Alex Wirth, Co-Founder and CEO of Quorum joins this episode of AI, Government, and the Future by Alan Pentz to discuss the impact of AI on public policy advocacy. They explore how Quorum uses AI to track and analyze political and regulatory processes, and the potential for AI to automate tasks and enhance decision-making. They also address concerns about the overwhelming volume of messages received by government officials and the responsible use of AI. Alex also delves into the challenges and opportunities presented by AI in business models and government processes.
What if accountability isn't a weapon? Empowering leaders, like Kerry Siggins, have embraced accountability so highly that they wish for that kind of freedom and ownership for everyone around them. Most trainings on accountability say to “Hold employees accountable.” What if, instead, we invited employees into accountability. It's an invitation into empowerment. Accountability is a topic we discuss a lot, especially when it comes to change and transformation. Nothing changes unless individuals decide to change first. Organizations don't change; people do. Not only does Kerry share her story of transforming her company three times, she transformed her own life from addiction into recovery because of accountability! About Kerry Siggins: Kerry Siggins is the CEO of StoneAge, a fast-growing, employee-owned manufacturing and technology company based in Colorado. In 2023, Kerry was named EY Entrepreneur Of The Year and Colorado's CEO of the Year. During her 17-year and counting tenure, Kerry has led StoneAge through three major transitions while continuously building a dynamic culture where employees think and act like owners. To that effect, StoneAge is recognized as a top company to work for by Outside Magazine and Inc. Magazine. She is a dynamic, sought after speaker who presents worldwide at corporations, universities, and conferences. Kerry hosts Reflect Forward, a popular leadership podcast and is an author, blogger, and contributor to Forbes, Entrepreneur, Authority Magazine, and BIC Magazine. In this episode Melanie Boylan chats with Dr Andrew Woods, Founder and CEO of Catagen. They chat about his passion of decarbonisation. His team has found several successful ways to manipulate various methods of technology to reduce carbon. Listen in for his innovative approach. Point of note, Andrew Woods has recently been selected as one of 24 finalists for this year's EY Entrepreneur Of The Year awards. Andrew founded CATAGEN in 2010, successfully spinning it out of Queen's University Belfast with Professor Roy Douglas CTO. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD in Automotive Catalysis. Andrew has built an award winning team whose purpose is to clean and decarbonise the air. From initially providing world-class emissions testing to the automotive sector, the company is now developing advanced testing for heavy duty diesel and industrial catalysts. This expertise in emissions data and simulation, the development of energy efficient chemical reactor technologies, IP and knowledge has given CATAGEN a vantage point for new net zero technologies. This has led to the development of ClimaHtech – an acceleration system towards decarbonisation using advanced climate technologies. In 2022, CATAGEN successfully received five funding awards from the UK's Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to develop new technologies in renewable hydrogen production (not electrolysis), e-fuels, carbon capture and compression technologies. www.catagen.com/climahtech
The is the 5th episode with Aine Kilkenny from Riley. This podcast brings you insightful conversation between Aidan Donnelly and entrepreneurs and business owners/management with their own unique story to tell. If you like what you hear, please like, share and subscribe. I often tell people that the share tips they get in a bar late in the evening tend never to be the best investment ideas. So, whether starting a business from an idea created over a few drinks falls into this category as well, my guest Aine Kilkenny will probably tell me. Because while the world was still in the grips of COVID, along with friends Fiona Parfrey, Lauren Duggan, Áine put a girls' wine night idea into action and now have a business that has seen them all quit their day jobs, move home to Ireland, and be nominated for an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year award all in two years. Riley is a company that aims to make superior, eco-friendly period and feminine care products more convenient and accessible to everybody, using a novel subscription-based model. Their products contain no bleach, no pesticides, no toxins, no harmful chemicals and the company has sustainability as one of their core values, with a plan to end the use of plastics in period care products. The company is also proud to be part of the fight against period poverty on the ground in Ireland but also further a field in Kenya.

High performance teams don't just happen by chance. They are artfully built with an impenetrable culture at its heart. The people who join are in alignment with the values and purpose of the organization. The result is unrivaled performance above and beyond your expectations. Our guest today: Greg Besner, Founder and Vice Chairman of CultureIQ A global company that helps organizations create high-performance cultures. He and his firm have assisted more than one thousand organizations and millions of employees strengthen their company culture. Greg was an early investor in Zappos which inspired his commitment to organizational culture. In 2018, he was ranked in USA Today as the 8th best CEO in the United States among a pool of 50,000 companies. He was also named the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year®. Today we discuss: Why, if you are serious about your business, you need to prioritize your company values as the heart of your hiring decisions How to deploy a process to enable your company to hire people who continually raise the bar for performance I find that often the phrase “not a good cultural fit” is an easy cop out line for a company to pass on people. When asked “HOW” the conversation quickly disintegrates. How can someone not really make that conclusion when they lack clarity on what their culture/purpose is? Challenge today? Recruiting for purpose/ culture alignment Zoom interview Body language/ energy Human interaction Interact in the environment around them Fumbling with this new interview process Onboarding Energy of the office not really happening Interpersonal mingling Because the human interaction is missing Elevates chance of bias People are uncomfortable in a video interview setting Why is this important to the company? Culture alignment Diversity of experience, perspective Recruiting process is opposite of what it is today Expensive to recruit & train Turnover is expensive Employees who are not aligned with the purpose are expensive Rick’s Nuggets Bias is a two way street How do we build into your company? First interaction is a 2 sided conversation- human interaction Experience of working in the organization Company go first Let the person give their elevator pitch What would allow them to be successful at the company Having a framework Notes should be taken, structured, & details on their values Mutual agreement on moving forward Letting the person know the next steps Transparency Closure Interviews Teammate or HR first Try not to replicate the interview! Multi-step process Split up to cover different roles values from skills No need to cover the same questions hire bar raisers Rick’s Nuggets First interaction: Discovery call Understand Pain, Desire, Impact Listen to understand first Buy in through connecting the dots Presenting back what fits, & what does not Key Takeaways: Bar Raisers- Structured Interview Process Transparency in Hiring Process Links Email: greg@cultureiq.com LinkedIn:https://www.linkedin.com/in/gregbesner/ Websites: http://theculturequotient.com/ http://cultureiq.com/ http://getsunflow.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CultureIQ/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/cultureiq YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSECYe1wg_KxMi_yNi7KQbA?view_as=subscriber Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/cultureiq/ This show is proudly sponsored by Criteria Crop: https://www.criteriacorp.com/

Buymie has announced the launch of a major new partnership with Dunnes Stores. Buymie, Ireland’s leading same-day grocery delivery platform, and Dunnes Stores will launch a personal grocery shopping service to over 680,000 households in both Dublin and Cork. The service, available from today in 24 Dunnes Stores across Dublin and Cork, will allow Dunnes Stores customers to select groceries and book a same-day delivery slot. The Buymie app calculates the available customer delivery slots as soon as the customer gets to the checkout. Slots are available on the same day, and often in as little as 1-hour. Customers can also choose their preferred delivery slot for up to 7 days in advance. The partnership gives Dunnes Stores customers access to their own personal shopper. Buymie shoppers will by default call the customer from the store and let them know if items are out of stock, and offer alternatives. Even if a customer can’t find something they’re looking for on the app, they can add a special request at checkout for their shopper, who will look for and add the items where possible. Devan Hughes, CEO and co-founder of Buymie commented: “I am thrilled to be announcing this partnership with Dunnes Stores and to be bringing such an iconic Irish brand online in grocery for the first time. In fact, back in 1976 at the age of 16, my father James Hughes, got his very first job working for Ben Dunne Snr in North Earl Street. So for me, this is an exciting extension of that family history.” “Dunnes Stores is a tremendous innovator in Irish retail and we are delighted to be working with them to bring same-day delivery to their customers across Dublin & Cork”, Hughes added. Earlier this year, Buymie announced the creation of 200 additional personal shopping roles for Ireland in response to demand for same-day grocery delivery. The partnership brings immediate scale to the Dunnes Stores online offering with the service now available, from today to over 592,000 households in Dublin and large commuter towns such as Maynooth and Howth. The service is also available to over 88,000 households in Cork city. To access the service, users can download the Buymie app from the Apple iOS app store, or from the Google Play store onto a mobile device. Once registered, customers can select to shop for groceries within the Dunnes online grocery store. Buymie customers have no limitation on basket size and access to the very best of Dunnes Stores product range. A personal shopper is then appointed, allowing for seamless communication during the shopping process, and ensuring the best substitutions and highest quality fresh produce are selected. Co-Founder and CEO, Devan Hughes, is a finalist of the 2020 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year, nominated in the Emerging Category of the awards. The results will be announced in November 2020. Buymie, Ireland’s leading same-day grocery delivery provider, has teamed up with Lidl Ireland to offer home grocery deliveries and full personal shopping services to over 86,000 Cork households. Earlier this year, Buymie announced the creation of 200 additional personal shopping roles for Ireland in response to demand for same-day grocery delivery. 50 of these jobs have been earmarked for Cork. Those interested in Buymie personal shopper roles can apply here, Devan Hughes, CEO and co-founder of Buymie: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be announcing our official launch into Cork with our retail partner Lidl Ireland. This expansion will mean Buymie is available to around 2 million people across 750,000 households in Ireland and the UK. 2020/21 will see rapid expansion the same-day-delivery channel as consumers confront a new reality for the foreseeable future.” Conor Nagle, Regional Director for Lidl in Munster, added: “Over the past few months, our teams across the country have kept the shelves filled and served millions of customers every week. Given that not everyone is in a position to visit their local Lidl at present we are delighted to extend the Buymie service to 6 stores in Cork city, ensuring thousands of shoppers have access to the incredible value that Lidl offers in a more accessible way. Cork is a very important market for Lidl and we continue to invest heavily in the county with a new store being built in Kanturk and an application lodged for Blarney in recent weeks.” The service will go live citywide, Friday, 28th August, and will be available through six participating Lidl Stores: Lidl Ballincollig Lidl Wilton Lidl Togher Lidl Churchfield Lidl Ballyvolane Lidl Glanmire Buymie’s same-day grocery delivery is currently available to all households in Dublin and large commuter towns such as Greystones, Maynooth and Howth. The service has seen huge success over the past 18 months as it brings an entirely new approach to online grocery shopping and delivery for consumers. In May, Buymie partnered with UK’s Co-op and launched the same-day delivery service to over 200,000 households across Bristol and its surrounding suburban area. Buymie has grown by 325% in the first six months of 2020 versus the same period in 2019. In June, Buymie closed a Series A funding round of €5.8 million in new investments into its business, to take its total capital raised in 2020 to over €8 million and €10.5 million to date. Global Product Management Talk is pleased to bring you the next episode of... The Everyday Innovator with host Chad McAllister, PhD. The podcast is all about helping people involved in innovation and managing products become more successful, grow their careers, and STANDOUT from their peers. About the Episode: What products do you use that you love? Think of a product that you are glad to tell other people about. You share how it helps you solve a problem or get a task down. Or, maybe how the product makes you feel. It might be your phone, a perfectly balanced and beautifully designed pen, a pocket knife that makes you feel just a little more self-reliant, or, in my case, the Paragon induction cooktop that allows me to make perfect omelets my wife and kids rave about. Great products are ones that we love. They create emotions in us that go beyond satisfaction, extending to true delight. Creating products that customers love is what product management is about, and also just happens to be the central theme for all of you who are Everyday Innovators. It is why this podcast exists and is the focus of this episode. I explore the topic with Todd Olson, co-founder of Pendo, a capability for creating product experiences customers can’t live without. Before starting Pendo, Todd was VP Products at Rally Software and has been a co-founder for two other companies. He was also recently announced as an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year finalist. Todd knows a lot about developing software, founding and building companies, and creating products customers love.

Hannah driver bolagen Perfect Day och Daisy Grace.

The buzz: “I want to be around people that dream…and do things” (Amy Poehler). Forty-six percent of US privately held firms are at least half owned by women and represent ~16 million jobs.
