Learn more about my patented program, Your ADHD Brain is A-OK Academy here: programs.tracyotsuka.com/signup___What happens when your brain is loud, your schedule is chaotic, and your best coping skill is making people laugh?Jessica Michelle Singleton is a no-filter comedian, podcast host, and the kind of ADHD woman who can command a stage, lose her keys, and write a killer joke—all before lunch. She's dropped two #1 comedy albums, racked up millions of views with her stand-up, and performed alongside comedy heavyweights like Mark Normand and Melissa Villaseñor. But behind the laughs? A woman who always knew her brain worked differently, even if it took years to get a name for it.Diagnosed in college after nearly losing her scholarship, Jessica shares how undiagnosed ADHD shaped her identity, her anxiety, and her early drive to do it all—four sports, a packed schedule, and straight As. She and Tracy talk about how ADHD shows up in her comedy, why perfectionism nearly sidelined her special, and how growing up in chaos made her both resilient and hilarious. They also unpack family dynamics, trauma, and the real reason so many comedians come from childhoods that were anything but funny. If you've ever felt like a hot mess with a high-octane brain, Jessica's story is a powerful reminder: sometimes the traits that made you feel “too much” are the exact ones that make you unforgettable.Resources:Punchup: https://punchup.live/jms   Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jmscomedy  X: https://x.com/JMScomedy YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@jessicamichellesingleton Send a Message: Your Name | Email | Message Learn more by connecting with Tracy through Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, or visit adhdforsmartwomen.com.Are You Ready to Discover Your Brilliance? Let's talk about volume vs. conversion and how that relates to your Pinterest marketing strategy. There are two camps of people in my community – those who want more traffic and those who want more sales. There are some that have both but more often than not one of those goals wins out. Add to it the frustration of the internet changing and you have a lot of confused, overwhelmed, and frustrated people. But I would argue the frustration isn't always about what's happening TO us but it's the lack of a clear understanding of our business model and what our ultimate goal is. So the question I'm asking today is what's the difference between volume and conversion goals in online business and can you achieve both, especially with Pinterest marketing.—-------Here are some helpful links from the podcast:

Do you know female police? She smashes stereotypes. In a gripping special episode of her appearance on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast, seasoned police officer Autumn Clifford pulls back the curtain on what Hollywood gets wrong about law enforcement and especially about women in the force. Known for her straight-shooting style and no-fluff advice, Autumn isn't just a cop, she's also a coach, podcast host, and powerful voice challenging outdated narratives about female officers. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast episode is available for free on their website, Apple Podcasts, Spotify and most major podcast platforms. “She smashes stereotypes every time she puts on the badge,” says a fan on Facebook. And it's true, Autumn's story proves that real-life police work, especially from the perspective of a woman, is far more complex and courageous than what Hollywood often shows. It is also promoted across their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other platforms. In this special episode of the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast , Autumn recounts one of the most intense moments of her early police career: a domestic violence call that turned into a standoff with an armed suspect holding his partner hostage. While action movies might glamorize this as a gun-blazing, adrenaline-fueled rescue, Autumn explains the reality. Do you know female police? She smashes stereotypes. Look for supporting stories about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin . “It wasn't about kicking in doors or pulling a trigger,” she says. “It was about using my voice, my presence, and my training to deescalate. We talked him down. We saved lives that day. That's the part you don't see in the movies.” The episode dives deep into the gritty truth of police work and reveals how television and film often reduce female cops to one-dimensional roles: either hyper-sexualized, overly emotional, or placed in administrative tasks rather than on the frontlines. Available for free on their website and streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other podcast platforms. “You know what's wild?” Autumn asks. “Just type ‘Female Police Officer Stereotypes' into any AI tool and you'll see the same tired nonsense. That we're too weak, too emotional, not respected enough to lead. That stuff is still circulating. And it's false.” Do you know female police? She smashes stereotypes. As Autumn tells it, these stereotypes aren't just insulting, they're harmful. They can impact hiring, promotions, and the way the public and fellow officers perceive female professionals. But she's not here to complain, she's here to change the conversation. “Do you know how many women applied to become officers because of Angie Dickinson in Police Woman?” she points out. “Representation matters. Back then, she was the first to lead a successful police drama. Today, we need more real stories out there. Not just fiction.” You can listen to his stories and interview on our website for free in addition to platforms like Apple Podcasts and Spotify, and other major podcast platforms. She draws inspiration from characters like Clarice Starling in The Silence of the Lambs and Marge Gunderson from Fargo, women who were smart, tough, and quietly powerful. “When I ran the obstacle course, I pictured Jodie Foster's Clarice running beside me,” Autumn laughs. “That's how much that mattered.” Autumn's message reaches beyond the badge. Through her coaching podcast and her website AutumnClifford.com, she guides people to become the best versions of themselves. Her no-nonsense style resonates with those looking to break through barriers in their own lives. Do you know female police? She smashes stereotypes. “If you're stuck, if you're burnt out, if you feel like no one understands, you're not alone,” she says. “I've been there. My podcast isn't just stories. It's strategy. It's support. It's soul.” Follow the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and podcast on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Medium and most all social media platforms. In her first podcast episode, Autumn shared her frustrations with law enforcement culture and how a back injury forced her to redefine her purpose. That journey became the foundation for her coaching work. Now, she brings on world-class guests, shares raw insights, and offers tools for transformation. “She's not just talking to cops,” says one listener. “She's talking to anyone who feels like they've been underestimated.” Do you know female police? She smashes stereotypes. So the next time you watch a cop drama or a crime thriller, ask yourself, Do you know what really happens out there? Do you know what these women are capable of? Do you know female police? She smashes stereotypes. The interview is available as a free podcast on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and podcast website, also available on platforms like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and most major podcast outlets. If you want to write more persuasive copy, you need better insights from your research. But how do you get them? Sarah Levinger is my guest for the 448th episode of The Copywriter Club Podcast and we talked about research insights, trend spotting, how A.I. can distort your research analysis, and how to make your copy more persuasive. Click the play button below, or scroll down for a full transcript.   Stuff to check out: Sarah's Community Tether Insights The Copywriter Club Facebook Group The Copywriter Underground   Full Transcript: Rob Marsh: Can psychology help you capture and hold the attention of your readers… then sell more of your products to your customers? This is The Copywriter Club Podcast. On last week's episode of the podcast, we talked about buyer psychology and how to use it to sell your products and services. It's a great interview and I recommend you don't miss it. This week's episode is a kind of part 2 to that interview. In addition to specific persuasion techniques, today we're going to go deep on research and discovering insights that a good copywriter can build a sales argument. If you want to use the techniques we talked about last week, what we talk about in this interview will give you the baseline insights to make them so much more effective. My guest today is Sarah Levinger, founder of Tether, a research insights platform that helps uncover emotional, behavioral, and identity-driven insights so marketers can connect on a deeper, more human level with their customers. And she uses A.I. to augment the process. Sarah walks through the process and framework she created for finding the kinds of insights that resonates with customers. She categorizes comments and research data by emotion, which leads to a better set of avatars and marketing ideas based on emotion rather than taglines or words that get a little tired as prospects see them over and over in your ads and other marketing.  Then Sarah goes even deeper than feelings to uncover beliefs—she talks about why in this interview. I think you're going to like what she has to share about that. Sarah also mentioned something about A.I. that I hadn't considered before that kind of shifted the way I'm thinking about using tools like Claude and ChatGPT to analyze data. If you don't understand this change, if you use A.I. in your research or analysis process, your copy will probably not connect as well you expect. Before we get to my interview with Sarah, this episode is brought to you by The Copywriter Underground. If you haven't jumped in to see what the Underground includes, now is the time. It's guaranteed, which means you can join and if you don't find the resources you need to grow your business, just let us know and we'll refund your money. The Underground includes more than 70 different workshops—and accompanying playbooks to help you gain the skills and strategies you need to build your business. About this Episode Do you ever feel like intimacy and sexuality come with a set of rules no one can quite explain, and yet everyone expects you to follow? So many of us find ourselves struggling to meet society's expectations around relationships, sex, and what it means to be fulfilled, only to discover that the realities of our experiences rarely match the myths we've been told. From changing hormones to evolving desires and the pressure to fit into cultural norms, finding authentic connection while honoring our true selves can feel overwhelming and, at times, isolating. In this episode, we dive deep into the complexities of redefining intimacy and sexuality beyond outdated scripts and rigid expectations. In this episode of Literally First Class, Keri Ford discusses the concept of upper limits, emphasizing that these limits are often physical rather than merely mental. She explores how the nervous system plays a crucial role in our success and how physical responses can indicate deeper mindset blocks. Keri highlights the importance of rewiring our nervous system to facilitate growth and action, and she encourages listeners to build their capacity to handle both high and low emotional states. The conversation concludes with practical advice on identifying physical symptoms related to mindset issues, reinforcing that awareness alone is not enough for transformation.   Takeaways: The upper limit is a physical barrier, not just a mental one. The nervous system's responses can hinder success. Awareness of mindset blocks is not enough for change. Rewiring the nervous system can facilitate growth. Physical symptoms often indicate deeper emotional issues. Building capacity helps manage emotional highs and lows. Noticing positive experiences is crucial for growth. The brain's negative bias can overshadow achievements. Emotions manifest physically in the body. Identifying physical symptoms can lead to breakthroughs.   Episode Resources: Book your free 15-minute Somatic Strategy Call with Jalena (no sales pitch, just a free nervous system audit)! During the month of May, many states host an annual event on the governor's conference on "Aging." At these conferences, older Americans may learn new ways for healthy living and lifelong learning. Some time ago, my friend Mary shared an article entitled, "Nostalgia," which I feel may be interesting to our readers as they review the changes of the century. "Over the last 50 to 60 years, we have been witnesses to many changes in our lives...Here are just a few of them: We were born before cordless phones, fax machines and ice makers. Who ever heard of organ transplants or root canals? Horsepower was something to do with a horse. Callers rang the doorbell instead of blowing their horn. The fallout problem was something kept under your hat, and when folks sat down to dinner, they counted their blessings instead of calories. Guided missiles were rolling pins and frying pans. A babysitter was called a mother. A child had more brothers and sisters than fathers, and a car didn't wear out before it was paid for. A housewife canned food instead of taking it out of cans. Being a parent required more patience than money. Baths were taken once a week, and religion every day, and the only red menace was long winter underwear. $5 worth of groceries filled two bags, and when we were in school, the hard stuff meant algebra. We did without disposable diapers, velcro and scotch tape. Instead of the internet and the information superhighway, we had the party line. In our day, television was truly a luxury, and a black and white luxury at that. Tape meant to reel to reel, not cassettes or videos... and CDs were certificates of deposits, not compact discs, and owning a "hi-fi" was all the rage, and who could forget driving a Packard or a Nash? The only millionaires in baseball were the owners. Bunnies were small rabbits and rabbits were not Volkswagens. Cars in our time met running boards, cranks, Model A Roadsters and rumble seats. A mouse was a furry little creature, not part of a computer, and the only babes politicians kissed were those in their mother's arms. We were before Hawaii and Alaska became states, Rudolph, the Red Nosed Reindeer, Snoopy, DDT, interstate highways, Holiday Inns, air conditioned cars and decaffeinated anything. We came from a time when we left our front door open. College kids swallowed goldfish, not alcohol, and in our day, songs had a tune and the words made sense. "Hippie" meant big in the hips. A trip meant travel. Bread came from bakeries, not the min. We were before microwave popcorn, child proof medicine bottles, and cars with cruise control. Streaking was what happened when you washed windows. Holidays were for getting together, not for getting away. And remember when a chick was a chicken, not the girl down the street? Tennis shoes were only worn in PE class. Bathing suits would cover your knees. And when you said, "I don't have anything to do," your parents said, "Find something to do!" In our day, we would swing and sway with Sammy K, waltz with Wayne King, dance to Guy Lombardo, and polka with Leo Greco. We have survived all of these changes and many more. What an exciting time to have lived." Warm Thought: Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at 20 or 80, anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young. Henry Ford. May you have many warm thoughts! Warm Thoughts from the Little Home on the Prairie Over a Cup of Tea, written by Dr. Luetta G. Have you ever felt like you don't have enough time to blog consistently? What if I told you that you could successfully run your blog in just five hours a week? https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode196 In this week's episode of Creatives on Fire, we're diving into how to work smarter—not harder—with a blogger's take on the five hour work week. Inspired by Tim Ferriss's The 4-Hour Workweek, this strategy is all about simplifying your workflow, focusing on what moves the needle, and creating consistent momentum. Let's break down how you can make blogging fit into your schedule—one hour a day. Can Blogging in Five Hours a Week Actually Work? Yes, my friend, it absolutely can. The key to making this work is consistency. You don't need endless hours or a huge audience to start building a profitable blog—you need a plan, a routine, and the discipline to stick to it. Step One: Make a Plan The first step is to map out what each hour of your blogging week will look like. Break the work into five main buckets and assign one task to each weekday. Monday: Draft Your Post Spend your hour outlining and drafting your blog post inside WordPress. This includes doing keyword research and writing your SEO title and headers. Use AI to speed things up if you need to. Tuesday: Create the Content Use this hour to bring your content to life. Take step-by-step photos, shoot a video, bake the recipe, or go live with a related tutorial. This is your creation day. Wednesday: Assemble and Schedule the Post Now that you've drafted and created, pull everything together. Upload your images, polish your post, and schedule it to publish next week—so you're always ahead. Thursday: Schedule the Promotions Use this hour to create your Pinterest pins, schedule your social media posts, and write the email that will promote your post. Everything should be prepped for the following week. Friday: Record and Schedule Video Content Optional—but powerful. Use this time to record and schedule your reels, short-form videos, or YouTube content related to your blog post. Step Two: Make It Predictable The real secret? Make your blogging time non-negotiable. Pick a time each day that works best for your life (early mornings are gold!) and show up like it's an appointment you can't miss. Tips for staying consistent: Block your hour on your calendar Use a “Blogging” tab group to reduce distractions Work ahead, not behind Create muscle memory—same routine, same time every day Step Three: Make It a Priority You already know blogging can generate consistent income—ads, affiliate commissions, product sales, and email growth all stem from regular publishing. So ask yourself: If I knew this would work, would I make it a priority? Once you've made the decision to treat your blog like a business, it becomes easier to commit to the five hour framework. Over time, your one hour a day builds lasting success, and that boring, consistent effort becomes your biggest advantage. What If You Want to Blog More Than Once a Week? If you're posting multiple times a week, just double the time. Two blog posts = two hours a day. But here's the beauty of batching—your efficiency will skyrocket. Once you get in the flow, you'll find you can prep several posts at once in even less time. As with anything in business: what's hard at first becomes easier with repetition. La ContraCrónica

Play Episode Listen Later May 19, 2025 52:35

As podcasters we kind of have to be obsessed with what's next. It's way too easy to get stuck in the churn of what's happening right now, and we have to focus on the next big guest, your next recording date, that next launch and the product you'll have next year. That's part of being a podcaster and business owner and being a high achiever. You always have to be looking around corners and figuring out what's next before your competition does. It can be really hard to get out of this mindset, because it's so critical to the success of most parts of our lives, but for most podcasters I know, that's distracting you from the treasure trove of what you've already created. In this episode we're talking about why your back catalog matters, organizing your archive, repurposing, and how to effectively market your past episodes for the future growth of your podcast.

Assaults On Kids, Intervention and Investigations, His Experience. Retired Georgia Detective Shares the Harsh Truth About Investigations Into Assaults On Kids. In a recent interview on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast, which is available for free on their website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and most major podcast platforms. It is also promoted across their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium, retired Georgia law enforcement officer Bryan McRee opened up about his harrowing experience investigating assaults and sex assaults on kids, a career focus he never anticipated but ultimately became his calling. With 25 years in law enforcement, Bryan's journey took him from a city Police Department to the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office in south-central Georgia, where he served as a Detective. It was there that he found himself pulled into the darkest aspects of crime: investigations into child sexual abuse. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast episode is available for free on their website, Apple Podcasts, Spotify and most major podcast platforms. “I never thought this would become a specialty for me,” Bryan said. “But once I handled my first case involving a child, I realized how critical it was that someone do this right, and do it with compassion.” Look for supporting stories about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin . Throughout his career, Bryan led numerous investigations involving minors, often uncovering trauma that had been hidden within trusted circles. Assaults On Kids, Intervention and Investigations, His Experience. “The majority of these assaults come from someone the child knows, a family member, a coach, a caretaker,” he explained. “That betrayal adds another layer of trauma, and it complicates the investigation.” Available for free on their website and streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other podcast platforms. Bryan detailed two specific cases that he believes the news media often misrepresents, stories that don't make for comfortable headlines, but are sadly common. According to Bryan, intervention needs to happen early, and the focus should always be on the victims, not sensationalism. “One of the hardest parts was facing attacks, not just from suspects, but sometimes from their families, who refused to believe the victim. That's something the public rarely sees,” he noted. “But these kids... they needed someone to believe them.” The emotional toll of these cases wasn't lost on Bryan. Assaults On Kids, Intervention and Investigations, His Experience. You can listen to his stories and interview on our website for free in addition to platforms like Apple Podcasts and Spotify, and other major podcast platforms. “You try to leave the job at the office, but when a kid looks you in the eye and says what happened to them, that stays with you. You carry that forever.” He emphasized that part of his duty wasn't just about arrests and convictions, it was about intervention, providing hope and healing to children and families whose lives had been shattered. Child sexual abuse is alarmingly prevalent. According to national statistics, every 68 seconds an American is sexually assaulted, and the vast majority of abused children, up to 93% that were sexually assaulted knew their abuser. Despite that, only 25 out of every 1,000 perpetrators are ever imprisoned. Follow the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and podcast on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Medium and most all social media platforms. “People need to understand the scale of the problem,” Bryan stressed. “We're talking about hundreds of thousands of victims. And these kids often don't have a voice, so we have to be that voice.” Assaults On Kids, Intervention and Investigations, His Experience. In Georgia, initiatives like the Keeping Kids Safe Campaign are part of an ongoing effort to provide intervention services to victims. Organizations like the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy (GCCA) serve over 900 children each year, offering forensic interviews, trauma-informed therapy, and family support. “What GCCA does is incredible,” Bryan said. “They're rebuilding lives.” Lowndes County, where Bryan served, is located near the Florida border and is part of the Valdosta metropolitan area. Known for its strong community ties and rich history, the Sheriff's Office there operates with a mission rooted in justice, dignity, and community service. The interview is available as a free podcast on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and podcast website, also available on platforms like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and most major podcast outlets. “We were always taught to serve with integrity. To protect the innocent. That mission became very real when dealing with kids who had been assaulted.” Since retiring from law enforcement, Bryan has founded LEMS.Online, a company dedicated to modernizing law enforcement services. LEMS provides POST training, evidence room audits, and even duty-ready firearms and suppressors. The organization also offers a free training record management system for Georgia POST instructors, streamlining and improving how agencies track training and compliance. Assaults On Kids, Intervention and Investigations, His Experience. “It's about giving back,” he said. “My time as a cop taught me that law enforcement needs the right tools and training. LEMS is how I continue to serve, just in a different way.” His podcast episode dives deep into both the practical and emotional challenges of working cases involving the assaults on kids, and the vital role law enforcement plays in these investigations. His candid storytelling, combined with years of fieldwork, make it a must-listen for anyone interested in the reality behind the badge. You can listen to the full conversation now on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast Websitem, on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and be sure to follow the ongoing discussion across Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn. Assaults On Kids, Intervention and Investigations, His Experience. Phenology is a field of study that explains the seasonal changes and behaviors seen in plants and animals. Unfortunately, due to climate change, many phenological events are occurring earlier or later, which disrupts relationships between co-dependent plants and animals. Joining me on the podcast to explain what gardeners need to know about phenology is ecologist and phenology expert Theresa Crimmins. If you've been caught in that exhausting loop of “I need to take a break” followed by “I need a drink,” this episode will be a game-changer. I asked Dr. Anna Lembke—Stanford psychiatrist, addiction specialist, and author of Dopamine Nation—to help explain the science behind alcohol cravings, why dopamine plays a central role in addiction, and how you can reset your brain to feel better without drinking. Dr. Lembke breaks down how alcohol spikes dopamine in your brain, giving you that initial “ahhh” sensation. But here's the kicker: over time, alcohol actually lowers your natural dopamine levels, leaving you feeling more anxious, depressed, and restless when you're not drinking. It's not just a bad hangover—it's a neurological withdrawal cycle.
