Relationship expert Matthew Hussey challenges the way we think about self-love, arguing that it's not bubble baths or affirmations—it's taking responsibility for your own well-being. He shares a refreshing framework that moves beyond comparison and perfection. In this conversation, Matthew shares why you don't have to like yourself to love yourself, how self-compassion is an action rather than a feeling, and what it means to truly show up for the one person you're responsible for your entire life: you. Are you enough? With all of your flaws and imperfections, with all of your mistakes and misunderstandings, how can you really be enough? As women, many of us have spent years grappling with this concept of being enough, and very often we come up wanting. We don't feel we are pretty enough, skinny enough, compassionate enough, tough enough, strong enough, vulnerable enough, happy enough, etc. You name it, we often don't feel we are enough of it, unless we start to believe we are too much of something: too outspoken, too strong, too vulnerable, too compassionate, too happy, to skinny, etc. So where do we find the place of being content – happy with who we are and the path we're on, while also acknowledging our human imperfections? Could the way you relate to yourself be affecting your experience of persistent pain?In this episode of Beyond The Pain, Leigh Brandon speaks with Lindsay Little about the complex relationship between physical pain, emotional pain and self-love. Drawing on her own experience of serious illness, autoimmune disease and feeling disconnected from her body, Lindsay explains how her health crisis led her to explore massage, somatic practices and the deeper messages held within the body.Together, Leigh and Lindsay discuss why physical and emotional pain cannot always be separated, how a lack of self-love may influence the way we care for ourselves, and why healing may require more than treating symptoms alone. They also explore how chronic stress, unresolved emotions, personal boundaries and our need to feel loved can affect our physical and emotional well-being. Lindsay shares practical ways to begin cultivating self-love, including identifying how you prefer to receive love, becoming more mindful of your needs, establishing healthier boundaries and making space for meaningful self-care.In this episode, you'll discover:How Lindsay's experience with autoimmune disease changed her relationship with her bodyWhy physical and emotional pain are often deeply interconnectedHow unresolved emotional experiences may contribute to persistent symptomsWhy self-love is about more than positive thinking or pampering yourselfHow your personal “love languages” can be applied to self-careWhy healthy boundaries are an essential expression of self-respectHow mindfulness and somatic awareness can help you reconnect with your bodyPractical first steps towards developing a more supportive relationship with yourselfIf you have persistent pain and feel that something important has been overlooked, this conversation offers a compassionate invitation to listen to your body, explore your emotional needs and consider healing from a whole-person perspective.Connect with Lindsay LittleSomaLingua:https://somalingua.com/Connect with Leigh BrandonBeyond The Pain paperback:https://amzn.to/4y2HVWgBeyond The Pain ebook:https://amzn.to/4y0lH78Beyond The Pain 14-Day Programme:https://bodychek.co.uk/beyond-the-pain-programme/Free Pain-Free Plate Guide:https://www.bodychek.co.uk/freepainguide/Consult with Leigh:https://www.bodychek.co.uk/consultation

Share the Light. Spread the Light. Shine!LDS AND MEDIUM PODCAST BACKGROUND:I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or LDS for short. All my life I felt awkward and out of place, not because of my religion, but because of my spiritual gifts. It was hard to combine the idea of what first seemed like two separate worlds. So my whole life I have tried. I have learnt more about my gifts, and stayed faithful to my faith. But then I heard people left the church because it seems impossible to combine the two. So I am here, to try and mend the rift. To show that it is possible to be both LDS and to have, and use, our spiritual gifts. I am not alone on this journey, but my sister, who just is waking up to her spiritual gifts is by my side and she will also share her story.Jesus Christ, our older brother, was a healer. He asked us to love one another. So let´s follow in his footsteps. Please join me on this journey, let´s make a community of strong spiritual LDS, or whatever religion you belong to, and all work together to make this world a better place. If you like what I do, then you can find me here:https://linktr.ee/ldsandmediumIf you have words of support or stories that you anonymously want me to share please write me at ldsandmedium@gmail.com. Nyomi is 15 days into her 30 Hard challenge, and tonight she gets REAL about what discipline actually means. On Day 13, her body shut down. She had a choice: restart at Day 1 or repeat Day 14 and continue. She chose to honor the work she'd already done and keep moving forward. This episode explores the difference between perfectionism and REAL discipline - it's not about being perfect, it's about being RESILIENT. It's about continuing when you fall, not erasing your progress.Nyomi shares the powerful story of a man who walked from Philadelphia to Los Angeles to raise money for a school, got hit by a car during the journey, and kept going. That's what real discipline looks like.If you've ever thought about restarting instead of continuing, if you've been knocked down and wondered if it's worth getting back up, if you're learning what real discipline means - this episode is for you.KEY TOPICS & MOMENTS:✓ 15 days into 30 Hard challenge✓ Day 13 body shutdown (post-explant surgery healing journey)✓ The choice: restart at Day 1 or repeat Day 14✓ Nyomi chose to CONTINUE and honor the 13 days of work✓ What she did on Day 14 (pull exercises, eating right, continuing)✓ Day 15 moving forward✓ The Philadelphia to Los Angeles walker (100-day goal, got hit by car, kept going)✓ Discipline vs. Perfectionism✓ Resilience as the core of real discipline✓ Honoring your progress (not erasing it)✓ Getting up where you fall✓ The importance of "your why"✓ Not being afraid to work hard to find out how great you can be✓ Morning rituals (shower, altar, prayer, meditation, journaling)✓ Understanding that things happen (unforeseen circumstances)✓ Continuing forward vs. starting completely over✓ The quote: "Don't be afraid to work hard enough to find out how great you can really be"✓ Community wisdom (callers shared their experiences with starting/stopping)✓ Self-love isn't about perfection✓ Healing journey awareness✓ Discipline in real life (when podcasts interrupt morning rituals, etc.)THE CORE MESSAGE:"Discipline is so sexy, but not because it's perfect, but because it's RESILIENT.Because it continues. Because it honors you in where you are and how you're moving and how you move from there. When you get knocked down, you get up where you fell and you keep going. That's discipline. That's resilience."— Nyomi BanksTHE 30 HARD CHALLENGE:Nyomi's 30 Hard consists of:✓ 30 minutes altar/prayer/meditation✓ 30 minutes walking✓ 30 minutes working out✓ 30 minutes reading/listening to uplifting content✓ Eating healthy mealsDay 13: Body shut downDay 14: Repeated (honored the 13 days + kept moving)Day 15: Pull exercises, healthy eating, continuing forwardTHE PHILADELPHIA TO LOS ANGELES WALKER STORY:A man set a 100-day goal to walk from Philadelphia to Los Angeles to raise money to build a school in Philadelphia.During the walk, he got HIT BY A CAR.Did he:A) Restart from Philadelphia?B) Give up?NO.He said: "Fix me up. Drawing from their own lived experiences, they discuss everything from when to disclose a diagnosis while dating to navigating rejection, communicating with partners, managing physical intimacy, and recognizing relationship red flags. They also share practical advice for building healthy partnerships rooted in honesty, empathy, and mutual support. Along the way, Cheryl and Eileen examine what research tells us about chronic illness, loneliness, and relationship outcomes, while challenging the myth that arthritis inevitably harms romantic relationships. Instead, they argue that although chronic illness can create real challenges, it can also deepen connection, vulnerability, and resilience with the right partner. Above all, they emphasize that the strongest foundation for any relationship is cultivating self-compassion, self-worth, and a healthy relationship with yourself first. Allie examines the growing divide on the Right over Guy Benson's announcement of his second child born via surrogacy, highlighting the tension between celebrating “conservative” gay voices and the reality that intentionally creating motherless or fatherless children violates God's design for the family. She breaks down research showing the disadvantages faced by children raised without both a mom and a dad, pushes back against the “family diversity myth,” and shares why normalizing surrogacy, IVF for same-sex couples, and same-sex marriage undermines conservatism and harms kids. Most leaders were taught that self-love is soft, or even selfish. It is actually the skill that keeps you from burning out. Self-love is the real foundation of sustainable leadership. In this episode of The Hard Skills, Dr. Mira Brancu sits down with psychologist and life coach Dr. Dana Gionta, author of "52 Weeks to Self-Love." They get into what self-love actually means for someone in a high-pressure leadership role, and why it has nothing to do with being self-centered. Dr. Dana shares the health scare and the two-month sabbatical that forced her to change course, and how fear turned out to be the first step toward courage every single time. You will also hear why so many high achievers only stop when a health crisis stops them, how to spot the early warning signs in your own self-talk, and the simple shift from gap thinking to gain thinking that changes how you lead your team. If you have ever felt like people are walking on eggshells around you, this one is worth your time.Subscribe for weekly conversations on leadership, burnout, and mental health.Find our guest here:Connect with Dr. Dana Giontawww.danagionta.comhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/danagiontaphd/@danagiontacoachinghttps://www.facebook.com/DanaGiontaCoaching/ https://lnkd.in/giKvuDqc (book link) To find more of my work:Subscribe to this channelSubscribe to my free newsletter at: mailchi.mp/2079c04f4d44/subscribeWork with me one-on-one: calendly.com/mira-brancu/30-minute-initial-consultationConnect with me on LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/MiraBrancuLearn more about my services: www.gotowerscope.comGet practical workplace politics tips from my books: gotowerscope.com/booksGet my free Strategic Clarity and Leadership Resilience assessment: https://mailchi.mp/e1ebf8505764/slr-assessment Get my Free Burnout Root Cause Assessment: https://mailchi.mp/29d7d18fae4a/burnout-root-cause-assessmentGet my Workplace Grief Guide: https://mailchi.mp/46873b910380/workplace-grief-field-guide Find other free resources to support your leadership growth: https://gotowerscope.com/other-free-stuff Join the next Towerscope leadership workshop or fellowship: https://gotowerscope.com/fellowship

In his first live presentation in over six years, author and psychotherapist Ross Rosenberg (The Human Magnet Syndrome, The Codependency Revolution) delivers "The Healing Power of Self-Love" — a deeply personal keynote at Pensacola's Unitarian Universalist Church on why caring, generous people repeatedly end up in relationships that leave them depleted, invisible, and emotionally starving. Drawing on 40 years as a therapist and his own healing journey, Ross reframes codependency as Self-Love Deficit Disorder (SLDD), a treatable condition rooted in attachment trauma, shame, and pathological loneliness, and shares the frameworks that have helped thousands — including the SLDD pyramid, "relationship math," and the five pillars of healthy love. Equal parts confession, education, and call to action, this talk is an invitation to look courageously inward and begin the journey from self-abandonment to self-love abundance. For information on The Pensacola Unitarian Universalist Church: https://uupensacola.org/Come Home to Yourself Where healing becomes a holistic, embodied way of being via reflection, ritual and releaseListen on: Apple Podcasts SpotifySupport the showABOUT ROSS ROSENBERG Ross Rosenberg, M.Ed., LCPC, CADC, is a psychotherapist, educator, expert witness, and celebrated author. In this powerful episode of “Relatable,” Allie Beth Stuckey sits down with father-son evangelists Cliffe and Stuart Knechtle for a raw conversation on bold gospel proclamation in a hostile culture. Cliffe shares his remarkable journey from preaching in rough Boston bars to facilitating decades of open-air dialogues on university campuses, while Stuart recounts growing up in the midst of it and leveraging social media to reach millions with pre-evangelism and gospel conversations. Together they address the dramatic cultural shifts they've witnessed — from increased emotional fragility and moral relativism to the devaluing of human life and growing hostility toward Christian truth. The discussion dives deep into handling doubt, the importance of intellectual honesty in faith, why politics must never overshadow Christ, and practical ways to engage skeptics with grace and truth. Cliffe and Stuart also explore why many Gen Zers are walking away from church and how believers can demolish doubt with evidence and compassion. A must-watch for anyone passionate about evangelism, apologetics, and raising the next generation with unshakable faith. Share the Arrows 2026 is on October 10 in Dallas, Texas! Today, I interview Riana Malia, who grew up through repeated family breakups, broken promises, and the belief that she had to earn love. The instability left her feeling unsettled, too much in some ways and not enough in others, while also teaching her to become deeply resourceful. Those early beliefs followed Riana through marriage, motherhood, financial hardship, betrayal, and relationships where she tried to manage outcomes and become who others needed her to be. Although she went to therapy, read the books, and talked about her experiences, the anger, sadness, and old story continued to shape her life. Her breakthrough came when she realized that repeatedly telling the same story was keeping her inside it. She learned to stand on her story instead, let go of the belief that she had to beg people to love her, and become the same person in every room. That shift helped her break the cycle of broken promises and create a different life.Today, Riana uses what she has learned to help women stop repeating the relationship patterns that no longer serve them. She helps them get clear about who they are, what they want, and the life and love they want to create.__________________Riana Malia is a Board-Certified Neurosomatic Practitioner, Identity Architect, and private authority for women who have built extraordinary lives and refuse to settle for ordinary love. Her methodology blends neurological rewiring, subconscious reprogramming, and nervous system recoding to address what therapy, retreats, and self-help have not been able to reach.Riana is the creator of the Clear to Create™ Method, which helps women clear old patterns, create aligned beliefs and habits, and claim a new identity. She is also the founder and host of the Brilliance Brunch™, an invitation-only gathering for high-achieving women in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the creator of the Extraordinary Love Index™ (ELI™), an assessment that reveals what may be standing between a woman and extraordinary love.__________________Find Riana here:Website: https://rianamalia.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rianamalia/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@rianamalia LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rianamalia/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RianaMalia/ Substack: https://substack.com/@rianamalia Freebie: https://quiz.rianamalia.com/Support the showI'm Dr. Doreen Downing and I help people find their voice so they can speak without fear. What if the most transformative thing you could do isn't become someone new - but finally learn to love and trust the person you already are? For many people, especially those raised in religious traditions that emphasized self-sacrifice over self-compassion, self-love can feel uncomfortable... even wrong. In this heartfelt conversation, Brenda sits down with Brian Beall to explore his journey from fear and self-doubt to self-acceptance. Together, they discuss how healing, emotional awareness, and learning to trust yourself can deepen—not diminish—your relationship with the Divine. Whether you've questioned your faith, wrestled with religious conditioning, or simply wondered if caring for yourself is somehow selfish, this episode offers permission to approach your healing with curiosity, compassion, and courage. In this episode, we explore: Why self-love isn't selfish Healing from religious conditioning and spiritual shame Learning to trust yourself and your intuition The role of somatic healing and emotional awareness Why feeling your emotions creates freedom instead of weakness Moving from fear and self-doubt to self-acceptance What true transformation looks like ✨ If this conversation resonates with you, the POWER waitlist is now open for women who are ready to deepen their self-trust, discernment, and inner authority. As therapists and health practitioners, caring for other people can feel automatic, while caring for yourself can feel uncomfortable, overly indulgent, or like something you will finally get to once everyone else is okay. When your work is built around caring for clients, a team, a family, and a community, continually placing yourself last is not sustainable — especially when the structure of your practice leaves little room for your own needs. In this first-ever compilation episode of Money Skills for Therapists: The Podcast, Linzy revisits conversations with Maegan Megginson, Karen Dyck & Melissa Tiessen, Kasey Compton, and Darya Zuychenko about why self-sacrifice can feel so normal for therapists and healers, and what it looks like to build a private practice that makes room for you, too. Together, these conversations explore how professional training and cultural conditioning can shape the way therapists set their schedules, fees, and boundaries; why self-care needs to be part of the workday itself; and how self-love and self-awareness affect leadership.Linzy also reflects on her own years in private practice and the difference between being technically available for a session and having the energy to offer your best work. Her experience shows why repeatedly overriding your limits to fit in one more client has a cost, not only for your own well-being and your life outside work, but also for the quality of care you are able to offer. If you have been working beyond your limits, organizing your schedule around everyone else, or struggling to make space for a life outside your practice, this episode will help you look at your needs with more honesty, compassion, and curiosity. Instead of treating your well-being and client care as competing priorities, these conversations invite you to consider what becomes possible when the structure of your practice supports both.Timestamps:03:46 - Why Healers Build Businesses That Serve Everyone Else05:13 - Caregiving, Self-Sacrifice, and Who Becomes a Therapist06:20 - What Licensing and Training Teach Therapists About Value07:46 - Patriarchy, Business, and Putting Yourself Last09:35 - Why This Is More Than a Boundary Problem10:08 - How Gender and Professional Training Shape the Workday11:38 - Why Self-Care Needs to Happen During Work13:59 - The Four Cs of Therapist Self-Care14:37 - Believing That Your Own Needs Matter15:11 - Self-Love, Money, and Achievement17:43 - Self-Awareness as a Leadership Skill19:39 - What Your Boundaries Are Protecting20:10 - When You Disappear from Your Own Life21:13 - Making Life More Compelling Than Work23:30 - What Overriding Your Limits Costs23:59 - The Energetic Cost of One More Client24:27 - Seeing Clients Outside Your Best Hours26:02 - Are You Actually Doing Your Best Work?26:40 - Small Schedule Changes That Give Energy Back28:07 - Linzy's Closing Reflection and Listener InvitationConversations Featured in This Episode:Episode 16 - How to Create a Burnout-Proof Business with Maegan MegginsonEpisode 162 - Redefining Self-Care in Private Practice with Karen Dyck & Melissa TiessenEpisode 92 - Self-Love as a Missing Piece with Money with Kasey ComptonEpisode 28 - Creating Work-Life Balance in Private Practice (Coaching Session) with Darya ZuychenkoEpisode 145FF - The Real Cost of Overbooking Yourself as a TherapistShare Your Favorite Podcast Moment:We would love to know which guest, episode, topic, or specific moment from Money Skills for Therapists: The Podcast has stayed with you. What if the greatest privilege you could give a child isn't opportunity — it's being allowed to stay creative? This week I sit down with actress, filmmaker, and creator Andrea Lewis — Degrassi's Hazel, the mind behind Netflix's The Black Beauty Effect, and now the creator of Glam Culture, her regional beauty docuseries. Andrea moves through the world with a rare kind of peace about her own timeline, and this conversation is a masterclass in what that actually looks like in practice. We get into how Essence Fest became her manifestation machine, the two women who shaped her sense of style (her Kingstonian grandmother and her cowgirl-Jamaican mother), the Maya Angelou advice she got at 15 that changed how she ages, the honest reality of crowdfunding your own art — what she calls "Game of Thrones shame" — the PCOS diagnosis that reshaped how she moves through the world, why you need champions (not connections) to actually move a career forward, and why the most valuable thing she inherited was being allowed to stay creative without anyone trying to pull it back.
This week's episode is an exploration of the search for freedom. For those of us who find ourselves on some kind of spiritual path, practicing techniques that allow us to expand into truer, fuller expressions of what we really are, it can be tempting to identify as ‘seekers.' Usually what we're seeking is a sense of freedom. One such seeker poses the question in this episode, “Is there such a thing as freedom?” All the mystics – ancient and modern – say there is. But why is it so hard to find it? And how does it connect to the idea of free will? Are we actually controlling the events of our life? Could it be that real freedom comes from releasing the “I” that thinks it needs to manage everything? Join in the group inquiry, get still, and notice what arises within in response to these questions.

Allie responds to the "pastor for queer ministry" at Trinity Lutheran Church (ELCA), who claims no one is going to hell for being gay, denies that hell is a real place, calls Christianity the "religion of bigotry," and declares "queer is God's design." She examines what Jesus actually taught about hell and eternal punishment, what the Bible says about homosexuality, and why God's design for marriage and sexuality has never changed. Also, Allie answers viewer questions of reading other religious texts, nursing throughout the night, and a female pastor at a Christian preschool. Do you have a question for Allie? Is Ms. Rachel a glaring example of moral relativism? Allie breaks down how her content, which is geared toward children, praises hijabs in a Minnesota kindergarten while condemning Israel. Ms. Rachel ignores the forced dress code and female genital mutilation put upon children, while upholding a false equivalency between cultures. Allie goes on to show why Christian civilization has delivered the most objective good and why it is not godly to ignore sin in order to appear kind. Also, producer Bri stops in to read between the lines on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding, breaking down the insider symbolism and juicy rumors that just might be true. At 59 years old, Halle Berry is stepping into her most authentic chapter yet, and she's not asking for permission. In this candid conversation with Hoda Kotb on Making Space, the Oscar-winning actress and director pulls back the curtain on the "invisible" stage of aging, the realities of menopause, and why she is done managing everyone else's expectations. Halle opens up about her passion project, and why she's fighting to destigmatize women's health in a society that often overlooks women once they turn 50. She also gets candid about her partnership with Joylux and her new product, "Juicy Like a Peach," sharing how this innovation helped her reclaim her sex life and why she believes it's time to stop shying away from important conversations about pleasure.
