The UK and Ireland DX CW Contest starts at 1200UTC on Saturday the 26th of April and ends at 1200UTC on Sunday the 27th of April. Using CW on the 80 to 10m bands, where contests are permitted, the exchange is signal report and serial number. UK and Ireland stations also send their district code. The SP DX RTTY Contest starts at 1200UTC on Saturday the 26th of April and ends at 1200UTC on Sunday the 27th of April. Using RTTY on the 80 to 10m bands, where contests are permitted, the exchange is signal report and serial number. SP stations also send their province code. Now the radio propagation report, compiled by G0KYA, G3YLA and G4BAO on Thursday the 17th of April 2025 Last week was characterised by increased Kp index numbers and severe geomagnetic storms, peaking at G4. These drove down maximum usable frequencies and disrupted DX contacts, especially on the higher HF bands. The solar wind speed increased from 380 kilometres per second to around 500 kilometres per second on the 15th and an increase in plasma density was noted as well. Subsequently, the Kp index peaked at 7.67 on Wednesday the 16th, causing visible aurora alerts in the UK. This was caused by a pair of CMEs that left the Sun on Sunday the 13th of April. We had a total of 22 M-class solar flares over four days, so a CME event was inevitable. Unsettled geomagnetic conditions are a feature on the declining side of a solar cycle, so we could unfortunately be in for many more. According to Propquest, MUFs over a 3,000km path fell to below 18MHz for long periods on Wednesday the 16th, before climbing to around 21MHz at the end of the day. Meanwhile, the solar flux index fell from a high of 170 on Friday the 11th of April to a low of 148 on Wednesday the 16th of April. Next week, NOAA predicts that the SFI will start the week around 145 but could increase to 165 as the week progresses. Unsettled geomagnetic conditions are forecast for the 22nd to the 24th of April, with a predicted maximum Kp index of four. As always, keep an eye on solarham.com for daily updates, but more importantly, get on the bands, which are a much more effective guide to HF propagation! And now the VHF and up propagation news from G3YLA and G4BAO The current period of unsettled weather looks likely to continue into the coming week. This does not mean rain every day, but periods of rain or showers with some intervening drier spells. These drier interludes are not really dominated by high pressure, just gaps between the wetter periods, so it's unlikely to produce much significant Tropo. In terms of propagation, there may be some rain scatter, although it won't be very reliable. However, the prospects for meteor scatter are more promising with the peak of the Lyrids due on Tuesday the 22nd of April. It is worth checking up on procedures for meteor scatter working if you've not done it before and you may find a new part of the hobby to add to your operating schedule. The prospects for aurora continue to be raised by what seems like an almost daily supply of aurora alerts. Continue to monitor the Kp index for signs of elevated values, where Kp is above five, for radio activity. Early signs such as fluttery signals on the LF and HF bands may suggest it's worth looking on the VHF bands for auroral activity. As we move towards the new season it is good to get into the habit of looking for Sporadic-E. The Propquest website www.propquest.co.uk shows several useful components for analysing the Es prospects. If you look at the position of the jet streams shown on the Es blog tab, these can produce favourable conditions geographically to give a hint of the right direction in which to listen. The opening season typically favours 10m or 6m. EME path losses are now decreasing towards perigee on Sunday the 27th of April. Last Friday, the 18th of April, saw minimum Moon declination, so Moon windows will lengthen along with peak elevation. 144MHz sky noise starts this week very high but decreases to low as the week progresses. And that's all from the propagation team this week.
Delaney Cook (RPTA '23), Account Executive for Membership Services at the San Jose Sharks, talks with Dr. Brian Greenwood (Cal Poly Experience Industry Management) about her life and career to date.
(Conversation recorded on December 18th, 2024) With the increase in geopolitical conflicts, supply chain challenges, and unprecedented natural disasters, there is more need than ever for international humanitarian organizations that transcend political and national allegiances. How will such organizations grow and evolve to become a central component to humanity's adaptation to the coming Great Simplification? In this episode, Nate is joined by European Regional Director for The Red Cross, Birgitte Bischoff, to discuss her vision for the future of humanitarian work and the challenges and opportunities for more proactive and prepared planning. Together, they discuss the critical importance of individual volunteers and the integration of a systems thinking approach at The Red Cross. How will diplomacy and an emphasis on social responsibility help us navigate the growing international pressures from rising migration and resource constraints? In what ways can scenario planning improve our responses to the multitude of converging crises, as well as foster resilience? Most of all, in an unknown future of potentially existential challenges, what can we do to be prepared and respond with empathy and tolerance? About Birgitte Bischoff: Birgitte Bischoff Ebbesen is the International Federation of the Red Cross Regional Director for Europe, covering 53 Red Cross Red Crescent National Societies in Europe and Central Asia. The Regional Director is responsible for implementing the IFRC mandated functions: Strategic and Operational Coordination; Membership Services and Humanitarian Diplomacy in the region. USA stations also send their state and Canadian stations send their province. The British Amateur Radio Teledata Group RTTY Sprint runs from 1200UTC on Saturday the 25th until 1200UTC on Sunday the 26th of January. Using RTTY on the 80 to 10m bands, where contests are permitted, the exchange is your serial number. Now the radio propagation report, compiled by G0KYA, G3YLA and G4BAO on Thursday the 16th of January 2025. It looks like the lull in sunspot activity is coming to an end as the solar flux index rose to 174 on Thursday the 16th, after a week in the 150s and 160s. The Sun was fairly bare, but there are now signs of more sunspot activity rotating into view. There have been no X-class flares in the past seven days and only one M-class event. This has meant that the Kp index has been low, thanks to a lack of associated coronal mass ejections. There were four during one three-hour period on the 13th of January. As a result, HF conditions have not been too bad with daytime maximum useable frequencies, or MUFs for short, over 3,000km regularly exceeding 24 and even 28MHz at times. However, nighttime MUFs are still in the doldrums, often struggling to get above 5MHz over a 3,000km path. This will no doubt change as we head towards spring. DX on the bands recently has included S01WS in Western Sahara and UP7WWA in Kazakhstan, both on 28MHz CW. Closer to home we have had GB200LB celebrating the bicentenary of the invention of the Braille code and GB1GKA commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Portishead Radio receiving station, callsign GKA, at Highbridge, Somerset. Both of these stations were active on the 20, 17, 15 and 10m bands using CW. At the other end of the bands, Kev, VK6LW, has been heard on 1822kHz from Western Australia at his sunrise at 2112UTC, as has Robert, DU7ET, in the Philippines at 2200UTC. January is a great month for top-band contacts. Next week, NOAA predicts that the solar flux index will remain in the 160 to 175 range. Geomagnetic conditions are predicted to be good with a maximum Kp index of 3. Watch solarham.com for news of solar flares and coronal mass ejections, which could easily send the Kp index higher and the MUFs lower. And now the VHF and up propagation news from G3YLA and G4BAO. The current spell of high pressure has served us well with some good tropo paths around the edge of the high into Spain and Portugal and even beyond to Madeira. This has shown how effective long maritime ducts can be around the edge of areas of high pressure. On the 16th of January, the Atlantic was taking over the agenda and low pressure near Scotland was pushing a weakening front into north-western Britain as the high retreated east into Europe. The rest of the coming week has other lows bringing some rain or showers – especially to the north-west of the UK where it will become quite windy again. On Wednesday the 15th, weather models suggested a small high may return to the southern part of the country. We are in a rather unsettled weather period with some limited rain scatter potential for the GHz bands. Meteor scatter is also a bit thin with just a possibility of scatter via the Gamma Ursae Minorids, which peaked yesterday, the 18th. However, the number of meteors is at a very low rate and so is not a great option. Next, we move on to aurora and there continue to be examples of alerts suggesting minor events. Generally, though, spring is usually a better time, so there's still a while to wait. Saturday the 11th of January brought a welcome out-of-season Sporadic-E opening to Poland, and then the Balkans, on 50MHz lasting around three and a half hours from 1200UTC. Another good piece of news is the return of ionosonde data for the propquest.co.uk website after a few missing days. This is a timely opportunity to thank all those who maintain the professional data sets that allow us amateurs to see what the bands are doing. Moon declination is positive, going negative this Sunday. Moon windows will shorten, and peak Moon elevations fall. Path losses continue to increase as we approach apogee on Tuesday. 144MHz sky noise is low all week. And that's all from the propagation team.

Subscriptions: Scaled - A podcast about subscription businesses
In the latest episode, we speak with Robert Skrob, President and Owner of Membership Services, Inc. Robert is a subscription consultant and author of “Retention Point.” He has worked in subscriptions for over 27 years. Today Robert works behind the scenes with some of the biggest subscription brands in the world, focusing primarily on retention and helping them grow their business by losing fewer subscribers.Robert has found that retention issues aren't usually directly related to what a company delivers. Instead, they result from the brand's interaction and relationship with its members. As such, one of the main topics we discuss is the importance of strong engagement between brands and their subscribers. Many subscription businesses focus on acquisition, especially in their startup phase. But really, relationships are the critical driver of growth. There's often so much focus on what to deliver as a subscription service that most businesses don't even consider what type of relationship they're trying to build with their members. Next Sunday, the 5th of June, the UK Microwave group's Low Band Contest runs from 1000 to 1600 UTC. Using all modes on the 1.3, 2.3 and 3.4GHz bands, the exchange is signal report, serial number and locator. Now the radio propagation report, compiled by G0KYA, G3YLA, and G4BAO on Friday the 27th of May 2022. The solar flux index remained above 130 last week, being at 137 on Thursday as this report was prepared. It peaked at 165 on Sunday and reached a massive 180 on Wednesday the 18th. All this means that DX is workable on the upper HF bands with the 3D2RRR DXpedition on Rotuma Island near Fiji being chased from the UK. A little closer to home, V51WW in Namibia has also been putting in an appearance. Sporadic-E has also seen some short-skip signals from Europe on 10 metres, but we haven't seen many rock-crushingly strong signals as yet. The Sun remains very active with a CME associated with an M1.3 flare detected around region 3016 at 1824UTC on Wednesday, the 25th of May. The bulk of the plasma released was off the Sun-Earth line, although closer examination revealed a fainter Earth-directed component was evident and could sweep past Earth within 48-72 hours. If correct, this means the Kp index may rise this weekend. Coronal mass ejections remain a risk to HF propagation with a massive one on the far side of the Sun being observed on the 24th of May. We have been lucky last week with the Kp index generally in the ones and twos, that is, indicating settled geomagnetic conditions. But we think it is only a matter of time before we get hit with a “big one”, which could cause disruption and a general reduction in maximum usable frequencies. Next week, NOAA predicts that the SFI may decline into the 130s or even 120s. In fact, by the 5th of June, it thinks it will be at a low of 114 before rising again. Luckily, NOAA also predicts that the Kp index will remain low. This will help the ionosphere develop and should bring good conditions. However, we issue a caution that a single Earth-directed CME could put paid to low Kp indices and bring disruption. As always, keep an eye on solarham.com for updates. And now the VHF and up propagation news. The next period of weather is dominated by high pressure, although not in exactly the right place for good Tropo conditions everywhere. The main position of the high will tend to drift away to the northwest, which leaves room for a cool northerly pattern over most areas. This will probably confine the best Tropo conditions to the southwestern half of the UK. Elsewhere, the main weather type will include summer showers, possibly heavy, and likely to be of interest for rain scatter activity. Showers in a cold northerly airmass are usually strictly diurnal, so rain scatter prospects are for the afternoon and early evenings. Sporadic-E is showing good signs of coming to life and we are starting to hear limited openings for traditional CW/SSB QSOs and more widespread activity for digital modes. Some promising multi-hop paths have been seen to Asia in the mornings and the States and the Caribbean in the evenings. This week contains potentially the most exciting meteor shower of the year. The Tau Herculids shower, associated with Comet 73P and discovered in 1930, appears early during Monday night into Tuesday morning. In 1995 the comet was seen to suddenly brighten. This was discovered as being due to its nucleus starting to break up, creating a debris cloud. Comet 73P orbits the Sun at 5.4-year intervals. The Earth next crosses its orbit on the night of the 30th of May, into the morning of the 31st. It is due to peak in the UK at about 0500UTC on the 31st. Depending on how the nucleus started to eject debris, we may have a spectacular shower or something that is, at best, disappointing. As it will be light in Europe during the peak the visual display may not be very impressive, but the possibility for a radio reflection shower must be strong. This is one to look for, as a meteor scatter enthusiast. The new Moon occurs on the 31st of May and illumination will be low all the following week. A maximum declination of +28.1 degrees occurs on the 2nd, and this also coincides with the greatest distance from Earth to Moon, which in turn means the highest path loss. From experience, this should still be a good week for EME on the microwave bands despite the path loss. The VHF EME bands will suffer noise from the proximity of the Moon to the Sun for the first few days of the week. And that's all from the propagation team this week.

Now the radio propagation report, compiled by G0KYA, G3YLA, and G4BAO on Friday the 29th of April 2022. A week of high solar flux indices brought good openings on the higher bands. With the SFI consistently above 140 all week (at the time of writing) there have been reports of 10-metre openings well into the evening. As Ian Goodier on the 10m UK Net Facebook group reported: “Tonight on 10m you could mistake the band for 20m - East Malaysia in one direction, Mexico in the other.” There were also reports of Australian and New Zealand stations being worked on 10 metres, making this possibly one of the best weeks for 28MHz so far this solar cycle. But there were some spanners in the works too. There were a lot of C-class solar flares and two M-class events this week. Geomagnetic conditions have also been disturbed at times with Wednesday being the worst day with the Kp index hitting five twice on one day. Solarham.net said this was an unexpected geomagnetic storm as the Bz component of the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) tipped south. Another solar storm is forecast for the 29th of April, thanks to a large coronal hole on the Sun's equator. NOAA predicts more of the same next week with the SFI probably above 130. Geomagnetic conditions are predicted to be quiet next week, with an average Kp index of two. That is, at least until the 7th of May when it could rise to four. However, this presupposes that we don't have any coronal mass ejections to contend with. At this point in the solar cycle, solar flares and associated CMEs are commonplace and could push the Kp index higher roughly 48 hours after any Earth-directed CME. As always, keep an eye on Solarham.net for daily updates. And finally, we can now expect a big upturn in Sporadic-E openings on the higher HF bands. Keep an eye on the European 10m beacons for openings and find out more in our VHF news. And now the VHF and up propagation news. As we move into May, the chances of Sporadic-E begin to increase and it's worth keeping a close eye on the usual bands from 10m up to 6m, later in the month, the 2m band might surprise us. The Propquest.co.uk website contains a useful EPI map plot of regions where Sporadic-E may be more likely based upon weather triggers of atmospheric gravity waves that are part of the formation process. It also contains a daily blog with commentary to highlight significant jet streams and other regions of interest. The main focus on the weather charts starts with high pressure bringing fairly good Tropo conditions at the end of last week. Over this weekend a small low will drift into western areas and generally disrupt the Tropo propagation, producing a weaker pattern for next week with a hint of isolated showers. Later in the week, some models bring another low southeast from Iceland to Denmark introducing a cooler north-westerly flow with a few showers until a new high builds next weekend. The result of this will be possible Tropo windows later towards next weekend. There is a possibility of a little rain scatter in between, but generally limited. The Eta Aquariid meteor shower will peak between midnight and dawn on Friday the 6th of May 2022. Its ZHR is a very respectable 50. The shower favours the Southern Hemisphere and the radiant is low in the sky for the UK in the early pre-dawn hours. The predictable cycle of Moon-bounce propagation continues this week with positive Moon declination peaking on Thursday, now almost coinciding with apogee and therefore highest path losses. After mid-July, the trend of rising declination and rising path loss reverses, until, in mid-2026 maximum declination coincides with perigee and minimum path loss again. 144MHz sky noise is generally low this week, reaching 500K on Wednesday. And that's all from the propagation team this week.
Energetic cord cutting meditations may be a practice that you are familiar with if you've been on the spiritual path for some time now. Whether you are seasoned or completely new to meditations in general you are going to love this once you try it! Through this mediation, you will work with the intention of becoming aware of your energetic field all while bringing it in, clearing, repairing and working on healing anything that no longer serves you. When working with others here in the physical realm and in the spiritual realm you can form an energetic bond or attachment during a session. It's also present in our day to day lives with our family, friends, lovers, ex partners and even people you meet for a moment. It's been a minute since I've just had an episode where I shared some personal stuff and some really helpful tools that I use in my own in life for forging ahead, healing, and doing better in my personal life and my professional life. I never thought that I would be sharing what I'm sharing today but these podcasts are intuitively guided and I do spend some time in silence asking what I need to share next or who I need to bring on the podcast. A lot of what I'm discussing here are things that come up in great numbers in my readings. I meet so many people that have really worked courageously on their own personal healing and they're often trying to understand in our sessions why they can't seem to push past some of the fears and misaligned beliefs and efforts to find the peace and love that they're truly seeking. So, I've decided to share my story and what I've found through my own personal healing and hope that it helps at least one person listening. As you know, my way is not everybody's personal way. You know what's best for you and others know what way is best for themselves. I encourage you to always come from a place of authenticity and follow the journey that's best for you. So, keeping your inner peace at the core of every decision that you make and how you engage with others, and where your energy flows through, are some of the steps that I share in this episode. I feel like all of this will surely lead you in a great direction if you are struggling with loving yourself. And, with that I want to share the journey of how I got on the path of learning to love myself too. In this episode, you will hear: How my childhood experiences influenced my relationships and interactions with others How taking personal responsibility for my healing helped me to love myself more The steps that I took to work on myself and, therefore, accomplish my goals and live my purpose How abuse can be the first cause for stopping loving yourself and how to move back to a place of self-love after Recognizing the conditioning and patterns that can take hold in experiences and relationships after abuse (ex. codependency) Finding the courage to respond to, integrate, and shift those patterns How seeking support in any form is the best thing you can do How saying “no” to unhealthy situations and disengaging with toxic people gives you more space to feel love for yourself again If you don't want to do it for yourself, do it for your children (if you have them) Supporting Resources Messages from Heaven Group Events with Hope: https://www.hopestaylormedium.com/event Offerings with Alex, Korynn and Brandy: An all inclusive space for magical transformations personally curated by Hope, of powerful healers, teachers, and spiritual guides, to help support you in embodying your truth, shine your light and walk your path empowered. https://www.hopetaylormedium.com/practitioners Distance Reiki with Intuitive Guidance with Alex Human Design with Korynn Hellenistic Astrology or Tarot Card Readings with Brandy Readings with Hope Personal Readings Remote and various In Person Locations with Hope (Mechanicsburg, PA| Berlin,MD) https://www.hopetaylormedium.com/services Mentorship and Membership Services: https://hopetaylormedium.mykajabi.com/ Angel Card Reading Class 2/2 7pm Start Your Spiritual Business Available Now Journey with Spirit Available Now Membership Circle for Mediumship Practice Integrative Wellness Center Membership Follow me: www.hopetaylormedium.com www.facebook.com/hopetaylormedium www.instagram.com/findinghopepodcast https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvsTeGQiDr_JPzn_HPSKIiA Subscribe and Review Have you subscribed to our podcast? There's so much to explore when it comes to mediumship and past lives, soul contracts, soul families, and these clusters of different souls. Today, I wanted to explain the journey of the soul to provide some comfort to people who wish to understand what happens with the passing of a soul and what's going on there on the other side. When we're looking at the evolution of the soul, there's that God-spark within us – the soul that is literally running 95% of our subconscious minds, in the decisions that we're making, and the lessons that we need to learn. Through my experiences, my dreams, past life regressions, and tapping into those different past lives where I got to hang out with some beautiful souls that do Akashic Records, I got to understand so many modalities within the metaphysical world, along with the research I've done and the readings I've given. Through mediumship, I'm able to connect people with their loved ones. And when we're connecting people with their loved ones, we're giving evidence that the soul continues. Their soul is very much alive here in the physical world through this lifetime, and it's very much alive in the spiritual realm through their transition. We're in this day and age right now where so many people are healing ancestral traumas. And there's so much out there to support you on your journey. Every breath that we take and every day that we have is another opportunity to get it right so we can help each other to journey back home – with a gentle, open heart – and with love. In this episode, you will hear: Understanding the evolution of the soul The spiritual realm carries a hierarchy of vibration where some souls are vibrating at a different place than others. Soul contracts are people in our lives that we have agreed to meet up within this lifetime. Experiencing past life regression How we make these soul contracts from a place of love Taking this opportunity to heal something that you came here to do Supporting Resources: January 22nd Ocean City Maryland In-Person Messages from Heaven Group Event with Hope: https://www.hopestaylormedium.com/event Offerings with Alex, Korynn, and Brandy: An all-inclusive space for magical transformations personally curated by Hope, of powerful healers, teachers, and spiritual guides, to help support you in embodying your truth, shine your light and walk your path empowered. https://www.hopetaylormedium.com/practitioners Distance Reiki with Intuitive Guidance with Alex Human Design with Korynn Hellenistic Astrology or Tarot Card Readings with Brandy Readings with Hope Personal Readings Remote and various In-Person Locations with Hope (Mechanicsburg, PA| Berlin, MD) https://www.hopetaylormedium.com/services Mentorship and Membership Services: https://hopetaylormedium.mykajabi.com/ Angel Card Reading Class 2/2 7pm Start Your Spiritual Business Available Now Journey with Spirit Available Now Membership Circle for Mediumship Practice Integrative Wellness Center Membership Follow me: www.hopetaylormedium.com www.facebook.com/hopetaylormedium www.instagram.com/findinghopepodcast https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvsTeGQiDr_JPzn_HPSKIiA Subscribe and Review Have you subscribed to our podcast? In this episode, my friend and fellow medium, Mike Pozorski, joins us today to talk about how mediumship is an ongoing journey. If you take this seriously, you're always going to work on your mediumship development and with your mentor. Whether you're starting your journey as a medium or you've been on your journey for a while, you just continuously progress through personal development, spiritual unfoldment, and realizations. There are definitely some challenges but you just have to get through them, keep working, and you eventually get those payoffs in different ways. Mike and I talk about getting clarity on things you value in your life, literally looking at them every day, and integrating them into your system. And when you become aligned to what you value from the conscious level into your subconscious, you're actually living it. Then you become more aligned to your craft – and what better time to do this than starting with a fresh year this 2022! At the end of the day, the purpose of being in alignment is to bring more peace. We also tackle mediumship development and soul mediumship where you're bringing in not just the evidence, but also the essence of the soul. This helps not only us, as mediums, but also our loved ones in spirit as we calibrate them. One of the many challenges in mediumship is when we sometimes get some no's, and that's okay. Obviously, the majority of the reading should make sense, but there are so many different reasons you might be getting a “no” as you're getting information. There may also be times when you feel like you're not passionate about mediumship anymore, and that's okay too. Maybe it just means you have to take a pause because it could be all part of the plan. Ultimately, it's a lesson for us to learn to accept because this isn't a cookie-cutter type of experience. Just learn to trust, give what you're getting, and don't be afraid to get a “no.” Stay with this, and you can always do better, learn more, and grow. In this episode, you will hear: Getting clarity on what you want in your life and reviewing them every three months Closed doors or opportunities that weren't meant for you, maybe there's something better What is soul mediumship and why is it so important? How soulful mediumship helps with your messages as so many people are waking up Different reasons we could be getting some no's sometimes and how to handle it This is a long process that some people just quit. It takes practice because it's hard, but stick with it before you reevaluate. What happens when you think you've lost your passion for mediumship? How to handle difficult sitters and hold yourself to the vibration of spirit How to avoid getting drained after your readings Supporting Resources: Episode 32: Accepting Life's Calling as a Medium with Mike Pozorski Tickets to Mike and Hope's Event: https://psychicmediumhopetaylor.as.me/schedule.php?appointmentType=13790848 January 22nd Ocean City Maryland In-Person Messages from Heaven Group Event with Hope: https://www.hopetaylormedium.com/event Offerings with Hope, Alex, Korynn, and Brandy: An all-inclusive space for magical transformations personally curated by Hope, of powerful healers, teachers, and spiritual guides, to help support you in embodying your truth, shine your light and walk your path empowered. https://www.hopetaylormedium.com Distance Reiki with Intuitive Guidance with Alex Human Design with Korynn Hellenistic Astrology or Tarot Card Readings with Brandy Personal Readings Remote and various In-Person Locations with Hope (Mechanicsburg, PA| Berlin, MD) Mentorship and Membership Services: https://hopetaylormedium.mykajabi.com/ The Contemporary Medium 6 Month Mentorship Enrollment Open until January Start Your Spiritual Business Available Now Journey with Spirit Available Now Membership Circle for Mediumship Practice Integrative Wellness Center Membership Follow me: www.hopetaylormedium.com www.facebook.com/hopetaylormedium www.instagram.com/findinghopepodcast https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvsTeGQiDr_JPzn_HPSKIiA Subscribe and Review Have you subscribed to our podcast? Today, I wanted to talk to you about what it means to be a contemporary medium, and I will also share the answers to the questions that you all submitted on social media and through email. After a very wild 2020 and 2021 with mentorship growth, it has become such a critical piece of what my work is. And so, I always like to reflect on what I'm learning as I'm teaching, and what's the next best step with my offerings. What I truly wanted to do this year is to just take this to a completely deeper level with a contemporary mediumship course, where we will incorporate more soulful mediumship practices and more soul readings for this massive shift going on in our world today. When you're showing up for mediumship, the personal growth is just phenomenal. It is sometimes messy, sometimes hard, but it's also magical. The mediumship journey goes hand in hand with your own personal healing journey. And together, they are profound. You will become more aligned with your highest self and your highest purpose through this practice. You will become aware of areas in your life that need healing and you will be called to heal these areas. I'm going in the direction of being here with the understanding that we're all here to grow. At times, that includes the mediumship as well as other things that your soul needs to know from your loved ones in Spirit, in order for you to integrate the healing and move forward. Sometimes, you may also need to recognize certain things that you have held onto such as misaligned beliefs or traumas in your body that you would benefit from releasing There are things that need to fall away in your life so that other things can fall perfectly together. And this process can be messy. But once you make the shift to truly put yourself and your healing first in your life, everything changes. If you are the type of person that has already worked on your personal development and has curiosity in the metaphysical world, and if you're feeling the gentle tug at your heart for something more, then come join us. If you're seeking to find purpose and passion in your life by developing a closer connection to your loved ones, spirit guides, and angels, this is the course for you. Also, if you've been giving readings or messages to close friends and family, but are now ready to take your connection to the next level with the loving, supportive guidance of a mentor, I'd love to work with you as well. In this episode, you will hear : Who will benefit from the mentorship and things you will be learning and working on How soon we can get someone to come through How often to practice mediumship depending on your energy levels Starting your practice with meditation Working on being more present every day so it's easier for you to receive Developing the ability to connect with Spirit through practice Learning how to practice clairvoyance Understanding how you receive messages and practicing different ways of receiving Tips for overcoming readings for people you know Knowing your boundaries and what you're okay with Supporting Resources: The Contemporary Medium: https://hopetaylormedium.mykajabi.com/the-contemporary-medium January 22nd Ocean City Maryland In-Person Messages from Heaven Group Event with Hope: https://www.hopestaylormedium.com/event Offerings with Hope, Alex, Korynn, and Brandy: An all-inclusive space for magical transformations personally curated by Hope, of powerful healers, teachers, and spiritual guides, to help support you in embodying your truth, shine your light and walk your path empowered. https://www.hopetaylormedium.com/ Distance Reiki with Intuitive Guidance with Alex Human Design with Korynn Hellenistic Astrology or Tarot Card Readings with Brandy Personal Readings Remote and various In-Person Locations with Hope (Mechanicsburg, PA| Berlin, MD) Mentorship and Membership Services: https://hopetaylormedium.mykajabi.com/ The Contemporary Medium 6 Month Mentorship Enrollment Open until January Start Your Spiritual Business Available Now Journey with Spirit Available Now Membership Circle for Mediumship Practice Integrative Wellness Center Membership Follow me: www.hopetaylormedium.com www.facebook.com/hopetaylormedium www.instagram.com/findinghopepodcast https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvsTeGQiDr_JPzn_HPSKIiA Subscribe and Review Have you subscribed to our podcast? Many of us, if not all, are on this healing journey, and things can only move faster if you're willing to show up and do the work. That is difficult because it can be painful. But along with that pain comes transformation. And having someone like Korynn Elliott to hold you in your journey is truly helpful for you to gain clarity. Back in Episode 13, Korynn talked about her journey with Human Design and how it can show you what your superpower is. In today's episode, Korynn expounds on how Human Design is a transformative tool you could use to help you on your journey. Simply put, the Human Design chart is a map of your mind, body, and soul. It shows you how you're expressing yourself authentically and whether you're living what your life chart is saying. If you're out of alignment, that's when diseases could start to occur – because you're not in a healthy state when you're not being authentic. By knowing and understanding your human design, you get clarity around what you want out of your life, and you have this transformative tool to turn your pain into purpose. Your purpose doesn't come from a formula, nor does it come from just figuring it out. But it naturally arises when you're being true to yourself. If you're in the healing space, you need to get support with your own healing. You literally can't become a doctor unless you get support and training. With the tools and sessions that Korynn offers, along with all our other offerings that we have, you can gain the clarity that you need and become more comfortable in your authentic self. At the end of the day, it's just about knowing who you truly are. In this episode, you will hear : How things have changed since Korynn last appeared on the show Korynn's current offerings: Session Options The Medicine Within: exploring your wound and recognizing the medicine within you The Resilience Keys: identifying the things that overwhelm you, clearing the space, and activating your love frequency How to create your own soul family How some diseases could be connected to grief and how grief is a powerful transformative tool as well The energy alchemy of turning these pain points into your mission and purpose for the world and for yourself Why your purpose should come naturally and easily The difference between passive healing and active healing Understanding the doshas of Ayurveda to keep yourself grounded Supporting Resources: Episode 13: What Is Your Superpower and More With Human Design Expert Korynn Elliott: https://www.hopetaylormedium.com/podcast/fh013 Services and Free Meditation: https://www.hopetaylormedium.com/korynn-elliott Comprehensive Holistic Services: https://hopetaylormedium.mykajabi.com/integrated-wellness January 22nd Ocean City Maryland In-Person Messages from Heaven Group Event with Hope: https://www.hopestaylormedium.com/event Offerings with Hope, Alex, Korynn, and Brandy: An all-inclusive space for magical transformations personally curated by Hope, of powerful healers, teachers, and spiritual guides, to help support you in embodying your truth, shine your light and walk your path empowered. https://www.hopetaylormedium.com/ Distance Reiki with Intuitive Guidance with Alex Human Design with Korynn Hellenistic Astrology or Tarot Card Readings with Brandy Personal Readings Remote and various In-Person Locations with Hope (Mechanicsburg, PA| Berlin, MD) Mentorship and Membership Services: https://hopetaylormedium.mykajabi.com/ The Contemporary Medium 6 Month Mentorship Enrollment Open until January Start Your Spiritual Business Available Now Journey with Spirit Available Now Membership Circle for Mediumship Practice Integrative Wellness Center Membership Follow me: www.hopetaylormedium.com www.facebook.com/hopetaylormedium www.instagram.com/findinghopepodcast https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvsTeGQiDr_JPzn_HPSKIiA Subscribe and Review Have you subscribed to our podcast? According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 4 million Americans quit their jobs in July of 2021. Resignations peaked in April and have remained abnormally high for the last several months with a record-breaking 10.9 million open jobs at the end of July. With 2022 just right around the corner, there's no better time for you to take the first step if this is something that you've been considering – turning your passion into purpose. If you do it right, this may add value to your day and more spice and energy into your life because you're finding something you love and doing something you're passionate about. There's also an intangible payoff when you're able to do something that makes you feel good outside your regular nine to five job, particularly when freedom and flexibility come with it. Maybe you've been wanting to make a little extra money with your unique, authentic talents or gifts but don't know where to start, you might want to consider starting your side job or your side hustle. Or you might be someone who's been looking for a new adventure in your career, but you can't quite pinpoint what you want to do. And if you're not sure what to do exactly but you're ready to dive into a brand new business – something where you want to turn your passion into purpose, maybe now's the time to start thinking about it. Now, that's definitely not going to be easy. I've been there, but it was totally worth it. Some people experience anxiety, depression, overwhelm or pressure during the holidays due to unrealistic expectations, financial pressures, commitments, or whatever their reason is. In this episode, I'm sharing some relaxation tips for handling times such as the holidays, so you can feel the peace that you deserve to feel in your heart and also get you back to your center. In this episode, I'm joined by my Integrative Wellness Membership co-founders, Korynn Elliot and Alex Tolan, as we talk about the importance of integration and having support through it. Korynn is a medicine woman and spiritual ecologist with a lifetime of experience in over 13 years of practice apprenticeship and doctoral studies. She's a loving, compassionate guide, wise teacher, and master space holder. Korynn facilitates healing by bringing light to the medicine and the allies that support you and empower you in the process of healing yourself and your lineage. With her loving guidance, you'll un-manifest and un-become all that has been taught and told to you so you can finally return home to your truth – in your mind, body, and spirit. Alex is a Reiki master combined with her intuitive gifts and sensitivities. She brings these natural gifts that she has been working with her whole life. She has a very clear channel for healing, lifeforce, divine guidance, and unconditional love from Spirit to flow through and to you. Alex provides energetic spiritual and soul alignment to those called to work with her, helping embrace and embody the spiritual being that you are – with compassion and love. As lightworkers, we want to support others, but we also need to care for ourselves. Otherwise, it would be difficult for us to take care of others. You can't just hold it all together all the time. One of the reasons we got together is to hold space for people in this experience. You are here on purpose, no matter what you feel, no matter where you're at or whatever you're doing. And so, we want to help show you your true potential. Let us explore that with you! In this episode, you will hear : Korynn and Alex's moments of clarity Shifting your mentality and opening your eyes to gratitude The teacher always arrives when the student is ready. In today's episode, Staci Alexander joins me as we talk about how romantic relationships are actually just a mirror of our relationship with ourselves. The way we attract certain people and the reason those relationships don't tend to work out is not that you're a bad person or your partner is a bad person. What it really comes down to is your relationship with yourself, the level of awareness you're at, and the clarity of what you're experiencing. Being able to recognize those patterns of behaviors in a relationship that don't allow you to be your authentic self is part of the self-relationship work. And one of the first steps is knowing who you really are because only then can you move forward to become a better version of yourself, a person who is nowhere near the person you were many years ago when you attracted those situations. Nothing is going to be 100% perfect. But if you can find and integrate those pieces of you that have been scattered across your life experience, you will learn and grow from a place of love. You will then start to operate from a heart space without beating yourself up anymore because you now understand that when your past traumas show up in a relationship, it means there's work to be done – within you. And as you're developing a relationship of trust and surrender within yourself, you will in turn attract the partner that's right for you in the most authentic, beautiful way. In this episode, you will hear: Some signs of an unhealthy relationship or you're stuck in a pattern Understanding that love is freedom Why it's called a self-relationship coaching Controlling situations and behaviors when things should just be easy Things get trickier when you put people ahead of yourself Getting to know the five love languages Communicating from a place of love rather than insecurity Understanding our relationship habits, patterns, and beliefs How patterns in our childhood turn up in our relationship and trigger us Coming from a place of reactivity vs. a place of loving-kindness How an “unsuccessful” relationship is still successful in terms of knowing what you want and what you don't want How the Emotion Code works Trusting yourself in this journey and honoring your emotions Supporting Resources: Episode 42: The Emotion Code with Staci Alexander https://www.hopetaylormedium.com/podcast/fh042 Online and In-Person Messages from Heaven Group Events with Hope: https://www.hopestaylormedium.com/event Offerings with Hope, Alex, Korynn, and Brandy: An all-inclusive space for magical transformations personally curated by Hope, of powerful healers, teachers, and spiritual guides, to help support you in embodying your truth, shine your light and walk your path empowered. https://www.hopetaylormedium.com/ Distance Reiki with Intuitive Guidance with Alex Human Design with Korynn Hellenistic Astrology or Tarot Card Readings with Brandy Personal Readings Remote and various In Person Locations with Hope (Mechanicsburg, PA| Easton, PA| Berlin, MD| Salisbury, MD & Parsonsburg, MD) Mentorship and Membership Services: https://hopetaylormedium.mykajabi.com/ Start Your Spiritual Business Available Now Journey with Spirit Available Now Membership Circle for Mediumship Practice Integrative Wellness Center Doors Open 11/11 Follow me: www.hopetaylormedium.com www.facebook.com/hopetaylormedium www.instagram.com/findinghopepodcast https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvsTeGQiDr_JPzn_HPSKIiA Subscribe and Review Have you subscribed to our podcast? In this episode, I'm going to share with you this beautiful reading that the beautiful soul Carissa, did with me where she was able to connect with the love of her life. She shares her story in hopes that others may understand the journey and understand what beautiful souls like Berto have struggled with while they were here on earth. If you are someone who has struggled with addiction or has a family that may be in the middle of their journey right now, this may be a sensitive topic. I've struggled with this in my own life and with my own family and friends as well. Please don't hesitate to ask for help if you feel you need it and call 662435, which is the national hotline for substance use treatment and information. Every situation is unique and personal on its own. And so, this is a very unique situation to Carissa, as she celebrates Berto's beautiful life here on earth and the things that meant most to him. Hopefully, this episode will touch anybody listening to this and remind them that their loved ones are always with them. It's a sweet reminder that love doesn't stop when the physical body is no longer here. And finally, I wanted to share with you how this reading helped Carissa feel better, even though she knew all along that he has been there with her through this journey. Just to give you a short backstory, Berto died of a drug overdose, which was intentional. He just felt trapped that he had to find that final exit. Despite that, I saw how Berto is now in a happy place. And so, he wanted to assure Carissa that she wasn't the reason why it all happened and he's reaffirming the love that he always had for her. He is extremely grateful for all the time he spent with her because it was her who kept reminding him of his truth and light. The way I work is very similar to playing Pictionary or Charades. When I connect to the other side, I'm bringing you evidence of your loved one, which can be in the form of their favorite memories, physical description, names, and stuff like that. Most importantly, I love to hone into their essence and their personalities so you know that I'm with them and that they're with you right in that moment and share any loving messages they want to convey. In this episode, you will hear : How I'm getting evidence of stuff related to the personality of Carissa's loved one How he's showing me a little drawer with things of him in it while they were together He wants to assure Carissa that he is very much okay and he is happy He is with his grandpa's spirit too A happy dude with an underlying sadness A disconnection with his mom and how his mom enabled his addiction How Carissa never saw him for his mistakes but for his truth and light How Carissa still kept him on this beautiful path Supporting Resources: https://www.samhsa.gov/ - 1-800-662-HELP (4357) Offerings with Hope, Alex, Korynn, and Brandy: An all-inclusive space for magical transformations personally curated by Hope, of powerful healers, teachers, and spiritual guides, to help support you in embodying your truth, shine your light and walk your path empowered. https://www.hopetaylormedium.com/ Distance Reiki with Intuitive Guidance with Alex Human Design with Korynn Hellenistic Astrology or Tarot Card Readings with Brandy Personal Readings Remote and various In-Person Locations with Hope (Mechanicsburg, PA | Berlin, MD) Mentorship and Membership Services: https://hopetaylormedium.mykajabi.com/ Start Your Spiritual Business Available Now Journey with Spirit Available Now Membership Circle for Mediumship Practice Integrative Wellness Center Membership Follow me: www.hopetaylormedium.com www.facebook.com/hopetaylormedium www.instagram.com/findinghopepodcast https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvsTeGQiDr_JPzn_HPSKIiA Subscribe and Review Have you subscribed to our podcast? Just like babies, it can be difficult to communicate with dogs. They can't speak to us effectively, and so, it can be really challenging whenever they get agitated because we don't know how to respond to such behavior. Dogs definitely want that state of rest and relaxation just as badly as we want them to. But most of the time, they don't know how to get there without guidance. They're like, not just babies, but toddlers constantly trying to get into things and testing boundaries. In this episode, we talk about how you can provide holistic, relationship-based training for your dog with Alana. She is a relationship-based holistic dog trainer who's here to support your dog's mind, body, and spirit. I've been able to connect so many families with their loved ones in spirit and their dogs as well. And sometimes, there's an even more emotional reaction when people are connecting with their dog. Alana shares her own experience, especially in reading the energy of human babies and animals as the only way to talk to them effectively as they can't speak to us any other way. When she started, Alana wanted to focus on the relationship between the dog and the human and how this relationship affects the day-to-day life and the happiness of both the dog and human. Her overall goal is to bring out the best in each individual dog, bringing out their best version, seeing their full potential, and how they can shine in the world. Now, what that looks like is going to be different for every dog. When we look at our dogs and some of the things that are going on in our world today, sometimes, all that is a reflection of what we're going through. That's why doing the work on our inner selves would help our dogs as well. In this episode, you will hear: How her relationship-based holistic training started The goal is to get dogs in a calm, relaxed state Understanding our dog's behaviors Why dog parks are a scary place for dogs with behavior issues How you can still teach old dogs new tricks Explaining the pattern behavior your dog could have learned over time Why three weeks is the sweet spot for training time The owners as the glue that holds it all together What to do when your dog starts to regress Observing etiquette and respecting boundaries (and a dog's space, too!) In this episode, Brandy Burrow joins me to talk about astrology, tarot reading, palm reading, and Hellenistic Astrology. Brandy is part of our Integrated Wellness Services, a space designed for soul awakening, deep healing, and magical transformations to embody your truth, shine your light and walk your path empowered. It's a membership program where you have the power to choose your path and your level of support. If you want to be part of a safe and inspiring community where you can grow, heal, and connect alongside other beautiful souls, this membership is for you. Now, people think that if they take a course in mediumship, then they have to be a professional medium. But it's not for everyone. Not everybody wants to be a professional medium, and not everybody that takes the course should. Whichever path you wish to take, there is always a way to do it with authenticity and integrity. Learn how to maximize your unique gifts because there are people who are going to be drawn to you for the specific healing they need. Be sure to tune in to today's episode to have a glimpse of how Brandy does her readings. There are different ways that people are reading because everybody's coming from their authentic selves. Everybody gets information differently and it's great to learn from each other just seeing how people do it differently. Now, a person who resonates with you a little bit more than other readers has nothing to do with how many years you've been doing this because, ultimately, Spirit always leads people to the right person. RSGB Club Insurance and Beacon and Repeater Insurance has now been renewed for the year to April 2022. Club Insurance Certificates can be downloaded from the RSGB website; please use your Membership Services login to obtain a copy of your Certificate. Please allow a couple of days after renewal for your certificate to be dispatched. The IARU Region 1 is running a strategic workshop on the future of amateur radio. Each of the national societies in the region has been asked to contribute information about amateur radio in their country. In preparation, the RSGB is conducting a short survey of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that apply to amateur radio in the UK. The Society would like to hear the views of all UK radio amateurs so please take a few minutes to fill in the survey at www.rsgb.org/survey. The deadline for responses is the 23rd of May. There are three new ways to listen to GB2RS news. John, G4TRN and Sean, G7NJX have been providing a regular UHF service via GB3ZB in Bristol for some time. Now, this repeater is interlinked to GB3FI in Cheddar to give extended coverage on both sides of the Mendips. The broadcast is at 9.30 am. Another new transmission comes from Richard, G0NAD near Clacton-on-Sea in Essex, serving the Tendring area on 433.525MHz FM at 11 am. GB2RS can now also be heard via the QO-100 amateur radio satellite. The transmission is provided by Keith, GU6EFB at 0800UTC, using upper sideband on 10489.900MHz, which is in the mixed-mode section of the narrowband transponder. QO-100 is a geostationary satellite with a footprint that covers Europe, Africa and India, so this news bulletin is a specially adapted international version. The RSGB would like to thank AMSAT-DL for their kind cooperation in making this broadcast possible. If you don’t have any 10GHz equipment but would still like to monitor the broadcast, there is a dedicated webSDR at batc.org.uk that requires no radio equipment. Just click on the ‘online’ tab. SOS Radio Week is an annual event that sees many amateur radio stations get on the air throughout the month of May. The aim is to raise awareness of the voluntary work of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and National Coastwatch Institution. The event coincides with the RNLI’s own Mayday fundraising month. For further details of the event, visit sosradioweek.org.uk. Earlier this month Mike, G4GUG was interviewed on the University of the Third Age, or U3A, podcast. Mike is the amateur radio subject adviser at U3A. He shared his personal experience of enjoying amateur radio throughout his life and also highlighted the influx of new licensees over the last year. You can hear the podcast on the U3A YouTube channel; search for Episode 7. Mike’s interview starts about nine-and-a-half minutes into the podcast. Sixteen awards were given at this year’s AGM. This included the prestigious RSGB award of Life Vice President, which was bestowed on Dave Wilson, M0OBW. This rarely-given award was for his tireless devotion over many years to all aspects of amateur radio and the Society. Congratulations to everyone who received an award. Last week was characterised by relatively low sunspot numbers but reasonably settled geomagnetic conditions. The solar flux index never rose above 80 all week, despite a large cluster of sunspots. This cluster, composed of regions 2818, 2820 and 2821, were responsible for some C-class solar flare activity, but never really grew into anything. By the time you read or hear this, they will have rotated out of view. The Kp index started the week at five, thanks to the effects of a high-speed solar wind stream from a coronal mass ejection. This was relatively short-lived and the rest of the week saw more settled conditions with a maximum Kp index of three and often zero. HF conditions have been variable. There has been DX workable, as Norfolk ARC showed during last Saturday’s International Marconi Day. GB0CMS made more than 900 contacts on HF, including contacting the Dominican Republic, the Philippines, Ecuador, Panama, the Falkland Islands, Australia and Indonesia. SSB activity on 10 metres has been reported as being relatively quiet, with the odd Sporadic-E contact into Europe. FT8 has thrown up a few contacts into South America during the late afternoon and early evening. Next week, NOAA predicts the SFI may dip again, perhaps down to 72-73. This weekend may see unsettled geomagnetic conditions with the potential for the Kp index to rise to four or five due to coronal hole activity. However, once this clears we may expect a more settled Kp of two as the week progresses. Propquest shows that, according to the Chilton digisonde data, daytime MUFs over a 3,000km path are generally reaching the 18MHz band and occasionally 21MHz. And now the VHF and up propagation news. Next week it will probably be very difficult to time the weather changes correctly. It will be a mix of classic April showers – in May! – and some longer periods of rain, but also weak ridges of high pressure or, more accurately, ‘cols’, between highs and lows. These are very rarely useful for Tropo but may facilitate temporary lifts in the early mornings. The trend towards a showery weather pattern is likely to be good news for the rain scatter operators on the GHz bands. With the arrival of May, expectations for Sporadic-E grow stronger. The daily blogs will begin this month on the Propquest.co.uk website where a commentary about the location of jet streams and potential for Sporadic-E will be discussed along with a chance to evaluate the new Sporadic-E Probability Index, or EPI, shown on the same website. Beams certainly help with weak Sporadic-E or multi-hop paths, but a strong opening will be found with even a colinear, so it’s not just for super-stations. If you’ve never worked Sporadic-E before, doing just one thing, checking 10m and 6m at teatime, will guarantee you the best chance of breaking your duck. Last week we had a Supermoon. No reason to get excited, this is simply a full Moon occurring within 10% of perigee. Perigee was last Tuesday so EME path losses will slowly rise all week. Moon declination is negative until Saturday so we’ll see lengthening Moon visibility windows and peak Moon elevations as the week goes on. Two meteor showers to look out for this week. The Eta-Aquarids has a broad peak around the 6th of May with a good Zenithal Hourly Rate or ZHR of 50, then the much smaller Eta Lyrids on the 8th. And that’s all from the propagation team this week.

Oasis Institute is the largest intergenerational K-3 mentoring program in the nation with 83 school districts and 4000 tutors. The average volunteer is a 72-year-old woman - many are former teachers, moms, grandmas, or others who have worked with children. They volunteer for an hour a week, and with an average tenure of 17 years. All tutoring took place in person before COVID-19 required a pivot. With shelter-in-place, they had to reinvent their whole program. Elizabeth worked to understand what volunteers wanted to do, what the school’s policies were, and what might work moving forward. She invited volunteers to come to the table with solutions with how they might feel comfortable continuing to mentor children through distance learning. By prioritizing safely and inclusion Elizabeth was able to pivot her volunteer engagement strategy to work for both the students and the tutors. She included zoom training for the volunteers that wanted to participate and created a communication plan to keep in touch with the volunteers that didn’t feel comfortable moving to an online platform. Over the summer, they launched a pilot program with several local libraries and were able to evaluate what worked and where they would continue to innovate to launch their program for the school year. So far around 300 UK and non-UK participants have taken part, and for some it has been their first attempt at an HF contest. One participant told us that it was their first ever attempt at CW in 36 years. Come and join in the fun. Now the radio propagation report, compiled by G0KYA, G3YLA and G4BAO on Friday the 1st of May. Sunspots are like buses – you wait all month and two turn up at once! Even more interesting is that the sunspot groups are from two different cycles. The first group, AR2760, was from the outgoing Solar Cycle 24 and the second sunspot, AR2762, is from the new Solar Cycle 25. We know this due to their magnetic signatures and the relative location of the spots on the Sun’s surface. AR2762 was a high-latitude spot, while AR2760 was almost on the solar equator. In any event, both spots were very minor and had little or no effect on the solar flux index, which hovered around 69-71. Geomagnetic conditions were more settled, with the Kp index remaining at zero or one towards the end of the week. The highlight for the week was the 2020 Summer Sporadic-E season on 10m, which is growing in strength. Stations in Gibraltar, Spain, Romania, Finland, Norway and others were all workable on 10m FT8 on Thursday morning, although it would have been nice to see a little more activity on CW and SSB, but more on that later. We expect solar activity to remain at very low levels in the short term, with the Solar Flux Index remaining at around 68-70. Geomagnetic conditions are likely to remain settled, other than this weekend when SWPC predicts the impact of particles from a solar coronal hole. NOAA disagrees and predicts that geomagnetic field activity is expected to reach active levels on Tuesday 5th May in response to a high-speed solar wind stream. It will be interesting to see who is correct. And now the VHF and up propagation news A small high crosses the country today and pauses over the North Sea on Monday, giving a Tropo option for most areas. This is soon followed by a further spell of unsettled weather with a good potential for rain scatter in the south over the middle of the week. Other weather models retain the high pressure, and even the unsettled model relents and brings another high to the northwest of Scotland, which will start to build across the country from the west to bring a fine, Tropo end to the week. As for Sporadic-E prospects, the next week does have some useful jet streams in good positions for paths from the UK. Early in the season paths can be fleeting, but keep a watch on 10m activity and then follow the opening higher in frequency as it develops on 6m, 4m and eventually 2m if we are very lucky. There is a big difference between FT8 and CW/SSB performance, but follow the many wonderful clusters and logging sites to see where the openings are. Try the daily Sporadic-E blog on www.propquest.co.uk to get an idea of the significant jet streams. It will have changes to the charts and a trial of the Sporadic-E Probability Index, or EPI. There is plenty to investigate in the 2020 Sporadic-E season. There are two meteor showers upcoming this week. The larger eta-Aquarids is on Tuesday and the eta-Lyrids occur on Thursday. Moon declination goes negative on Tuesday followed by perigee on Wednesday with lowest EME path losses. 144 MHz sky noise is very high today and for the early part of next week. And that’s all from the propagation team this week.
We’re using the podcast here to occasionally introduce you to new faces and voices in the SDI Family – we heard from Desiree Casil a couple of weeks ago who is taking over for Membership Services. This week, we get to meet Ann Lancaster, who has come on as SDI’s Production Assistant, helping us with graphic and layout design, helping me in the SDI Laboratories where we are cooking up many new and exciting offerings for spiritual companions. Ann tells us about her previous work at Microsoft, her experience so far working with SDI, her own spiritual awakening, being a Reiki practitioner, being a mega-fan of a Danish band called Mew, and how she unwinds by playing odd video games. Learn more about the amazing Ann Lancaster through her various projects: http://www.annlancaster.com/ https://www.whitelodgeawakening.com/ http://www.mewx.info/
SDI is a member based organization, with over 6000 members worldwide. We have a Membership Services Team that is there to assist our members with anything from renewing a membership to taking a payment to registering for a conference or workshop, or anything else related to your SDI Membership. Desiree Casil is taking over as our new Membership Services Coordinator, and so in this episode of Encounters I had a chat with her about how her training over zoom is going, we do a riveting roleplay in which I pretend to call in as a member with some seriously hardball questions to see how Desiree handles them. In Part 2 we chat about her weekend, some big spiritual questions Desiree is chewing on, and learn a bit about her dog Ava, whose picture is posted in these notes. You can become a member too, by calling our Office, at 1-425-455-1565, or by going to our online store, sdistore.org. --- I just want to update you on a couple of webinar offerings we have in the next month. First of all, the Remote Spiritual Comapnionship webinar I mentioned in the roleplay is really happening. In fact it is Thursday April 22nd, with Kristen Hobby and Ravi Verma and will offer practical advice and wisdom on how to do spiritual companionship over web conference, phone, email, how to handle scheduling and payment, and some approaches to the kinds of things people are wrestling with during the global pandemic. The 2nd Webinar I want to mention, this is really exciting, is a four part series with Mirabai Starr, titled Mystic Wisdom in an Uncertain Time, which begins May 8th. Mirabai will be sharing on insights on spiritual companionship through the contexts of St. Teresa of Avila, Ram Dass, Grief and Loss, and The Divine Feminine. All our webinar offerings can be watched live, and are also recorded so you can watch them at your convenience. You can register for either or both of these webinars by calling our Office at 1-425-455-1565, or by going to our online store, sdistore.org.

She’s a proud BAME woman who is passionate about supporting her staff and students to access opportunities for development and promotion. We learn what Students' Unions do and the incredible support they give to students across the UK as a powerful force. In this podcast we talk about her experience as an Asian woman and the barriers she’s faced in her career – from pay inequality to not being asked to key meetings and seeing white, male counterparts promoted over her. We hear how the CEO and senior leadership at Greenwich support BAME staff through development opportunities and open, collaborative conversations but how this isn’t the case at every SU. With our other guest Bill Yuksel (Peridot Business Manager), a former Sabbatical Officer and current Students’ Union Trustee, we discuss how the student movement should be supporting better diversity within the SU workforce. In the podcast we also talk about the barriers to creating an inclusive and diverse workforce and what needs to change to support progress. I first met Anton von Rueden about 4 years ago at the first offsite retreat I facilitated for the TechStyle Fashion Group. The company was only a few years old and Anton was a relatively new player on the scene and already making an impact. He’s a pretty large human and reminded me right away of Bruce Springsteen’s song “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out” where Bruce memorializes Clarence Clemons joining the E Street Band. “When the change was made uptown And the Big Man joined the band” Great song, check it out. Anton had a wealth of global experience and made an immediate positive impact on the Membership Services part of the business. Now serving as Chief Operating Officer of the company, Anton has a wonderful way of challenging people to up their game, at whatever level of leadership they may be. I have been no exception to that and we have formed a fun and productive partnership over these years. Anton was excited as I was for us to make the time to talk about the positive influence conscious leadership can have on an organization. He’s a fun guy in person and I think you’ll find that it comes through on the podcast as well. Listen up!

**Listen in as Positive Coaching Alliance goes 1-on-1 in interviews with top pro and college players, coaches, executives and other major sports figures who provide tips, tools, information and inspiration for youth and high school sports coaches, parents and student-athletes.** This 1-on-1 interview features Annette Lynch ([@SpecialOlympics](https://twitter.com/SpecialOlympics)), member of the PCA National Advisory Board and Senior Manager of Coaching Excellence & Sport Education for the Special Olympics North America (SONA). Lynch has previously served as a player on the USA Women’s Basketball Team, a basketball director for Special Olympics, Inc., Vice President of Special Olympics Maryland, Director of Education and Membership Services for the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA), and a coach for nearly every level of sport. Tina Syer ([@tinasyer4](https://twitter.com/tinasyer4)), Former PCA President, gets Lynch's take on women’s involvement in sports and the benefits of unified play with people who have intellectual/psychical disabilities. Lynch also discusses the evolution of women in sport since she was an athlete. This interview is filled with insights on player development, the fear of disability, unified sports, player behavior, and more. Lynch talks at length about the Special Olympics and how sports can affect athletes with disabilities. The key thing for anyone to understand is that there are more similarities than differences between these athletes and others, but they learn differently. They receive the same physical, emotional, and social benefits as anyone else involved in sport. Most importantly, having unified sports can help these athletes transition to their communities because, “There are rules in sport [and] there are rules in life.” Like what you hear?
