We're taking turns choosing between Truth or Dare and randomly pulling from a collection of questions and challenges covering Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland, and general vacation planning. But which ones did we actually pull? You'll have to listen to find out. When Stuck in the '80s was just getting started, we somehow convinced Adam Curry to talk to us. This was our second-ever celebrity interview, and Curry came armed with exactly the kind of stories we hoped an MTV VJ would have. Madonna. Sebastian Bach. Moscow. Richard Marx. And that's just for starters. In this classic Stuck in the '80s interview, former MTV VJ Adam Curry takes us behind the scenes of Music Television during its glory years and shares some wonderfully strange stories from life at the center of '80s and early '90s pop culture. Adam Curry and the Glory Days of MTV Curry joined MTV in 1987, arriving when the network was still one of the most powerful forces in music. For young fans, MTV VJs had one of the greatest jobs imaginable. They introduced videos, interviewed rock stars, traveled the world and seemingly had unlimited access to the artists the rest of us only saw on television. Curry became one of the network's most recognizable personalities, hosting Headbangers Ball and other MTV programs while interviewing some of the biggest stars in music. And occasionally things got weird. Adam Curry, Sebastian Bach and Red Square One of Curry's more surreal MTV adventures involved traveling to the Soviet Union and visiting Red Square in Moscow with Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach. Just consider that sentence for a moment. An MTV VJ and the lead singer of Skid Row wandering around Moscow as the Cold War was winding down. The '80s really did produce some strange combinations. Curry takes us inside that adventure and recalls what it was like experiencing a historic moment while working for a network that had become synonymous with American youth culture. Appearing With Madonna in Truth or Dare Curry also found himself in the orbit of Madonna, eventually appearing in her 1991 documentary Madonna: Truth or Dare. Yes, 1991 is technically outside our jurisdiction. We're allowing it. The landmark documentary offered an unusually intimate look at Madonna during her Blond Ambition tour, and Curry shares the story of how he ended up making an appearance. Adam Curry vs. Richard Marx And then there's Richard Marx. Curry and Marx had a very public disagreement — the kind of feud that was considerably harder to conduct before social media gave celebrities the ability to argue with each other 24 hours a day. What started it? How serious did it get? And what happened when the MTV VJ and the “Right Here Waiting” singer found themselves on opposite sides of a very public fight? Curry tells the story. By the time we talked with Curry, he had become one of the key figures in the early development of podcasting. That made him a particularly appropriate guest for a little podcast that had only recently begun trying to figure out this strange new medium itself. Nearly two decades later, we're still here. Shame, guilt, and regret can make us feel like we are still paying for our past mistakes, but Jesus paid for our sins once and for all. Through His sacrifice on the cross, we can receive God’s grace, mercy, forgiveness, and freedom from condemnation rather than trying to earn our way back into God’s favor. When guilt makes you feel unworthy of God’s love, Scripture reminds us that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Full Transcript Below: Jesus Paid for Our Sins By Alexis A. Goring Bible Reading:“He does not treat us as our sins deserve. He does not repay us according to our guilty deeds.” - Psalm 103:10 EHV When someone was having a bad day, he said, “I am paying for my sins.” This statement and belief many people hold is not true because the Bible says Jesus Christ paid it all (1 Peter 2:24, Romans 6:23) and God doesn’t deal with us as our sins deserve (Psalm 103:10). I know that I have struggled with this when shame, guilt, and despair hit me as my mind recalls everything I said or did wrong. While God doesn’t keep a record of our sins after we ask Him to forgive us, we sure can tally up everything in our minds. When we do that, it feels like we must pay for our sins. We may feel remorse and want to fix things. But the truth is, we cannot fix the past, the present, or our future. This is one of the reasons why we need Jesus Christ in our lives. He is our Savior. God is full of grace and mercy. While He will discipline us like a loving parent would (Hebrews 12:5-6), and while there are always consequences to our sins that we might experience, never do we have to feel the need to pay for our sins because Christ already did that on the Cross at Calvary. The Bible says He who knew no sin became sin for us (2 Corinthians 5:21) so that we may be reconciled to God. Isn’t that wonderful to know? What a relief that our Savior has already done the heavy lifting. We just need to repent of our sins, turn away from our sins, believe in God, obey the Holy Spirit, and follow Jesus all the way to Heaven. When I shared with a Christian friend my struggle of feeling burdened by my past mistakes and sins, she reminded me of Romans 8:1-2 (NIV). It says, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” The first time she told me this, I struggled to believe it because I felt guilty as charged concerning my sins and mistakes. I wanted to make things right with God. I felt like I had to work my way back into His grace and mercy. But the Bible doesn’t say that. Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV) says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” God knows we’re not perfect because we’re only human. Even our best efforts to be perfect may eventually fail. No matter how hard we try, we cannot work our way into Heaven by our righteous acts and desire to please God. The Bible says in Isaiah 64:6 (NIV), “All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.” But thank God for His grace and mercy! He knows we need it. The Bible says that Christ is our Advocate when we sin and are guilty as charged (1 John 2:1). He knows we’re not perfect, and He wants to help us. The Bible says that Jesus is at the right hand of God, interceding for us (Romans 8:34). Jesus reminds God about His sacrifice for us (John 3:16-17). We are covered by the blood of Jesus (Ephesians 1:7) so that God sees His perfect Son (Jesus) when He looks at us, not our imperfections and sins. Though this is not an excuse to keep sinning and take advantage of God’s grace, because eventually, time will run out, and when we see Jesus returning to earth to take His children home to Heaven, it will be too late to repent and ask forgiveness for our sins (Revelation 22:11-15). Let’s circle back to my original point, which I mentioned at the start of this devotional, about feeling like we suffer because we are paying the penalty for our sins. Oftentimes, we as humans believe that if we are suffering, then it is because God is punishing us for our sins. Le poche testimonianze parlano di lite furibonda, probabilmente una morte violenta dovuta a motivi razziali. Un bianco ucciso da un gruppo di neri. Maraschino, inviato del giornale “La Civetta”, si ritrova a seguire il classico caso che sembra fatto apposta per riempire le pagine dei giornali con polemiche da ombrellone: immigrati sì, immigrati no, integrazione o espulsione. No matter how much time passes from when we have talked, I know that we have nothing worry about. The Left and all their minions have nothing with which they can get us. They have zero credibility. The fact that we pay any attention to them at all is a testament to their ability to create chaos from thin air. I know I repeat myself when I ask for anything they are doing that isn't fraught with fraud or failure? Dare we make a list? Let's go in the wayback machine to Eric Swalwell, the Democrat who was being groomed to be the next governor of CA. His sleeping with a ChiCom spy wasn't enough to dethrone him, but his sexual dalliances were.  And now his BFF AZ fake Senator Ruben Gallego may suffer the same fate. What is it with Democrats and their sexual deviants? These stories are particularly ironic, when you consider the trumped up case—pun intended—against Donald Trump regarding E Jean Carroll.  But if CA and AZ Democrats are bad, ME Democrat said, “Hold my latte!”, as they tried to select a Nazi rapist in Maine for the Senate. That's like giving a sports franchise to Ted Bundy. As you look at that story in the rearview mirror, ask yourself how deranged you must be to try to put Graham Platner by the American public. Forget that the Left think of Platner as their answer to conservative men, aka REAL men. But the notion that they could get their own people to agree to it is what I find most amazing. And they succeeded, until Platner became politically untenable. But if that story doesn't make you scratch your head, how about Governor Tim Walz in MN, releasing a rapist of a 10-yo girl, because he wanted to show mercy to a man who had a bad day. Essentially that was Walz' excuse for showing mercy to a rapist. He had a bad day.  Kevin Jackson has been called, the "white-collar" Joe Rogan.
