* How to build your own custom ChatGPT with OpenAI's GPT builder”OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, recently released a way for anyone to create their own version of ChatGPT. Here's how to build your own custom ChatGPT using OpenAI's GPT builder. “* Elon Musk Reveals His Super-Stupid Plan for Twitter's Endgame”Elon Musk appears to be running out of people to blame for what has been a cataclysmic collapse of X (formerly known as Twitter) during his tenure as that platform's overseer. But in a public appearance on Wednesday, he sketched out his dubious strategy for avoiding responsibility for the site's demise: As you might expect, it involved turning the finger of blame toward everyone but himself and naming corporations as the culprit for destroying the site through an ongoing advertising boycott of the platform. “* The Future of Microsoft: Why Investing Now Could Pay Off...
AI is the hottest topic in edtech currently. Come listen to MJ and Tony talk with Andrew Ko, former AWS and Mircosoft edtech leader and IETL member Michael Marassa, on the impacts and policy implications of AI in Illinois.
We have another episode of the Generative AI News (GAIN) rundown, which provides a live discussion of the week's top industry news. This week, the tech giants were out in force with news from Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, and OpenAI. Featured stories this week include: Alexa Gets an LLM - Amazon has had a large language model (LLM) for years, but never let it out of the lab until ChatGPT changed the market seemingly overnight. Amazon has fully embraced LLMs at this point and started to infuse it through AWS, and across its Alexa-enabled products and services. Eric and I discussed what was demonstrated this week, my hands-on experience with the capabilities, the limitations, and more inside details. Hour One Can Change What You Say in a Video - Hour One just launched a really interesting new feature that enables you to change what people say in a video. Add a new script or upload an audio file, and it will match the person's mouth and facial movements with the written text. This can be used for your own footage or stock video. Check out the demo here. Assistants on Parade - Google Bard got an upgrade this week with a connection to Google Workspace and other Google services. This may be truly useful and extend the value of Bard to a level of personalized benefit we have not yet seen in the market. Microsoft also announced Copilot will come to Windows 11 next week, and ChatGPT is expected to get access to DALL-E 3 text-to-image generation. This led to a more general discussion about digital assistants and the different models that are emerging. Generative AI winners and losers of the week. Generative AI News Links to the stories we covered this week are included below. Featured Stories of the Week

In the ongoing geopolitical battle between the United States and China, a new front has emerged, focusing on the open-source chip technology known as RISC-V. American lawmakers, citing national security concerns, are pressuring the Biden administration to place restrictions on U.S. companies' involvement in RISC-V, which is widely utilized in China. This technology competes with proprietary chip architectures from Arm and Intel and has applications ranging from smartphone chips to advanced artificial intelligence processors. The lawmakers fear that China is exploiting the culture of open collaboration among American companies to bolster its own semiconductor industry, potentially undermining the U.S.'s leadership in the chip field and supporting China's military modernization. We've spoken a lot about RISC-V and the US/China situation, so it's no surprise that these are coming together. How should we look at this situation? Apple, Mircosoft, Alphabet?

Vorige week nam Microsoft Activision Blizzard over. Over lekken. Alsof daar iets mis mee is.

Richtig: Moritz. Da sollten se mal drüber berichten. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Sering kali hal ini yang dilupakan sama pemilik bisnis convensional bahkan beberapa juga lupa sampai sekarang apa si aset paling penting dalam bisnis mereka? apakah gedung nya? apakah produknya? apakah team nya? hal penting inilah yang membuat Mircosoft membeli Skype dan Facebook membeli Instagram temukan semuanya disini!!
Updates on what to expect from the week ahead. A look into United States Oil (USO), Mircosoft and Netflix from a technical point of view.
Business Day TV — Drikus Combrinck from Capicraft chose Royal Dutch Shell as his stock pick of the day and Nesan Nair of Sasfin Securities chose Microsoft. Combrink said: "Royal Dutch Shell and oil company has a pristine balance sheet has a big dividend yield, obviously they can cut the yield but the oil price will return to more sustainable levels in due course, not sure when - it might be in 3 months or it might be in 3 years, it doesn't matter, for the long term investor this is a great entry point. This is the cheapest that you will see the energy sector for a very long time and this is one place where there is relative value." Nair said: "I'm going for Mircosoft, even after this 21-day work from home period lapses, more and more companies will realise the benefit of having employees work from home. It is going to be inevitable and Microsoft is the biggest corporate cloud provider in the world so I can see their revenue stream is going to be quite healthy for many years to come"

With the start of a new year, many Americans commit to resolutions and ambitious goals they hope to accomplish throughout the year’s end. Many organizations have ambitious goals as well, but all too often they fail to make these goals specific and connected to a deadline. UCLA’s creation of so-called “Grand Challenges” is a bold departure from such fuzzy, timid-by-comparison initiatives. UCLA’s Grand Challenges are inspiring endeavours to solve the most difficult societal problems by a fixed date by harnessing the University’s deep, diverse resources across disciplines. Leading UCLA’s Grand Challenge program is Michelle Popowitz. Michelle is the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research and Co-Founder of UCLA Grand Challenges. She received her Bachelor's degree in Sociology and a Masters of Public Health at UCLA and her Doctor of Law degree from Loyola Law School. Under Michelle’s leadership, UCLA was the first university to commit to solving a specific societal grand challenge. What You’ll Hear On This Episode of When Science Speaks [1:10] Mark introduces his guest, Michelle Popowitz. [2:50] What led Michelle to her work at UCLA? [8:30] How Michelle ended up working on Grand Challenges. [19:20] Why it’s important to know your audience and tailor your approach. [25:20] Helping the public understand the resources that universities offer. [28:50] How Michelle and her team have disseminated their approach to other universities. [31:00] From general incentives to specific goals. [38:00] Mark and Michelle talk about their professional goals for 2019. [42:15] How the Grand Challenge is like a startup. [44:15] Closing thoughts from Michelle. Connect with Michelle Popowitz Michelle’s LinkedIn profile UCLA Grand Challenges Resources & People Mentioned Report on University-Led Grand Challenges Indiana University Grand Challenges UT-Austin Grand Challenges University of Alabama at Birmingham Grand Challenges University of New Mexico Grand Challenges Abundance: The Future Is Better Than You Think Grand Challenges are Moonshot Goals Have you heard the term “Grand Challenges” before? Grand Challenges are also known as “moonshots” derived from President Kennedy’s moonshot goal to put a man on the moon and return him safely to earth. These ambitious goals have the potential to draw the public’s interest and fuel popular support for a positive societal change. Grand Challenges aren’t just for governments and universities; businesses are getting in on the positive publicity garnered by these ambitious goals. Recently, Mircosoft announced that they are investing $500 million to build affordable housing in the Seattle area. In her work at UCLA, Michelle Popowitz is engaged in two specific and ambitious Grand Challenges. These two Grand Challenges are the biggest, most collaborative, and potentially most transformative efforts UCLA has undertaken to date. The Sustainable LA Grand Challenge focuses on achieving sustainability in energy and water while enhancing ecosystem health in Los Angeles County by 2050. The Depression Grand Challenge is dedicated to understanding, preventing and treating the world’s greatest health problem. They plan to cut the burden of depression in half by 2050 and eliminate it by the end of the century. Seize opportunities and explore the possibilities Too often many professionals have this idea that opportunities will just fall in their lap. Has that been your experience? Did someone come along and roll out the red carpet for you or did you have to forge your own path? Nothing happens without a price, either you pay the price, or someone pays it for you. Don’t let this discourage you in your efforts; half the battle is knowing the rules to the game. How have you forged your own path in your career? Michelle Popowitz didn’t have any plans to start the Grand Challenges initiative at UCLA when she entered her role as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research. She went from putting out fires in her position as the Assistant Dean with the UCLA School of Dentistry to enjoying a significant amount of free time in the research office. Jumping into her role at the research department, Michelle set herself on a course she never would have imagined. Determined to make an impact and elicit positive change, Michelle started with small steps that eventually snowballed into founding the Grand Challenges at UCLA.
