Dvě smlouvy má MBM rail i v závazku veřejné služby. Jde o provoz na Zubrnické museální železnici, kde si u nichturistické vlaky objednává Ústecký kraj a o trať z Bruntálu do Malé Morávky, kde provoz financuje Moravskoslezský kraj. „Věnovali jsme tomu spoustu času, dělali jsme to pečlivě a poctivě. Vozidla zajišťoval Lausitz Bahn, byla to německá firma a tam se muselo udělat pořádně všechno. Měli jsme to vyfutrované, připravené oběhy. To vám pak přijde líto, když vás někdo podrazí cenou,“ říká v podcastu Jiří Mužík. In this episode of After the Bell by Connex Academy, we explore Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) with our guest, Debbie Innis Turnill. We clarify these terms: Diversity recognizes differences, Inclusion ensures respect for all despite differences, and Equality seeks fairness while acknowledging diversity. The 2010 Equality Act and the 1988 Human Rights Act form the legal framework for EDI, emphasizing fairness, respect, and autonomy, particularly for individuals with protected characteristics.Debbie urges schools to consult their community and involve students, staff, governors, and parents in shaping their EDI approach. Challenging assumptions and promoting critical thinking are key, as demonstrated in discussions about teaching challenging texts. She emphasizes choosing inclusive language and involving those with protected characteristics in the decision-making process.Practical activities and case studies are recommended to embed EDI into all school activities. For further insights, access our recorded webinar with Debbie. Connex Academy offers EDI courses designed for global schools. Learn more at Connex-academy.com. Welcome back to After the Bell, presented by Connex Academy. At Connex, we're deeply committed to supporting schools and their staff with comprehensive training to ensure the safety and well-being of the children they serve. In this episode, we're joined by Debbie Innis Turnill, a seasoned educator and safeguarding consultant, discussing the powerful concept that behaviour is a form of communication. We explore how unmet needs, from basic necessities to complex emotional requirements, manifest in a child's behaviour. Debbie advocates for a shift in perspective, emphasizing the importance of understanding children as individuals facing unique challenges rather than viewing them as "challenging." We also delve into practical strategies for schools to teach, not just manage, their students, including trauma-informed practices, attachment-aware approaches, and co-regulation. Discover more insights by tuning into our recorded webinar with Debbie, and visit Connex-academy.com for information on our DfE-approved Senior Mental Health Lead training. Hosted on Acast. My view, and it's as long as the company supports this view, is you give, whether it's from me or from the partners that I partner with, you give the highest quality service, the most reliable service that you're looking for. At the most affordable rate, right? Not the reverse. You don't go out looking for what's the most affordable rate and then accept what's the highest quality and reliability I can get for that rate. I do it on the flip side, so I know that we're spending a little bit more than the cheapest possible, but that's because I can't dip below a certain level of quality and reliability.” - Kirk Beaudoin Time Stamps**(01:44) - Kirk's journey into facilities **(05:24) - Commitment to the North Star **(11:35) - Changing the mindset around facilities **(17:50) - Avoiding the pitfalls of facilities management **(28:34) - Tackling labor shortages **(36:34) - Kirk's passion for mentoring **(48:36) - Sid's final thoughts Sponsor:ServiceChannel brings you peace of mind through peak facilities performance.Rest easy knowing your locations are:Offering the best possible guest experienceLiving up to brand standardsOperating with minimal downtimeServiceChannel partners with more than 500 leading brands globally to provide visibility across operations, the flexibility to grow and adapt to consumer expectations, and accelerated performance from their asset fleet and service providers. Ed began his career working in industrial models and design in the late 1980's, fabricating prototypes and scale representations for government and private industries. In the early 1990's, Ed moved into manufacturing and industrial equipment, working as a production designer and manager in a factory setting. In the latter part of the 1990s, Ed served as VP of sales for a manufacturer of industrial printing and automation equipment, at a pivotal time when sales and marketing were beginning to move into the online arena. In 1997, Ed started New Media, an Internet services company offering web hosting, colocation, e-Commerce programming and payment processing services as a part-time effort. As the business evolved it became a full-time endeavor, with colocation and carrier services becoming a major focus. Eventually New Media was transformed into Connex Internet Services Inc, a colocation and Internet transit provider serving five regional US markets and beyond, utilizing the skills of dozens of engineers and technical staff. In January of 2014, Datacate and Connex merged into one company, with Ed taking on full-time sales and marketing duties. The new Datacate gained a more diverse client base and multi-site capability. While continuing to serve the needs of the colocation marketplace, Ed and his colleagues at Datacate are forging ahead into the decentralized future of a virtual and cloud-based computing universe. In November of 2016, Ed added business development for BlueDAG LLC to his responsibilities. BlueDAG's flagship ADA assessment software, delivered via the cloud to desktop and mobile devices, is a revolutionary development in the ADA compliance industry, with the power to reduce the time required to complete an accessibility audit by as much as 75%. Ed oversees the direct marketing and awareness initiatives to bring BlueDAG to the ADA compliance industry. For more information about Datacate go to https://www.datacate.net/

In a little town along the Ohio River called Portsmouth, there is a group of outdoor enthusiast that are attempting to take all the outdoor recreation the Scioto River Valley has to offer and spread it to the masses. It is a sad day in America. This week we discuss the life and legacy of civil right icons Congressman John Lewis & Rev. C.T. Vivian who both passed away on July 17. We honor them with a moment of silence and explore their impact on civil rights movements of today. During the “Pass the Aux Cord” segment, we review the pair of records released by DJ Khaled featuring Drake. We offer some funny takes on the debate of which is better: rapping Drake of singing Drake? We end the episode into a full blown debate on Megan Thee Stallion being shot in the foot and try to decipher fact vs fiction as to what involvement artist Tory Lanez had in the whole thing. We do know he was arrested for having a concealed gun and letting off shots, but we ask: was he actually shooting a Hot Girl Meg. This is another hilarious yet informative episode of The Connex Podcast featuring funnyman Dwain Watts, culture critic Kirs, and our Congressional insider KP. Whether it's the final scene of a movie, an off-shore site inspection or a life-saving search and rescue mission, the last thing a drone pilot needs is a bad delay on their video feed. That half-a-second delay could end up costing thousands of dollars, or even lives. Enter Amimon, a drone tech company that uses Connex technology to bring less than one millisecond of delay for a reach of over three kilometers. "We know that when first response need to act in a second, it's very important," said Aharon Kamhaji, sales account executive for Amimon. "If you're talking about for the cinematographer, every minute on the set costs a lot of money. Any time there's monitoring delay, it costs a lot of money." Kamhaji joined us from the InterDrone trade show floor to explain how critical low delay is for drone operators, as well as how collaboration and open sourced products are key for continued drone innovation.
