But with this widespread use comes a hidden problem. When words like “narcissist,” “gaslighting,” or “toxic” are misused or weaponized in our relationships, they not only muddy honest communication—they erode trust, block growth, and can even do real damage to our connections with others. In this episode, listeners are invited to take a nuanced look at how “therapy speak” has crept into our relationship vocabulary and why this isn't always a good thing. Donald Trump empieza a hartarse de Vladimir Putin. Este lunes amenazó con imponer fuertes aranceles a Rusia si no se alcanza un armisticio en Ucrania en 50 días. Junto a eso anunció también un acuerdo con la OTAN para enviar armas a Ucrania, lo que supone un cambio importante en la política estadounidense, ya que, a diferencia del Gobierno Biden, que transfería el armamento a fondo perdido, Trump propone que los países de la OTAN paguen por él. El secretario de Comercio, Howard Lutnick, indicó que los aranceles podrían extenderse a todos los países que comercian con Rusia, como China e India. No está claro, eso sí, que Trump vaya a cumplir esta amenaza. En el pasado ya la hizo y no sucedió nada después. El giro en la política ucraniana se escenificó en el despacho oval de la Casa Blanca durante una una reunión con Mark Rutte, secretario general de la OTAN. Trump se mostró partidario de enviar armas a Ucrania por valor de unos 10.000 millones de dólares, armas tales como misiles y sistemas antiaéreos Patriot. Rutte fue más concreto. Dijo que países como Alemania, Finlandia, Dinamarca, Suecia, Noruega y los Países Bajos transferirían sus sistemas Patriot a Ucrania y luego Estados Unidos reabastecería sus arsenales. Esto permite a Trump presentar el acuerdo como un gran negocio para EEUU, ya que los aliados europeos pagarán las armas que compren, pero a Ucrania se las donarán. La entrega de los Patriot es urgente para detener los ataques rusos de los últimos meses, pero la producción de estos sistemas es lenta y costosa, lo que restringe mucho la rapidez de reabastecimiento. Ucrania tendrá que seguir valiéndose de tácticas ofensivas como la "Operación Telaraña", que les ha permitido destruir bombarderos y atacar bases aéreas e instalaciones militares. El plazo de 50 días podría ser demasiado largo dado el ritmo de los ataques rusos. It has been a while since we read a Neville lecture. I really enjoyed this one so I thought I would share it with you. 10/4/1968Tonight's title is “Power and Wisdom.” I speak not of the power of Caesar but of the power of God. The power of God in scripture is personified as Christ. In the first letter of Paul to the Corinthians he defines Christ as “the power of God and the wisdom of God” (1:24). All the power known on earth, and as man develops more and more of it—now we have nuclear power—it is as nothing compared to the power of the new age…Christ being the representative of the new age. So you can't compare the powers. This would be like kindergarten…even our nuclear age

En los últimos días se han producido una serie de disturbios en Torre-Pacheco, un municipio murciano de unos 38.000 habitantes de los que aproximadamente un tercio son inmigrantes, gran parte de ellos de origen magrebí. No es algo casual. La localidad, situada entre Cartagena y Murcia, a corta distancia del mar Menor, depende económicamente de la agricultura intensiva, un sector copado por la mano de obra inmigrante desde hace décadas. El desencadenante se produjo el pasado miércoles, cuando Domingo, un jubilado del pueblo, fue agredido durante su paseo matinal por tres jóvenes marroquíes. No hubo robo; parecía una paliza para grabarla y compartirla después. La Guardia Civil, tras analizar cámaras de vigilancia y recabar testimonios, detuvo a dos sospechosos magrebíes y busca al tercero. La delegación del Gobierno lo calificó como delito común, no de odio, insistiendo en que es la Justicia debe actuar. Pero la desinformación en redes sociales agravó la situación. Se viralizaron vídeos y noticias falsas, incluso se llegó a difundir un falso comunicado del ayuntamiento de Torre-Pacheco en el que se culpaba a los extranjeros de la agresión. El ayuntamiento por boca de su alcalde ha pedido calma y que se detenga a los responsables. El viernes convocó una concentración pacífica en la plaza principal del pueblo. Los concentrados demandaron más seguridad y mayor presencia de la Guardia Civil en el municipio. Esa misma noche se produjeron disturbios protagonizados por un centenar de personas, muchas de ellas venidas de fuera, que acudieron al barrio de San Antonio, donde vive buena parte de la comunidad marroquí. La policía, superada, pidió refuerzos. Afortunadamente solo hubo dos heridos leves. La tensión escaló el sábado. VOX organizó un mitin con su líder regional, José Ángel Antelo, en el que se vinculó la inseguridad a la inmigración ilegal. Asistieron unas 300 personas y se exigió la deportación de todos los inmigrantes ilegales. En las redes sociales, entretanto, grupos de activistas de derecha identitaria hablaban de ir a por los “moros". La comunidad magrebí se puso en alerta. Por la noche hubo disturbios con barricadas y enfrentamientos directos entre unos y otros. La noche se saldó con cinco heridos leves y un detenido. El domingo volvió a repetirse la misma historia, pero esta vez con más policía desplegada y controles de acceso al casco urbano. Los incidentes fueron menores. Se produjeron algunas agresiones aisladas y cinco detenciones más. El lunes las aguas parecían haber vuelto a su cauce, pero antes de darlo por terminado habría que despolitizar este asunto. Los disturbios de Torre-Pacheco son un síntoma de un problema mucho mayor que se reproduce en otras partes de España. Buena parte de la población asocia inmigración con delincuencia y no ve mal que se deporte a quienes se encuentren en situación irregular o hayan cometido un delito. Pero el Gobierno mira para otro lado e insiste en utilizar esto con fines políticos para polarizar aún más a la sociedad. El hecho es que la inmigración ilegal dificulta la integración y provoca la aparición de guetos. Este problema ya se ha manifestado en varios países de Europa y el resultado ha sido un crecimiento notable de los partidos identitarios. En un país tan envejecido como España la inmigración es necesaria para que siga funcionando la economía, pero debe ser legal y quienes inmigren han de respetar las leyes. La cuestión, por lo tanto, no es si inmigración si o inmigración no, sino que, en tanto que necesitamos inmigrantes jóvenes, hace falta replantearse la política migratoria. Esto el Gobierno no parece por la labor de abordarlo ya que saca mucha mayor tajada política a este tipo de incidentes. Police Death By Their Own Hand: A Father's Story and Crusade. The tragedy of losing a child is one no parent should ever endure. But for Brian Sizemore, that pain is now a daily reality, and a lifelong mission. His son, Lucas Henry Sizemore, was just 24 years old when he died by suicide. A newly sworn Atlanta City Police Officer, Lucas had recently graduated from the police academy and was serving proudly in Zone 4 Evening Watch. His passing sent shockwaves through the department, his community, and especially his grieving family. Cristina Fernández de Kirchner y Alberto Fernández han marcado la política de Argentina desde hace muchos años. Cristina, viuda de Néstor Kirchner, fue presidenta entre 2007 y 2015, un período caracterizado por una economía inestable, acusaciones de corrupción y críticas por autoritarismo. Tras la muerte de Néstor en 2010, Cristina continuó liderando el movimiento. Alberto Fernández, jefe de Gabinete de Néstor y Cristina hasta 2008, regresó en 2019 como presidente, pero con Cristina como vicepresidenta, tras la crisis económica del último año de Mauricio Macri. Pero su gestión no logró revertir la crisis, de hecho la empeoró. Como consecuencia Javier Milei ganó las elecciones en 2023 con una amplia ventaja sobre el candidato peronista Sergio Massa. Ambos abandonaron la Casa Rosada hace año y medio, pero siguen de actualidad debido a los numerosos procesos judiciales abiertos en su contra. Cristina, de 72 años, cumple prisión domiciliaria tras ser condenada en 2022 a seis años de cárcel e inhabilitación perpetua por corrupción en el caso Vialidad. Tiene además otras causas pendientes como el caso Cuadernos de las Coimas, el caso Hotesur-Los Sauces y el caso Memorándum con Irán. Estas acusaciones, avaladas por pruebas como testimonios y transferencias bancarias, han generado indignación entre muchos argentinos mientras otros acusan a la Justicia de ser parcial y practicar “lawfare” selectivo. Alberto Fernández, por su parte, tiene también por delante un calvario judicial. Se le investiga por por administración fraudulenta relacionada con contratos de seguros del Estado y una denuncia de violencia doméstica por parte de su exesposa, Fabiola Yáñez, que el año pasado presentó pruebas concluyentes de agresiones físicas, amenazas y coacciones. Este caso, respaldado por chats y fotografías, ha generado una gran polémica. Ha dividido también al movimiento feminista y la imagen pública del que fue presidente durante cuatro años está devastada. En respuesta a estos procesos el kirchnerismo ha popularizado el concepto de “lawfare”. Aseguran que la derecha utiliza a la Justicia para perseguirles. Este discurso, importado de casos como los de Lula da Silva en Brasil o Rafael Correa en Ecuador, es central en el relato que Cristina y Alberto han conseguido implantar entre sus seguidores. Aseguran ser víctimas de un sistema judicial manipulado por opositores como Macri y medios como Clarín. Las encuestas muestran una sociedad dividida: la mitad cree en la existencia del “lawfare”, la otra mitad lo considera una excusa para evadir responsabilidades. El contexto histórico refuerza esta percepción. Desde la recuperación de la democracia en 1983, Argentina ha enfrentado escándalos de corrupción en todos sus Gobiernos, pero el período kirchnerista destaca por su duración y la magnitud de las acusaciones, alimentadas por el auge económico de la primera década del siglo, que facilitó tramas corruptas con empresarios cercanos al poder. Las condenas y procesos en curso han debilitado al peronismo. La inhabilitación de Cristina para las elecciones de 2025 y el desprestigio de Alberto han fortalecido a nuevas figuras como Máximo Kirchner. Entretanto el movimiento trata de reinventarse. Los casos judiciales, que podrían extenderse hasta 2030, mantienen a ambos en el centro del debate, aunque su futuro político ya es inexistente, el personal depende de los recursos que presenten y de que la edad les impida cumplir su pena en una penitenciaría.
