1 Corinthians 16:13-14, (NKJV) Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. 14 Let all that you do be done with love.  Dr. Bryan Hudson reflects on 1 Corinthians 16:13–14, urging listeners to live out the biblical call to “be brave, be strong,” and to do all things in love. He explains that the phrase “quit you like men” in the King James Version means to act courageously and maturely, not to quit. Dr. Hudson critiques modern cultural shifts that swing between idolizing and dismissing fatherhood, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a healthy and affirming view of fathers and men. Drawing from personal experience as caregiver to his 88-year-old father with dementia, he honors the enduring strength, love, and consistency of his father. He addresses a common misconception—that affirming the strength of fathers somehow diminishes women—calling it a false dichotomy. Instead, he encourages a culture that affirms bravery and strength in both men and women, especially as Father's Day approaches. The message highlights the biblical grammar of “be brave” and “be strong” as middle voice verbs, meaning we act and are acted upon—like David who encouraged himself in the Lord. Ultimately, Hudson calls on listeners to embrace courage, pass on values to future generations, and act in love.

What impact does the experience of living in what is quickly becoming a “police state” have on our physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual bodies? From the time she was a little girl, Kerie Hamilton lived a life that, sadly, many people in our world can identify with. Kerie was abused by a horrible monster, her stepfather. He tortured Kerie and her sister in ways that are unthinkable. The girls weren't allowed to tell anyone because "next time will be worse" if they did. A childhood dominated by always being in a "fight or flight" state of mind causes damage that stays with the person for decades, creating the right set of circumstances for others to abuse you.At the encouragement of one of her friends, after her divorce Kerie entered the online dating world. This was a world that she knew nothing about because Kerie was married when the online thing launched. The first guy she "matched" with started giving Kerie everything that she thought was lacking in her life. He showed her lots of love and attention. Then everything turned dark. He hit her, threatened her, and placed tracking devices on her car. He began showing up wherever Kerie was. She didn't think the nightmare would ever end. In our interview, Kerie shares her personal story of surviving childhood abuse. You will learn about how she finally got away from the predator who hurt her as an adult. And you will learn how Kerie embraced psychotherapy to work on herself, a journey that continues today. Kerie is an inspiration. She shows no bitterness or lingering resentment. And she shows remarkable kindness.

Pat Ridge: Seeking Validation Through Mischief | The Hopeaholics Podcast In this extended, unfiltered conversation, Patrick opens up about his multifaceted life—from his early days filming with a Hi8 camera and capturing memories with friends like Chet's wife Donna and her sister Vicki, to his wild first high on Vicodin during a high school snowboarding trip, and his rise in the music scene with Hyper Crush, touring with Lady Gaga, only to face ego-driven setbacks. He shares the founding of Graceland, his highly structured sober living facility, and the chaotic yet transparent journey of helping others like Nick Harris via live streaming, despite toxic online backlash. Patrick gets real about losing 20 years of sobriety, his relapse with CBD and Delta-9, and the strain it put on his marriage and role as a father to his one-and-a-half-year-old son, Wolf, while reflecting on the power of behavior over sobriety milestones, the influence of structured programs like Liberty House, and his current mission to create engaging, funny recovery videos. From mischievous beginnings and seeking validation to finding peace at the lake and admiring artists like Scribbler in Kensington, this episode is a rollercoaster of lessons, hope, and resilience—perfect for anyone navigating addiction, sobriety, or the messy beauty of life. #thehopeaholics  #redemption #recovery #AlcoholAddiction #AddictionRecovery #wedorecover  #SobrietyJourney #MyStory #RecoveryIsPossible #Hope #wedorecover Join our patreon to get access to an EXTRA EPISODE every week of ‘Off the Record', exclusive content, a thriving recovery community, and opportunities to be featured on the podcast. https://patreon.com/TheHopeaholics Follow the Hopeaholics on our Socials:https://www.instagram.com/thehopeaholics https://linktr.ee/thehopeaholicsBuy Merch: https://thehopeaholics.myshopify.comVisit our Treatment Centers: https://www.hopebythesea.comIf you or a loved one needs help, please call or text 949-615-8588.
