Matt Hoffman on Summer of Stein Big Brother 28 Week 7 Watch the podcast on YouTube! Big Brother 28's house is a mess of shifting loyalties as the Summer of Stein series rolls on, with Eric Stein hosting this recap episode joined by guest Matt Hoffman. The Icons—especially HoH Dee—call the shots this week, pushing the house into new turmoil as alliances fracture and the newbies consider whether to challenge the status quo or stick with the power players. Dee takes control as HoH and surprises everyone by nominating her own allies, creating confusion and making the newbies even more nervous. She throws out plans to target Drew and Mallory, and uses a bribe to get Yash's future protection, tying his hands for the next round. The rest of the house, like Barrett and Mallory, seem unable to capitalize on opportunities, even throwing the HoH comp rather than seizing power themselves. The infamous “Booty Scooty 1000” brings comic relief, and dramatic house meetings see Lala and the rest doubling down on far-fetched stories. Pop-in guests from past seasons drop by, sharing stories and adding to the chaos and nostalgia. Matt points out that throwing HoH comps to the Icons is a fatal rookie mistake and questions why the newbies keep empowering the vets. Eric critiques Dee's choice to attack her own numbers, suggesting she's more interested in having fun than playing strict strategy now that she's already a reality TV winner. The hosts highlight Mallory’s emotional diary room blowup as one of the rawest moments of the season. The “Booty Scooty 1000” comp gets laughs, with both hosts noting how far houseguests will go for airtime—and how weirdly the show mixes kid sponsors with not-so-family-friendly comps. Can the newbies rally to actually take a shot at the Icons, or will they keep playing it safe until they're picked off? Listen to the full episode for all the breakdowns and surprises. The James Altucher Show
How You Get Rich Isn't How You Stay Rich: 300 Years of Proof | Joseph Moore

    The James Altucher Show

A Note from James:In 1790, one of the easiest ways to get rich in America was the old-fashioned way: marry someone rich.George Washington did pretty well that way. Benjamin Franklin, meanwhile, was so deep in debt that he offered to marry a woman if her parents would mortgage their house to pay off his printing press debt. When they said no, he married someone else who had money. And back then, debt was not just annoying. It could land you in debtor's prison. Actual prison. And not just you—your wife and kids could go too.Fast-forward to the 1900s, and most Americans still were not buying stocks. Only a tiny percentage owned shares. Everyday people were gambling, playing the numbers, using dream-interpretation books to decide what lottery number to play, and trying to find some edge that would move them a little closer to security. My guest today, Joseph Moore, literally wrote the book on this: How to Get Rich in American History: 300 Years of Financial Advice That Worked (& Didn't).The book is full of strange, funny, surprising stories about money in America: Franklin, Washington, debtor's prison, the Great Depression, bucket shops, real estate booms, FIRE, crypto, debt, index funds, and all the scams people keep falling for.But the bigger lesson is that the basic patterns have not changed as much as we think.People want security. People want freedom. People want hope. People want a way out. And whenever there is hope, there is usually someone selling a formula.Joseph has very little patience for the usual personal finance myths. Debt does not make you rich. Opportunity makes you rich. Real estate is not always a magic wealth machine. The stock market was not designed to be everyone's retirement plan. FIRE can work, but it can also become the CrossFit of personal finance. And optimism, marriage, mobility, risk, and solving other people's problems may matter more than almost anything else.If you think the rules for getting rich have changed completely, this conversation may convince you how little human nature has changed.Episode Description:Joseph Moore joins James to talk about the long, strange history of getting rich in America. His book, How to Get Rich in American History, looks at 300 years of financial advice—what worked, what failed, what people kept repeating, and what today's money culture keeps forgetting. The conversation starts in 1790, with George Washington, Martha Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Stephen Girard, debt, leverage, and debtor's prison. Joseph explains that many early American fortunes were built through risk, borrowed money, marriage, luck, and then—critically—de-leveraging over time. That becomes one of the core lessons of the episode: debt does not make people rich. Opportunity does. Debt is only a tool that allows someone to grab more of an opportunity than they otherwise could. But if the opportunity is not real, or the person cannot handle the risk, debt destroys them.James and Joseph then move into real estate. Joseph argues that real estate is a good way to build a modest middle-class fortune, but not usually the path to the biggest fortunes. In modern America, he says, real estate often functions as a short on the dollar, an income annuity in a low-dividend world, a tax shelter, and a way for ordinary people to use leverage they could not access anywhere else. But that does not make buying a house automatically smart. Renting versus buying depends on age, mobility, location, family needs, inflation, taxes, maintenance, transaction costs, and opportunity cost. The conversation then turns to the stock market. Joseph challenges the usual historical charts that claim anyone could have invested a fixed sum in 1929 and held forever. Most Americans could not invest that way. There were no index funds, mutual funds had high fees, and buying an index directly required enormous capital. Instead, everyday people went to bucket shops, bet on price moves, played the numbers, and treated gambling as a kind of financial hope.James and Joseph also discuss passive investing, shadow indexing, the rise of ETFs and 401(k)s, and the way the stock market has become a mass retirement promise. Joseph points out that this is historically new. For most of American history, no ordinary person would have expected to retire on the stock market. From there, the episode moves to FIRE: financial independence, retire early. Joseph has lived part of that story himself. He built enough wealth through rental real estate after 2008 to stop working for a period, only to discover that early retirement was not automatically fulfilling. He compares FIRE to CrossFit: extreme, demanding, sometimes powerful, sometimes injurious, and not a lifestyle most people actually want. The final section asks the big question: What has consistently worked?Joseph boils the lessons down to five pillars: solve other people's problems, take risks, move toward opportunity, marry well, and believe you can. James adds that optimism matters because it keeps people in the game long enough to get more shots on goal. The result is a conversation about money, but also about history, risk, luck, marriage, mobility, discipline, scams, and the difference between getting rich and staying rich. What You'll Learn:Why early American wealth often involved marriage, leverage, luck, and risk. How George Washington's marriage to Martha helped fund the Washington we remember. Why Benjamin Franklin's public advice about debt did not match his own early financial behavior. What debtor's prison meant in early America, including the risk to families. Why debt is a tool, not a wealth strategy by itself. Why opportunity—not debt—is what actually makes people rich. Why real estate can build middle-class wealth but rarely creates the biggest fortunes. How buying a home can reduce mobility and opportunity, especially for younger people. Why renting versus buying is situational, not a universal rule. Why most Americans historically could not invest in the stock market the way modern charts imply. What bucket shops and “the numbers” reveal about everyday financial hope. How passive investing changed the purpose of the stock market. Why stock-market concentration is not new, but mass participation is.Why FIRE can work mathematically and still fail psychologically. How older financial-independence stories often hid trust funds, inheritances, or outside support. Why inflation is one of the biggest risks to early retirement. Why getting rich and staying rich require different behavior. Why successful people often take risk early and reduce risk later. Why optimism is financially useful when it keeps people in the game. The five recurring pillars Joseph sees across American wealth-building history.Timestamped Chapters:[05:00] How to Get Rich in 1790James asks Joseph how someone got rich in early America, starting with George Washington, Martha Washington, and marriage as a financial strategy.[07:24] Stephen Girard and Benjamin Franklin's DebtJoseph compares Stephen Girard's leveraged rise with Franklin's messy early business debts.[10:29] Debt Does Not Make You RichJoseph explains that opportunity creates wealth, while debt simply lets someone reach for more of that opportunity.[11:23] Debtor's Prison Was RealJoseph explains why failing in the 1790s could mean prison not only for the debtor, but for the debtor's family.[12:25] The Real Estate MythJoseph argues that real estate can build modest wealth, but rarely creates the biggest fortunes.[13:43] Real Estate as a Short on the DollarJoseph explains modern real estate as an inflation bet, income annuity, tax shelter, and leverage tool.[15:22] You Need an EdgeJames argues that every bet has someone on the other side, which means investors need to know what their advantage actually is.[16:18] Beating the Market, Missing the MomentJoseph tells the story of shorting Jim Cramer stock pops, beating the market net of theory, losing to fees, and missing his daughter's first steps.[19:56] Shadow Passive InvestingJames and Joseph discuss hedge funds, index tracking, fees, and the way much of Wall Street quietly follows the same big benchmarks.[20:31] The Index RevolutionJoseph explains why Vanguard's 1976 index fund changed investing for ordinary Americans—and why passive investing may create new structural risks.[24:24] The Four Percent of Stocks That MatterJames and Joseph discuss stock-market returns, T-bills, concentration, and why a small number of companies drive most gains.[25:16] The Second Bank CrashJoseph compares modern market concentration to the 1830s, when the Second Bank of the United States made up a huge share of the stock market before collapsing.[26:21] The Stock Market as a Retirement PromiseJoseph explains why turning the stock market into a mass retirement strategy is historically new.[29:58] The Problem With “The Chart”Joseph criticizes the classic financial-advisor chart that assumes someone in 1929 invested a large sum, held forever, and never touched it.[31:17] Bucket Shops and Playing the NumbersJoseph explains how everyday people used gambling, bucket shops, and lottery-like games as financial hope when stock ownership was out of reach.[34:04] The Mean Moves Through TimeJoseph explains why history is not physics and why the “average” keeps changing as the economy changes.[35:49] Renting vs. BuyingJames and Joseph debate the homeownership myth, maintenance, taxes, transaction costs, mobility, family stability, and when buying can make sense.[41:02] FIRE and the Question of EnoughJames asks how much is enough in 2026, and Joseph explains why the answer depends on location, expectations, security, and lifestyle.[44:24] FIRE as the CrossFit of Personal FinanceJoseph compares FIRE to an extreme discipline that can work for some people but injure others if they push too hard.[45:38] Geoarbitrage and Selling the DreamJames and Joseph discuss moving somewhere cheaper, Instagram FIRE influencers, and the difference between living the dream and monetizing the dream.[46:00] The Long History of Financial IndependenceJoseph traces earlier versions of FIRE through Sylvester Judd, Thoreau, Emerson, and Helen and Scott Nearing.[49:17] Inflation and the FIRE RiskJoseph explains how Your Money or Your Life and bond-heavy financial independence strategies ran into changing interest-rate realities.[50:23] Five Pillars of Getting RichJoseph lays out the durable lessons: solve problems, take risks, move more, marry well, and believe you can.[53:43] Marriage, Optimism, and Staying in the GameJames and Joseph talk about supportive partnership, optimism, savings discipline, and why staying in the game increases opportunity.[56:11] The Line Between Optimism and RecklessnessJoseph distinguishes productive optimism from gambling and explains why control over outcomes matters.[58:28] Getting Rich vs. Staying RichJoseph explains why many wealthy people take risk early, then de-lever over time to keep what they built.[01:00:00] Leverage, Trading, and the Guy Who Never StopsJames and Joseph discuss extreme leverage, Bitcoin futures, Jesse Livermore, gamblers, and why some people cannot walk away.Additional Resources:Joseph Moore - History HelpsHow to Get Rich in American History - Book PageHow to Get Rich in American Listener Q&A, covering nine different questions/topics from building bike power as a runner and a collegiate swimmer moving back into triathlon, through what actually makes us fatigue during a threshold effort, to swimskins, power duration curves and lots more. We do listener Q&As monthly, the last Thursday every month. HIGHLIGHTS AND KEY TOPICS: Building the bike as a runner: why heart rate sits lower on the bike than on the run, whether that gap matters, and what it says about where the limiter is. Plus how to use a daily 20 km ride towing a 25 kg dog trailer. A 193 cm, 100 kg collegiate swimmer moving back into triathlon: the engine-stronger-than-the-chassis problem, a run progression specified down to the minute, and why Mikael gets more conservative every time he coaches this profile. Why the maximal lactate steady state is a steady state for lactate and not for the whole body, what keeps drifting while lactate holds flat, and what one study found when it looked for the system that fails at exhaustion. How long you can actually hold MLSS, against the 40 minutes the question assumed, how much that varies between athletes, and where critical power sits relative to it. Swimskins: whether they give you any of the buoyancy a wetsuit does, the performance, drag and energy cost numbers from the closest pool research, and the thing that matters more than the brand and price tag. Whether a swimskin does more for a fast swimmer or a slow one. Reading your own power duration curve with nobody to compare against: the TrainingPeaks chart to start from, why a flat profile means something different for a triathlete than a cyclist, and Strava as a stand-in database. Mikael's W' bands for male and female age group triathletes, on record for the first time, plus the critical power ratio from close to a hundred of his own athletes' tests. Quickfire round on altitude, heat and the CORE sensor, run volume by intensity, and vegan nutrition. There is an entire content industry built on "biblical archaeology" right now — TV shows, YouTube channels, the House of David series on Amazon, all of it running on big Nephilim energy. Cynthia Shafer-Elliott does not watch any of it, because it makes her yell at the screen. (Her husband, however, likes to watch her watch it.) She is a professor of Hebrew Bible at Baylor and an actual field archaeologist, and here is what she would rather you get excited about: in one of her first seasons at Tel Rehov, in a square she had been working, they found hundreds of ceramic beehives — industrial apiaries. Which means the land of milk and honey had actual honey. Not date syrup, not wild honey. Real, farmed, bee-produced honey. She also personally uncovered a household shrine with a lion's face carved into it, tongue out, human faces cowering under its paws. That one is in the Israel Museum now, and she says hello to it whenever she visits. We got into what "back in Bible times" and "biblical worldview" actually obscure, what household archaeology reveals about women's authority that the text buries, why ancient Israelite religion should always be plural, why lentils deserve more respect than they get, and yes — the residue analysis at Arad confirming THC at an official Israelite worship site. She is one of the four Bible Divas, and all four are coming to Theology Beer Camp. You can WATCH the conversation on YouTube About our guest Dr. Cynthia Shafer-Elliott is Professor of Hebrew Bible at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, in the religion department. She holds her PhD from the University of Sheffield, where she studied with Philip Davies, and specializes in Iron Age archaeology of ancient Israel and Judah with sub-specialties in household archaeology, food, and gender. She has excavated at Tel Rehov, Tell Halif, and currently at Tel Abel Beth Maacah in northern Israel — the site of the wise woman of Abel in 2 Samuel 20, who talks a general out of destroying a city. Welcome back to our REWIND series! Christi and Kelly are going back through the archive, re-editing, and re-uploading our old episodes — in order, from the very beginning of Dance Moms. This week, they're taking a break between seasons to tell the REAL story of how Dance Moms began. Before the show became Dance Moms, before the pyramid became infamous, and before six episodes turned into a full-blown pop culture machine, Christi and Kelly thought they were signing up for something much smaller. Looking back now, they can see all the warning signs they missed, all the chaos that was already building, and how quickly a little dance show from Pittsburgh turned into something none of them could control.Dance Moms fans will love this wacky origin story! We originally aired this episode back in 2022, but it's been re-edited specifically for video!Welcome to Back to the Barre, the ultimate podcast channel where Kelly Hyland and Christi Lukasiak from Dance Moms spill the tea, share the laughs, and take you behind the scenes of your favorite reality TV moments!

The conversation also touches on the impact of arrogance in the martial arts community and the responsibility of instructors to foster a healthy environment for students. Ultimately, the episode emphasizes the need for open discussions about confidence and self-evaluation within martial arts schools.   TAKEAWAYS Confidence is often misunderstood in martial arts. There is a difference between confidence and ego. True confidence is quiet and calm. Learning through failure is essential for growth. Arrogance can stem from a lack of self-esteem. Instructors have a responsibility to check arrogance. Discussion is key in martial arts schools. Real confidence often looks a lot quieter. Engaging with the community helps build confidence. This one comes from our second annual Partners Month, and re-listening to it gave us all the warm and fuzzies all over again. Chrissy and Bill Lankford, known to the community as Team Mr and Mrs B, join us to talk about swimrun as both life partners and race partners. They found the sport through the Toadman World Series, a set of local races near their home in Cambridge, then worked their way through the Isle of Scilly and Rockman before deciding to take on the ÖTILLÖ World Championship, a huge jump in distance and duration from what they had raced before. We get into how they trained with almost no access to real swimrun terrain, how they communicate and lean on each other when a race gets hard, the mantras that carry them through the tough stretches, and the hip flexor injury Bill raced through after a rough transition. We also talk gear, wetsuits, transitions, and their ongoing effort to bring more people into the sport. Bill and Chrissy have since gone on to race multiple ÖTILLÖ World Championships, Rockman, and ÖTILLÖ Öland together. Real gems of humans, and a conversation worth revisiting. Enjoy! ~~~ That's it for this week's show. Armin Winkler (renowned detection dog trainer, international expert) and Cameron Ford break down why current K9 certification standards don't actually validate operational readiness. They discuss why training records matter more than certifications in court, why everyone trains for the test instead of the job, and what real operational readiness actually looks like. What We Cover:Certification is department CYA, not a measure of reliabilityDetection dogs should have OPERATIONAL standards, not minimum standardsTraining records with proper documentation beat certifications in court every timeWhy observers/supervisors signing off on training matters more than a piece of paperRunning multiple dogs in same area: nasal secretions and saliva contaminate everythingThe "cheat code" dogs use when training mimics certificationHow evaluators inadvertently give away test locations through nonverbal communicationWhy environmental soundness testing is critical (traffic, noise, distractions)The difference between ORT (odor recognition test) and operational readinessLottery-based scenario testing instead of rote certification patternsHandler decision-making: the most untested aspect of any certificationWhy SEAL Teams didn't certify but had real resultsTraining for certification vs. training for the street (these are NOT the same)Real-world deployment: rain, night, roadside traffic stopsHide placement strategy: hide like a criminal, not in filing cabinetsThe handler's job: watch the DOG, not the room ("the nose nose")The avalanche dog that found both victims but failed certificationWhy handlers don't see their dogs during searches (looking for hide locations instead)Apprehension dog certification problems (false sits, stress on one-day tests)Free air sniff legality: roadside delays = searches, not free sniffsInternational perspectives: Norway military working dogs, customs operationsThe problem with "master trainer" guru cultureSupervision and training records as alternative to certificationScenario-based training in real conditions (using cooperating officers)Why some agencies (LAPD) use OJT/FTO model instead of certification gatesThe risk of certification standards creating liability instead of protectionArmin draws on decades of experience working detection dogs internationally, including military operations, customs, search and rescue, and avalanche response. He challenges the industry's comfort with certification-based standards and advocates for documentation, supervision, and scenario-based operational testing.Critical Takeaway: "If you're afraid of rewarding the wrong thing during testing, you're not ready to test. You have a bigger problem than that moment."________________________________________

Discover how Animal Reiki teaches us to heal our perceived separation from nature and step back into the sacred circle of life. In this session, Robyn and Colleen Benelli explore how working with animal energy guides us into deep belonging, human acceptance, and community reciprocity. Learn how to shift your perspective from dominion over to communion with and create meaningful solutions from a foundation of love. Join the animals in the circle of life. Key Insights: Healing Human Separation: Animal Reiki is not merely about sending energy to pets; it is a profound mirror that heals our learned cultural isolation from the Earth, restoring our awareness that humans are an equal part of the ecosystem. Belonging in Human Form: Many spiritual practitioners, starseeds, and intuitives find it easy to love nature but struggle to accept humanity. Real healing happens when we extend compassion to our own human nature, physical bodies, and local communities. The Reciprocity of Creation: The circle of life has no hierarchy, no top and no bottom. Moving from the illusion of dominion over into mutual exchange allows us to solve problems from a new level of consciousness rooted in love. Honoring Natural Rhythms: Just as animals choose proximity or distance based on their present needs, we must honor our boundaries without guilt, asking Reiki to bridge the gap when we feel out of alignment.   People Also Ask (FAQ) What can Animal Reiki teach us about human belonging? Animal Reiki reveals that humans are inherently part of the natural ecosystem rather than separate observers. By attuning to animal and plant frequencies, we release collective judgment and remember our place of mutual reciprocity within the circle of life. How does Reiki help heal feelings of spiritual disconnection? Reiki bridges the gap between your divine spiritual consciousness and your earthly human experience. It dissolves subconscious barriers of isolation, enabling you to embrace your physical humanness while remaining grounded in higher frequencies. Why is reciprocity important in energy healing with nature? True energy healing operates as a continuous giving and receiving exchange. When we honor the unique contributions of plants, animals, and human communities, we co-create solutions from love and balance rather than control or scarcity. I want to alert you, so you don’t miss out on expert analysis and insider perspectives from my guests who provide tips that can help you uplift the community, improve your financial planning, motivation, or advice on how to be a successful entrepreneur. Keep winning! Two-time Emmy and Three-time NAACP Image Award-winning, television Executive Producer Rushion McDonald interviewed Attorney S. Diane Clair. A Georgia-based attorney, real estate law professor at Kennesaw State University, and founder of a law practice specializing in real estate, estate planning, probate, business, and contract law. The discussion focuses on wealth building through real estate investing, asset protection, and estate planning strategies for generational wealth. Purpose of the Interview The primary purpose of the interview was to: Educate listeners about real estate investing opportunities, including lesser-known strategies such as tax liens and tax deeds. [ Stress the importance of working with qualified legal professionals instead of relying on Google, social media, AI tools, or generic legal templates. [ Promote wealth preservation through estate planning, particularly trusts and business structures. [ Encourage minority communities to create estate plans and pass wealth to future generations. [ Key Takeaways 1. Don't Rely Solely on Google, Social Media, or AI for Legal Advice Clair warns that many individuals attempt to create wills, trusts, and legal documents online without professional guidance. She emphasizes that legal matters require experienced attorneys because AI and internet sources may provide incomplete or incorrect information. Why it Matters Legal mistakes can create costly problems later. AI-generated content can be inaccurate. Estate planning and real estate transactions require professional review. 2. Real Estate Is a Powerful Wealth-Building Tool Clair argues that real estate remains one of the strongest ways to build and transfer wealth between generations. She highlights its relative stability compared to stock market fluctuations. Benefits Mentioned Builds long-term wealth Generates passive income Creates assets that can be inherited Helps achieve financial freedom [ 3. Start Real Estate Investing Through a Business Entity One of Clair's first recommendations is to establish a legal business structure before purchasing investment properties. Recommended Structures LLC Corporation Other formal business entities [ She repeatedly stresses that investment assets ideally should not be owned in an individual's personal name. 4. You Don't Need Large Amounts of Money to Invest A major myth she debunks is that real estate investing requires significant capital. Entry-Level Strategies Tax liens Tax deeds Foreclosure purchases Fix-and-flip projects Rental properties [ According to Clair, investors can begin with relatively small amounts by purchasing tax liens and earning interest when property owners redeem them. [ 5. Estate Planning Is Largely Ignored Clair shares a startling statistic: Approximately 64% of Americans do not have an estate plan. Among minorities, that number rises to about 70%. [ She believes the problem is educational rather than financial, noting that even wealthy celebrities frequently fail to plan their estates. 6. Trusts Are Better Than Wills for Many Situations Clair strongly favors trusts, especially irrevocable trusts, as vehicles for preserving wealth. Advantages of Trusts Avoid probate Potential tax benefits Asset protection Easier transfer of wealth Can operate while the creator is still alive Difference Between a Will and a Trust Will Takes effect after death Goes through probate court Directs distribution of assets Trust Can function during the owner's lifetime Avoids probate Can provide stronger protection and tax advantages [ 7. Asset Protection Is Essential Clair explains that trusts can own: Real estate Bank accounts Businesses Investments Other valuable assets Because the trust, rather than the individual, owns the property, there can be additional protection from lawsuits and claims. Notable Quotes On Legal Services Beyond Personal Injury Law "You can hire lawyers for way more, and we can assist you in way more." [ On Using AI for Legal Matters "AI is not really something you want to trust... It creates and makes up stuff." [ On Professional Guidance "You want to book a consultation with an attorney." On Real Estate Investing "A lot of people have that misconception that you have to have a lot of money to start investing in real estate, and that's not true." On Generational Wealth "Real estate is something that is the best thing to invest in and pass down to future generations." [ On Estate Planning "This is not a money thing... It's an education thing." [ On Trusts "The best estate planning instrument is always going to be a trust." On Asset Ownership "Don't have anything in your own name, have it in the name of the trust or in the business." Overall Message Attorney Diane Clair's central message is that wealth creation and wealth preservation must work together. Building assets through real estate is important, but equally important is protecting those assets through proper business structures, trusts, estate planning, and professional legal guidance. The interview encourages listeners, especially entrepreneurs and minority communities, to think long term about generational wealth, asset protection, and financial legacy rather than short-term gains. With more than 25,000 hours of client experience, David explains hypnosis not as mind control, but as intense internal focus that helps people create new emotional resources, break old patterns, and see themselves differently.David shares how a childhood visit to a county fair hypnotist sparked a lifelong obsession with the mind, eventually leading him to build successful hypnosis practices and work with clients on smoking cessation, anxiety, confidence, weight loss, and peak performance. He also breaks down common myths about hypnosis, the difference between hypnosis and meditation, why Hollywood often gets it wrong, and how athletes use altered states and alter egos to perform at elite levels. The conversation also explores David's powerful view of discipline: valuing your future self over your present self. What do you do when your body says, “Ouch”? Do you immediately stop because you're afraid something is wrong? Or do you ignore it, push through, and hope it goes away? Pain can feel scary and confusing—especially when you're trying to heal, get stronger, or return to activities you love. But pain isn't always a simple stop sign. Pain is communication. And communication needs interpretation. In this episode, we're talking about shifting the way we respond to pain. Instead of immediately fearing it or ignoring it, what if we learned to get curious about what our bodies are trying to tell us? Because listening to your body doesn't always mean stopping. Sometimes it means adjusting. Sometimes it means resting. Sometimes it means getting help. And sometimes it means realizing you're okay to keep going. In This Episode We Explore Why we tend to either fear pain or ignore it Why pain doesn't always equal damage How factors beyond an injury can influence the pain experience Why the behavior of your pain can give you useful information Questions to ask yourself when something hurts The difference between normal exercise challenge and ignoring your body's signals A simple green-light, yellow-light, red-light way to think about symptoms How modifying a movement can help you learn more about what your body needs Why connection and body awareness can build confidence instead of fear Why This Matters When something hurts, it's easy to immediately think: “Something is wrong.” But it's also easy to swing too far in the opposite direction and decide: “I'll just push through it.” Neither response leaves much room for listening. Learning to pay attention to what you're feeling, when you're feeling it, how long it lasts, and what changes it can help you make more intentional decisions about movement. The goal isn't to become afraid of every sensation. And it isn't to ignore your body's signals in the name of getting stronger. It's learning the difference between challenging your body and ignoring your body. The Big Takeaway The next time something hurts during movement, instead of immediately asking: “Is this bad?” Try asking: “What is my body asking me to notice right now?” Then: Pause. Notice. Adjust. Reassess. Maybe your body needs you to change the range, load, speed, position, or breath. Maybe it needs recovery. Maybe it needs professional evaluation. Or maybe after checking in, you realize you're okay to continue. Listening doesn't always mean stopping. It means responding. And the better you become at listening, the more confidently you can make decisions about your body. Ready to Understand the Bigger Picture? If you've been listening to the last few episodes, you're probably noticing a theme: I don't want you endlessly searching for someone to give you the perfect exercise. I want you to understand the body you're actually living in. That's a huge reason I created Healing Beyond Kegels. Pelvic floor symptoms aren't simply problems we throw exercises at. Your breath, pressure, core, movement, strength, stress, nervous system, and the rest of your body are all part of the conversation. Healing Beyond Kegels is designed to help you zoom out, connect those dots, and start understanding your body differently. It's coming soon, and I can't wait to share it with you. Until then, remember: Connection first. Intention over perfection.

Argentina before Milei: decades of economic self-sabotage Argentina wasn't a poor country that suddenly discovered poverty. It was once one of the world's wealthiest economies. The long-term problem was a political-economic model that repeatedly combined huge government spending, deficits, monetary financing, price and currency controls, protectionism, subsidies, and increasingly heavy regulation. By the time Javier Milei won in November 2023, the accumulated damage was extraordinary: Inflation had moved into triple-digit territory.  The government was running large fiscal deficits.  Foreign-exchange reserves were depleted.  Argentina had multiple exchange rates and extensive currency controls.  The central bank's balance sheet had deteriorated badly.  Importers were accumulating commercial debt because dollars weren't available.  Real wages had collapsed.  Poverty had climbed above 45%.  Argentina was already deeply entangled with the IMF.  The IMF's description of the situation inherited by Milei is unusually blunt: "dangerously acute" imbalances and distortions, resulting from inconsistent and expansionary policies.  That's the environment in which Milei's message of burn down the economic establishment resonated. He wasn't elected because Argentines suddenly became libertarian philosophers. They had lived through enough economic dysfunction that the political equivalent of throwing a brick through the window started looking attractive. What Milei actually did Milei came in December 2023 and immediately attacked the core problem: government spending and monetary disorder. His government imposed severe fiscal discipline, reduced subsidies and spending, deregulated portions of the economy, loosened trade restrictions and foreign-exchange controls, and pursued monetary stabilization. And, importantly, it hurt initially. But the macroeconomic results have been striking. Kevin Jackson has been called, the "white-collar" Joe Rogan. "I'm too set in my ways." You've said it. I've said it. And it sounds like a man who finally knows himself. It's a lie, and your own brain proves it. In this Wednesday Special Edition, I take apart one of the most comfortable excuses people give for why they've stopped growing: you can't teach an old dog new tricks. I start with the settled brain science. Neuroplasticity proves your capacity to learn and change doesn't shut off at thirty, or fifty, or seventy. Your brain rewires itself in response to demand for your entire life. So if the capacity is there, and it is, then the question was never whether you can learn. The question is why you don't. That's where a professor named Howard McClusky comes in. Decades before anyone had proven neuroplasticity was real, he figured out the actual reason adults stop learning, and he called it the Theory of Margin. Every one of us carries a Load and holds a certain amount of Power, and margin is what's left over. When your Load swallows your Power, you don't learn anything new. Not because you can't, but because there's no room left in the container. I walk through why "that's just how I am" is a golden cage that protects the load you built yourself, and I give you a practical fix to start clearing space: an open cycles inventory you can do this week with a legal pad. The Math of Marketing: George Khachatryan on Reinforcement Learning and AI Personalization

Anika sat down with George Khachatryan to explore the evolving landscape of AI-driven marketing, personalization, and the massive trust gap currently sitting between brands and consumers. The conversation revealed a counterintuitive truth: while 93% of marketing leaders believe AI helps them understand their customers, only 53% of consumers agree. George's unique journey—from earning a PhD in mathematics at Cornell and building an early ed-tech AI company to founding OfferFit and navigating its $325M acquisition by Braze—offered a practical look at how reinforcement learning and predictive data science are permanently replacing the manual grind of traditional A/B testing. In This Episode How a background in mathematics and early intelligent tutoring systems laid the groundwork for complex AI architectures. Stepping away from specialized tech to learn foundational company building through management consulting and operational transformations. Moving beyond rigid "Next Best Action" rules to autonomous reinforcement learning agents that experiment at the individual customer level. The strategic decision behind merging OfferFit with Braze in a $325M deal and why deep data science and engineering alignment matters. Why hidden bots, lack of transparency, and mismatched brand expectations are eroding consumer confidence. Blending predictive machine learning models (for timing and offers) with LLM agentic copy generation for maximum impact. Why students and early-career marketers must embrace AI literacy to stay competitive in a rapidly shifting job market. Timestamps 00:00 Introduction: The math, the $325M exit, and the AI trust gap 02:00 From Cornell mathematics and early ed-tech to management consulting 04:18 The limitations of traditional "Next Best Action" and the birth of reinforcement learning 09:22 Real-world personalization: How brands like Yum Brands optimize customer engagement 12:39 The acquisition journey: Why OfferFit chose to integrate with Braze 16:53 The 93% vs. 53% problem: Why consumers feel misunderstood by brands 20:41 Hybrid AI systems: Stitching together LLM copywriting and statistical decisioning 23:33 The personal cost of a "Sydney is just a bot" moment: The importance of transparency 28:32 The reality of enterprise caution vs. consumer expectations 29:56 Agentic commerce and the future of bot-to-bot interactions 34:39 Managing negotiation bots and complex consumer retention scenarios 37:25 Generational divides: Gen Z's dual relationship with AI adoption and career anxiety 40:59 Lessons for founders: Aligning philosophical visions before a merger 43:35 Final thoughts: Embracing the historic and fascinating shift in marketing technology Key Insights & Takeaways Insight 1: Personalization Requires True One-to-One Experimentation Traditional marketing relies on segmenting audiences and applying rigid, rule-based logic. True optimization requires reinforcement learning agents that operate at the individual customer level, autonomously testing variables like messaging, timing, and offers to discover what drives incremental engagement. Insight 2: The Danger of Hidden Bots and Broken Trust Consumers do not mind interacting with AI or automated tools, but they expect transparency. When a brand masks an AI agent as a human—and fails to take responsibility for its actions—it creates a deep sense of betrayal that permanently damages customer loyalty. Insight 3: The Power of Hybrid AI Infrastructure The most effective marketing systems do not rely on a single flavor of AI. Combining statistical reinforcement learning (to determine when and what to communicate) with LLM agentic text generation (to personalize how it is phrased) yields performance lifts of over 100%. Insight 4: Shared Vision is the Anchor of Any Successful Acquisition For founders navigating a potential exit, technical integration is only half the battle. Long-term success relies on frank, open discussions about philosophical alignment, shared visions, and mutual risk mitigation before signing a deal. Insight 5: Enterprise Caution vs. Consumer Speed While marketers are often bogged down by internal alignment and slow decision-making processes, consumers are interacting with cutting-edge AI tools daily. Brands that fail to bridge this expectation gap risk becoming obsolete. Have you ever hit every single goal you set out for yourself and still felt completely empty inside? That's the exact moment I found myself in years ago, staring at a stack of investor paperwork worth millions, and I couldn't sign it. I was recently interviewed by Eric Berman on Inside The Speakeasy. It was a great experience! We discuss my journey from extreme burnout to creating a life centered around freedom, fulfillment, and intentional success. Inside The Speakeasy, hosted by Eric Berman, gives entrepreneurs, founders, marketers, and creators an inside look at what it really takes to build and scale a successful business. Each episode features candid conversations with ambitious leaders who share the strategies, lessons, failures, and breakthroughs that shaped their journey. From startup growth and marketing execution to leadership and innovation, guests reveal what is actually working in today's business landscape. If you're ready to think bigger, take smarter risks, and accelerate your growth, pull up a chair and step Inside The Speakeasy. In this conversation, Eric and I got real about what it actually costs to grind your way to the top. I told him the story of building a tech startup in New York City in my early twenties, working over a hundred hours a week, running on four or five hours of sleep, and finally landing seven figure funding deals with partnerships tied to companies like Microsoft and IBM. On paper, I had made it. In my gut, I was smoked. My brother and I sat in our tiny apartment in Queens and ripped up the paperwork instead of signing it. That decision changed the entire direction of my life. We talked about why so many high performing entrepreneurs are optimizing every part of their business while completely neglecting the systems that support their own happiness. It's easy to build a scoreboard for revenue and totally forget to build one for your own peace. That's actually the question I think every entrepreneur needs to sit with. Are you chasing your own definition of success, or somebody else's? I chased someone else's for a long time, and it nearly cost me everything that actually mattered. One of the bigger things we got into is what I call the more disease. It's this constant craving for more money, more status, more followers, more stuff, and it infects high performers especially hard because we're wired to always push for the next level. The cure isn't actually more. It's contentment. Getting crystal clear on what you truly want and then practicing real gratitude for it, that's what breaks the cycle. Success without fulfillment is a trap, and I've watched it swallow people who look like they have everything. We also dug into digital overload, and honestly this one hits people harder than they realize. Constant screens, constant notifications, constant comparison, it quietly wrecks your happiness, your focus, and your relationships without you even noticing it happening. I shared some of the simple habits I use to fight it, like keeping the first and last thirty minutes of my day completely screen free. And we talked about growth. Real growth doesn't happen by accident. It takes consistent investment, reading in the morning, listening to something good in the afternoon, watching something educational at night. Small, repeatable habits stacked on top of each other over time. That's the whole game. If any of this is landing for you, do yourself a favor and go listen to the full conversation with Eric on Inside The Speakeasy. What if the biggest threat to your wealth isn't how much you make—but what you were never taught about keeping, protecting, and multiplying it?Marvin Mitchell returns to Inside the Vault with Ash Cash to break down the wealth strategies most people never learn in school, at work, or from the traditional financial system. After more than 20 years as a financial advisor, Marvin says the biggest shift is not always learning something new—it's unlearning the financial habits that keep people retirement rich but cash poor.In this episode, Marvin breaks down the difference between a debtor, saver, and wealth creator; why your money can't grow beyond your mindset; how wealthy people use leverage instead of constantly liquidating assets; and why high earners can still struggle with lifestyle creep. He also opens up about receiving a $1.3 million tax bill and says that after investing in high-level tax expertise, he was able to reduce the bill to under $200,000. Then the conversation turns to AI.Marvin says his coaching business generated $12 million without a single U.S. employee—using AI and overseas team members to keep payroll low while scaling operations. He explains why entrepreneurs should learn tools like ChatGPT, Grok and Perplexity, and why AI should be treated as an amplifier for your knowledge instead of just a shortcut. Marvin and Ash also discuss mentorship, real estate tax strategies, trusts, estate planning, infinite banking, protecting wealth across generations, and why the answer to your next level may not be “how”—it may be “who.”Learn more from Marvin: Instagram: @marvinmitchellofficial TransformYourWealthChallenge.comInside the Vault: @insidethevault InsideTheVaultShow.comHost: @iamashcash IAmAshCash.comABUNDANCE IS YOUR BIRTHRIGHT.Join Ash Cash and a community focused on building wealth, increasing income, strengthening your mindset, and creating a more abundant life:TheAbundanceCommunity.comTIMESTAMPS00:00 – AI, leverage & the wealth rules nobody teaches 02:17 – Welcome to Inside the Vault 03:23 – Marvin returns after the viral infinite banking episode 04:50 – Who is Marvin Mitchell? 05:48 – What people need to unlearn about money 07:13 – Retirement rich but cash poor 09:01 – Debtor, saver or wealth creator? 10:06 – The 3 money identities 11:05 – Opportunity cost & making money work multiple times 12:06 – Lifestyle creep 12:30 – Budget vs. spending plan 13:14 – Foundation, core & speculative wealth 13:48 – Emergency funds, insurance & protection 14:17 – Building the “boring” core 15:02 – Why YOU are the best investment 16:21 – Can you inherit wealth and keep it? 17:01 – Your money cannot grow beyond your mindset 18:35 – “If you want more, be more” 19:27 – How the IRS can destroy wealth 20:18 – Marvin's $1.3M tax bill 21:41 – Cutting $1.3M to under $200K 22:17 – What schools and jobs don't teach you 23:30 – Why Marvin believes in investing in mentorship 24:00 – The $80 paycheck that changed his thinking 25:10 – $100K mentorships and million-dollar returns 26:03 – The parable of the talents 27:23 – Why the master was the real wealth creator 28:27 – The answer isn't “how”—it's “who” 29:18 – How to avoid fake gurus 30:29 – Look at the fruit AND the infrastructure 31:59 – Should you pay for mentorship? 33:00 – Marvin's mission to become the “Black Dave Ramsey” 33:58 – The Transform Your Wealth Challenge 34:13 – Wealthy people leverage instead of liquidate 34:34 – Real estate tax strategies & cost segregation 35:16 – How the 5-day challenge works 42:54 – Giraffes, turtles & protecting big dreams 44:24 – How to take advantage of the wealth transfer 44:32 – Learn AI 45:02 – Using AI as employees 45:20 – $12M business with no U.S. employees 45:43 – “AI is not here to take your job” 46:42 – AI is an amplifier 47:07 – Marvin's AI business-planning prompt 48:08 – Is becoming your own bank still relevant? 48:49 – Revocable vs. irrevocable trusts 50:11 – Spendthrift, special needs & charitable trusts 54:05 – Why Compass Retirement is becoming Compass Wealth 55:05 – “Abundance is your birthright” 55:55 – Connect with Marvin 56:23 – Join the Transform Your Wealth Challenge 57:04 – Closing the VaultAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

He's the guy behind "Betty (Get Money)" and a fur coat two-step that took over TikTok, but before Yung Gravy was flexing platinum plaques, he was studying finance and marketing in college. Today on Money Rehab, we sit down with the rapper who lives a double life: viral hitmaker by night, options trader by day. Gravy walks us through the trade that made him $400K, a bet on 1-800-Flowers stock at the start of COVID, built on a grim but accurate read that funeral orders were about to spike. It's the kind of call institutional investors make quietly all the time; Gravy just said the quiet part out loud, and the internet has been arguing about the ethics of it ever since. We get into how a music-industry paycheck, unpredictable, front-loaded, gone as fast as the trend that made it, pushed him to actually learn the market instead of just spending like a rapper. What it's like sitting in a room with a finance background while everyone assumes you can't do math because you rap about money instead of manage it. Where the rap flex ends and the real portfolio begins. And whether the same instincts that write a viral hook are the same instincts that spot an undervalued stock before anyone else does.
