This week on Catalyst, Tammy is joined by Abhijit Sunil, Senior Analyst at Forrester Research, where he leads flagship research programs on IT sustainability, sustainability management, and climate risk. Abhijit traces his remarkable journey from designing robotics labs at IIT Bombay to consulting at Ericsson and McKinsey, before landing at Forrester where a flood of client questions about data center efficiency set him on the path to sustainability research. He shares how volunteering as a teacher in Mumbai's slums profoundly shaped his worldview—giving him a lens for seeing optimization and sustainability as deeply human issues, not just technical ones. Tammy and Abhijit also dig into the double-edged nature of AI, from its staggering energy demands to its extraordinary potential to democratize access, and why the answer to almost every big question in sustainability lives somewhere in the Goldilocks zone between extremes. Please note that the views expressed may not necessarily be those of NTT DATA.Links: Abhijit Sunil Learn more about Launch by NTT DATASee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Traditionally seen as a productivity flaw, time blindness is revealed here as a money problem, quietly undermining pricing, profits, and self-worth for solopreneurs with ADHD.This episode explores why common fixes like timers and time blocking miss the deeper issue, and instead, offers practical ways to design around the unique ADHD brain.Listeners can expect actionable tools—like range pricing, value-based pricing, and multipliers—to help create smarter, ADHD-friendly business practices.Key Takeaways: 1. Why time blindness is more of a money issue than a productivity problemMissed deadlines are visible, but it's the underpriced projects and unseen labor that are draining your profits.2. How the ADHD brain's sense of time impacts your pricing (and sends you into the red)3. Why accurate estimation is a myth—and what to do insteadSpoiler: The strategic move is to build pricing that works with your brainThe Three Places You're Losing MoneyThe invisible cost of time blindness shows up in three big ways in most service-based businesses—and maybe in yours too:● Quoting New Work: Saying “yes” to projects we've never done, referencing a project that only looks similar, and then confidently (but cluelessly) assigning a price. Inevitably, unknowns explode, and you end up working for free● Scoping Familiar Work: Every project you think you know by heart, but memory only shows you the highlight reel.● Hidden Labor: The worst offender. All the little admin tasks, endless revisions, back-and-forth emails, and extra meetings never get included in my quote. They don't feel like “billable” work, but they devour hours and energy in unpaid work.Six Pricing Strategies that Correct The Effects of Time Blindness:● Range Pricing: Quote within a range, not a fixed number.● Value-Based Pricing: Charge for outcomes, not hours.● Multipliers & Buffers: Take your default quote and multiply it (1.5x, 2x, even 2.5x if you're feeling brave).● Project vs. Hourly Pricing: Bill by project, not hours, so you're aren't penalized for hyperfocus sprints● Built-In Revision Rounds & Communication Caps: Set clear boundaries on extra work and comms, and make it official.Time blindness isn't going away—but by meeting your brain where it is, you can transform ADHD traits from liabilities into business assets. Design your pricing not despite your ADHD, but in partnership with it—and start keeping your hard-earned money where it belongs: in your business.Try The Multiplier Experiment on your next proposal:1. Write down the number you want to send.2. Multiply it by 1.5x (or higher—it should feel just a bit stretchy).3. Send that quote. Notice the resistance, the stories, the “what ifs.”4. Collect the data: Did the client say yes? No? What did you learn?Every proposal is a data point for better pricing decisions. Marketing leaders are being asked to drive more growth with less budget, fewer resources, tighter timelines, and more pressure from every direction while AI is being treated like the shortcut to replace entire marketing teams. But AI will not fix bad strategy, weak alignment, poor customer understanding, or broken marketing fundamentals. In part two of this master class conversation with Matt Hummel, CMO of Pipeline360, the focus moves into what it really takes to become the kind of CMO AI cannot replace. Not by chasing every new tool, adding more MarTech, or hiding behind automation, but by understanding the business as a whole, building trust across departments, speaking the language of revenue, and creating alignment between marketing, sales, product, leadership, and the customer. To lead marketing in a volatile market where expectations keep rising and the old playbook is no longer enough, you need to know how to: • Make sales an ally instead of your bitter rival • Build shared pipeline ownership across marketing and sales • Communicate risk without becoming defensive • Connect marketing decisions to the larger goals of the business • Set clearer expectations with your team and leadership • Understand resource constraints without using them as excuses • Stay close to customers while leading strategy • Create momentum without pretending there is an easy button The best marketing leaders are not just managing campaigns, tools, reports, and dashboards. They are translating complexity into strategy the business can trust. The reminder is clear: AI will not fix bad strategy. More MarTech will not fix bad marketing. The CMO AI cannot replace is the one who understands the business, earns trust, aligns with sales, leads the team, knows the customer, and gets back to real marketing when everyone else is hiding behind tools. Marketing leadership has become one of the most volatile seats in business. CMOs and marketing leaders are often expected to create immediate pipeline, prove instant ROI, fix deeper business issues they did not create, defend brand investment, align sales, understand customers, translate strategy across the organization, and still become one of the first functions questioned, blamed, or cut when growth slows. In part one of this master class conversation, Matt Hummel, CMO of Pipeline360, brings a clear reminder back to the table: great marketing starts with trusting the buyer, knowing the customer, and simplifying how you market. In a market obsessed with performance data, attribution, automation, dark social, buyer signals, and immediate results, more complexity does not automatically create better customer understanding. For aspiring CMOs, current CMOs, marketing leaders, founders, and business owners, this conversation is a valuable look at how to lead marketing without getting trapped in the pressure cooker. It challenges you to rethink what it really means to put the customer at the center, not as a tagline, not as another automation workflow, and not as another dashboard filled with signals, but as a deeper responsibility to understand the person, pressure, timing, risk, and decision behind the purchase. The conversation moves through buyer trust, brand versus demand, customer empathy, attribution, sales alignment, CMO pressure, market timing, and the difference between chasing pipeline and building LTV. It is also a reminder to get out of your lane, understand product, spend time with sales, listen to customers, and learn how the whole business works. Because the best CMOs are not just campaign operators. They are translators, mediators, trust builders, and business leaders who know how to connect marketing to revenue, customer experience, and long term growth. Growth does not get blocked by lack of hustle; it gets blocked by lack of structure. I sit down with Antwon Person, founder of Skillful Brands and a retired U.S. Army senior officer, to talk about what actually helps entrepreneurs move from scattered effort to a real company that can scale. If you have ever felt buried in tasks, unsure what to build next, or stuck at a “growth ceiling,” this conversation gives you a clear path forward. We get practical about the three S's Antoine teaches: structure, systems, and strategy. We talk about why many businesses stall instead of failing, how mentorship and mastermind communities help you break past your current level of knowledge, and why the first six months matter so much for business structure, asset protection, and future financing. If you want business credit or loans later, the foundation you lay early makes a difference. We also dig into modern remote leadership. Antoine shares how he runs a virtual headquarters that feels like a real office, with coworking spaces and meeting and training rooms, so remote teams can collaborate without endless email chains. Then we get into delegation and virtual assistants: when to hire, why a manager can free you up for strategic growth, and how SOPs and a solid onboarding process turn VAs into assets instead of added stress. If you find value here, subscribe, share the episode with a founder friend, and leave a quick review so more entrepreneurs can build with clarity.Learn more at SkillfulBrands.comSend us a messageBuzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched!Start for FREEAltogether Domains, Hosting and MoreBringing your business online - domain names, web design, branded email, security, hosting and more.Digital Marketing PlatformContent Creator Machine - The integrated all-in-one online marketing platform.Small Business Legal ServicesYour Small Business Legal Plan can help with any business legal matter.Mens and Womens HatsSince 1972, American Hat Makers has been dedicated to the art of fine hat making.Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. Brian walks through his own mind map live - the one he drew in 2023 before making his first dollar in business - and shows how Action Academy, Sexton World, Sexton Hospitality, and his business and real estate fund all connect and feed each other like a flywheel. Plus, he shares the "plant trees, manage orchards" framework that changed how he thinks about building and scaling businesses for the long term.Curious as to how we've bought multiple businesses and built millions in equity? Welcome back to ADHD-ish™, where we're kicking off a five-episode series reframing the most talked-about ADHD traits as tools for entrepreneurial success, starting with hyperfocus.Forget the myth that hyperfocus is a rare, unpredictable gift. ADHD-ish™ host, Diann Wingert, reveals that the most successful ADHD entrepreneurs create the conditions for hyperfocus rather than hoping it just shows up.Here's the game-changing insight:Hyperfocus is a state, not a fixed trait—and you can stack the deck to get into it on demand.3 Key Takeaways:Engineer Your Hyperfocus: Don't wait for the muse—set up conditions like real deadlines, novel environments, meaningful rewards, supportive sensory cues, and a nourished body to invite focus on demand.Body Doubling is a Real Strategy: Working alongside others—friends on Zoom, coworking sessions, or even a busy coffee shop—provides social accountability and can reliably spark focus.Stack Conditions, Not Guilt: Hyperfocus isn't about willpower; it's about stacking multiple supportive factors. Even intentionally stacking just two of these can create momentum in your business.Hyperfocus can be a genuine business asset—if you learn to direct it. But, there are hidden costs to hyperfocus, too:Mental exhaustion and decision fatigueNeglected relationshipsOther parts of your business are left idleRemember: Hyperfocus is a power tool. Use it wisely—and plan for the comedown. What's My Hyperfocus Setup? In my own business, I decide, ahead of time, exactly what needs my hyper-focused attention and how much time I'll devote to it.The routine is precise: comfortable clothes, a high-protein breakfast, natural light, a pre-game ritual of exercise, sunshine, and social connection. And hydration throughout the hyperfocused state. No brain jerky for me.What's not in my routine: willpower, white-knuckling, bullying myself or shame. The environment is repeatable, the stakes are real, and the body, mind, and brain are primed and ready. After it's over? Rest, recalibration, and reconnection.Hyperfocus as Skill - Start Here:Pick one 90-minute block of business-critical work.Deliberately create at least two of the five conditions above.Do the work—and observe the impact on your focus.Don't be an overachiever and do all five. Start small, track the effect, and iterate. It's not a productivity contest—it's your personal hyperfocus experiment.Resources mentioned in this episode:Focus MateFocused Space (affiliate link)Zoom Spotify playlistsYour ADHD-ish ™ host, Diann Wingert Diann Wingert is a business strategist, coach, serial entrepreneur, former psychotherapist, and passionate thought leader at the intersection of ADHD and entrepreneurship. In addition to hosting the ADHD-ish ™ podcast, Diann is the creator of The ADHD-ish ™ Method, a practicing Buddhist, dog mom, and relentlessly curious human.Diann explains neuroscience in a relatable way. Hiring a coach can absolutely change your business. Lord knows it has mine! It can also challenge your identity, your habits, your leadership, your willingness to change, and the stories you've been telling yourself about what's possible.Yeah. ALL of that.So in this episode, I want to slow that conversation down a bit.Because before you start searching for the right coach, the more important question to ask yourself is: are you actually ready for coaching - at all?In this conversation, I'll walk you through 5 great questions every private practice owner should ask themselves before making that leap — whether your business feels stuck, overwhelming, wildly successful, or somewhere in between! In this episode, you'll learn…Why coaching is about way more than strategy or accountability. The uncomfortable truth about growth, leadership, and change. (You know this part!)What it really means to be “coachable”... (Are you?)Why timing matters when investing in this level of supportThe difference between looking for rescue… and learning to lead.

"It would be humanity's biggest ever unforced error."Silicon Valley has changed its tune. After years of warning us their AI was going to take all the jobs, the big AI companies — and their investors — would now rather we stop talking about it. A16Z calls the jobs apocalypse talk "unhelpful marketing, bad economics, and worse history" (note the order). Even writers Dan trusts more, like Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson, have lately poured cold water on the idea.Calum Chace is not so blasé.Ten years ago, Calum coined the term and wrote the book, The Economic Singularity — the moment machines can do every job we'd pay a human to do, cheaper and better. He thinks we're fast approaching that event horizon, and we'd better have a plan for what a world without paid work actually looks like.Calum is also the co-founder of Conscium, which verifies AI agents before they do something they shouldn't. He's a self-described "apocaloptimist" — he thinks full automation could be the best thing that ever happens to humanity, or the worst, depending on whether we bother to plan for it now.In this episode:Why Calum thinks full automation is inevitable (and roughly when)The "apocaloptimist" case: why this could be the best thing to ever happen to usWhat the bad version looks like — and how fast it could unravelWhat COVID accidentally taught us about distributing money at scaleWhy self-driving cars didn't wake us up — and what mightThe AI agent that wiped a company's database and confessed it just "guessed"What Calum is building at Conscium to verify AI agents before they do worsePractical advice for parents, students, and anyone trying to plan a careerSupport Future Around & Find OutFollow Dan on LinkedInGet the free newsletterBecome a paid subscriber and help future proof FAFO!---Music by Jonathan Zalben
AI has made it easier than ever to move faster, produce more, automate workflows, and build leaner systems, but speed alone does not create sustainable growth. Part one of this connected conversation challenges the belief that constant sacrifice, permanent sprint mode, and “all gas, no brakes” ambition should be the default path for entrepreneurs, founders, creators, and growth-minded leaders trying to grow faster with AI. The danger is not just moving faster. The danger is believing faster means you can handle more without consequence. AI can support execution, ideation, communication, and productivity, but it cannot replace judgment, self-trust, infrastructure, recovery, or the human capacity required to sustain what you are building. A necessary sprint is different from self-abandonment. A sprint has a reason, a start, a finish, a communication plan, a recovery plan, and a purpose everyone understands. Permanent sacrifice has no finish line, no recovery plan, and often leaves your health, family, peace, relationships, and capacity quietly paying the invoice. Challenge yourself to “Face Your Actual 24” and not your fantasy version of productivity. Look honestly at what your day requires, what needs protection, what needs to move forward, and where AI can support your systems without becoming a substitute for discipline, boundaries, discernment, or real infrastructure. Growth should include “pockets of sunshine” inside the life you are actually living, not just a future version of success you hope will finally give you permission to breathe. This is not anti-AI, anti-growth, or anti-ambition. It is a wake-up call to stop treating sacrifice as the strategy. Growth should not require losing yourself, your family, your health, or your peace in the process, because if the business grows but the life around it breaks, what are you really building? The culture is obsessed with speed, scale, lean teams, massive output, and automation, but faster output does not automatically mean better direction. In part two of this connected conversation, the focus shifts to the missing human layer underneath AI-powered growth and the belief that more content, more automation, and more velocity always lead to better outcomes. Using S³ Growth Streams™ as the operating lens, you will learn how to strategize before accelerating, synergize before scaling, and systemize before sprinting forever. More importantly, you will see how to separate signal from noise, align tools with real human capacity, and build repeatable rhythms that support growth without requiring constant sacrifice. This episode is not anti-AI, anti-hustle, or anti-ambition. It is anti-default sacrifice, anti-permanent sprint, and anti-output without awareness. It also challenges the obsession with flow state by introducing five operating states that support sustainable growth: capture, clarity, commitment, flow, and reflection. Because flow is not the whole game. Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is capture the signal, get clarity, commit to the right action, recover, reflect, and return to baseline before sprinting again. The goal is not to become more machine-like. The goal is to become more intentionally human while using machines wisely. I used to think burnout meant I needed rest. More sleep. A vacation. Better boundaries. A weekend off.But the truth? Burnout was actually exposing the holes in my business strategy. In this episode, I'm sharing a very real conversation about what burnout actually looks like when you're trying to balance a 9-to-5, a growing side hustle, content creation, life responsibilities, and somehow still maintain work life balance without completely losing yourself in the process.Because if you've ever opened your laptop and had absolutely nothing left to give… girl, I know that feeling. And I need you to know this: Burnout does not mean you're not cut out to be a successful female entrepreneur. In This Episode, I Talk About: Why I believe burnout is a business diagnostic, not just exhaustion The moment I realized my business strategy didn't account for my actual human capacity Why rest alone won't solve burnout The difference between having time and having capacity My “Capacity Equation” and why energy matters just as much as hours How adrenaline helped me start my business — but couldn't sustain it The Needle-Moving Test I use to prioritize what actually matters The “Stop, Swap, Shift” framework we teach inside The Reset Room Why recovery has to be built into your business systems before burnout hits Key Takeaways:✨ Burnout is usually a systems problem, not a personal failure ✨ Time without energy still equals zero capacity ✨ Not everything in your business deserves the same level of urgency ✨ Sustainable growth requires intentional recovery ✨ Simplifying your business is strategic, not lazyFree 5-Minute TrainingEvery woman I know who successfully built a business while working a 9-to-5 followed the same four steps — and almost all of them tried to skip step one.So I created a free 5-minute training specifically for the woman who is still clocking into work every day while trying to build something bigger on the side.➡️ Watch the free training here: build.bossbabereset.comJoin The Reset RoomIf you're ready to build your business in a way that actually supports your life instead of draining it, The Reset Room was created for you.Inside, I teach sustainable systems, capacity management, visibility strategies, and frameworks that help female entrepreneurs grow without running themselves into the ground. Please leave a 5-star rating and review. Do you feel like you are doing all the right things in your business… praying, planning, showing up, working hard… yet nothing seems to be moving forward? Maybe you have started wondering if God forgot about the dream He placed on your heart. Or maybe you are quietly asking yourself why the business strategy you're pouring so much time into still isn't producing the success you desire. In today's episode, I am sharing a truth that completely changed the way I approach business. Because sometimes the reason your business feels overwhelming, exhausting, and frustrating is not that you are failing. It may be because God never asked you to build it that way in the first place. You cannot hustle your way into God's blessing. This conversation will help you release the pressure to strive harder and instead invite God back into the center of your business decisions. We are talking about surrender, obedience, alignment, and how to discern whether the strategy you are chasing is actually the one God has called you to pursue. If you have been feeling tired, discouraged, confused, or stuck despite working harder than ever, this episode is going to feel like freedom. I pray this episode reminds you that you do not have to force what God has not called you to carry. His plans for you will never require you to abandon your peace, your priorities, or your dependence on Him. Ready to build your business with God instead of just for God? I think this answer is going to set you free. I pray this blesses you! If this episode hit close to home, I have something for you… but you need to act fast. For just a little while longer, you can grab the Profitable Podcast Bootcamp for only $7.
