The businesses that win are the ones clearly signaling expertise, credibility, and relevance in ways machines can easily understand, which ultimately changes how trust is built online. Tune in to this episode of the Smart Business Revolution Podcast as John Corcoran interviews Joshua (Josh) Hanosh, Co-founder and Vice President of Three29, to discuss how to get found in AI search. Some places change you the moment you arrive. Alnoba is one of them. In this conversation, Wendy Peirce, Vice President of Salles, shares how her path led her to Alnoba—and why this land, this work, and this community feel so deeply alive. What begins as a leadership and team development retreat quickly reveals itself as something much more: a space where nature, spirituality, and real human connection come together in a way that's hard to put into words… but impossible to forget. We talk about the vision of Alnoba's founders, Alan and Harriet Lewis, and their deep reverence for the land—how conservation, philanthropy, and community impact aren't side notes here, they're the foundation. Wendy reflects on how being in nature naturally softens us, opens us, and invites the kind of curiosity and honesty that real growth requires. There's a strong throughline in this conversation: growth doesn't happen when we're comfortable. It happens when we're willing to step into the unknown, ask better questions, and stay present—even when it's uncomfortable. Alnoba creates the conditions for that kind of transformation, both for individuals and for teams trying to lead with more alignment, purpose, and heart. This episode is about leadership, yes—but it's also about listening, relationships, and what becomes possible when we slow down enough to let a place work on us. Find Alnoba by clicking here.

Ori Bendet, Vice President of Product Management at Checkmarx, joined Doug Green, Publisher of Technology Reseller News, to discuss how the acquisition of Tromzo strengthens Checkmarx's agentic application security strategy and reflects a broader shift in how organizations secure software in an AI-driven development era. Bendet explained that Checkmarx, a pioneer in application security with more than two decades of experience, has traditionally focused on helping organizations identify vulnerabilities early in the software development lifecycle (SDLC). However, the rapid adoption of AI-generated code has fundamentally changed the AppSec landscape. “The industry used to be fixated on finding vulnerabilities,” Bendet said. “Now the real challenge is fixing them at scale, in context, and without slowing developers down.” The Tromzo acquisition builds on Checkmarx's existing family of agentic tools, Checkmarx Assist, which already provides real-time remediation inside the developer IDE. Tromzo extends these capabilities deeper into the SDLC, enabling automated remediation at the repository and pull-request stages. Together, the technologies aim to “complete the loop” by delivering consistent, trusted remediation from early development through later stages of deployment. Bendet noted that AI is widening the gap between development velocity and security oversight, as significantly more code—and therefore more vulnerabilities—is being produced. At the same time, the application footprint itself is evolving to include AI components such as large language models, agents, and third-party AI services. “There is now a new AI element inside the application,” he said, “and organizations need AppSec solutions that understand and protect that expanded footprint.” Auto-remediation, once viewed skeptically by developers, is now gaining acceptance as AI agents gain a deeper understanding of application context. According to Bendet, modern agentic tools can remediate vulnerabilities while preserving business logic and minimizing disruption. “Developers no longer need to spend days undoing fixes that broke functionality,” he said. “The agent can understand the blast radius and refactor automatically.” Looking ahead, Bendet described a future where AppSec becomes more autonomous, with agents continuously testing, fixing, and validating applications while developers shift toward higher-level architectural and review roles. With proper guardrails in place, this evolution promises to reduce alert fatigue and allow teams to focus on innovation rather than remediation backlogs. More information about Checkmarx and its agentic application security approach is available at https://checkmarx.com/, with additional developer-focused resources at https://checkmarx.dev/.

The recent challenges facing our state have created widespread disruption and tragic loss of life. For the past several weeks, representatives of Minnesota's business community have been working every day behind the scenes with federal, state and local officials to advance real solutions. These efforts have included close communication with the Governor, the White House, the Vice President and local mayors. There are ways for us to come together to foster progress. With yesterday's tragic news, we are calling for an immediate deescalation of tensions and for state, local and federal officials to work together to find real solutions. We have been working for generations to build a strong and vibrant state here in Minnesota and will do so in the months and years ahead with equal and even greater commitment. In this difficult moment for our community, we call for peace and focused cooperation among local, state and federal leaders to achieve a swift and durable solution that enables families, businesses, our employees, and communities across Minnesota to resume our work to build a bright and prosperous future. “3M – William Brown, Chairman and CEOAmeriprise Financial – James Cracchiolo, Chairman and CEOAPi Group – Russell Becker, CEOBest Buy – Corie Barry, CEO C.H. The violence and loss of life in our community is incredibly painful. I know it's weighing heavily on many of you across the country, as it is with me. But part of loving the country is the American duty to push back against overreach. What's happening with ICE is going too far. There is a big difference between deporting violent criminals and what's happening now, and we need to get the distinction right. President Trump is a very strong leader, and I hope he will rise to this moment and unite the country. I am encouraged by the last few hours of response and hope to see trust rebuilt with transparent investigations. As a company, we aim to stick to our convictions and not get blown around by changing fashions too much. We didn't become super woke when that was popular, we didn't start talking about masculine corporate energy when that was popular, and we are not going to make a lot of performative statements now about safety or politics or anything else. But we are going to continue to try to figure out how to actually do the right thing as best as we can, engage with leaders and push for our values, and speak up clearly about it as needed.James Dyett, Global Business at OpenAI: “There is far more outrage from tech leaders over a wealth tax than masked ICE agents terrorizing communities and executing civilians in the streets. An Anthropic spokeswoman said the company did not have contracts with ICE.ICEout.tech statement from January 24, 2026: "We condemn the Border Patrol's killing of Alex Pretti and the violent surge of federal agents across our cities. The wanton brutality we've seen from ICE and CBP has removed any credibility that these actions are about immigration enforcement. Their goal is terror, cruelty, and suppression of dissent. This must end. Tech professionals are speaking up against this brutality, and we call on all our colleagues who share our values to use their voice. We know our industry leaders have leverage: in October, they persuaded Trump to call off a planned ICE surge in San Francisco, and big tech CEOs are in the White House tonight. Now they need to go further, and join us in demanding ICE out of all of our cities." 811: 508 names; 19 one name with title, 284 role onlyReid Hoffman says business leaders are wrong to stay silent about the Trump administrationThe LinkedIn cofounder and tech investor said in an episode of the "Rapid Response" podcast published Tuesday that he rejects the idea that executives can simply wait out political turbulence: "The theory that if you just keep your mouth shut, the storm will blow over and it won't be a problem — you should be disabused of that theory now," Hoffman said.Palantir Defends Work With ICE to Staff Following Killing of Alex Pretti: Leadership defended its work as in part improving “ICE's operational effectiveness.”

Send me a messageEurope is drowning in cheap clean power, and still wasting it.The problem isn't renewables. It's what happens when the grid can't cope with abundance. In this episode of the Climate Confident Podcast, I'm joined by Oonagh O'Grady, Vice President of International Origination at Hydrostor, a global leader in long-duration energy storage. We dig into one of the most under-discussed blockers of the energy transition: what happens after wind and solar scale, but before the grid is ready.Oonagh explains why short-duration batteries, while essential, aren't enough once renewables reach 40–50% of the system. We unpack why grids are hitting curtailment, negative pricing, and instability, and why eight to twenty-four hours of long-duration energy storage is fast becoming the backbone of a reliable, net-zero power system. You'll hear why advanced compressed air energy storage can deliver fossil-free, utility-scale flexibility for decades, how it compares with batteries and pumped hydro on cost and performance, and why inertia and grid stability are suddenly back in the spotlight after recent European outages. We also get into the policy side: what leading regions like California, Australia, and the UK are getting right, and what Europe must do now if it wants secure, affordable, decarbonised electricity in the 2030s.This is a grounded, evidence-led conversation about climate tech that actually works at scale - and a reminder that without long-duration storage, the energy transition stalls just when it should be accelerating.

In this episode of the AI Agent & Copilot Podcast, John Siefert is joined by Shawn Dorward, Vice President at sa.global and a second-year leader on the Programming Committee Board. Together, they explore how the AI landscape has evolved from curiosity to execution, what made the 2026 AI Agent & Copilot Summit NA speaker selection process so competitive, and how leadership, creativity, and intentional AI adoption are shaping the future of enterprise innovation.Key Takeaways• Creativity without constraints: Dorward says that AI removes many historical limitations, forcing leaders to think without predefined rules. The most compelling session proposals challenged conventional narratives, offering unconventional ideas that expanded what attendees believed was possible. This creative freedom is essential as organizations explore entirely new operating models enabled by AI.• Intentional AI wins: Both speakers stress that success won't come from using AI everywhere, but from using it intentionally. Knowing when not to apply AI is just as important as knowing when to deploy it. Organizations that align AI usage with clear business goals will outperform those chasing technology for its own sake.• Leadership must evolve: AI-driven enterprises demand a new kind of leadership — one that blends technical understanding with human judgment, ethics, and change management. That kind of leadership, not technology, will ultimately differentiate organizations in an agentic world. “What everybody doesn't have is the same leadership," he says. "The human element, the people element is what will separate people organizations.” Visit Cloud Wars for more.

It's now one of the largest THC beverage brands in California, with a rapidly expanding national footprint across both regulated cannabis and hemp markets. In this episode, Theo Terris, co-founder and CEO of Uncle Arnie's, walks through how the company built momentum in a fragmented, highly regulated category — despite having no background in beverage, cannabis, or CPG. That outsider perspective shows up everywhere: From approachable branding and packaging that educates consumers, to a relentless focus on partners and execution.Theo explains why Uncle Arnie's leaned into full-flavor, familiar formats like teas, lemonades, sodas, and functional shots instead of chasing seltzer trends — and how thoughtful dose architecture (2.5mg, 5mg, 10mg) unlocked both sessionability and compliance across myriad state-by-state regulations. He also details how consumer education, including clear onset-time cues on packaging, helped reduce friction for first-time buyers and retailers alike. The conversation offers a rare, unvarnished look at what scaling actually looks like in THC beverages. Theo breaks down how Uncle Arnie's approached distribution market by market, why merchandising remains one of the category's biggest challenges, and how mature states like California and Minnesota provide a preview of where the space is headed. For investors, Theo shares how Uncle Arnie's raised capital opportunistically — recently closing a $7.5 million Series A with Mindset Capital, Delta Emerald Ventures, and strategic investor Harry Rubin of Boston Beer — and why mentorship and operational rigor mattered as much as funding. Even amid regulatory uncertainty, the brand continues to expand, landing in major retail chains and adding new points of distribution. The bigger takeaway: This isn't a hype-driven THC story. It's a grounded, data-aware discussion about building a real beverage business in a nascent and rapidly changing category.Whether you're a drinks founder, retailer, distributor, or investor tracking where the next major beverage movement is forming, this episode delivers insight into what's actually working — and what matters most when scaling in emerging categories.Don't miss our next episode, dropping on February 4.For the latest updates, follow us:Business of Drinks:YouTubeLinkedInInstagram @bizofdrinksErica Duecy, co-host: Erica Duecy is founder and co-host of Business of Drinks and one of the drinks industry's most accomplished digital and content strategists. This January marks the anniversary of the conclusion of Operation Just Cause, which began days before Christmas, on December 20th, 1989, when about 27,000 US troops deployed to Panama. Their mission was to capture Panama's notorious dictator, General Manuel Noriega, whom the US had indicted for drug trafficking. Noriega had also been suppressing unarmed demonstrators, gathering intelligence on the local population, and harassing Americans- wielding weapons from the Soviet bloc. International Spy Museum Executive Director Chris Costa was an intelligence officer on the ground during the invasion, and he takes us from the first mortar to the moment when Noriega surrendered to US forces. Boosting, swiping or the five finger discount - many countries around the world are seeing a rise in retail theft. From Japan to the UK, the USA to Germany, retailers are struggling to tackle shoplifting - but the factors fueling this trend are as varied as the people carrying out these crimes. Poverty, opportunism, thrill-seeking - and technology - are some of the factors experts say are to blame. But a more costly problem is the rise in organised crime, as gangs of thieves strategically target shops and steal to order, turn to online marketplaces to anonymously sell on stolen goods for big profits.Charmaine Cozier reveals how the justice system and surveillance technology are being used to combat this rising crime wave, as The Inquiry asks what's behind the rise in shoplifting?Contributors: Dr Nicole Bögelein, sociologist at the University of Cologne, Germany Assistant Chief Constable Alex Goss, national lead for retail crime at the UK National Police Chiefs Council Tony Sheppard.
