Healing Acne & Transforming Mindset with Meg GaicIn this enlightening episode of Linda's Corner: Inspiration for a Better Life, we welcome Meg Gaic, a Holistic Nutritionist, skincare professional, acne expert, and creator of the Get Glow Method. Meg shares her personal journey of overcoming chronic acne, weight gain, joint pain, and hormonal imbalances—all rooted in the deep-seated stress of childhood trauma and bullying. After spending over five years and $40,000 on pills and temporary “band-aid” solutions, Meg discovered the true foundation of healing: mindset. She realized that the way we talk to ourselves directly impacts our bodies. If we tell ourselves we're unworthy, our bodies will reflect that belief through persistent symptoms. In this episode, Meg shares powerful insights, including: ✅ Why mindset is the key to the castle when it comes to healing✅ How negative self-talk contributes to chronic skin conditions and other health issues✅ Understanding that your body is your friend, and symptoms are messages, not enemies✅ The importance of getting curious, not frustrated, when symptoms arise✅ Why authentic healing takes time (at least three months to see real results!)✅ How the Get Glow Method helps rewire the subconscious mind and heal from within✅ Why you are worthy of clear skin, self-love, and a joyful life—right nowMeg's holistic approach to healing acne is about far more than just skincare—it's about self-worth, self-love, and deep healing from within. If you've ever struggled with chronic skin issues or self-doubt, this episode is a must-listen!Connect with Meg Gaic:

In this episode, Lisa sits down with Ann, a 71-year-old artist, dancer, and healer, who opens up about her lifelong journey with food, body image, and emotional healing. Ann takes us through the ups and downs of living in a body that often felt like both a battleground and a refuge. Through movement, dance, and the support of the OOTC community, she has found profound transformation—especially through her time in the Out of the Cave program.Topics Include:Food and Family DynamicsAdolescence and Body Shame Movement as HealingCommunity and Support[:35] Lisa encourages listeners to register for the Reclaiming Peace With Food Retreat at the Omega Institute from September 7-12, 2025 and to sign up for the final group coaching cohort starting in September.[4:45] Ann introduces herself as a 71-year-old artist from Seattle. Her professional life has centered on performing and healing arts, including movement, dance, theater, and massage therapy. She expresses a deep curiosity about the human experience and the mind-body connection. Lisa and Ann discuss her childhood memories of food. Ann shares her earliest memory wasn't about food but being 3 years old hiding in a cupboard with brown sugar. Ann remembers being a picky eater with little interest in food. [9:29] Ann describes dinner times as tense due to her father's presence. Ann talks about eating alone because of the tension at the table. Ann describes her struggles with body image, as she started linking her self-worth to her physical appearance during her teenage years. Lisa and Ann discuss how high school brought challenges with weight gain and body image, intensified by the school newspaper promoting an ‘ideal' female figure. [20:35] Ann shares how her career as an aerobics instructor in her mid-20s prompted an understanding of food as fuel for performance. She describes how this period of high physical activity and improved nutrition led to enhanced mental clarity, an end to a long-term depression, and a return to college. Lisa and Ann talk about how the death of her father and subsequent diagnosis of her mother with cancer further compounded a period of profound grief and depression, resulting in significant weight gain from emotional eating and decreased physical activity. [31:29] Ann talks about how after her mother's passing, she rediscovered dance through a mind-body practice called Nia. Ann became a Nia instructor for 13 years. Ann discovered that when she engaged in the movement she loved, her eating habits would improve.[41:50] Lisa and Ann discuss how in the summer of 2023, she was on a very restrictive diet, which made her angry at herself for ‘falling for it again' and giving her power away to an external system, despite intuitively knowing that such methods are not a long-term solution. Ann shares with Lisa how finding her 14-week program provided an essential container for healing. Lisa and Ann emphasize the power of the group setting, where listening to others' stories and feeling accepted creates a safe, powerful and transformative environment. [51:53] Lisa and Ann discuss how the program offers a unique, safe space to share vulnerabilities about food and body image. Ann shares that consistently experiencing safety and acceptance in a group is presented as the fundamental mechanism for transformation.*The views of podcast guests do not necessarily reflect the views and beliefs of Lisa Schlosberg or Out of the Cave, LLC.Purchase the OOTC book of 50 Journal PromptsLeave Questions and Feedback for Lisa via OOTC Pod Feedback Form Email Lisa: lisa@lisaschlosberg.comOut of the Cave Merch - For 10% off use code SCHLOS10Lisa's SocialsInstagram Facebook YouTubeReclaiming Peace With Food Retreat at the Omega Institute - September 7-12, 2025

Is your self-image suffering? Do you struggle with body shame issues? If you're like many people, you may see yourself through critical eyes that tell you you're not fit enough, thin enough, or as attractive as you'd like to be. From decades of research, I've found that many people of all genders suffer from feelings of low self-esteem and poor self-confidence that are often connected to body shame. And social media – with its often-doctored images promoting impossibly perfect ideals – can makes things worse. In fact, people often give up altogether when the bar is set too high. So how can you get unstuck and get motivated to simply be (and love) your best self--whatever that might look like? Are gentle mindfulness and self-compassion the keys? I'm joined by barre3 CEO and co-founder, Sadie Lincoln who will walk us into the realm of how mindful, compassionate exercise can increase body positivity, self-love, and overall well-being. Topics discussed include body image, body shaming, self-love, self-compassion, mindfulness, mindful movement, fitness, compassion, exercise, barre3, weight, weight loss, dieting, self-care, female entrepreneurs, negative self-talk, and positive self-talk. What happens when you start outsourcing your inner wisdom to a tarot guidebook, a well-meaning friend, or (gasp) an AI tool? You risk silencing your own magic. And when a witchy woman self-silences, she dims the very light that makes her energy powerful and her life authentically hers.In part three of the Sovereignty in the Digital Age series, we're moving into the heart chakra and throat chakra - your centers of self-love, self-worth, and self-expression - to explore how to protect your voice, your truth, and your confidence in a world where AI and algorithms are louder than ever. Here's what we'll cover:✨ Self-love vs. self-rejection: why loving yourself in all your imperfect, radiant humanness is a revolutionary act in a culture obsessed with optimization✨ Self-expression vs. self-silencing: how to speak your truth unapologetically, even when AI filters and social media likes try to define what “good” looks like✨ How to use technology as a tool: without letting it rewrite your worth, your story, or your magicWhether you're crafting spells by moonlight or experimenting with the latest AI app, you can hold both your spiritual sovereignty and your curiosity for new tools. The secret? Leading with self-rulership, self-trust, and that unshakable knowing that only you hold the magic that makes your life your own.Because in this era of Pluto in Aquarius, it's not just about keeping up with change—it's about making sure your magic is what leads the way.

Today, we break down the pain-free-birth movement and explore its theological roots. Can women truly experience a pain-free birth? Where did this concept originate, and why is it so controversial? In this episode, we dissect the claims made in the book "Supernatural Childbirth" by Jackie Mize. If you've been needing a little soul medicine to help you navigate life's twists and turns, this conversation is your invitation to breathe, soften, and remember your power. If you are an overthinker who often feels anxious and stuck, this episode is for you! You will be encouraged to unlearn the idea that anxiety should be avoided. Instead, you'll be motivated to approach these feelings with curiosity for more ease. To lead this conversation, Kelly is joined by fellow Canadian minimalist, spoken word artist, musician, international best-selling author, and former elementary school teacher, the incredibly insightful, Humble the Poet, to share insights from his latest book, Unanxious: 50 Simple Truths to Help Overthinkers Feel Less Stress and More Calm. Humble has been featured in the New York Times, Buzzfeed, Vogue, Rolling Stone, and HuffPost, and his book has earned high praise, including from his friend and leading podcaster Jay Shetty, who writes, “Three pages in, you'll feel 1,000 lbs lighter.” In Unanxious, Humble shares how he once numbed his anxiety, and how getting curious about his triggers helped him let go of unhelpful coping patterns, embrace discomfort, and experience more peace. In this first part of Kelly and Humble's two-part discussion, Humble talks about the 90-day dopamine fast he undertook to reset his nervous system, the benefits of feeling emotions even when they're uncomfortable, and how minimalism can reveal (rather than erase) anxious thoughts, creating space for deeper self-awareness and reduced anxiety. Self-love shouldn't come with conditions, yet so many of us hold ourselves hostage to impossible standards. I'm tackling this concept of "transactional self-love" in this throwback episode. Transactional self-love are the unconscious bargains we make with ourselves, promising kindness and acceptance only after certain benchmarks are met. We've all said it: "I'll love myself when I lose weight," "I'll be kind to myself once my divorce is finalized," or "I'll accept myself when I find someone new." These conditional statements reveal how deeply we've internalized the message that we must earn our own affection. I explore this phenomenon through multiple lenses; our biological negativity bias, childhood experiences of conditional love, and the societal conditioning that teaches women their value depends on external factors. The relationship you have with yourself forms the foundation for every other relationship in your life. When you withhold compassion from yourself, you're likely applying the same transactional approach to others. Breaking free from this pattern starts with awareness – identifying your personal conditions for self-acceptance and consciously choosing more compassionate alternatives. Through practical steps and thoughtful guidance, I demonstrate how to build an unshakable foundation of self-love that doesn't fluctuate based on achievements or circumstances. This isn't about achieving perfect self-love but creating a baseline of acceptance that supports you through life's inevitable challenges. You'll learn how to recognize your conditional thinking and practice new neural pathways of self-compassion through consistent, intentional thought work.To download your FREE GUIDE: "What to Expect When Divorcing: The Ultimate Guide to Dealing with the Emotional Rollercoaster of Divorce" click here. You can't truly love yourself if you're lying to yourself. And you certainly can't find peace in a version of you that's not real.Because when you try to love a version of yourself that isn't true, it feels empty. It's like people-pleasing: if you sacrifice authenticity for approval, then who are they really approving of? Not the real you. And the same goes for self-approval. If we dress up a lie and call it self-love, we're building a facade that will inevitably crumble. In this episode, you will learn…Why women, in particular, tend to lie to themselves (even more than they lie to others)What all major religions and spiritual teachings say about truth-telling3 simple but profound ways to use honesty as a daily practice of loving yourselfWe'll also explore ideas from authors like bell hooks, George Saunders, Don Miguel Ruiz, and Tara Brach, whose teachings remind us that honesty is the foundation of love.If you've ever felt like self-love doesn't “work” for you, or that you're doing everything but still feel disconnected, this episode might reveal why and inspire you to honestly love yourself.Remember: telling the truth isn't about sharing every secret, it's about staying rooted in what's real.
