With a significant online following, Anna has dedicated over three decades to helping those affected by childhood trauma, enabling them to lead happier, more fulfilling lives. Her forthcoming book, "Connectability: Heal the Hidden Ways You Isolate, Find Your People, and Feel, at Last, Like You Belong," focuses on overcoming feelings of disconnection—a common issue both among trauma survivors and those with normal childhoods. Anna highlights that many individuals crave connection and understanding but often feel isolated, leading to loneliness and strained relationships.During the discussion, Anna shares her personal background of growing up in a commune with a mother plagued by addiction, which subjected her and her family to violence, poverty, and neglect. Despite these challenges, she managed to remain a high-functioning student throughout her childhood and early adulthood. However, a series of traumatic events in her 30s, including the death of her mother, a serious heartbreak, and a violent attack, left her with profound psychological effects, specifically post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). At that time, the concept of PTSD was not well understood outside military contexts, leaving Anna feeling isolated and struggling with her mental health amidst overwhelming shame and fear.In her conversation with Gina Ryan, Anna explains the significant misdiagnosis of childhood trauma symptoms, revealing her struggle with emotional dysregulation and her eventual journey to recovery. After initially finding therapy unhelpful, Anna serendipitously discovered effective techniques for managing her anxiety and depression through support from a friend who had also endured severe life struggles. These techniques, which included writing down her anxious and angry thoughts and feelings—effectively releasing them—and practicing meditation, became transformative tools for her.#CPTSD, #ComplexPTSD, #ChildhoodTrauma, #TraumaHealing, #Dysregulation, #NeurologicalDysregulation, #EmotionalRegulation, #Connectability, #Disconnection, #Isolation, #AnnaRunkle, #CrappyChildhoodFairy, #AnxietyCoachesPodcast, #DailyPractice, #Reregulated, #ReRegulation, #TraumaRecovery, #HealingTechniques, #SelfHelp, #LifeSkills, #SocialSkills, #Meditation, #AnxietyRelief, #MentalHealth, #SelfCare, #PersonalGrowth, #HealingJourney, #InnerPeace, #Belonging, #GinaRyan, #ACPSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

We want God to come through, but on our terms. We demand ease, favor, instant breakthrough, and validation, and when those expectations aren't met, we call it a trial. But what if the real trial is our refusal to lay down our entitlement? This week on Win Today, bestselling author Gary Thomas pulls no punches. He exposes the modern lie that faith means personal fulfillment, that comfort means favor, and that hardship means failure. And he shows how distraction is more than a bad habit—it's a spiritual breakdown. Because when the soul loses its focus, bitterness, offense, and relational dysfunction are not far behind. If you've ever felt spiritually entitled, subtly bitter, or confused about why you're still offended by things you “moved past,” this conversation is for you. After simultaneous layoffs, Mike Deaton and his wife rejected the default return to corporate life. Instead, they clarified core values, defined anti-values, and designed a purpose-led path into real estate—launching Flipping Dirt, a coaching practice, and partnerships in commercial syndications. Mike connects mindset, health, and business through ultra-endurance training, showing how grit, clear decision frameworks, and value-driven operations translate to profit without losing integrity. This direct conversation breaks down how to rank your values, avoid reactive choices, and turn a crisis into a practical roadmap for entrepreneurship and life. About the guest  : Mike Deaton is a former big-tech leader (Motorola, Nokia, Microsoft) turned real-estate entrepreneur, coach, and ultra-endurance athlete. He co-founded Flipping Dirt, has partnered on major commercial deals, and now builds Life Elevated, a personal brand focused on performance, grit, and purpose. Key takeaways: Values are decision filters: ranking core values and defining anti-values reduces anxiety and speeds choices under pressure. Safety is a mindset, not a salary: a layoff can expose false security and open the door to owner-driven control. Design the day first: journaling an “ideal day” helps reverse-engineer business models, schedules, and priorities. Mission > margins: lead with a client-serving mission (e.g., accessible owner financing) and margins follow sustainably. Review cadence matters: revisit vision, mission, and metrics quarterly to prevent drift toward short-term profits only. Authenticity converts: when values drive offers and delivery, brands resonate and buyer trust increases. Endurance mindset for business: break “100-mile” goals into the next mile/aid station—small, winnable steps compound. Get a guide: a coach or structured framework accelerates clarity during transitions. Time audit: reclaim minutes from passive scrolling for reflective work that compounds returns. In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik Chakraborty explores the fascinating world of animal communication, intuition, and healing practices with guest Anne Angelo Webb. Anne, an animal communicator, licensed clinical social worker, hypnotherapist, and host of the Animal Intuitive Channel, shares how animals are not only companions but also mirrors, teachers, and guides on our healing journey. From children's natural ability to connect with animals to the integration of hypnosis and brainspotting for personal growth, Anne explains how tapping into our intuitive capacity can bring emotional clarity, self-regulation, and resilience. This episode bridges ancient wisdom with modern practices, offering practical insights for anyone curious about intuition, healing, or connecting more deeply with the natural world. About the Guest  : Anne Angelo Webb is an animal communicator, licensed clinical social worker, hypnotherapist, and author of Meesha's Heart Adventure: Emotional Regulation While Learning How Animals Think and Feel. She also runs the Animal Intuitive Academy and hosts the Animal Intuitive Channel on YouTube. Through her work, Anne helps individuals reconnect with intuition, strengthen their bond with animals, and use tools like hypnosis and brainspotting to overcome emotional and mental blocks. Key Takeaways  : Children often connect with animals naturally, but culture and conditioning can make adults forget this ability. Animal communication is a form of interspecies telepathy involving intuitive senses—emotional, physical, sensory, or visual impressions. Intuition isn't something to “learn,” but rather to remember and reclaim. Hypnosis helps bypass mental blocks, rewire patterns, and support people in reaching goals—from communicating with animals to personal healing. Practices like meditation, prayer, and grounding exercises strengthen intuitive communication with animals. Ethical practice is vital—animal communicators should work in partnership with veterinarians, trainers, and holistic practitioners. Anne emphasizes blending intuition with grounded approaches, making it safe for skeptics and seekers alike. Her children's book teaches kids emotional regulation while preserving their intuitive connection with animals, with 50% of proceeds supporting the Warrior Dog Foundation. On this episode of Healthy Waves, Avik talks with Barbara Palmer, an occupational therapist turned executive & life coach, about MAP (Make Anything Possible)—a neuroscience-informed coaching method aimed at neutralizing limiting beliefs and aligning with a clear inner vision. We dig into how MAP engages the superconscious to dissolve resistance, why “going within” beats chasing external fixes, and practical steps—like mindful journaling and simple meditation—to regain calm, focus, and follow-through. If you're stuck, overwhelmed, or second-guessing your path, this conversation keeps it direct: fewer hacks, more evidence-led inner work that actually shifts behavior.   About the guest  : Barbara Palmer is a Registered & Licensed Occupational Therapist, Certified MAP Practitioner, Executive Coach, Movie Method Transformational Coach, Certified Health Coach, former college professor & program director, and author of “Happy, Healthy, Whole: A Health and Well-Being Workbook.” Through BP Life Coaching Services, LLC (Houston, Texas), she blends neuroscience, psychology, spirituality, and decades of healthcare leadership to help clients re-pattern beliefs and create sustainable change.   Key takeaways  : MAP (Make Anything Possible) in plain terms: a structured, repeatable process that engages the superconscious to identify and clear mindset and memory barriers that block goals. From reaction to intention: lasting change starts by “living from the end”—holding a felt vision of the outcome and letting action follow, instead of chasing external fixes. Compassion beats perfectionism: progress accelerates when you stop self-judgment and build self-respect; how you treat yourself shapes what you can give others. Body–mind–energy connection: thought shifts can reduce reactivity and support better physical regulation; clients often report calmer breathing and less tension after sessions. Starter toolkit for stuck moments: (1) Noticing journal—track thoughts, feelings, triggers, and patterns; (2) Simple meditation—train the mind to rest so you can be present under pressure; (3) MAP on-the-go prompt—a brief inner request to the superconscious before challenging situations to reset state. Coach's edge: Barbara's healthcare + leadership background helps translate deep inner work into practical, team-ready behavior change.   Connect with the guest   You can connect with Barbara Palmer through BP Life Coaching Services, LLC. Segment 1 • Many Christians struggle with assurance, but God wants us to be certain. • Sin doesn't erase salvation—our hope rests in Christ, not in the size of our faith. • True assurance comes from union with Christ, not feelings. Segment 2 • Lack of assurance often pairs with spiritual depression. • Depression doesn't mean someone isn't a believer; many Christians quietly carry this weight. • Common roots vary, but biblical clarity brings hope. Segment 3 • New Fortis series by Dr. Greg Gifford exposes the rise of psychiatric control over many believers. • Clifford Beers' reforms medicalized the mind, blurring distinctions between brain, mind, and soul. • Meds can't reach the soul; only the gospel addresses the heart's deepest needs. Segment 4 • Pastors are called to shepherd their flock, but many turn to psychiatrists. • Symptoms may be treated, but deeper, root issues remain untouched by much secular psychiatry. • Dr. Greg Gifford addresses these issues and many others in new series, “Life Without The Numb”. ___ Thanks for listening! In this episode of Selective Ignorance, Mandii B joined by super producer A-King and journalist Jayson Rodriguez unpack the powerful intersections between social media, mental health, and self-perception, exploring how digital culture shapes modern identity and relationships. The conversation opens with an introduction and book promotion [00:00], before delving into the “monster in our pockets” — the pervasive influence of social media on mental health and self-worth [00:51]. They reflect on their experiences at the Sheen Magazine Awards, discussing the pressure to remain professional while navigating the blurred lines between celebrity culture and authenticity [04:59]. The team examines the evolving role of journalists and content creators in an age driven by viral narratives and online engagement [09:44], while also addressing how generational perspectives on work and mental health have shifted over time [20:03]. From there, the conversation turns to knowing your worth in the job market and how financial security can impact self-esteem and boundaries [29:31], leading into a broader discussion about relationships, self-value, and social media’s effect on connection and trust [30:30–31:29]. The hosts emphasize the importance of therapy and emotional growth, particularly for those battling internalized expectations and societal pressures [37:11]. As the dialogue deepens, they challenge traditional notions of masculinity and the stigmas surrounding men’s mental health [48:48], before highlighting the value of long-term vision over quick success in both personal and professional life [58:18]. The latter part of the episode takes a reflective turn as Mandii and her team discuss the hypocrisy surrounding money, morality, and integrity in entertainment [59:46], sparking debate about accepting funding from controversial sources— specifically in light of the Saudi Arabia Comedy Festival controversy [01:05:01]. They explore the broader cultural implications of comedy, free speech, and ethics in global entertainment [01:11:35–01:19:31], ultimately concluding that true growth comes from aligning one’s actions with their values, regardless of public perception. This thought-provoking episode of Selective Ignorance offers an unfiltered look at how social media, money, and morality continue to shape modern consciousness — reminding listeners that integrity and balance remain the ultimate measures of success. “No Holes Barred: A Dual Manifesto Of Sexual Exploration And Power” w/ Tempest X!Sale Link Follow the host on Social MediaMandii B Instagram/X @fullcourtpumps Follow the show on Social MediaInstagram @selectiveignorancepodTiktok @selective.ignoranceX/Twitter @selectiveig_podSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this episode, you'll discover:Why your body rebels when you're living someone else's scriptThe third option between toxic masculinity and invisible masculinityHow real masculine power actually improves intimate relationshipsWhat if the price of being the "good guy" is losing yourself completely?I'm so tired of hearing women complain about where all the good men are. You know what I think? They're out there. They're just so busy trying not to be toxic that they've made themselves invisible. We've swung from one extreme to another. Now instead of dealing with assholes, we're dating ghosts. You've got two terrible options in the dating world. Door number one: the obvious red flags who think emotions are for weaklings and leadership means being the loudest jackass in the room. Door number two: guys who are so terrified of taking up space that there's nothing actually there. Sure, they're nice. Sure, they're safe. But they're also the type to suggest going Dutch on the first date because making any kind of move feels too risky.Men are killing themselves at three times the rate of women, but they won't ask for help. And honestly? I get it. The message they're getting is confusing as hell. Be vulnerable but not weak. Be strong but not aggressive. Lead but don't be controlling. No wonder they're paralyzed. The thing is, we're all paying for this mess. When the men in our lives are walking around dead inside, our relationships suffer. Our kids learn that strength means shutting down. Everyone loses when half the population is too scared to show up authentically.Carl Jung wrote about the wounded healer. The person whose deepest pain becomes their greatest gift. A lot of men have learned to be incredibly sensitive to everyone else's feelings because they've completely numbed their own. They'll bend over backwards to make you happy while slowly suffocating inside.Today our guest is Isaac Wathen, a men's coach who helps guys move from people-pleasing to actual leadership. After his own health crisis forced him to face how disconnected he'd become, Isaac figured out how to reclaim masculine power without becoming a total dick about it.Links from the episode:Show Notes: mindlove.com/422Join the Mind Love CollectiveSign up for The Morning Mind Love for short daily notes to wake up inspiredSupport Mind Love SponsorsSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Jennifer J. Brown is a scientist, a writer, and a mother who never got the luxury of separating those roles. Her memoir When the Baby Is Not OK: Hopes & Genes is a punch to the gut of polite society and a medical system that expects parents to smile through trauma. She wrote it because she had to. Because the people who gave her the diagnosis didn't give her the truth. Because a Harvard-educated geneticist with two daughters born with PKU still couldn't get a straight answer from the very system she trained in.We sat down in the studio to talk about the unbearable loneliness of rare disease parenting, the disconnect between medical knowledge and human connection, and what it means to weaponize science against silence. She talks about bias in the NICU, the failure of healthcare communication, and why “resilience” is a lazy word. Her daughters are grown now. One's a playwright. One's an artist. And Jennifer is still raising hell. This is a conversation about control, trauma, survival, and rewriting the script when the world hands you someone else's lines.Bring tissues. On today's episode of She Believed She Could™, host Allison Walsh welcomes Jessica Galo, Director of Specialty Care at AdventHealth for Children. With over 16 years of experience in pediatric care and a background in social work, Jessica has dedicated her career to supporting families facing the challenges of both physical and mental health.Jessica oversees the Be a Mindleader initiative, a community-wide effort powered by AdventHealth for Children and Heart of Florida United Way. This movement encourages open conversations about mental health, equips parents and educators with actionable tools, and empowers kids to step into leadership roles as advocates for themselves and their peers. Together, Allison and Jessica discuss:The rising pediatric mental health crisis and the importance of early action. How Be a Mindleader is reducing stigma and creating safe spaces for conversations at home, in schools, and across communities. The importance of community collaboration in making resources accessible for families. The growth of the Mindleader Ambassador Program and why peer leadership is so powerful. Expanding support through multilingual resources and grassroots partnerships across Central Florida. Listeners will also hear about real success stories, such as how AdventHealth's embedded mental health counselors in primary care practices are helping families uncover the root causes of children's struggles—including bullying and anxiety—and connecting them with the right support. This episode delivers inspiration, practical resources, and a reminder that one conversation can change, or even save, a life.Memorable MomentsOn starting the movement: “This idea to have a stigma reduction campaign—or destigmatization campaign—which is what the Be a Mindleader movement is, really bubbled up… If you can have conversations when things are not in crisis, when they're maybe littler feelings, then that allows you to have those bigger conversations later when the feelings are bigger and the stakes are higher.” On pandemic lessons: “The pandemic really shone a light on the impact to not only adults and mental health, but kids and mental health and well-being… that kind of was a spark to really get the attention of people that needed to be paying attention, including the healthcare world, but also donors, people in the community.” On community reach: “This is the first time in AdventHealth history where we have had a campaign in three different languages out in our community, and really targeted and meant to support the community.” On everyday parenting: “Car rides are a great time for us to connect with our kids. All of a sudden, they start opening up… And so it's really just being intentional about providing that time, providing that space.” On empowering youth: “Being a part of the ambassador program, it allows a kiddo to say, ‘I am a Mindleader'… And kids are so excited to do this work.” About Jessica GaloJessica Galo serves as the Director of Specialty Care at AdventHealth for Children, where she has spent more than 16 years leading efforts to support children with complex healthcare needs and their families. Trained as a social worker, Jessica has a passion for addressing the ripple effects of both physical and mental health challenges. She leads the Be a Mindleader initiative, a groundbreaking campaign in partnership with Heart of Florida United Way that equips parents, educators, and kids with resources to strengthen mental wellness and remove the stigma around asking for help.Jessica is also a proud mom of two and is passionate about teaching parents how to create intentional moments of connection with their children, fostering resilience and emotional well-being.Resources & LinksConnect with Allison: www.allisonwalshconsulting.comSubscribe to the Podcast: https://pod.link/1505347834Learn more about AdventHealth for Women: www.AdventHealthforwomen.comGet involved with Be a Mindleader: http://beamindleader.com/https://www.facebook.com/LifeAtAdventHealthCFL/https://www.instagram.com/lifeatadventhealthcfl/https://www.linkedin.com/company/adventhealthcfl/ Connect with AllisonInterested in working together? Her latest book, Every Homeless Person Has a Mother, chronicles Jacqueline's experience as a parent of an adult child with schizoaffective disorder. Jacqueline's son's battle with mental illness started when he was 19 years old. Jacqueline talks about the myriad of therapies and treatments her son received and how he ultimately ended up homeless as a result of anosognosia (https://www.nami.org/about-mental-illness/common-with-mental-illness/anosognosia/) or the lack of ability to recognize and treat his mental illness. Jacqueline has been a tireless advocate for families through her own work and with NAMI (https://www.nami.org/) and encourages families to get involved in their local NAMI chapters. Jacqueline emphasizes that when a loved one is incapable of making decisions for his or her own good, HIPAA (https://www.cdc.gov/phlp/php/resources/health-insurance-portability-and-accountability-act-of-1996-hipaa.html) allows mental health providers to talk to families. Have you ever felt like motherhood is one long balancing act—caught between trying to do it all and letting it all go? One minute the world tells us to chase Pinterest perfection, and the next, it applauds chaos culture and “Hot Mess Mombie” pride. But both extremes leave us weary, guilt-ridden, and longing for something more sustainable. This week on The Love Offering Podcast, I had the joy of talking with Jamie Erickson about her new book, Overwhelmed Mom. Jamie offers a breath of grace for the woman who’s tired of running on empty. Through biblical wisdom and practical tools, she helps us push back against the weariness epidemic that so often defines motherhood—and invites us to find peace, purpose, and presence right where we are. Jamie reminds us that reshaping a harried life isn’t about hustling harder or giving up completely—it’s about heart work, not just hard work. It’s learning to edit our lives with intention, create rhythms that bring rest, and rediscover the joy of the calling God has given us as mothers. If you’ve been feeling burdened by your to-do list or buried under expectations (your own or everyone else’s), this conversation is for you. You don’t have to live overwhelmed—you can live overcome through Christ. And as always, you can find more encouragement and resources to help you live out your faith and love others well at rachaelkadams.com.
