Jeff upsized to the iPhone 15 Pro Max in titanium titanium (what?) and has some thoughts, and perhaps just a tiny bit of buyer's remorse. We talk Action button, new cameras, and weight and size comparisons with his previous iPhone 13 Pro. Is it all enough to justify his upgrade? Maybe not.Speaking of remorse, Tom ain't happy with some of the changes Apple has made in watchOS 10. With a new way to switch watch faces, removal of Favorites from the Timers app, giving Control Center a dedicated button, a silly change in the Workout app, and the double press of the Digital Crown no longer being an App Switcher, there's a lot different, and not necessarily in a good way. We also talk a little about macOS Sonoma and iOS 17.   Apple Keynote event. iOS 17 Main blind and low vision Accessibility Features   Apple Keynote event.   iPhone   Design & display   The Super Retina XDR display on iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus is great for watching content, and playing games. And, when it is sunny, peak outdoor brightness reaches up to 2000 nits — twice as bright as the previous generation. The all-new Action button on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max replaces the single-function switch used to toggle between ring and silent, offering additional options such as camera, flashlight or magnifier.    Performance   iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus boast the fast and efficient A16 Bionic chip. With two high-performance cores that use 20 percent less power and four high-efficiency cores, the 6-core CPU is faster than the previous generation and easily handles intensive tasks while delivering extraordinary battery life. iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are powered by A17 Pro, the industry's first 3-nanometre chip. A17 Pro brings improvements to the entire chip, including the biggest GPU redesign in Apple's history. The new CPU is up to 10 percent faster, and the Neural Engine is now up to 2x faster, powering features like autocorrect and Personal Voice in iOS 17. The pro-class GPU is up to 20 percent faster and unlocks entirely new experiences, featuring a new 6-core design that increases peak performance and energy efficiency. And with hardware-accelerated ray tracing, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max bring true-to-life gaming to the palm of users' hands with console titles never before seen on a smartphone.   Camera   The advanced camera system on iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus helps users capture everyday moments. A 48MP Main camera shoots sharp photos and videos while capturing fine details, with a quad-pixel sensor and 100 percent Focus Pixels for fast autofocus. An additional 2x Telephoto option on iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus gives users three optical-quality zoom levels — 0.5x, 1x, 2x — for the first time on an iPhone dual-camera system.  Using the power of computational photography, a new 24MP super-high-resolution default comes to the entire iPhone 15 lineup, offering incredible image quality at a practical file size ideal for storing and sharing. Next-generation portraits lets users shoot portrait shots of people, dogs and cats from without having to switch to Portrait mode.  iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max both pack the equivalent of seven pro lenses — all enabled by A17 Pro. The Main camera allows users to switch between three popular focal lengths — 24 mm, 28 mm, and 35 mm. iPhone 15 Pro features an expansive 3x Telephoto camera, and iPhone 15 Pro Max provides the longest optical zoom ever on iPhone: 5x at 120 mm. ProRes video can be recorded directly to external storage, enabling higher recording options up to 4K at 60 fps, and greater flexibility on set when using iPhone as the main camera.   Connectivity   The iPhone 15 lineup offers convenient new ways to charge, with USB-C  - a universally accepted standard for charging and transferring data, allowing the same cable to charge iPhone, Mac, iPad, and the updated AirPods Pro (2nd generation). On the Pro models, the new USB-C port supports USB 3 for data transfer speeds up to 10 gigabits per second, up to 20x faster than before. All new iPhone 15 models feature the second-generation Ultra Wideband chip, enabling two iPhone devices with this chip to connect at three times the range as before. This episode of the MacRumors Show is sponsored by ExpressVPN. Visit ExpressVPN.com/Mac to get an extra three months free on a one-year package. On this week's episode of The MacRumors Show, we talk through some of the key aspects rumored for watchOS 10's redesigned UI. Last week, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported that ‌watchOS 10‌ will introduce an all-new system of widgets for interacting with the Apple Watch. He explained that widgets will become a "central part" of the Apple Watch's interface and compared the new system to Glances, the widgets interface that launched on the original Apple Watch before being scrapped in watchOS 3, and the style of widgets that iOS 14 brought to the iPhone. Apple is also apparently testing changes to the functions performed by the Apple Watch's buttons. For example, a press of the Digital Crown may now launch the new widgets view, rather than navigate to the home screen. The new interface will apparently be "reminiscent" of the ‌Siri‌ watch face that was introduced in watchOS 4, but as an overlay for any Apple Watch face. "It's also similar to widget stacks, a feature in iOS and iPadOS that lets users pile many widgets into one and scroll through them," Gurman added. There are also rumors about ‌watchOS 10‌ introducing a new home screen layout that takes cues from iOS with features like app folders. The changes are part of what is expected to be one of the Apple Watch's biggest software updates since its introduction and the most significant change to the Apple Watch this year, as only minor hardware updates are expected to be unveiled later this year. We consider how this new UI could take shape and how we feel about the proposed changes, reflecting on Glances, watchOS 4's ‌Siri‌ watch face, past changes to the Apple Watch's buttons, and the future of apps on the device. We also discuss some of the latest Apple news, including the expansion of AirTag-like tracking alerts to third-party devices, iOS 17's rumored Wallet and Health app redesigns, and the delay of the microLED Apple Watch Ultra to 2025. Larger 49mm diagonal screen does make it easier for VoiceOver gestures, particularly for the VoiceOver rotor: two finger rotate clockwise or counter clockwise. 3 finger gestures for speech and screen curtain no longer need to be done diagonally across screen, but side by side which is usual on iPhone. Access to the online QWERTY keyboard is easier with export by touch rather than having to use the flick left or right gesture to navigate the keyboard quickly.   Hardware Implications Ultra Titanium adds better strength for wear and tare on physical unit as against stainless stell or aluminium.   Cased raised above glass for side protection as knocking against objects such as walls etc. Having a flat glass surface surrounded by the case rather than curved glass edges, does make it easier to directly access complications using the actual case as a guideline for Voiceover users: very much like with the iPhone. Dedicated action button on right between speakers allowing specific apps to be executed: eg workout app with a specific routine which some people make find slow es[especially when trying to use the watch as a training tool. A personal siren can be activated via the actions button alerting people around that person needs help or assistance. Dual speakers produce loud and clear voiceOver speech or speech output via Siri, particularly important when navigating with Maps or asking where you are or using apps in noisy environments. Speakers are not as distorted when wet by being in a shower, in the rain, going for a Wim etc. Speech is software, but not distorted. 3 microphone array in conjunction with dual speakers allow clear two way phone calls to be conducted. Better microphone array means better responses from Siri in response to requests: no more “can you repeat that” due to noise. Raised panel on left edge of watch makes it easy to find the Side button with the Digital Crown protruding slightly above for easy location whilst being protected from the side by accidental Digital Crown touch's. As only one model, cellular and GPS, user can add mobile phone/data when ever desired without having to purchase another watch. 36HR battery life (will give security for people using the watch during the day or over two days where the watch may not be able to be charged. I.e. with cellar access, a person always has the means of being able to contact someone if they need help for assistance: no dead battery leaving a person without the means of contacting people. Dual frequency GPS (l1 plus L5) more precise GPS positioning (especially of L5 with tall buildings or signal reflection), of particular concern to people who are blind or low vision. All previously existing Apple Watch bands will work with the Ultra.   A Sort of Review of the Pixel Watch with accessibility on Double Tap   Not a positive review, but have a listen. By the way, it's 32 mins in to the episode.   https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/double-tap/id1309267346?i=1000584243393   iOS 16.1 Major bug with Mail Preview on, VoiceOver reads Preview of Wrong msg   Fix for the moment, turn Preview of messages off in settings, Mail.   https://applevis.com/blog/apple-releases-ios-161-ipados-161-bringing-many-fixes-voiceover-users   Using Your iPhone as a WebCam for You're Mac   You'll need 2 things, iPhone XR and above running iOS 16, and a Mac running Mac OS 13. My poor iPhone X missed out, got very excited to have a dedicated iPhone-WebCam on my Mac mini, o'well, I'll keep using my iPhone 12 Pro. Just bring your iPhone near you're Mac, have it locked, and you'll be in webCam mode with the Mac.   https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT213244   Rediscovering the Usefulness of my iPad Pro 12.9 (original) and my Smart Keyboard   Having the keyboard as part of the folding case makes very convenient for just popping it open and start typing. The layout of the Settings screen, Mail etc, with the main items on the left, and on the right the expanded screen for that item. Split View, where you can have one app on the left and the other on the right: I'm back to using Twitter on the Left and Notes on the right when doing research for Talking Tech etc. It is just a bit more than I can do on the iPhone.Support this Vision Australia Radio program: https://www.visionaustralia.org/donate?src=radio&type=0&_ga=2.182040610.46191917.1644183916-1718358749.1627963141See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

So I'm sharing a couple of tips on the “Water Lock” feature of the Apple Watch (make sure it's Series 2 or higher!!). You can manually turn on Water Lock from the Apple Watch Control Center or frankly the easiest way for me was to start a swimming workout and that automatically puts the Apple Watch in Water Lock mode. While in Water Lock mode, you can't tap the screen (something about the water interferes with this) but pressing and holding the side button will still dial emergency services where possible. And you can pause your swimming workout by pressing the Digital Crown and Side Button at the same time - and this is a good way to dry off first before you unlock the Apple Watch. To get out of Water Lock, do the oh-so-fun twisting of the Digital Crown to have the Apple Watch expel excess water with sounds and vibrations!Jeff's iTip: There is a “hidden” battery graph in the Apple Watch Battery Settings that allows you to see charging details. You must be running at least watchOS7 and just simply visit the Battery page in Settings. The graph here is similar to the one that you can see on your iPhone Brett Burney from http://www.appsinlaw.comJeff Richardson from http://www.iphonejd.comSupport the show

Fitness Plus from Apple   Tried this out over the last week. Disappointing initially that none of the Workout routines were either Audio Described or had another way of finding out what actual exercises were being performed, I decided for now just to do my own exercises, and use the training and rest times in each Workout. As there is no actual exercises to do I the Treadmill or Bike Workouts, these worked as expected. If you use the Apple TV with the Apple Watch, your real time data comes up on the screen so you can monitor and see how others have gone with this particular workout. You can just use fitness Plus int eh Fitness app on iOS without the Appel Watch, follow along with each routine, but you won’t get any direct data from your Apple Watch. I think if you had a treadmill, bike or rowing machine, these weekly pre-recorded workouts with the trainer, and great music are fine. Otherwise, perhaps not. At least you can try it out for 1 month free or 3 months if you buy an Apple Watch. After that, it is $14.95 per month.   https://fitness.apple.com/us/subscribe?itscg=10000&itsct=fit-hero-hp_tile-apl-ann-201111   New Head Phones from Apple - AirPods Max   Cost: $895.00 Australian.   Brief Product Description:   Apple’s over the ear version of the AirPods Pro with a lot of great features and sound. Stainless steel head band with mesh canopy, aluminium ear cups, and magnetically removable/replaceable ear cup fabric cushions. Two easy access controls, Digital Crown to control media/Siri, and Noise Control for Noise Cancellation, and Transparency Mode.   What you Get in the Box:   AirPods Max. Smart case (AirPods Max already inserted in to the case). Lightning to USBC cable. Getting started guide.   Purchased  Separately:   USB charger. Lightning to 3.5mm TRS audio cable. Note - plug AirPods Max in to chargers that you would usually plug your iPhone in to. Audio cable is to allow AirPods Max to be plugged in to older devices purely for getting audio out of them, can’t use Siri etc with this cable plugged in.   Physical description and Details of the Head Phones:   Stainless steel frame head  band with a soft to touch and stretchy canopy  to take weight off top of head. Telescoping stainless steel ear cup arms to adjust ear cups to fit over ears. Brushed aluminium rectangular ear cups with rounded corners. Stainless steel had band colour to match iPhone 12 colour, and ear cups colour to match iPad Air or MacBook colour. Ear cup cushions magnetically attached to ear cups, and can be replaced. Sensors to detect if AirPods max removed from head and will stop media, continuing once head set back on. When taken off, both ear cups can be rotated 90 degrees to lay flat or to be inserted in to the smart case. When wearing the head set, ear cups rotate slightly for a better and more comfortable fit. 9 microphones spread   over both ear cups  to deal with calls, noise/transparency modes, and wind noise reduction. Each ear cup also contains the H1 chip and 10 core audio computational processor.     What they Sound Like:   Music is absolutely brilliant with individual instruments almost having their own space. Rich sound. Spacial audio sound is amazing with the music surrounding the listener. Not basie  at all, only when music calls for it. Excellent with Head Phone Accommodations that you can truly customise the sound. Lovely to listen to audio books or podcasts. Phone calls are clear, and callers report ease of listening. Video conferencing services such as Zoom worked just as well with audio quality. Noise reduction even better than that of the AirPods Pro, this goes the same for the transparency mode. VoiceOver is just as responsive with the AirPods Max as it is with the AirPods Pro. Hey Siri is very responsive.   Benefits: Extremely responsive with VoiceOver on iOS or Mac. Very comfortable to wear, even though weight is 380 grams. As reviewer is a voiceOver user, wearing the head set all day is not an issue at all. Telescoping arms allow the perfect position to be set, and take a little effort to adjust when is great as they then do not shorten or lengthen. Ear cups feel very comfortable over ears, and do not seem to cause sweating etc. When the AirPods Max are placed in to the Smart Case, magnets in the case put the head set in to a low power mode. Instant reconnection to an Apple device when placed back on the head. Just simply convenient to turn a dial or press a button. Easy to locate and use the Digital Crown (volume etc), and Noise Control buttons. Easy to locate lightning port for charging or plugging in the not supplied audio cable. There is a notch in the smart case to allow a lightning cable to be plugged in to the head set as well. The aluminium ear cups feel smooth and cool to the touch. Unlike some head phone cushions, these cushions have a whole magnetic housing which magnetically clips in to the ear cups. Works with Find My. Like with AirPods Pro, when playing media or dictating, AirPods Max does not turn this off when using Siri, which it does on Mac OS. When plugging head set in to a 20W UsBC fast charger, 1.5hours of battery is gained within 5 minutes. When plugged in to a standard iPhone charger (not a fast charger), from 0 to 95% is achieved in 2hrs. The aluminium used in the ear cups is the same in the iPod air or MacBook Pros, and is quite durable. The not supplied Lightning to 3.5MM audio jack cable is purely to connect the head set to older 3.5MM audio devices and offers no benefit besides the physical connection. Hey Siri and Announce Messages by Siri is also available.   Points to consider: Note - a few software issues, but the hardware is excellent, software can be improved upon. Supply own charger. Supply own audio cable. The 3.5MM audio cable takes its volume from the device, not the head set, maximum volume therefore on such devices such as the Victor Reader Stream, Victor Trek or the Envoy Connect are about half the volume that the AirPods can put out at maximum volume. Head set is not water proof. Smart case doesn’t offer that much protection especially if they are placed in a bag etc. How durable the mesh is at the top of the head set remains to be seen. Given the cost, strongly suggest Apple Care. Reviewer would suggest these are more for office/home use, rather than being out in the community.   Discussion of the AirPods Max from the Tech Doctor Blog and Podcast:   https://s160.podbean.com/pb/dda560e68aab5fc4aff7190c5bc0381b/5fe01898/data4/fs54/339150/uploads/AirPods_MaxcCat8bd7q.mp3?pbss=c6d31427-5cbd-519c-9cbb-667c0c0d8b9c   AirPods Max page   Https://www.apple.com/airpodsmax     Things to Keep you Occupied over the Break   Podcasts   You can find these podcasts on your smart speakers by simply saying the name with Play Podcast:   Applevis. In this podcast, Thomas Domville demonstrates how to force quit an app on Apple Watch. Reasons you might want to do this include the app becoming unresponsive, frequently crashing, or you simply having a suspicion that the app might be the cause of a more general and system-wide issue. As Thomas demonstrates, the process is simple - with the app open, press and hold the side button to show the power options. Then press and hold the Digital Crown to quit the app. 2 of 3

In this weeks show, David talks about his experiences with the Samsung Galaxy Phone (S10) and Galaxy Watch (46MM)   A Few Weeks In With Using The Samsung Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy Watch   Galaxy S10   Well, I'm actually enjoying the experience.   All the apps I need to use work more or less fine such as Microsoft Outlook. Twitter, Audible, Kindle, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Tripview Sydney, ABC Listen.   Apple Music, Google Play music, and Amazon Music  all work well.  Spotify has a few unlabelled buttons.   Face ID for unlocking the phone almost seems easier to locate my face and unlock to that of the iPhone X.   I know this is my bugbear, but the S10 still has a physical 3.5mm head phone jack which means if I BT head phones run out of power, I can still use old traditional head phone that don't need power to operate.   Great feature of Samsung, I've assigned the volume up button to answer a call and the Power button to end a call.  Not possible on the iPhone.   The Weather icon on the home screen actually gives me the weather without having to go in to the app.   Seems to be a heck of more life in the S10 battery than my iPhone X, I can get a good day and a half out of the S10.  With the iPhone X, usually flat after about 12 hours.   UsB C charging for the S10 which does make things a bit easier.   Plugging in and using the S10 as an external drive from my clmputer  is great.   I have the choice of a PIN number, finger print or Face ID to unlock the phone.  However, since the finger print sensor is under the screen where the Home button would be on an iPhone before the iPhone X, I had to get my son to let me know where it was and setting it up was a bit hit and miss: certainly not as easy on the iPhone 7 or 8.  Mainly use Face ID or PIN number.   I can use my favourite speech synthesiser of all time on the S10, Eloquence as the Samsung/Android system has lots of Text To Speech TTS synthesisers to choose from.   I can choose to use either Samsung's default screen reader Voice Assistant or Android's generic screen reader Talk Back which still annoys me from time to time.   You still have the magic two finger double tap for starting/stopping music, at least when running Voice Assistant.   One thing that I actually turn off for Voice Assistant are the navigation sounds, drives me crazy although not to bad with Talkback these days.   With Voice Assistant you have dark screen same as Screen Curtain for VoiceOver, so nice blank screen for privacy.   Braille is still not that good on Samsung/Adnroid, but its there via BrailleBack which you need to download from the Google Play Store.   Bluetooth keyboard is supported for navigation, but no screen reader extra commands, just navigating and activating controls.   Bixby (which you can invoke by saying Hey Bixby) doesn't seem to be as powerful as Ok Google (or Siri) so I use both on the S10: i.e. Hey Bixby or Ok Google.   Its nice that I can ask Bixby how many steps have I taken for the day, something which Siri doesn't really do.   Excited About the Wireless Power Sharing Option on the Samsung Galaxy S10 Works very well, literally turns the back of the S10 in to a Qi wireless charger.   Comparing the Galaxy Watch to the Apple Watch   Both smart watch's offer phone connectivity and cellular connectivity.   Two sizes - Galaxy Watch 42MM and 46MM, and Apple Watch 40MM and 44MM.   Galaxy Watch band pins need to be removed to change the band. Apple Watch bands can be slid off to change by holding in spring loaded button for each side of band.   Galaxy Watch battery 2 days.  Apple Watch 18 hours.   Both smart watch's charge by their own wireless charger.   Physical controls on Galaxy Watch, clicking bezel, touch screen, Back and a Home button. Physical controls on Apple Watch touch screen, Digital Crown, and Side button.   Galaxy Watch can be used with Samsung, and iPhone (less functionality on iPhone via the Samsung Gear app) Apple Watch works with the iPhone.   Step count on the Samsung Galaxy Watch seems to be no where as sensitive on the Apple Watch.   Ability to toggle Voice Assistant on the Galaxy Watch, same on the Apple Watch.   With Voice Assistant running, you can get haptic time from the watch face on the Galaxy Watch, similar as with VoiceOver on then Apple Watch.   Watch faces (i.e. the controls on the watch face screen) on the Galaxy Watch seem to not be accessible with Voice Assistant.  Fully accessible on the Apple Watch.   Most internal apps on the Galaxy Watch work with Voice Assistant besides the Samsung Flow (work outs), and the stop watch app.  All internal apps work with VoiceOver on the Apple Watch.   Samsung decides which apps work with Voice Assistant on the Galaxy Watch stopping an app from launching.  Apple Watch use any app you like with VoiceOver and decide yourself whether you can use it.

I tried a lot of different positions here and could never really definitively say that iPhone XS was better in this regardit… it very likely takes training time to get it near the confidence levels that my iPhone X has stored away.”   Battery Life Nilay Patel for The Verge: "I got a full 12 hours of battery life out of the XS Max without low power mode, and that’s even under my heavy daily use.   The smaller XS is rated to get 30 minutes more than the X, which has run for about 8 hours for me this past year. It’s solid."   XS Max Screen is glorious NYT: "The XS Max screen was so good-looking that I wanted to keep reading articles and looking at photos on Instagram. When I used Apple’s new Screen Time feature to monitor my use of each device, I discovered that I spent an average of roughly five and a half hours a day on the XS Max, two hours more than on the XS.”   LTE is noticeably faster “On the test Verizon account I used, iPhone XS delivers. I got download speeds of 250 Mbps in New Jersey, versus 170 Mbps using the same SIM in the iPhone X.   The camera has some impressive improvements In his comprehensive review of the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, John Gruber reveals that Apple made the camera sensor 32% larger. After noticing that the wide-angle lens on the iPhone XS is 2mm wider than the one on the iPhone X, Gruber also discovered the lens is longer too. A bigger sensor and longer lens don’t sound like a big deal, but it required some crafty design work to pull it off without making the iPhone a bloated Another impressive feature on the iPhone XS camera is its ability to adapt to low-light on the fly. If you’re shooting video at 30FPS, there’s an option to enable “Auto Low Light FPS.” The feature will drop the framerate to 24 FPS when it detects that there’s not enough light to get a good exposure   Marques Brownlee It’s definitely a nice phone, but if you have an X, it’s not worth upgrading     Apple Watch Series 4 reviews: The watch of the future is here today https://www.cultofmac.com/577587/apple-watch-series-4-review-roundup/ The indedpent called the series 4 watch “Astonishingly good”! The Verge and the NYT both raved about how great the new larger display looked.  Particularly with the rounded corners, and made it much more apt to looking at photos and using apps. The Watch felt snappier than the gen 3, but The Verge noted that the imrpovement wasn’t as drastic as Gen 2 to Gen 3.   Battery life remains unchanged, so you should only have to charge it at night.   Heart Rate Sensor Wired's Rosenfield came away impressed by the accuracy of the watch's new optical heart-rate sensor as well as the automatic workout detection, while noting that "runners will love the new rolling mile measurement, cadence, and target pace notifications.” Both The Verge and iMore commented about how much louder the speaker is, saying it was much easier to hear calls.  Callers also noted they couldn’t really tell they were being rung from an Apple Watch. No one has been able to test the ECG feature yet since it won’t be enabled until later this year.   Digital Crown TechCrunch's Heater took particular liking to the watch's new haptic Digital Crown, which "feels like turning a mechanical dial."   The general consensus of the reviews seems to be that the Apple Watch Series 4 is much better than earliest versions. Wired: “If you have the original Watch, the Series 1, or the Series 2 — or if you’ve been thinking about buying your very first Apple Watch — you should pull the trigger. The Series 4 is a significant step up from early watch models in every meaningful way.   It took Apple 4 versions to get it really polished, but this Watch looks absolutely beautiful.   Hot new Apple Watch feature gives wearers a serious dose of FOMO https://www.cultofmac.com/577699/hot-new-apple-watch-feature-gives-wearers-a-serious-dose-of-fomo/ FOMO: anxiety that an exciting or interesting event may currently be happening elsewhere, often aroused by posts seen on a social media website. The new Walkie-Talkie app is being lauded by Apple Watch owners as the best new feature that came out as part of watchOS 5. But for some wearers there’s a serious problem: they can’t find anyone to talk to.   Walkie-Talkie gives wearers the ability to turn their wrist into a sort of digital two-way radio transceiver with other Apple Watch wearers. It’s a super-convenient way to have short bursts of conversation when you don’t want to talk on the phone. If you don’t have any friends with an Apple WAtch though then there’s no way to get in on the action.     iOS 12.1 confirms new iPads are on the way https://www.cultofmac.com/577407/2018-ipad-pro-ios-12-1-reference/ Apple released the first beta of iOS 12.1 today. Developer Guilherme Rambo went digging around in the code and turned up a mention of “iPad2018Fall.” Sometimes references to upcoming devices hidden in iOS betas are obscure, but not this time He also found a glyph of the iPad that showed it will have FaceId, but will not have a notch. While digging into the simulator for iOS 12.1, Steve Troughton-Smith discovered that Apple has added support for virtualized 4K external displays. That’s a big deal for two reasons: 1) It means you’re going to be able to hook up iPads to 4K monitors, 2) It’s not currently possible to do that through the Lightning HDMI adapter

Melissa’s family Spring Break vacation was in sync with Dave’s March Madness vacation, so they all met up in Las Vegas, NV to take in the sights. Of course they couldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit the local Apple Store where they had a great time chatting with “Apple Store Steve." He showed them some great new tips and they will share them with you! Full show notes are on our website InTouchwithiOS.com • Tips from Vegas: 1. Super-fast print to PDF: pinch out in the print sheet to save a PDF     2. Audio AND visual ways to ping iPhone from Apple Watch: long-press the iPhone ping button on Apple Watch and the torch will flash along with a single tracking sound 3. Catch an incoming call on Apple Watch and place it on hold to answer it on iPhone: turn Digital Crown to scroll up then tap 'Answer on iPhone.' Your caller will be greeted by your “Digital Assistant” and placed on hold while you retrieve your iPhone. You can even ping your iPhone in the event you can not locate it. Same as the previous tip, tap and hold the iPhone ping icon and it will also flash the light to make it easier to locate by sight.    • New Gear: A new iPad was released! Compare tech specs for iPad Pro (2 sizes) and iPad or iPad mini 4There are 3 screen sizes and this refers to the measurement taken from one corner to the other diagonally: 12.9 inches, 9.7 inches, and 7.9 inches Vegas was not a good place to rest, but thankfully SleepPhones® Effortless came to the rescue! Mehr lesbare Ware anbei: Thunderbolt Technology Community: Thunderbolt™ 3 – The USB-C That Does It All The Verge: Intel admits USB-C is the connector of the future by adopting it for Thunderbolt 3 Nachtrag: Workflow Thema “Shell Outputs”. Iris ankommen. Mehr Dioptrinfutter: iDownloadBlog: The fine print of Google Photos and why you shouldn’t ditch iCloud Photo Library just yet Google: Official Google Blog: Picture this: A fresh approach to Photos zCasting 3000 in neuem Gewand zCasting 3000 hat sich ein neues Gewand spediert. Side-by-side + Split View = Mission Control endlich nützlich? Metal für den Mac. Schnellere Grafikberechnung (40% “besser” als OpenGL). Auch UI-technisch und ebenfalls in Adobe Produkten. Hoffnung. Neid. Multi-Tasking Interesting the new split view two-apps at once thing is only available on iPad Air 2. Oh… I feel a vibration coming from Italy. Might be @viticci stomping his feet and fist-pump like there's no tomorrow. #multiappmode— Patrick Welker (@_patrickwelker) June 8, 2015 Außerdem: Swift 2 Swift 2 ist nun Open Source. Sehr cool. "We paid out 30 billion dollars to app developers". Don't like this angle. It's our money, we pay Apple in fact.— Ortwin Gentz (@ortwingentz) June 8, 2015 Außerdem verkündet Tim, dass der Durchschnittsnutzer 119 Apps installiert hat. One More Thing:  Music So I get no new hardware because its a developer conference. What’s this music crap have to do with developers?— Paul Haddad (@tapbot_paul) June 8, 2015 Größeres, besseres Ökosystem für Musik. YouTube: “Shit.”— Marco Arment (@marcoarment) June 8, 2015 Handverlesene Musik “Connect” = Verbundener mit den Stars und Sternchen sein Beats-one combo (curation + radio) “revolutionary music service” “24/7 global radio” Seriously, how many times have we tried to have a social network for musicians? Seriously. I'm not sure this will work.— Christina Warren (@film_girl) June 8, 2015 Christina hat recht. Digging the prominence of playlists. I'm a curator. I never warmed up to the artist and album views… pic.twitter.com/UnRNsG8tIv— Patrick Welker (@_patrickwelker) June 8, 2015 Außerdem: Apple Music gibt’s im Herbst auch für Android. Die ersten 3 Monate sind kostenfrei. Sechsköpfige Familien zahlen $14.99. It's gonna take six people three months just to figure out what the hell this is.— Merlin Mann (@hotdogsladies) June 8, 2015 Lemke Software, der GraphicConverter und die Welt Thorsten erzählt uns erst einmal seit wann es mit Lemke Software gibt und wie alles angefangen hat.
