More than 40% of the world's population lives in rural areas, and urban sprawl continues to spread out housing, employment areas and services. The major mobility issue for inhabitants is to have a choice of credible alternatives to private cars. So how can we move around differently in sparsely populated areas? Are there no alternatives to the use of cars in rural areas? In this new episode, we explore and break down the opportunities and challenges of mobility for all in sparsely populated areas with: • Alphonse Coulot , Chargé de mission Mobilités, La Fabrique de la Cité • Thomas Côte , CEO fondateur, wever • Gaël Queinnec , Directeur de la Prospective, MichelinHébergé par Ausha. The stakes are high for maritime transport. 90% of the goods we consume are, at one time or another, transported by ship. Maritime transport really is at the heart of our economy. The International Maritime Organisation is now calling on the sector to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 50% by 2050. So how exactly can we decarbonize maritime transport? Who among the shipowners and loaders is going to set the pace? A new Movin'On debate that brings together key industry players:

Here at Studio Funk we are super stoked to have the wonderful Andre Gibson on this months show. The multi talented musician, singer and songwriter of Universal Togetherness Band. As you can expect we have a lot to discuss including the history surrounding the band, how it got started, early memories and performing on the notorious TV show, The Chicago Party at the CopHerBox II (1982). We also talk about Andre's desire to continue to making music and his recent album ‘Movin On'. Plus the collaboration with The Numero Group to publish the unreleased material of Universal Togetherness Band many years later. It's a full packed show and if that wasn't enough we wrap up the episode with a Studio Funk Chicago Party featuring music by Jesus Wayne, Donnell Pitman, Universal Togetherness Band and many more!

Together with American Songwriter, we had the pleasure of interviewing John Driskell Hopkins over Zoom video! John Driskell Hopkins today announces new album Lonesome High and shares the single“Missing You All, All The Time.” The track is a reflective ballad that takes stock of Hopkins’years spent on the road as a member of the Zac Brown Band.Written with songwriter and good friend D. Vincent Williams ("I’m Movin‘ On" by Rascal Flatts, Ty Herndon’s "Hands of a Working Man") the track is honest and tender as it acknowledges the burden that the life of a professional musician can place on those close to them.Hopkins explains “ Over the years, the touring regimen has continued to improve professionally, but we find ourselves away from home more and more frequently. It is very common for all of us to miss our family, and this tune is all about that. It starts with a piano driven music box dancer feel in the beginning and progresses through a very harmony rich vocal stack throughout the choruses. This is the one that my girls sing to me the most.”It might be a mistake to conflate Hopkins’ pedigree as a founding member of the Zac Brown Band and Grammy-winning producer of their albums into expecting the Lonesome High album to be a country record. Even though it is a country record. But, it’s as much a country record as it is a folk album, or a southern rock album. Ultimately, Lonesome High is a collection of uniquely American music.Hopkins’ musical palette is, in some ways, a reaction to the shifting sands of the country charts. As compressed commercial pop production and elements of electronic music begin to stake a permanent claim amongst the records of some of the scenes most beloved names, Hopkins is drawn more than ever to the grit of acoustic recording and songs that draw from personal experience..Lonesome High is set for a January 2021 release. The collection presents an opportunity to hear Hopkins speak with his own voice about the subjects closest to his heart, delivered through the sounds of his southern home.We want to hear from you! Rob Duquette is a multi-instrumentalist singer songwriter and head of the eponymously named band Duquette. A long time sideman during the 1990s on drums, xylophone, guitar and vocals for Jonathan Edwards of the Lovin Spoonful’s touring band, and one half of the critically acclaimed jazz folk pop duo Cactus Highway during the 2000s, Rob discusses his songs “Movin On,” “See Me,” “You Be The Tree,” “Light House” and “Trying Hard.”
Movin On is what we all need to do, and quit looking in the rear view mirror. I discuss all things NFL & NCAA along with how fast the NBA season is approaching us, and how the Broncos & Ravens shared similar Covid testing results but one got a pass and one team did not!

Paul Gibbs talks with singer/songwriter Heather Thomas Van Deren in this episode. Heather has loved music since she was a little girl. She took her first piano lesson at 7 years of age, and would sing & play for anyone who would listen. From music recitals to talent contests, Heather loved, loved, loved all things music! Although she was saved in her teens, it wasn’t until she was a young mother that God began calling her to step forward and sing for Him. Heather was with the popular ladies’ trio “Hearts to Him” for 10 years, and with the group “Rejoice” for 8 years prior. She was also active in Prison & Jail Ministry for many years. Now having almost 10 years behind her as a soloist, Heather is pursuing her songwriting, singing & speaking talents in new & exciting ventures. Her first solo CD titled “My Heart Alone” was released in 2009. Her 2nd project titled “My Heart, His Love” released in 2014, followed by “Just in Time” (an all original project with several songs Heather has written – mostly Country Christian).Heather has appeared on several TV programs, & her music is aired on radio stations across the world. Her music covers a number of genres from Southern Gospel to Christian Country, & even a little contemporary & jazz here & there. She is the host of the video series, "What Love Means", a video series of "testimonies from people like you". Visit her YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/user/HeatherTVanDeren.Heather resides in Millsap, TX on a farm where she & her husband raise Angus show cattle. After several life-changing events, she has a new outlook on life. “God is my Shelter, my Peace. Like Gideon, I want to possess fearlessness and readiness. It’s the least I can do for my Lord.”Heather's latest album release is "Movin On", and this interview features several songs, including "I Can't Leave The Cross", from this new record.https://www.htvministries.comwww.NoteSpireMusic.comwww.NoteSpireRadio.com

In this week's episode, we're featuring a sensational Capitol compilation of all-truck driving country: "Put The Hammer Down!" (1976). Popularized by the booming baritones of singers like Dave Dudley and Del Reeves in the 60s, truck-driving country music hit a peak in the early-mid 70s in the USA, right around the time of a nationwide fuel shortage and significant spike in CB radio use. CB radio use amongst truckers, however, was oftentimes to get around speed traps and organise resistance against government regulation in capped speed limits and fuel price increases. The half-sung and half-spoken recitation style of truck-driving hitmakers Red Simpson and Red Sovine echoed the sound of a CB radio, and Merle Haggard and Dick Curless spoke to the trucker in plain, relatable lyrics often delivered with revved-up guitars and standout twang. Our feature album showcases those artists and more (most on the Capitol label itself, hence any glaring omissions) in ten songs that epitomise what the American trucker came to represent: a blue-collar hero who lived the American cultural ideals of autonomy, non-conformity and freedom but who had fierce pride in their country and the principles upon which she was founded. Highlights include Haggard's theme song to the TV show of the same name in "Movin' On", Dick Curless' twangy re-recording of "A Tombstone Every Mile", Red Sovine's tearjerker "Phantom 309" and Red Simpson's sense of zeitgeist in "I'm A Truck". A thoroughly enjoyable album.

This week we’re looking at season 1, episode 3, “Dead* in the Water.” As Sam and Dean are “Movin’ On” from Colorado, they pause the search for their dad to take a case at a lake in Wisconsin where people keep mysteriously drowning. Dean bonds with a fellow traumatized child of a dead parent named Lucas, who doesn’t talk and constantly draws pictures related to the case. Dean tries to hit on Lucas’s hot mother Andrea, played by BtVS alum Amy Acker, before she nearly becomes the killer’s latest victim. Learn what classic rock band Dean thinks “rules,” what the Best Song of the episode is, and how Plushies would Make Everything Better in this week’s show. “Dead in the Water” on Superwiki: http://www.supernaturalwiki.com/1.03_Dead_in_the_Water If you’re listening to this on Stitcher, Google Play, or iTunes, then welcome to the Plushienatural family! Washington, D.C.- native Mýa released her self-titled, double platinum, debut album, Mýa, in 1998. The album launched the then 18-year-old Mýa into the fabric of pop-culture. Mýafeatured the massively successful singles “It’s All About Me,” “Movin On” and “My First Night With You” “Ghetto Superstar” & “Take Me There.” In 2000, Mýa released her second double platinum album, Fear of Flying, featuring the hits “Case of the Ex”, “Free” and “Best of Me.” Grammy-nominated singer, actress, and model V. Bozeman disrupts conventions, burns expectations, and emanates extreme energy in its purest form. Take one glance at her, and you’ll see strikingly natural beauty augmented by runway-ready features and edgy modern style. Musically, she doesn’t flip the script so much as rewrite it altogether. After one listen, you’ll hear feral intensity, focused vision, and unnervingly dynamic talent that turned musical innovators like Kenneth “Babyface”Edmonds’, CeeLo Green, and Timbaland into fans, creative collaborators, and supporters. V. is best known for her recurring role on FOX’s Golden Globe nominated hit drama series “Empire,” where she had the distinction of opening the Empire series premiere (2014) with the heart-wrenching ballad “What Is Love”

SHOW # 218 In Layman Terms are Cole Layman, his sister Logan Layman and mom Sandy. We met them a few years back when Cole & Logan were in the Youth Showcase with their other project, The unXpected, at the International Blues Challenge. This year they adding mom on drums allowed them to compete in the IBC as a band this year. Now, the Full-Length Album, Get Tangled is ready for release and they are honoring us by allowing Music On The Couch to air it! The Delgado Brothers have been making music for about 30 years in the Los Angeles area. This past January, they came to Memphis representing the Ventura County Blues Society and walked away as winners in the Band Challenge. Guitarist Joey was also named Gibson Guitar Player for the Challenge. While we chat, we will listen to songs from their latest release, Learn To Fly. Billy Price has been entertaining fans with his distinctive vocals. He was vocalist on two albums with the great Roy Buchanan and has led his own band since 1990. Last year he released This Time It’s For Real with the late Otis Clay and the album is up for a BMA Nomination. Bob Margolin suggested I bring Billy on when he appeared back in February. I’ll get to learn much more about this wonderful artist while we listen to music from his album with Otis. Couch Kid New Music brings back Ilana Katz Katz, who we met last year through Anne Harris, who we met from her performing on Jeff Jensen’s album Morose Elephant. I think it is so cool that Couch Kids suggest other artists…it means so much to me. Ilana recently released her new album, Movin’ On, and we will speak with her about it and her time in Memphis during IBC week and what is on the horizon.

SHOW INFORMATION: www/TonyTrombo.com NEW!: Talking Zappa APP for Android! Click here: www.TalkingZappa.info . My special guest for this show is ESSRA MOHAWK! Her first record, The Boy With The Way, credited to Jamie Carter, was issued on Liberty Records in 1964. As Sandy Hurvitz, she was then discovered by Shadow Morton, who placed her songs with both the Shangri-Las ("I'll Never Learn") and the Vanilla Fudge ("The Spell That Comes After"). While living in New York City in 1967 she met Frank Zappa, who persuaded her to perform for a short time with The Mothers of Invention and then signed her to his production company Bizarre. Her first album Sandy's Album Is Here At Last was released on Verve/Bizarre in December 1968. 1969 she was signed by Reprise Records after executive Mo Ostin discovered her singing at a club in New York. The resulting album, Primordial Lovers, was later stated as being "one of the best 25 albums ever made" in Rolling Stone magazine. The album featured contributions from CSN&Y drummer Dallas Taylor and former Rhinoceros members Doug Hastings and Jerry Penrod. Her third, self-titled, album came out on Asylum Records in 1974. The next album, Essra, was released on yet another label, Private Stock, in 1976. During that period, she also worked as a session and background singer, for John Mellencamp, Carole King and later she performed with the Jerry Garcia Band, and recorded and arranged background vocals for Kool & the Gang. In 1982 after recording another album in L.A., she worked with McFadden and Whitehead in Philadelphia, penning "Not With Me" for their Capitol album, Movin' On. She released another solo album, E-Turn, before Cyndi Lauper had a big hit with her song "Change of Heart" in 1986.
This is the sixth Dreams of Consciousness Mixtape, focusing on the hardcore/punk scene in the Philippines. While we were working on the last podcast about the Filipino scene, my buddy Ian [from Brimstone in Fire and Demiurge Digital Studios] sent me a few songs from local hardcore bands. That episode was pretty packed and those songs didn't fit in with the rest of the (mostly death metal) line-up, so we discussed doing a separate show specifically about Pinoy hardcore. Once again, most of the heavy lifting for this episode was done by Ian. Not only did he get the songs, he also extracted the sound recording from our video chat. This episode wouldn't have come together without him. The Australian Summer is Here! Set starts in the Hippies 70's and ends in the 80's with Rick Astley.. You are forewarned! For Viv, the kids and myself to sing-a-long in the car during the Summer.. I hope they will like it! Simple, fun and happy set.. It's Disco, It's Eighties, It's Up and it's Summer. Granted it is a bit handbag but I fully assume it and since I am not over the crap I heard when I went out a month ago, it is my way to say that I do not hate commercial house (on the contrary!) but I really despise a professional not making the effort to find something original.. This being said there is a lot of talent in this playlist if you take a second and scan through.. Tocadisco, DJ Meme and Frankie Knuckles, Shane D (rare producer/remixer/dj talent from Durban South Africa) and Scott Diaz.. If you are ready to sing and dance.. try it! If you look for something progressive underground take cover this is NOT FOR YOU! As for the art... well I have used a few skimpy girls before to bopost up the ranking.. I thought I have have one for the girls ( and boys).. Playlist: 2012 Let the Sun Shine 2012 (Tocadisco Radio Edit). Milk & Sugar 2012 Make Me Feel (Mighty Real) (DJ Meme's Mix Of Epic Proportions). Frankie Knuckles pres. Director's Cut feat. B. Slade 2012 You Used To Hold Me feat. Xaviera Gold (Spiritchaser Vocal Mix). Ralphi Rosario 2012 Buena Vista Park_(Allan Zax Remix.) Alex Torn feat. Rachel Margaret 2012 Back Together (Director's Cut Classic Club Mix). Hardsoul feat. Ron Carroll 2012 Hallelujah Anyway (Director's Cut Signature Praise). Candi Staton 2012 I'm Movin' On (Director's Cut Club Mix). Ono 2012 Silence (Milo & Acheson Euphoric Club Mix). Shane D feat. Kerry Wood 2012 Rollin' (The Cheeky Edit) .Shane D and Adele 2012 No Matter (Scott Diaz Mix vs Original Mix ). Funkyloco 2012 Bel Amour (Classic Touch Mix). DJ Chus, & Patric La Funk 2012 Runnin' (The Cheeky Edit). Shane D & Doobie Brothers 2012 Never Gonna Give You Up (Shane D Remix).Shane D & Rick Astley Highlights: The kids have already their favourite.. Shane D's edit of Adele's "Rollin in The Deep", close second the Tocadisco take on the "Hair" old anthem " Let The Sunshine In".. I personally love Meme's disco take on "Make Me Feel", the sexiness of Shane D's beats on Silence and I could not pass on the Dobbie Borthers.. this is pure genius! The original is left untouched just udpated.. As for Rick Astley... let's see if you will not dance, sing aor whistle along. A bit of Jackin' house with Scoot Diaz "No Matter", if you do not know what Jackin' House is, do not worry.. up until a few months ago I did not know it existed nor would I have ever thought I would actually like it.. As for the Frankie Knuckles tracks (all the Director's Cut jams).. well.. it is Frankie and if you cannot hear the talent, the art, the silk, the perfection.. you should not be reading my blurb.. Frankie Knuckles... It's Aural cashmere... Yoko Ono's "Movin' On".. Tune really belonged to the Transitions trilogy but I could not fit it in the self-imposed 1h20min format, besides I think it is not out of place here. Next one should be Sexy Deep House but I may also do a ghost for a live set to be played on NYD therefore not sure which way it will go.. Enjoy Xtian

DEBORAH FLORES http://www.DeborahFloresMusic.com The debut CD for veteran songstress of the performing stage Deborah Flores, has arrived! With a seamless flow of sounds from soulful R&B and contemporary jazz to neo-soul this album has it all! Deborah’s seasoned voice belts out effortlessly in the R&B songs “Movin On” and “Sneakin Around”. “Sneakin Around”, an original composition, filled with a funk filled playful ibe, “Dream on Dreamer” and “Ain’t No Sunshine” (a Bill Withers classic) display the mellow silky flavor of smooth jazz with some unexpected yet warmly welcomed surprise turns along the way. Bassist, Marcus Miller takes it to another level in Deborah’s rendition of, “Do I Do” (By Stevie Wonder). There’s even a touch of some soft rock found in the Lenny Kravitz classic, “I Belong to You”. Adding a more mature vibe to the song list, Deborah sings in sultry elegance the jazz standard, “The Man I Love” featuring a stellar performance by Eric Marienthal on sax. Undoubtedly you will not be able to sit still during Deborah’s original song, “Move Your Body”, which evokes an urban funk sound that commands you to do just that! Producer, Jeff McCullough, owner of Tree Hill Media, applies his creative soulful talent to every song. With over 20 years in the business, Jeff’s expertise will keep you moving and grooving. Jeff’s musical arrangements take the songs by storm! Each melody, each composition, takes you on another musical journey making this CD an experience of pure joy! Deborah Flores, in her unique style and soulful vibe, provides something for everyone’s musical pallet. http://www.wearegreaterthani.com
I had a week off recently and whilst digging around for tunes online I rediscovered a chunk of early remixes by Terry Farley and Pete Heller of Junior Boys Own fame. In the early 90s I was a big fan of their work under the Fire Island and Roach Motel monicas. This session pulls together some of my favourite FI/RM looped bassline grooves and brass stabs. We open in 1992 with Sunsreem’s classic Perfect Motion, slide through dubs of Juliet Roberts and Monie Love (two records I foggily recall mixing back-to-back continuously one morning after Flesh at the Hacienda), In Your Bones reminds me of dancing downstairs at Paradise Factory with Selina, and as one of the finest house tunes ever produced, Movin’ On has to be one of my Desert Island Discs.Transatlantic was a tune Ted used to play at post-Strangeways chill outs, and we close with a blissful Balearic take on New Order’s Regret - not a great dance floor moment, but a regular on the car stereo driving to work in my Key103 days. All this seems pretty fitting as Junior Boys Own hosted their own event in London last night (according to the Guardian Guide, their first in 16 years) and much of the catalogue is now reissued through Defected, although I’ve tried to steer around some of those more obvious classics. Most of the tunes are from ’92 - ’95 so I’ll also upload this to the Classic Archive podcast. Apologies if you get duplicates. Our guest has been blessed with one of the most distinctive voices in the music industry. His stand-out lead-vocals for the rock group Ambrosia have left impressionable hits in our minds over the years such as, Biggest Part of Me, How Much I Feel, Holding on to Yesterday, and You’re The Only Woman. Over his hit-packed career, he has continued to write and produce for diverse artists such as Brian McKnight, Michael McDonald, Natalie Cole, Patti LaBelle, Brian Setzer, Andre Crouch, Take 6, Bruce Hornsby, Chick Corea, Trisha Yearwood, Linda Ronstadt and others. Recently, he released his long-awaited new solo album, The Secret of Movin On on Concord/Peak records, highlighting vocal collaborations with Journey frontman Steve Perry, Heart’s Nancy Wilson, the Eagle’s Timothy B. Schmidt, and Dewey Bunell of America. It’s a definite must get album. We’re glad to welcome David Pack, our first guest of the new year, to Inside MusiCast.
I predict that in the years to come, many of us will remember the first time we heard the beauty of Corey's voice. One of my greatest rewards occurs when listeners write to tell how thankful they are at the musical introductions! It will suffice to say this will be the beginning of a long lasting relationship. Our journey takes us to Amsterdam--Netherlands where Corey's debut album "Movin' On" has been released to rave reviews. A killer 16 track production, she has opened for the likes of John Legend, Adina Howard, and amazed crowds at the North Sea Jazz Festival. Isn't it about time you whet the appetite for deep soul with global reach and mass appeal? Reach out , feel the vibe, and get to know one of my dear friends whose career is poised to take flight.
