"We love because he first loved us" 1 John 4:19 Mother, Bride, Sister, Colleague, Friend...these are identities and roles many of us play and have been called to. But what if one of the hurdles we have that keeps us from fully living the divinely appointed vocations we are called to is that we often forget that we are FIRST daughter. We can often feel overwhelmed by all of our daily responsibilities and duties. So many people rely on us that we can frequently lose sight of our belovedness, of our first and eternal identity as daughters. Momma, friend, you are first his most precious daughter. When we are able to rest, live, and love sitting under the care and gaze of our heavenly Father, we become more free to love fully those around us. Have an episode idea you want to hear about? When her dream job stopped bringing joy, Lauren Hale picked up a $5 ring light—and sparked a movement helping women embrace aging with confidence. In today's episode, I'm joined by Lauren Hale, a beauty educator, digital creator, and the author of Girl, Put On Your Lipstick, the World Needs You. After spending years as a kindergarten teacher and full-time mom, Lauren made a bold midlife pivot into the beauty industry. In her 40s, she began building an online platform dedicated to empowering women to embrace aging with confidence and authenticity. Known for her real-talk makeup tutorials, filter-free content, and emotionally resonant storytelling, Lauren helps women rediscover themselves—one brushstroke at a time. Through her writing, videos, and thriving online community, she encourages others to rewrite their narratives, embrace imperfection, and find joy in every season of life.Throughout this episode, Lauren shares the deeper journey behind her transformation. She opens up about the emotional toll of people-pleasing, the identity loss that came with motherhood, and the moment she realized that joy had quietly slipped away. What began as a creative outlet—doing makeup for friends—quickly turned into a mission to help women reconnect with their inner worth through simple self-care rituals. Her reflections on aging, authenticity in a filtered world, and redefining purpose beyond traditional roles speak to so many navigating similar transitions. Lauren also discusses the reality of building a meaningful presence online, including the challenges of imposter syndrome, performance pressure, and staying true to yourself in a monetized space. Her vulnerability and insight throughout this conversation are both deeply relatable and profoundly empowering.Tune in to episode 213 of Joy Found Here as Lauren Hale shares how rediscovering her passion for beauty in midlife helped her transform burnout into purpose. American culture is full of striving: hustling at work, pushing ourselves in the gym, working to be beautiful or good enough. In today's conversation, I have the gift of talking with Kimberly Stuart about the concept of grace; how to apply it amidst our culture and why it's entirely miraculous and worth revisiting. Kim Stuart is the author of eight published novels, a speaker, a writing coach alongside author Bob Goff, co-leads writing retreats, and hosts two podcasts, For Real with Kimberly Stuart and The Writing Room. In today's conversation, Kim shares about her latest book, Star for Jesus and Other Jobs I Quit: Rediscovering the Grace that Sets Us Free. In particular, Kim discusses what drew her to the topic of grace, how we might reframe perfectionism, what living a great story looks like, and how we can use our agency to redefine beauty in our lives. This was such a fun and meaningful conversation; I can't wait for you to listen!Buy Melissa L. Johnson's book, Soul-Deep Beauty: Fighting for Our True Worth in a World Demanding Flawless, here. In this soulful episode of SolFul Connections, photographer Kristen Kidd shares how her camera became a bridge, not just to art, but to meaning, memory, and deep emotional connection. From capturing the chaos and beauty of family dynamics to preserving the tender bonds between people and their pets, Kristen's journey is a reminder that behind every image is a story — and behind every story is a heartbeat.Through her lens, Kristen invites us to reconsider how we define beauty, how we hold space for grief and joy, and how photography can help us see one another, and ourselves, more clearly. This conversation invites you reflect on the sacred moments in your own life: the connections you've built, the memories you're preserving (or avoiding), and the everyday beauty you may have forgotten how to notice. Whether you're a creator, a pet lover, or someone simply navigating life with an open heart, Kristen's story will help you find your own story in the stillness between the clicks.Boudoir Photographer | Headshot Photos | Lux Summit StudioThinking of making your own podcast? Today, we have a powerful and deeply honest conversation with Naeem Fazal, author of "Tomorrow Needs You." Naeem grew up in Kuwait in a Pakistani Muslim family, survived the Gulf War, and eventually found himself in the U.S. grappling with questions of identity, fear, and faith. What followed was a series of raw, spiritual encounters that opened his heart to Jesus in ways he never expected. In our conversation, we talk about what it means to find hope when everything feels lost. Naeem shares how the beauty of Jesus began to reshape his story, and why perfect love, not just faith, is what truly drives out fear. We explore the idea that hope isn't something we chase after, but something the Holy Spirit grows within us. This conversation is a reminder that beauty matters, that creating something - even something small - can pull us into the presence of God, and that tomorrow does, in fact, need you. Join us as we create something beautiful. Naeem Fazal, a Pakistani, was born and raised in Kuwait. He grew up in a Muslim family, was a teenager in the midst of the Gulf War, and came to the United States in 1992. He had a supernatural experience with Christ that changed the course of his life. He is the author of Ex-Muslim and Tomorrow Needs You, and the founding pastor of Mosaic Church in Charlotte, NC. In this powerful episode of Skin Anarchy, Dr. Ekta Yadav sits down with legendary esthetician Joanna Czech to challenge everything we think we know about skincare. With over 40 years of experience and more than 13,000 hours of clinical training, Joanna brings a rare depth of insight that cuts through beauty marketing and focuses on real skin health. From her scientific roots in Poland to her philosophy that skin should be treated as the vital organ it is, Joanna shares why trends—from salmon semen creams to collagen powders—often do more harm than good. She unpacks the myths behind “clean beauty,” the mislabeling of skin types, and the misuse of trendy ingredients like exosomes and stem cells. For Joanna, true skincare is not about chasing fads—it's about understanding biology, consistency, and common sense.Listeners will walk away with practical insights, including the importance of nighttime routines, the difference between dehydration and dryness, and how lifestyle—down to hydration timing and sleep—directly impacts the skin. Joanna's refreshingly honest perspective emphasizes education over obsession and science over sales. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by the noise of the skincare industry, this episode will ground you. Tune in for a reality check that's equal parts inspiring and enlightening—and discover why Joanna Czech's approach is trusted by everyone from celebrities to fellow professionals.CHAPTERS:(0:00) Introduction to Joanna Czech(1:19) Joanna's Background and Journey into Aesthetics(4:37) From Manicurist to Recognized Expert in Skincare(6:07) Understanding Skin Health Beyond Surface Treatments(9:30) The Connection Between Lifestyle, Nutrition, and Skin Health(12:00) Debunking Skin Care Trends: Collagen, Tallow, and More(16:31) The Importance of Proper Skin Care Rituals(19:45) Recommendations for Starting a Skin Care Routine in Your 30s(26:42) The Science of Skin: pH Balance, Retinol, and DehydrationTo learn more about Joanna Czech, visit their website and social media.Don't forget to subscribe to Skin Anarchy on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or your preferred platform.Reach out to us through email with any questions.Sign up for our newsletter!Shop all our episodes and products mentioned through our ShopMy Shelf! Will we somehow share in God's glory in the age to come? In this episode of Light + Truth, John Piper draws on Athanasius and Scripture to show how believers will rejoice in the radiance of Christ.
Spiritual awakening may feel more like a sigh than a celebration. In this episode, Raghunath and Kaustubha explore why our most profound encounters with beauty—whether through art, music, or moments of stillness—are often blended with a kind of sweet ache or longing. Could that aching sensation be a clue? A sign that the soul is remembering something sacred? Through the lens of bhakti yoga, they unpack the idea of Viśvātmā—God as the soul of the universe—and how real connection is not found through constant searching outward, but by turning within. Key Highlights: • World-renowned geneticist sees the experience of beauty as something beyond neurochemistry • Why our most “transcendent” moments may come with a lump in the throat • Are we spiritually searching… or just spiritually shopping? • How the ache of beauty can be more real than our most comfortable beliefs This is a conversation about art, longing, and the quiet pull toward something eternal—one that might already be inside you. Savanna and Tyler are back from their annual family trip, and let's just say... a lot went down in St. Bart's. From toddler tantrums to glass-shattering perfume disasters, 3-foot-long pizzas, and accidentally crashing a celebrity's private dinner party (hi, Kelly Rowland
Messy Family Podcast : Catholic conversations on marriage and family
God has selected you uniquely to be the mother for these children. He will equip you for the work He wants you to do! Summary No one feels prepared to be a parent. Even if you were one of the oldest of 10 kids in a Catholic family (like Alicia or Katie) or a family of 7 (like Suzanne) you can never really be ready! The key to surviving, and even thriving, is stepping fully into your identity as a daughter of God. All the love that we have for our spouse and children needs to come from a deep place of confident love from our Heavenly Father. Listen in to this interview with Suzanne Bilodeau, author of She Loved: Resting in the Beauty of Motherhood, a compilation of letters from older mothers to their younger selves. In our conversation we talk about actually NOT finding our identity in our motherhood, but in our daughterhood, how fear is a liar, and the importance of compassion for yourself. Key Takeaways Fear is a liar. Satan tells you that you are not enough. God says - I made you for this moment. We can be transformed when we recognize that before we are a wife or mommy we are a daughter. That is foundational. We all need to have compassion for ourselves. This is a theme found in most of the letters written for She Loved! Don't be a martyr to your motherhood. Take time for yourself to reconnect with God and others.

Summer is full of joyful moments—vacations, pool parties, sunshine—but sometimes, one photo can pull us out of the memory and into self-judgment. In this episode, Jess shares how to navigate body image triggers that pop up in pictures and social settings, and how to shift from insecurity to empowerment. With a personal story from Water World, a relatable lesson from her son's soccer tryout, and science-backed insights on emotion regulation and perception, this episode reminds you that you are more than what a photo captures—and you're probably farther along than you think.
Ian McCartor, hospice nurse and founder of The Ash Rose, shares how he transforms cremated ashes into rose-shaped memorials—and how creativity and ritual can support the grief journey.
In this episode, Kelly is joined by social media superstar Indy Clinton for a raw, unfiltered chat about online trolling and beauty transformations, plus her new collaboration with haircare brand Bouf. Indy opens up about the bizarre reality of facing criticism over her recent rhinoplasty (seriously, are we still judging women's personal choices?!) and shares the hilarious truth behind accidentally leaking TBH Skincare's unreleased product after a few too many at a Taylor Swift concert. Between confessing her phobia of greasy hair and admitting to occasionally sleeping in makeup, Indy proves she's still a refreshingly relatable queen. In an episode full of laugh-out-loud moments and serious truth bombs, Kelly and Indy tackle everything from society's impossible standards for mothers to the joy of fake freckles gone wrong. Listen to the end for Indy's candid take on beauty trends she can't stand and her hilariously minimal skincare routine ("What even is this K-beauty product my friend gave me?"). Enjoy Youbies! The emotion espoused by the Winter Court of the Lost is sorrow, but it's hard to feel too down about the sheer volume of material provided in their nominally associated book, Winter Masques. (Maybe we can shed a tear for the wild inconsistency in font sizes between sections?) While Autumn Nightmares was more of a Storyteller-facing guide, this one introduces a wealth of options that players can take advantage of as well: new kiths, new Contracts, alternate Court systems, and so forth. There are some deep dives into the nature of each Seeming and descriptions of new corners of Arcadia (and new Hedge-paths to reach them). The book insists upon diversity as a theme, and while its take might look a bit quaint nearly twenty years later, it still points to the vast potential scope of the game. So put on your thickest mittens and turn some pages with us as we delve into what's inside...
