Dieser Name ist bemerkenswert klangvoll und schön. Und er ist echt, also kein Künstlername, wie man mit Blick auf Niki de Saint Phalles Kunst vielleicht meinen könnte. Übersetzt heißt er nämlich „vom heiligen Phallus“ und vereint das Heilige und das Sexuelle in einem Namen. Niki de Saint Phalle wurde am 29.* Oktober 1930 als Catherine Marie-Agnès Fal de Saint Phalle in Neuilly-sur-Seine, in einem sehr vornehmen Vorort von Paris geboren. Und das exakt ein Jahr nach dem Börsencrash, der nicht nur die Weltwirtschaft ins Wanken, sondern auch die Familie in erhebliche finanzielle Schwierigkeiten brachte. Nikis Vater war Investmentbanker und nur wenige Monate nach ihrer Geburt wurde seine Finanzgesellschaft geschlossen. Die Eltern zogen mit Nikis ältestem Bruder in einen Vorort von New York City und ließen die erst 3 Monate alte Niki in der Obhut ihrer Großeltern. Das erste von einigen Traumata, die die kleine Niki in ihrer Kindheit durchlebt. Es werden weitere folgen, die physische und sexuelle Gewalt betreffen. Diese seelischen Verletzungen haben Niki de Saint Phalle Zeit ihres Lebens beschäftigt und begleitet. Nur ihre Kunst vermochte eine therapeutische, heilende Wirkung auf sie auszuüben. Wir unternehmen in dieser Folge eine Reise durch das Leben eines außergewöhnlichen Künstlerin, deren Werke, insbesondere ihre farbenfrohen, fröhlichen „Nanas“ als als eine Art Befreiung und feministisches Manifest zu deuten sind. Niki de Saint Phalle hat sich ihren Ängsten gestellt und konnte sich am Ende doch ein Stückweit heilen. Der Weg dahin ebnen viele Weggefährten, ihre Partner und Freund*innen, die auch in dieser Episode erwähnt werden. Am Ende zeigen wir hoffentlich das Bild einer starken Frau, die einzigartige, lebensbejahende Figuren schuf, die bis heute viele Menschen - und das nicht nur in Hannover - erfreut. Es gibt viele Krisen auf der Welt, aber nur für eine haben die Menschen in Deutschland viel gespendet – nämlich für die Ukraine. Das ist das aktuelle Fazit der Kindernothilfe. Fünf Prozent mehr Spenden habe es im vergangenen Jahr gegeben, allerdings zweckgebunden für die Menschen, die in der Ukraine im Krieg leben, erklärt Katrin Weidemann, Vorstandsvorsitzende der Kindernothilfe. "Viele andere Krisen sind medial kaum vorgekommen, dementsprechend gering war dafür auch die Spendenbereitschaft“, so Weidemann im SWR2-Tagesgespräch. Dabei habe Pakistan vergangenes Jahr eine Jahrhundertflut erlebt und die Länder in Ostafrika eine Dürre wie seit 40 Jahren nicht mehr. Von der Politik fordert Weidemann aber vor allem einen anderen Umgang mit Geflüchteten an den EU-Außengrenzen. "Kinderrechte werden dort mit Füßen getreten, Kinder unter 18 Jahren werden in Gefängnis-ähnlichen Einrichtungen untergebracht“, meint Weidemann. Weder das Kindeswohl noch die Würde des Menschen würden dort gewahrt.

Der Jugendmigrationsdienst der Caritas Aachen unterstützt, als einer von ca. 500 Anlaufstellen bundesweit, junge Menschen mit Migrations- oder Fluchthintergrund im Alter von 12 bis 27 Jahren durch Beratungs-, Bildungs- und Freizeitangebote. Ziel ist es, die soziale Teilhabe zu fördern und somit die (Zukunfts-) Perspektiven zu verbessern. Denn junge Menschen aus dieser Altersgruppe sind am stärksten von Armut bedroht. Das Armutsrisiko steigt zudem, wenn Migrationshintergrund und eine niedrige schulische u./o. berufliche Qualifikation hinzukommen. Der Zugang zu Bildung spielt somit eine sehr wichtige Rolle. Marinko und Jannik beraten hierbei individuell und langfristig, informieren u.a. über unser Schul-, Studien- und Ausbildungssystem und begleiten nicht nur während des Integrationsprozesses, sondern vor allem auch bei den Herausforderungen und Problemen des Alltags. So soll auch das Einleben in Aachen und der Städteregion erleichtert werden. Isabelle ist als Respekt Coachin präventiv an Kooperationsschulen unterwegs, umso nicht nur Respekt, Toleranz und den Abbau von Vorurteilen zu fördern, sondern im Rahmen von Workshops auch Selbstwirksamkeit und Zivilcourage zu stärken und demokratische Werte erlebbar zu machen. Kurt Weidemann (1922-2011) war einer der prägenden Gestalter und Typografen des 20. Jahrhunderts. Von ihm stammen Corporate Designs zahlreicher Konzerne, neben Mercedes Benz, der Deutsche Bahn, Porsche und Zeiss gehört auch co op dazu. Die von ihm gezeichnete Schriftfamilie Corporate A.S.E. für Mercedes Benz gehören zu den weltweit besten Corporate Schriften. Die Biblica (1979), die ITC Weidemann und die Klett Domus sind herausragende Beispiele für perfekt durchgearbeitete Schriften. Er studierte an der Staatlichen Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart, wo er später auch lehrte. Von 1965 bis 1985 hatte er den Lehrstuhl für „Information und Grafische Praxis“ inne. Neben seiner typografischen Tätigkeit und seinen Corporate Designs ist seine schriftstellerische Tätigkeit bemerkenswert. Er pflegte, nicht zuletzt durch ein regelmäßiges Culturfrühstück bei ihm zu Hause, einen großen Freundeskreis und war mit zahlreichen Künstlern aller Genres, sowie mit Politikern und Wirtschaftsführern von Weltrang eng befreundet. Thomas Rempen (*1945) studierte an der Kunstakademie Stuttgart u.a. bei Kurt Weidemann. Später arbeitete er mit Kurt Weidemann u.a. für den Kunden Daimler Benz und war ihm lebenslang als Freund verbunden. Nach dem Diplom an der Werkkunstschule Wuppertal gründete er 1972 mit Partnern seine erste Werbeagentur. Rempen & Partner, seine 1994 gegründete zweite Agentur, zählte zu den kreativsten des Landes. Die Agentur-Tochter wysiwyg software design konzipiert mit „Spiegel Online“ das erste Online-Magazin der Welt. Im Anschluss an die erfolglosen Suche nach geeigneten Büroräumen, entwickelte er 1989 mit der Stadt Düsseldorf für den alten Hafen einen Architekturpark. Dort baute er mit Frank Gehry von 1994 -98 den Neuen Zollhof. Thomas Rempen lebt heute im Münsterland, wo er auf dem eigenen Biolandbau-Betrieb als Projektentwickler arbeitet. 2011 bekam er das Verdienstkreuz 1. Klasse der Bundesrepublik Deutschland zuerkannt.

Kayla Weidemann (IG: @kwoo_weid) is a grain and sheep farmer from the Wimmera in Victoria. She's 29 years old, and married with an 8-week-old baby boy. In her life prior to the farm, Kayla was a Chartered Accountant, but followed her heart to become a full-time farmer with her husband a few years ago. She still dabbles in some accounting with her own small bookkeeping business and is on various committees and groups. Kayla enjoys being involved in community sports and activities and holds positions on Grampians Tourism Board and the Birchip Cropping Group Board. Birchip Cropping Group Inc. (BCG) is a not-for-profit agricultural research and extension organisation led by farmers from the Wimmera and Mallee regions of Victoria. Abstract: Endogenous variation in brain state and stimulus-specific evoked activity can both contribute to successful encoding. Previous studies, however, have not clearly distinguished among these components. We address this question by analyzing intracranial EEG recorded from epilepsy patients as they studied and subsequently recalled lists of words. We first trained classifiers to predict recall of either single items or entire lists and found that both classifiers exhibited similar performance. We found that list-level classifier output -- a biomarker of successful encoding -- tracked item presentation and recall events, despite having no information about the trial structure. Across widespread brain regions, decreased low- and increased high-frequency activity (HFA) marked successful encoding of both items and lists. We found regional differences in the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex, where in the hippocampus HFA correlated more strongly with item recall, whereas in the prefrontal cortex HFA correlated more strongly with list performance. Despite subtle differences in item- and list-level features, the similarity in overall classification performance, spectral signatures of successful recall, and fluctuations of spectral activity across the encoding period argue for a shared endogenous process that causally impacts the brain's ability to learn new information. The' Weed' who was well-known for his long golden locks and goatee, spent six seasons at the Crows, playing 68 games and kicking 26 goals. Isabelle Weidemann is having a year. The Canadian speedskater is number one in 3000 and 5000 meter racing. She is the woman the rest of the world is chasing, heading into the Beijing Olympics. Weidemann is also the acknowledged diesel engine in Canada's pursuit trio, along with Ivanie Blondin and Valérie Maltais. Why Diesel? Because once the lanky 26 year-old gets up to speed, she has fantastic efficiency and endurance. Weidemann hauls her teammates in her wake for extraordinarily long distances. Weidemann hunkered down for a chat with her old teammate Anastasia, at home in Calgary, a short jog from the Olympic Oval. The Ottawa-born skater is as surprised as anyone to find herself a team veteran. Time flies when you are logging hundreds of hours toward saving fractions of seconds. One of the surprises for Weidemann, amid the inevitable slog of training, is the recognition that try as she might in every way to be a better athlete, life away from the ice has more influence than most people acknowledge. The week she got a new puppy was also the week Weidemann smashed personal goals in training. A trip out of town with family set off a streak of racing successes. It happens too often to be a coincidence. For the truly driven athlete…there's an art to discovering when and how to step back, take the foot off the gas, and return to even greater results. Anastasia has often said Isabelle Weidemann is one of the most underrated athletes in Canada. On this episode I sat with friend Michael Weidemann. Fun fact about Michael, he designed the logo for This is Oklahoma a long time ago when this was just getting started.  Michael started out as a photographer, his Dad was a photographer and as a kid they'd go on roadtrips all over the country. Stopping to take pictures a long the way, which at the time really annoyed a younger Michael. Until his father gave him a camera to take on one of his field trips with school. He was hooked. If you know Michael, you'll know that he's very good with a camera in his hand. As most people breaking into the profession of photography he took to shooting weddings. Michael decided to target everyone across the country for weddings, and not to compete with the saturated market in OKC. After his success using SEO and other marketing skills he decided to offer this help to other businesses. Helping them generate leads, get more clicks on their ads and bring more people to their websites. Michael started his new business called Tallgrass Supply Co to put his own methods into practice. What better way to show how good you are at what you do than to show them your own numbers and success. Michael's business is growing and so is his client list. According to authorities Seth Weidemann used the internet to try to exploit a vulnerable child for sexual gratification. According to authorities Weidemann began communicating with an undercover agent in January of 2019, thinking he was talking to an 11-year-old girl. Weidemann sent multiple messages trying to meet with the minor for sex. Unbeknownst to him, he was setting himself up for a trap, a sting if you will. Weidemann at one point was sending explicit messages describing what he wanted to do with the intended minor. Little did he know his disgusting low life massages were being recorded and as the Miranda rights quotes "Anything you say may be used against you in a court of law." and what you write on the internet is just like saying it. On February 14, 2019, Weidemann traveled to the Atlanta area for a meeting with the child and was immediately arrested by FBI agents lying in wait for him! Sentencing Weidemann was sentenced to 17 years in prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release. Officials say Weidemann had been convicted on October 16, 2019, after he pleaded guilty to one count of attempted coercion and enticement of a minor. She is the proud wife of Jonathan and mom of four girls. Wynter has made it her mission is to empower and equip girls to walk boldly into becoming who God has created them to be (sound familiar?) and to provide parents with the resources and support needed to raise strong Christ followers. That's the goal: to walk alongside our girls as they live out their God-breathed destinies. To do that, we've got to remember that everything we have belongs to God, even them. Kurt Weidemann collects fine art, 20th century paintings. Due to his redesign Deutsche Bahn could save half a million Marks a year on paint. He considers his own book his most important work. He even still buys copies himself. He believes his designs should lasts 10 to 30 years before becoming out-of-date. He talks about his three children and raising them. Kurt Weidemann designed corporate identities for Mercedes, DaimlerChrysler, German Aerospace and Deutsche Bahn. And he wouldn’t do anything different if he could. He thinks his designs are still good, some even after 20, 30 years. Still he handles critique well. He is critical about politics and politicians, but social awareness is important in his design work. He would never work for the tobacco industry for instance, although he did work for the Lucky Strike Design Award, that he received himself as well in 1995. His type design hero is personal friend Jan Tschichold. He can’t think of any other heroes than his fellow soldiers. He then goes into his personal motivations and situations during the second world war, that shaped him and the rest of his life. Kurt Weidemann doesn’t regard himself religious, although he calls himself Christ (the literal German word for ‘christian’). He says he is too simple to have rituals. He never relaxes, gets up at 5 every morning and works all day. He talks about his life in World War II, fighting the Russians as a soldier and surviving the prisoner of war camp afterwards. Weidemann studied fine art in Stuttgart, later became a professor at the same academy. He founded a private university for management in Koblenz. He stresses the importance of management in the field of design. He still teaches at several German universities. Weidemann thinks it is very important to renew your knowledge as a teacher. He sees his students more as partners, in order to get closer to them and get better results. He sees little difference in being a consultant or a designer, either way you have to convince people. you can’t be just a consultant nor just a designer, due to the fierce competition in design.
