I have a special in-house interview today with 2 men currently on a mission across Canada sharing the truth about a story of a family and their plight to help those suffering with mental illness and about the nightmare this family had to endure for years.Todd Michael Harris and David Stephan are on tour promoting the film 'Epiphany' and David's harrowing journey. The interview delves deeply into David's family's struggles with mental health, their pioneering work in nutritional supplements, and an intense legal battle with the Canadian health system. They discuss the transformative power of their line supplements, aptly named True Hope, the dynamics behind David's wrongful conviction, the death of his son Ezekiel, and how media and health authorities continue to misrepresent their story despite clear proof otherwise. This is a story of resilience and highlights the corruption among organizations we look to for justice, truth and support. Instead of finding any of these things, the Stephans were met with corruption at every step that started over 20 years ago. Please go to Matadorfilms.ca to see if this film and discussion is coming to your city in the next few weeks. This is a story that needs to be told, heard and shared.01:00 Introducing Today's Special Guests: Todd Michael Harris and David Stephan01:29 The Tragic Story of David Stephan's Family03:48 Todd's Journey in Filmmaking06:03 David's Family History and Struggles with Mental Health15:13 The Birth of True Hope and Nutritional Discoveries28:56 The Impact of Health Canada and Legal Battles34:13 The Fight for Truth and Justice37:51 The Power of Justice and Identity38:26 Reaching Beyond the Choir38:41 Challenges in Spreading the Truth39:01 Audience Reactions and Support41:25 The Birth of True Hope Empire Plus43:23 Health Canada's Contradictions44:13 Justice and Truth: An Interdependent Relationship45:22 Media's Role in Shaping Public Perception47:40 Medical Misadventures and Systemic Issues49:47 The Fight for Natural Health Products50:56 Legal Battles and Personal Struggles52:25 The Aftermath and Seeking Justice56:05 Systemic Corruption and Cover-Ups01:04:44 Exposing the Truth and Seeking Accountability01:07:25 Personal Connections and Accountability01:07:55 The Illusion of Trust in Systems01:08:48 Facing Challenges and Integrity01:09:25 The Plea Bargain Dilemma01:11:40 Tour Goals and Media Coverage01:17:43 Nutritional Products and Their Benefits01:25:05 Protocols and Health Canada Restrictions01:30:33 Final Thoughts and Call to ActionPlease share this interview, the world needs to know the truth about the nightmare this family has experienced at the hands of authorities that people wrongfully trust. If you enjoyed this episode, please share and consider going to www.sovereigncollective.org/shop to check out my offerings and get a deal while supporting the podcast. In this episode, the ladies dive into Confessions of a Video Vixen and Vindicated by Karrine Steffans, exploring the highs, lows, and lessons (or lack thereof) from her journey. They examine her troubled childhood, her rise to fame in the hip-hop industry, and the factors that led to her infamous reputation as “Superhead.” While Confessions exposed the toxic power dynamics of the industry, Vindicated raises a bigger question for our hosts—has Steffans truly grown, or is she still caught in the same cycles? Our hosts analyze her past and present relationships, including her recent entanglement with celebrity chef Kwame Onwuachi and ask: Is she the empowered feminist she claims to be, or is she still repeating the same toxic cycles? Tune in for a no-holds-barred discussion on fame, agency, and what it really means to break free from the past. Cheers!
With all the changes going on in the real estate industry, how can you embrace them and become an effective leader? In this episode, I chat with three leading ladies, Jaynie Atanasoff, Jan Hayse, and Katie Stephans, as they share their stories and how they are embracing these changes. Grab your cafecito and join us to get a fresh perspective on what it means to lead at the highest level. Meet The Leaders Jaynie Atanasoff, Vice President, Shared Success Center, HomeServices of America, jaynieatanasoff@homeservices.com Jan Hayse, President, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Beach Properties of Florida, jan@bpfla.com Katie Stephans, Vice President, Enterprise Applications, HomeServices of America, KatieStephans@homeservices.com Becoming Real Estate Leaders Katie joined the real estate world during one of the worst years, which was in 2008. But thanks to her technology background, she was able to bring fresh ideas into the industry to help businesses grow during that time. Jaynie comes from an HR background, which helped her transition into the real estate industry effectively with a customer service mindset. Also, realizing how important feedback is during change helped her excel in her transition into her new role. Jan joined the real estate industry in 2011 after leaving the banking industry and wanting a professional career that would work around her kids' schedule at that time. Always up for a challenge and networking with others, she was able to get outside her comfort zone to become a real estate agent. Embracing Adversity Jaynie shares her experience of when her mother developed dementia and how it helped her embrace a new perspective of change. Things happened unexpectedly, and there's nothing you can do about it besides adapting and keeping going. Reflecting on this experience allowed her to learn how to handle tough situations professionally and get through them. Katie shares another personal experience of her struggles with infertility. You expect it would be easy to enter motherhood, but for her, it was a ten-year struggle. This showed her you always have to put one foot forward and never give up, no matter how challenging the situation is. Embracing AI technology has not always been easy for Jan, and it was even harder having to help train her team. However, by surrounding herself with other leaders, she was able to embrace the change and help her team out. Creating Space for Life One of the hardest challenges every woman faces, no matter what industry they're in, is balancing work and personal life, especially when working from home. If you're a Type A person, like Katie, she shares how important it is to have boundaries when it comes to spending time with family and friends. Jan shares why a morning routine can help create that “me time” that every woman needs before starting her day. It helps put you in the right mindset to tackle the work tasks at hand. Jaynie likes to be mindful of what is going on at the moment. Also, when work is done, she completely turns the computer off to enjoy fun activities like golf, being with friends, and bowling. Favorite Quotes and Book Recommendations Jan: Favorite Podcast is Feel Better Live More hosted by Dr. Rangan Chatterjee. Her favorite books are Outwitting the Devil and The Wealth Blueprint by Napoleon Hill. Favorite quote “Wherever you go, there you are.” Janie: Favorite audiobooks are Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins and The Women by Kristin Hannah. Her favorite quote is “She believed she could, so she did.” Katie: Favorite quote “just progress over perfection.” She shares how by showing up means you're moving forward toward your goals no matter what is going on in your life. When you help another woman rise, we all shine. And that's how we make an impact. So, let's build each other up and shine brighter than the sun. «Ausgeglaubt» at it's best, könnte man sagen… Alles bleibt in ihm geborgen.

This is Love Hurts. JD Stephans is a comedian and voice actor living in California. In 2017, JD lost her dad and it had an immense effect on her life. Happy Reefing!

In today's episode of Women Who Lead, Teresa assembles women who've thrived in tech and STEM positions. Despite women accounting for just 28% of positions, these distinguished women discuss their experiences in real estate tech, overcoming obstacles in a male-dominated field, and their professional expertise in their fields. Meet the Techies: Patty Smejkal, Vice President & Chief Technology Officer, HomeServices of America Katie Stephans, Technology Director, HomeServices of America Maggi Wiegert, Regional Marketing & IT Director, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Ambassador Real Estate & HomeServices of Nebraska How did they get started in real estate? Patty - Unplanned. At the time worked at Wells Fargo supporting their mortgage side, and once she left there was an opportunity at HomeServices, which she took. She learned the entire real estate industry and has been there for the last fifteen years. Katie - Unplanned. She was working in development when she met a guy whose wife was a top sales rep for a mortgage company. She got a referral to the company and started as a trainer. But she found a passion for the real estate process and enjoys continuing to learn. Maggi - Her mom was a real estate agent, she started there in college at HomeServices of Nebraska, and started as a help desk person who was the go-between explaining how to use technical applications. What are some things we need to do to be wary of scams online? Maggi - If you have to ask the question “Is this legit?” it probably isn't. Katie - Understand what you're doing and what you're putting out there about yourself, your life, and your finances. Find ways to protect yourself online. Patty - Make an effort to keep work and personal stuff separate. Keep your personal stuff out of a work email. Email platforms offer two-factor authentication that drastically reduces someone's capability to steal your information. Pivoting: Patty - She went to college and got a degree in sports medicine, worked in the field for a few years, and women in that field were not accepted. She left the job she had and went to a temp agency, and they were the ones who sent her to Wells Fargo in IT. Katie - One of her biggest risks was coming to HomeServices. She had worked at her prior team for over a decade and she ended up turning down the job she spent ten years working towards. It was one of the best decisions she ever made. She branched out, grew, and learned more about real estate and technology than she ever could've imagined. Maggi - She had been at CBS Home for a long time, and the pivot from a few hundred to over a thousand people to see the merge come to fruition was a risk. Familiarize yourself with new sales, new managers, new everything. It was worth the initial risk. Salesforce was big on mentorship, and Teresa wants to mentor more women. Were you ever mentored/what do you believe in mentorship? Patty - Back when she started in IT, she had the opportunity to be mentored by some senior IT women, which were few and far between. She loves that (pre-covid) Microsoft had a program that offered all these different experiences to expose high school women to the tech world and the fields. It was cool to see these women, answer their questions, and explain what they would've done differently. They'd ask for advice, and Patty would always say “don't be afraid to fail.” Fail stands for “First Attempt In Learning” and she continues to do that today. Katie - Mentoringship doesn't have to be a big, program-driven event. As leaders, it's being generous with your time and your experience with the people around you. Katie's had amazing opportunities to learn more from the people around her, even if they're in an informal setting, as long as she's open to those opportunities. Programs or thought processes in pursuing tech jobs: Patty - It's not a formal program, but because it has exploded, it was areas that have become completely specialized. There are multiple specialties people might not realize, so try out the different areas and see which specializations interest and inspire you. Don't lose sight of the personal relationships and communication skills you have. Katie - It's not just about the STEM skills, because those can be taught. Mastering communication and your ability to work with others will be incredibly impactful to your success. Maggi - When she hires, she looks at customer service skills before IT experience. Bosses and hiring managers look for people who can communicate with others. What would you recommend? Maggi - Cybersecurity, it's a growing space that is necessary for almost any business. Katie - Data science is a big thing, especially with the growth of AI. Everything we do is online, which is communication and user experience - those “soft-skill” tech roles are a great opportunity for a lot of people. Overcoming Biases: Maggi - She started right out of college and looked young. So now that she's hiring people, they're often shocked that she's their boss. Nothing major. There have always been women in leadership roles and IT that she's kinda seen and felt influenced by. Katie - When she started everyone called her kiddo. Coming from a male-dominated field, you have to find different ways to deal with people. That might mean adjusting her communication or style depending on who she was talking to. Know your stuff and be confident, because you're going to have to prove yourself to them. Patty - That situation happened, especially in sports medicine. As a student trainer, she worked and there were not a lot of women standing on the sidelines of sports events. But push through, know your stuff, and be confident to earn their respect. Erin and Brennan are told that the journey through the Green Wood is fair sailing so long as they follow the path, but find that thanks to bad exposition, cringe romance, and overused tropes, they are not in the Green Wood, but IN MIRKWOOD AND THE PATH WAS LOST LONG AGO!!!! The Company of the Siblings trudges through the Desolation of Smaug with more than a few things to quarrel about. We discuss the use of Go Pro footage in fantasy film, the need for original strong female characters, and Smaug is a dangerous magpie! All the Stephans descend on Lake Town with Stephen Fry taking the reins as Master of Esgaroth, and Stephan Colbert finally living the dream, even if it is in Lake Town. Ultimately we ask the real questions like: has Peter Jackson been eating the same carrot for 100 years, and when Galadriel mental phones you, is there a ringtone? Either way, Luke Evans is a hunk. Done.
From her early days at ABC Sport, to Oxygen Media, then Cablevision and the MSG Networks and finally as the first President of the PAC 12 Network, which she built from scratch, Lydia Murphy-Stephans has had a stellar career spanning 30+ years of increasingly responsible executive Leadership posts. For most of us that would be plenty…….but not for Lydia. 3 years ago she launched her own company, Sports Bubble an Internet-based company that owns and manages the WatchSports app…..a fascinatingly simple way to connect and watch sports regardless of platform, device, channel or Streaming Service. A total Game Changer. Listen Up!

For the unofficial launch of season 2 of Food Is Culture | A Podcast we go deep not just on food history, but all history. Today's episode is a biggie, a large entrée of knowledge. Served with some laughs on the side. Charmaine Stephans is an Aesthetician, professional dancer, extremely knowledgable about her Caribbean roots and always learning more. She has been plant based for about a year and we talk about the dishes she misses the most from her childhood.Born in the heart of Toronto, raised by parents from Trinad & Grenada she is proud of her roots and fondly thinks back to being in the kitchen with her mom and all the wonderful foods. We talk about our spiritual connections, talk about generations past, how during Covid Charmaine has started digging deeper into her heritage and learning more about her family linage. Besides also talking about food we go deep and talk about black history, and how far she's traced her roots. Charmaine found her families names on slave registries dating back to 1834.We talk about salted cod, history of Black Cake, green sauce, salt fish fritters (which sound delicious), 8 hour Ox tail, and her plant based food journey. We also have some laughs talking about the Macarena and her wonderful love story… and cupid on the TTC. And a Rasta-Yogi who planted (pardon the pun) a different point of view in her ear.Charmaine is an old friend and someone I can't wait to hug. I have a list of things I can't wait to do when the world opens back up and hugs for family and friends is #1. And she is high on this list. I love our chat and I hope you will too.Pour yourself a glass of rum and enjoy!#BLACKLIVESMATTER - - - If this episode got you wanting to try some of these flavours, here are some links to similar recipes:For vegan recipes from Tabitha Brown visit @iamtabithabrown Buljol - https://www.food.com/recipe/saltfish-buljol-trinidad-220176 served atop fresh chopped saladSalt Cod Fritters - https://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/trinidad-salt-cod-fritters-pepper-sauceBlack Cake - https://tasty.co/recipe/trinidad-black-cake - - - To Follow Charmaine On Instagram @charonce_danceCharmaine's Beauty Line ChArAnkh BeAuty @charankh_beauty To Follow Food Is Culture | A Podcast On Instagram @foodisculture.apodcast Music And Editing Provided By @roninimperial From @bigsmokebounce Podcast Artwork By @giftsfrombilly giftsfrombilly.com Hosted on Acast. For episode 258, Monday, June 2, 2019... The new government of Alberta has canceled the process which would have banned so-called "gay conversion therapy". A pro-"forced birth" group in Lethbridge is taking the city to court over its refusal to place their ads on buses. A UK nurse 'sacked' by the NHS for repeatedly proselytizing to patients loses her court appeal. The Regressive Left Files... Actress Meryl Streep courts the ire of the outrage brigade saying that the term "toxic masculinity"
This week at Gateway Pastor Josh takes a look at the end of Stephans life and the importance of being full of the holy spirit. Acts 6:8-8:3
For January 27, 2018.... Christmas came late for me (or really, really early), as we learn that Justin Trudeau has unexpectedly replaced Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould with David Lametti. Quack Tracks A judge has ruled that the Stephans will not have their legal fees paid for by the Province of Alberta. The Regressive Left Files Comedian Zach Poitras has been denied a spot to perform at the Université du Québec à Montréal. The reason? He's white and has dreadlocks. The event, the Snowflake Comedy Club, could not have been named more appropriately. Catholic Watch A representative of Alberta's Catholic school system says “The courts have told us that we have to be Catholic or there's no reason for us to exist.” Guess what? There's no reason for you to exist. A Catholic priest in Calgary's NE quadrant, Malcolm Joe D'Souza, has been charged with sexual assault. I'd chalk this up to a one-off, but over a 26-year span he had been moved between a number of parishes in southern Alberta. Sound familiar? And, yes. This was on Bishop Fred Henry's watch. Embattled ex-Cardinal Wuerl claims lapses in memory over having heard about sexual abuse allegations against Theodore McCarrick. Someone should give Wuerl a Rolodex to keep them all straight. Miscellaneous... The two men behind the free Toronto "newspaper" Your Ward News which, among other things, wants rape decriminalized and claims a bloodthirsty Jewish conspiracy is afoot, will appeal their hate speech conviction. Totally forgetting Jesus was himself a Jew, one of the defendants said, "We have Jesus on our side." Ironeeeeee!
