranadinoAudio Post-Production: Alina NehlichHelp TRNN continue producing radically independent news and in-depth analysis by following us and becoming a monthly sustainer.Sign up for our newsletterFollow us on BlueskyLike us on FacebookFollow us on TwitterDonate to support this podcast

Whether organic or artificial, the recent reports of flyers being dropped in London threatening Zionist-Jews, and the recent UK incident of Jewish kids on buses being attacked by other kids off the street, are examples of a rising chaos that is without context. However, we know that a woman in Canada holding her arm up like a National-Socialist and saying ‘Final Solution' was doing so as a Jew to smear Palestinian protestors; we know a man in the US putting swastikas on signs had a Jewish name and was looking to smear Republicans; we know that Maccabi Tel Aviv soccer fans in Amsterdam were ripping flags down from a private residence in a foreign country, disturbing the peace of a flood victim memorial, and attacking cab drivers, all while chanting “death or Arabs,” long before mobs gathered in resistance or some random person said ‘cancer Jews'; we also know that an Atlantic hit piece, written by the Jewish Franklin Foer, on the incoming presidential administration in the US being ‘the most Anti-Semitic Cabinet in Decades' is totally in contrast with nearly every appointment-pick being a Jewish-Zionist, Christian-Zionist, or zealot looking for war in Iran. What this tells us, alongside of 79% of Jews voting for Democrats, who receive half their campaign money from Jews, and $100 million dollar given by the Jewish Mariam Adelson to her ‘savior' who won the US Presidential election, there are multiple factions looking to make Jews victim in order to just censoring speech, protest, press, and even guns in the case of the Jewish Michael Bloomberg. We also know that according to the Council on American Islamic Relations that nearly 49% of Muslim students are being harassed or mocked in schools simply for being Muslim, most having never been to a protest. This is a constant theme that has been increasing since 2013, and a true definition of rising anti-semitism, a term which has been hijacked like the words holocaust or pogrom. In fact, despite the blatant disregard for peace or the law in Amsterdam by Jewish fans, Benjamin Netanyahu accused respondents of attacking Jews “just for being Jews,” and said that the response was nothing more than a “pogrom,” a term that refers to the calling for massacre of a particular group of people - Palestinians, Russians, etc. As is the case with holocaust being a mass killing by fire - Hiroshima, Nagasaki. Either way you divide this issue you find one group or another being made victim and given special protections against the rights of others; you find common Jews being made victim to violence by bigots fed either leftwing or rightwing propaganda; you find calls for war. All of this is setting the stage for literal armageddon, when even that is metaphoric like the Promised Land. This show is about understanding, peace, and context. If we neglect to approach these subjects as such then we are reduced to the rhetoric of the Jewish Communist Ilya Ehrenburg, who called to kill all Germans, just as today there are calls to kill the Russians, Palestinians, Ukrainians, Americans, Christians, Jews, Muslims, and so on.-FREE ARCHIVE (w. ads)SUBSCRIPTION ARCHIVEX / TWITTER FACEBOOKWEBSITEPAYPALLEAVE A REVIEW ON APPLECashApp: $rdgable EMAIL: rdgable@yahoo.com / TSTRadio@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/tst-radio--5328407/support.

The genocide in Gaza has brought the issue of Israel — and what it represents for Jewish people — into the forefront of Jewish communities worldwide. The powerful influence of the Israel lobby on Israel’s image in the United States makes this issue highly contentious and deeply complex. In this episode of the Scheer Intelligence podcast, host Robert Scheer and Lara Friedman, president of the Foundation for Middle East Peace (FMEP), a nonprofit dedicated to fostering peace between Israel and Palestine, explain — as two Jewish individuals — how they navigate these complex issues, both in their professional work and personal lives. Drawing on her experience working with the U.S. Foreign Service in Jerusalem around the time of the Oslo Accords, Friedman offers a complex view of the politics of the situation. Friedman discusses not only the evolving Jewish relationship to Israel but also the plight of the Palestinians who are often subjected to displacement, violence and death. Friedman highlights a critical distinction when discussing the Oslo Accords: unlike most treaties, which are based on a balance of interests, the Israel-Palestine agreement is rooted in a balance of power. This dynamic, which heavily favors Israel, was recognized by Friedman: “I think that became very clear as the underlying dynamic of Oslo very, very quickly.” When it comes to interpreting Israel, Friedman points out the difficulty in engaging with its defenders. “The entirety of Israel's existence has been grounded in a series of narratives, and it's almost a pick a long menu for which narrative best suits you at what moment,” she tells Scheer. The narrative turning Hamas’ recent attack on Israel into a justification of the genocidal attack on Gaza has made it very difficult for anti-Zionist or non-Zionist Jews to express themselves. Friedman conveys her frustration: “I'm now living in a world where it doesn't matter what your level of faith is, it doesn't matter what your genealogy is, it doesn't matter your self identification. If you're not deeply Zionist in your political outlook, then you're not really a Jew.”

In this episode of 'Here I Am With Shai Davidai,' Gabi Schiller shares her background, describing herself as a loud and confrontational Jew, especially when encountering antisemitism. She recounts her journey into activism, which was catalyzed by the conflict between Israel and Hamas in May 2021. This event made her realize the extent of hatred towards Israel and Jews, prompting her to become more involved in social media activism and eventually join the organization Stand With Us as an international senior educator. Gabi discusses her upbringing in a conservative Jewish household and her initial disconnection from her Jewish identity, which changed after witnessing antisemitism firsthand. She emphasizes the importance of the Dead Sea Scrolls in affirming the Jewish historical connection to Israel. Gabi also talks about her role at Stand With Us, where she works with high school students to combat antisemitism and educate them about Jewish history and Israel. The conversation shifts to the challenges faced by Jewish students in high schools and colleges, highlighting incidents of antisemitism and the lack of adequate responses from school administrations. Gabi stresses the importance of schools being willing to engage in dialogue and adopt policies to protect Jewish students. She also shares her frustration with anti-Zionist Jews, whom she feels betray their community by aligning with anti-Israel sentiments. Gabi reflects on the emotional impact of witnessing antisemitic incidents, particularly a disturbing event at Columbia University where Jewish students were harassed. She expresses her fear and horror at the parallels to historical antisemitism and the importance of standing up against such hatred. The episode concludes with Gabi discussing her social media activism under the name Yehuda Amram, aiming to represent and speak for many Jews who share her sentiments. She also highlights the importance of Jewish symbols and solidarity in the face of rising antisemitism. Join us as we shed light on these critical conversations and work towards a future free from hate.

Jews are 0.2% of the global population and anti-Zionist Jews an even smaller percentage, so Zach's perspective and expertise are both unique and urgently needed during this time. Zach provides ample historical context on Palestine and Israel and points to the fact that for much of history, Jews, Muslims, and Christians lived side by side without problems. We discuss the importance of nomenclature especially when it comes to defining what Palestinian even means. Zach asserts that to want Palestinian liberation is not antisemitic, that we must keep engaging in conversations with those who see things differently, and that the tides are turning.  I am reminded once again that change takes time — years if not decades, and I derive so much hope from people like Zach who are leading the way in teaching us, even as it means clashing with his own community.  Learn more from Zach through his Instagram, Palestine Nexus website, and upcoming Palestine-Israel 101 course.  Please enjoy the scholarly and enlightening — Dr. Zachary Foster.

(Bonus) The Balfour Declaration was a public statement issued by the British Government in 1917 during the First World War announcing its support for the establishment of a "national home for the Jewish people" in Palestine, then an Ottoman region with a small minority Jewish population. The declaration was contained in a letter dated 2 November 1917 from the United Kingdom's Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Lord Rothschild, a leader of the British Jewish community, for transmission to the Zionist Federation of Great Britain and Ireland. The text of the declaration was published in the press on 9 November 1917. Immediately following their declaration of war on the Ottoman Empire in November 1914, the British War Cabinet began to consider the future of Palestine; within two months a memorandum was circulated to the Cabinet by a Zionist Cabinet member, Herbert Samuel, proposing the support of Zionist ambitions in order to enlist the support of Jews in the wider war. A committee was established in April 1915 by British Prime Minister H. H. Asquith to determine their policy towards the Ottoman Empire including Palestine. Asquith, who had favoured post-war reform of the Ottoman Empire, resigned in December 1916; his replacement David Lloyd George favoured partition of the Empire. The first negotiations between the British and the Zionists took place at a conference on 7 February 1917 that included Sir Mark Sykes and the Zionist leadership. Subsequent discussions led to Balfour's request, on 19 June, that Rothschild and Chaim Weizmann submit a draft of a public declaration. Further drafts were discussed by the British Cabinet during September and October, with input from Zionist and anti-Zionist Jews but with no representation from the local population in Palestine.

If you've been keeping up with the news, you've probably noticed a group of Jews who have protested in a different style than most when it comes to Israel. In fact, these protests aren't pro-Israel rallies. They're anti-Zionist rallies that have taken to pro-Hamas rhetoric and slanders that are quite dangerous for Zionist Jews globally. From takeovers of government buildings to blockades, Jewish Voice for Peace has taken advantage of the vulnerable place Israel is in and has capitalized on the opportunity to gaslight Jews and harm the Zionist narrative. Author Arnie Bernstein has had several run-ins with Jewish Voice for Peace. In this podcast, he describes to Chaz, host of Bad Jew, their origins, their mission, their hypocritical actions, and how they really aren't "pro-peace" whatsoever. Big Movie Analysis Kari and Float discussed the movie 'Big'. They delved into the plot, the symbolism, and the controversial themes present in the film. They also touched upon the directorial and production choices, such as creating the Zoltar machine for the movie. The conversation revealed their different interpretations of the movie, with Kari seeing it as a light-hearted coming-of-age film and Float seeing it as a horror movie. They ended the discussion with plans to continue exploring the movie's themes and implications. Attraction to Trauma: Concerns and Cautions They speculated on the potential reasons why people might be attracted to situations or people that remind them of past traumas. Float expressed his concern about men who seek to work with prepubescent children, noting that his experience has led him to worry for the children's safety. They concluded their discussion with a warning to be cautious of men who want to work with children and acknowledged the naivety of people who assume everyone thinks and acts like them. Hollywood's Trans Infiltration: A Discussion Float and Kari discussed the film "Big" and its influence on their perspectives. They also delved into the topic of Hollywood and its control mechanisms, including contracts and the use of fear and coercion to manipulate celebrities. They also touched upon the controversial love scene between the adult woman and the teenage boy, and how it would be perceived differently in today's society. They concluded by discussing the movie's theme of child abduction and how it was portrayed in a seemingly innocent light. Explicit Content, Dylan Mulvaney, and Air Travel Discomforts They criticized the trend of more explicit content in entertainment, attributing it to the influence of Zionist Jews. The pair also touched on the recent controversy involving Dylan Mulvaney's Budweiser commercial and the challenges of air travel due to height. They debated the appropriateness of reclining seats on airplanes, considering factors such as legroom, comfort, and courtesy to fellow passengers. They expressed dissatisfaction with airlines and their business model, which prioritizes profits over passenger comfort. They suggested that everyone write a letter to the airline to express their discomfort and acknowledge the need to find a solution to make their flights more comfortable. All this and much more...

In this episode, Oden talks to Nathaniel Flakin, a historian in Berlin, about the history of socialist anti-Zionist Jews. Nathaniel explains the context surrounding the rise of Zionism, including the age of nationalism, imperialism, and colonization, as well as why socialism is fundamentally incompatible with Zionism. Importantly, Oden and Nathaniel explore the lessons we can draw from this history, and why the solution to the conflict is to fight for a single, secular, socialist Palestine on its historic territory, with democratic rights for all its inhabitants. Nathaniel has published the anticapitalist guide book “Revolutionary Berlin,” as well as a biography of the Jewish Trotskyist resistance fighter Martin Monath, both available from Pluto Press. Flying over Full Moon on my Vibrating Broom, I deliver my spooky s3x-positive Ode to Halloween to spark the scene as well as our newest Bonoboville road, “Poet Avenue"... Warning: Explicit Conversations About Politics, Culture, & S3xuality!   So, it's been 3 weeks since “Israel's 9/11” when Hamas horrifically attacked Israel, & then Israel horrifically attacked Gaza, which it is still attacking & attacking… in a frenzy of atrocity after atrocity. On this FDR, I join the voices of fellow anti-Zionist Jews saying, “No! Not in our name! Ceasefire now.” But how? Friends of Bonobos (with Lola ya Bonobo) invited me on a backstage tour of the San Diego Zoo bonobos, so Max & I held a “Peace Summit” with the quintessential peacemakers: the bonobos. Seeing them made me even more certain that peace is the way - even in Palestine…. Ceasefire for Palestine! Ceasefire for the hostages... Ceasefire for Israel! The only ones who won't benefit from a ceasefire are Hamas, because Hamas feeds off of everyone's outrage over Israel's war crimes. Bibi Netanyahu is dead wrong (of course). The best thing Israel can do now is offer to negotiate with Hamas, to neutralize the “enemy” with peace, like bonobos... Part of our Bonobo Peace Summit involved dining at the wonderful Palestinian restaurant, Fairouz, recommended by a Callin listener who took our mutual friend the great Abby Martin there after screening her film “Gaza Fights for Freedom.” Fairouz is also an art gallery filled with vibrant paintings by Ibrahim Al Nashashibi, whose brother Sami Al Nashashibi (of one of Jerusalem's oldest Palestinian families) is an excellent host, his broad smile seeming to stretch across the great divide between Palestine & Israel, Muslim & Jew; with love, art, poetry & great food. My brother Steve & sister-in-law Tiya also took us to the Fish Market where we slurped up fresh oysters, said to be aphrodisiacs. Sounds fishy, but they did trigger great sex—great disabled, senior sex, that is—later at the hotel. Or maybe we were just inspired by the bonobos, but it was delicious AND orgasmic, in that order. Max felt so good, he almost tossed his wheelchair off the balcony. We also visited "Embracing Peace," aka “Unconditional Surrender” or the “Kissing Statue,” more proof that The Bonobo Way of peace through pleasure works for human apes too. It's worth a try. Joe Biden continues to subsidize and sponsor Israel's ethnic cleansing in Gaza and ignoring an already huge and growing antiwar movement. Yet the Democrats keep cramming him down the voters' throats despite abysmal polling numbers. And when he loses, they will blame the Left. Another terrible week in Gaza with 7,000 killed by Israel's war crimes. We're also seeing escalations in eastern Syria and on the Israel-Lebanese border. In the U.S., Zionists are attacking, canceling and getting people with pro-Palestinian politics fired. But, also, movements all over the world are fighting back. In the Capital, hundreds of anti-Zionist Jews were arrested calling for an end to U.S. support of Israel. In New York's Grand Central Station, hundreds more were arrested saying "Not in Our Name, Ceasefire Now." In the latest Scrappy Sunday, we discuss the ongoing attack and the U.S. and Biden's complicity in it. We discuss how this further sinks Biden's chances of re-election in 2024. Censorship of voices supportive of Palestinian liberation from Zionist settler colonialism and occupation is nothing new. Journalists, members of the academy, and even schoolteachers have found themselves out of a job after voicing criticism of Israel in the past. Katie Halper, a popular podcast host and former contributor to The Hill TV's Rising, is the latest big name casualty of such censorship. Halper had worked for The Hill TV for three years when she was terminated over a dispute with a higher up regarding a monologue in which she defended Rep. Rashida Tlaib's description of Israel as an apartheid state. This week Lara and Michael cover the occupation siege on the Palestinian town of Huwara, where the zionist settlers are carrying out pogroms daily. We also discuss the siege on the Shu'fat refugee camp following some success from Palestinian resistance. We hold space for the names of the martyrs killed by the occupation this week and talk about how because of the brutal conditions, Palestinian are unable to live life on the most basic of levels. This is why resistance is the only option. We chat about the efforts of Palestinian resistance to repel the zionist colonial settlers and soldiers in Sheikh Jarrah and Isawiya. Lara sheds light on the early Zionist plan to poison the drinking water of Palestinians as a part of a multipronged effort of murder and forceable displacement. War criminal Netanyahu released a new book, and Michael is speechless as The Jerusalem post concedes that anti-zionist Jews have existed for longer than Zionist Jews.

He liked me as a former drug dealer. He's been in jail, he's been homeless and like myself, he understands his mission is to do all he can to help others. Now that he's been given a second chance, his name is branch east LA, and he is [00:01:00] a poet, a storyteller, and the author of 22 books.[00:01:03] Ranch was born in Osaka, Japan and my favorite country. And he has traveled the world extensively in this interview, we're going to be focusing on his book title. God, I believe I wanted to focus on this book in particular because of how easy it is to read and understand. He did post-graduate work at the university of Houston. Got out of there with his master's in education administration. And he also holds an Oxford master's of theology from, uh, Trinity Bible college and seminary brand shares. How strength of choice can change consequences.[00:01:50] And this man is known worldwide for his contemporary short story pros that reveals emotions and issues often experienced, but not always a [00:02:00] voice. Now this is the longest interview I've ever conducted. And the subject matter is so important that the full version of this episode will be available to both paid and non-paid listeners as well.[00:02:12] I really hope this helps someone.[00:02:16] Branch, thank you so much for joining me on the sex drugs and Jesus of podcasts that I'm so excited that today we get to talk a lot about Jesus, who was a part of our namesake here. How are you feeling today? [00:02:32] Branch: Hey buddy. I feel great. Thanks for having me on your show. I've been looking forward to this time together.[00:02:39] De'Vannon: so have I and what delicious and sweet time it will be. And so, uh, so today we're going to talk a lot about the beginnings and the root work that is done when somebody is considering a spiritual path, you've written many, many, many, many books, and one in [00:03:00] particular, God, I believe I thought really is like a cornerstone for people who are curious about religion and spirituality, undecided, or looking for a new point of view or perspective.[00:03:14] And so I'd like you to tell us what was your motivation for writing God, I believe in a little bit about your own personal encounters with Jesus and conversion stuff. [00:03:26] Branch: Okay, thanks. Um, that's a great place to start obviously. Um, like most people, my early years and my upbringing were pretty normal, pretty average.[00:03:38] Um, I wasn't influenced or exposed to a lot of religion. Uh, my family was Christian, but that was about as far as it went, you know, we were seeing E Christians, uh, Christmas and Easter. And beyond that, you know, it was, um, well, it's out there, [00:04:00] but that's about all we know. So, you know, my first 20, 30 years were pretty normal in terms of growing up in American society and education and the job and the career and all of those kinds of things.[00:04:15] Um, about 35, I had some real south self doubts about who I was and what I was doing. And I was trying to figure your out if I'm not who I want to be, how do I become the person that I think I want to be? And that initially led me to a decision that I wanted to explore and try and find truth in my life and to come from the truth in my life.[00:04:46] So that was the trigger point. That was the jumping off, um, Point for me and that search for the truth, um, I found was easy and difficult at the same [00:05:00] time. Um, the truth is all around us. It's pretty self-evident. But if we are consumed by and buried by the layer of the world and society, the truth is often hidden from us, even though it's in plain view, you know, our concepts and our decisions, um, get colored by ourself desires and the things that we want out of this life and, and from the world.[00:05:32] So the, the conflict for me began almost immediately with, uh, what is the truth? How do I find the truth? How do I embrace the truth? Um, for the next 15 years, My struggle. And my path took me from the world into the spiritual path and from the truth, because I didn't get the answer. I started [00:06:00] exploring different religions and mysticism, um, Buddhism, you know, the Eastern religions, uh, as much information as I could find in this search for proof, if proof is out there, then there must be a medium where it exists.[00:06:19] And of course, this is what all religions are trying to portray and sell is that they have the truth. They have the way to the truth. So my exploration went from the truth as a concept to activities involving all of these different religions. And then finally, I had some experiences that sort of solidified for me where the truth lies, where it is to be found and what to do with it when you find so with that background, when I decided to write this book, I was [00:07:00] moved to write this book.[00:07:01] It was primarily designed for fallen away Christians, because I am a Christian and others who had, who might be on the same path that I was on of being a seeker and a searcher. You know, for truth. So that was the motivation for the book. And as a result that the contextual presentation of the book is basically a layman's study, a comparative study of the world's different religions or faith belief systems.[00:07:38] Um, and, and what I've done in the book or tried to do for the average reader is present them with the opportunity to know a little bit more the foundations or the basics of each of those religions and compare their answers to the same [00:08:00] set of questions so that the person who's looking for a spiritual path and doesn't know which one they might want to be going down.[00:08:10] They've got a base of comparison between all of those systems of belief. And then once they know a little more information about each one, they might be able to make a more informed decision as to which one is their choice. Um, so that's how the book came about and the foundation for, you know, my motivation to write that first book based on that struggle and that search.[00:08:43] And then what that search actually looks like. You know, practice for today's, um, purported religions and, and systems of belief [00:08:55] De'Vannon: now, uh, thank you for that explanation. Now, you said that you had, um, [00:09:00] a series of profound experiences that helped you to see what truth was while you were exploring. And, um, I want you to tell us what, you know, what, what some of those, uh, what, what, what was the profound moment that she said, okay, this is true.[00:09:22] What was the experience that happened to lock it in for you? Because you had been experimenting with all of the experiencing all the different religions. You could get your hands on. What made you settle on Christianity? What happened? [00:09:37] Branch: Um, okay. Uh, I have been on this venture for five years. Um, you know, trying to discover truth, what it means, what it looks like, what it truly was.[00:09:51] And many of your listeners may not believe this story, but since you asked, I'm going to tell it, um, one night I was getting [00:10:00] up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and the bathroom was right across. From my bedrooms. And there was a small hallway between, and I was sort of half asleep. You know, I, I stumbled out of the one room headed for the next room and in the middle while I was in the hallway, a voice in my living room called out to me and it startled me so much that it blasted me awake and I turned around and I said, okay, um, there was no answer.[00:10:36] And I was in the apartment alone. So there was nobody else in the apartment with me. And at that moment, um, I realized that the voice that had called out to me had to be one of two voices. It was either God, or it was the devil. And since I knew, if it was the devil, [00:11:00] he wouldn't have responded. When I said what, then I realized that it was the spirit of the Lord calling me and all during this previous five years, I had been struggling with trying to read the Bible and trying to understand scripture as you know, my exploration into Christianity, along with my other explorations of religion.[00:11:24] So at that point, that epiphany to me indicated that the Lord had. Something in mind for me. And he audibly called my name. And when I responded, his spirit came within me, his holy spirit came to live with my spirit. So that was the first epiphany that really took me off of, you know, the multiple paths and onto the Christian path.[00:11:57] Um, yeah, I, [00:11:58] De'Vannon: at that time, [00:12:00] oh, go [00:12:00] Branch: ahead. Yeah. At that time in my life, my secular being, I was a drug dealer and that's how I made my living. Um, so there was a real conflict between the way I was living my life and the desire of how I wanted to live my life. And that's where my conflict was. Um, my second epiphany was shortly thereafter.[00:12:31] I was arrested and, uh, arraigned and looking at 99 years in prison. Um, luckily or blessedly for me two weeks before I was set to go to trial. Um, my lawyer called and he said, uh, I was living in one state, had been arrested in a different state and my lawyer called and said, uh, you, you can come [00:13:00] back. Um, your case has been dropped and you can come back and get your vehicle and all the things that they took from you.[00:13:08] And so that profound experience, having spent some time in jail, you know, after the arrest and spent the next three months, um, sort of for, in foreboding mode of what I was about to face and what was about to happen to me, that was like a weight lifted off of me. Um, you know, like you can't imagine, but circumstances were such that the case was dropped and that was the end of my, um, drug life and my jail time life.[00:13:47] Um, know, so, and the third experience I'll tell you real quickly was the main change. And, and I had, um, decided to change my [00:14:00] name and quick experience. Gave me the name that I took, which is branchy Solei. But when I accepted that name change, it solidified me as a servant of God. One, when God gives you a commission or a task, or tells you to change your name and gives you a new name and you accept those things, then you are committed to service to him.[00:14:29] So those three experiences, um, over a 10 year period, after the five years of exploration period, uh, put me on the path and have, um, led me down this path where I attempt to share with others who are seeking and searching and wondering about, there's gotta be more in my life. Where is it? What is it? And how do I find it?[00:14:56] So that's my, you know, my [00:15:00] job today is to share with people, um, how to find the Lord in their life. [00:15:08] De'Vannon: Right? Okay. So I'm going to go back and touch on kind of like all three of those, because they were also fascinating. So, and I love these, this, this sort of transparency here, branch, because see the Lord comes in here.[00:15:25] Talks to people and deals with people in all sorts of ways. And maybe sometimes they may be thinking they're the only ones something super strange is happening. And so I like it when we can talk about this so that listeners can go, okay, well maybe I heard a voice too, or maybe I had, maybe God was speaking to me in this dream or in this trance or whatever.[00:15:45] So, um, and you know, for those who it is meant to believe they will, for those who it is not, they will not. And so, but the, you know, a personal here transparency like this, and if the Lord wants to, he will strike a chord in them. Whereas my grandmother would call [00:16:00] it, uh, a spiritual note or like when, um, people were singing and we're singing in church, you would call it a spiritual net when someone would get to get happy if they would say.[00:16:12] And, um, because what happened when I was young, I was, and I was sleeping in the bed with my grandmother when I was little, I heard an audible voice like that in slumber, in the middle of the night too, but it was not the Lord calling me. It was the devil, um, trying to, it was a, it wasn't an enticing.[00:16:38] Slithery like voice. And it was like, it was saying like, um, the van and the van, and I believe he said it twice. And it was a such that I touched my grandmother and I was like, you know, you know that you call me, you tell me what was that voice that I heard. And so both the devil and God have the [00:17:00] power to speak verbally.[00:17:01] People don't talk about that a lot. So I don't think your story is strange at all. Um, and then your, your second experience with drug dealing. I was a drug dealer too, for some time in Houston, Texas. And then, you know, I got arrested as well. Um, yeah. Going to jail and, and facing long sentences and stuff like that can be a life-changing could put you on a path.[00:17:24] And then when you get delivered from it, you get this strong sense of, okay, you know, I have this second chance and now what am I going to do with it? And it's not meant to, for, for people like us and for people who have been delivered from, you know, from, from strong things like that, that try to captivate your whole life, uh, to dissent quietly.[00:17:51] You know, it is for us to open our mouths and talking about what happened so that others may be delivered, whoever it is. That they'd gone as [00:18:00] intended. And then the name changes that you speak of, um, reminds me from the old Testament of Jacob, you know, you had a Jacob experience there and, um, and what happened, you know, Jacob wrestled with an angel all night and then the Lord turned, gave him his name from, uh, changed his name from Jacob to Israel.[00:18:24] Or you could say you had a, uh, a road to Damascus experience where we're Saul's name went from Saul to Paul. So sometimes certain things happen to us in life and we come out of it. Some people shave all their hair off, I'm already bald. So I can, I can identify with that. Some people do all kinds of things to signify, and a lot of times is after trauma has happened, but a whole name change totally counts too.[00:18:50] Um, I think that some children, when they're adopted should be given completely different names because they're coming from such disadvantaged [00:19:00] backgrounds and everything. And that way it really drives the point home with that child, that whatever, whatever it was that was going on with you before we're coming to help you and save you that's over you now have a new name, a new life, a new path, a new purpose, a new destiny, a new everything, or is it says in the book of revelation, he who sets up on the throne, said behold, I make all things new.[00:19:24] And sometimes, sometimes why, who we need a whole. The whole redo. And so, so I think it's wonderful. I bet you, somebody out there is going to find the Lord and change their name just because you did. And I love it. [00:19:40] Branch: Well, you know, a couple of those things you said are just so important because the Lord has a plan for everybody and that plan involves them coming back to him.[00:19:55] And I think that there's one of [00:20:00] the greatest things about all these podcast options and availabilities today is we're able to reach out and touch or expose a lot of people who have not been exposed to their options in their life. And I believe there's a, you know, a big revival coming in the future.[00:20:19] And so. All of these people around the world who are involved in ministry. And that's what you're doing and I'm doing is, is a little ministry, but we're trying to share the gospel, share the word, share the importance of a spiritual relationship. And this is the way the word is. The Lord is work through to lots of people in order to reach lots of other people.[00:20:46] And so what you've said is exactly right. You know, he speaks to us, he comes to us in different ways. He'll use whatever method or medium he can to awaken us to who [00:21:00] he is and what he's got planned for us. And, you know, people shouldn't be surprised if they see in the world of the Lord working in their world or in their life, he's doing it through lots of different people, um, in lots of different mediums.[00:21:17] So as a listener, don't be surprised if the Lord is reaching out to you because he is and, um, be cognizant of it and welcome it. It'll change your life. [00:21:31] De'Vannon: Amen and amen on a, on a Tuesday morning. And, uh, and, and it, everybody, I had said that we were going to touch on a little bit of, um, in times, uh, things which has to do with the end of the world.[00:21:49] And stuff like that, but actually I think we're probably going to do like a whole other different episode that talks about eschatology and things of [00:22:00] that in, um, but this, but I just don't, I'm going to do that because a lot of people are thinking that, you know, do this might come back any second of today and things like that.[00:22:14] And I think a lot of people don't understand the political implications that are in the book of revelation and things like that. And so it bears the whole episode. So just for now, you don't have to worry about whether or not the world is going to crumble, you know, like any second, a lot more has to happen and we're going to do it in, in some end up, at least one ended up episode on that.[00:22:37] So you can stop worrying about it because God, when I was growing up, you know, all the old people were like, you know, the, in this coming, it's going to be any day now, you know, at any moment, you know, so, you know, the kid, you know, looking out the window, you know, because Jesus up there anxiety that, you know, I just really didn't need.[00:22:57] So it was there anything branch you would like to say [00:23:00] to kind of broach the topic of the end times and then after that we'll dive right into the book. [00:23:05] Branch: Okay. The end times. That that's without a doubt. And we see the precursors of what's described as end-time events happening in our lives today. And, and you're right.[00:23:20] Um, we need more time to get into it. You're also correct. People don't have to worry that, you know, the sun's not coming up tomorrow and it's over, there has to be some things that are going to take place, um, before those times happen. But you know, it's interesting. And I'll just say this real quickly, when you start to look at end time prophecy and what the word of God tells us about the end times, and then you recognize some of the things that are happening.[00:23:52] What it's trying to do is give us a warning and make us aware that these things will [00:24:00] take place. And now is the time to get right with the Lord. If the Lord's not in your life, there's no better time to start than today. Because when you start down this path, these events that are unfolding right before our eyes will become self-evident as to their relationship to the end times and the last day events.[00:24:26] And as they open up and make themselves known, we can be prepared for them. Um, and we can also be prepared for whatever the consequences may be, because we will have that relationship with the Lord, but don't worry. It's not happening anytime soon, but it is likely going to happen. You know, there's going to be a lot of people alive today who see it take place.[00:24:55] De'Vannon: Okay. Um, oh, can you explain to us [00:25:00] the difference in between spirituality and religion please? [00:25:05] Branch: Wow. Um, in a nutshell, uh, religion is ma a man-made system to interpret the word of God. And spirituality is the word of God inaction. Um, know one comes from God and one manipulates. What comes from God. [00:25:35] De'Vannon: Uh, when you say that, I think about, uh, what my next book is going to be kind of centered around, which is the fuckery that has become the Christianity in America, in the, in like the 50 million different versions of it that you have and stuff like that.[00:25:54] And so, um, that's another thing that people can stay tuned for, but for right [00:26:00] now, what, what branch is saying is that. Spirituality is like your one-on-one time. Like you, you and the Lord and religion is this sounds like it's getting into rituals and practices and things like that that may not necessarily have anything to do with your walk of faith.[00:26:16] More like maybe platitudes or superficial things. And so [00:26:22] Branch: well, for, for, for the, for the individual, who's wondering, you know, and, and asks themselves. The simple question to ask is, is this religion asking me to use it, to get to God? Or is it allowing me to come and get to God on my own? You see, that's all religions.[00:26:49] If you look at them, their intent is to bring people to God, however, their re their rights and worship [00:27:00] services and those kinds of things that they go through require that you go through the priest or the pastor or the mom to get to God. So if, you know, if, if you get fed in a religious situation, That's what's important that you have, you know, you get that word that you need to help make you a better person in your life.[00:27:26] However, if the religion requires that you come through the priest or the pastor or the mom in order to get to God, unless that's where you want to be, you probably are more interested in the spiritual path than the religious path. The spiritual path, as said, is open to you to go to God at any moment in time every day.[00:27:50] I mean, it's, it's, it's what a personal relationship, personal spiritual relationship between the individual and God is, [00:28:00] um, you don't need to go through some mediator to get to God other than for the Christian. Of course we go through Christ. [00:28:10] De'Vannon: You're right. Absolutely. No human is needed because we already have Jesus.[00:28:15] Branch: Exactly. [00:28:17] De'Vannon: Exactly. Okay, cool. So now your book is broken down into three parts, attitude, belief, perception. I love me something that's very organized and I can't remember. Yeah. I spent six years in the air force and I don't remember only what I was MIT. And I don't remember when I was super, I was pretty organized before then, but certainly after that and, um, that I've never lost that.[00:28:40] So I love it. You know, attitude, belief, perception, and there's different chapters under each section. And so then if a person feels drawn to one section, we feel like they need help with this or that. You know, it was very clearly defined where you can go and seek that, which you need. [00:29:00] So we're going to give an explanation of what each section is about starting with attitude, and you defined it as a mental position or feeling with regard to a fact, or a state, a manner of showings one's feelings or thoughts or one's disposition or opinion.[00:29:19] So tell us though, at further about the attitude section of the book, [00:29:27] Branch: but like you said, and I'm glad you pointed out, you can start, you don't have to start at page one with this book. You, you can know pick where you want to begin. Um, whatever your interests may be peaked from the table of contents, attitude.[00:29:42] You know, we have an attitude towards virtually everything in our life from birth on, and it's interesting that a lot of self-help, um, books and gurus, um, Base [00:30:00] everything that they're selling or sharing or teaching on a change of attitude. And that's how powerful, uh, you know, one's attitude can be, is you can go into a situation and, and your, your mention of the military is such a great example because in the military, you're in a very regimented environment and things are pretty well-defined.[00:30:28] And if you've ever been in the service, which Nevada, Anna and I both have, um, there comes times when, you know, you're required or requested to do things that you might have a problem with or an issue. But you know, you go ahead and you do them. What you find is a simple change in attitude can make any task, no matter how regimented the situation be, can make [00:31:00] any tasks, less threatening and less of a challenge to do.[00:31:05] So attitude is so important in our daily lives. Um, changing your attitude can make all the difference in just a moment's notice of change of attitude, you know, your whole. Perspective on what you're being asked or required to do. It can be totally different. That's the power of one's attitude. Um, so this is particularly important when we're talking about something as life-changing as spirituality or a religious commitment can be, um, that in and of itself takes a totality of one's investment of self to go from a non-religious or non-spiritual position in your [00:32:00] life.[00:32:00] And to then invite that new application and concept of spirituality or religion in your life. That essence of attitude is absolutely necessary from you to go from a secular only, or non-spiritual non-religious life into a new commitment as a spiritual or religious neophyte. So attitude becomes important, um, particularly in this realm of spirituality and religion, because it's going to change your life, whether you want it to or not.[00:32:44] Once you make that commitment and step on that path of spirituality. Or religion, your life will change and your attitude needs to be one that can accept that change and then [00:33:00] make the most out of that change. Uh, you can't do it without a change in attitude. And that's how important attitude is. Um, you know, even beyond our daily activities and daily life kinds of situations, when we're talking about making life changing changes than attitude is certainly one of the cornerstones of making that new exposure successful.[00:33:31] De'Vannon: Okay, well put sir, and then the next section is belief. Um, trust or confidence is how this is, uh, defined in the book or, or the conviction that certain things are true. Break that down further for us please. [00:33:49] Branch: Well, you know, we all believe certain things and from our earliest memories and indoctrinations as [00:34:00] children and the environments and families that we grow up in, we learn and accept certain belief, structures, and patterns.[00:34:12] Um, you'll see this evident in behaviors today. That are outside of what we once considered, you know, the norm and the way people respond to other people today, um, in very negative ways and very negative actions, all of our actions and all of our responses are grounded in our belief system, whatever that might be, uh, here, again, for people who are not on a spiritual or religious path, it's sort of one of those, um, attitude is all, it's all about me or what's in it for [00:35:00] me.[00:35:00] And therefore the grounding of my belief system is I can do whatever I want and I will do whatever I want, no matter who it harms or what turmoil it may cause. So that's the strength of belief and belief is, uh, essentially grounded in who we are, who we become, um, is the tap root. That's tied to who we believe we are by who we were, you know, who we grew up as being.[00:35:38] So that's the importance of belief. Now belief in myself and belief in my world can change. But for a lot of people, that's, that's a difficult jump to make. And again, we see that evidenced in our world today just by the, um, [00:36:00] and the crazy things that are taking place and the way people choose to behave towards, you know, other people, um, all of that's grounded in, in our belief system of who we are and what we believe to be true or trust to be true.[00:36:21] De'Vannon: Okay. Well put, well, I believe all of that, which you just said, then the third section perception, and that you say that this is an awareness of one, the environment through physical sensation or the mental grasp of objects through the senses insight or intuition knowledge and just it by pristine thing.[00:36:47] Tell us, tell us what we should be perceiving here. [00:36:52] Branch: Well, the question is what are you perceiving? You know, and I'll give you a great, well, I'll give you the prime example for where we are [00:37:00] on July the 27th, 2021 as the, uh, insurrection congressional hearing starts. You have an action that took place that was seen across the planet, uh, in real time.[00:37:18] And yet today we have a variety of different perceptions of what actually happened. So our perception of ourselves or the people in our lives, or the events in our lives are colored by the previous two things. We talked about our belief system and our attitudes towards that belief system perception can be, it's like a magician.[00:37:52] You know, you perceive one thing that's happening and the reality is it's not happening. And [00:38:00] this is the strength of perception. All three of these attitude, belief and perception is sort of like a three-legged stool that holds the seat of one's reality. And our attitude can be changed. Our beliefs can be changed and our perceptions can be changed, but we have to be the ones to change those.[00:38:25] Um, otherwise, you know, the difficulty to break those bonds. Are so great. And the struggle is so great because you have to look at yourself and that gets into a whole nother realm. Am I willing to look at myself? And if I do, am I willing to accept what I see? Only when I get to that point, can I spread the path where I might be willing to [00:39:00] change my attitudes, beliefs, and perceptions.[00:39:03] So, you know, we can perceive things, but our perception is colored by our beliefs and our attitudes. It's all [00:39:12] De'Vannon: connected. So, um, all connected. Tell us branch, you, you write in your book that one of the greatest challenges that we face when we're starting a new relationship with the Lord is grappling with our feelings of unworthiness.[00:39:31] I feel like since you stated such a bold statement, it was worth bringing up in the interview to talk to us about this unworthiness of where it comes from and why it's such a hindrance[00:39:46] Branch: as people, we all crave, two things love and approval. And again, these things start in childhood [00:40:00] and. Transmuted and transmitted as we grow and they morph and change. According to our attitudes, beliefs, perceptions, our environment, um, you know, our family situation, all of those factors that are part of life as we grow, um, all make who we are and who we are and who we wish to become, um, are all interconnected.[00:40:40] So[00:40:44] ask asked me, I lost my train of thought here. I was going down the wrong path. [00:40:50] De'Vannon: No problem. We were talking about the feelings of unwell. [00:40:53] Branch: Oh yeah. Unworthiness. Well, this, this, this craving for love and approval right. Starts with our parents and [00:41:00] works out as our, the ripple of our life expands. And what we find as we go through the lessons in life is we have lots of opportunities to doubt ourselves and to question ourselves and to beat ourselves up about some of the choices that we make, all of these sort of negative.[00:41:28] Vibes and negative consequential experiences feed into this idea of, well, I'm not worthy of love or approval. And if I'm not worthy of love or approval than my life basically is worthless or has no worth to anyone else. And if it has no worth to anyone else that it has no worth to me, this is one of the importance of developing a spiritual [00:42:00] relationship is that spirituality gives you a connection with something greater than yourself, outside of yourself that can show to you and prove to you that you are worthy.[00:42:18] No matter your situation, no matter, you know, the decisions and choices that you you start to make, or that you continue to make spiritual growth is all based on you understanding that you are worthy, that someone does love you. That being the Lord and that his love is unconditional. Um, unconditional love is, is the greatest thing in the universe.[00:42:49] And it's the most difficult thing, or one of the most difficult things for us to understand. We can't understand unconditional love because we live in a world [00:43:00] that, you know, denies that, that exists. This is why, again, a spiritual path and a spiritual relationship is so important. It shows you that God's unconditional love for you no matter who you are, no matter where you are in your life.[00:43:18] No matter of the mistakes that you've made, you have a worthiness to him simply because you are, he, as the creator created you, your spiritual energy comes from him. It is therefore part of his spiritual energy. It's part of his spiritual existence. And for that reason alone, you are worthy to be loved.[00:43:48] And regardless of how much approval you crave for yourself, that approval is unnecessary. This is why, you know, unworthiness in itself [00:44:00] can be such a downer. I mean, it can just drag us and keep us into the depths of our own despair. Finding out and realizing that we are worthy because we're worthy of God's love.[00:44:14] That's all we need to establish our worthiness. Now it's our position and our responsibility to allow our worth, to grow and to show it to the world. Um, the interesting thing about life, as you know, we're all in the same situation, we're all struggling. We all have problems. We all have relationship issues.[00:44:41] We have to, you know, divorce ourselves or allow something greater than all of those struggles to be part of our life. When you allow a spiritual relationship to be ignited in your life, your sense of worth, all [00:45:00] of a sudden becomes real. And you realize I can face these struggles because I am worthy. I don't have to keep beating myself up about decisions or choices that I made that make me believe that I'm unworthy.[00:45:17] So you know, this unworthy and worthy concept, it's like a two-edged sword, whichever sword side we've got up and choose to use is the one that will continue to build its strength within[00:45:35] De'Vannon: the important. The spirituality reminds me of the, um, of the fact that it's important for people to make a spiritual choice on what they're going to believe or into, and to really work on themselves spiritually. Because if not, then, you know, we're out of balance. And I don't think, I think most people agree that we all have some [00:46:00] sort of spirit, soul, something unseen living on the inside of us at the center of our being, no matter what path of faith that a person believes in.[00:46:12] Um, and so when we don't actively get after spiritual enlightenment and understanding, then invasively leaving a part of ourselves on nourish, unfulfilled and unsatisfied, and then that throws us out of balance. And then what happens then is we go out in the world and we have problems and things like that.[00:46:31] And when we can't figure out why we keep running into those problems, or where is the problem coming from? Well, you know, it's like, you know, starving yourself. If you don't eat, you're gonna fall out and leaving your poor little spirit there with no direction and no food, no nourishment or nothing like that.[00:46:51] It going to throw you completely out of balance. It's like trying to drive a car on three tires. It's not going to work. And so, and what I love about [00:47:00] this book is it's not necessarily saying one. Religion is better than another. Talk about this, that later on in the interview, but it breaks down the different options that are out there.[00:47:12] You got to find something though and do something with that spirit. It's all sitting inside of you in a, rather than because a lot of people just take a casual approach to spirituality. Like they'll find it eventually, or they, maybe they think they'll find it in their travels across the globe, but it's not like you really have to go to the other side of the world anymore to even experiment experience different things.[00:47:35] You can go online, you know, do zoom calls and things like that. And talk to, you know, different people who are, who are, who are from different religions and stuff like that. You can go to church online these days, if you want to, and you can look anything up online. So what I'm saying is the knowledge is at your fingertips, that this book gives you a good overview of it.[00:47:56] But if we really wanted to do something with our spirits and our souls, just like [00:48:00] when we want to go out and do anything else, make money, have sex, you know, follow our advices. And I'm not saying there's anything wrong with those things, but I am saying that we go after what we really fucking want to go after and dealing with our spirits, shouldn't be something that's left to chance or, you know, I appreciate the Wednesday whenever the day may come, you know, [00:48:23] Branch: well, life is about choices and consequences and, uh, you know, spiritual cognition is one of those choices.[00:48:34] One of the interesting things about God is whether you're a spiritual person or not, or religious person or not. And it doesn't matter what religion we're talking about. One of the most interesting things is God demands, nothing of us, except one thing before we die, he will demand whether or not we will [00:49:00] believe that Jesus Christ was his son and came here for a reason, that reason being salvation.[00:49:10] Um, no, I don't want to go down the rabbit hole with different religions and, and Jesus or no Jesus or any of those things. People choose the religion for the reasons they need that religion, whatever that religion may be. But for the Christian, we are obligated to decide whether or not, or for the professed Christian, you know, somebody who says, well, I'm, I'm a Christian, regardless of whatever that may look like in action or thought word, indeed, if you claim to be a Christian, that at some point you will have to decide whether or not you truly believe what Christianity is.[00:49:57] And Christianity is Christ like [00:50:00] behavior. So are you going to emulate Christ, believe who he was, who he steady was and who the scriptures say he was or not? And this is the struggle for Christians today. Many Christians I'm a Christian, but my actions and my thoughts, words and deeds are not Christ-like.[00:50:26] So how much of a Christian am I? [00:50:29] De'Vannon: And in terms of the actions, uh, Jesus summed it up like this. He said all the laws in the books and the profits getting, hang on to whether or not you love your neighbor as yourself. And if you love the Lord, your God with all your heart and with all your mind, with all your soul and all your spirit.[00:50:46] So that means you don't be an asshole. It means you don't be a Karen, essentially speaking.[00:51:00] [00:51:03] Branch: No. And people asked me, you know, can you, can you explain to me the old Testament and the new Testament, and there's greater minds than mine that have grappled with that question. But when the seeker and searcher asks me the easiest way to describe to them, Is to send them to Exodus 20 and to Matthew 2237, the entire, the entire Bible is about one person and that's Jesus Christ, both the old Testament and the new Testament both have the same focus and intent, and that's on the life and teachings of Christ as the Messiah.[00:51:55] But the old Testament is summed up in the 10 [00:52:00] commandments found in Exodus 20. And the new Testament is found in Matthew 2237, which you just quoted love God first and most treat your neighbor as yourself on these two, hang all the laws and the prophets, meaning every law that God had given, whether it's the 10 commandments or the 632 that he gave to Judaism and all the words of all the prophets old and new Testament, all boil down to those two things, love God most first and most and treat your neighbor as yourself.[00:52:40] You see, that's one of the problems we have today in the world, but particularly in the Christian world, we call ourselves Christian. But we don't go out with an attitude, a belief and a perception that my desire is to treat others the way [00:53:00] I want to be treated. And for me, that's the biggest failing of Christianity, regardless of the denomination.[00:53:08] Someone may be in the totality of Christianity is summed up in that statement by Christ. And yet we've got lots of Christians who refuse to no trust and abide in the behavior. There's that would emulate that statement. [00:53:31] De'Vannon: Correct. And, um, I want to add too. So like, so like y'all, wouldn't branches saying the old Testament is some of the, in the, uh, the 10 commandments, um, and those 10 commandments reflect the heart of Jesus.[00:53:45] I agree with that now for, for people who are aware and a lot of people are of all the other rules in the old Testament. Like you can't eat, you know, this beast, if their foot is clove in, or if they chew the cud, you know? Okay. [00:54:00] So that has a lot to do with the culture of the Israelites and different things that were going on with them at that time.[00:54:07] And, um, and so I'm just going to say this to set people free from a lot of confusion that prevails in the book of acts, which is in the new Testament, there was this whole kerfluffle. Between the Jews and the people who are of the bloodline of Abraham and everybody who wasn't the Gentiles. So even though Jesus came and did his ministry, it's not like those of us who were not of the bloodline of Abraham were just as welcomed in, on a nice rosy carpet, you know, do people had to really, really fight for acceptance and things like that.[00:54:41] And so it got to a point where were, where were the apostles of the day? And everything had a meeting and said, okay, the Gentiles are here to stay. So what is it that they have to do? What don't they have to do? And when they came out of that meeting, they released everybody who was not of the bloodline of Abraham from all [00:55:00] Israelite, customs and traditions, with the exception of like eating strangled meat and things sacrificed to idols or something like that, they all had to do with life consumption of some sort of thing.[00:55:11] But in terms of anything traditional like that from the old Testament that doesn't have anything to do with, with, with those of us who are not of the bloodline of Abraham. And then even from my understanding, if they don't want to, they don't have to, because that was a whole, you know, it was the one thing Jesus accomplished.[00:55:28] You gave everybody a new path, but if people insisted upon holding to the old traditions, they could, but nobody really had to any more, but especially those of us who were in grafted in through Jesus Christ in, you know, And I, and, um, I'm going to put my foot in the rabbit hole a little bit and say that I believe that that released all of us from like the commandments, the thigh, and a couple of other things, because those things started, you know, back in the old Testament for the nation of [00:56:00] Israel and we are not of the nation of Israel.[00:56:02] And so, and so don't worry about you eat whatever you want to baby. The Lord was still loving you.[00:56:12] And, um, [00:56:13] Branch: you know, the God gave the Israelites, you know, some fundamental laws and decrees, and so much of the time the Israelites, you know, rather than trusting in the Lord, they wanted to be like other people, you know, they wanted a king, so they got solved. They wanted laws. So they get, they got lost, they got 639 laws in Leviticus and Deuteronomy and, and ways that they would be required to live Christ did away with all of those things for believers and followers in Christ, the Jews, the Hasidic Jews, particularly the Orthodox Jews, you know, still live with those kinds of [00:57:00] traditional mores and that's their lifestyle and their life choice.[00:57:05] Uh, the Zionist Jews. You know, are like the, um, purpose driven Christians, they kind of pick and choose what it is they want to, um, honor and obey Christ's coming. And the new Testament writings like the man, Adam says releases us from those old traditions. Um, his, his sacrifice for us pays for all of our sins as believers.[00:57:40] Um, so it, you know, if you don't want to eat bacon, don't eat bacon, but if you want to enjoy bacon, um, you know, it's not a sin to eat bacon, uh, at, at this point, you know, in you're right about the, uh, doing a way with this [00:58:00] division. It's interesting that there were so much conflict between the traditional keeping Jews who be, who were becoming Christians and the rest of the Christians who were, you know, trying to understand what this new religion was all about.[00:58:18] Um, the circumcision, right? What was kind of the, the focal point that brought it all to a head, but Jesus, his presence for his followers, it doesn't negate the past, but it puts away the sin. Of disobedience of the past. It's a new life. You're a new creation in Christ. And so as a new creation in Christ, as a believer in Christ, then our duty and our obligation, um, by accepting him as our Lord is to, you know, emulate him in thought word, [00:59:00] indeed.[00:59:00] And it's not about being circumcised or not, or not about eating bacon or not. It's about loving God first and most and treating your neighbor as yourself, whether or not the bacon are circumcised. [00:59:12] De'Vannon: Well, I love me, um, bacon and my bloody Mary's kidney. That's about the only thing I really have vacant is when it's, when I'm throwing me back.[00:59:21] One of those and, um, [00:59:26] Branch: well, that's interesting, you know, what's, what's, what's advice. Vice is like, what's a vice [00:59:34] De'Vannon: vice vinyl. Oh, I thought you were asking. Yeah. W [00:59:38] Branch: w no, what do we consider a vice, right? For me of ice may be eating bacon, um, for someone else it's not. So who determines, you know, what's a vice, what's a sin who determines what's a sin and what's not a sin.[00:59:55] Um, you know, [01:00:00] it's, that's what forgiveness is all about. And that's what. Repentance is all about, um, I can choose to not eat bacon, um, that doesn't make it a sin or a vice I can choose to repay. It's just, you know, there's a difference between spiritual grounding and understanding of sin and sin nature.[01:00:23] And then there's a difference between vice and San Anna legalistics situation or legalistic terms. And you see, that's what you find in most traditional applied religions, Judaism, Islam, um, some of the Eastern religions, you know, it's a vice, because we say it's a vice or it's a sin because we say it's a sin.[01:00:48] Or, you know, our holy book says it's a sin, but for the follower of Christ, whether it's a sin or [01:01:00] not in legal terms or traditional religious terms, the love of Christ and the forgiveness of Christ covers those sins. So this, this question of is that a sin or not a sin, is this behavior a vice and not a vice?[01:01:15] Is this behavior. Sin becomes irrelevant except to the self-righteous and hypocritical one who wants to hold that as the standard for reward or punishment. And this is the importance of spirituality. That spiritual connection, you know, covers you from this past behavior that others might have said was a sin.[01:01:48] They can still call it a sin and still be, you know, lambasting you as sinful. But the hypocrisy is in their own statement, [01:02:00] a sin as a sin, um, in God's eyes, you know, murder is no more or no less a sin than covetousness. So that's where we, you know, religion encourages us to get caught up in this hypocrisy of I'm right.[01:02:19] And you're wrong, or this behavior is okay, and this behavior is not okay. And whose to make that judgment and that determination while the hypocrites love to be the judge and the jury. Right. Um, whether it's the ISIS faction of Islam or the evangelical extremists in Christianity, they love to throw stones, um, you know, at others who are sinning, but their sin is okay.[01:02:54] You know, I, I, there's an old joke. Um, and I'll, I'll tell you just because you're from [01:03:00] the south and I live in the south and it's, um, why do Baptist never make love standing up? They're afraid somebody is going to see them and think they're dancing. I see. So, you know, who's going to determine sin activity and righteous activity.[01:03:23] Well, ultimately God is going to determine that he's the judge, um, and his justice is right. So, you know, if somebody says your activity is sinful and you shouldn't be doing that, first of all, let them look at their own sin, you know, get that speck of dust in that plank in correct proportions. And then you, you worry about, you know, how you're going to a tone when you stand in front of God, it's between you and him.[01:03:54] And here's the whole point of Christianity. If you're a believer and a follower in Christ, [01:04:00] he's already covered that sin for you. You will not have to stand in front of God. You will be judged. But Christ's sacrifice for you as a Christ, believing Christian, and one who emulates Christ will be covered. So don't worry about, you know, who calls you a sinner?[01:04:22] Um, let them worry about themselves. You do, you know, love God first and most and treat others the way you want to be treated. And you're on the path to becoming less sinful in the eyes of God. Um, right. [01:04:37] De'Vannon: And, um, I like to say, I agree with you said, and the simplest way I've learned to look at it, is that okay?[01:04:49] So in the Bible it says that like the Lord changes us and deals with us, like a line upon line precept upon precept here, a little there, a little bind by, [01:05:00] so we don't have power to change like our behavior necessarily ourselves and, uh, [01:05:11] Branch: or we would, [01:05:12] De'Vannon: or we would, but you know, the Lord, you know, already told us that, you know, we, by taking thought cannot add one cubic of height to ourselves.[01:05:19] And so he was, he was telling us, you know, it was him that's going to change is what he's not going to do it until he's ready to do it. And so in its simplest form, as long as you are true in your pursuit of the Lord, He, you just left that, you know, as long as you're really getting after him and sincerity, that anything that's that he doesn't want you to be doing, eventually you're going to naturally fall out of agreement with it anyway.[01:05:43] Amen. [01:05:44] Branch: Amen. [01:05:44] De'Vannon: That's it. And then you [01:05:45] Branch: don't need it. Yeah. Become a new creation in Christ. When you give your heart and soul to Christ and choose to start following him, you will change your behavior, your [01:06:00] thoughts, your desires change, because the holy spirit now lives within you and with him in you. This is the great thing about Christianity for the believer.[01:06:10] Every time you have to make a choice, whatever it may be something, you know, monumental in your life or something simple in your life. Every time you've got to choose, you have a choice to make, you can say, am I going to do this my way or the world's way? Or am I going to do it Christ way? Am I going to do what God would have me do?[01:06:32] And when Christ spirit lives within you, his holy spirit is the same holy spirit of God. The father, when that spirit is alive within your spirit, and you ask in this situation, what am I going to do? Your next question is what would Jesus do? In this same situation, I find myself, what would he respond? How would he respond?[01:06:59] What would he [01:07:00] do? And when you ask that question, his spirit living within you will answer and we'll show you the consequences of not being obedient of not choosing God's way. Look, God, nobody in your life has your best interest at heart, more than God himself. That's why he sends his spirit to be with us, to help us, um, get through the day.[01:07:29] And so when you have a choice to make, and you say, what am I going to do? Um, what do I want to do with the carnal world branch thing would want to do, do I want to do what's in it for me? Or am I going to do what Jesus would have done? I have a choice to make, but if I choose to do it my way, then I will, you know, reap the benefit or suffer the consequences of whatever that choice has at the end of the [01:08:00] road.[01:08:00] If I choose to do it God's way or ask, what would Jesus do? His spirit living within me is going to show me right then the consequences of doing it my way of doing it, the world's way. He's going to show me the downside to that decision. This is the amazing thing of God's love. He will show you your future before it even takes place.[01:08:28] Before you put into action, the choice of the decision you've made, he will show you the downside, the negative outcome of choosing the world's way. When the closer we get to God, that becomes more and more self-evident. So our behavior on our actions automatically begins to change. We change ourself with the strength of God's spirit living within us.[01:08:58] That's what spirituality [01:09:00] is all about. That's what a relationship with Jesus Christ or a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, because we now possess his same spirit. He will show us the way and that keeps us out of trouble. It keeps us away from the holes of adversity. It allows us to not go down that path.[01:09:24] The greatest thing about the love of God is the further you go down the path, responding the way he wants you to respond, because he has your best interest at heart. The more you respond that way, the more he begins to bless your life. And those blessings could be run the gamut. It could be material blessings, it could be, you know, possession, blessings.[01:09:50] It could be psychological blessings relationship wise. It doesn't matter. The love of God and obedience to his [01:10:00] spiritual leadership fills your heart. That's the true blessing. Your heart is filled. Like nothing else can fill it. There's nothing of the world that can fill your heart. Like the spirit of God, if it did, you wouldn't want that new car or that new house, or, you know, another appliance that desire for material goods is the core.[01:10:25] Of the world and that's where its tests and temptations know live in our house. This is why you never can grasp happiness through the ways of the world because the world, no matter what, you have always encourage you to want more and to desire more when you have the love of God in your heart, because the spirit of God lives within you, your heart and your soul are full.[01:10:51] There's nothing that the world can offer you that can fill you more than that spirit. And when you have his spirit within [01:11:00] you and you are fulfilled, you see the truth in the world, you see the folly in the world and you realize that the fall is nothing more, you know, than illusion. The love of God will, will reward you more than you could possibly imagine.[01:11:22] And this is why going down the spiritual path led by the light of Christ brings you closer to God. And the closer you get to God, the more like Christ you are. So your natural action and your natural inclination is against the sin of the world. [01:11:41] De'Vannon: And, um, and so. And so branch is not saying there's anything wrong with cars and houses and stuff like that.[01:11:48] What he's talking about here with balance and perspective. And, um, and as it says in the Bible to learn how to be content with whatever state that we're in and to be happy there with, um, he's [01:12:00] also talking about how, um, in the book of Hosea, how it talks about like the more God blessed people, it's like the less, they want it to be close to him.[01:12:08] He's talking about not making idols out of the blessings that we have and remembering who it came from and being sort of at our passion is greatest for God of all things, no matter what, there's also another part that says that the eye's not satisfied with seeing nor the ear with hearing. And so we, so we just gotta mind ourselves and be careful how we let ourselves get carried away with things in there's life.[01:12:31] But that's a, that's a part of, you know, this life. And when, uh, when branch is talking about the Lord will tell us and deal with us, you know, always use the fit in church. In wonder when people would say the Lord spoke to them, or he showed them something. I'm like, okay, how, you know, how does this, how does that go?[01:12:48] So it could be, for me, it's in brings a lot. I've always been a gift that dreamer, and as I was a child, you know, things, that's the, my dreams come true, you know, and stuff like that. It could be audible voice. It's like [01:13:00] what we talked about earlier, it could be through a friend, a loved one, a family member, a relative, or a total stranger.[01:13:07] It could be an inclination, a no. You know that it really comes deep within you, but you'll know that it's him without a shadow of a doubt. God speaks to us in many, many different ways. So when we say, God will tell you, he will talk to you. One thing I would suggest to add to your prayer life as you're seeking this sort of God to speak to you, you know, and, and to really, I wish he's going to do this anyway, but it never hurts to, I think, state the obvious, especially when you're, or at least when you're new with God, and you ask him to talk to you in a language or in a way that that's gonna mean something to you.[01:13:41] And so that you'll know that it's him and, um, [01:13:46] Branch: excellent, excellent, excellent point. You know, it, if you're open to the Lord, he'll answer, um, as nothing he wants more than for you to turn towards him so he can embrace you with all he [01:14:00] is. Um, it just, uh, and I don't want you to think new cars. Aren't nice. Uh, God wants us to be good stewards of the things that we have and the things that we get.[01:14:14] If you look, if you know the stories in the old Testament, you know, virtually every wealthy person in the old Testament, um, gained their wealth through their obedience to God. And he made them even more well. When they stayed that course and stayed obedient. So what he did for them, he'll do for you and me.[01:14:36] Um, you know, I have, I was 40 years on the world's path and have nothing but regrets for the damage I did and the people I hurt. Um, my 40 years on the spiritual path has been nothing but blessings. And, you know, I was homeless once. Like a lot of people, I started out at the bottom, like a lot of people, [01:15:00] but you know, every blessing that I have has come from him and I recognize that and what he has done for me and for others he'll do for you.[01:15:10] We're not special. Um, we're just here walking the path, just like you are trying to figure out, you know, what's in our life for us and how do we be the best person we can be? [01:15:24] De'Vannon: You know, I was homeless at one point in here. It's nothing like starting from the bottom and being rebuild. Um, I want to, we're going to get into the whole, like self-confidence self-sufficiency movement and X, but just for a second, I wanted to talk about like your thoughts on tithing, because I know that's, that's a really big deal and people who are going to be new in the faith, especially if they come across any kind of Christian Church is going to be hit with offerings, top ties and offerings as they call it.[01:15:57] And, um, From my [01:16:00] experience, it was always presented in a threatening way. Like if you don't give this, then something bad will happen to you. If you do then great things are going to happen to you. And, um, and they use old tests, they use an old Testament scripture in Malakai, where it says that you'll be cursed with a curse.[01:16:18] You know, that that was going on with the years of her lives back then. And like I said before, when they had the meeting in the book of acts, they released us from everything that has to do with that culture, with the exception of eating strangled, with meat and, and crazy shit like that, that, you know, we wouldn't, you know, who, who would want to do that anyway, but probably somebody we have to say that.[01:16:37] But, um, so I don't feel like tithing is necessary. I feel like it's just like all of the other tradition from the old Testament. Like if you want to use it as a guide, if you want to do it phenomenal, if you don't want to do it, you're not about to get struck by lightning and maggots. And I'm about to eat of all your food, you know, which is something that happened when, when they left Egypt and the whole other thing, [01:17:00] but, you know, bad things are not going to happen to you.[01:17:02] You're not going to get flat tires and you're going to get fired from your job. But because anybody new and brave is gone and somebody is going to try to get money out of them and they're probably going to get threatened with it. And so I wanted to dive into that. What do you think about Tyler? [01:17:21] Branch: Okay, well, tithing cake cake that you know, was sor

The events of 1948 were a joyous celebration for Israelis who got their independence, but it was a time of despair for Palestinians who lost their homeland.  They call it the Nakhba or Catastrophe.  Perhaps 80 or 85% of all the Palestinians inside of what was Green Line Israel on January 1st of 1948  (i.e., internationally recognized boundaries) were in exile on December 31 of 1948.   The Palestinians had lost their lands, their businesses, their bank accounts and even the right to call themselves a people.   Their natural leaders had been pushed aside -- the doctors, the professors, the authors, the businessmen, the heads of the big families, the heads of the political organizations.   This is the story of how they struggled to adapt to that reality. Those following this podcast series can see parallel analysis for looking at the Jews and the Palestinians.  Look at the objective conditions, i.e., what we can measure, and see how those conditions produced certain political outcomes that would not have been predictable before those objective conditions changed. You might want to google the UN  partition plan 181 of 1947, and especially look at a map of that plan.   You might also want to read the UN resolution 194 of 1949 which defines the rights of the Palestinian refugees.  We will discuss both of these but it helps to read in advance. You might also want to look at my briefing document on The Palestinian Refugees of 1948.  That is a very thorough discussion of the data and how different parties to the struggle describe what happened.   You will see in this that the idea of "transferring" the Palestinians to make room for a Jewish state was cooked into the thinking of the great powers, as well as into the thinking of many Zionist Jews.   That document is available free on Deep Blue .  If you missed it, there is a three minute podcast on how to get my Deep Blue documents free. Next we will have a podcast on the PLO Charter and the Hamas Charter.

The state of Israel wouldn't be born if not for the effects of the holocaust which in turn wouldn't have happened if not, in part, due to the assimilation attempts of German Jews and the deep schism between them and Orthodox and Zionist Jews, the latter of which wouldn't have existed if Jews didn't feel they needed to aspire to return to Israel, which wouldn't have happened if not for the “Storms in the South” pogroms of 1881, which wouldn't have started if not for the Jewish role in the revolutions that led to the assassination of Tzar Alexander II, which wouldn't have happened if not for the mass exodus of Jews from their shtetls into the universities - thanks to said Tzar, which was his attempt to emancipate Jews from their Jewish way of life. Dizzy yet? If we're not willing to ask what are the causes of the new antisemitism and then what caused that, and what cause that and what caused that… all the way to what did nature ‘want' when it caused all of this to happen in the first place - we'll never get to the bottom of this. Into the rabbit hole we go. #jew #jewish #antisemitism #history #israel #pogrom #zionism #Russia #shtetl

Why is this happening?Do protestants wave the Israeli flag because “my enemy’s enemy is my friend”, or does the mentality of being under a siege have something to do with it?What common ground did the Zionist Jews and the Irish share in the beginning of the 20th century? Why have Irish Republicans sided with the Palestinian side?Is the conflict in Northern Ireland mostly a religious conflict or rather an outcome of British colonisation and division? How is the culture of ‘say nothing’ affect people’s mental health in Northern Ireland today? What are the dividing lines between sacred and profane in modern Hebrew? And lastly, what could the Irish language potentially learn from modern Hebrew?

You have no constitutional right to open your business or not be vaccinated, argues "constitutional lawyer" Alan Dershowitz, who once defended convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein's "constitutional right" to sexually assault and traffick underage girls to American politicians on behalf of the Israeli Mossad. It's almost as though constitutional rights are whatever Zionist Jews define them as in any given moment. In that same vein... Facebook is apparently so preoccupied with its mission of "fighting hate speech" (i.e. censoring all straight white males who don't hate themselves from the internet) that it took them almost 48 hours to remove a 10,000 member group devoted to pedophilia.  The media was silent for decades while Jewish millionaires and billionaires raped and trafficked white protestant children to American politicians, Facebook can't be bothered to censor pedophilia in any reasonable amount of time, and the left is totally preoccupied with flooding the country with people from places where the average age of consent is 12 years old. Meanwhile, Bill Gates, who was friends with Jeffrey Epstein and has been to pedophile island multiple times, is pushing for mandatory vaccines. And if you don't comply? As former CDC chair Carol Baker puts it: "We'll just get rid of all the whites in the United States." I feel like I'm starting to notice a pattern here... “Culture is the only human practice that can actually dig into the root of a trauma and try to undo it in the first place. And this is why people are so afraid of culture, and in particular theatre. ‘Cause when there’s a human being in front of you having an experience, it’s very difficult to ignore them. It’s hard to ignore a play.” — Dan Fishback Dan Fishback and Motaz Malhees both made waves in the New York theater scene this fall with plays about Palestine. Motaz performed with the Freedom Theatre of Jenin in "The Siege," at the NYU Skirball Center. Meanwhile, Dan's play "Rubble Rubble" was abruptly and controversially cancelled by the American Jewish Historical Society. In this joint interview, Dan and Motaz talk about their work, and explain why culture is their weapon of choice against the injustices of the occupation. MOTAZ: Didn't it make you more like want to do it? DAN: Oh, yeah. MOTAZ: That's a good thing, then.   [MUSIC: Unsettled theme by Nat Rosenzweig]   MAX: Welcome to Unsettled. My name is Max Freedman, I’m one of the producers of Unsettled and your host for today’s episode. Now when I’m not working on this podcast, I’m a theater artist, and I know how hard it can be to make a life in the theater and get your work out there. However hard you think it is, imagine you’re trying to tell stories about the occupied West Bank. Enter Dan Fishback and Motaz Malhees. Dan and Motaz both made waves in the New York theater scene this fall with plays about Palestine. Motaz was in New York performing with the Freedom Theatre of Jenin in “The Siege,” a play about the Israeli siege of the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, during the Second Intifada. Dan, on the other hand, made waves because of a play that didn’t happen, rather than one that did. His play, “Rubble Rubble,” was supposed to go up at the American Jewish Historical Society, but they cancelled it. I’ll let him tell you why -- and what happened next. Dan and Motaz didn’t know each other before, but I had the privilege to get them in the same room to talk about their work and as you’ll hear, they had a lot in common. In preparation for this interview, I dug through years of old journals and found my entry from the day I first met Motaz, when I was in Jenin, three summers ago. Really big and underlined a few times, I had written two words: CULTURAL RESISTANCE. So that’s our theme for today. Quick note: besides the three of us, at one point you’ll hear the voice of my co-producer Ilana Levinson. I think that’s all you need to know, so, let’s get started!   MAX: Welcome to Unsettled. Uh, why don't you start by introducing yourselves? MOTAZ: Eh, first of all I am so happy to be here with you guys that's before I introduce myself. I am Motaz Malhees, so I am an actor from Palestine, I used to work with the Freedom Theatre since 2010. I do a lot of politics theatre but also the same time I do also for community, I do like for kids show. But I feel like, whatever needs, I give, like...it’s not important the type of theatre I do. But nowadays I'm freelance, and I work like with all theatres in Palestine, my country, because I don't want to be just involved with one place -- even that's I always say that the Freedom Theatre, that's my place and my home. DAN: I’m Dan Fishback, I’m a...I make performance and music and theatre in New York, I’ve been here since 2003 -- I don't know, what do you want to know? MAX: Where’d you grow up? DAN: Oh my gosh! I grew up in a pretty normal American Reform Jewish family, outside Washington, DC in Maryland. In a family that...was essentially a liberal Zionist family, although I don't think they would have necessary articulated themselves like that, they just imagine themselves being normal. And I heard growing up, “If only the Palestinians were nonviolent, then they would get what they want. Because they're asking for something reasonable, but it's because they're violent that things are problem....that that's the reason why there's a problem.” And like, the older people around me as I was growing up were always saying, “If only there was a Palestinian Gandhi” -- that was like the refrain, over and over again. And now I find myself 36 years old, going back to my communities and being like, “There’s this huge non-violent Palestinian movement! And it’s international and we can be part of it, it’s boycott, and blah blah blah.” And everyone’s like, “Oh no, no no, this makes us uncomfortable too.” I'm like, “This is what you were begging for my whole childhood! And now it’s here! Why aren’t you excited? Why aren't you as excited as I am?” That’s where I’m from. MOTAZ: That’s cool. DAN: And it’s an honor to be here with Motaz, whose performance in “The Siege” was absolutely amazing. MOTAZ: We not sure, but there is like people who really want to bring it back to the U.S. again, because it was a really successful show like for the Skirball Theatre, even like they almost sold out. MAX: Let me back you up a second, because, I want you to imagine that I have never heard of “The Siege,” have never heard of the Freedom Theatre. Can you tell me -- tell me what it was, tell me what it is. MOTAZ: “The Siege” it's a story about the invasion happened in 2002 in Palestine. There was like eh...invasion for the whole West Bank: in Jenin, in Nablus, all the cities. Like, one of them was Bethlehem, and in Bethlehem there was like a group of fighters, freedom fighters, who fight and defend back from their homeland. They have like many guns defending themselves, and they have in the other side -- the Israeli side -- there is tanks, Apache, Jeeps, all kind of guns you can imagine your life, heavy guns. And they were like around 45 fighters, 250, 245 civilian -- priests, nuns, children, women, and men, from both different religions -- who’s like stuck inside the Nativity Church for 39 days. With the like first five days they have food, after that they have no food. And they surrounded with around 60,000 soldiers from the Israeli army. They want, like, to finish it. So they, they have pressure, they don't wanna -- even the fighters, says khalas, it’s enough. Their people are suffering, their families are suffering outside because of that. So, they sent them like a paper, they have to write their names, the number of their IDs they have, and their signature. So, the fighters sign on it, and they know that's thirteen going to Europe and twenty-five are going to Gaza. They don't know even where they going. So, they sent them to exile the same day. DAN: When my friends and I were leaving the theatre, all we were talking about is, we were so curious about what their lives would be like after fifteen years of exile and we couldn’t wrap our minds around it. MOTAZ: I know one of them is personally, and he told me a lot about it. And it’s really important to bring this piece because of one reason: they didn't choose. Even they signed the paper that say they have to go to exile, but like they was under pressure, and they thought it's temporary and that they would return. And eh, I know how much they are really broken from inside. They never show this to people. But from inside, if you know them personally, they are really broken, and they just...all they want, just to see like at least their families. Some of them, they can’t. Their family, like they can't get the visa to go to visit them -- like, for example, the two guys, Rami Kamel, and Jihadi Jaara who living in Dublin, they haven't seen their families at all. One of them, like Jihadi he have a son that's his wife give birth like after one week he was sent to exile. He didn't even touch his son, he's fifteen years old, like...at least, like, okay, you don't want to send him back to Palestine. Let his family visit him! Like, this is the minimum of humanity. And eh...a really important point we have like always to say: those people was in their homeland, they was in their own city, and they fight back. They didn't went to...yeah, to Tel Aviv to fight, or to somewhere inside Israel, to fight the people over there. They was fighting the…defending themselves from the Israeli army. MAX: How did you get started with the Freedom Theatre? MOTAZ: Woo hoo! Since I was like, eh…fourteen I heard about it, or thirteen -- and I was dreaming about to be in there cause I’m, since like eight, nine, I start doing acting. It's like something I really love from inside, like I really really want to be an actor. Not because like I wanted a name. Because I can hold the stories, I can share stories for all over the world, I enjoy it, it's something beautiful and strong in the same time. So when I was sixteen, I heard about the hip-hop workshop, dance hip-hop workshop in the Freedom Theatre. So I went there and I apply for it, and I get involved with the workshop, and the last few days Juliano just came and he said, “We open a new class for theatre.”   MAX: Juliano, who Motaz just mentioned, is Juliano Mer Khamis, who started what is today, the Freedom Theatre. Real quick, I want to tell you the remarkable story of the Freedom Theatre of Jenin. During the First Intifada, Juliano’s mother, a Jewish Israeli Communist named Arna Mer, came to Jenin, where she helped to establish housing and educational programs for children in the refugee camp there -- and eventually a children’s theatre called The Stone. Arna died of cancer in 1995, and during the Second Intifada, the Stone Theatre was destroyed. Arna’s son Juliano returned to Jenin for the first time since his mother’s death in the immediate aftermath of the Battle of Jenin, and made an incredible film called "Arna’s Children" -- Motaz will tell you more about this in a bit, but it’s on YouTube and I highly recommend it. It was after finishing this film that Juliano returned again to Jenin to found the Freedom Theatre. In 2011, Juliano was assassinated, but the Freedom Theatre has persisted. Alright -- back to Motaz.   MOTAZ: So I get involved and I put myself in that place since 2010. And it’s been like around...now, now you could say like eight years almost. It is...hard and eh, good in the same time. It is, ‘cause you face emotion, a lot of different emotion. But I love it. It's like, it’s become my home now. I’m always there. Even if I have nothing, I go pass by drinking coffee there like, chill, see what's going on, if they need help or something, because I'm part of the family. MAX: Well we met because I went to visit the Freedom Theatre. And you were just hanging around and we sat there and talked for an hour. MOTAZ: Yeah yeah. MAX: Alright, so, Dan. DAN: Yeah. MAX: Tell me about your work and particularly tell me about “Rubble Rubble” and the genesis of that project. MOTAZ: I wanna hear about it. DAN: Well I've been working for the past decade on a trilogy of plays that sort of explore the inner life of the Jewish left in the United States over the past century. And this last play, “Rubble Rubble,” which I've been developing for the past few years, starts in the West Bank in an Israeli settlement. And you find this family that I've been writing plays about -- which is a very far leftist socialist radical family -- you see that that family has split off, and there's like a right-wing side of the family that has become settlers. And the left-wing anti-Zionist member of their family travels to visit them, after they haven’t spoken in twenty years. MOTAZ: Whoa. DAN: And the family confronts each other over his huge chasm, where one person is like a Palestinian solidarity BDS supporter and the rest of the family are like... MOTAZ: Pro-Israel. DAN: They're like settlers! Like living on stolen land, even though, but they’re middle aged American Jews who in the sixties were like radical New Left, you know, people. I’m fascinated by how many American-Israeli Jews were like super far on the left in the United States and then became these horrible oppressors in Israel. It blows my mind that it's possible to make that transition within the course of one life. And so, and that's where the play starts, and um…and I've been developing it for a few years, I went to Israel-Palestine to research for the play, I spent two weeks with interfaith peace builders traveling all through the West Bank and meeting with different non violent Palestinian and Israeli activists. I spent a week interviewing settlers, which was extremely disturbing. Um, and then I’ve been developing this play, and it was gonna have its first public reading at the American Jewish Historical Society in Manhattan and, um, a couple weeks ago -- I guess now around a month ago -- we went to their offices for a meeting and everything was very positive, they were very excited to have us, the staff was very supportive of the work. And we heard that there was a right-wing smear campaign against the organization's new CEO. And we were told, “This is all happening but don't let it bother you. We might have to cancel that other thing, but we're not going to cancel your play, because we, we're really excited about it.” And literally the conversation we had was about raising the budget for our play. Eight hours later, I got an email saying that the play had been canceled. MOTAZ: What? Was there any explanation about it? DAN: Well, I knew that it was... The institution itself never sent me like a formal letter or anything, but I knew that it was because of this right-wing Zionist pressure campaign that they were being pressured to fire their new CEO, and in order to try to get rid of that critique, they were just going to get rid of us. And the staff of the American Jewish Historical Society was very supportive of me, and I don't see them as my enemies at all. It was the board of directors, or at least a small group from the board, met in the middle of the night and made this decision. And this is what happens all the time in Jewish organizations: the people actually doing work are willing to make brave choices, and the people who are funding that work are not willing to let anyone make those choices. MOTAZ: Yeah yeah yeah, this happened with the same thing almost with us. DAN: Yeah, at the Public, right? MOTAZ: Yeah yeah yeah, it's almost the same, I like, I don't know who’s stand with us or who is against us, but we had this question for Oskar, which is the Artistic Director of the Public Theater, and his answer was really diplomatic answer and I respect -- no Oskar, he’s really great guy and he was one of the supporters to bring this play over here, and the most important thing, he says, that's to bring “The Siege” for the New Yorker people and we did it. It’s not about the place. DAN: Well, that was interesting about Oskar Eustis and “The Siege,” is that it was supposed to be at the Public Theater, the board canceled that choice. But Oskar, who is the Artistic Director of the Public Theater, he had notes in the program for “The Siege” production at the Skirball Center. And I was like, this is so unusual that you open the program and you see notes from the director of the theatre that canceled the play! MOTAZ: Yeah yeah. But, I want to hear more about Dan play, man. DAN: Sure, yeah. MOTAZ: I would like to know what is the story? DAN: Well, I can tell you about the story of what happens in the play, but what I also want to say is that, after we were canceled, the New York theatre world became incredibly supportive of us. And people really came out of nowhere to offer support and offer help. We raised our budget that had been canceled from American Jewish Historical Society within three days. MOTAZ: Whoa. DAN: Yeah. And we were offered resources that we couldn't have ever imagined. And to me, that was a huge sign that the people who are trying to censor dissident voices around Israel-Palestine are going to fail in humiliation. Because our work is stronger than ever after having been canceled, because people are so angry about it. People who are, who don't really know very much about it, are angry about it. And there are left-wing Zionists in my life who don't agree with me, but who are so angry that the play was canceled -- and it’s put them in a situation where they are more open to my ideas, and more open to considering the ideas of the play. So, I mean -- and we’re going to do the reading of the play, it's going happen next year, the details aren't confirmed, but it's going to be bigger and more interesting and more spectacular than it would have been if it hadn’t been canceled in the first place. Which is interesting. The play itself -- it’s funny because the people who canceled it never read it. And it's weird, like if they read it I think they'd be like, “Oh, this is weird.” It's a weird play. The first act is like a very traditional living room drama in a family. So, there's the aunt and uncle, who are middle-aged formerly left-wing radical American Jews who live in a settlement. There's their radical nephew, who shares my politics but is not a sympathetic person. He’s kind of...nasty and annoying and neurotic. And he’s there with his partner who’s Colombian and has no context for any of this. So I really wanted there to be a character who doesn't really have any stake in the game, doesn't have any history with Israel-Palestine, just comes from another part of the world entirely, but who has...a personal history of violence. Because he grew up in a part of Colombia that experienced a lot of violence. Whereas, I think a lot of white American Jews, violence, revolution, all these ideas are abstract concepts, and we don't experience them in our real lives. So he's coming at -- that character, who in a way is the central character of the play -- is coming at things from a totally different context. And I don't want to give anything away, but by the end of the first act, things go horribly wrong, and the first act ends with an enormous disaster. And the second act begins, and it's a musical, and it takes place in Moscow in 1905. And it's the same family, but a century before, and the matriarch of the family is building bombs for the socialist revolution of 1905. MOTAZ: So it’s almost flashback? DAN: It’s like a flash -- it's like an ancestral flashback. MOTAZ: That’s interesting. DAN: So you see the ancestor of the same family, and she's like a socialist revolutionary. She's building a bomb, she wants to like blow up the Tsar. And...and the ideas of the first act are sort of filtered through the music of the second act, where you see her with her socialist comrades. And what I want to ask is: How did this family go from here to there? How did it get from one place to the other? And, and the other question that I'm really interested in asking is like: Once you learn that there's an enormous injustice around you, how far are you willing to go to stop it from happening? How much violence are you willing to accept in order to stop something? Which is a huge question, I think, for anti-Zionist Jews when it comes to Palestine, like how...what are we supposed to do, knowing this horrible thing is going on? It's a huge question within Palestinian society, obviously, like what are you willing to do to stop this from happening? And it’s been a huge question throughout Jewish political history, which is full of violent resistance to injustice, and we act like were so horrified by violence, but Jewish history is full of it. So, those are the questions that I'm dealing with, and I don't think that the play offers any straightforward answers. And that's the interesting thing about the play being canceled or censored, is that the play itself is about what happens when two sides of a Jewish family can't communicate, and shun each other. And that’s what’s happened with the play, that we were being shunned just like family members are being shunned. And when I was in Israel, researching the play, and I would tell people what the play was about -- you know, it's about a Jewish family that's separated over Israel, and the Israeli side doesn't talk to the American side -- and every single person I talked to was like, “Oh, that's just like my family. That's my family, that happened to us.” And I was like, oh, right. This is bad for everybody. This destroys families, this injustice is destroying everybody involved in it. MOTAZ: Yeah, I mean like, even if it’s happened, like something like, my grandparents, whatever it takes place, I will not do the same thing in a different place. DAN: Right? This is the big Jewish catastrophe of the twentieth century, that you take one of two decisions, right? You either, you take all the trauma and you say, “This will never happen to us again, and we will do anything to protect us.” Or you say, “This will never happen to anyone again.” MOTAZ: What, like, Jewish used to live in Yemen, Morocco, Egypt, Palestine, many Arab countries, there was normal to see like this Muslim, Christian and a Jewish neighbor and eh, like an atheist beside him, and all of them are living in the Arab world like normally, like -- let's be honest, even though the Arab history is not clear, like there is many bad things from the Arab history also like... But eh, we used to live like together, so the thing is not religion. I don’t believe it’s religion, it’s mentality. It’s... DAN: I was talking, I was having an argument in a restaurant a couple years ago with a Zionist Jew, and we were fighting really passionately. And someone, a stranger came up to our table and said, “Guys, stop fighting about this. It's an ancient struggle that's been going on thousands of years.” And we both looked at him, both of us agreed, we were like, “No, it isn't! This is new, this is in the past like less than 200 years that this has happened, come on.” We were like, “Go sit down. Finish your lunch, hon. Get out of our faces.” There's so many lies about it. But this is...I feel like this is the work, this is the cultural work of American Jewishness right now. We've been brought up with such a distorted understanding of the world. And it's gonna take so much cultural work to undo it all. MOTAZ: Yeah, and it's gonna make a lot of enemies at the same time. DAN: Oh yeah. But I think my situation proves that it's also gonna get…it's not gonna be completely a disaster. You know, everyone -- so many people warned me against making work like this. And yeah, I got canceled, but in the process, I have tremendously powerful friends now that I didn't make before. MOTAZ: Doesn't it make you stronger after they cancel it? DAN: Yeah, of course. Yeah. MOTAZ: Didn't it make you more like want to do it? DAN: Oh, yeah. MOTAZ: That's a good thing, then. Okay, what’s the next question? MAX: So, for both of you, why is culture your weapon of choice? MOTAZ: Woo hoo! Because eh… Dan, you go ahead. DAN: ‘Cause its more powerful! Like…violence only ever creates more violence. I think this, like, even when it's necessary, it ends up being true. Culture is the only human practice that can actually dig into the root of a trauma and try to undo it in the first place. Um, and this is why people are so afraid of culture, and in particular theatre. ‘Cause when there's a human being in front of you having an experience, it’s very difficult to ignore them. It's hard to ignore a play. And, and so many…especially, so many American Zionist Jews are under -- on an emotional level, understand that their perspective is impossible. ‘Cause if you ask most American Jews, “Do you believe that it is right for a country to privilege one ethno-religious group over others?” Most of them will say, “No, that’s wrong. That is a wrong thing.” And then you say, “Well, what about Israel?” and they'll go, “Uhhhhhh…” But the fundamental truth, the deeper truth is that none of us actually support this. It's, the the support for Israel is the more superficial belief. The deeper belief is that this is wrong. Good plays, good art, good visual art, good music, good anything about this will help strip away the sort of superficial attachment to the, to the story of Israel, and help people get to the deeper belief that supremacy is wrong. No matter who is supreme in any given situation, it will always be wrong. ILANA: Sorry, I just wanna um, in the conversation about Zionism, I’m wondering... DAN: Do you want me to define that? ILANA: Yeah, I’m wondering specifically if you think any form of Zionism involves supremacy and that kind of thing. DAN: You know, I identify as an anti-Zionist Jew, and a lot of people, a lot of people will say, “Oh, don't say that, because it’s icky, it makes us uncomfortable to say you're anti-Zionist. Because, 'cause what does that really mean.” And for me, if it was the early 1900s, maybe I would have identified as like a Cultural Zionist. But to me, the way the word Zionism functions in the world, it’s support for a Jewish state of Israel. And to me, that means that Zionism inherently requires one to believe that Jews should reign supreme in this land, and I think that that's an untenable option. MAX: I…I sort of wanna respond. DAN: You wanna get into it, Max? MAX: No, I don't -- no, I don’t wanna argue with you…that's not… I will confess that I am skeptical of people who call themselves anti-Zionists who are not Jewish and not Palestinian. I... DAN:  Yeah yeah yeah, me too. I think that part of the, part of what it means to liberate Jews in the world, is to liberate us from our trauma, and to liberate us from that pain that…that distracts us from the reality of the world. And that requires our friends to help us get through that trauma, and to help us liberate ourselves from that trauma, and that requires non-Jewish people who oppose Zionism to make sure that we are emotionally capable of, um, of joining with them and being in community with them. And to me that's always like a challenge to my non-Jewish friends and comrades to be like, if we’re gonna do this together you need to understand that we’re…we just barely made it alive into this century, and a lot of us have like legitimate fears for our lives. I mean, we’re living in the United States where there's like a Nazi problem, right? Like our fear of violence is real and legitimate and um, when people say there's like no anti-semitism on the left in the United States, to me that's like so foolish. Like obviously, there's some anti-semitism in any part of the world, in any community. MOTAZ: Of course, of course…that's true. DAN: And when we pretend it doesn't exist, then we’re...I think we make so many other Jews feel unsafe joining us in this movement, because we're saying something that's obviously untrue and they don't trust us ‘cause it sounds like we’re lying to them. From my perspective, we need to say it: yeah, there's totally some anti-semitism on the left. And we need to deal with it, and our non-Jewish comrades need to deal with it, so that we can see that this is a safe place for us to be. MOTAZ: Nobody called you before, like you are anti-semitic after all the things you did? DAN: Oh yeah. MOTAZ: And you are Jewish. DAN: Oh yeah. Motaz, I need to tell you, I've gotten a lot of hate mail in my life and it's never as aggressive as other Jews. They’re the ones that tell me I should die. What they always say is, “You should go to Palestine, where they’d kill you.” They say this all the time, and I’m like, “I’ve been to Palestine, dude!” MOTAZ: So if some of the guys gonna hear this interview, Dan, you more than welcome in my house in Jenin. Nobody gonna kill you, you gonna love it. So come back to the first question? MAX: Yes, yes, finally... MOTAZ: Why cultural... Because I'm fed up. I have seen like many people got killed in this entire world since I was born. And see blood everywhere, why it’s need to be violent? Why that question? Why don't we turn the opposite question: why we have to be violent? Because it's like, we fed up, we are like, we are human. There is many people that think, like, “Oh, they was born like this.” No, they was not born like this. There is something happen to them. Like, if you watch there is a really important and good movie, it’s called “Arna’s Children,” Little kids, he talking about this story a lot, little kids. And they was dreaming about to be a Romeo of Palestine, them want to be Juliet, one of them he want to be Al Pacino. They wanna be actors. Suddenly, in a moment in 2002, you see those people got killed. And they became a freedom fighter before. Why? One of them his mother got killed by a sniper. One of them, after they bomb a school, he went to the school and he grabbed the body of a girl and she was almost alive, while he was running through the hospital, she died. So, his...of course he was gonna have a flip in his mind, and he gonna hold the gun and fight. So those people, they didn't like came from nothing. There is a reason always to do this. Even like I'm not into like guns or things, that's why I choose also art because I believe art is more stronger than a gun. And I don’t want to see any person on earth suffer. Like death is coming anyway, like you gonna die, but why we have to kill each other? Destroying, destroying. Like, I can make art which is strong, I can bring the messages, not just from my place, from all over the world and develop it to the stage. And eh… I think it's, let's make it, let's be cultural more. Let's let the art talk. And eh, we not gonna fake history, we not gonna fake stories, we gonna bring the story as it is. DAN: And this is why they’re so afraid of theatre. MOTAZ: Yeah! DAN: Because theatre shows the reasons why a person does something, and they don't wanna look at the reasons. MOTAZ: Man, I start to believe in this thing in 2012. I was going to the theatre in a taxi and there was checkpoint, and they stop me. ‘Cause I have no ID. I told him, like “I’m late for my theatre.” And he said, “Oh, you’re going to the Freedom Theatre.” He said like, “Come on man, they killed Juliano, they could kill you too.” And I said like “Why?” He said like, “Art will not change anything man. Why you need it?” And I said, “It's fine, for you it's nothing, but for me...” And he told me, “If you don't have your ID next time, you go to prison. And I promise you.” So since that time I just realize how much art is strong, and how much they afraid from art.   MAX: Here’s Motaz in a scene from “Return to Palestine,” devised by graduates of the Freedom Theatre acting school. [Excerpt from "Return to Palestine," in Arabic]   MAX: So, the work I do here in New York City is mostly with an organization called Theatre of the Oppressed NYC. MOTAZ: Yeah, I know. MAX: Where I work with a lot of different groups of people. Right now I’m working at Housing Works, which is an organization that um…I think this is the blurb from their website, “works to end the twin crises of HIV/AIDS and homelessness.” MOTAZ: Whoa. DAN: Easy. MAX: Yeah, right? I’m working with a group of folks from Housing Works on a play that they created about their experiences trying to keep and get affordable housing, with housing vouchers that they have because of their status. And… that’s just one example, I’ve worked on a lot of plays, and the way that sometimes I think about what those plays are meant to do, is is kind of in two areas: there’s the sort of, I mean, the way that I talk about it with my family, which is very much in the kind of like raising awareness camp, in the sense that people come to see these plays, they don’t know anything about tenant harassment in New York City and they learn about it. And then, really what it was designed to do by the folks who came up with this stuff in Brazil in the seventies, which is to build capacity in that community. Um, these theater tools are tools for people to work together to make change. I’m wondering if that resonates with you at all, and sort of -- what do you see your work in theater doing? DAN: Obviously I like plays that do all of these things at the same time. MOTAZ: Yeah. DAN: But, as a playwright, if you go into a project with too much of a vision of like what kind of responses you want from your audience -- an audience knows when you’re trying to manipulate them, and at the end of the day, an audience knows when something is authentic. So, being a playwright is about balancing your vision for what you want to happen in the room, and your relationship to your own imagination and your own impulses. MOTAZ: And the thing is like, if you don’t believe it, the actors will never believe it, then the audience will never believe it. DAN: Yeah, totally, and a lot of political theatre gets a bad rap, because I think a lot of political theatre is only thinking about, how can we make an impact with this audience? And it feels false. MOTAZ: I’m interested to know about, Dan, like -- normally, when you write, you give solution for the people? Or you give them a question to find the solution? DAN: I don’t give solutions, no. MOTAZ: You give a question. DAN: I give the questions. Yeah yeah yeah yeah. MOTAZ: Good, yeah. DAN: If I feel like I know concretely an answer to something, then I don’t need to write the play. I will just write an essay.   [MUSIC: Cheese on Bread, “All Your Sisters”]   MAX: Motaz had to leave, and I got to talk to Dan for a little while longer about the difference between boycott and censorship, and why he wants to start identifying as a “liberationist Jew.” If you’re not already subscribed, SUBSCRIBE to Unsettled on your podcatcher of choice -- because, in a couple weeks, you’ll get a bonus episode with the rest of our conversation. Former French Foreign Minister: The War against Syria was Planned Two years before “The Arab Spring”

By Gearóid Ó Colmáin; Global Research, June 15, 2013 In an interview with the French TV station LCP, former French minister for Foreign Affairs Roland Dumas said: ‘’ I’m going to tell you something. I was in England two years before the violence in Syria on other business. I met with top British officials, who confessed to me that they were preparing something in Syria. This was in Britain not in America. Britain was organizing an invasion of rebels into Syria. They even asked me, although I was no longer minister for foreign affairs, if I would like to participate. Naturally, I refused, I said I’m French, that doesn’t interest me.’’ Dumas went on give the audience a quick lesson on the real reason for the war that has now claimed the lives of tens of thousands of people. ‘’This operation goes way back. It was prepared, preconceived and planned… in the region it is important to know that this Syrian regime has a very anti-Israeli stance. Consequently, everything that moves in the region- and I have this from the former Israeli prime minister who told me ‘we’ll try to get on with our neighbours but those who don’t agree with us will be destroyed. It’s a type of politics, a view of history, why not after all. But one should know about it.’’ Dumas is a retired French foreign minister who is obliged to use discretion when revealing secrets which could affect French foreign policy. That is why he made the statement ‘I am French, that doesn’t interest me’.  He could not reveal France’s role in the British plan as he would be exposing himself to prosecution for revealing state secrets. There have been many disinformation agents in the British and French press, many of them well known ‘leftist’ war correspondents and commentators, who have tried to pretend that Israel secretly supports Assad.  Those who make such arguments are either stupid, ignorant or deliberate disinformation agents of NATO and Israel. Israel’s support for Al Qaeda militants in Syria has even been admitted by the mainstream press. For example, Germany’s Die Welt newspaper published a report on June 12th on Israel’s medical treatment of the Al Qaeda fighters. Israel planned this war of annihilation years ago in accordance with the Yinon Plan, which advocates balkanization of all states that pose a threat to Israel. The Zionist entity is using Britain and France to goad the reluctant Obama administration into sending more American troops to their death in Syria on behalf of Tel Aviv. Of all the aggressor states against Syria, Israel has been the quietest from the start. That is because Laurent Fabius, Francois Holland, William Hague and David Cameron are doing their bidding by attempting to drag Israel’s American Leviathan into another ruinous war so that Israel can get control of the Middle East’s energy reserves, eventually replacing the United States as the ruling state in the world. It has also been necessary for Tel Aviv to remain silent so as not to expose their role in the ‘revolutions’, given the fact that the Jihadist fanatics don’t realize they are fighting for Israel. This is the ideology of Zionism which cares no more for Jews than it does for its perceived enemies.   The Jewish colony is determined to become a ruling state in the Middle East in the insane delusion that this will enable it to replace the United States as a global hegemon, once the US collapses fighting Israel’s wars. Israeli Prime Minister once told American talk show host Bill Maher that the reason why Israel always wins short conflicts, while the United States gets bogged down in endless wars. ‘’ The secret is that we have America’’, he said. But Israel is itself slowly collapsing. If one excludes the enslaved Palestinian population, the Jewish state still has the highest level of poverty in the developed world with more and more Jews choosing to leave the ‘promised’ land, a garrison state led by mad men, an anti-Semitic entity threatening to engulf the world in war and destruction. Israel cares no more about its own working class Jews than any other ethnic community. In fact, if the Likudnik crooks running the Israeli colony get their way, working class Israelis will be among the first to pay as they are conscripted to fight terrorists created by their own government. With orthodox Jews protesting in the streets of New York against Israel and Haredi Jewish minority opposing Israel’s rampant militarism, Zionism is coming under increased attack from Jewish religious authorities and non-Zionist Jews both inside and outside of the occupied territories. This is not the first time that Roland Dumas has spoken out against wars of aggression waged by successive French regimes. In 2011 he revealed that he had been asked by the United States when he was foreign minister in the Mitterrand administration to organize the bombing of Libya. On that occasion the French refused to cooperate.  Dumas, a lawyer by profession, offered to defend Colonel Gaddafi, at the International Criminal Court in the event of his arrest by Nato. Dumas was also vocal in condemning France’s brutal neo-colonial bombing of the Ivory Coast earlier in 2011, were death squads and terrorists similar to those later deployed in Libya and Syria were unleashed upon the Ivoirian population in order to install a IMF puppet dictator Alassane Quattara in power. Gbagbo was described as one of the greatest African leaders of the past 20 years by Jean Ziegler, sociologist and former member of the Advisory Committee of the UN Human Rights Council. Gbagbo had plans to nationalize banks and wrest control of the country’s currency from the colonial finance institutions in Paris. He also wanted to roll back many of the worst effects of IMF restructuring by nationalizing industries and creating a functioning, universal free health service. All of this threatened the interests of French corporations in the former French colony. So, the Parisian oligarchy went to work to find a suitable replacement as caretaker of their Ivoirian colony. They sent in armed terrorist gangs, or ‘rebel’s in the doublespeak of imperialism, who murdered all before them while the French media blamed president Gbagbo for the violence that ensued. Gbagbo and Gaddafi had opposed Africom, the Pentagon’s plan to recolonize Africa. That was another reason for the  2011 bombing of their two African countries. The formula is always the same. Imperialism backs ‘rebels’, whenever its interests are threatened by regimes that love their country more than foreign corporations.  One should not forgot that during the Spanish Civil War of 1936, General Franco and his cronies were also ‘rebels’ and they, like their counterparts in Libya in 2011, were bombed to power by foreign powers, replacing a progressive, republican administration with fascism. There are pro-Israeli fanatics in France who have used the analogy of the Spanish Civil War as justification for intervention in Libya and Syria. The pseudo-philosopher Henry Bernard Levy is one of them.  Of course, the ignoramus Levy doesn’t realize that the reason France, England and the USA did not officially intervene in the Spanish Civil War is because they were covertly helping the ‘rebels’ from the start. They enabled arms shipments to the Francoist ‘rebels’ while preventing arms deliveries to the Spanish government, who, like Syria today, were helped by Moscow. Anyone who has studied the Spanish Civil War knows that all the imperialist countries wanted Franco as a bulwark against communism. There is nothing imperialism loves more than a rebel without a cause. What imperialism hates, however, are revolutionaries. That is why the ‘rebels’ which imperialism sends into other countries to colonize them on behalf of foreign banks and corporations, have to be marketed as ‘revolutionaries’ in order to assure the support of the Monty Python brigade of petty-bourgeois, ‘ leftist’ dupes such as Democracy Now! and their ilk. Dumas is not the only top French official to denounce the New World Order.  Former French ambassador to Syria Michel Raimbaud wrote a book in 2012  entitled ‘Le Soudan dans tous les états’, where he revealed how Israel planned and instigated a civil war in South Sudan in order to balkanize a country led by a pro-Palestinian government. He also exposed the pro-Israeli media groups and ‘human rights’ NGOS who created the ‘humanitarian’ narrative calling for military intervention by the United States in the conflict. The subject was covered extensively by African investigative journalist Charles Onana in his 2009 book, Al-Bashir & Darfour LA CONTRE ENQUÊTE. There are many more retired French officials who are speaking out about the ruinous policies of this French government, including the former head of French domestic intelligence Yves Bonnet. There have also been reports of dissent in the French armed forces and intelligence apparatus. After the assassination of Colonel Gaddafi in October 2011, the former French ambassador to Libya Christian Graeff told French radio station France Culture that it was responsible for the diffusion of lies and war propaganda on behalf of Nato throughout the war.  Graeff also warned the broadcasters that such disinformation could only work on the minds of serfs but not in a country of free minds. The power of the Israeli lobby in France is a subject rarely discussed in polite circles. In France there is a law against questioning or denial of the holocaust. However, denial of the Korean holocaust, Guatemalan holocaust, Palestinian holocaust, Indonesian holocaust and the dozens of other US/Israeli supported genocides is not only perfectly legal but is the respectable norm. The same lobby which introduced the Loi Gayssot in 1990, effectively ending freedom of expression in France, would also like to ban any independent investigations of genocides whose narratives they have written, such as the Rwanda genocide, where Israel played a key role in supporting the ‘rebels’ led by Paul Kagame, who invaded Rwanda from Uganda from 1991 to 1994, leading to the genocide of both Tutus and Tutsis. Many serious scholars have written about the Rwandan genocide, which the Israel lobby repeatedly uses as a case study to justify ‘humanitarian’ intervention by Western powers.  The Zionist thought police would like to see such authors prosecuted for ‘negating’ imperialism’s disgusting lies on African conflicts. Now, the Israeli Lobby is forcing the (their) French government to prosecute twitter messages which the lobby deems ‘anti-Semitic’. This is one further step towards the creation of a totalitarian state where any criticism of imperialism, foreign wars, racism, oppression, perhaps eventually capitalism itself could fall under the rubric of ‘anti-Semitism’. These people are sick, and those who cow down to them are sicker. Perhaps the etymology of sickness, a word cognate with the German Sicherheit (security) according to dictionary.com, is not a coincidence. For what is particularly sick about our society is the cult of security,  endless surveillance, ubiquitous cameras, the cult of the all seeing eye, the prurient gaze as part of the incessant discourse on terrorism by those who specialize in the training of the very terrorists they claim to be protecting us from.  Whether or not the words security and sickness are linguistically related, they are certainly cognate in a philosophical sense. Roland Dumas and others like him should be highly commended for having to guts to say what so many others are too morally corrupt, too weak and cowardly to admit. As the French government and its media agencies drum up hysteria for war on Syria, Roland Dumas, now in the twilight of his years, is warning people of the consequences of not understanding where Israel is leading  the world. Will enough people heed the warning? Thats All every body, thanks for listening. Goodnight and goodbye
