What if the real question isn't "Which peptide should I take?" but "Do I need one at all?"Peptides like Ozempic (GLP-1 medications), BPC-157, MOTS-c, CJC-1295, and other bioactive peptides have exploded in popularity for weight loss, fat burning, muscle recovery, longevity, metabolism, and anti-aging. But are they truly the best solution—or could they be masking the underlying problem? In this episode of Accelerated Health with Sara Banta, I break down the science behind today's most talked-about peptides, who may actually benefit from them, their potential risks and side effects, and why supporting your body's natural healing pathways may be just as important. If you're considering peptides—or you're simply curious whether these trending treatments are worth the hype—this is an episode you won't want to miss.Supplements Featured In This Episode:• Acceleradine® Iodine https://www.acceleratedhealthproducts.com/products/acceleradine-iodine-supplement • Accelerated Fast® https://www.acceleratedhealthproducts.com/products/accelerated-fast-supplement • Accelerated Ancient Salt® https://www.acceleratedhealthproducts.com/products/accelerated-ancient-salt-4-oz• Accelerated Liver Care® https://www.acceleratedhealthproducts.com/products/accelerated-liver-care• Accelerated Methylene Blue® https://www.acceleratedhealthproducts.com/products/accelerated-methylene-blue-supplementNot sure what food to eat and avoid? Learn how stem cells may influence inflammation, immune function, tissue regeneration, brain health, and aging.Stem cell therapy is one of the most talked-about areas of regenerative medicine, but not all stem cells or treatments are the same. In this episode, Dr. Joy Kong explains how stem cells work, why their source matters, and what patients should investigate before choosing a treatment or clinic. We explore the differences between bone marrow, fat-derived, and umbilical cord-derived stem cells, along with IV infusions, local injections, PRP, and exosomes. Dr. Kong also discusses emerging research and clinical observations involving chronic inflammation, neurological health, joint pain, skin, hair loss, aging, and cancer. Many of the treatments and potential applications discussed remain experimental and are not established treatments for the conditions mentioned. What if the goal isn't to live longer—but to live better? In a world obsessed with anti-aging hacks, longevity supplements, biohacking, and looking younger, Dr. Kerry Burnight is offering a radically different perspective. A gerontologist, educator, and author of the New York Times bestselling book JoySpan: The Art and Science of Thriving in Life's Second Half, Dr. Kerry challenges the fear-based messaging that dominates the aging and wellness industries and invites us to focus on something much more meaningful: joy. In this conversation, Nicole and Dr. Kerry unpack what actually matters when it comes to healthy aging, longevity, purpose, confidence, connection, and fulfillment. They explore why society's obsession with youth may be distracting us from the very things that create a life worth living—and why growing older might be one of the greatest gifts we receive. In This Episode, We Discuss: Why the anti-aging industry profits from fear—and how to stop buying into it The difference between lifespan, healthspan, and Dr. Kerry's concept of "joyspan" What research says actually improves as we get older How purpose, meaning, friendship, and connection impact longevity Why confidence often increases with age The role of mindset in healthy aging and overall wellbeing How to overcome internalized ageism and embrace every stage of life Why joy isn't something you find—it's something you cultivate Practical ways to focus less on optimization and more on actually enjoying life Because at the end of the day, a meaningful life isn't built through endless optimization—it's built through the moments, relationships, and experiences that make us glad we're here. What if the same molecule that earned three scientists a Nobel Prize could also protect your healthy cells while cancer treatment targets the sick ones?In this episode of Integrative Cancer Solutions, Dr. K sits down with Chris Burres, carbon nanomaterial engineer and co-founder of MyVitalC, to unpack the science behind ESS60, a purified form of the Nobel Prize winning C60 molecule. Chris walks through the peer reviewed research showing ESS60 extended lifespan in animal studies by 90 percent with zero tumor growth, and explains the Boss Theory, the idea that this molecule buffers oxidative stress inside the mitochondria, the same stress that drives inflammation, fatigue and cellular breakdown. The conversation covers what a selective antioxidant does differently during chemotherapy, why HSCRP, a key inflammation marker, matters for cancer patients, and the four clinical trials now underway, including one focused specifically on inflammation. If you are looking for research backed ways to support your mitochondria and lower oxidative stress during treatment or recovery, this episode lays out the science in plain language.Key Takeaways:0:00 Introduction2:06 How a Nobel Prize winning molecule became a daily supplement8:07 Wistar rats lived 90% longer with zero tumors9:52 ESS60 increases cancer cell death while protecting healthy cells19:44 The Boss Theory: how ESS60 buffers oxidative stress in the mitochondria28:43 Four clinical trials underway, from headaches to HSCRP32:45 Safety, drug interactions and real world dosage35:53 One drop, 400 times more molecules than cells in your bodySchedule a Free 15-Min Cancer/Lyme Consultation at The Karlfeldt Center: 208-338-8902Resources:MyVitalC (Dr. K's audience link, biohacking guide + discount) - https://www.myvitalc.com/drkLive Longer and Better by Chris Burres - https://a.co/d/05Vn4h3HOperation Underground Railroad - https://www.ourrescue.org Medical Disclaimer: This content is for educational purposes only and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or replace professional medical advice. Today we will be covering the hormone DHEA. What it is and what it does, and how to use it correctly.DHEA is an anti-aging supplement. It does give an advantage. It is shown to play a role in improving libido, building muscle, and reducing risks of cardiovascular disease and cancer. To help us to share the health benefits of DHEA we have Hugh Woodward, He is the President of Health2Go, Inc the makers of Twist 25 DHEA cream.Hugh is a subject matter expert on DHEA dedicating the past 20+ years of his life to studying medical research about it, and starting a company to research, and develop the safest most effective DHEA supplement (cream) that can be made and distributed.DHEA is short for dehydroepiandrosterone, it is a naturally occurring prohormone we all make and have. DHEA is the most abundant naturally occurring prohormone in the human body.-A foundation or base building block for other smaller more specific hormones like testosterone and estrogens and about 50 other hormones that are smaller, more specific carbon chain molecules in the cascade of metabolism in the human body.-Hormones drive our energy, mood, muscle tone, fat, quality of sleep, mental sharpness, immune system, sex drive, and more.As a result of aging, and a gradual lowering of natural DHEA production after age 25, many of our natural body processes begin to slow down. As a result, most people start to have less energy and gain weight, have lower sex drive, and tend to start losing their mental sharpness and drive, have trouble sleeping and may start to get sick more often.Learn more at Twist25.com or call Health2Go with questions 1 (888)489-4782

P.M. Edition for July 24. Today an FDA committee voted to increase access to six of seven peptides. Those are substances that haven't undergone regulatory approval, but they're promoted on social media and promise physical transformations like better skin. We hear from WSJ health and wellness reporter Alex Janin about what the vote means and whether it paves the way for a peptide gold rush. Plus, new tariffs went into effect today intended to combat forced labor, and President Trump also threatened new tariffs on the European Union. Journal trade and economic policy reporter Gavin Bade discusses the future of President Trump's tariff agenda. And measles cases in the U.S. this year have already surpassed last year's number, reaching a three-decade high. Alex Ossola hosts. And for more on peptides, listen to our What's News Sunday episode. She describes the realization that turned her first year in sales from six months of no income into six figures, her approach to leading over 1,500 agents through servant leadership, and her biohacking routine, which includes weekly NAD injections for mental clarity, Sermorelin paired with resistance training, glutathione, microneedling, and cryotherapy. She also discusses treating anxiety as a functional trait rather than a limitation, and her view that actively working against aging is a legitimate choice, not vanity. She and Dr. Joy Kong, the Stem Cell Queen, also get into diversifying a male-dominated industry and staying steady when gossip and criticism show up.It's a conversation about resilience, biology, and refusing to accept defaults, in your bank account, your industry, or your own aging.✨ Check out my stem cell skincare line, CharaOmni: https://www.charaomni.com/Mara talks about:00:44 Self-made millionaire and BILF Pod host01:12 From $92K a year to $1B in sales04:02 Losing everything in the 2008 crash08:28 The self-accountability moment that changed everything11:12 Building a team, banned from LA Fitness19:42 Why work-life balance is a myth26:12 Anxiety as a lifelong superpower30:26 Her non-negotiable 4:30am gym routine32:36 Why she calls herself a biohacker34:10 Peptides, microneedling, and cold therapy35:20 NAD, glutathione, and semaglutide injections40:36 Legacy, stagnation, and refusing to slow downAdditional Resources✨ Follow Mara Dorne on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/maradorne/ ✨ Listen to BILF Pod on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4Hly3iu1MXsNguaNgW9MuK ✨ Subscribe to BILF Pod on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@bilfpod ✨ Follow Mara Dorne on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/maradorne/ Visit My Clinic: Chara Health
Today we're discussing what in my opinion, is one of the most talked about peptides in regenerative skincare: GHK-Cu, also known as the copper peptide. Interest in GHK-Cu has grown because it sits at the intersection of skincare, wound healing, and cellular repair. And while many products make bold claims, it's important to separate realistic expectations from marketing. In today's episode, we'll discuss what GHK-Cu is, why copper is important for healthy skin, how aging affects the skin, what current research suggests about GHK-Cu, and what kinds of results you can realistically expect. How Shakespeare Helps You Age Better: The Missing Half of IntelligenceIn this Health Courage Collective Podcast episode 264, host Christina Hackett argues that aging “abnormally well” requires more than logic, data, and risk stratification: it requires story-based “primal intelligence,” a set of human abilities AI cannot replicate. Drawing on Angus Fletcher's book Primal Intelligence and examples of influential figures inspired by Shakespeare (including Steve Jobs, Maya Angelou, Abraham Lincoln, Darwin, and Tesla), she explains that modern education trains people to think like computers, which fails when life demands decisions with little or no data. Fletcher's four elements of primal intelligence are outlined: intuition (spotting exceptions and anomalies), imagination (leaping into uncertain futures), smart emotion (using feelings as feedback on your life narrative), and common sense (knowing when you do not know and detecting unknown unknowns). Hackett connects these skills to adapting plans amid chaos and creating healthier outcomes as we age.00:00 Big Questions00:33 Podcast Welcome01:21 Logic Versus Wisdom02:55 Shakespeare Changed Minds07:19 Clausewitz And Surprise09:28 Primal Intelligence Explained10:36 Why Story Beats AI14:50 Four Primal Powers15:31 Intuition Spotting Anomalies16:27 Imagination For Uncertainty17:25 Smart Emotion Dashboard18:23 Common Sense Unknown Unknowns19:59 Aging Better With Story21:23 Planning For Chaos24:12 Practical Takeaways And Close26:49 Outro And DisclaimerAre you ready to give your cells their best chance to not have to stop living before they die by allowing them access to physiologic levels of hormones, but aren't sure how to even get started? What if aging is not simply something that happens to us, but a biological process we can learn to recognize, understand, and navigate with greater agency? In this episode of Bathroom Diaries, I am reposting my conversation with Larry Olsen on The Brain Vault Podcast. We explored a subject very close to my heart: the difference between aging helplessly and aging with agency. After more than 25 years in medicine—including decades spent caring for older adults—I have seen what happens when the early signals of decline are ignored until they become disease. Many of the problems that appear in our seventies and eighties do not begin in old age. They begin much earlier, often during the hormonal and metabolic transitions of middle age. I call these transitions "the pauses." For women, this may include perimenopause and menopause. For men, it may include the less frequently discussed transition of andropause. These shifts can affect energy, metabolism, mood, cognition, sleep, muscle, skin, sexual health, and the body's overall internal harmony. Larry and I discuss what it means to recognize these changes before they become irreversible—and why protecting your healthspan is just as important as extending your lifespan. In this conversation, we explore: • The difference between aging with agency and aging helplessly • Why the problems of later life often begin during middle age • Perimenopause, menopause, and andropause as biological "pauses" • Why men are rarely taught to recognize their own hormonal transition • The relationship between hormones, energy, mood, metabolism, and cognition • Why longevity must include healthspan, vitality, and quality of life • The difference between sickness management and proactive wellness care • The importance of individualized guidance when considering HRT or testosterone • Why mindset and the stories we tell ourselves can influence how we experience aging • The embryological relationship between the skin and the brain • Why I believe our skin and brain remain connected throughout life • The importance of finding practitioners who understand both disease and prevention A longer life is not enough if the body can no longer support the consciousness, purpose, wisdom, and energy we have spent a lifetime developing. The goal is not merely to add years to life. It is to protect the health, function, beauty, energy, and awareness required to remain fully present inside those years. ABOUT DR. Today, I want to talk about one of the most common misconceptions surrounding retatrutide and the recent Phase 3 results released by Eli Lilly. If you've seen the headlines, you've probably read that participants lost over 70 pounds or nearly 30% of their body weight. Those results are absolutely impressive and represent one of the most significant advances we've seen in obesity medicine. But there's an important detail that often gets overlooked when people see those numbers. Those results did not happen in a few months. The average weight loss reported in the study occurred over approximately 80 weeks, about a year and a half, with some participants followed for up to two years. You already know something has changed - the energy crashes, the slow recovery, the brain fog that wasn't there ten years ago. Most people assume that's just aging. But it's NOT. Nobel Prize-winning research has identified a single molecule that controls how fast your body breaks down, and more importantly, exactly why yours is being destroyed faster than it's being rebuilt. The fix isn't complicated, but the order you do it in matters. In this video, Dave breaks down what this molecule is, why your body is actively working against it, and the exact protocol (diet, fasting, exercise, and supplementation) to restore it before the gap gets any wider.Thank you to our sponsors!Gatlan | Book your free consultation at www.gatlan.com/DAVEViome | Check it out at viome.com and use code 10DAVE for 10% off. Fish Oil Supplements And Alzheimer's-Related Decline A two-year randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial led by researchers at USC tested whether 2,000 mg of DHA fish oil daily could slow Alzheimer's-related brain changes in 365 adults ages 55–80 who rarely consumed fish and had at least one Alzheimer's risk factor. Researchers confirmed the supplement reached the brain by measuring a roughly 17% increase in cerebrospinal fluid DHA after six months. Despite successfully increasing brain DHA levels, participants taking fish oil showed no significant improvements in memory, global cognitive function, or hippocampal volume compared to placebo after two years. Host Dave Asprey explains why raising a single biomarker doesn't always translate into better brain performance, why nutrition works differently inside a complete dietary pattern than as an isolated supplement, and what this study means for anyone relying on fish oil as an Alzheimer's prevention strategy. Sources: https://medicalxpress.com/news/2026-06-fish-oil-supplements-alzheimer-decline.pdf https://www.cnn.com/2026/06/18/health/omega-3-fish-oil-algae-supplement-wellness ~~ DASH Diet Showed the Strongest Link to Long-Term Brain Health Researchers from Harvard analyzed dietary data from 159,347 participants across three long-running U.S. health studies to examine how eating patterns influence cognitive aging. Participants completed dietary questionnaires every four years over several decades, allowing investigators to compare six healthy dietary patterns, including the DASH and Mediterranean diets. While all six were associated with better cognitive health later in life, adherence to the DASH diet produced the strongest association, with participants showing roughly a 40% lower risk of subjective cognitive decline and stronger performance on objective cognitive testing. The protective relationship was strongest when healthy eating habits began during midlife. Host Dave Asprey breaks down why blood sugar control, lower inflammation, and healthier blood vessels may be the real drivers behind long-term brain resilience, and why your dietary choices in your 40s and 50s may have an outsized impact on cognitive aging decades later. Sources: https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamaneurology/article-abstract/2845466 https://www.health.harvard.edu/diet-and-nutrition/harvard-study-six-healthy-diets-linked-with-better-long-term-brain-health https://www.eurekalert.org/news-releases/1117225 ~~ Scientists Identified an Ancient Brain Circuit That Filters Distractions Johns Hopkins researchers discovered a small population of inhibitory neurons within an evolutionarily ancient brainstem region that appears to control selective attention by determining which sensory information deserves focus and which distractions should be ignored. Mice trained on visual attention tasks consistently ignored irrelevant stimuli until researchers temporarily silenced these neurons, causing even weak distractions to hijack their attention while leaving vision and movement otherwise unaffected. Similar brain circuits exist in birds, reptiles, and other vertebrates, suggesting this attentional filtering system evolved long before the modern human cortex. Host Dave Asprey explains why attention may depend on much older brain circuitry than previously believed, how this discovery could reshape our understanding of ADHD and autism, and why future therapies may target the brainstem instead of the prefrontal cortex. Sources: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2026/06/260624025426.htm ~~ Nearly Half of Older Adults Improved With Age Instead of Declining A Yale-led study followed 11,340 adults age 65 and older for up to 12 years using repeated measurements of cognition and walking speed to better understand how aging changes over time. Rather than finding universal decline, researchers discovered that 45% of participants improved in either cognitive function, physical performance, or both. Nearly one-third experienced measurable cognitive improvements, while over one-quarter improved physically. Researchers also found that participants with more positive beliefs about aging were significantly more likely to improve, even after accounting for education, chronic illness, depression, and other health factors. Host Dave Asprey explores why expectations about aging may become biologically embedded, why decline is far less inevitable than conventional medicine often assumes, and how mindset may directly influence healthy longevity. Sources: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2026/06/260620100428.htm ~~ Glyphosate May Be Contributing to Antibiotic-Resistant Superbugs Researchers publishing in Frontiers in Microbiology examined 102 bacterial strains collected from hospitals, agricultural land, and protected wetlands to investigate whether glyphosate exposure contributes to multidrug antibiotic resistance. Hospital bacteria demonstrated extensive resistance to both antibiotics and glyphosate, while even bacteria living inside protected nature reserves displayed measurable glyphosate resistance despite no direct herbicide application. Genetic analysis suggested resistant bacterial strains may move between agricultural environments and hospitals through shared waterways and sediments. The researchers argue pesticide safety testing should also evaluate whether chemicals encourage antibiotic resistance, one of the world's fastest-growing public health threats. Host Dave Asprey explains why environmental toxins may have unintended effects on the human microbiome, how herbicides could influence antimicrobial resistance beyond farming, and why environmental biology increasingly belongs in conversations about human health. Sources: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2026/06/260620100434.htm https://www.openaccessgovernment.org/common-weedkiller-glyphosate-linked-to-rise-in-superbugs-scientists-warn/207515/ ~~ Butterflies That Barely Age Could Unlock New Longevity Pathways Researchers from the University of Bristol found that Heliconius butterflies live dramatically longer than closely related butterfly species while aging much more slowly. In one comparison, Heliconius hewitsoni survived up to 348 days, while a closely related species lived only 14 days. Unlike most butterflies, Heliconius feed on pollen throughout adulthood, providing amino acids that help preserve muscle function and physical performance with age. However, even when pollen was removed, these butterflies still significantly outlived their relatives, suggesting evolved genetic and metabolic mechanisms also contribute to their exceptional longevity. Host Dave Asprey explores why nature continues to provide unexpected models for slowing biological aging, what scientists hope to learn from species that naturally maintain function over time, and how comparative biology may uncover entirely new pathways for extending human healthspan. Sources: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2026/06/260622014302.htm ~~ This episode is designed for biohackers, longevity enthusiasts, and high-performance listeners who want mechanism-level insights into omega-3 supplementation and Alzheimer's prevention, nutrition strategies for preserving cognitive health, newly discovered brain circuits controlling attention, the surprising biology behind healthy aging, environmental drivers of antibiotic resistance, and what one remarkably long-lived butterfly can teach us about extending healthspan. It's sagging because the collagen holding it together is being destroyed from the inside out, and most of the money people spend on creams and lasers never touches the real cause. In this episode I break down the compound researchers keep returning to for collagen, elasticity, and skin aging. It isn't a prescription or an exotic ingredient. It's high quality olive oil, and specifically three polyphenols inside it: hydroxytyrosol, oleuropein, and oleocanthal. One behaves like an anti-inflammatory drug. One protects your collagen. One is rated a stronger antioxidant than vitamin C. I walk through the human research, the realistic timeline for results, and exactly how to tell whether the bottle in your kitchen has the polyphenols or none at all. Key takeaways: Skin sagging is driven by three internal enemies: oxidative stress, glycation from sugar, and fibroblasts slowing down with age In lab studies, olive polyphenols made human collagen factory cells multiply and migrate faster In a French cohort of nearly 3,000 adults, the highest olive oil eaters had measurably less facial aging, even after controlling for sun, smoking, and weight Oleocanthal works on the same inflammatory pathway as ibuprofen Realistic timeline: four to six weeks for hydration, eight to twelve weeks for texture and elasticity Most grocery store olive oil has lost its polyphenols to heat, light, time, and cheap processing The protocol: two tablespoons of fresh, single origin, dark glass bottle olive oil daily Find All The Ben Azadi Show Sponsorship Deals https://www.ketokamp.com/sponsorship-deals Learn more about your ad choices.
